Physique: Average Build Height: 5′ 8″ (1.73 m)
Tommy George Thompson (born November 19, 1941) is an American Republican politician from Juneau County, Wisconsin. He served as the 19th United States secretary of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2005 in the cabinet of President George W. Bush. Before that, he was the 42nd governor of Wisconsin (1987–2001) and Republican floor leader in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1981–1987). He is the longest-serving governor in Wisconsin history, holding office from January 1987 until February 2001, and is the only person to be elected to the office four times.

Whilst he didn't quite do it for me when he was at the height of his fame. Not that I didn't find him attractive, because I did. Its just that there were a lot politicians back then that was ahead of him. But I could tell that he was going to still be very fuckable when he got older. He dresses nice, has great hair(now gray) and one of the nicest set of lips I have ever seen. Man, I'd love to do things to him that would make him blush.

Born in Elroy, WI, Thompson graduated from the local high school in 1959. In 1963 he received a bachelors degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin. He entered the law school at Wisconsin that same year, completing his J.D. degree in 1966. He plunged into politics in the summer after he finished law school, first elected to public office in 1966 when, at the age of 24, he won election to the State Assembly.

Of course he's married, to Sue Ann Mashak in 1968, and together three children and five grandchildren. Thompson has dedicated his life and career to public service, but now is more or less a farmer working on his family farm in Elroy. So since he's a farmer now, he wouldn't mind taking me around the farm. If you know what I mean.

TV Guide -  May 30 - June 5, 1964
Ernest Borgnine (/ˈbɔːrɡnaɪn/; born Ermes Effron Borgnino; January 24, 1917 – July 8, 2012)  Film, stage and television actor whose career spanned over six decades. He was noted for his gruff but relaxed voice and gap-toothed Cheshire Cat grin. A popular performer, he also appeared as a guest on numerous talk shows and as a panelist on several game shows.
Borgnine made his TV debut as a character actor in Captain Video and His Video Rangers, beginning in 1951. These two episodes led to countless other television roles that Borgnine would gain in Goodyear Television Playhouse, The Ford Television Theatre, Fireside Theatre, Frontier Justice, Laramie, Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre, Run for Your Life, Little House on the Prairie (a two-part episode entitled "The Lord is My Shepherd"), The Love Boat, Magnum, P.I., Highway to Heaven, Murder, She Wrote, Walker, Texas Ranger, Home Improvement, Touched by an Angel, the final episodes of ER, the first episode of Wagon Train, and many others.
In 1962, Borgnine signed a contract with Universal Studios for the lead role as the gruff but lovable skipper, Quinton McHale, in what began as a serious one-hour 1962 episode called "Seven Against the Sea" for Alcoa Premiere, and later reworked to a comedy called McHale's Navy, a World War II sitcom, which also co-starred unfamiliar comedians Joe Flynn as Capt. Wally Binghamton and Tim Conway as Ens. Charles Parker. The insubordinate crew of PT-73 helped the show become an overnight success during its first season, landing in the top 30 in 1963. (Wikipedia)
Thomas Daniel "Tim" Conway (December 15, 1933 – May 14, 2019) Film and television actor, comedian, writer, and director. From 1966 to 2012 he appeared in more than 100 TV shows, TV series and films. Among his more notable roles, he portrayed the inept Ensign Parker in the 1960s World War II TV situation comedy McHale's Navy, was a regular cast member (1975–1978) on the TV comedy The Carol Burnett Show where he portrayed his recurrent iconic characters Mister Tudball, the Oldest Man and the Dumb Private, co-starred with Don Knotts in several films (1975–80), was the title character in the Dorf series of eight sports comedy direct-to-video films (1987–1996), and provided the voice of Barnacle Boy in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants (1999–2012). Twice, in 1970 and in 1980–1981, he had his own TV series.  (Wikipedia)
Joseph Anthony Flynn III (November 8, 1924 – July 19, 1974) Film and television character actor. He was best known for his role as Captain Wallace Binghamton in the 1960s ABC television situation comedy McHale's Navy. He was also a frequent guest star on 1960s TV shows, such as Batman, and appeared in several Walt Disney film comedies. Edna Flannery Kelly was elected to the House seat of the deceased congressman from Brooklyn's 10th Congressional District in 1949. Seen here with her daughter the following day, November 9, 1949, she proves that even though she's a politician, she's also a woman, by preparing bacon and eggs in her kitchen.
Kelly served in the House for 19 years. She had expertise in foreign affairs and helped enact legislation to settle displaced people and refugees from Russia and Eastern Europe after World War II. She also helped to create the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and was active on women's and social issues. She drew attention to inequities in pay, credit, and tax laws, including what she considered inadequate deductions for child care. And she led the fight for the "equal pay for equal work" law, which was passed in 1963.

“Merle Oberon, the durable Anglo-Indian beauty born Estelle Merle O’Brien Thompson in Tasmania (1911), made her film debut as an extra in a 1930 British B film, but soon her dramatic if one-dimensional beauty caught the eye of the Hungarian-born British producer Alexander Korda, who groomed her for stardom and was her husband for a time. In 1935 he sold a half-share in her contract to Samuel Goldwyn, another famous star spotter, who oversaw her transition from exotic to all-American. Never a top star but a popular actress in a number of prestigious films, Oberon continued to make periodic starring appearances until her death.”
/ From Hollywood Colour Portraits by John Kobal, 1981 /
Born on this day: exquisite golden age Hollywood leading lady Merle Oberon (19 February 1911 - 23 November 1979). Of course, we now know that Oberon was actually born in Bombay, India rather than Tasmania, but that wasn’t common knowledge when film historian Kobal wrote his book in the early eighties. In her lifetime Oberon took painful efforts to conceal her mixed-race heritage (when even an onscreen interracial kiss – then called “miscegenation” - was strictly forbidden by the Hays Code), including the use of toxic skin-lightening make-up containing mercury. (A few years ago, the reliably excellent and addictive You Must Remember This podcast devoted an instalment to Oberon – look it up!). In her romantic lead heyday Oberon specialized in period dramas (she’s probably best remembered for playing Catherine Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights (1939)), but I like her best in the movies that forced her out of her primarily decorative and ladylike comfort zone like the sordid Temptation (1946), the nymphomania-themed melodrama Of Love and Desire (1963) and especially the obscure 1956 film noir The Price of Fear, in which she plays a prim high society woman whose life unravels after a hit-and-run incident.

Some of the actors who participated in the Brazilian soap opera adaptation of Les Misérables in 1967
Sadi Cabral as The Bishop Myriel
Tumblr media
Born Sadi Sousa Leite Cabral (September 10, 1906 – November 23, 1986) he was an actor who was active between the years of 1923 and 1986. In addition to being an actor, he was also a announcer, scriptwriter, screenwriter, director, dancer, lyricist and producer.
Leonardo Villar as Jean Valjean
Tumblr media
Born Leonildo Motta (July 25, 1923 - July 3, 2020), he was an actor who was active between the 1950 and 2011. His career, like many actors of the time, began in the theater; and to this day he is considered one of the best Brazilian actors, and was acclaimed by many colleagues in the profession.
Both of his parents were Spanish immigrants from Andalusia, and he was the youngest of 7 siblings.
Otávio Augusto as Javert
Tumblr media
Born Otávio Augusto de Azevedo Sousa (January 30, 1945), he is an actor, comedian and director who originally began his activities in 1965, and continues with them to this day. He has many credits involving films, plays and other soap operas.
Laura Cardoso as Fantine
Tumblr media
Born Laurinda de Jesus Cardoso Balleroni (September 13, 1927), she began her career in 1950. However, her love for acting began many years before her adult life. As a child, she used to play theater with her friends in the neighborhood; and at the age of 15, she decided to finally pursue an artistic career, starting her work in radionovelas.
"She is one of the actresses who has acted the most in the country, with more than 100 works [...] including more than 60 soap operas. She has also made 30 feature films for the cinema."
Chico de Assis as Félix Tholomyès
Tumblr media
Born Francisco de Assis Pereira (December 10, 1933 – January 3, 2015) he was a Brazilian playwright who began his activities in 1953. I believe that of those mentioned so far, he was the only one who was not actively in the acting field. Although he participated in some soap operas, the focus of his work was most directing and producing plays.
Maria Isabel de Lizandra as Cosette
Tumblr media
Born Maria Isabel Reclusa Antunes Maciel (June 5, 1946 – March 14, 2019) she was an actress of soap operas, series and plays who was active between 1963 and 1998.
She starred in Les Misérables early in her career, making it the fifth soap opera in which she appeared.
Serafim Gonzalez as M. Thénardier
Tumblr media
Born Seraphim Gonzalez (May 19, 1934 – April 29, 2007) he was an actor and sculptor who was active between 1946 and 2007. Like the actor who played Jean Valjean, his parents were also Spanish immigrants.
And here's a fun fact about him: Here in Brazil, there is another very famous soap opera called "Mulheres de Areia" (I think in English it would be something like "Sand Women") and there is the original version, and the remake made two decades later. He participated in both versions. He was the one who sculpted the sand statues that appeared throughout the story.
Tumblr media
Cacilda Lanuza as Mme. Thénardier
Tumblr media
Born Cacilda Lanuza de Godoy Silveira (September 1, 1930 – June 17, 2018) she was an actress of theater, cinema and television. In addition, she also worked as a television host, radio broadcaster, writer, reporter and announcer.

How many presidents have had both of their parents alive when they were president?
Three Presidents have had both parents alive when they became President:
•Ulysses S. Grant Grant was the first President with both of his parents alive at the time of his inauguration. His father, Jesse Root Grant, died on June 29, 1873 during Grant’s second term. His mother, Hannah Simpson Grant, survived both of his terms and died two years before he did, on May 11, 1883. •John F. Kennedy Not only were both of JFK’s Presidents alive when he became President, but they are the only parents of a President who both outlived him. JFK was assassinated in 1963. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., died in 1969, and his mother, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy died in 1995 at the age of 104. •George W. Bush Both of Bush’s parents were alive when he took office and survived his entire two-term Presidency. His father, former President George H.W. Bush, died on November 30, 2018, just six months after the death of his mother, Barbara Bush, in April 2018.
Several Presidents have had either their father or mother still alive when they became President:
FATHER •John Quincy Adams: The first son of a President to be elected President himself was also the first President whose father was still alive at the time of his inauguration. John Adams died July 4, 1826, a little over a year into JQA’s Presidency. •Millard Fillmore: Nathaniel Fillmore lived through his son’s entire Presidency (1850-1853) and died in his 90s during the Civil War, on March 28, 1863. •Warren G. Harding: Harding’s father, George Tryon Harding, lived through his son’s entire Administration and died on November 19, 1928. Harding, who died in office on August 2, 1923, was the first President who was outlived by his father. •Calvin Coolidge: Not only did Coolidge’s father, John Calvin Coolidge, live to see his son become President, but he actually administered the oath of office. Coolidge, the Vice President at the time, was visiting his father when President Harding died in office and the elder Coolidge, a notary public, administered the Presidential oath at the family home in Vermont. Coolidge’s father died on March 18, 1926 during President Coolidge’s second term.
MOTHER •George Washington: Mary Ball Washington died August 25, 1789, a little less than four months after his first inauguration. •John Adams: Susanna Boylston Adams died  April 21, 1797, just under two months after Adams became President. •James Madison: Eleanor Conway Madison lived through both of her son’s terms as President (1809-1817) and died February 11, 1829 at the age of 98. •James K. Polk: Polk was the first President who didn’t outlive his mother. She died on January 11, 1852, almost three years after Polk left office and died. •James Garfield: Garfield’s mother, Eliza Ballou Garfield, lived to see him become President and die in office. She died on January 21, 1888, almost seven years after he was assassinated. •William McKinley: McKinley’s mother, Nancy Allison McKinley, lived to attend her son’s first inauguration, but died several months later, December 12, 1897. •Franklin D. Roosevelt: FDR’s mother, Sara Delano Roosevelt, lived to see her son inaugurated three times. She died during her son’s third term, on September 7, 1941. •Harry S. Truman: Truman’s mother, Martha Young Truman, lived to see her son succeed to the Presidency in April 1945. She died during his first term, on July 26, 1947, at the age of 94. •Jimmy Carter: Lillian Carter lived through her son’s entire Presidency and was even sent to represent him at events overseas several times, which made her a celebrity in her own right during his Presidency. She died on April 30, 1983, two years after Carter left the White House. •George H.W. Bush: Bush’s mother, Dorothy Walker Bush, lived to see her son become President. She died on November 19, 1992, two weeks after her son lost his bid for re-election. •Bill Clinton: Virginia Cassidy Kelley, Clinton’s mother, lived to see him become President but died less than a year later, on January 6, 1994.

Record Group 233: Records of the U.S. House of RepresentativesSeries: General Records
This item, H.R. 7152, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, faced strong opposition in the House Rules Committee. Howard Smith, Chairman of the committee, refused to schedule hearings for the bill. BOMBSHELL BREAKTHROUGH! Not only did Lee Harvey Oswald have absolutely nothing to do with the assassination of JFK…..
Posted on September 8, 2024 by State of the Nation
…he was working closely with the Kennedy brothers by spying on rogue elements within the C.I.A. who were constantly planning to assassinate Fidel Castro against the explicit orders of President Kennedy.
Tumblr media
SOTN Editor’s Note: Why is it that the very same stupidos, who falsely assert that 19 Muslim terrorists with boxcutters working under their boss Osama bin Laden in a cave in Afghanistan, also absurdly proclaim that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman who killed President John F. Kennedy?
“Not only did Lee Harvey Oswald (LHO) have no involvement whatsoever with the JFK assassination, he was deliberately set up as the patsy by both the C.I.A. and FBI because they caught him working for a super-secret sting operation set up by both President John F. Kennedy and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.  JFK had had it with the many attempts to assassinate Cuba’s President Castro and knew that he had to do something radical to defang the C.I.A. in this regard.  So, he and brother Bobby recruited LHO into a highly covert cell of double agents to expose the rogue CIA operatives and their insubordinate leaders in Langley who were operating out of their New Orleans secret headquarters.  NOLA, at the time, was a hotbed of hot-headed Cubanos who wanted Castro dead in the worst way and they were forever colluding with the CIA to knock him off.  Which is why JFK said the following.”
— Submitted by a Veteran Intelligence Analyst & Former U.S. Military Officer
Lee Harvey Oswald Framed by the CIA Because He Infiltrated Their Assassination Conspiracy & Was Working Directly for the Kennedy Brothers
Lee Harvey Oswald: Unsung Hero Who Alerted JFK To ‘Assassination Plot’ In Chicago
Conclusive Evidence Proves Lee Harvey Oswald Worked For Both The CIA and FBI
Oswald Worked Directly For Robert F. Kennedy Who Authorized His Return From The USSR To Conduct Domestic ‘Counterintelligence’
State of the Nation
“There’s a well known tactic within intel circles that whenever an infiltrator is found out, they are turned into a patsy as a warning to those behind the penetration of the conspiracy.  The great American patriot Lee Harvey Oswald fits this description—PERFECTLY”
— Veteran Intelligence Analyst & Former U.S Military Officer
The following narrative concerning the true role of Lee Harvey Oswald in the assassination of John F. Kennedy is both simple and complex.  Simple because Oswald was actually a very young and simple guy who was  grossly misrepresented by the government, law enforcement and the media.  Complex because an extraordinary confluence of circumstances threw him into a literal caldron of festering conflicts and complicated vendettas.
“No good deed goes unpunished” is an adage that is quite applicable to the real story of Lee Oswald.  His idealistic nature and ardent search for his mission in life propelled him into the most dangerous game on the planet in the early 1960s.  Such was his naiveté and quixotic approach to life that Oswald would be thrust onto a battlefield that guaranteed he would be caught in the crossfire.  And so he was on November 24th, 1963[1].

The Art Of Redemption - Timeline
Okay, so this isn't a timeline strictly for The Art of Redemption. It's more like a timeline for characters that appear in that story as well as in We Are Sugar Valentine, since the two are more than tangentially connected.
We Are Sugar Valentine is taking place in present day (2022-2024) and The Art of Redemption takes place in 2011-2012.
I noticed that several people may have been confused because I tend to jump around a lot between stories and also with random vignettes. It's all perfectly clear in my head, but since nobody else is living in my head, I thought a timeline of important events for all the major characters would help everyone make sense of it.

In 1957, Dr. Alfred Blackburn and Dr. Gregory Erasmus started an underfunded, ill-advised, and overly ambitious project to bring an idea from science fiction to life and create a way to manufacture supersolders.
Their goal was to create a machine that would turn ordinary men into physically perfect specimens full of strength, vitality, and energy.
In short, the perfect man.
After months of labor, the pair had their device ready to test.
The problem, this being an independent and totally secret project, was finding a volunteer.
A game of rock, paper, scissors placed Doctor Erasmus in the transformation pod.
What would emerge, they knew, would either be nothing, a burned-out husk, or the perfect human.
And the perfect human is just what they got.
Tumblr media
Only it turned out that the perfect human was not as they had envisioned it.
Doughy 65-year-old Dr. Erasmus had indeed returned to spectacular youth and was indeed now full of vim, vigor, and vitality.
He was also now a beautiful woman who seemed to be around 19 or 20 years old.
It seemed that the machines' and doctors' ideas of what the perfect human would be were somewhat different.
Further testing showed the device worked its miracle by turning the Y chromosome into a supercharged X chromosome.
So, It would only work on men and, while perfecting them, also turned them into women.
The government bigwigs and brass hats gave a hard pass on funding the device on finding out about this.
Tumblr media
Undaunted Doctor Erasmus decided to do something with her new situation. Recalling an at the time defunct superhero from around 10 years ago.
Tumblr media
Gregory, now calling herself Gloria, put the laboratory to work, making that old fantasy come to life.
Tumblr media
Fortunately along with the youth and vitality the Device had also supercharged Gloria’s brain and she was able to finance her work by creating a popular makeup brand for Maybelline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soon, America was introduced to a new righter of wrongs and punisher of evildoers, American Glory.
The press and the public ate it up with a fork.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It didn’t take long for American Glory to become very popular. True, she spent more time appearing on The Jack Benny Program, The Red Skelton Show, and The Ed Sullivan Show than she did stopping bank robbers, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to make a living.
Tumblr media
The career of the Star-Spangled Sister came to an end when the fame started to become more important than heroic daring do.
A participant in an infamous parade in Texas on the 22nd of November 1963, Glory was too busy taking photos with the public to investigate what she thought was just the sound of a car backfiring.
Her reputation was destroyed. Gloria Erasmus collected all her equipment, along with the original Device, and disappeared to parts unknown. public to investigate what she thought was just the sound of a car backfiring.
