Does 2012 April have flaws? Yes.

Does 2012 April actively show Donnie affection? Yes.

Does 2012 April have feelings for Donnie to some degree? Yes.

Is she 100% sure on those feelings? No.

Does she have more important problems in her life to deal with than whether or not a boy is into her? Fuck yes.

Does April sometimes go too far and overreact? Yes.

So does every single other character in the show.

Her father was kidnapped episode one, and he’s the only family member she is ever shown to have a close relationship with (her aunt literally never appears in the show she doesn’t count.)

Then her life is put in danger CONSTANTLY, her father is mutated by the people who promised to save him (their fault or not), she is forced to live underground IN A SEWER, she tries to train to pull her own weight and contribute because she’s sick of sitting on the sidelines only to be treated like she’s helpless constantly, on top of that she’s got two guys constantly flirting with her and playing tug of war with her.

April has flaws. April makes mistakes. April can be loud and abrasive and takes her frustration out on people who probably don’t deserve it.

But for peoples biggest gripe of her character to be that she’s a “tease?”

Y’all are just as guilty of reducing her character to just a love interest as some of the writers.

(Also for the “you’re my mutant” thing? She said that in response to Donnie putting himself down. He apologized and then proceeded to imply that she doesn’t want to be with him solely cause he’s a mutant.) (She also never said she didn’t like him or that she didn’t have feelings for him, she literally just felt uncomfortable with getting a gift with HIS FACE ON IT. Idc how much I like someone that’s an awkward thing to get) (let’s also not forget that Donnie never confessed to her either? She didn’t reject him cause he never asked her out.)

Michaelangelo, the 15 who needs some things explained to him more, and is made out to be stupid because of it.

Leonardo, the 15 who was forced to grow up way too fast.

Rise!April: Uh no, we’re not.

2003!April: Yeah, my Casey and Donnie have never acted like that? Plus Donatello is like a little brother to me and i’m an adult so I wouldn’t even entertain it.

Rise!April: Same, me and my Donnie are straight up siblings.

12!April: What about your Caseys though? C’mon you know how they are.

2003!April: A dumbass adrenaline junkie? Yes. Someone who disrespects my boundaries and acts like a creep? No. He tried to swoon me once or twice but that was when we reciprocated feelings.

Rise!April: You go, girl! I’v been trying to send hints towards my Casey, but she’s so dense.

2003!Casey: You have to be upfront with her, my Casey made me breakfast in bed and got me flowers all because he was nervous to say he cared about me. He was acting like saying it would make me hate him. Your Casey is probably just nervous to say anything.

12!April: What?? Mine is the exact opposite. I remember i’v only known him for a week at that point and he was calling me ‘babe’ and stuff. Not to mention Donnie following me.

03!April: … Do you need my Casey to give them a lecture or something?

Rise!April: No no, i’ll call mine up and they’ll beat that crap out of them in seconds flat. Donnie would be happy to join in.

And then 12!April goes “No.” and puts him back together((like they did with 12!Don))

But overexerts themself in the process, and then they bond in the medical ward of the 12 turtles lair

And they’re besties now, they’re his older sib now

Guys I fckin hate 2012 April. I hate everything about her character so much. I hate her selfishness and immaturity, I hate that Donnie likes her, I hate that Casey likes her, I hate that she likes Casey, I hate that Splinter is so attached to her, I hate her stupid hair and her stupid season 3 space jumpsuit, I hate that she has the coolest superpower ever, I hate that nothing bad ever happens to her ever, and that if anything bad does happen to her the turtles have to be all like "omg we have to save April :0" and Donnies all like "*HYPERVENTILATING* APRIL- GHUGHH MY APRIL", and I hate that she is exactly how every tiny young fan would write themselves into the TMNT (being beloved by all and poorly written)

I am so proud of my baby cousins- okay so-

I was talking to them (they’re six your old twin girls) and they asked me to show them my favorite show. Naturally since they already know Sonic boom I start up Netflix and put on ROTTMNT. But to my surprise! They already know it. And they looked me dead in the eyes and said they actually liked the round smooth show better. And I grinned. My baby cousins like the 2012 show I grew up watching!

I shed a single tear and put that show on. Naturally I started asking who they liked. The younger twin likes Mikey. The older twin Likes Donnie. They think Raph is mean and know him as “the red one that punches Mikey”. Leo is “the blue one”.

The best part? They both hate April. (The older definitely just hates her because she likes Donnie and April gets in the way of her and Donnie. Omg shes too cute she literally drew herself marrying sonic how long until she draws herself marrying Donnie I cant-)
