MIDAS TOUCH
MIDAS TOUCH
Pairing - switch!keeho x switch!fem!reader
includes - idol!KIOF, idol!PIWON
Warnings: oral (f & m receiving), drinking, hickeys, smut with little plot, spit, hair pulling, Semi public sex, cum eating, fingering, kys joke, not proofread, if i missed anything please lmk!!
an: This is my first time writing smut so it’s not the greatest but i still tried!! i was lowkey yapping this whole story my b 😭 this is 100% inspired by the video of keeho and intak in the club 😭😭 tysm for reading and i hope u enjoy!
Your company worked with a bunch on companies to put on a huge concert in LA similar to coachella. You and your members are in the car heading to your hotel when your manager mentions the after party. Julie squeals and demands the whole car to get ready right when you guys get to the hotel. You were so exhausted from performing the whole day but when you get to the hotel you decided to get ready anyways. You put on a short black mini skirt, a black crop top and leather jacket. While doing your makeup you get a text from a cute boy you saw backstage at the event.
KYO : are u coming to the party?
Y/N : yup, julie is forcing the whole group
lol
KYO : lol
KYO : see u then ;)
You softly smile at your phone and set it down face down when your member, Julie, walks in from the bathroom in a short, loose fitting dress with lace around the top and a gray jean jacket. “Y/N is this a good outfit?” she says before she twirls to give you a 360 of her outfit “wow Julie, u look stunning as usual” u say looking her up and down with a a wide smile on your face “i like the lace, it’s cute” she gives you a warm smile and sits on the edge of the hotel bed “show me what your wearing” she says continuously tapping you. You get up from the floor and do a spin for Julie. While you’re turned around Julie slaps your ass making you jump. you and Julie burst out laughing and you sit back on the floor to continue your makeup while Julie goes to text the others and put on her shoes. you put on your lip combo and finish off with a pair black bunny ears Julie got you. You and your members collect in the hallway to take pictures then your manager drives you to the club where the party is at. You and your members walk in. You link arms with Julie and Natty and walk into the crowd of wasted idols while Belle and Hanuel get drinks. You can feel everyone breathing all around you but it doesn’t bother you. Julie grabs you and starts to playfully grind on you, Natty starts to laugh and pulls out her phone to start recording you and Julie. Laughing, you look up from Julie and lock eyes with the gray haired boy from earlier while a boy with long, black, mullet type hair talks to him,Theo? you think his name is but you can’t remember. but you can tell keeho is not listening to a thing he’s saying. You immediately choke on air and lean over to Natty and keeps your hand on her shoulder to support you while you stumble with your free hand on your chest. Julie looks at you confused and yells loud enough for you and natty to hear her that you guys should get drinks. At the bar you tell natty and julie what happened. they look at each other, look at you, and start laughing while you throw down your first shot of the night. “Wait, wait, wait THATS why you made a scene??” Natty says between laughs. You roll your eyes at Nattys comment “You should talk to him instead of being a mess!” Natty continues. “Now we all know she can’t do that sober” Julie adds on holding her 2nd shot. “Hey!” you say hitting her arm and laughing. You sigh “Your right..”. Natty and Julie have now made it their goal to 1. Get you drunk and 2. Get you to hook up with keeho. You guys order more shots. 2nd shot, you’re still sober. 5th shot Natty and Julie are wasted but you can still understand what they’re saying and you have a feeling that your going to puke, your drunk but not drunk enough. 12 shots later you’re definitely drunk by how you immediately stumbled when you got up from your seat. You, Natty and Julie immediately laugh and help you up. You dust yourself off and see keeho around 3 meters away from you. You take a deep breath and start to walk up to him while Julie follows and Natty walks off to find wasted belle and haneul. You walk up to him and open your mouth but you stumble into him before you can get a word out. In the 3 seconds this happened Julie and that black haired boy from earlier are off dancing somewhere. You look at him and laugh wrapping your arms around his neck while he rests his hands on your hips. “I’m Y/N” you say loud enough for him to hear. He softly chuckles “I know that beautiful” He reply’s with a playful smirk on his face. “What’s your like actual name?” you whisper in his ear because your throat hurts from yelling. “Stephen” he whispers back, his lips grazing your ear causing you to bite your lip and hide you face in the crook of his neck. you whisper back through small laughs “oh my god please do that again, that was so hot”. Out of nowhere your groups song Midas Touch starts to play and Julie Theo appears to drag you and Keeho to the center where the rest of the group is and see them in their positions. Adrenaline rushes through your body and you start to dance with your group, sneaking winks to Keeho here and there which is
100% working and making him blush. During the chorus you sneak off to tease him a bit and grind on him. before your members can notice and before your center part comes up, you slip him a piece of paper and wink at him and go back to dance with your group. He unfolds the paper to a message that says “Meet me in the bathroom ♡” he blushes and crumbles up the note before Theo can read it. The dance finishes and everyone claps while you guys smile and bow to the people watching. You lock eyes with Keeho and he has slight smirk on his face. You walk up to him, grab his hand and lead him into the club bathroom, locking the door behind you. Right as the door locks he aggressively presses his lips against yours. His soft moans and whimpers into the kiss make you deepen the kiss, turning into a heated make out session. After about 2 minutes he starts to pull away, you lean in more to continue the kiss but your lips eventually disconnect. “Is this okay?” he says between pants. You give him a slight nod and cup his face with both of you hands, pulling him back into the kiss. He starts to take off your jacket and starts to pull off his blue over shirt. You pull at the bottom of his shirt signaling that you want him to take it off. He immediately pulls off shirt and throws it to the floor. You move away from the door and lead him to the sink pressing his back onto it. You break the kiss and unbuckle his pants, lightly pulling down his jeans and boxers. He moans as the cold air hits his throbbing cock. You tease him and lightly and trace his cock. He lets out a whine and begs “Baby…please touch me..please”. Your eyes widen when he says that. You have no idea what you did but you have this man under your control. You spit onto his cock and jerk him off causing him to moan and whimper uncontrollably. You kiss his red tip and start to put the whole thing down your throat. Slowly sucking and jerking him off. “Mhm…gonna cum” he says between pants and his voice shaking. You slowly pick up your pace. “Fuck..” He whispers as his orgasm gets closer. You look up at him and lock eyes with him as you suck his cock which immediately makes him cum into your mouth. You look up at him as you swallow his load. You get up from your knees and grab his jaw. “Open.” You say with a stern voice and he immediately obeys. You spit into his mouth and he looks you dead in your eyes as he swallows it. Opening his mouth to show you that he did. You smirk at him and slowly spin him around so you guys have switched places. He picks you up and places you on top of the sink as he kisses your neck and marks your neck until there is a dark purple bruise on your neck. He proudly smiles at his work. He presses his lips back onto yours, you try to deepen the kiss again but Keeho takes a fist full of your hair and pulls it. causing you to moan. He smiles against your lips realizing that he now has you under his control. he pulls away from the kiss and pulls down your skirt, revealing you black, lace underwear. he pulls it to the side and starts to leave soft kisses on your inner thighs. His warm tongue sends shivers down your spine as he licks your wet cunt. You close slap your hand over your mouth to hide moans. He looks up at you and laughs at the sight, making you moan even harder. The lewd sounds coming from your wet pussy and mouth made you thankful for the loud music playing from the speakers. “Mmng- gonna cum..” you say between heavy pants. His mouth disconnects from your cunt and shoves two fingers into you without warning, causing you to loudly moan from the pleasure. He swiftly pumps in and out of you as he kissed your neck. “Please… fuck!” You’re not even sure what you’re begging for but you still are. “Cum on my fingers for me, y/n.” he says into your neck. You instantly cum when you hear his deep breathy voice. “good girl” he says looking into your eyes and kissing your lips. You smile into the kiss and hop off the sink grabbing your bunny ears and your jacket off the floor. You feel him wrap his arms around you as he places one last kiss on your neck
and puts his shirts back on. He opens the bathroom door for you and you both walk out, giving each other one last hug. You stand there as he walks away, when he gets to a point where he can’t see you, you immediately pull out your phone and text the KIOF group chat.

hiiii could you please do sargebon + 💗? thank you sm 🫶🫶
ouhhhhh tenderness ....
for the kiss prompt ask game !
"💗 / slow kiss / gentle kiss / inevitable / soft"
doomed lovers, non-racing, college au sargebon.... this request sent me down a rabbit hole and I somehow ended up with approximately 1.2k words of sargebon in front of me
The club was hot, sticky all around and it is absolutely not the environment Alex wants to be in right now.
But, Logan is here, and that's why he's here as well.
Logan had called him, his despairing voice crackly over the phone as music thumped loud enough for Alex to hear it on his end, the bass almost rattling the pencils on his desk.
He practically dropped everything to grab his keys at that point, a sickly drop of sweat forming along his eyebrow as he listened to Logan's strained breathing over the speaker. He had texted him the address earlier that day with a futile offer to come along; Alex had rejected him. He regrets it now.
Because Logan had sounded so unlike himself over the phone– he was frantic, panicked like when you remember you have a class in 20, and you're an hour commute away. He's always so cool, level headed, so him sounding like that made Alex's stomach churn something ugly.
Logan's shaky syllables echoed through his skull on the entire drive there; he had definitely broken multiple traffic laws, but he just had to remind himself that thie was for Logan's sakes. It would always be worth it for him.
Alex has to shove himself through body after body, almost feeling like he needs sunglasses with how bright the strobing lights are. He has no idea where Logan might be, and that thought horrifies him.
It shouldn't be so worrying– they're both adults; Logan has proven multiple times that he's capable of taking care of himself, and Alex feels silly being so worked up over it, but something about him tends to twist his heart that way.
It's like Logan has taken Alex's psyche and popped it into his mouth, swirled it around, tucked it under his tongue for safe keeping like a hard candy, left to melt until all that's left is Alex's raw, earnest core.
Sometimes Logan will laugh and it makes Alex feel 15 all over again; soft cheeks and Halo on his Xbox 360, immaturity slowly being replaced by taller bones and responsibilities. He makes Alex feel the same way he did when he got his first kiss, naive and full of teeth, desiring nothing but to eat the other person whole.
His train of thought is cut off once his eyes fall on a familiar slouched figure wedged into the furthest corner, crumpled into a soiled couch. He has his hands over his ears, and an uncharacteristic grimace has made itself home on his features.
Alex barely remembers walking up to him; someone had grumbled at him, told him to fuck off and watch where he's going, but none of that matters because Logan is safe, and he's looking at Alex with so much relief, like he's salvation.
He doesn't even attempt at talking to him– the music is too loud, the bass heady and overwhelming in their ears that it's basically pointless. Alex just grabs one of Logan's hands and carefully moves it away from his head so he can properly grasp it.
It's an imitation of something far too intimate for Alex's liking, the soft lines of Logan's smaller hand fitting gently into his own like it was carved for that very purpose.
The club is crowded, unsurprisingly considering it's a Friday night, and the wall of bodies has seemingly thickened since he arrived, so Alex tugs on Logan's hand a little too hard, ensures he sticks close. He didn't come all this way just to lose him again.
They eventually make it, and the sticky night air has never been such a blessing. The humidity tastes salty against his tongue and it's, in all honesty, a little too hot in Alex's opinion, but he can happily ignore it because Logan's finally relaxed, no longer wide-eyed and frightened like an alley cat.
He hasn't let go of Alex's hand, and he's pressed so close like he's afraid he might get lost again if he drifts too far. So, Alex shuffles, shifts his arm so it's wrapped around Logan's waist instead, safely securing him to his side.
The walk to the car isn't too far, but it's far enough that it gives both of them time to think. It let's Alex wonder– wonder why that whenever Logan is nearby, he feels like he should run away and hide, overwhelmed by emotions he hasn't felt since year 8. Why is it only Logan who's capable of tapping into the most beastial parts of Alex's psyche. Why is it him that can make him feel so scared and so brave all at once.
Logan murmuring something into his shoulder pulls him out of his own head, and Alex instinctually grasps Logan tighter to his torso when they walk past a group of rowdy teenagers, bottles of alcohol hanging loosely in their hands.
"What was that, sorry?" Alex whispers, wanting desperately to keep this moment between them, exclude themselves from all outside forces even though they're walking along a very public street.
"I said 'm sorry. I was being stupid, 'nd I only- I wanted..." Logan suddenly scoffs, a hard, labored breath that seems like it surprised him more than anyone, "I'll just tell you in the car,"
Alex just mumbles a soft 'okay' and leaves it at that, trusting that Logan will actually tell him, instead of doing his usual song and dance of avoid-distract-forget. Except Alex doesn't forget, he never does; how could he when there's been a conversation hanging between them that they should've had months ago.
"Here we are," Alex says a bit too loudly, miming triumph as he gestures towards the car. He cheers a bit mentally when Logan giggles, and when he pushes away to open the door, Alex spots an easy-going smile on his lips. It's ridiculously relieving seeing it, reassures him that this is still his Logan, and not some random kid he plucked off the street.
Although, that is kind of what happened. His roommate at the time was moving out and he had mentioned that there was a transfer student coming here for a semester, an American, who's housing plans had bailed on him, and Alex had rolled his eyes. He was absolutely not going to house an American.
But here he is, picking up said American at half past 1 in the morning from some club in the middle of town. And now that same American is slithering his hand over the center console, clumsily lacing his fingers with Alex's own.
"I was only going to go if you came with me, but then you kind of shot me down and I guess I felt... I dunno, betrayed?" Logan speaks slowly, and his words feel like they from the middle of a sentence that Alex didn't hear.
"I only wanted to be there with you."
The confession sends a dizzying pang of guilt through Alex's sternum, and he can't think up a reply. All he can do is bring Logan's hand up to his lips, pressing them gently against the soft flesh on the back of his hand.
It's hardly even a kiss, or really anything of the sort, and Alex can't begin to explain why he does it, only that it felt like the only appropriate response. Tenderness for the sake of articulating something he's been incapable of for months.
"I'm sorry, I should have been there with you," Alex mumbles into the back of Logan's hand.
When Alex finally chances a look back at him, Logan is already meeting him there, his eyes hooded and so exhausted, bogged down from the alcohol in his system. He can't help but unclasp his hand from Logan's and drag it up to thumb at his jaw, heal whatever ache might be present.
Logan is practically sitting on the center console now, and they're both leaning in, the closest they've ever been to each other, and yet it still feels like there's still a monumental distance between them.
"Alex," Logan whispers, "we should've- so long ago-"
"I know, I know," and their lips finally meet.
thank you for the request❤️

Justin’s outfit is peak 90’s suburban teenage boy
Tumblr media
He and Daphne definitely hung out at the mall, and THIS is the best he could come up with?
Tommy Hilfiger jeans and plaid button-down, paired with a Hanes undershirt and Lands End windbreaker.
He wore the Bulova watch he got it for his 16th birthday to look older.
The only way he could’ve looked younger would be if he wore Bugle Boy jeans.
Clothes purchased by Jenn from JC Penney (with a coupon) during the back-to-school sales.
You know she made him come out of the dressing room and do a 360 turn to see how the jeans fit.
He thought this was what he should wear to go clubbing and possibly lose his virginity?
He’s fortunate Brian gives zero fucks about his trick’s wardrobe.

top 5 perfumes, top 5 makeup products & top 5 songs you would play to bracha… 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🤭💘
ouhhh i haven’t actually gotten to smell very many perfumes that i liked 😔 i truly mostly don’t like anything (at least out of the things i’ve gotten to smell which is all like. drugstore available stuff like no niche perfumery things which i rly do want to get into!) howeverrr… i do have some that i like:
1. killian angel’s share (i WILL buy this for myself.. one day 🧿)
2. givenchy l’interdit rouge
3. d&g the only one = ysl libre intense
4. tom ford black orchid
5. fuckass lush honey i washed the kids LMFAO i really love it it’s my after-shower scent, doesn’t smell incredible upon first spritz but it develops into this gorgeous subtly sweet scent that i looove to go to sleep with. same goes for lush twilight but it’s a lavender scent so you’d hate it kfhskkd
makeup products well 🤭 i WOULD usually put l’oreal 24h matte foundation here prob as number one however i haven’t worn foundation in almost a full year now so!
1. fenty beauty gloss bombs yes they’re incredible yes they’re worth it. every single cent. i get one every time i travel somewhere w a Sephora LMAO i currently have fenty glow & fu$$y currently 💋
2. maybelline lifter gloss (currently own 5 tubes (moon, 2x silk, topaz, red flag and looking to get more i need one in every bag at every occasion. way cheaper but also way less thick/long lasting version of fenty)
3. maxfactor 2000 calories mascara in waterproof listen no matter how i flip it no matter which mascara i try (ive tried too faced, benefit, ysl, dior and soooo fawking ON) this one is just IT. the only one with such good separation and holding up a curl and lasting the entire day. my main girl always
4. nudestix! i have 3 shades rn (naughty n spice, bondi bae, in the nude) i use them depending on my mood for the day as blush & bronzer and they give such a beautiful sunkissed vibe i love them sm. longwearing too
5. maybelline age rewind (fuck you in advance teo) concealer in shade 5 brightener it’s so good stays all day doesn’t crease mwaaah mwah i also use it for spot concealing if i get spots 😌 gorgeous & cheap you gotta love it
BEST FOR LAST…. literally where do i beginnnn bang chan answer my calls i need you to HEAR my vision. this is just going to be off the top of my head bc if i really got out my playlists and started to get into this i’d need to quit my job to focus on this alone 🙏🏼
1. periferija by voyage & nucci i have already gone ON abt this and i want to show this to them with super selfish intent like to talk them into doing something similar bc i just really really truly need chan and changbin going STUPID on a balkan beat it’s actually crucial to me. lyrics gotta be in a similar vein too A JA JAK KAO TERIJER i know you know. these fits bc you KNOW i need the tank top + chain combo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. nad****a by zera oh listen this is again selfish of me bc i have this VISION of all of them doing this and ofc felix starts the song what with ‘dragon’ being in the meaning of his name and it’s gotta be a super dynamically shot video kinda like aespa supernova only at the club. felix insane face to voice ratio has to shock your system within the first 5 seconds of a song for it to truly HIT so he goes ‘ko zmaj bebo ja sam tako nadrkana’ [slaps the camera away from himself] ‘oko nas samo momci s lošim navikama’ [an almost 360 spin of the camera wherein you see bracha and then it gets to hyunjin who gets the next line] ‘ceo splav noćas popunjen je barbikama’ [zoom out to see all of danceracha aka my pretty dollface racha w hyunjin in the middle] i could go on. what i personally would change abt the song though is instead of the prechorus/verses i would do a lot of rapping i know my bracha would devour the track i am 100000% sure of it. the one other line i would NEED to keep is chan doing ‘gde god dođem imam pratnju kao predsednik’ ofc coupled w a shot of them all behind him 😌 uhm can you tell this was ALL i thought abt on todays walk LMFAOOOO i need to be like. sedated
3. keeping it SHORT NOW PROMISEEE i just gotta show nyokosuzi to my channieeeeeee i know he’d love it i know he’d relate jebeni lider etc you know how it goes i would LOVE to see his flustered face LMFAO you know how he writes the most suggestive nastiest lyrics and then pretends he doesn’t know shit. Yes exactly
4. opanci - nucci LOOK the nasty fucking tone of voice this man has just screams changbin to me and the mix of traditional singing w the rap strikes a chord to me (loš momak by nikolija another good example) i just think they’d both love it anddd sound so good on the track it’s a win win situation
5. a classic.. GLUH I NIJEM ZBOG NJE i can’t explain to you how much i want a bouncy beat from chan i know he’s got it in him ive heard what he can do. if they WANT to be pathetic i neeeeed ‘bacam ruže sto i jednu ružu na kučku bez duše ❤️‍🩹’ energy over a delicious beat and not fuckass lose my breath with underwhelming vocals type pathetic shit (+ bonus something like Divljam w the bouncy beat and added balkan spice in the instrumental PLUSS kako gleda me ko vučica vuka no no now ive said too much.)

LOOKS LIKE IT’S STORYBROOKE OR BUST!
Sixteen year old Emma and Eva Nolan are sick of watching their unhappily divorced parents dance around the fact that they are still very much in love and should be together. So they steal their fathers truck and take off on a whirlwind adventure that will force their parents to work together to retrieve them. Mary and David must follow a map of clues left by the twins hopefully rekindling their love for one another along the way.
“You think their freaking out yet?”
“Oh for sure. Knowing mom she’s already organized a town search party. Dad’s probably got his sheriff face on but you know he worries just as much.”
“Perfect. Means they’ll be together.”
“Exactly. Operation true love is a go.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Find us. That’s all the note said? I can’t believe they did this! Running away, stealing your truck! Well. Jokes on them. I’ve got life 360 on their phones.”
“I can. When the girls want something they do not take no for an answer. Their stubborn. Just like their mothe- all of our family. And Looks like they turned off their location settings.”
“Flag the plates then! You are the sheriff David.”
“That’s the first thing I did Mary. Nothing. You really expect less from Emma? She always covers her tracks. Seems our girls don’t want to be found in the traditional sense.. So map it is?”
“Tracks that Eva meticulously laid out. You know she’s the mastermind behind this. They really expect us to just follow this thing to wherever they see fit?”
“It would appear so. Time to put our years as co-presidents of the outdoors club to good use, Snow. You were the best tracker our school had ever seen.”
“How Charming of you to recall. Let’s go then. They are so grounded when we find them..”

Notice Me
Warnings: Suggestive
“MJ shut up!” “Hell no. I mean The FULL Princess is taking her time out to come with us to the damn club….Well you to the club.” “She was already here and besides I only invited her out because of you! She be hard body ignoring me most of the time.” Mj pauses. “The cap Ri she is legit busy you know that. You be sad as hell when she can’t take y’all normal nighttime call.”
Riri and MJ had not been out in months and with the weather finally warm this was the perfect time. To top it off she finally gets to see Shuri again. The two scientists talk/text when they can which is pretty regular. But lately Shuri has been traveling making it possible for Riri to see her again. This fact is causing Riri to be almost nervous. Being honest she has a bit of a thing for the Black Panther…she’s so special to Ri. When she says special to her it’s on every level. She thinks of her night and day and wants to hear her voice and feel her touch even if it’s just a hug even if she wants more. She has is bad for the Panther.
“Ri! Ri! Girl where do you go during these day dreams of yours. Also what in the world is this fit you must want to take something home tonight.” “Sorry and no where girl just thinking about equations you know. But maybe I wanna get me a little something.” Riri put the wild thoughts of her and Shuri in the back of her mind talking to MJ. “Mhm girl you was not thinking about not damn equations but ok.” Both young women laugh when a knock at the door booms.
Answering the door two Dora Milaje warriors in black are standing at the threshold. “Miss Williams we are here to escort you to the Panther.” RiRi recognizes the two guards as Ayo and Aneka of the Dora, these two are not Shuri’s normal guard. They must be here for a special reason.
“That’s our que! Hello Aneka and General Ayo.” Riri greets the women and pulls MJ to the door she has not been this excited in so long. The two women greet Ri and smile at each other with a knowing look. No one knows this because she really does no even admit it to herself how much she thinks of Shuri. Their bond has evolved to a very strong one but she still is self conscience at times wondering if Shuri even notices her. It sounds wild doesn’t it but still human…
“Damn this is not discreet at all.” Mj whispers as they fall in line with the Dora guards walking out of the dorm room they share. “Well she did give me a heads up she was sending them sorry.” Riri admitted as they kept walking. It was a needed measure because truth be told there has been some odd happenings at the outreach centers. Shuri voiced concerned about it one day to Riri so she wanted the extra protection for them all tonight. It is also the reason she has been traveling.
Walking to the door Riri almost stopped breathing. There she was Shuri the Black Panther of Wakanda standing outside the SUV in a form fitted black suit with no shirt her curls perfectly fluffed, the panther suit necklace around her neck and bottom golden grill in her mouth. She was waiting for them. “Damn she looks good as fuck. You sure you never hit that Ri?” “Shut your ass up. No I have not.” “Well why not girl look at her.” “STOP.” Riri was flushed a bit now the mere thought of anything physical with Shuri lit her on fire. When they exist the door to the outside Riri can hear Aneka and Ayo chuckle at the exchange.
“Ooooh well well Riri Williams you are a vision.” Shuri’s eyes behind her dark glasses are locked on Riri and never left. This is a long overdue visit she’s been missing the scientist so bad it hurt. Life since the Telokan battle has been complicated though to say the least. So tonight she wants to forget about it all and focus. “I can do something every now and then.” Riri turns to give a 360 but has to adjust her top which is a generous description of what she had on. She’s in a tasseled crop top that shows all skin. It’s paired with high waist jeans and silver heels so she can be a bit taller for the night. Shuri scoops her into a one armed hug and her spirit leaves her body how the hell is Shuri still that much taller than her. “Well you defiantly did it tonight.” Shuri’s warm accent fills Riri ear as she whispers to her.
Tonight is going to be hard.
“Ahem and I’m MJ Riri’s Best friend roommate you know.” Shuri laughs “Yes I have heard of you. Ri cherishes your friendship shall we go?” “Is that right we’ll she cherishes yours too so that’s cool.” “Is that so?” The royal is still holding onto the scientist as MJ gets into the SUV first. “Oh yea she can’t even sleep at night unless she hears from you.” Mj was being messy but the Panther shot a look at Ri when she heard that smiling to herself. “Well thanks for letting me know I’ll have to make sure she is always rested then.” The chatter from there falls into mundane small talk. What did Shuri mean was she going to be sending good night texts or some Riri was in a crazy daze over analyzing the words.
“Hey ladies how about something to drink? What would you like?” “Anything is fine really so we can get loose. We are too sober.” MJ spoke up in response to the royal. Riri and Shuri had forgotten she was there for a moment considering they where almost cuddled up on the bench seat. “I want clear vodka or tequila.” Riri chimes in as her brain logs back into the conversation. In the past she would pick up on certain statements that Shuri would say. And it could be taken as flirting or as her being nice. But tonight something was different about Shuri’s energy. She whispered in her ear and even behind the glasses Riri knew the Panther’s eyes have been on her the entire time so far. This is different.
Shuri passes the drinks around. “Let’s drink to having some time to get loose.” “I’ll drink to that.” They all down the shot and it rushes over them. “Let me get some more.” MJ exclaims and they drink a few more each.
Pulling up at the club everyone files out and Shuri tucks Riri under her right arm as they are escorted inside to a VIP section. *Horns* “In the house tonight is none other than the Black Panther!!!” The dj announces their arrival and Ayo and Aneka instantly disperse into the crowd to stand guard. The drinks are taking over and all three girls make it to the section and start to dance. MJ and Riri dance to the song on the loud speaker and Shuri looks on a little bit stoic. It’s not her style of music yet so just zeros in on how Ri is moving her body. The section bottle comes to the table.
Tonight is the night no more stalling Shuri is gone make her move. Shuri maybe lowkey but her feelings for the scientist are just as strong if not stronger. The royal has never felt like this before. EVER. At least not about another human. Every free moment her mind will drift to Riri Williams. She thinks of how she’s doing, what is she doing, how can she take care of her and how beautiful she is. Her mind is also sometimes not so pure either, those are her favorite thoughts. The problem is being who she is social cues have never been her thing so she was never sure if the times she has flirted or said things to her it registered. That stops tonight she’s on a mission and so far it seems to be working the energy is different. In a good way.
Riri is feeling good so far and is moving with a certain confidence knowing that her Panther is watching her every move tonight. “Yo girl she is eye fucking you tonight behind them glasses I’m telling you.” Mj has no filter at all speaking to Ri over the music. “Girl you know what I think you right but I don’t know what to do.” “To stop teasing her and go over there. Make something happen.” Mj’s pep talk works.
Riri makes her way to Shuri leaning in over her and I her ear whisper. “Baby are you even having fun?” Riri took a chance on the name as she’s talking. “Oh yea I’m fine Umntwana but I’m better that you are here.” Shuri whispers back reaching up to grip Riri’s waist and pulls her down to her. “We’ll have to dance when the right song comes on.
Riri reaches taking off Shuri’s glasses so she can lock eyes with her for the first time tonight and they are pitch black. There is only ONE reason that is. She really was eye fucking her good lord that made her blood run hot. With Shuri’s strong hands on her body holding her down. “So about this not sleeping, how can I help?” “I just need to hear your voice every night is all.” “What about tonight you stay with me and I’ll make sure of that.” Just then the song that makes her move every time comes on and Riri rocks her hips *ALL MINE* Brent Faiyaz. The slight friction of Riri’s grinding prompts Shuri to stand up and makes sure her scientist is close. Swaying almost as one to the music the royal’s strong tattooed hands are gentle but something about where they are placed is searing Riri’s skin. Riri leans her head back to grip onto Shuri’s neck as they dance the friction of her back and ass on Shuri feels so good. What helps is how each of her movements are met. Shuri’s face is in the crook of neck the steady warm breaths make her hotter.
Shuri bites down on her pulse and it’s mind numbing. They have totally forgotten they are in the club and with a turn of her head Riri catches Shuri’s lips licking out slowly to deepen the kiss with them moaning in harmony. It’s slow but a sensual kiss filled deep desire and a lot of unspoken passion. Shuri shift her hands to grab lower onto Riri and it elects another moan for the shorter women. “You better get it Bitch!” Mj shouts from the couch. The far too intimate moment was called out just in time or it was going to be something completely different going on. *You decided to be here with me* Love in this club is now playing. “Shit, we gone have to finish this later.” Shuri says it so casual and calm making it hard to focus again for Ri. “I was coming with you anyway remember.” With that Riri gets pulls away bending over shake her ass for Shuri and they dance remainder of the night.
Finally they have noticed each other.

Superior Style || No. 7 w/ Yamato and Portgas D. Ace
Flufftober Masterlist
Word Count: 360
Ace and Yamato were fixing their respective outfits after a battle.
“Ace, could I borrow your hat?”
“I doubt that it would fit on your head.”
“Are you saying that I have a big head?” Yamato raised an eyebrow.
“Yes.. and your horns would fuck it up anyway.” Ace crossed his arms with a snarky smile.
“You’re such an ass,” Yamato grinned as he playfully slapped Ace on the back. Ace lets out a hiss and rubs his back.
“Could you hit me any harder?”
“Yeah actually, come on I still have energy, lets spar a little,”
“What would we win?”
“You'll admit that i would you better in your hat ”
“”You only want my hat because I have a superior style” Ace grinned with confidence. Yamato let out a laugh that was more of a snort.
“As if you underdressed cowboy”
“Okay Mr. Worn the same outfit since childhood,” Ace quipped back as we walked back to make space as they prepared for the fight.
“Hey wha- I told you that in confidence man!” Yamato said ready to join his club.
Lunging forward, Yamato swung his club. Ace jumped back to counter, his fire whipped forward towards Yamato, who extinguished the closest flames by creating wind with their club.
The two went on back and sparred as the minutes passed by. Ace rested his hands above his head as he let out short breaths.
“Don’t tell me you're getting tired,” Yamato teased, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
“You're the one that looks tired.” Ace said with a breathy counter.
They were tired, yet neither of them was going to admit it outloud. They both dropped to the ground with a sigh.
“This could have all been avoided if you had just let me wear your hat.” Yamato laughed. Ace throws his hat to Yamato and it lands on his face with a light thud.
“Don’t mess it up alright, “ Ace said with a sigh, looking up at the sky with a tired look on his face.
“I would never. “
“Yeah you better not, Giant.”

Travel guide for the US GP in Austin, TX
Going to the race in ATX and have some downtime during the weekend? Here are some tips from a local about how to enjoy the city on a budget.
So I thought it would be fun to spend a bit of time putting together a brief guide about low cost options of what to do in Austin if you have extra time over the weekend to spend in the city. Even if you're not going to the race, this is just a general guide to Austin so feel free to save this if you plan to travel here in the future.
My goal is to not recommend most of the generic things from travel sites and instead explain my favorite hotspots. I tried to include low cost things that don’t really require any preparation or reservations.
Please ask me you have more questions about places in ATX, I love answering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
General tips
Avoid driving as much as you possibly can. Traffic here is insane. Public transportation in the city is lacking, so plan to spend extra time traveling. I recommend taking the busses. Yes there are also Lime scooters and bikes that you can ride.
Most restaurants offer live music in the evenings and I would recommend staying if you want to enjoy a bit of the city’s classic charm.
Rainey Street (an area with bars and food trucks) is amazing but if you choose to go, I do warn you that it might be really busy. Same with South Congress.
Parking is a nightmare so prepare for that. Again I recommend taking the bus (or Uber if it fits your budget). Download the CapMetro app on your phone.
Don’t go to Zilker Park unless you’re going for Austin City Limits. The festival is happening all weekend at the park and you need tickets.
Try out as many food trucks as possible. Almost all of them are delicious. They offer BBQ, tacos, Tex-Mex, a huge variety of international dishes, desserts, ice cream, etc.
Touristy things that are worth it (in my opinion)
Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail - perfect for the outdoors. Fun fact: Bottas went on a bike ride on some trails here during last year’s race, I bet he’ll do it again.
Barton Springs Pool - may be a bit chilly depending on the weather but worth it
SoCo (South Congress) - essentially a strip of shops, restaurants, etc. that are the heart of Austin
Swap the Mount Bonnell hike for the 360 Pennybacker Bridge outlook. Better views.
– Must Do’s –
6th Street - If you love nightlife or want to go clubbing or bar hopping, this is the place to be. I don’t have any specific recommendations because I guarantee you’ll end up having a great time.
Reminder: Drinking age is 21 here and every bar does check your ID so don’t think you can slip past if you’re not 21+.
Coffee shops and cafes - Similar to the 6th Street advice, you can’t go wrong with any coffee shop here, I promise. But a few of my favorites are:
Hank’s - boho aesthetic, lots of space indoors, also has good food
Easy Tiger - this place is a cafe, bakery, bar, and beer garden all in one
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters - Service isn’t always the best, but you make up for that with the incredible lake view. Worth it. They also offer live music in the evenings.
Cafe Medici - vibes and good drinks, you’ll also probably find lots of students here studying and enjoying a break from classes
Lucky Lab Cafe - There’s a location that’s by the university with an outdoor patio. If the day isn’t too hot, it’s nice to sit outside.
Austin City Limits - If you can find last minute tickets for a day, then I highly recommend it! The festival goes on the entire weekend so you can pick the day(s) you go.
Outdoor favorites. Be active. Take pictures. Enjoy life.
360 Bridge outlook - perfect photo spot, gorgeous view of the lake, preferably at sunrise or sunset
The Oasis - restaurant with the best views, about a 40 minute drive from downtown Austin
Nature Trails - Barton Creek greenbelt, Mount Bonnell (short hike with a view of Lake Austin), Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail (view of downtown Austin skyline)
Rowing Dock - offers paddleboard rentals if you want to glide down Lady Bird Lake see the downtown city skyline from the water
Lake Austin, Lake Travis, Lady Bird Lake
Eat food in beautiful places. Food here consists of mainly tacos, BBQ, and Tex-Mex. Enjoy it.
The County Line - great BBQ with a bonus of being by the lake
But stay away from BBQ places downtown like La Barbecue and Franklin’s which have long wait times.
The Oasis - Expensive/mediocre food, but gorgeous view of the lake at sunset
The Hula Hut - Tex-Mex and a bit of everything on the menu, by the lake. It’s super crowded but they have a bar area outside where you can seat yourself without waiting.
Chuy’s - the best Tex-Mex you’ll ever eat
Torchy’s Tacos - some of the best tacos in Austin
Jet ski or rent a boat on Lake Travis - if you love the water, head down to 360 bridge boat ramp and ask about rentals. This is the one thing that might require prior preparation, but I highly recommend it if you're able.
Mansfield Dam Park - great lake views, areas to hike and swim even if you don't have a boat. 45 minutes from downtown. $5 cash entrance fee per person.
There are so many more as well. Austin is a great city and you can't go wrong with any activity that you do.

I Guess I Miss(ed) You (Amandine Henry OLPlay Exit Interview)
I think two things can be true at the same time: there is a legitimate debate as to whether Amandine Henry forged Olympique Lyonnais into her image or whether Olympique Lyonnais forged Amandine Henry into their own; and Amandine Henry fucked over the love of her life out of spite. The two are not mutually exclusive. In some ways, it's what makes this love affair so messy and complex. Isn't that how all proper breakups go?
Sonia Bompastor has a ton of faults but if we're being honest with each other, everything that she has said about Amandine Henry's attitude towards Lyon thus far has been correct. I don't think Sonia Bompastor is a particularly good coach. I also think she was telling the truth about Amandine Henry.
Anyway. As I said, when a relationship has lasted as long as Henry's did with Lyon, it was only going to end one of two ways: cemented in stone as Telefoot predicted back in 2015, or messy, bitter, and complicated. As Taylor Swift once mused, "did this love affair maim you, too?"
Based on the exit interview, both Lyon and Amandine Henry would probably answer as follows: yes, it did.
Two vindictive sociopaths wanting to keep score on the other? How could you not look at that and think, well, yeah, of course it would end this way. Neither party really knows what their life will look like now that the other walked out of it completely. If we're being honest, neither party wants to.
Alexa, play "I Hope" by Gabby Barnett.
AMANDINE HENRY OLPLAY INTERVIEW
Henry: Well we are here today to say goodbye. Not farewell but goodbye because I will soon be leaving the club. It's been 16 years that I have been at Lyon. And yeah, it's time for me to spread my wings and fly away, and sign with another club. And obviously it won't be in France, but in the United States, in Los Angeles. And I am happy to have experienced all these years at Lyon. And I'm happy to try new things elsewhere.
Timothee: This was a really important page in your life, I can imagine.
Henry: Oh yeah, yeah. It was a big part of my life. 16 years, it's not nothing. I came as a little girl [she was 17], and now I am leaving as a woman. So I learned a lot of things, be it on the field but also a lot off of it. I, yeah, I matured. I also caught the Lyon DNA, the winning mentality. I have won an enormous amount of trophies with the club, with all the players, all the coaches. So yeah. There's a lot of emotion.
Timothee: Do you know the number of games you played for Lyon? [Henry exhales] Roughly?
Henry: 360?
Timothee: There are six too many, 354.
Henry: 354, yeah.
Timothee: You're third behind Wendie [Renard] and Eugenie [Le Sommer].
Henry: Yeah.
Timothee: It shows the extent you wore this jersey, the extent to which you made your mark in this history of this club.
Henry: I don't know if I made history. But in any case I was here for a long time. 350 games, sorry, 354 games, it went quickly. But things definitely happened. And yeah it hasn't really sunk in for me. I think it will only sink for me later. But yeah. Between the Champions League, all the Coupe de France, the leagues.. There was a lot of things.
Timothee: Well, unfortunately the last time we saw you on the field, I think a lot of people were afraid after they saw the images. Me included, you included as well I imagine. Is everything better now?
Henry: Yeah, the knee is healed, everything is good. [Note that Le Progres had reported that Henry was fit to play the last games of the season but refused to do so because she didn't want to risk injuring herself before the transfer to Angel City]. I can play again, no worries. It's true that I was more scared than anything else. But that's also part of your career as a player.
Timothee: That's good to hear. It doesn't happen often so I guess we'll take it. When you came here as a 17-year-old, did you expect you would only leave 16 years later, with more than 350 games played and I think 30 trophies if my maths is correct.
Henry: No. No, I didn't imagine that would happen at all. When I arrived, I remember I came here for the first time with my parents, I had just left Clairefontaine [French national football academy]. And actually I cried. I was crying and my parents were like "why?" And I was like, "well this means I am never coming home." And I think that's when I understood that Lyon would become my life. I didn't think it would be 16 years though. 16 years is a lifetime, if we're being honest. And now I think I am going to cry because I'm leaving. But - [Henry's voice cracks]
Timothee: It's half your life, exactly.
Henry: [voice cracking] Yeah. Yeah, that's huge.
Timothee: It's huge when we look at how the story got to this point. There are so many clips of wins, so many clips of happiness. It's pretty exceptional. I imagine you realize that.
Henry: No, I don't think I've really let it sink it, because I'm still involved in it. I think it will be once my career is over, when I've retired, that I will be like "it's true, we've experienced so much together, all the players, these exceptional teams." [Henry's voice cracks again] And the Champions Leagues, obviously. The first one we won together. And as you said, there was an enormous amount of sacrifices, but yeah, it was all worth it, because - yeah. Beyond the trophies, it's about emotions. Those will stay with you.
Timothee: That first Champions League, the first one Lyon won. Can you tell us about it? When we talk to players about it, they all say that that one was special. If I remember correctly, the previous year, it was complicated for you.
Henry: Yeah, I missed the penalty. If I had scored we would have won.
Timothee: And then that happened.
Henry: And then we won. And when you win it for the first time, it's exceptional. I remember it was at Fulham. When we scored, the celebrations after. All the players, all the staff. Yeah. The Board of Directors were there, the employees. It was a moment of glory.
Timothee: In reality you had a pretty symbolic career in women's football. You experienced it all. You experienced the beginnings when everything was just becoming professional, Lyon's rise as a powerhouse, you were there for that. Well it was in part thanks to you. The media aspect. You saw all that grow.
Henry: Well I remember, when I came as a 17-year-old, we didn't even have our own locker room. We had to go home with our stuff. It wasn't even professional contracts. And then there was the big stadium, everything became professional, there was a massive evolution at Lyon. When I look at when I arrived and now when I'm leaving, a lot of things changed.
Timothee: You were really at the core, everything happened in front of your eyes.
Henry: Yeah, I experienced all that.
Timothee: You witnessed it all. Do you realize that you made history? Well, Olympique Lyonnais Feminin made history. But you as well. You're part of the names written in the history books.
Henry: I don't know. I hope Lyon won't forget me, because I will remember everything I experienced. After, we're all just anecdotes. But I think our names will be in the history books because we were first players at Lyon to have won the Champions League, and won so many trophies. And I don't know - well I hope I made a good lasting impression.
Timothee: I don't think Lyon will forget you. It's important to highlight it wasn't always smooth sailing, and there was a severe knee injury early on which could have ended your career. It's a story you've told before, but it's important to remember it's something you had to go through.
Henry: Yeah. When I came to Lyon, they detected a cartilage problem in knee in the first year I was there. I had to be operated on. And when I met the surgeon, he said that the operation wasn't standard and that I might never be able to play professional football again. And maybe that's what motivated me, because I got it in my head that if you want to do something, your body will follow. But it wasn't easy, that's for sure. It was a roll of the dice. Either I came back or I wouldn't be able to play again.
Timothee: Do you think that's what forged your mentality, the one we know you for?
Henry: Oh yeah. That's for sure, because if you say I'm not going to play football again, you're taking away my reason for living. It was everything to me. I was living, breathing football. And yeah that shapes you, because you know you're so close to not be able to play football again. In those difficult moments you just have to say to yourself there are worse things in life, and that you haven't done all this for nothing.
Timothee: And exactly, that mental strength that you have, it's what makes you stand out. It allowed you to have some exceptional performances, with always that will to win and that ability to basically play at any position. It can't always be easy as a player, because you're the one that has to bail the team out, but you're also in a team, and that's really valuable. It's so important to have players like that.
Henry: Yeah, it's true that I have played a lot of different positions. But after, it was to help out the team so I was happy to do it. And after, it's also the Lyon DNA. You do what it takes to win. You can ask any player who has been here, you can tell there are moral values that have been passed on. That desire to win is so engrained in you, even for the smallest thing, the smallest thing in practice, the smallest practice game, you have to want to win. And that's what the Lyon DNA is.
Timothee: And what would you makes you able to play basically any position?
Henry: No, I can help out, but - I mean, I tried. I think that when you like football, you learn to adapt. And I was well surrounded as well. I had good teammates, good coaches who gave me confidence.
Timothee: You're also a player who shows up in big games. I remember the games last year, the double confrontation against PSG in the Champions League. You just show up in big games. How do you explain that ability to step up in the big games?
Henry: Because you have to push yourself. When you're playing the big games, you're often in the big stadiums, the pitch is perfect. There's everything in place to play a big game. So that's it. It's simple really, when I leave the hotel and we're heading towards the stadium, even in the bus, that's where I think everything comes into play. During the trip, my heart starts racing, you're feeling all the emotions, and then you go into automatic pilot. And that's why I like football, it's for the big games.
Timothee: The more important the game, the stronger the emotions. In reality it changes you.
Henry: Yeah, exactly. That's it. It's - yeah.
Timothee: And of course, the perfect example of that is the final [against Barcelona].
Henry: Yeah, that.
Timothee: And that unbelievable goal. I went crazy over that goal. Can you tell us about it?
Henry: Actually, as soon as I won the ball I knew I was going to shoot. I said to myself, take the shot, just take the shot. If it goes wide then it goes wide, if it goes in then even better. And when I scored, I remember that the families were seated on the other side, so I wanted to run over there, but it was too far, and the players were stopped me halfway. And I just let it all out, because the season had been so hard mentally because of all the injuries the team had been subjected to, and all that. And for me personally as well it had been hard [Henry had had to play CB which she hates, being left out the French National Team, etc]. And I just let it all out. And I'll be honest, for the next 5-10 minutes I found it so hard to get back into the game. And I really had just let everything out on that goal. Everything was let out all at once. And it was just the accumulation of everything. And then it was Barcelona, everyone was saying they were favorites, everyone was saying Lyon was finished, etc. So yeah. I let everything out when I took that shot.
Timothee: I understand. It explains the power, you really put everything into it.
Henry: Yeah. Everything was there. It's something you only see in your dreams. You're in the final of the Champions League against Barcelona and you take a shot like that. I didn't really believe it myself.
Timothee: What are the moments that stand out for you in your time at Lyon?
Henry: Well first of all when I first signed with Lyon when I was 17. It was such a huge moment for me, I was going to play with the best players in France, even in the world. I was playing next to Camille Abily, Louisa Necib, there were a lot of big names. So I couldn't believe it. So I said to myself, this is where it begins. And then there was the first Champions League final that we won. That was a really big moment. After, I'm not sure I'm really allowed to say this, but the celebrations at Saint-Tropez, with the players. (#DrunkOL). And then all the league trophies, the moments shared with the players in the locker room, the trips. There's a lot of things.
Timothee: It's interesting how the group evolves but there is something that stays year after year. The team changes and evolves, new players come in, but the integration seems to really work. It works because we feel each year that the group is special, that each win is special, and it's also a team win.
Henry: Yeah, it's because I don't think that people realize there are enormous sacrifices during the season. It's long, it's so long. You often have lingering injuries, loss of confidence. Sometimes it's this player, something it's that one. And sometimes it's like a family, because we're together sometimes 14 hours a day. We see each other more than our families. So you have to have solidarity. And if we want to win, if we want to continue winning, that DNA has to be passed on. All the groups we've had, that's why they've been successful, the Lyon DNA.
Timothee: And each year you have new players who are integrated. Last year it was Lindsey [Horan], whom you already knew really well. It must have been nice to have her here. And you maybe already knew it, but she came in, we saw her play some excellent games from the beginning, but you already knew she could do that.
Henry: Yeah, I played with her in Portland. I already knew she was a great person, so that's important, and a superb player as well. So I wasn't surprised to see her shine.
Timothee: What can you tell us about your future? You already mentioned the next club. What is the future going to look like for you?
Henry: Yeah, so I signed with Los Angeles [Angel City]. In the short term, there's the World Cup coming up. I hope to be a part of it. So that's the short term. After -
Timothee: It would be nice to be a part of it.
Henry: For sure. After everything I went through as well. Winning it would be nice as well.
Timothee: While we're at it.
Henry: Yeah. There's Los Angeles [Angel City], which I want to commit to as well. It will allow me to prepare myself for after I retire, bring my English back and get all that in order. And I hope to become a mother in the next few years as well.
Timothee: You already an American adventure when you were in Portland. You liked it enough to return.
Henry: Yeah. Beyond the football, it was a superb experience, you learn so much, a new culture, a new way of working. And then the US - well, it's Los Angeles, so I think it'll be a nice place.
Timothee: On a personal level, it's a big thing as well. That's football as well. And Lyon was that as well, somewhere where you experienced so much as a person. So there's a part of you that's looking for some more. But I imagine that it's important in sports to also have the personal element.
Henry: Yeah. For me it's almost fundamental. If you win a trophy but you don't feel anything, something's wrong. As I was telling you earlier, it's what you remember. And in Los Angeles [Angel City], it's a club that's starting to evolve, it's barely two years old, their history is only beginning to be written. So I hope I can contribute to it.
Timothee: And bring all of your experience, and your knowledge of how to win.
Henry: I hope so.
Timothee: Is there anything you'd like to add? Something you'd like to say before we wrap up?
Henry: [voice cracks] I would like to say thank you. Thank you to all my teammates, all the staff members, everyone who has supported me, who encouraged me, who allowed me to be here today. [Henry starts crying] And thank you to Lyon, really. The Lyon family. And I hope to be back one day. That's it.
Timothee: Well we're far from being able to forget you. And I think that for everyone who has followed Lyon, it's up to us to say thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for the club, Amandine.
Henry: Thank you.

iANO - Nothing Special Court
(Hypnagogic Pop, Experimental Rock, Ambient)
A massive, hour-and-a-half-long expedition through the various realms of Chris McCracken's lofi electronica, Nothing Special Court provides the most enjoyable and rounded group of tracks in this vein for him yet. By injecting hazy ambient atmospheres into these songs rather than the other way around, the overwhelming atmospheres of his bitcrushed pop tunes are placated by genuinely enchanting songcraft.
☆☆☆☆
It's hard to talk about Chris McCracken's music without at least mentioning his importance as a progenitor of heXD and noisy, bitcrushed-to-hell electronica over the past few years: his 2021 debut Dispossession still stands as one of the former genre's strongest works, and even when it came to this April's neon hi-fi marvel Life Cycles, songs like Storm Fabric and Bliss brought just enough grit and fuzziness to things to ensure the album never became too one-dimensional in its progressive electronic experiments. What did throw me off, though, was this summer's There's No River, where McCracken embraced a gloomier aesthetic that drowned in noisy ambiance and anxious post-punk, an interesting change of pace but with the sacrifice of all the compositional richness his music thrived on - it felt like There's No River was being starved of the depth and expressiveness of McCracken's other projects by way of its monochromatic presentation. So, when a surprise hour-and-a-half long second helping of similarly lo-fi tunes landed Friday morning last week, I wasn't all too sure what to expect: McCracken's shown time and time again his incredible attention to detail and ability to add tons of color to electronica's coldest sides, but meshing it with the avant-pop side of his discography not too long ago brought about quite mixed results. Thankfully, Nothing Special Court completely reimagines how McCracken's hypnagogic pop songs come to life, the album's lengthy runtime and massive tracklist showing off every side of his sound in thrillingly innovative ways. Smothered in high pass, reverb and compression, songs like Nothing and Special speak the language of dance music but distort it until it's near unintelligible, bright synth melodies and chunky drum programming that would normally be fit for a club turned into a lightning spell for the dead of night, while the shoegaze crawl of The Bones and This Will Happen adds even more fuzz to My Bloody Valentine-indebted noise pop. The challenge of There's No River was McCracken trying to fit these heavy post-punk tunes into thin and wispy ambient atmosphere, but by injecting hazy ambient atmospheres into these songs rather than the other way around, the overwhelming atmospheres of his bitcrushed pop tunes are placated by genuinely enchanting songcraft, the folksy lean of Passing Cards juxtaposed by a chintzy toy piano and Keeper's mall-commercial new wave genuinely sounding like it's being shot right out of an old CRT despite its energetic instrumentation. Rather than feeling stiff and awkward trying to mix chilly ambiance with chilly instrumentals, McCracken picks some of the sunniest genres out there - trance, pop, country, dream pop - and finds ways for swarms of noise and distortion to blanket them and create his desired worlds. And if the hour thirty runtime puts you off for any reason, don't go into Nothing Special Court expecting the same thing twice - McCracken's never been one to stick his music in a box, and that's especially so here. He hits on everything from doo-wop (First Encounter) to twangy Americana (Joseph) to groovy ambient techno (Nothing), influences from Naked Flames and James Ferraro to Tom Waits and Alex G dotted all across the album's 33 tracks. Though its gigantic tracklist and long runtime might lend itself to background listening, fully submitting yourself to all of Nothing Special Court's whiplashing 360s and random detours brings about a listening experience like no other this year: it's strange, jumping from The Expanse, Pt. 1's cinematic balladry to the ditzy waltz of Faces Drawn, but it all works in tandem because of the single world McCracken conjures them all in, like flipping through channels on a TV connected to a half-broken antennae. Cryptic and dense as Nothing Special Court is, there's a magic and wonder to how McCracken fits everything together and makes it feel like one solid block of avant-pop surreality, able to take the strangest bits of his sound and stick them all together beautifully. I'll probably always be partial to the cleaner, cooler sound of Life Cycles, but Nothing Special Court is the most interesting and compelling take on lo-fi electronica McCracken's released yet, and making an hour and a half of it stand tall all the way through is an undeniable accomplishment. As he jumps from idea to idea with abandon, he never treats any one song with less love than the ones surrounding it, sporadic in his style and song structures but never changing the core of what makes his music so enthusiastic and earnest no matter where he's taking it. It's a lot to digest, but Nothing Special Court is as engaging and passionate as any of McCracken's more concise releases: take your time with it, and everything unfolds beautifully.

압사 사고에서 살아남는 방법
Basically when people start to move in very high density crowds, each individual physically doesn't have enough space around them to behave like a normal person who acts based on decisions anymore, but rather the entire crowd starts moving like a fluid, forced forward by the pressure of the people walking forwards behind them. We're talking densities of 5+ people per square meter (you can roughly equate 4 people per square meter to being in a tightly packed crowd but still being able to move 360 degrees, just brushing up on people on all 4 sides. At about 5-6 people/meter^2 you start to lose that freedom of movement). The crowd starts to literally behave by the laws of fluid dynamics, and can experience shockwaves that ripple up and back through the mass of people when a push comes from any given direction... anyone who's been in a moshpit knows what I'm talking about.
These crowd densities aren't dangerous in themselves until you start reaching more than 8+ people/meter2 , however starting at about 5-6 they become extremely risky to facilitate movement in for two major reasons: 1) the risk of hitting a choke point and 2) the risk of someone falling over.
The first one results in what is called 'crowd crush'. This is where you have an extremely large and high density crowd, typical for those seen at events like the Hajj, moving in one direction in a confined space. This can be as wide as a city block or as narrow as a hallway. The crowd will be moving in its desired direction, but as soon as it hits a choke point, such as a blocked entrance, a sharp turn, a single open doorway, or even another high density crowd coming from the opposite direction, the people at the front face a serious problem. They are not merely walking anymore, they are being carried in the crowd fluid and could not stop if they tried (and would probably fall over). Survivors of crushes have described the experience like you're being carried by a river of people. The people at the very front of the crowd (who are not at dangerous densities) will make it through the choke point, unless it's a blocked entrance of course, but the high density crowd inevitably follows, carried by force. If the choke point is too narrow for the entire crowd to fit through, people literally just plug it up and are unable to squeeze through the gap anymore, and are being evermore crushed by the force of people behind them. For a morbid but good example of this, watch the video of the Station Nightclub fire that happened in 2001 2003 (NSFW/NSFL). For those who don't want to watch, basically what happened is a fire broke out in a nightclub, and nobody really bothered to run for the emergency exits (plus some other things but another post entirely) but instead all pushed for the front door. When the crowd density trying to leave the club out of the double doors became too great, the people got stuck and knocked over in the doorway, and bodies kept piling on top of more bodies from the flow of people behind until there was a helpless 6ft high pile of people with their heads and arms sticking out the front door packed too tightly for anyone on the outside to wedge them free.
Here's the fucked up part though: people do not die from being 'trampled' as if everyone is wildly running around and stepping on each other, in fact there's literally no way that's possible because people couldn't be running around in high density crowds even if they wanted to. What they die from is compressive asphyxiation (yes, suffocation by crushing) from the sheer force of all of the weight of bodies being stacked on top of them. In the worst of choke points, a completely blocked exit, people can be crushed standing up because they breathe out and simply cannot overcome the pressure of all of the people around them to breathe back in. That happens at densities of about 12+ p/sqm. 'Crowd pressure' has been known to collapse walls, bend steel guard rails, and of course kill a shitload of people.
The next scenario, and in my opinion the much more horrifying one, is crowd collapse. This happens when a high density crowd is moving and someone falls over. If you can imagine yourself in a fluid-like crowd, the pressure of the person behind you pushes you forward, and in turn you exert the pressure on the person in front of you, facilitating the crowd's (the fluid's) movement. If suddenly the person in front of you falls, they are no longer there for you to 'lean on' (to exert pressure on to), and guess what? You fall too. And the person behind you. And the person behind them, and anyone who tries to help someone else up, all just being pushed against their will into the new wall of bodies in front of them. The crowd collapses behind the original hole. Aaaaand now you have a choke point, just made of bodies. Surprisingly even here the main cause of death is almost always compressive asphyxia rather than trampling, as the pressure just gets too great when you have 2000lb of flesh on top of you. The crowd doesn't even have to be moving very fast for this to happen (or even can be stationary in the case of a grandstand collapse ), and is especially dangerous when the people are moving down a steep or slippery slope.
Here's the kicker: in both of these scenarios the death tolls are so high because the people in the back of the crowd, propagating the crowd force, are almost always too far away to know what's going on at the crush point. These sorts of crowds are extremely noisy and essentially impossible to stick your head up and over to get a better view, this combined with the fact that the back of crowds are usually at safe densities and people have no reason to panic and just keep walking means that the people at the front have no choice but to be crushed. Or in the case of a fire, where people sometimes are aware of what's happening in the front, they will simply keep pushing because it's either that or wait to die, worsening the crush at the front. Hundreds upon hundreds of people can be screaming for help and for people to stop or turn back... the ones who can hear them are already too stuck in the flow to do anything, and the ones who can do something can't hear.
So now the Hajj. This annual event is basically something any Muslim (who is able) has to do in their lifetime, and involves traveling to Mecca and surrounding areas over the span of four days to perform some religious rituals and visitations etc. The super short timespan of this event and the insane amount of people it draws means there's a huge amount of high density crowd movement, and one of the most notorious areas is a city called Mina, by which a particular ritual called the Stoning of the Devil is performed. Basically people need to throw rocks at a particular set of pillars, and so as you can imagine there's a giant potential for dangerously packed crowds when you have to move so many people to such a small location. This particular one happened when one road was closed in Mina and people didn't follow the detour or something (the news isn't very reliable because these events become so political for some reason), and basically two extreme density crowds coming from opposite directions collided in a single intersection, causing the pileup you're reading about above. There was also extreme heat on that day; you'll get people dropping like flies once densities start to get crush-worthy. There has been a crush or a collapse at the Hajj that's killed hundreds of people roughly every two years for the past couple of decades.
In fact, the global rate of crushes has increased exponentially in the past ~50 years or so as cities have become dense and urbanization is commonplace, this is a real problem that you may encounter in your own lifetime. If you do realize you're in a crowd that's heading towards a crush, unfortunately it probably means it's too late for you at that point. However, if you're actually serious about avoiding one of the most horrible deaths you could imagine, whenever you start to notice you're in a crowd that is reaching dangerous densities (4+) and is starting to behave like a fluid, you can work to get out of it. The key is the shockwaves you'll feel travel through everyone as the pressure pushing y'all starts to outpace how fast you can physically move. These are the sorts of crowds that if someone steps on your foot you'll probably lose your shoe because your foot will simply be carried out of it by the movement of the crowd. When you feel a shockwave, absolutely do not fight it. That's one of the quickest ways to fall over. What you should instead do is let it carry you wherever it needs to, and then immediately start moving sideways, and diagonally backwards if that's possible, avoid falling over at all costs though. You simply want to GET OUT of that crowd at that point (even if it's headed somewhere you needed to be) however possible. People may start dying. And you may be one of them.
EDIT: If you do every find yourself in the worst-case scenario and are knocked over, attempt to fall in a rigid fetal position (arms over your face and chest) to attempt to make room for your lungs to breathe. One man survived the Station Fire (NSFW/NSFL) by doing this and having a small supply of fresh air, protected from the fire by a man-made heat shield.
