3D Mappi and Mikoto!!!
it's them!! the sillies!!
Tumblr media
took me 2 days to draw mikoto's face, i underestimed how hard it is to draw front view eyes in 3d 😭 i should've made haruka, kotoko or es instead, at least i only have to draw one eye
+ with background and different lightings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i didn't use a proper 3d sculpting program, so i can't turn around the models otherwise they'd look like a molten gingerbread man (but i do want to properly sculpt them in 3d in the future!)
(i didn't make the background btw, they were 3d assets included in the program i used, i just arranged and changed some colors)

"i don't want to give up on you." resin that never cured right on canvas.
this piece is mostly born from sentimentality, and a desire to preserve the unpreservable. in a perfect world, this piece would hang on my wall, or in a gallery; in reality, life was not so kind to it, and, ultimately, turned it poisonous. i thought archiving it this way would make me able to throw it away. i'm still not sure if i can...

neocities guide - why you should build your own html website
do you miss the charm of the 90s/00s web where sites had actual personality instead of the same minimalistic theme? are you feeling drained by social media and the constant corporate monopoly of your data and time? do you want to be excited about the internet again? try neocities!!
what is neocities?
neocities is a free hosting website that lets you build your own html website from scratch, with total creative control. in their own words: "we are tired of living in an online world where people are isolated from each other on boring, generic social networks that don't let us truly express ourselves. it's time we took back our personalities from these sterilized, lifeless, monetized, data mined, monitored addiction machines and let our creativity flourish again."
why should I make my own website?
web3 has been overtaken by capitalism & conformity. websites that once were meant to be fun online social spaces now exist solely to steal your data and sell you things. it sucks!! building a personal site is a great way to express yourself and take control of your online experience.
what would I even put on a website?
the best part about making your own site is that you can do literally whatever the hell you want! focus on a specific subject or make it a wild collection of all your interests. share your art! make a shrine for one of your interests! post a picture of every bird you see when you step outside! make a collection of your favorite blinkies! the world is your oyster !! here are some cool example sites to inspire you: recently updated neocities sites | it can be fun to just look through these and browse people's content! space bar | local interstellar dive bar creature feature | halloween & monsters big gulp supreme peanutbuttaz | personal site dragodiluna linwood | personal site patho grove | personal site
getting started: neocities/html guide
sound interesting? here are some guides to help you get started, especially if you aren't familiar with html/css sadgrl.online webmastery | a fantastic resource for getting started with html & web revival. also has a layout builder that you can use to start with in case starting from scratch is too intimidating web design in 4 minutes | good for learning coding basics w3schools | html tutorials templaterr | demo & html for basic web elements eggramen test pages | css page templates to get started with sadgrl background tiles | bg tiles rivendell background tiles | more free bg tiles
fun stuff to add to your site
want your site to be cool? here's some fun stuff that i've found blinkies-cafe | fantastic blinkie maker! (run by @transbro & @graphics-cafe) gificities | internet archive of 90s/00s web gifs internet bumper stickers | web bumper stickers momg | gif gallery 99 gif shop | 3d gifs 123 guestbook | add a guestbook for people to leave messages cbox | add a live chat box moon phases | track the phases of the moon gifypet | a little clickable page pet adopt a shroom | mushroom page pet tamaNOTchi | virtual pet crossword puzzle | daily crossword imood | track your mood neko | cute cat that chases your mouse pollcode | custom poll maker website hit counter | track how many visitors you have
web revival manifestos & communities
also, there's actually a pretty cool community of people out there who want to bring joy back to the web! melonland project | web project/community celebrating individual & joyful online experiences. Also has an online forum melonland intro to web revival | what is web revival? melonking manifesto | status cafe | share your current status nightfall city | online community onio.cafe | leave a message and enjoy the ambiance sadgrl internet manifesto | yesterweb internet manifesto | sadly defunct, still a great resource reclaiming online social spaces | great manifesto on cultivating your online experience
in conclusion
i want everyone to make a neocities site because it's fun af and i love seeing everyone's weird personal sites that they made outside of the control of capitalism :) say hi to me on neocities

artist quastions
1. Art programs you have but don't use
Probably CSP. It's one of the few software I actually legally bought. But their new monetization policy is just not for me. It's a genuinely good program for artists and I may use it again in the future (especially for the 3D functionality. If that hasn't been priced out yet...). I also have SAI installed. It's fun and runs very smoothly. I should use it more often. I also have krita if i want to do frame by frame animation.
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
I usually flip my canvas often so it's kind of a 50/50. It depends on the character if they're easier to draw facing forward or to the side.
3. What ideas come from when you were little
Man... I honestly don't know. As a kid I wanted to make a pet game (similar to neopets I guess) where you could earn currency and buy stuff and dress up your pet. I still really like pet games and collection games and trinkets. I would love to make a trinket collection game.
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
Industrial landscapes and scenes. Painting a factory or trains or roads being repaired is fun. Until you actually have to do that....
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
It used to be maybe 90/10. Now its probably 40/60. I used to just. Start a painting and always finish it and post it. I didn't really sketch or doodle stuff without finishing it or give up on paintings and discard them.
Now I like doodling and exploring stuff on my own more. I have a ton of files that are just 20000 layers of different sketches. I also discard artworks much more often.
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
I honestly can't tell. People don't compare my work to anything often. I can't tell if it looks like anything...
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
Traditional art. 3d art. Animation of all kinds. Fibre arts. Sculpture. Film. Writing. Theatre. Music. I mean yeah. All. Art. Very broad very vague answer but it's trueee. I appreciate and am inspired by everything I see
Less broadly... Watercolor painters...
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
I am starting to not be interested in anything....... When I was a child I used to have an 'ask blog' of sorts for my characters. I don't really have anything like that anymore :(
9. What are your file name conventions
Gibberish unless it's a commission. Comms get labelled with the customers name.
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
I like drawing the nude figure 💯💯💯. Mmm probably gloves or hi-vis gear. Work clothes. Overalls. Rubber boots. Belts and harnesses.
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
Usually music or youtube videos. I often get anxious and scared so I draw with a single song on repeat to keep my mind off it.
12. Easiest part of body to draw
Arms and legs... Probably... Maybe breasts also.
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
I can't tell. If I admire someone's work I consider it to be 'my thing'. I think there's certain people whose work ethic and drive to create I admire while not really being interested in the subject matter.
I admire artists from dA or FA who draw 'weird' things or their gallery is filled with the same thing over and over, or just people who are laser focused on their subject matter of choice. I'm fascinated by 'widely known in narrow circles' type of thing. I love extremely niche communities 👍
14. Any favorite motifs
Industriallllll..... Concrete. Grime. Rust. Metal. Sparks. Pipes. Wires. Blood and gore. Dilapidated and abandoned places. Small places and things not always noticed. Scary and cute things ^_^
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
Usually just at my desk.
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
This is a hard one.... I usually choose to draw what I enjoy.
I guess rendering if I was forced to render something I don't like?
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
It depends. I drink tea in all circumstances.
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
As a child I broke a wacom intuos tablet I got as a gift. Still not over it because it was quite expensive. Don't think I broke anything else unless breaking my computer also counts. I broke several laptops as a child...
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
FACTORY 💯💯💯 Nature and plants too but the prize has to go to industrial infrastructure. Even if I'm not good at it.
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Hands 🙌. Animals ? Various textures ?
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
I can't list them all 🥲 I love to be inspired by artworks that are nothing like mine. I really admire dynamic and expressive cartoon/simplistic styles. Artstyles well adapted for hand drawn animation are also amazing.
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
I need to be actually doing this more. Squats, wall angels and just rotating my joints are my usual go-to. I also like to twist myself but idk if that actually does anything. I like hearing my spine crack 😄
23. Do you use different layer modes
I used to use multiply for shading but I don't anymore. I like using gradient maps and Hue/Lightness/Saturation layer modes. I also tend to just cycle through all layer styles to see if anything looks good. Overlay, darker/lighter color, add are useful on occasion. I try to not rely heavily on layer styles because it quickly turns into me agonizing over 2% opacity changes and shifting colors over and over. Instead of actually painting.
24. Do your references include stock images
Yeah. Sometimes. I just google or go on pinterest to find stuff I need.
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
I can't tell. People don't compare my works to anything.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
I honestly don't know... Everyone has a different interpretation of any work and I enjoy hearing about people's opinions. I can't really recall a 'wild' interpretation...
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
I try to! It's good practice. Usually it ends up in me hating the first iteration of a painting and re-doing it from scratch. But usually I just draw the pose/composition I want over and over until it looks good enough to proceed.
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
Probably. I can't remember though.
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
I have no idea. I think I'm inspired subconsciously by everything I ever experience. It probably doesn't immediately show in my actual artworks but it's there.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
All of them 💯💯💯💯💯
I don't really pay attention to how pieces are received. There's pieces I'm proud of and pieces I'm not. Other people either get it or don't...
@gothglam now its your turn ❗

Dokapon: Sword of Fury remaster announced for Switch
From Gematsu
Tumblr media
Sting has announced Dokapon: Sword of Fury for Switch. It is a remastered version of the 1998-released PlayStation title of the same name. It will launch on August 1 in Japan for 4,620 yen.
Here is an overview of the game, via its retail listings:
About
The most taboo in the Dokapon series?! Are you sure these kind of expressions are OK in the 2020s? Now you can enjoy the visuals of the past as a remastered release. While retaining the subtle world depicted by the original game’s pixel art graphics, the illustrations and 3D graphics have been made easier on the eyes on the big screen with newly added effects. The 3D graphics use a toon-like expression, and the illustrations have a smooth look. You can also revert back to the pixel art graphics of the past.
Key Features
Outsmart Your Friends and Become the Richest Person in the World – The player who becomes the richest (has the most assets) will be the winner. To do that, you must fight against monsters, steal items, rob stores, and… defeat your friends? This is a board game where anything goes! Use unique events like the Tenka Ippin Battle tournament and alliance systems to maximize profits. Of course, it can also be enjoyed as an RPG in which you adventure across a vast map.
A Rock-Paper-Scissors-Based Battle System That Anyone Can Enjoy – When you encounter an enemy, a battle will begin. Battles are simple—they are turn-based battles in which a coin toss determines who goes first and who goes second. As for the controls, simply select an attack method from four commands. If your attack is successful, it can do major damage to the enemy. Conversely, if it does not play well against the enemy’s defense method, you could end up taking major damage yourself. Tense battles will unfold where you must read your enemy’s moves, and where the outcome can change in an instant depending on the commands you choose.
Newly Added Multiplayer Support and Online Battles – With multiplayer support for up to four players, everyone can play with just one copy of the game. Additionally, with online support, you can play with friends far and wide. You can even stop playing mid-game, save, and continue playing from where you left off.
Increase the Tempo with the New High-Speed Function – A high-speed function has been added as a quality-of-life feature. You can choose 3x speed and 5x speed, so even busy people can play with ease. This feature can also be used online.
Enjoy A Bit of Customization with “Secret Sauce” – The “Secret Sauce” feature allows you to change bits of the game balance. Like seasoning, it allows various elements to be slightly adjusted. The “Number of Games Setting” allows you to designate the number of games played, so even those with little time can enjoy playing. Other features include the ability to play around with subtle balance settings, such as setting limitless magic usage and the number of times Wallace appears. And for Dokapon series fans, there is also a feature that allows you to change the battle background music to that of previous Dokapon games. Live in the atmosphere of the past!

Hey, sorry if this is bad(?), but I was wondering if you had any advice for getting into the xr world/career. I think I've seen you mention the topic (encouraging others to join the field?) at least once, but I don't know how to even get started. Thank you for your time!
(If you could answer this not publicly I would appreciate it, but it's fine if you do, or like, if you don't answer at all)
not a bad thing to ask at all! I've actually been in the middle of writing a guide about this for some time that I will.... hopefully finish sometime soon ghskgh.
I hope you don't mind me posting this publicly - I ended up writing a short novel and figure it might be useful to others who are curious as well! anyways, the advice I give to people with a background in illustration is to start out with a Quest 2 headset. they retail at $300 new, but you can get them used via eBay, Craigslist, FB Marketplace or someplace like that for around $200 or under. the Quest 2 works without needing to be plugged into a PC, though you will probably want to buy a more ergonomic head-strap to make it more comfortable. (the head strap that Meta sells is overpriced, but this third-party one is really good) if you're interested in working with augmented reality (the type of work I do!) and have the ability to save up some extra money, I'd recommend waiting for the release of the Quest 3, which will launch this fall and cost $500. totally not a requirement at all to start learning, though.
other than that, I'd recommend starting out with free art programs like Open Brush and Gravity Sketch to familiarize yourself with creating in-headset. both of these programs have a large amount of tutorial videos up on YouTube - as well as an active community of other artists who are all generally very friendly and eager to help people learn. VR Art Live and The Spatial Canvas's Discord servers are the communities I'm part of. :)
after that, it all just comes down to posting your new artwork online to as many platforms as you can mentally handle (this is the hardest part for me, ghsghs), and also looking at paid XR artist programs/gigs. Mozilla Hubs, Horizon Worlds, and Figmin XR (that's me!) all have some creator opportunities where they pay people to create things on their platform.
you can also find work doing XR concept art, art performances, and I've even seen grant programs for XR artists from art galleries. these things are harder to find, but if you make a LinkedIn page and a modest portfolio of your XR art, chances are high that you'll get some eyes on it.
it's ridiculously easy to be a big fish in a small pond right now if you have any kind of skills with these programs. I will say that there does seem to be a push towards people who can create things that are interactive and can be shared with others (like AR Snapchat/TikTok/Instagram filters, experiences created and published to platforms like Mozilla Hubs, Figmin XR, etc.), so that's something to keep in mind while learning - but not something that should stop you!
going from 2D illustration to creating things in 3D space is a whirlwind of learning new skills that can often feel overwhelming, but the most important thing is that it should feel fun and enjoyable to you. I started out by just listening to music while painting in Tilt Brush (Tilt Brush was the original version of Open Brush, before Google made it open-source) and creating whatever felt the most fun in the moment. everything else just came from natural curiosity and connecting with other artists in the space.
lastly... I have no technical (coding, traditional 3D modeling) skills. I am a 2x college dropout with chronic mental illness, and prior to my current employment I was never able to hold a job for longer than 3 months. and yet....... this new industry has changed my life completely, and at 29 years old I finally feel like I have a purpose. I'm somehow a software developer now, without needing to know anything about software development. that's wild!!!
this is why I'm so excited for the future. if this brand-new technology (still in its infancy! viewed as frightening by so many!!) was able to help me in such a radical way... what will that mean for even more people discovering it as it becomes more accessible?
I don't know the answer to that yet... but I do know how wonderful it is to see people learning about all of this for the first time. helping with that alone is more than enough for me 💖

So, a while back, I wrote about how I really appreciate my watchers and commission clients for being so respectful to me, and how I've never dealt with an especially unpleasant client before.
Well, seems I jinxed myself!
The other day I was messaged by someone who asked if I wanted to take part in an unpaid collaborative art project. Normally I would turn down unpaid work, but I figured I might as well hear out what his project was and maybe give it a shout-out to others (I'm too polite; that's my problem). So he sends me a PDF detailing the project in question.
Basically he wanted to make a series of MLP comics starring his OCs along with 20-30 second animations to introduce each one. He also listed several jobs for the members of this project to fulfill: sketching, inking, coloring, cover art, lettering, scriptwriting, character design, prop design, 2D animators, 3D animators... even a "scientist" to help explain the workings of magic and tech in this series as well as "roleplayers" to help with writing character interactions. Like 30+ jobs in total.
While he did give a brief summery of the setting (sci-fi fantasy set 1000 years in the future) and stated there was no set time limit, at no point did he say what the plot of these stories are, how long these comics are supposed to be, how many there were going to be, or really any kind of framework to build off of. Hell, he didn't even name his OCs, let alone provide reference pics. The only thing he offered was the "privilege" of "showcase your own OCs" (which I can already do in my own gallery), "improving your art skills" (which I do literally every time I draw), and the opportunity to "help someone achieve their dream" (no comment).
Overall, everything about this project was incredibly vague and nondescript, and was essentially all going to be made up on the fly every step of the way. I even asked if he had a way to communicate with the other members of this project and all he said was "I have my ways of communicating". Like... why not just tell me? I felt like someone was trying to indoctrinate me into a cult, but they forgot that cult leaders are supposed to be charismatic. It seemed that all he had to offer were a bunch of lofty but nebulous ideas, and this clown was expecting a bunch of people to waste their time and talents helping him write self-insert fanfiction for his OCs and waifus.
But the most audacious part of the whole thing was that included in the PDF was a link to another PDF that was essentially a list of reasons for turning him down, and his explanations on why he won't accept them. They're listed below the cut:
“I’m too Busy, So I have no time to do this.” Reason.
As I’ve explain that Time isn’t an Issue for there is no time limit in my Project.
“I only do Commission’s because I really needed money to pay my Bills and Foods.” Reason.
I’m guessing that you don’t get out much then, surely there’s a Job vacancies around your places somewhere.
“I don’t do Freebies for stranger’s, only Friend’s” Reason.
That’s good rhem because I asked for a Collaboration, NOT a Request nor a Commission for that matter.
“I only draw what I want, I don’t do others and I’m not accepting Commission's either.” Reason.
Then I don’t see what’s the reason or why you posted your Artworks online then for everyone to see, unless of course, you want people to be jealous of you.
“What you just stated IS a Free Project, I’m not wasting my times and patiences for a Project who knows how long that will not help me Pay my Bills.” Reason.
…………, So what’s the problem then?; Please re-read my explanation to know what I mean.
“I appreciate you’ll willing to invite me for such a Big Project but I don’t think my Skills in Artwork’s is impressive enough.” Reason.
If your Artwork’s isn’t impressive enough for me then please tell me these 2 things:
why do you think I invite you to join my Project then?
if you’re that low on confidences about your Artworks, why bother posting it online for everyone to see?
“I just don’t want.” Reason.
Explain specifically and in details why not? please
Which one is your Reason or do you have any other “Reasons” that I miss or don’t know about?

will be interesting to see how the advent of more and more advanced AI art will affect sculpture... if it progresses at the rate it does, sculpture will be one of the final mediums where it can be certain a human hand was involved.* then even that will be whittled down to stranger and stranger mediums as 3d printers and other manufacturing tech develop.
i don't think it will completely destroy any art form- but it may push them all to offline spheres. people who value art as created solely by a human hand will have to resort to their own community and people they can individually trust and know to be real. this could be kind of amazing, taking art back to a place full of small and unique scenes and small but very involved real world audiences.
the internet becoming a dead feedback loop full of AI entities that are difficult to identify from real human's accounts may also destroy the drive to create for the sake of "likes", shares, and other empty internet points. might force people to return to making for the sake of satisfaction and craft, which i think social media has done vast damage to.
this might seem internet brained or whatever but it seems AI art is now at a point where it frequently takes me 30 seconds to realize it is AI. a year ago it was 1 second. AI made/enhanced video is developing quickly. the early gandbreeder stuff was genuinely pleasing to me and many others, and im starting to see people use current AI in ways that don't just simply irritate me. unless it hits some unexpected wall, AI art is coming, in huge waves.
it feels good to be a sculptor in the face of this, and its a good time to learn how your art exists without the internet- performance nights, open mics, local clubs, submitting your work to local galleries or even just leaving it places people can find it. craft nights, drawing dates, poetry workshops with your friends( blech i know but ... hey) i feel like we should return our work to the real world for a head start on when this becomes essential.
also its just more fun that way haha
controversially im not even against AI art despite how frightening it is to me. im seeing interesting things done with it and being outraged against the march of technology feels pointless. it is really tragic the people with the most control over it are evil, but that isnt a trait unique to ai art. AIs influences over other things might destroy society ofc though. lol. but why distress myself arguing with a tsunami
*no, painting, drawing, etc will not be safe, it is so easy to machinate brushstrokes etc. same for pretty much any other physical medium you think of, eventually even most sculpture. and obv several forms of sculpture will be immediately replicable w combined AI and 3d printing. this is why i predict art communities relying on knowing the artists a little personally as well
*also AI / the internet / social media might implode in some way or hit a wall we can't even imagine yet which would conveniently prevent any of this. im also psychoposting bc i had coffee for the first time in weeks.
*pls dont flame me for asinine AI thought sharing or give me some long ass response PLS HAHA im venting not debating
in short my passion is that you know your whole experience of making or experiencing art should not be online. find / make / share in the real world. (she said, onlinely )

Best Software for 3d art galleries !
Creating and displaying 3D art galleries requires a combination of software tools to design, model, and present the artwork effectively. Check these software options for different stages of creating a 3D art gallery: 3D Modeling and Sculpting: Blender: A powerful and free open-source software that offers comprehensive 3D modeling, sculpting, and animation capabilities. ZBrush: A popular tool for digital sculpting, ideal for creating intricate and detailed 3D models. Autodesk Maya: Widely used in the entertainment industry for 3D modeling, animation, and rendering. 3D Rendering and Visualization: Unreal Engine: A real-time 3D rendering engine that allows for highly immersive and interactive experiences. Unity: Another real-time 3D rendering engine commonly used for interactive experiences and video games. V-Ray: A high-quality rendering engine often used for creating photorealistic images. 3D Virtual Gallery Creation: Eternal3D.com where you can create your own 3D galleries using photos and videos. Sketchfab: An online platform where you can upload and share 3D models, create galleries, and embed them on websites or social media. Artsteps: A platform that allows artists to design virtual galleries and exhibitions with customizable spaces and layouts. VRChat: A virtual reality platform where you can create 3D galleries and interact with others in a social VR environment. 3D Presentation and Visualization: Substance Painter: A texture painting tool that allows artists to add realistic materials and textures to their 3D models. KeyShot: A user-friendly rendering and animation software that produces high-quality visuals with minimal effort. Adobe Dimension: Designed for creating 3D mockups and product visualizations with a user-friendly interface. Remember that the best software depends on your specific needs and preferences. For example, Blender and Sketchfab are excellent choices for artists on a budget or those looking for free options. On the other hand, professional artists and studios may prefer industry-standard software like Maya or Unreal Engine for their advanced features and capabilities. To find the right software for your 3D art gallery, consider your level of expertise, the complexity of the project, and the desired presentation format. It's also essential to explore tutorials and online resources to familiarize yourself with the chosen software and make the most of its potential for creating stunning 3D art galleries. #virtualartexhibition #ImmerseInArt #eternal3d #virtual #art #exhibition #3dartexhibition  Eternal3D.com #california #cerritos #unitedstate #eternal3d #3d #space #virtualexhibition #virtua l #contemporaryart #onlineexhibition #artexhibition #artwork #artist #paintings #fineart  #artgallery #stayhome #virtualgallery #modernart #DigitalExhibition #artonline #gallery  #interiordesign Read the full article

Mozilla Hubs shutting down
Tumblr media
Some very unfortunate news was announced yesterday by Mozilla. As part of the efforts of the new CEO, Mozilla will be downsizing and refocusing the company's efforts on Firefox and AI. The Hubs team is unfortunately one of the teams at Mozilla now slated to lose their jobs.
If you're familiar with my work, you'll know that I've depended on Mozilla Hubs for many of my projects these past 5 years. I've been creating on the platform since it first became available to the public. Hubs has been my favorite content creation platform to date. It's got the easiest workflow for 3D artists that use Blender, thanks to its dedicated (and very powerful) Blender addon. No other social 3D / VR / webXR platform has come close to Hubs in terms of ease of use, flexibility, and artist-friendliness for me. It truly is a special piece of tech. I even used it with great success last year to showcase artwork created by my 3D art students, a gallery that will now be going offline as well.
Because of all that, news of it shutting down has hit me pretty hard. A lot of my publicly available online VR worlds are now slated to disappear in the near future. Although Hubs is open source and its code will still remain available for many years to come for anyone who wants to self-host it, that just isn't possible for me. I don't make money from my VR projects (making them purely out of love for the hobby and/or source material), and I basically live paycheck to paycheck. I did attempt Patreon a few years back, but it sadly never took off.
So I guess this is my announcement that my VR worlds, too, are going to go offline within the next year. Please enjoy them while you can. 🥹
I want to end this post with a massive thank you to the Hubs team for all their effort on this wonderful platform. They not only created something magical, but they selflessly shared it openly and for free with the whole world when any other company would have nickel-and-dimed their users in every way they could. Hubs was a blast to use and create on these past 5 years for me, and the team should still feel extremely proud of what they accomplished on it.
