My first work in game dev was working with friends (without a contract; don’t ever do this; we are no longer friends) on a project and being the one delegated to writing item descriptions.

The only rule was they had to be 100 characters max (ideally 90 characters or less)

I had nothing to work with besides pictures and the region the item was from. So I just wrote whatever the image inspired.

Decades later, long after I demanded back pay after realizing I was the sole member of the team not listed in the LLC registry (because “anyone can write”) and left the project, I found out fans are still debating what my 400~ items descriptions mean and if they’re hints to some kind of secret.

And the truth is I was pulling shit out of my ass the entire time, never really expecting the project to take off because it stagnated for years before suddenly getting a wildly successful Kickstarter.

And then when I said, “cool, now you can pay me” I was told they hadn’t budgeted for writing and the project lead tried to guilt trip me saying she’d have to pay me out of pocket.

I said okay, do that. :)

The only real secret is the gods of the world are based on our old world of warcraft characters (for a time they even had our character names but that was scrapped because people started stalking the lead during the alpha test) and the one based off my undead rogue is still causing problems to this day. When I heard mine was responsible for them officially banning body horror I laughed so hard.

looked at my notes and some ass called me a racist for using the word goy and claimed it was a slur, and ofc I wrote a long-ass reply to that and it got deleted because they blocked me, so i gotta vent.

if youre not jewish, and dont speak hebrew, don't fucking tell me how I should use my native language. goy is not a slur, it's a word in hebrew. gentile was historically used to prejudice against jews, I will never use it to describe a non-jew. I will keep using the word in my language to describe someone who is not jewish in discussions that require this distinction, the same way i will use the word cis to describe a non-trans person in discussions that require that distinction.

First thought: Rei’s outfit is so good. He looks good in dark blue, wish he got to wear that more often. And the long, black coat is also good. Too bad “Amuro” only gets to wear light colors and Furuya Rei typically only gets the boring grey suit (m25 exception: he looked good there too).

Second thought: wait. Dark blue shirt and black coat/jacket? Where have I see this before like a million times hmmm?

Third thought: Rei definitely picked that outfit with Akai in mind.

Henry's royal house is 'Hanover-Stuart' - implying he comes from the House of Hanover

but the last Hanover monarch was Queen Victoria. Her children inherited their father (her cousin's) house- Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. After that the British line of Hanover effectively ended

So the persistence of the name then implies that in the Red White and Royal Blue universe, Queen Victoria - who we know exists as a Queen in universe because of the food fight joke- was either succeed by a much more distantly related Hanover- implying her children either didn't exist or were somehow removed from the line of succession (hello new fictional civil war of 1901), OR it implies that Queen Victoria somehow, in 1840- changed the entire system of patralineage into a matralineage so her children would inherit the Hanover title. This would then in turn imply that the female line would have to be acknowledged as the stronger claimant to the throne meaning the heir to Victoria's throne would NOT have been Edward VII, but instead Victoria's first born- a daughter also called Victoria (hereafter referred to as V2 for clarity).

But in real life V2 went on to become the empress of Germany and the mother of the last German Kaiser - you know the one who was CREEPILY almost incestuously obsessed with his mothers hands and who ALSO LARGELY CAUSED WW1 BY MAKING 1910s GERMANY AN EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE MILITARY POWER TO RESOLVE IS DADDY ISSUES?! But if in RW&RB V2 never became the German Empress, she never would have had Wilhelm II, and would instead have married a man of lower station and went on to continue the Hanover line in England, meaning there would be no Willhelm II - whos infamously erratic and hostile foreign policy led to the destabilization of Germany's position in Europe and was likely the main contributor to the reactionary foreign policies of other European powers that then caused the beginning of the conflict that became WW1.

SO IN RW&RB, IS THERE NO WW1?!

and that's not even getting into the Stuart of it all - a Royal line that ended IN 1714 AND WAS THE WHOLE SOURCE OF THE JACOBITE UPRISINGS. like if the Stuart line continued in the name, that implies that instead of it dying out with Anne, and the distant relatives of James II then forming the Jacobites to reclaim the throne, they somehow wove them back into the family tree?!

So were there no Jacobite Uprisings in RW&RB?

Is that why Henry is able to be styled as Prince of Wales, despite him not being the Crown Prince- because in this universe with the Stuarts still part of the royal family the Crown Prince's seat now becomes Prince of Scotland, also implying that Scotland has also now become a principality rather than a kingdom?! And how did the Stuart line stay in? Did Victoria NOT marry Albert, but instead marry a Stuart? But no, because the last Stuart was literally a fatherless priest who died 20 years before she was born, and the V&A still exists in universe, so Victoria still definitely married Albert. So did V2 get married off to some distant Stuart (most likely Francis V of Modena)? IS SCOTLAND A PRINCIPALITY NOW?! WHO CAUSED WW1?! WAS IT BECAUSE OF THE FICTIONAL BRITISH CIVIL WAR OF 1901?!

Absolutely losing my mind tonight over the thought that the One Ring in Erebor would just make everything Worse regarding the Gold/Dragon sickness on the treasure hoard. Because it would absolutely amplify the corruption and evil and encourage it to take root so much easier in Thorin's mind.

And dear, dear Bilbo, who doesn't even know that the nifty little ring he carries in his pocket might even be the least bit malicious is just trying So Hard to make things better and help, all the while his presence is just making things exponentially worse.

And his help just hurts.

but nobody knows that! nobody knows to separate the Ring from the Hoard.

(Why would they? What reason would they have to suspect)

And then when Bilbo is thrown out, that's probably some of the clearest moments Thorin's had since the madness took him. the farther away the Ring gets, the easier it is for him to shake the Dragon-Sickness and come back to his senses because that exponentially amplifying source of malice is gone.

but of course nobody knows it's the Ring's fault. And they certainly wouldn't think it was Bilbo's fault either.

And if things did not work out the way they did. If Bilbo decided to stay in the mountain, with his Ring, none the wiser of what it was, would the cycle just continue over and over, the malice of the dragon hoard corrupting someone else, and on and on until something broke and it could not be fixed.

How many souls would be devoured by the combined malice of Sauron and Smaug, all the while dear Bilbo Baggins is none the wiser. (after all the ring in his pocket it just the smallest of trifles.)

Angel Dust Headcanon

During life, Anthony secretly dreamed of living in LA. Sick of New York's sharp edges, he imagined a life for himself somewhere wide open and inviting, somewhere sunny and warm and free. Maybe he could be himself there - he had heard whispers that things were more relaxed in LA, more liberal, so to speak. In his wildest fantasies, Anthony even pictured himself a burgeoning star in the golden age of Hollywood, captivated by the glamour of the actors on the screen.

Most nights, Anthony would fall asleep to his imaginings, envisioning this wonderful existence where he wouldn't be shamed for his ways. Where he could leave his old life behind and start anew, somewhere that his unconventional nature could be explored, even celebrated. He imagined it with such force it was though he were trying to bring it into being through sheer willpower alone. What would it be like, to know such liberation? Maybe he wouldn't be Anthony anymore. Maybe in LA, he could be someone new; someone better.

Los Angeles, Anthony would ponder. The City of Angels.

What would become of him there?
