i have No interest in keeping a saltwater tank EXCEPT that i want a mantis shrimp. i know they’re like pests in the aquarium world bc they will kill and eat the rest of ur stock and fuck with ur corals and they usually burrow so u rarely even see them but i have a beautiful fantasy world where i have one of those rimless cube tanks with a bunch of coral selected to compliment my one huge and beautiful shrimp that’s always out and about being so so pretty

Part 2 "help from strangers"

Eventually you regain consciousness but deside to keep your eyes close to relax and know your surrondings for a little. You hear whispers and talking from some people around you. All words they are saying mash up into a mess when they are speaking over eachother "girl...dont know...healed..dangerous...safe...child..Collar....chains...medicine....14?" When trying to puzzle those words together nothing pops into your brain. You feel a matress like thing under you but you still feel chains connected to you.

You slowly open your eyes and squint as light from a ceiling light hits your eyes. "Boss she woke up!" *random ahh shouting* You see you have bandages around your body your not cleaned up but atleast the bleeding the cuts are healing, then you look at the chains and they looked like somone was trying? to pry them open well barley. How stupid they must be, the metal is seastone. A man or a woman you think? Turns to look at you.

"Who are you"

You just look at him and blink then you speak up, more hoarse then expected but you kind of did drink some of the saltwater while swimming to shore.

"im R-reader"

"Reader? Ive heard that name before, Celestial Dragons slave girl!"

"Yes,sir"

"Yes sir"? Im a women!"

You just look at her, your face completely still and emtionless.

"Stop staring!"

"...umm t-thanks for taking care of me?"

"Taking care"? Dont tell me you're going to stay here?.."

"..."

"Stop staring! And I heard you were a bratty kid too"

"I don't wan't to take care of one more brat!"

You kept looking at her blankly not a single sprakle in your eyes. You can see a few sweatdrops going down her face and her teeth grits together as you keep looking at her then after a 1 min staring contest she sighs and turns around.

"Fine, Y/n, ill let you stay but you have to get to work next morning with Ace, and Luffy!"

You wanted to cry from relief but you were taught not to cry or you will be punished severely. So you nod and sat up, ignoring the pain going through your body.

"Thank you ma'am"

"Ya ya, your welcome"

The rest of the Mountain bandits go back to eating and you can see meat around the room. Then you see two boys, one with a Strawhat and the biggest smile you ever seen, rushing to your side while the other, with freckles, stays put and coutinue to eat an enormous amount of meat.

"Hey! My name is Luffy! Let's be friends!"

Danm this kid's enthusiastic but it make you feel...happy? Nobody showed you this much equality and kindness expect for that orange hair lady but she said it in a meaner voice.

"Okay."

"Yay!...hey what is that"

You see him point to the seastone collar around your neck

"Its a shock collar made out of seastone, if it is bothered to much it will start to beep then...it will explode"

It hurt to say that. Having to experience when you were in the Clestial dragons hands, innocent people dying becuase of a shock collar.

You turn to look at Luffy as he inspects your injury with a smile. He reminds you of an person you met a long time ago.

"You must be so brave to have all these scars and scratches! You will look so strong and tough in battle! I got one when I stabbed my cheek, but Shanks said having scars dosen't make you a pirate but I think it makes you look strong! blah blah"

As the boy continues talking you have a warm feeling in your chest you haven't felt in a long time he seems so sweet. When anybody looks at you they look at you like you were a piece of trash that has no worth

"Hey Y/N how old are you?"

"Im 11"

The room goes silent and the moutain bandits are upside down on the floor for some reason and even that freckle face boy looks at you

"Wow, she is tall for an 11 year old, I thought she was 15"

"Ace is 10 and he's only 3/4 of her size and she is just one year older than him"

The room goes back to the chatter and you look at the freckled face boy who you expect to be Ace, grunts and turns away from you.

After eating

You see Luffy run after Ace outside shouting his name as some mountain bandits try to stop him but to no luck. You see the lady who people call "boss" or "Dadan" sigh as she starts drinking some alcohol while other also drink some aswell.

You lie down and close your eyes to get some rest as you here drunk Dadan talking about the boy "Ace".

You thought a little eavesdropping wouldnt hurt right..?

"Im already giving up on Ace, too!" "I dont care if he dies or not. I'll just tell Garp it was an accident.""It's true that 'the devil's children have devils luck''! "He's the devil's son"! "If the Goverment finds about this, what do you think they'll do to us?!"

"Easy, Easy, Boss"

"You're drinking too much!"

As you open your eyes a bit you see Ace behind the curtain, and it doesn't look like you were the only one eavesdropping, and you can tell those words that Dadan said hurt him a bit.

You see Ace walk to his bedroom and close the door. A little while after, Dadan told you to go sleep in the room aswell. It did hurt to walk while still healing from all the blood loss and scars.

You went into the room as you quickly put a mattress down and before you lie down and went to sleep, you glance at Ace as he seems asleep.

"Ace, I dont think you're a devil's child, I think your just..misunderstood" you mumble

Ace sits up and goes to look at you with a shock face

"what did you sa-"

But he sees you're already asleep and sighs.

"Hm?"

He looks at the collar around your neck. He gently adjust it so it hurt you to bad. As he sighs again he lies down and falls asleep.

Next morning

You woke up pretty early 2am , only sleeping for 2 hours but if felt nice sleeping after being able to sleep only for 30 min when in the hands of the Celestial Dragons. You saw Ace and Luffy still sleeping and you gently tuck the blanket so it covers them.

You went the main area and saw it was a bit of a mess from yesterday. You started mopping the floor and laundry then started polishing the wepons and shoes.

You sat on the floor and waited for everyone to wake up. You see the room is spotless and clean. You wait for everyone to wake up, you wonder what their expressions will be? Guess have to see when they wake up.

I am playing df for the first time in a while (you know how hyperfixations are and all that) and this fortress has some antpeople in the caverns. and I have dfhack. now initially i just thought of doing this because i saw they had three shields equipped and i thought of the thing where spiderpeople adventurers could have 7 shields and be super defended. theres also some olmpeople and some reptilepeople but like. theyre just kinda regular guys.

but anyway like, i kinda wanna use the make-own command in dfhack to make the antpeople part of my government and my fort.

my concerns are that the antpeople apparently have a lifespan of only 5-8 years and from what i can tell of the wiki the weight of the different sexes is 10,000 on worker, 1,000 on soldier, 5 on drone, 1 on queen. and uh, I do not have a 10,000+ population cap on my fort... so I don't think I can successfully maintain their population for any length of time, which would be sad i think. so i think i am not gonna do it. just kinda sad that it is not very feasible.

more consideration about animalpeople citizens under cut :p

the appeal of animal people (to me) comes in 3 main reasons. more than 2 arms, flight (im not sure how well this actually works for citizens in fortress mode tbh, so maybe i should ignore this...), and being biglarge. theres also the secondary values you could care about of like, being amphibious for some extra convenience i guess? or being an egg layer because uh. well you can eat them.

so (in no particular order), the animal people im most interested in having as residents are like. brown recluse spider people(6!!! arms, immune to pain and stun!, uh. they can collect webs i guess), elephant men (theyre fuckin huge dude), saltwater crocodile people (puny compared to elephant people but still 7x the size of a dwarf, amphibious, uh they lay 20-70 eggs so your dwarves literally dont need to grow any food or keep any farm animals they can feed themselves and have a surplus lmao), and [any flying insect] people (flight, 4 arms).

as mentioned, idk how useful flight is. you're mostly indoors anyway and even if you need to go up and down fast stairs... exist. it could theoretically help get your guys out of danger from nonflyers if you intentionally designed your fort around that, though, but i think the wiki said that for flying to a given tile to work there needs to be a land path to that tile as well? not sure about that

more arms - straightforwardly valuable for combat, the person that did a huge test of how shields work didnt do a test for multiple armed people with multiple shields, but based on the stories people have told about playing as spider people with 7 shields, im preeetty sure it works. i dont think its good for anything else in fortress mode? but having stronger soldiers is still very good.

being biglarge- useful in multiple ways. combat is a breeze and speed will barely be reduced when carrying heavy objects, so theyll be more productive in certain tasks. i do wonder though, uh, can you make the right clothes for them? the small animal people are all still 35,000cm3 because its an average of the base creature and human, and thats kobold size, which you can make clothes for. but can you make elephantperson sized clothes and armor? if you can, no problem? (i would be surprised if the game actually made you use more materials to make the same items in a larger size, but i might be wrong)

egglaying- look, with like 30ish turkeys i was not only able to entirely feed my fort but also over the course of 5 years build up a surplus of nearly 20,000 units of food, and that surplus isnt counting how many lavish meals i used as trade goods (enough to easily afford everything i wanted from every trade caravan, the only "limit" on my spending being that when meals are put in a barrel you cant fetch them individually and a barrel full of dozens of lavish meals is only worth like twice as much). Egg laying people removes the need for a bunch of extra animals in your fort. Instead of needing to regularly let the babies hatch and then butchering the older ones, adding annoying overhead and lag from too many entities, the people will just... live a normal 60-80 year lifespan, and in fact if you have a normal fort population there will be more egg laying citizens than you'd have animals in a normal egg industry. My only question is like. The wiki says "females will lay (sterile) eggs if given a nest box to claim". How do you get actual reproduction of new baby citizens??

amphibious - even less useful than flying. very few of even the scariest monsters can fly, but literally all of the megabeasts are immune to drowning anyway. mildly useful for exploring the caverns maybe? but that is very mild.

also, immunity to pain and stun for the spider people is neat. bark scorpion person has that too, and having 4 arms is still good, but when brown recluse spider people exist and have two more arms why not opt for them? also theres jumping spider people but brown recluse spider people are identical save for being able to freely move through webs (a minor thing, but convenient if you have a silk industry, which is certainly a good thing to have), and the venomous bite (idk why this would really matter lol).

Witch Tips 24

Holy shit it's been over a year since I posted one of these but it's because I kept setting myself up for failure by putting way too high of expectations on myself to crank out 10 new and unique and helpful tips everytime I got 100 new followers except first it was 10 and then it was 50 and holy shit I got so stressed about these so I've just been writing them down as I've thought of them instead and now here we are, please be gentle.

Hello here are tips

1. Use transfer paper and a hair dryer to decorate candles.

Maybe you're doing a spell for someone & you want to put a picture of that person on the candle. This can be a way to help you better visualize the effects of the spell on the person the spell is for. Or maybe you need a picture on the candle for some other reason. Maybe you want to put pictures of coins on it for a money spell. Or hearts for a love spell. Simply print out whatever you want on transfer paper, cut it out & place the image face-down on the candle. Then, you'll want to get your hairdryer and a piece of tissue paper (I highly suggest the tissue paper is the same color as the candle, otherwise you risk getting that color onto the candle. Which can also be fine, but if it's not what you want...) use the blow dryer on a low-warm setting to melt the photo onto the candle side. Remove the tissue paper and there you have it! A picture printed onto a candle.

2. You can incorporate witchcraft into ANYTHING... even brushing your teeth.

I recently got this fucking delicious toothpaste from Trader Joe's. I'm one of those people who sometimes struggles to brush my teeth twice a day because I hate the taste of toothpaste. So I got a super unconventional toothpaste flavor instead, "fennel, propolis, & Myrrh. And about a week after using it, it struck me -holy shit these ingredients have meaning behind them. Most obviously, myrrh is associated with wisdom and meditation. And fennel has been used in magic for centuries! Even if you use regular mint toothpaste, that ingredient has power behind it! Obviously this goes more so for natural toothpastes but I'm sure you can find a way to enchant other varieties as well! Use the ingredients already infused into your toothpaste for enchantments & glamours!

3. Actually study your grimoire.

If I sound at all harsh by saying this, it's only because I'm being harsh with myself too. Study your grimoire. Don't just write everything down & then expect to have it all perfectly memorized & be a master in everything you research. Reread it. Rework it. Learn.

4. Feel drawn to be a sea witch but you don't live by the ocean? Get a saltwater aquarium!

First off, I'm not saying that it's a flawless solution. Being a witch of the sea is more than just using salty fish water in your craft. HOWEVER, with that out of the way, there's no way that a salt water aquarium will harm your craft as a sea witch. Think of it like a houseplant for a green witch. Sure, living in the forest would be better but it's still something special to be able to bring a little piece of your craft into your home.

5. Personal taglocks make a spell more powerful, but exercise caution when using them.

Undoubtedly, using a taglock (such as a strand of hair) can better connect you to the spells you're performing, but they're not always wise to use. I only use them in extremely personal spells and crafts. Things that no one except for me can have access to. I would never suggest using a taglock on something that you wish to give another person (especially another witch) such as a spell bottle or sachet. Even if you're best friends. Even if you're siblings. Even if you're MARRIED. You never know when a relationship can turn south or what someone is capable of when they're extremely angry with you. Don't risk it.

6. Be respectful of the deities that you don't worship or work with

I don't work with deities. Shocker, I know. I have my own belief system when it comes to higher powers that I won't get into on Tumblr, probably ever. But I do believe in showing respect to all things, both living, dead, & otherwise specified. If a deity approaches you who you're not interested in working with, please remain kind & respectful with in declination. You're allowed to say no to anyone and everyone.

7. Just because someone is more experienced doesn't necessarily mean they're always right.

Without naming names or being too specific, there was a witch I followed on Tumblr for a long time. They were much older than me and had been a witch for like 20+ years. I followed everything they said as fact. But slowly, over time I started to learn more and realized I didn't always agree with them. They were SO negative. If they heard basically anything new that younger witches were coming up with, they'd have a whole 10 paragraph post about how "stupid and wrong and ridiculous and fake" these new witches were. There was not an ounce of open mindedness with this person. And because of that, I started to feel really bad about myself and my craft. Things they said would stick with me and I'd feel so shitty about it. Well fuck. That. More experience means absolutely nothing if the person is unwilling to learn or expand their minds beyond their previous knowledge. Anyone can learn and anyone can teach. Age means nothing. Surround yourself with open minded people.

8. Put full moon water into your humidifier to charge your space.

This is an idea that only just occurred to me while I was setting up my crystals & jar of water to charge under the full blue moon on Samhain. I always turn my glowing humidifier on at night while I sleep. As I watched the mist begin to arise out the top I thought to myself, 'if I'm charging that water (the glass jar on my altar) for the full moon, why not this water too?' So now, I just add a little splash of full moon water into my humidifier water whenever I'm performing rituals or doing spell work. This way, the full moon water can charge my entire bedroom with the power of the full moon as I work.

Speaking of...

9. You can charge water under more moon phases than just full.

I don't know if that wording was weird or not so I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense. My point is, I always see people talking about moon water as if it's only full moon water. The moon holds power in every phase she goes through. Adding to the above tip, you can put new moon water into your humidifier to cleanse your space. Waxing moon water to help you plan and focus. And waning moon water to assist during a banishment spell. Hell yeah dude, all phase of the moon are useful and powerful!

10. Incense matches are a great alternative to full incense sticks

I love burning incense, but sometimes it can really overwhelm the area, especially because my house is small & I dont want to expose my cat to it. Incense matches are literally matches that are covered in incense powder. They burn for just a few minutes & produce a steady stream of smoke for spells. They come in a bunch of different scents. I buy them locally for 30 matches for $1.05USD but you can probably find them cheaper online. Still be sure to keep them away from pets & those who are smoke-sensitive.

LET'S TALK CRYSTALS!

~ Everything has energy, and if you believe in Tarot cards I believe you should also believe in the energy crystals radiate, as they are more natural than any form of divination. ☺️

~ Each Crystal is different, different colors and shapes each have specific uses but many have multiple uses. Lots of crystals are used in Chakra work, Dream work and other forms of energy/ascension/alignment work. The closer to natural the stone is, the more potent it will be. Polished stones still work well, just often at a slower pace. Bigger crystals will be stronger too.

~ When working with crystals in Chakra work most of the time the color of the stone will align with the corresponding chakra.

For example:

♥️ ROOT - Garnet, Carnelian, Red Jasper, Bloodstone. (I love using obsidian here too but I want to discuss this stone lower in the post)

🧡 SACRAL PLEXUS - Sunstone, Orange Calcite, Tigers Eye & Citrine

💛 SOLAR PLEXUS - Pyrite, Aragonite, Amber & Yellow Tourmaline

💚 HEART - Emerald, Malachite, Amazonite & Green Aventurine (& Rose Quartz)

💙 THROAT - Apatite, Soladite, Turquoise & Blue Kyanite ... Think light blue/teal here.

🧿 3rd EYE - Laborodite (my favorite crystal), Azurite, Lapis Lazuli & Sapphire

💜 CROWN - Amethyst, Moonstone, Lepidolite & Howlite

Now, the colors dont HAVE to match. There are plenty of chakra healers/balancers that dont coordinate colors BUT I love to match so there's my list!

🤍 Obsidian (mentioned above) is great for protection!

🤍 Selanite is great for clearing energy & charging other crystals. You can get it as a plate or bowl to rest your daily crystals on so they're ready to go in the morning.

🤍 Clear Quartz is an everything stone! You can literally charge it with any intention. Its a good stand in for anything you dont have. With Quartz being a high vibrational stone it will work to align you with its vibration, often sending you ideas to help you take inspired action to illuminate and clear your path. My favorite of the Quartz family is Lumerian, but stones such as Citrine, Amethyst, Smoky Quartz & Rose Quartz are all in the same family. Be knowledgeable when buying Citrine & Amethyst as some are man made by heat treatment.

🤍 MOLDAVITE is a popular one lately so let's talk about it. Moldavite is a tektite, which is technically not a crystal but still acts like one. It was created in a single meteorite impact in Bohemia that occurred about 15 million years ago. It is ONLY found in the Czech Republic which causes it to be extremely rare & now often faked due to it's increasing demand. So beware of its very high price & be alert when buying. Because of its birth story it's energy is at times chaotic, which you can also see within the stone when examining it, as the inner lines have no pattern & it also holds tiny air bubbles. Like Clear Quartz, its a high vibrational "stone" that works to align you with its vibration. So if you are interacting with low vibrational people or activities it will work to remove these from your life usually by aligning your thought patterns with the correct actions. It may bring you some magic but more often than not you will be asked to take inspired action to have it work properly. This is one piece I cannot sleep with in my room at all!!

~ Check that your crystal dealer is selling ethically sourced stones & be sure to do your research on which crystal/tektite will work best for your desired intentions before purchasing & activating them! I find it best to only work with 1-4 crystals at a time when outside of my home. 2 is my sweet spot, but we are all different & our sensitivity changes as we develop empathy towards universal energy.

~ Ok! Now that we've got the basics on picking your crystal out of the way, here's how to use them!!

~ You should cleanse your crystal after purchasing it to remove the energy of anyone who has handled them or any negative experiences they've endured before reaching you. Not all practicioners believe this & not all stones hold negativity but I believe it's good practice & can't hurt so here's what I know: You can do this in many ways. Sound cleansing (via bells or soundbowls or even YouTube sound baths), kosher or Himalayan salt bath, brown rice, smoke cleanse (via ethically sourced Sage, Palo Santo or Incense) or for certain stones you can soak them in running water or salt/sun/moonwater to cleanse & charge - BUT use caution as some, such as moldavite, laborodite & selenite (most crystals ending in ite) will dissolve in water, especially hot water so again, do your research on the specifics - you can burry them in dirt outside or in your house plants for a few hours just watch out for rain/damp soil, a Selanite or Quartz dish will cleanse & charge any stone, & my personal favorite method - setting them out under the moonlight! I think the Sun works too but the Moon is preferred by most practitioners. It usually only takes a couple hours with most of these methods. Smaller crystals can be cleansed with breath & feather wind.

~ To charge them, moonlight is ideal. Setting them in a windowsill or outside for 3-5 hours will work perfectly! You can soak them in saltwater under the sun too. This amplifies their natural energy before adding your own.

~ To program & active each crystal you'll essentially be forming a bond with each one individually. You can do this simply by holding it in your dominant hand (usually the right hand as the left body is for recieving intuitive nudges), meditate with the crystal wrapped in both hands, envisioning what you'd like to accomplish together & commanding it to activate. I personally find that the universe works best when we say please & thank you. I also like to kiss my energy into each stone after we've spent a few moments bonding.

~ Now your crystals are ready to move energy & help you develop your growth! All you have to do is place them accordingly in your home or carry them on you. Again, I find it best to only carry about 2 on me at a time. I have also found that sleeping with too many in my room gives me restless sleep, even just 1 high vibrational stone on my dresser is usually too much for me, but the lower chakra stones or blue stones are usually okay. Some people keep them on an altar or in a grid (YouTube is very helpful for learning gridwork) some keep them in windowsills - just use caution as some stones get sunbleached - & some people like me have a few crystals in each room! You can look into the best placements for each stone you own for best uses & placements depending on your intentions.

I get the most potent dreams with Red Garnet under my pillow & Blue Kyanite on my side table. I keep a large Rose Quartz, medium Amethys & Selanite, & some smaller Obsidian, Moonstone, Laborodite, Rainbow Hematite & Quartz pieces & Gold flakes on my dresser... Although as I'm typing this im wondering if that Laborodite is why I haven't been sleeping as well or if it's just all the Eclipse & Retrograde Energy going around in this 2021 air 😆

4. venom drench, a suguru pokemon au

in which you and suguru are partners pitted against each other for a promotion within the organized crime organization known as team rocket, notorious throughout the kanto region for being impossible to take down.

this originally started as the setup for a different pokemon au but it ended up growing a mind of its own so i caved and let it be its own fic NSKJFDSF 

but ive even been thinking of repurposing it for smth thats Not pokemon just bc the actual pokemon presence in this one is SO minimal lmao the snippet i managed to pull out of my ass has pokemon but the rest of the work...not so much

“don’t take it personally,” suguru says, leaning close. you want nothing more than to rip his perfect hair out of his scalp, but his seviper’s coiled around your midsection. “it’s not your fault i wanted it more. really, i should be thanking you.” long fingers brush against your jaw, and you suppress the shiver it sends up your spine. “who knew you could be such a graceful loser?”

you use his proximity as a chance to spit on his face. it works, and his fingers retract to wipe your saliva off his cheek. “maybe not,” he amends. a childish part of you preens at the small victory, a battle won despite the war lost. 

“for the record,” he adds, an afterthought as he walks off, “i did enjoy our time together. but you know how it goes. all good things come to an end, shit like that.” he releases your honchkrow from its ball, and the bird squawks in confusion as he orders it to fly away. “now, if you’ll excuse me, i’ve got a flight to catch.”

suguru leaves, the oranges of the setting sun painting him as some hero off to save the day. you curse, shifting your weight as much as you can to try and escape his seviper’s hold. the only thing you get out of it is a greater loss to blood circulation.

if he was the hero, you must be the villain. there’s no going back to the boss once suguru gets to headquarters with the president in tow. you feel the gears move in your head as the plan changes.

6. heart swap, a sugawara pokemon au

you wouldn’t have guessed it when you first met, but sugawara koushi has done nothing but change your life in ways both big and small.

the parentheses are from the Present...the gimmick for this one is that suga and the reader are just retelling the events of the fic but im still figuring out if i should also use present tense for the non-parentheses parts or past tense since its,, technically The Past

(“you’re sure you don’t need to use the bathroom, right?” you ask. “we’re gonna be here for a while.”

“don’t worry about me,” daichi assures, waving a hand. you and sugawara exchange a glance; at daichi’s side was one of those obnoxiously large water bottles. the thing’s  like a bathroom break waiting to happen, but sugawara just sighs.)

the air smells different in slateport city. it’s less crisp than the colder canalave, but that was to be expected. the scent of saltwater gets carried along the gentle breeze. as you step off the ship, roserade gasps beside you, taking in the new sights and smells. she hums contentedly, taking in the sunlight.

you slip the thick leather gloves on and hold a hand out for her to take. to account for her wonder at all the ships docked in the new environment, you slow your pace down. if your calculations were correct, you had under five days to register for the hoenn contest circuit.

quirkless izuku, his backstory is mostly the same

all might decided that hero work had too much red tape. if he was going to take down afo, he needed the freedom to do whatever he had to and he wasnt getting that working within the law

so hes a,,, viilllaaaiinnn?? like. stain. but less murdery, would also save civilians if they were in danger

he has 0 qualms about crippling fake heroes but hes not a fan of murder

nighteye is still his sidekick, he doesnt use his quirk on allmight bc all might h a t e s it

hes kinda on board with "the future is only set in stone because you've seen it now" so he wants the freedom to break fate. but its very useful to get info, so nighteye just uses it on other people

allmights villain costume is reallll similar to his hero costume. just less eye bleeding

izuku has always kinda been a big fan of all might. not openly because hes legally a villain and very much paints himself as one, but his quirk is one of the most amazing things izuku has ever seen

when he looks closer, all might has never let a civilian get hurt once hes been on scene. hes taken hits to protect housing, hes pulled heroes from the line of fire

izuku watches his sports festivals and wonders why? why did all might, the man who happily told the world he'd stop at nothing to keep them safe, suddenly flip sides like that for no reason?

izuku doesnt buy it

izuku's big yellow backpack is a big red one in this universe, hes had it so long its gone pink but he still loves it

the sludge villain

all might saves him and izuku is crying. allmight thinks its because hes scared but izuku just turns to him with this big weepy eye smile and gives him the most genuine thanks he thinks hes ever been given

(its honestly the shock of that that makes him deflate into small might, which has izuku scrambling to find tissues and called an ambulance before he thinks better of calling emergency services for All Might)

izuku is like "Im SO SORRY SIR ARE YOU oK"

all might doesnt get the chance to anser because there is a massive explosion in the distance

its bakugo!! hes dying

the sludge villain got away bc izuku and all might were chatting a little

izuku hears it and he feels this terrible realization, because its probably not bakugo? but its definitely bakugo because izuku's life is falling to pieces

he sprints towards him and katsuki will n e v e r admit it but he feels hope in that moment because some one is trying to help. even if its just izuku, he wasnt totally left for dead

all might sees this tiny, nervous, quirkless kid run straight up to a villain that almost killed him seconds before to save someone what looks like they'd rather die

and he thinks

"no one deserves one for all more than him"

and allmight, the most wanted villain in japan, maybe the world, jumps in

the heroes look at him and they are scared. if they couldnt take the sludge villain, what is all might going to do to them? but the scariest man in japan, the person parents tell their kids about to stop them from going out at night, blows the sludge villain to tiny pieces and carefully, gently, places the two boys by the heroes

before he vanishes before they can call for backup or even ask why

izuku gets yelled at by the heroes because the heroes are scared and angry they couldnt stop either of the villains and izuku is so overwhelmed that hes crying and he can hardly breathe

bakugo doesnt even yell at him because hes so dazed about everything that happened and he cant make himself yell at this sobbing kid that used to be his friend

(bakugo is holding izukus hand like hes going to crush it but its the only thing keeping izuku present)

izuku is walking home and hes still hicuping and crying because he almost died and the heroes hate him and he feels a hand on his shoulder, and a soft :"its ok now my boy"

he knows its all might but he cant help but hide his face in his shirt and sob

all might gets down so he can look izuku in the eye

"you asked me if you could be someone with out a quirk and i didnt get the chance to answer. my answer? you already are someone. you are someone that inspired me, a villain, to save the day. you are going to be amazing"

and looks him dead in the eye "you'll do amazing things, even with out a quirk. but, you of all people deserve one, and no matter what you chose to do with it, it can be yours. hero, villain or someone in between"

izuku looks at this villain

this painfully thin villain, who just saved his life and who has unimaginable strength

and he throws his arms around his waist and sobs

inko isnt a great mum in this au and she likes to basically pretend izuku doesnt exist

izuku trains a lot and has to make his own food bc his mum just ignores him

he sneaks out at night to clear trash and sneaks back in before dawn to clean the sand from his hair

he smells like saltwater and rust, and he hasnt slept more than 4 hours a night in weeks and katsuki is worried

all might sees him crumbling with a smile stuck on his face and he wants to stop him from self-destructing, but the kid will never learn his lesson until he feels his body give up under what hes doing to it. if all might steps in he'll do it again and again until no one stops him and hes never learnt his limit.

so he waits and he watches while he pretends he cant see the bags under his eyes and pretends that everytime izuku sways on his feet he doesnt feel a jolt of deep panic

did he do this? if he the reason izuku looks like hes falling apart before his eyes?

the kid passes the fuck out and all might tells him off in a soft dad way and izuku cries bc why does this villain care more than his mum does

and all might catches the end of that little mumble, and feels terrible so he pretends he didnt hear and takes him for lunch

they go to a cafe and all might buys izuku the cutest slice of cake and a big ass bowl of katsudon and some fancy fucking tea and covers the kids eyes every time he tries to look at the prices

izuku looks at all might and asks

"are you buying me katsudon with crime money"

and all might looks sheepish and izuku giggles like an idiot and says "dont tell me ill feel bad!!!"

all might grins bc this kid is honestly the only reason he hasnt stabbed a pro hero in a few months bc hes so fucking sweet

he has to carry izuku half the way home bc the kid could barely lift his chopsticks and almost fell asleep in the booth after he finished eating

and allmight, skinny and kinda scary is giving his 15 year old a piggy back and someone says "you're such a good dad!" and he almost coughs up his last lung

izuku mumbles sleepily and hes has the biggest warm and fuzzy feeling and hes going to yell bc hes All Might the No. 1 Villain and this fucking kid is drooling on his sweater but he would die for him

some random stranger on the street commenting on how it was rly fortunate that izuku inherited his adorable smile from his father

all might, abt to burst into tears: whack

allmight is easily flustered even when hes killed a man

he comes home and inko isnt there so he has to like, wake up izuku to get him to open the door and he feels bad bc izuku is a Sleepy Man

izuku mumbles that he cant ever tell if shes at home or not because nothing changes and all might feels a wave of "wait my son isnt being parented enough"

so he makes izuku a cup of tea and tucks him into bed after he has a shower because izuku is His Son Now Inko

hes like

sitting in the living room reading the paper and he hears inko's car and hes like ",,, fuck it im walking out the front door im no coward"

she doesnt even notice and hes going to scream because does she have a brain

inko, spaced out, tired and terrible: oh is the tall man here for izuku :))) thats great :)))

all might would yeet her into the sun if he could but his boy needs an actual family member to make going to ua easier

inko is kinda mentally ill. she is depressed and often forgets she has izuku. like shes not always being terrible she just sometimes forget to do basic things

one time she locked izuku out of the house for 10 hours and he had to sleep next to the front door

one month she didnt buy any food so by the end of it he was starving and out of his own money and there was n o t h i n g in the house, but inko would go out to eat every night and lunch and not take her son

allmight is upset bc izuku didnt tell him but izuku is embarrassed. embarrassed that he was forgotten by his own mum, that he couldnt do anything to help her or himself and honestly mad he was so hungry all might noticed bc he didnt want to bug him

it was getting to the point that katsuki actually slipped some change into his bag with a candy bar

It was also the first time I went on a plane by myself so I was really nervous. The only other mode of long distance transport I've been on is a car ride that lasted three days. I hated it.

pink - which is your favourite animal? zoos or farms?: My favorite animal is definitely cats. I love them so much but my dad keeps insisting that, and I quote, "All cats hate humans. There is not a single cat on this planet that actually likes people. It's in their biology." and he also says that all cats are assholes and yes, a lot of them are, but like I still love them. And every time I mention how I want cats in the future my parents say "Cats? Not just one? What, are you going to be a crazy cat lady? I thought you ended your cat phase" when I usually mean like two or three. Also I prefer zoos, but I've never been to a farm so I can't actually say.

It's so fun to swim in actual waves and the saltwater just feels nice and it's cold and there's fish and I almost got stung by a man o war once but it was super pretty and the ocean is really pretty and I love it also seashells I've got some seashells and I really like them my favorite is a tiny seashell with no chips or cracks and it's adorable and I love it a lot and my favorite sea side down/city to visit is Palm Beach because the people are really nice and it's right be the ocean and that's the only one I've been to but still the ocean was right outside the window and I could walk like fifty feet and I'd be in the water I loved it so much I miss it

All these live actions and just no creativity. They don't take risks because they know they'll get money either way. But also Pixar is good too.

Dude I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in like January/february... I know that's a lil while away but do you have tips to survive it.

Buy your food ahead of time!Start with liquids and gradually work your way up to things like pudding and then actual solid foods (im not at solids yet lmao)Follow the intructions you're givenMake sure you take your meds (I have an antibiotic), but be wary of any painkillers they give you. I didn't take any because I was having trouble even swallowing the first day so my stomach was pretty empty and a lot of them can cause bad stomach pain. Several of my friends and my mom report vomitting and popping their stitches and getting dry socket (very painful) from vicodin. Ibuprofen worked just fine for me. If you need them take them though, just carefullyNo straws! They can pop your stitches!Make sure when you're allowed to that you regularly do a warm saltwater rinse to keep the areas clean. Dont spit or swish it around though just tilt your head to move it around and then let it pour out of your mouth. Naps. And Sleep with your head elevated and at least for the first night have a towel over your pillow. There will be bloody drool.You may need to buy extra gauze. My bleeding didn't stop after I ran out of what the oral surgeon gave me so my mom had to go get more.Try to have someone for at least the first day who can help take care of you.Eat pineapple the two days before the surgery. It helps with swelling and healing.Ice as instructed by your surgeon.Follow the pre surgery instructionsDrink a lot of water, especially on the first day! It's VERY important to stay hydratedDont touch your stitchesTea bags can help stop the bleeding because of the taninHave a bunch of books/movies/tv shows/video games/etc to keep you busyDont watch/do anything that will make you laugh or cry hard or a lot. It hurts.You may get dissolvable stitches. I didn'tyou might be super loopy when you get out, you might not. I was extremely lucid, and other than the fact that I had gauze in my mouth, you wouldnt have been able to tell that I just came from getting my wisdom teeth out. A friend of mine on the other hand, made faces in the car mirror and laughed at herself the whole way home, only to not remember any of it. If you dont want to be filmed or photographed by whoevers there with you, tell themDont eat anything too hot or too cold or any level of spicy for a whileEven after you heal it could be a while before you can eat certain foods stillHave someone who's willing to let you complain to them a lot over the next several days lmaoThe gauze gets truly disgusting just a heads up Make sure you change your gauze however often your instructions saySome foods I've been eating:Day 1: water, gatorade (a mistake. It make my mouth feel sticky and gross. Juice could be fine though!), pudding, an ice pop, baby foodDay 2: milkshake with that instant breakfast stuff mixed in, pudding, applesauce, warm (not hot!) Cream of chicken soup, baby foodDay 3: another milkshake with the instant breakfast stuff but with bananas blended in, pudding, applesauce, jello, egg drop soup, some noodle cut up very very small and mixed with my soup so I could swallow them wholeDay 4 (today!): applesauce, warm tea, more of the banana milkshake, pancakes DRENCHED in butter and syrup and mashed up, mashed potatoesYou may be able to eat solid foods sooner or later than me, it all depends. I have a friend whose stitches popped on day 2 and had a steak on day 3 and was fine. This is a very unlikely thing to happen and tbh a bad example to follow but it is possible apparently. Other people take longer to be able to safely/comfortably eat solidsThis is all I can think of right now, but if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

As many of you may have already guessed from my recent horde of posts, I went to Australia a little while back. To say that this was the best trip of my life would be an understatement, because in reality I feel as if I have come back part Australian myself. So, settle in and grab some Tim Tams (Walmart in Canada sells them you can thank me later) as I take you through all the things I saw, did, and most importantly, what I ATE.

Now I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t apprehensive about the trip from the beginning, mainly because I feel like everyone did such a great job of terrifying me about every living creature that could possibly kill me. In reality I did not see a single snake, crocodile, spider, shark, or jellyfish. So, if anyone tries to describe Australia as some sort of zoo gone wild, I think that’s rubbish (that’s Australian for garbage).

I was also apprehensive about meeting my family after what had been over 14 years. And I know it sounds funny to be scared of seeing one’s own family, but I felt that so much time had passed since we had been together that they no longer knew who I was, and the memory of the sweet child they once knew was far from the reality of the crazy parade that you all know (and hopefully love) today.

Anyways, here I was, on a continuous 16-hour flight from Vancouver to Sydney, then on to Melbourne.

Day 1: I land in Melbourne in the afternoon, and am picked up by my parents and my cousin (a Melbourne local). Sadly, due to the tight schedule of my trip, I did not get to explore the city as we drove right from the airport and began on our road trip (I’ll come back Melbourne I promise!). We headed straight towards the historic Great Ocean Road (See photos below). If you are ever fortunate enough to visit Australia, this drive is a MUST. The coastal villages nestled between seaside cliffs and white sandy beaches are one of the most spectacular sights I have laid my eyes upon. For dinner, we stopped at Lorne where I had a life changing laksa and green coconut curry at a place called Chopstix.

After witnessing a sunset that I assumed was painted by Bob Ross, we headed into the Great Otway National park where we had a cabin booked for the night. The drive through this pitch-black jungle was more eventful than you would assume as we were visited by many kangaroos hopping along, baby koalas just sitting on the road, and the cleansing smell of eucalyptus following you throughout the journey.

Day 2:  We continued along the Great ocean road, stopping at the 12 Apostles. The apostles are a series of limestone stacks formed by years or erosion. The place was bustling with tourists and children on school trips but no one seemed to mind the crowd as everyone was affiliated on the stunning views of the limestone cliffs and the sound of waves crashing below. We continued along the scenic drive towards Robe, where we would be meeting my aunt and uncle. For dinner we had Pizza (not like Dominos, but GOOD pizza) at The Project.

Day 3: Spent the day just exploring the town of Robe. The town is essentially a quaint seaside village filled with cute little shops and restaurants. It kind of gave off a Hamptons vibe except much smaller and with less real housewives starting fights inside artisan cheese shops (although they may have just been hiding in a bush somewhere along with all the snakes, crocodiles, and sharks I was warned about). Lunch and dinner were made at home (our Air B&B). While in Robe, we also went cheese tasting at a family owned dairy right outside of town and did a little wine tasting at a small booth set up on the sidewalk (I know that sounds sketchy but it was actually really cute). Lunch and dinner were cooked at home.

Day 4: After breakfast (more like brunch), we started driving towards Adelaide where my family lives. We stopped along the drive once or twice however it was 42 C that day so I don’t think anyone could handle being outside for more than 5 mins. Went for a sunset walk to the beach once things cooled down slightly.

Day 5-6: Explored the beautiful city of Adelaide. Went to Cleland Wildlife Park where I got to pet a koala and feed kangaroos by hand. It took all my self control to not grab one of these adorable animals and run. Adelaide is also known for its great wine country and so we went wine tasting at D’Arenberg. The winery is absolutely stunning and features a Salvador Dali museum inside the building. The wine was great too but after glass number 3 it was all a little hazy to be quite honest. For the meals, we had great Chinese food (thanks Groupon), and Pies. No, not dessert pies, but savoury meat (and vegetarian) pies that can be found everywhere in little shops called bakeries. I miss the pies.

Day 7: Left Adelaide early in the morning and flew to Cairns. Cairns is along the Northeast coast of Australia (or as I like to call it, the cat ear. Yes, Australia is shaped like a cat’s head. I refuse to believe otherwise), and it is also labelled the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. We actually stayed in Port Douglas which is a 30-minute drive north of Cairns and even closer to the reefs. This whole area is reminiscent of something you would see on Survivor or Castaway.  White sandy beaches met with dense tropical rainforests, and the water a vibrant turquoise. Oh, did I mention the temperature was 30 C the whole time? (someone please take me back, I’m begging…)

Day 8: Started the morning by going to the local farmers market (which is a great place to find souvenirs made by local artists), followed by a full day tour of the Great Barrier Reef with Quicksilver. Now I know these tours are expensive BUT let me just tell you that they are absolutely worth every penny. It was one of the most surreal moments of my life to be snorkeling in 25-degree water among schools of thousands of fish and delicate coral. There is a reason the Great Barrier Reef is considered one of the natural wonders of the world, and I am fortunate enough to have experienced it in all its glory. Lunch was served aboard the ship. For dinner we had Thai food at Star of Siam (best Tom Yum Soup I’ve had). Something else I noticed was that Australia’s proximity to Southeast Asia meant that there was amazing Southeast Asian food (also seafood, LOTS of seafood!).

Day 9: Spent the day exploring Daintree Rainforest. I hiked through a tropical rainforest and did not see a single snake or spider (although I did have anxiety that I would see one. To all those who scared me with stories of terrifying snakes in AUS, please message me… I just wanna talk…). Although I did really want to see a crocodile since they are really prevalent in this area (I love crocodiles I think they are very cute no I’m not crazy). For dinner we had Indian food at Sabi’s Kitchen. (Here’s a riddle for you: what do you call an Indian family that goes on vacation and doesn’t eat Indian food? They’re probably not Indian.) (I’m not complaining, I love Indian food!)

Day 10: Left Port Douglas for Cairns and stopped along the Palm Cove area where we went swimming. Later, In Cairns we had dinner at Bayleaf Balinese Restaurant. After dinner we ventured into the Cairn’s night market. I really suggest you go to this night market because you can get all your souvenir shopping done! (I may or may not have bought 10 fridge magnets and multiple t-shirts.)

Day 11: We had booked a train journey on the historic Kuranda Rail. The train ride was over two hours, and takes you up the mountain while offering sweeping views of the coastline below. At the top of the mountain is the Kuranda village which is filled with art galleries, shops, and restaurants. On the way down, we opted to take the cable car, and stopped at each of the three stops. Each stop has small hiking trails that take you deeper into the dense world heritage listed rainforest and offer spectacular views. Fun fact: this is the same rainforest that inspired the setting from James Cameron’s Avatar.

Day 12: In the morning we explored the Cairns Botanical Gardens which feature the wonders of the natural rainforest found in the area. In the afternoon we arrived for our flight to Sydney. We landed in Sydney and were met by more members of our family. Dinner at home.

Day 13: This was my only day in Sydney, and so I wanted to explore as much as I could! Started the day off at the Harbour Bridge, followed by a tour of the Sydney Opera House. I really recommend taking this tour as it is the only way to get inside the Opera House, plus it offers an insight into the history and architecture of the building. Later we took a ferry from the harbour to Manly Beach where we went swimming (this beach is absolutely amazing, please put it on your list. You’ve been keeping a list, right?!?) For dinner, our family took us to the Indian neighborhood in Sydney where I got to experience the best Indian street food outside of India (maybe it was just as good, who knows? I was busy stuffing my face)

Day 14: Woke up, had brunch with the family, and then headed for the airport to return home. I did strongly consider just sneaking out of the airport and starting my life as an Australian surfer dude named Joey. Flight back home was horrible mainly because I was returning to -15C weather.
