is it just me or was the Buck lawsuit mini arc in season 3 kind of a flop? i feel like they could have done so much more relationship building between Bobby and Buck.

if Bobby is truly Buck's father figure and trying to protect him from himself, why don't we get a resolution making that textual?

Bobby told Buck the reason why he took him off the field was to protect the other 20 or so firefighters in his care... but the audience is led to believe it's more personal than that. and yet. they don't take it anywhere??

the conclusion of the episode is that Bobby accepts that Buck will always be a little reckless and Buck is accepting that he's not invincible and to be more patient. but the tone is very much still employee/boss.

there's no pinnacle father-son moment between the two, full of emotional release and/or admitted familial ties and responsibility. no hugs. no teary eyes. no "i care about you, Buck" or "you're family, i need you to be safe."

i was left there wondering where our found family moment was. but maybe that's just me.

I want to root for Hen and her wife, but I find it almost impossible to get past cheating. Agh.

They’re bringing up Bobby’s relapse. I don’t like that at all.

Holy shit the Michael car scene. That might be the most tense I’ve been in this show. Heartbreaking. The kids :(

Why is Athena defending the police? What’s happening here?

Yeah I really don’t understand what Buck thought was going to happen. This made everyone hate you. And you thought that after suing them they’d just be all giddy to have you back?

Eddie being pissed at Buck simply because doing this means they can’t talk to each other and Christopher misses Buck is so fucking domestic. I can’t believe they didn’t intend these two to be together lol everything points to it. “You wouldn’t know because you’re not around!” That’s like the kind of shit he said to his wife.

I'm still not over the fact that Eddie actually said the words "You know how much Christopher misses you? How could you? You're not around!" like... the word choice is exactly how you'd talk to a romantic partner, someone who has obligations towards your shared kid and not fulfilling them... like. Come on.

I did appreciate the foreknowledge of the lawsuit though I am stressed right now.
