eddie got brushed off so fast even he was like “really? can she really tell? we spent two seconds together? i mean i know she gave a totally valid and fool proof reason to let me down but surely that wasn’t the actual reason and it’s actually because i’m gay. but i’m still attractive to women right? because i need to keep up this act that i can and do appeal to women or my best friend will actually figure out that i’m totally, irreversibly in love with him.”
Phillip and Margaret Buckley actually going to the hospital to see Buck post-6x10, but the nurse is like “Uh, I’m sorry, his parents are actually already in there with him...?”
It's all about the kids being the anchor to their parents life whenever they are in danger.
Buck being the one to make Bobby come out of his shell and fight for his life (his sobriety).
Christopher being who Eddie fights to come back to.
Christopher telling Buck to come back and Buck's perfect dreamworld being broken when he is being reminded of the tsunami and told that Eddie and his son aren't even living together.
It's all about fighting to come back to life, literally and metaphorically, home to your family.
watching one of the characters i relate to the most tackle his self deprecating thoughts and suicidal ideations and PHYSICALLY fight against them to go back to the life he now believes he’s worthy of was one of the most important things i’ve ever watched in media. the portrayal from oliver in that scene of buck against himself was incredible and amazing and meaningful and i really hate that some people are glossing over that bc they didn’t get everything they wanted out of the episode
I've actually been thinking about Shannon a lot for the past few days even before the sneak peek lol, and based on my whole dash rn, I feel like it's finally a safe time and space to say this:
I really loved Shannon, since her first episode
like, yeah she had her faults and she fucked up by essentially abandoning her child and husband but like, that kind of makes her more compelling?
because she was such a well-rounded, complex character, and both the writing and the performance were so good and made me feel so sympathetic towards her
and the confirmation that she was basically a child when she had Chris!!! 😭💔 (I have thoughts about that too but gonna leave it for now bc 😭)
like, she was a good character, and I enjoyed her so much, and I'm so happy Chris is talking about his mama in 6x15, it makes me so emotional 🥺🥺🥺
That ep was amazing, I have so many thoughts, but did anyone else think Buck was already in his coma dream when Chim called him ‘Evan’ with his look of pure confusion??
That promo tho. Focusing on Bobby and Athena having each other's backs in thst orange Grove, Hen and Karen and Hen fighting to save her love and then Buck and Eddie. Eddie screaming his name when Buck's in trouble just like we just heard Hen screaming for Karen.
The way that promo is put together it feels like them showing what's happen to the set couples (minus madney) and then putting Buck and Eddie on the same level.
The fact that the writers made Eddie the "angry man" "someone who lost a custody of his kid because he couldn't handle being a single dad and firefighter" is upsetting.
Bacause I can't believe they think he wouldn't be able to handle it. Him, Eddie Diaz!
But also...*giggles* the writers made Buck's existence so important in Eddie's life from the beginning that without him, he would loose everything.
I’m sorry, but the parallel of Buck being so uncomfortable and not being able to sleep on his new couch but then being so comfortable on Eddie’s couch that he falls asleep as soon as he sits down is just-
