Tim didn’t originally introduce Marisol. KR did. So her initial introduction was botched.

This introduction means Tim found ways to weave Marisol in, so the audience can see her and grow to like her. It sounds like, based on that, they’re wanting to keep her around.

Sorta worried she’s going to be in some 911 adjacent position. I don’t think we know what she did for work, did we? So they could literally have her being a nurse or something, or is remodelling the fire house or something. To keep her in the fold.

Ryan said Eddie’s more relaxed and fun-loving and accepting of stuff this season, and we know there’s a sex scene (or at least a lack of clothes scene) with Marisol at some point, which for Eddie is pretty serious. They never showed him hooking up with Ana, even when we know they did. Showing it is more serious and I can totally see them doing that to prove he’s a “man’s man” type of guy🙄 The actress didn’t post any pictures from the wedding, but she may just not be in the scene and she could still be dating Eddie. Gavin wasn’t in formal clothes, but he’s main cast so it makes sense that he would go to the party. Marisol and Chris may be hanging out together during the wedding time, but somewhere else.

I’m team Buddie all the way, but solely based on what I’ve seen in interviews and BTS, I’m not getting my hopes up. If I’m wrong and Marisol is gone after 5 episodes, great!!!!! But idk, I think she’s going to be forced on the audience and kept.

We had a bts photo of a body bag recently didn’t we? And then that bts photo with the marker tape on the ground with all of them there at what looked like Hens house?

The marker tape of all of them wasn’t at hens house, it’s a random house for a call.

Plus there are a finite number of colours of tape so just because all the colours are there doesn’t mean all the mains are there - it’s far more likely that the firefam - Bobby, Hen, Chim, Buck and Eddie are there and that Athena and Maddies tapes are being used by guest cast.

Even if it was hens house - as in the set - it doesn’t mean it’s actually Hens house - again it could be being used as a different location - they use Eddie’s in that way all the time!

As to the body bag - I’m not entirely sure why we’re all getting worked up over it - they’re first responders - people die on calls all the time! And if you’re asking in relation to Oliver getting fitted for dress blues - I’m still not seeing how people are jumping to thee worst explanation- we literally have zero evidence for that body bag being connected to a main. It could be for literally anyone and the crew just wanted to take a cool picture! The most likely candidate for the body bag is the nurse from Bobbys past - something about the fact he’s a burns unit nurse plays into Bobbys arc - and the idea of bobby being burned once more - or having to face up to the scars left by burns - is symbolic. I don’t have fully formed thoughts on that front yet - they e been percolating for a few days. But I’m all honesty I expect it to be for a generic (as generic as things can be in 911 land) call.

So yeah - not sure why we’re all going for fatalistic tonight - maybe Oliver didn’t create enough chaos today 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ but this show doesn’t do sad ends to seasons - so I’m not expecting the dress blues to be for sad reasons at all and definitely not connected to the random body bag!

I’m thoroughly depressed. Wish I hadn’t let myself start to believe we’d get new episodes in March like so many other shows. Another 10 months plus to wait. That is so long. Who will even remember what happened (I mean I know we all will, but the casual viewer?). The fandom is already not in a great place and to have to wait 1.5 years for new content I’m not sure how many will stick around. I’m not sure the show will survive this. So now very worried Season 5 will be the last, and we won’t get a full run to wrap it up. Curse you studios for your greed and making the strike last so long. And the poor cast and crew -I am sure they are itching to get back to work and deserve annd need to get paid but now guess now there is no rush. Probably not back on set until when, mid January? I presume they will still finish shooting in April/May to get a summer break but there will just be a long wait for it to air rather than airing as the film. It all sucks. I just want my beloved Tarlos back 😢😭😢😭😢😭

It does suck. It really does. But here are a few reasons to be optimistic:

1) the episodes aren’t going to be written and filmed and produced in a mad rush, so that will almost certainly increase their quality, even tho it’s a shorter season.

2) I’ve seen people say the main cast signed contracts for 6 seasons, and with the departure of of 911, lone star is now fox’s most popular show and therefore biggest money maker. I am confident we’ll get at least a season six.

3) the fandom will change, because fandoms always do. People will drift away and new people will join. But this fandom is such a strong community I have no doubt we can handle 10 months, especially once new information and bts content starts coming in.

4) @strandnreyes and I are cooking up something to keep us all engaged with our beloved characters in the meantime.

LOL anon I had the same thought when I saw C’s post. She’s def someone who changes herself for a man. I expect it’s part of why her and R fundamentally didn’t work. But her whole posting is such a mess now… she has no personality or authenticity online, especially between the two accounts. Not surprised her followers slowly continue to drop. Glad so far she’s kept Xmas posting to a minimum for the kids… but fully expecting a shot at R in some kind of new years post!

Where do you usually see BTS stuff posted? Like I’ve seen Aisha post some I think, but would the legit ABC 911 accounts post some too? Or is it solely like actors/people from the show? I’m so excited for it!

I am also like that one anon who said they love Buddie as main ship, but Chim is just such a character and Kenny is too. I agree wholeheartedly - I find Kenny pretty hilarious. I like that there are so many good pieces to the cast and show, I think that helps with appreciating Buddie and how it plays into the relationships in the show too!

Long time GA fan here: ABC has been doing the bare minimum for GA as well, most of the media promo and interviews they get are bc of their brand. Their social medial was dying until KMK, Camila and the youngest actors tookover during episodes.

I'm not talking solely on minimum promo but budget. They haven't hired any big or good writer to replace the ones that left, the few new actors linked to s20 seem to be involved in loving storyline and they haven't rebuilt a big part of the GS studio.

Shondaland used to have a contract that linked all of their shows together (you couldn't just cancel one of them). That's why S19 survived those first 2 seasons with low numbers. GA is standing there for the name brand and the streaming numbers but they couldn't care less about the quality, they just need some revenue and the big netflix/s+ money.

Some voices are talking on shortened s21 or even surprise cancel by next year, they are just avoiding the buzz of doing them all now

That makes sense...I think it's become clear that Grey's is still on the air because of it's brand name and the streaming numbers and how well known it is all over the world so ABC doesn't really have to do much at all to promote it when it speaks for itself. But I still think when you compare it to the promo/budget to Station 19, it still clears that and obviously it would being the main show and being on the air for 19+ seasons now. At least a decent amount of the cast is still involved in the promotion and they are usually always doing a takeover when an episode is airing and the Grey's Instagram account seems to post more BTS content compared to S19 which again isn't saying much at this point.

It probably is the next to go and they probably didn't want to do them both at once because of the optics of it but it wouldn't surprise me...I get the streaming numbers are good but the weekly ratings haven't been and after 20 seasons...how much longer do you really need to go? The show isn't nearly as good as it used to be and these newer characters aren't providing the spark they probably hoped they would. They are really putting all their eggs in 911/Ryan Murphy's basket though so they better hope it all works out for them.

Honestly I think 911’s biggest weakness is a lack of planning. We already know that their original plans for S5 fell through, resulting in BT being drawn out because Megan was available. Which, good for her, get that bag sis. Would love to know what the original plan was, but I know I never will.

And they also couldn’t have been more clearly setting something up with Ravi and his childhood cancer storyline. But for one reason or another they failed to get Anirudh under contract. Why? Who knows. Maybe they took for granted that he’d be available next year so they didn’t make it worth his commitment, which is silly with such a handsome, talented, and likable actor. He’s off to bigger and better things, and again good for him get that bag! Or maybe it’s more complicated than that and again we’ll never know.

In any case they had to drop that thread and chose to go with ignoring him entirely and hoping the audience would just forget, which to be fair has worked with some of their fuckups in the past, but not this time, guess they underestimated just how much people liked him, so they had to come up with some last-second off screen excuse for why he literally disappeared and no one even mentioned his name again. Not to mention writing Chimney off because JLH was on leave. Baffling decision making, honestly.

And anyway they don’t seem to be very good at making Plan A happen, and when it doesn’t instead of having a solid Plan B or C, they scramble and the story suffers. Then add in admitted problems with pacing and filling time and the story stops working because the tension is lost and the payoff fizzles out. Their very own metaphorical structural defects being ignored, bound to come crashing down eventually. You know that old adage about failing to plan is planning to fail. It’s true!

This is BEYOND old but like, so appropriate for right now! I honesty don't think they NEEDED to pad out time with Tay Kay because they have SUCH a large main cast, but that would require KR to care about something other than what is going on in Buck's pants and any given moment, and because SHE wanted BT, we got BT despite it making no sense to have even brought her character back in s4. What did she even do that no one else could have done? Getting *some* possible inside info in Treasure Hunt and the *getting the story on the news* bit in First Responders is the only thing I can think of, and honestly they easily could have figured out a different way. But the show cannot seem to have Buck or Eddie in a relationship without the other then seeking out one too because otherwise they don't really have anything to do when they can't be involved in their normal family unit. Which is dumb, because they could work on Eddie's friendships and relationships with other cast and same with Buck in letting them be involved in other storylines, but apparently good looking men have no other purpose but to seek out a woman to complete their family I guess, and god forbid they be allowed around each other if one of them is dating. 😒

(also why I'm very 😒😒😒 about them getting other LIs. I remember Buck not being allowed to talk to anyone but Tay Kay while trapped in his loft for 98% of s5. I hate the idea of losing out on not just romantic Buddie, but their whole friendship and the Buckley-Diaz family unit. Eddie isn't going to need Buck to bake cookies with Chris if he has a GF to do it. Buck isn't going to need to cook for Eddie and Chris and help Chris with his homework if he's busy going out with his GF. There is SO much more we lose out on when those two are pared up with other women than just romantic Buddie and regardless if these women stick around long term, I'm tired and don't want to watch MORE wasted time, and more important talks they COULD be having with each other or their chosen family members going to random characters I don't know or care about. 🤷🏻‍♀️)

As for Ravi, I'm SO happy we clamored loud enough to get him back, and also good for him for picking up other jobs when KR sidelined him and gave all his moments to L instead. You go King! But they've known he was going to be back for ages so the fact they have STILL not mentioned him in s6 until he's randomly back on screen is just a) poor planning, pacing, and things happening off screen that KR thinks is fine to mention in interviews instead of actually on the show people are watching, and b) feels very vindictive because everyone loved him and hated her little self-insert character. But whatever, he's back now and I'm very excited to see him again!

But for REAL, they need to get KR out of the showrunner chair. The pacing and arcs and whole entire show has suffered enough that even the GA is tired of cyclical plots and characters going nowhere just repeating the same storylines over again, and with the show not having the depth and feeling it used to have. When even the casual viewers are picking up on and calling out things like Buck and Eddie's friendship being sidelined, or Madney stuff happening off screen, you KNOW it's bad. Also, regardless of demo (which doesn't matter as much anymore with them not getting ad revenue as much, thanks T for pointing that out!) the number of viewers has dropped DRAMATICALLY. And at some point the network cannot justify spending that kind of money on a show that isn't bringing in the money OR accolades. (like LS getting notice and awards for it's representation and diversity for example).

I'm not sure if you know this answer but you seem to be the Bubbie Bible so it's a shot lol. Are the same writers and show runners still in place from S2 and on. I have to admit my favorite seasons were 2 and 3.. 5 was my least favorite and it really was just over all critiques. Like yes we got some good Buddie content but there was just also so much left out.

I really wanted to see the St. Louis conversation. The Chim Buck Conversation. The Eddie reaction to the BT break up.

I was told more then I was shown and I'm curious if it's just because we know the characters so much now we are supposed to interpret it? I think I'm just prepping myself for S6 expectations. Thanks for any insight!!

Hi dear Nonnie! Thank you for the lovely title, I kinda love it, though I have no idea whether I actually get to claim it. I will do my best for you, though! *hugs*

So the biggest change is that in s5, Tim Minear stepped away from being the main show runner for 911, he did this to more closely supervise 911 LS, but it's not like he's out of the picture completely. Instead of him, Kristen Reidel has stepped in to be the main show runner (though presumably she still answers to Tim if need be). She has been with the show since s1, she has been co-executive producer since back then and a full executive producer since s3. She has also written more than ten eps herself (the first one again going back to s1. She also wrote 205, which is when the team gives the verbal middle finger to what is clearly a reference to the homophobic Westboro Baptist "church", as well as 301, which gave us Eddie having Buck's key as canon, Buddie hugging, plus generally kick started the beloved tsunami arc. Maybe most importantly, she wrote 414, with the will reveal. Most recently, she wrote 503, which gave us Eddie breaking up with Ana, but first telling Buck about it, clearly showing Buck was the one who got Eddie to do it, as well as 517 and 518, which gave us Buck in the Diaz home, just being a natural part of whatever Eddie's going through). Lastly, she also directed eps 317 and 518.

I kinda went into details, because I do believe all of this means Kristen should have a pretty good grasp on what 911 wants to be, and what about it works. I do think she was thrown into rough circumstances, where she still had to navigate around covid issues (like Michael's actor being let go of because he refused to get vaccinated) in addition to having to build a season where a relatively big number of the actors for the show's loved characters weren't available to film (Maddie, Chim, Albert). I heard this is why Taylor's background in 507 and 509 was thrown in there, basically as filler since they were missing a lot of their cast. Though I still think that's a highly questionable decision (I would have much preferred it if they had used the extra time to delve into one of the more established characters), it did serve to better explain why Buck was willing to put up with a lot in that r/s. It showed him not exactly happy with some of Taylor's investigative ways in 507, but swallowing that down, and it also showed his fear of being abandoned dictating some of his actions in 509, plus let's not forget he's a naturally protective guy. Taylor in that ep def stirred that in him.

And I get it, I feel a bit cheated out of certain aspects as well. 911 might revisit them in the future, as it has done with some other issues in the past. I hope so. For example, we could still have a convo in s6 where Taylor is brought up and we get to see Eddie's glorious facial reactions, or hear what he has/had to say about the break up. All I'm saying is, given the obstacles in Kristen's way, then some of the shortcomings of s5 might be down to that. IDK what they'll do for s6, whether Tim will be back or what, but even if it is still Kristen at the helm, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll dislike s6. Not to mention, s5 def did deliver some things that fandom has wanted to see for a really long time, and even put Buck in the room! ;) I'm just saying, have heart. However you felt about s5 is legit, but s6 can still be a season you'll really love...

This is loving 911 Wednesday and the thing of the day I love is how the kids - both as characters and as actors - are treated in the show!

It would have been one thing to have a show that isn’t centred around kids get a couple of kids in the cast and just use them in the background.

But not on this show! Kids have their own storylines! Hell, probably the best storylines are about them! Think about the tsunami and Christopher, Nia and the Wilsons, Harry and his kidnapping, now Denny and his quest to find his bio dad. Not to mention that May is the first one of the main cast to get in trouble!

And I love love love that you can see that this bleeds in how they’re treated bts, because I feel like Stuck was born more out of the need to get Gavin to have a good time than anything else! Just like they did with Jee Yun/Bailey&Hailey and them having fun with Uncle Buck!

I don’t know. It feels like it’s really really sweet. I love this show ❤️

8. Least favourite character?

oh you're really looking for the controversial opinions aksdjh maybe abby??? i don't hate her but in terms of main characters who i'm supposed to root for i just was never really able to connect with her??? i like the purpose she serves in the narrative (particularly in 3x18) but as far as a character who's storyline i should be invested in, she never hooked me in the way any of the others did.

11. What character do you identify the most with?

i'd say it's a toss up between buck and eddie depending on the day aksdjh. buck specifically in 3x16 is something i relate to in a way that feels so real it's actually hard to watch. (and i can never get behind people who are like "oh but the 118 are still his friends/family" bc no i am sorry it's Not the same when everyone else is going home to partner and you're not because it means you're not anyone's first priority. so like yes, buck took his abandonment issues too far at times in s3 but i also absolutely understand his panic and upset in that ep)

with eddie, it's only something i've noticed over time but i definitely identify with the way he deals with his feelings. like the way he sort of feels the need to deal with everything on his own/without asking for help, y'know??? i'm very like that too so it makes my desire to see him open up increase tenfold askdjh

Whump: Main character gets into an accident and goes into a coma, in his coma he ends up in 1988. He gets flashes from the outside world trying to communicate with him that cause pain, disorientation, fainting.

Episode 1: (30:00) Present day, Han Tae-Joo has gun aimed at head, bullet grazes head, he collapses and is disoriented but gets up and stumbles down the street where he then gets hit by a car. 1988: Chased and taken to police station. (47:35) There his ears start ringing and he hears voices, dizzy, and confused.

Episode 2: (14:20) Minor episode with ringing ears, voice, bright lights. (52:00) Sees a flash of something and stumbles, brief.  

Episode 3: (00:00) Standing on roof, considering suicide thinking it will wake him from his coma. (25:05) Gets thrown down on a pool of blood and lays there looking dazed. As he’s cleaning off the blood he hears the voices again and is disoriented. (32:00) There’s a fight but it is all comedy, not whump. (1:04:00) Sees a picture of himself as a child in 1988 which is the time he’s in now. That messes him up and his ears start ringing again, bleeding from ear, and passing out.

Episode 4: (1:00:00) Very brief. At the end of the episode adult Han Tae-Joo runs into child Han Tae-Joo and he starts hearing the ringing again, things get distorted and he faints.

Episode 5: (00:00) Episode starts with him having a nightmare about his past. There’s a pounding on his door and he has a hard time waking up. Intense ear ringing and disorientation, heavy breathing, stumbling. Still out of it he gets carried outside by his partner who says he smells carbon monoxide (which is odorless btw??). Overall great scene, he gets checked out by a doctor afterwards. (25:20) He stands up from his desk and has another little episode of ringing, voices, etc., has to lean on his desk for support. Coworkers notice he’s acting weird and tell him to eat, he says he’s “not feeling too well”. (45:55) Severe episode, suddenly hit with head pain, ear ringing, heart pounding, he stumbles while holding his head then collapses in the street.

Episode 7: (49:55) Tae-Joo and his partners go into an armed hostage situation. When the gun goes off everything turns white and you see Tae-Joo in a coma in the real world, flatlining. He wakes up and is told that his partner took the bullet for him but he’s just fine.

Episode 8: (01:00) He gets overwhelmed by memories at a crime scene, walks out and seriously looks like he’s gonna faint, but he snaps out of it. (10:00) Same thing happens at an autopsy, his ears start ringing and walks out clutching his head. In the bathroom he throws up and continues to struggle as doctors try to communicate with him in his coma. They show him a BTS music video to try to wake him up (absolute gold) and he gets caught by his coworker screaming and punching at the mirror. He gets his hand bandaged. (36:00) Fight scene with some thugs. (1:00:00) Hit in the head with a rock, dazed and on the ground.

Episode 9: (26:00) Gets drugged when drinking at a club, his partner comes to get him and wake him up. Still groggy at the police station he stands up and everything goes fuzzy, the ringing and voices come back for a moment and sways, almost passing out but doesn’t. (37:50) Not really whump but he gets caught screaming at his tv like a lunatic.

Episode 10: (03:07) The person who hurt him before he went into a coma tries to talk to him in present day and says he’s going to kill him. Tae-Joo feels like he can’t breathe or his heart is gonna stop as doctors on the outside try to save him. All kinds of physical symptoms, clutching chest, falling down, dizzy, disoriented, etc. (6:42) His ears start ringing again and he finds that his ear is bleeding, there is a bright white light and he freaks out but the episode passes. (19:00) Sees a picture that triggers him, he grabs his head in pain and his nose starts bleeding. He walks off and continues to get flashing pain in his head, hears voices, and falls down.

Episode 12: (51:20) Gun held to head, it goes off and grazes his ear, he gets right back up and continues chasing the suspect. Then he gets stabbed in the abdomen and falls off a bridge into a river.

Episode 13: (00:00) Wakes up after getting pulled out of the river, stab wound not mentioned. (6:30) For the millionth time he stands up at his desk at the police station and his ears start ringing really loud, blurry vision, he looks completely out of it like he might pass out but then he’s fine. (44:50) Gets caught yelling at tv again.

Episode 14: (41:30) Marches into police station looking for something, he hears his doctors trying to talk to him, he’s dazed and papers are everywhere. Then it shows that he’s just standing there with one file in his hand when his coworker walks in, he looks at it, then at her, then face plants to the floor unconscious. He wakes up at the hospital and is told that his stab wound got infected and reopened. (56:25) He gets hit by a car, direct parallel to when he got hit in the first episode, is pretty roughed up but he manages to get up and run but before anything else can happen he wakes up from his coma in the real world.

Episode 15: No whump but it switches to present day from here forward.

Episode 16: (19:20) While listening to a 911 (or 112) call he hears the past instead and squeezes some kind of clip in his hand until it bleeds. (21:00) The ending is ambiguous, he jumps off the roof of the police station and ends up back in 1988, it is implied that he kills himself but I’d prefer to think of the 1988 storyline as the real one. He’s happy and back where he belongs, fuck the future.

From my comment I don't think I drugged ryan or put him down, and I clarified my statement. I just put my concern that's it. Not sure if the sneak peak is her first call as Cap but it looks to be an interesting one. But then we'll be getting some distressed Buck after losing a patient and I am looking forward to what comes from that, i have a feeling it will be song worthy. And no L this week! I know, I am just *bubbling* with excitement! We are getting Bathena united front, Captain Hen and her boys, some good looking calls, and a Buck/Hen emotional scene like???? It all sounds sooooo good and after dreading episodes last season and searching for crumbs, it's SO good to be excited again. Plus we are getting so much good Eddie bts pics?!?! The cast seems so happy and excited and it's contagious! No L for the foreseeable future and hopefully we won't have to hear her mentioned either (I swear if I have to put up with continual mentions of her while there are crickets about where Ravi is, I'm gonna scream), since there is enough going on with our mains to focus on!
