Bucky peeked around the privacy curtain. A kid, probably no older than 18, with straggly chestnut brown hair laid on the bed in nothing but his boxers. Black straps were secured across his bare legs, hips, chest and forehead, keeping him firmly in place. Bruce was working around them to assess the damage. Scrapes mostly, except for the large black bruise across half of his forehead. Then he noticed the small scar on the kid’s neck.

Bucky’s tone soured. “Why am I here? I told you I want nothing to do with this. If you want to chop up bodies for fun, fine, but I want no part of it.”

Tony’s eyes snapped to him in fury. “Uh-Uh. Nobody is touching a hair on that kid’s head until I say so. Not a fucking hair, you hear me?”

Bucky’s eyes widened and he looked to Steve for help. He was obviously missing something here.

“That’s Peter’s body,” Steve explained tiredly. “It recognized Tony at the dump and tried to follow him. They didn’t know what else to do.” *** Peter Parker wasn’t like the other Souls that had invaded the planet. He didn’t just inhabit Peter, he WAS Peter. When he finally finds the one person he’d longed to see for months, he only hopes he can convince him of that.
