A Flower Blooming in the Room
By Yoshihiro Togashi
I translated this 10-page manga that Togashi drew to the "DRILL CAPSULE -DRILL CAPSULE MARKETS-" doujinshi (pp.141-150).
The japanese scans were shared on Weibo by 山是三山岛的三
"DRILL CAPSULE" is a series of doujinshi created and released during 1997-2000, with the participation of famous manga artists such as Nobuyuki Anzai (Flame of Recca).
There are several volumes: "DRILL CAPSULE", "DRILL GUNDAM 00800", "DRILL CAPSULE 2", "SHADOW FLAME", "SHADOW FLAME 2", "DRILL KENSHIN", and "DRILL×HUNTER". They can be roughly divided into two categories according to the content: "free play by the author" and "secondary creation using another work as motif".
Togashi participates in the first volume (1997) with a "free play", an original and super beautiful story.
Hana is a flower that blooms and grows in the emotionless room of Tatsuya Oshii. They spend time together and everything seems fine, until...

It's so sad and beautiful! Now that Tatsuya is happy, she eventually withered. She doesn't want to bloom again. She doesn't want to grow in his room without emotions anymore.
Her last message to him was entirely written in katakana. She probably can't read or write japanese (hiragana and kanji) very well. That's why she said she had a poor handwriting, and couldn't help him copy his notes.
The last panel is touching, the seedling that sprouted from her body ended up becoming wonderful flowers. I bet she's satisfied with Tatsuya's smile. The new her is now blooming in a room full of happiness :)
The scene Hana and Tatsuya are playing video game is exactly the same scene of Genkai and Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho.
In the Table of Contents, Togashi starts commenting that he drew a manuscript of 17 pages. But, he was joking, and the story ended up with only 10 pages (lol).
"I did it, I drew the 17-page manuscript in one week. I haven't actually drawn it yet, but if I say it beforehand, I definitely will. Perhaps…" (Yoshihiro Togashi)
In this book, there's also an illustration of Mukuro made by Nobuyuki Anzai (Flame of Recca)
If you're interest in others Togashi's doujinshi, please also read the crossover he drew of Akira VS Pikachu (1997). There's also the Togashi Empire Doujinshi (1999) he wrote with Naoko Takeuchi.

send me 💬, and i’ll use a line from a sentence meme i’ve reblogged to make a starter. @goesblind.
❛ dangerous to be out so late. ❜ the words cut the air, hiemal crisp of winter cleaved by a sharp and silver tongue. it is not quite a snowfall that graces them at cainhurst castle at present but the bite of frost is seen to glimmer upon every surface and the nobles' attire has shifted from laces and silks to furs and velvets. hearth fires surely crackle and spit inside the castle walls, yet elizabeth has not always played well at the behest of expectations nor pleasantries. joining the chattering crowds bequeathes her little fascination : the same idle small talk, conversation superficial at best given how often hands are changed and new faces are acquainted. the scholars that have joined their midst are interesting, she's sure, but she will glean little from them so early into their envoy. with time, she hopes to leach knowledge from them like sap from a tree. knowledge is power.
for now, she is content to approach the one failing ( or refusing ? ) to conform to those aforementioned fireside rambles, subtly excused from the group to ( she presumes ) reap some fresh air. above them, the moon gleams brightly in an opalescent sky. it is full, pregnant with light. she envies it. caught for a brief moment enraptured with that all - encompassing lunar presence, she permits but a harshening of her jawline for a moment before resuming her train of thought. she wonders, does the moon enthrall you as deeply as it does i ? could kinship be possibly found in these outsiders welcomed into their not so humble abode ?
❛ the castle grounds can be home to some . . . unsavoury guests at this hour. ❜ she is all teasing and allure, a half - crescent curling her rouged lips in an effort to coax some level of camaraderie. really, her curiosity lies in his being here — both in the literal sense of the outdoors, escaping the slowly livening murmurs of regals and academics excitably discussing, but also what his role is in this delegation. what motivates, excites, intrigues. show thou heart unto me. ❛ we wouldn't want you getting lost so early into your stay. ❜ the countess stands adjacent to him now, taking in his taller stature with a tilt of the head. an unspoken question mark. a tinge of hope. of opportunity.

"Yarrow is a symbol for being brave, courageous and saying I love you in spite of everything"... now that last meaning is it from Valtor to Bloom or what he wishes she'll come to say to him?
First of all, kudos to you for getting the exact part I wanted y'all to see! Secondly, I actually didn't pick these symbols to stand for like, secret messages to pass between characters. Valtor didn't plant them, and I seriously doubt he’d knew what symbolism they’d have, be it on Earth or in the MD. This is more of a non-diegetic easter egg for readers, a visual nudge towards the themes of the chapter and the things that pass unspoken.
For the ones who didn't check it out yet, I've compiled them here!
That one is pretty straight forward. Abundant power, the end of winter, rebirth and growth, just as Domino starts melting a little... Bunch of good things ahead!
((((((foreshadowing intensifies))))) also I really liked the achilles connection, who was completely indestructible and only had a single place where he was vulnerable. The obvious interpretation would be that this means Valtor, who had thought himself in complete control of the situation until Brandon called his bluff, and I like that! But I also think it could fit Bloom, who played herself up as this divine, all-powerful warrior in order to seem useful, only to be revealed as completely powerless in the moment.
Yeah no I have no idea who this could possibly address, truly a mystery

Me and my mother have really gotten into windowsill gardening this year - mostly because of the ever rising cost of food. But I also planted something that’s special to me for another reason. These three were red geranium seeds that I planted exactly one month ago. The photo on the left is from before my trip, and on the right it’s after the trip - just a bit over a week later. I planted three seeds just because I wasn’t sure if they’d all sprout, but they did. The small one was unlucky and had some trouble. I wasn’t sure if it would survive (which made me realize how fitting it is that three of them sprouted), but after some support it’s still growing - even if slowly.
They’ve all come a long way from this:
