Why Gemini is Better than ChatGpt?
Gemini's Advantages Over ChatGPT
Both Gemini and ChatGPT are sophisticated AI models made to communicate with people like a human and help with a variety of tasks. But in some situations, Gemini stands out as a more sophisticated and adaptable option because to a number of characteristics it offers:

1. Multimodal Proficiency Gemini provides smooth multimodal interaction, enabling users to communicate with speech, text, and image inputs. Gemini is therefore well-suited for visually complex queries or situations where integrating media enhances comprehension since it can comprehend and produce answers that incorporate many forms of content.
2. Improved comprehension of context Geminis are better at comprehending and remembering context in lengthier interactions. It can manage intricate conversations, providing more precise and tailored answers without losing sight of previous debate points.
3. Original Work From excellent writing to eye-catching graphics and artistic representations, Gemini is a master at producing unique content. It is a favored option for projects demanding innovation due to its exceptional capacity to produce distinctive products.
4. Knowledge and Updates in Real Time In contrast to ChatGPT, which uses a static knowledge base that is updated on a regular basis, Gemini uses more dynamic learning techniques to make sure it stays current with data trends and recent events.
5. Customization and User-Friendly Interface With Gemini's improved customization options and more user-friendly interface, users can adjust replies, tone, and style to suit their own requirements. This flexibility is especially helpful for professionals and companies trying to keep their branding consistent.
6. More Comprehensive Integration Gemini is very flexible for both personal and commercial use because it integrates more easily into third-party tools, workflows, and apps because to its native support for a variety of platforms and APIs.
7. Improved Security and Privacy Users can feel secure knowing that their data is protected during interactions thanks to Gemini's emphasis on user data privacy, which includes greater encryption and adherence to international standards.

Hmm. I just noticed something odd: It seems like DuckDuckGo is utilizing AI Summaries for web results, and they don't allow you to turn this off.

In their "AI Features" settings tab, you can only toggle their AI Chat and their AI Quick Answers that occasionally pop up. There is ZERO mention of this feature, despite it being pretty clear (to me anyway) that they're using some type of neural computing to create those result summaries. (Hence the difference in descriptions for the #1 result with and without "fuck" added.)
Maybe something else is going on that I'm not aware of or don't understand, but it's certainly a disappointing amount of non-transparency from DuckDuckGo when they're trying to build a privacy-focused and trustworthy brand identity.

CEO Aravind Srinivas said this week on the TBPN podcast that one reason Perplexity is building its own browser is to collect data on everything users do outside of its own app. This so it can sell premium ads. “That’s kind of one of the other reasons we wanted to build a browser, is we want to get data even outside the app to better understand you,” Srinivas said. “Because some of the prompts that people do in these AIs is purely work-related. It’s not like that’s personal.”
Jesus Fucking Christ. A browser that spies on you and phones home even when you're not using it. What a nightmare.
Perplexity: another AI crapware product to avoid.

Okay, look, they talk to a Google rep in some of the video clips, but I give it a pass because this FREE course is a good baseline for personal internet safety that so many people just do not seem to have anymore. It's done in short video clip and article format (the videos average about a minute and a half). This is some super basic stuff like "What is PII and why you shouldn't put it on your twitter" and "what is a phishing scam?" Or "what is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS and why do you care?"
It's worrying to me how many people I meet or see online who just do not know even these absolute basic things, who are at constant risk of being scammed or hacked and losing everything. People who barely know how to turn their own computers on because corporations have made everything a proprietary app or exclusive hardware option that you must pay constant fees just to use. Especially young, somewhat isolated people who have never known a different world and don't realize they are being conditioned to be metaphorical prey animals in the digital landscape.
Anyway, this isn't the best internet safety course but it's free and easy to access. Gotta start somewhere.
Here's another short, easy, free online course about personal cyber security (GCFGlobal.org Introduction to Internet Safety)

from: the state of personal online security and confidentiality via
It feels like the problem she's talking about here are similar to how Microsoft tried to push recording your computer activity for ai analysis as a default not too long ago with their recall feature.
The fact that most people are willing to trade away privacy and security for convenience might seem like just a silly thing, but if that attitude starts getting treated like the default it could become increasingly annoying to avoid making that trade off.
I could see a future where having an ai assistant with access to all of your data is as necessary as having a smart phone is today. You'll be able to get by without one if you really have to; but you'll regularly interact with systems that take it as a given that everyone has one, and which just don't function properly, or maybe not even at all, if you don't.

Our six priorities for digital rights
Open Rights Group is calling on the next government to focus on the following six priorities for digital rights:
1. Protect our right to send secure messages
Everyone – including children and young people – should have the right to use end-to-end encryption to ensure that our communications are safe, secure and private. The next government should protect not undermine encryption.
2. Provide migrants with digital sanctuary
Migrants, refugees and asylum seekers need the same data and privacy rights as everyone else so that they can keep their digital identity and information safe. The next government should commit to ending the digital hostile environment.
3. Ban the use of pre-crime AI by the police
Predictive policing systems that use artificial intelligence (AI) to ‘predict’ criminal behaviour undermine our right to be presumed innocent and exacerbate discrimination and inequality in our criminal justice system. The next government should ban dangerous uses of AI in policing.
4. Defend our right to freedom of expression online
Freedom of expression online is being undermined by age verification, content takedowns, social media censorship and unfair copyright claims. The next government should commit to protecting our right to freedom of expression online.
5. Strengthen our data protection rights
We need strong data protection laws to make sure that governments and companies do not use our data to track, surveil and profit from us. The next government should strengthen our data protection rights and make sure that the data protection watchdog is fit for purpose.
6. End intrusive tracking by online advertisers
Advertising companies track our internet use to build detailed profiles so they can target us with adverts. The next government should restrict intrusive tracking by data brokers and online advertisers.

In case anyone was wondering how adult sites are dealing with some states in the US trying to force websites with "sensitive material" to verify the age of every single fucking visitor, many have started either forcing users to sign up for an account and show a picture of their ID or, if they don't have the pull or staff for that, fucking using AI to check webcam footage of your face and having it guess your age.
No I'm not joking. We live in hell.
#☠️#This was always the fucking logical end result of 'using a program to replace a workforce'#+ 'forcing organizations and companies to take on insane workloads in an act of security theater'#+ 'we no longer pretend to care about the average person's privacy; companies are entitled to it more than you.'#The patented AI algorithm is entitled to more privacy than I am.

For some reason, having DAITA turned on absolutely nukes my entire internet service.
And I don't just mean on the device I have it turned on for. I have DAITA turned on for my phone, since I do most of my social media browsing on it, but anytime my phone is connected to our home WiFi, every other device connected to it gets bogged down too. I have no idea why this is. I don't even have a remote clue.
