MTMTE / LL Bot X Reader Drabbles – Funeral

A/N – Hey, this was a long time coming, so I hope you’ve had many good days in the time you have waited for this.

RUNG

Rung thought he knew what heartbreak was.

He has been around for a long, long Yet, he never felt old until now.

He has seen friends come and go. The deaths of so many people he knew, but he wasn’t close to any of them, or rather, not as close as he could have been.

He never lost an Amica Endurae, or worse… a Conjunx, until now.

So many of his therapy sessions revolved around him comforting other bots through the worst losses imaginable. He has seen this before, known what it looks like, and felt the related compassion, but to go through it himself? Nothing can compare to this feeling of emptiness.

You were a medic. You followed the rules. You really believed it when you said: “Do no harm.”

Rung had seen you do commendable things. You even had to be dragged from a DJD bot once because you refused to distinguish between any bot that needed medical care.

It was Ratchet who had dragged you away, knowing that you were wrong and that the bot wouldn’t be thankful for your help; he would have killed everyone around him as soon as you brought him back online.

You had cried for weeks after that, letting Rung comfort you over the loss of a prospective patient.

For you to die when you weren’t even fighting- For another bot to murder you while you were trying to resuscitate a fallen friend- It was unspeakable.

Rung removed his glasses and pinched the bridge of his olfactory sensor, overcome by grief and tears.

He vented a few puffs of air through his systems and tried to compose himself, surprised when he felt a servo resting gently on his back.

He looked up to Drift, who nodded grimly at him, eyes alight with understanding.

Rung nodded back, replaced his glasses and stood up.

He would cry as soon as this was over, but first, he had to give a eulogy in your name as was his duty. It was the hardest thing he had ever had to do.

RODIMUS

“You know kid, it’s okay to- Hell, to anything! Scream, cry, break something. Please!” Hound begs. He wishes that he wasn’t the one who had to tell Rodimus but he was there when you… When Rodimus’ Conjunx Endurae died.

Upon hearing it, Rodimus didn’t say anything. He sat down against the wall and looked to the floor. It’s like he hasn’t heard a word that Hound said, but Hound knows he did. Whether he’s processing it is another matter.

“Rodimus, I-”

“How did it happen?” Rodimus asks quietly, clutching at his knees hard enough to make dents.

Hound likes telling stories. He likes to tell bots what it’s like on Earth, about the best places he’s visited, hell, he even enjoys regaling the crew with his best fights, but this? The story of your death? He doesn’t want to recount it. It’s too painful for Rodimus to hear.

Instead, he shakes his head, “I don’t think-”

Rodimus shoots up, enraged and shouting, “HOW DID IT HAPPEN?! TELL ME. HOW DID-” His voice breaks as the coolant starts pouring from his optics, “How did (Y/N)- Why did it have to be (Y/N)? Why? WHY?”

Rodimus is being irrational. They both know it, but Rodimus is hurting too much to be reasonable, and Hound isn’t going to argue.

Hound hugs Rodimus, feeling awful for the young bot. He doesn’t exactly answer the full truth of what the DJD did to you for getting in the way of their mission, albeit accidentally since you didn’t know who the bot you were treating was, let alone that he was on the DJD’s list. Yet, without answering the full question, Hound gives a half-truth. “I couldn’t provide enough cover fire.”

That much was true, but Hound wasn’t the only bot with you. It had been Drift to call a tactical retreat, and by the time everyone had looked back, you weren’t with them. You had stayed with your patient, till the very end.

They went back for you, of course they did, but they needed backup and their communications with the Lost Light had gone down over a cycle prior.

When they found your body… Hound felt sick at the memory. Sufficed to say, there wasn’t much left to find.

“I’m sorry, kid,” Hound says, and he repeats the words over and over as Rodimus clings to him. Rodimus is also stuck on his mantra. “It should have been me. (Y/N) was too good. It should have been me.”

By the time your funeral rolls around, Rodimus is a disgrace. He doesn’t attend the funeral. He hates such events. Instead, he sits alone in his room, crying. Some people come by to try and coax him out, but he ignores them all.

He can’t bear to be around anyone.

Now, after the funeral, he hates himself. All he keeps thinking is that he should have gone. He should have been there, and now it’s too late.

WHIRL

When Whirl is told about your death, there are bots on standby, waiting for the inevitable rampage.

Sure enough, it happens but at first, they leave him to it, seeing as Whirl is only destroying the furniture and given the circumstances, that’s reasonable.

Then, Whirl devolves into a shoot-the-messenger mindset, running at Rodimus with a knife he’d concealed in one of his subspaces.

Rodimus does little to defend himself. Frankly, he’s also in shock by your loss, and losing any crew member, especially one as sweet and kind as you takes a heavy toll on him.

But, that’s what the other crewmembers were for, and even though Rodimus never called for backup, they ran to defend him.

It takes Whirl a very long time to calm down, and he only does so because there’s nothing to destroy in the brig.

Whirl feels like shit. On the last day that he saw you alive, the two of you had been in an argument which he had started.

And even though he had been a complete aft, you still put your arm on his shoulder-plate to try and apologise, even though the argument hadn’t been your fault. Then Whirl shrugged you off and told you to join the slag heap.

He’d felt you sigh at that, but you somehow managed to put up with it. You told him you loved him, and to take care of himself, and- and that you’d be back soon.

Whirl can’t apologise for the things he said. Worse, he hadn’t even meant them.

The only reason he’d picked that stupid fight with you was because he was terrified of losing you.

That morning, you had brought up the subject of performing the Conjunx rites with him, and Whirl had this feeling of dread. Dread that you would be trapped with him, and by extension that he wasn’t good enough for you.

So, Whirl did what he always did. He fucked everything up and tried to push you away, even though he always wanted to be with him.

Then you had gone to work and- ARGH! Whirl didn’t want to think about how you died. You were gone and there was no bringing you back!

Still, that’s all Whirl can think about. He spends the next few cycles alone, stuck replaying the stupid argument in his head and wishing he was dead.

When Ultra Magnus has security cautiously let Whirl out, Whirl doesn’t bother to fight.

There’s no point.

Besides, he won’t do anything to jeopardise attending your funeral. It’s all he can do to make it up to you.

So, when the day of the funeral arrives, Whirl makes a speech, and for once, everybody listens to him. No hatred or derision, only sorrow.

Whirl speaks about your character, strength, and how in a perfect world, this wouldn’t have happened. He lists your greatest medical achievements, brings up your proudest moments, and shares some of his private memories of you.

Ultimately, Whirl gives the perfect eulogy. He had to. He owed you that much. It’s the only way he can think to apologise to you.

Lurkers friendly reminder to change your pfp and banner from the default ones you get after making a tumblr account, doesn't have to be anything fancy just anything but the silly shapes that tumblr gives everyone ^_^ it helps distinguish you from bots (even more if your blog is empty from only liking posts). once again, a reminder and a SUPPLICATION to make your tumblr profile look somewhat like a human person is behind it if you plan on following people. even if you want to lurk and not post anything, just get a pfp, set a blog title, write a small bio SOMETHING that distinguishes you from a bot or spam account. otherwise all i see is an empty, blank blog with maaaybe some likes and some accounts followed, which could easily be a spam account attempting to pass as a real one. and my instinct is to block and report those accounts. Do these things before liking/reblogging/following and you won't get mistaken for a bot.

Even if you want to be more of a lurker and not actively participate in fandom culture, you should do these things so that you can be distinguishable from bots, so that tumblr itself can go about fixing the bot problem we so badly deal with

Out of curiousity, what were your thoughts on Rescue Bots? I can’t speak for RBA, but I feel like Rescue Bots has been better written and more consistent in writing/characterisation than most TF shows. Earthspark seemed to he going in the right direction but fell flat comparison/tried to do much too quickly/zigzag between ‘made for kids’ and ‘dark and gritty’

I can't say much about Rescue Bots either because I don't watch it. However, judging from some snippets I've seen and this fanfic series (I highly recommend it if you want a Dreadwing lives!AU), RB handled itself much better than Earthspark because they know the limits of their premise. ES doesn't seem to properly explore their own premise, forces 'mature' themes into its story until it strays from its main theme.

Long elaborations ahead. I didn't expect to type this much...

Like most existing shows, the Rescue Bots are a group of Cybertronians who landed on Earth. What differentiates them from the usual premise is that they're a neutral party. The story is set on an isolated island and community, naturally sparing it from the grittiness of TF Prime. If 'fitting in' was a recurring theme at one point, I doubt they have much to worry about because locals of the island know Cybertronians as helpful aliens doing their service, not murder machines who hate humanity and Earth. The war was kept well hidden from humanity, too.

ES has a great premise already. A new subspecies of Transformers born on Earth and into a recently post-war era gets adopted by a human family.

However I hardly see anything about family bonding, let alone proper family dynamics. It's like the writers had this one dimensional view of how a good family works and tries to pass it of as relatable.

Sometimes it also had this odd feeling of "You must do [insert serious subject] like this and only like this. Shame on you if you do it other ways." It's as if they don't allow the audience to decide for themselves and it'll give off the wrong impression. Kids who do catch it will likely get annoyed.

Judging from ES's premise, I thought the main goal of the story was the Terrans finding their place on Earth as a new native race; the main obstacle being the aftereffects of war with Cybertronians disrupting the Terrans understandings about themselves meanwhile Mandroid represents humanity's scars caused by Cybertronians. It sounds mature enough for kids to understand, like "Avatar" cartoons and "His Dark Materials" books.

Except the show doesn't make an effort for their mature topics to feel serious. They plopped them out of the blue, resolved it in a weird way or forgotten about it, and called it a day. There's no eventuality or continuations. It's forgetful. "Power of Family" later changed to "Power of the Chosen Ones". Every member of the family agrees to everything each other does with no real trouble. So much for "finding what it means to be family", huh?

TLDR; Rescue Bots had better writing because the story explored the entirety of its limited premise meanwhile EarthSpark has potentials with its premise but their lack of logic, exploration and respect to their own lore and main cast messes up the story delivery and message, especially regarding topics that resonate in real life.

Edit: Most importantly, RB treats their main characters as main characters. A non-viewer like me can distinguish who's who. The police car, the helicopter, the firetruck who looks done with everything, the chief and his son. ES kept discarding the Terrans & Maltos that viewers care more about side characters who already had their limelight elsewhere. I'm neutral about the Terrans because of how they appear as arrogant and obnoxious newbies, not overconfident and naive youngsters.

Bored at work!

Anyways here's a methodology I made for identifying different alters composition and identity.

I really like making complex systems for fun! Watch out.

So, the joke is that I've reinvented the four humors. I have four base elements(?) that are very distinguished in my brain, and I use those as the base. Each of these is not an alter, but rather core parts of the whole. And the parts are: Puppy, Shark, Bug, Bot. Note that these are my personal definitions - for example bot is a very emotional presence, not cold and calculating.

If you wanna adapt this for your own use, I wouldn't recommend using the same base4 that I have, obv.

Okay! So, using the base4, you can make a lot of charts- you have your typical XY chart, with the Y axis being puppy vs bot, and the X being shark vs bug. Then, you can make a triangle chart, with each corner being 3 of the elements, giving you 4 of these charts. Then, you have dichotomies - bug vs bot, and these are simple 0-10 style charts, just placing a point on the line.

So, for each of these charts, the represent a part of identity. So, for example, shark and puppy are both heavily into physicality, like sport and play. So their dichotomy is in regards to physicality, and then the closer you are to puppy, the more the physicality is done purely for enjoyment, whereas when you get more into shark, the more it is done as a way to exercise competence, to do it for competition, ect.

So, you have different parts of your identity - what you enjoy about physicality, how do you feel about authority, ect. However, I also want to be able to express how important each dichotomy is to the alter. For example, some of us just simply don't seek out sports or anything like that.

So, for each chart, those are in turn placed onto a 0-10 scale. This scale is the final product.

So, using birdie as an example, she really isn't looking to move around a ton, play sports, ect. However, in terms of physicality, she absolutely is someone who does it for enjoyment, and is very against competition. So, the puppy-shark dichotomy would be put very low on her scale, and be placed strongly towards the puppy end.

So we look at the line second from bottom, treating each dichotomy as being on a 10-point scale. We see that she is 3 points towards puppy over shark, and the dichotomy itself is ranked at a 1.5/10 for importance to her identity. Inversely, the puppy-bug dichotomy (reactions to receiving care) is very central to her identity, but she is fairly symmetrically placed in it, favouring puppy by 1 point.

Hello Tumblr

Well, I am one year old.

After watching Dragon Ball Super SuperHero and letting my curiosity lead me to this place known as Tumblr last year, I can say it has been a fun and inviting experience to be on this platform. I've never had this kind of interactive and social outlet ever in my life. My creativity and ideas developed or were expressed in ways I never thought I was capable of doing; my discovery of all these talented artists, writers, opinions, everything I find on Tumblr has me feeling excited, attentive, and more curious each time I'm online. And all the support, likes, reblogs, and comments from all you wonderful people just make it worthwhile. It truly has been a blast of a year to be on here. : )

So that's why it saddens me that I will be inactive following the new year of 2024. : (

I've been considering this course of action for a while, and I've fully decided to go through with this.

Allow me to explain: The bottom line is stuff has come up. I don't feel comfortable to specifically state what that 'stuff' is, but I can assure you all that it's nothing life-threatening or life-shattering. Situations have arisen for me, and honestly, they're the kind of problems that I could ignore and still be fine. But that way of responding just doesn't sit well with me. I have to deal with them, so the issues won't build up over time and bite me back in the future. Unfortunately, that requires of me to cut my time here.

I wish to say that I'll return and resume my activity, but even I can't guarantee that. My process, if you will, will be of me accomplishing each obstacle, but once done, they'll lead to more handling of their consequences, both positive and negative. Coming back here: I just don't know.

But in case I don't return, I want to say something: When I started my account I had no intention of making posts or interacting with anyone. I just wanted to see what you guys were writing/making about Dragon Ball (The K18 material, TBH), like it, and have some asks of my own. But thanks to the suggestions and informative answers from @fantasyrecolors / @thefantasylife (you're the best), I put more effort into distinguishing myself from a bot to an actual person.

I figured I would repost stuff I liked and write the occasional, original post about anything on my mind, never having ambitions of being popular or affecting the Dragon Ball Tumblr community. But when I posted my Android 18 Not You Meme, you guys liked it and that just made me feel so appreciated. It was just an idea I had which I wanted to put out there. That inspired me to be more involved in this Dragon Ball Community. You see, I'm a dork, but I've always been one solo. I never had anyone to ask their opinions or say to them I enjoy their fan-work about a property we both enjoy, and vice versa. But as I continued to settle and develop my blog, I just kept finding so many incredible individuals here with their fabulous art, engaging stories, intriguing takes, and hilarious jokes. And these people/you guys took time to see and support what I brought to the table. Even beyond the Dragon Ball series. I felt inspired and motivated by that to keep doing what I could to support and join this rad community.

I won't delete my account. I love this blog too much to see it all gone in a flash, the same unfortunate fate to fellow comrade Certified Krillin Stan. I'll just leave my blog here and step back from the Tumblr website; the most I'll do is just view (rarely) what's new. There may be a chance I could fully return when DB Daima rolls around, but no guarantees. I hope how I continue in my future will lead me back here to keep supporting this section of the DB community and any other cools guys I see here; possibly return with more resources/skills to do more for this group and my account than I could do now. Been looking for Twitter alternatives, and other social media sites in general. I'm on the waitlist for Bluesky. No idea when I'll see that, and I haven't heard much about it either. I signed up for CuriousCat for funsies, but I don't think it's what I was looking for. I likely won't use it much. Now on to the juicy stuff.

Last night I signed up for Threads and I already don't like it. Right now, there are zero ways to control your dashboard. Or much of anything, really. Just the basic functions of Instagram, but with words. I'll see one or two posts from people I follow before an endless stream of thoughts from people I don't know or care about. Seeing the 4,508,877th member badge on my Insta page, as it relates to Threads, just hammers home how we're all just pieces of data to get swallowed up by the conglomerate. Not even bothering to hide the fact that it's all a numbers game. The app itself is clunky, lacking soul and personality. It's so boring to look at. A lifeless machine, and all 30+ million users and growing are the franticly spinning cogs.

I've signed up for Pilowfort a little while ago and I like it so far. Its closer to Tumblr. Given that Tumblr is always on the brink of disappearing, it wouldn't hurt to have a back-up. There are posts for everyone to see that live on your blog, but there are also individual communities that act as forums. Posts can have individual comment sections, which I guess helps keep things on-topic. I'm going to slowly transition to cross-posting both old and new posts there. It seems promising, and the interactions I've had with other users thus far have been pleasant. I've already seen a few guides and helpful tips for the internet refugees.

Then there's Spoutible. It was touted as black-owned, having no algorithm, and having mods that handled hate speech and bigots swiftly and appropriately. Those are some green flags. They also have a cute little whale mascot, so all that combined had me. It is the closest to a Twitter clone I've come across so far. The interface is easy to understand and navigate. Posts are limited to 300 characters, and can include pictures, gifs, videos, and polls. There are a lot of safety measures for you to customize your experience to avoid malicious accounts. One being a rating system ranging from Normal to Problematic to help distinguish normies from bots. To post something is to "Spout Off." The trending topics page is titled "Making Waves." I like the vibes, and I believe this app has a lot of promise.

The truth is I've been kind of ambivalent to Twitter, even years before the Elon fiasco. When I first joined, it was for following my middle school and high school friends. After I graduated, those relationships fell off one by one. My dashboard morphed into a cascade of influencer updates and artist promotions. All I could offer was superficial consumption and meaningless life updates. Posting became a competition of who could be the funniest or who had the hottest take, and your whole psyche takes a hit when you just can't hack it. Maybe a restart was inevitable, and necessary for all of our sakes. I'll be taking Twitter off of my Linktree and other socials for the time being, and I don't see the point in linking any of these new socials until I've had enough time to play with them and figure things out.

TLDR: I'm not a tech genius. I simply operate on vibes. Bluesky is mysterious, more data needed. Threads is bloated and leans heavily on the algorithm. Pillowfort is a nice comfy space, just need to get used to it. Spoutible has potential and immaculate vibes.

Hey, quick question, when you say no more botting, do you just mean no more automated fraud (like running scripts), or do you mean no more making or using any extra accounts to vote in polls at all ever? Also, how are you going to enforce future accusations of fraud given that you aren't planning on doing these run-offs apparently? Just vibes?

Well firstly, obviously there’s no possible way to distinguish bots or spam from real votes.

However, I can only hope that anyone who cares about the competition’s outcome will heed my wishes as its creator and manager, to not sway it with cheats that not everyone can do. To answer the question, running scripts or making/buying bots is big no-no; making extra accounts is frowned upon but that honestly has become an integral part of ‘tumblr bracket culture’, and you can only make so many of those, while automated bots can just run forever without anyone lifting a finger.

The question of what will be done with anything like this in the future will have to be answered when we’re forced to cross that bridge. It depends greatly on the circumstances, and I have a hard time believing that 15,641 is ever gonna be repeated.

You post like a real person so I want you to know: there are a lot of bot accounts on Tumblr so you might want to do a couple things to distinguish yourself from them:

Your bio (you've already done this. Nice one)

Your profile pic. It generally isn't a picture of you irl. Lots of people make it a character they like or art they've made (like mine). Or it can be a random meme or picture of an animal. Anything, really, just to make it not the default icon.

Your banner. The wide image behind your icon is by default a procedurally generated pattern, but it can be lots of things! At one point I made mine fanart from a game I love, but lots of people make it memes, pictures they've taken, or whatever else.

A lot of users (like myself) go through their follower notifications to purge bots, and these things will help you pass inspection and avoid being blocked by well-meaning blogs. Sorry if this feels accusatory, I just had to learn this the hard way lol.

Hi vyn, I have missed the notification for your ask and only noticed it now. Sorry about that!

I'm afraid I don't have the time to throroughly help you but you should check @thefoxburyinstitute's tutorials (there may be something to point you into right direction). Also, I'm not super confident as a clothes creator (all my meshes have required a lot of trial and error 😅) so you might be better off asking someone else anyway. And when it comes to editing other people's content, as long as you aren't going to share it I think you should be allowed to make alterations :)

And you should definitely get a profile picture and give your blog a title and maybe some description ("I'm a lurker simmer, don't block me!", for example :D). It doesn't need to be anything fancy, just something to distinguish you from bots ;) I'm not going to block you (I'm a lazy blocker anyway) but others might.

I know this is suppose dto be fluffy but did anyone else with one or more siblings growing up feel really pressured to play into the whole “they're complete opposites!” thing?

Like, combination of a “desperate desire to distinguish yourself from your sibling,” and “reduce direct competition/comparison/jealousy by not liking similar things,” and “familial role to play,” etc?

Esp when one sibling seems more obviously gifted at a particular thing and gets praise for it so the other dosent wanna try, or else one sibling gets in trouble for something a lot so the other distances themselves from that behavior.

And then as you grow up and become more secure and independent you start to discover “huh, were really not so opposite as we thought” cause you allow yourself to do stuff that was more your siblings thing without fear of “breaking character”?

Cause my brother and I definitely did and I can only imagine its more pronounced in identical twins like with the Pines brothers.

ANYWAY, the Pines Brothers finally discovering, thirty years later, they aren’t actually opposites, and don’t have to be.

Stan and Ford realzing that there is no “smart one” between the two of them and theyre both actually really capable. Being able to put to bed thier needs to prove themselves and compete for thier parents favor.

Stan and Ford realizing they’re BOTH reckless, impulsive “screwups” with extensive criminal records and that STAN might actually be teh common sense in many scenerios. Bonding over distain for the law and a whole lot of sketchy ex-s.

I really don't know much about what to think regarding the war except I don't like it. It started because of violence on one side and is continued by violence by the other. Uninvolved people have been hurt and people killed when they had nothing to do with the attacks. Many people have come to ask for help, but they're very hard to distinguish from scammers because there are people who take advantage of their situation and fake a donation account. It is so unfair because the people who need help can't get it because it' going to scammers and people no longer trust them. I have to check every inch and cranny of an account to make sure I'm not sharing a scam to people. I don't know for sure if this is real or not, so please if you're considering donating, check it yourself and make sure you feel right about it. I was very hesitant to repost anything regarding this matter because I'm not exactly pro anybody, just a highschooler who wanta people to get along, but I also don't want to ignore people in their time of need when I can at least do this.
