Lucifers art commission topic:
Consider, Alastor thinks it’s a commission for a regular portrait and offers to sit as reference but it gets increasingly awkward as Lucifer keeps getting him to alter his pose, like an evil game of twister. With some added evil “draw me like one of your french girls” the malicious aura emanating from the room would be incredible
Worse: it was such a pain in the ass Lucifer adds it to Vox’s invoice
(reference to this ask you need to read it please read it if you don't know the context you NEED the context REALLY YOU DO)
HELP NOOOOOOOOOOO. they both better hope alastor never finds out what it actually was.
btw this entire saga has been a fucking crazy spin on the alastor-lucifer-vox dynamic. can't say I hate it but. it's. SOMETHING LMDFLHKSGSDO

Once we decide on the details, I'll ask for payment via paypal
The final product will be delivered as a digital PNG file which you may do as you please with. Post it, edit it, use it on your website, go nuts! I reserve the right to also post it on my blog for promo purposes.
Complexity charge:
This charge may possibly be added to your order if
The order contains a large volume of detailed instruction
The subject itself is highly detailed
For number one, what this looks like is the difference between these two examples

Example B includes a lot of irrelevant details to sift through, incredibly detailed instruction for the pose, and adds many details to the characters' designs. Also, though I accept all kinds of references, you can see how employing the use of visual references cuts down on wordy explanation. Using written references, especially in prose as part of a fanfic, takes time and extra effort for me to parse through (I often end up having to make a document of my own to trim the fat and track the details). These would be reasons I would charge for complexity.
I recognize that example A relinquishes some control over to me, the artist. In many ways, this could end up better for the final product-- I work best when I have a degree of freedom, and conversely when I'm juggling a bunch of details I have less bandwidth for artistry. Of course there is nothing wrong with wanting more control over the look of the piece, and I am happy to work with you to make an image as close to what you have in mind as possible. But if we start getting into twister territory (right hand blue, left foot red) we start getting into complexity charge territory. The charge is not meant to be a deterrent, only to compensate the extra time it takes to implement a design to such specifications. For number two, I'll give a visual example

Isabella on the left has very simple armor that lends itself to quick sketching (because I'm so sure that's what she had in mind when she dressed herself x'D). By simple I mean: pretty much only one layer, almost entirely made of cloth, almost everything is composed of organic shapes.
Our lich friend on the right however has armor with many geometric shapes, various materials, layers, and complex patterns. His armor is ornamented with extra embellishments. As a general rule, if you request full armor, you can expect a complexity charge.
What I'm good at:
anime style, humans, reference sheets for OCs, nsfw of all kinds and orientations, gore, combat, location/prop design, character design
What I'm not so good at:
mechas, vehicle design, complex creature design, UPA style
Check out my art tag #yappa art for recent examples of my work

Finally, I have compiled a list of songs for my Shinsengumi playlist and I’d like to share it. As usual, I'm using Spotify because it’s easier for sharing and curating public playlists.
There are some overlap choices with the Joui4 playlist, but otherwise, it’s mostly different songs. For the Shinsengumi, I chose songs based on the “fighting spirit,” so to speak, on enduring change – sometimes tough and tragic – and moving forward toward a hopeful future. Some songs speak to various story arcs, invoking characters like Mitsuba and Itou. I also included some that reminded me of Isaburo and Nobume, adding in the Mimawarigumi alongside our thorny men.
There’s a mix of genres, but a lot of hard rock, classic rock, J-rock, with a touch of ambient, post-rock, metal, and prog. I also sprinkled Gintama soundtrack themes throughout with a few notable Gintama OP/ED songs associated with the Shinsengumi and related characters. I tried to place all the songs in order of story arc with some unconnected songs in between. It ended up being a far more upbeat playlist than the Joui one, which I flooded with angsty songs, lol.
Let me explain the selections a bit:
(Before we get into it, here are my other playlists for reference: Joui4, Diamond Perfume, HijiTae, and a Kamui playlist based on a fic I wrote for him.)
We begin with some familiar Shinsengumi anthems along with a couple of song choices that ignite hope and beginnings. Then, we dive right into the Mitsuba arc with her theme and then some songs focused on Hijikata’s love and Sougo’s sorrow. I used Anathema’s “One Last Goodbye” for the Joui4 playlist, too, but for this one, I chose the acoustic version to capture the gentle sorrow of Mitsuba’s passing and Sougo’s feelings (the original version was more akin to the vibe of Joui4).
I thought long and hard about adding in “Impressions II” by Lunatic Soul, and I’m sure some may think I’m cruel for even considering it. But I think it explores grief in a beautifully heart-wrenching way, especially if you’ve been in the room with a loved one about to pass away. I have, and Sougo has, so I kept it in. I didn’t want to shy away from the pain of grief. (Maybe don’t listen to it if you’re highly, emotionally sensitive about the Mitsuba arc.)
Next up: Shinsengumi Crisis arc, beginning with another Gintama soundtrack choice. I then chose songs that invoke Itou’s character, his family history, and his complicated connections with Kondou and Hijikata.
You might be wondering about “Child in Time” by Deep Purple. If you don’t already know, it’s a famous anti-war song by an equally famous band. For this, I thought of Itou (and Isaburo, though his selections occur later), and the wholescale conflict he caused. Gillan’s masterful vocals combined with the rich instrumental make me think of that conflict and Itou’s mental and emotional state. It’s an amazing song. You might also remember it from Twister. Plus, it ties in with Bansai’s words about each character’s songs; he associated Hijikata and Itou with rock and metal, so this suits the chaotic battle in an ironic sense.
“Exit Suite” by Gazpacho wraps up Itou’s story arc. It’s a song I chose as inspiration for my Itou fic.
Next, the Anpan theme! Then some songs that give me Shinsengumi vibes.
Now we’re at the Baragaki arc. I featured “Somewhere I Belong” by Linkin Park in my Tetsu fic. “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” is pretty self-explanatory, and I went with The Hollies’ rock ballad version because I found it suited the Shinsengumi more. I initially wanted “Raize” by Inoran instead because it was also in my Tetsu fic as inspiration, but Spotify doesn’t carry the original version. (Same with LUNA SEA – I had a different song choice, but they don’t have the album there, so I went with “Into the Sun” for Itou’s arc. Several incredible LS songs aren’t even on the app!)
Saitou’s theme! Then Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” for Hijikata as Tosshi and maybe Kondou being head over heels infatuated, lol. I added some songs I featured in other Shinsengumi-centric fics of mine, like “Linda Linda” by The Blue Hearts. Both songs are such classics that I found fit right in with the Shinsengumi and this playlist's vibe.
A little post-rock from Eleventh Vibration to prepare us for the Farewell Shinsengumi arc, which opens with a Gintama soundtrack choice. “Locking Up the Sun” by Poets of the Fall is a song I think nicely encapsulates Kondou’s arrest and threat of execution. Ayden’s “Awaking” to symbolize the Shinsengumi reawakening and preparing to rescue Kondou. Hotei’s “Howling” because of the Shinsengumi’s wolf image (as is consistent with the historical Shinsengumi), plus I just had to have either Hotei and/or his band Boøwy on the list.
Now we’re getting into the Mimawarigumi side of things. I chose High and Mighty Color’s “Dreams” for Nobume and LUNA SEA’s “Be Gone” for the ensuing disarray of the island battle. The bittersweet instrumental at the end of it was also another reason for choosing it as a transition into Isaburo’s section and a nod to Kondou and Hijikata’s emotional reunion. Pineapple Thief’s “God Bless the Child” makes me think of Isaburo’s entire life and his fate in saving Nobume and Tetsu (not to mention the “mark” imagery and Isaburo’s other weapon of choice).
Anathema’s “Wildfires” was used in my Tetsu fic for the end of the island battle and other things, followed by Kamelot’s “Season’s End” for the final goodbye to Isaburo, concluding with a Gintama piano piece. Farewell, email buddy.
Noel Gallagher’s “Fort Knox” represents the Shinsengumi leaving and promising to return. Long Distance Calling’s “Welcome Change” (with two guest vocalists who are also faves of mine, Petter Carlsen and Vincent Cavanagh) speaks to the tough and inevitable change that comes with death, departure, and beginning anew. There’s also a fantastic instrumental in the middle to further drive that point home.
Laugh if you want! But I always think of the Shinsengumi when I hear Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back In Town” when the Shinsengumi return to Edo, stronger and thornier than ever (I know what other word you thought of there).
J’s “Never End” for the legacy of Gintama’s Shinsengumi. It’s hard to find lyrics, though, because of Onose Jun’s stage name of ‘J’ and search engines giving me other artists. Incidentally, J’s LUNA SEA’s bassist and Inoran, who appeared earlier in the playlist, is their rhythm guitarist. Anyway, the song just feels like it belongs.
And, of course, it begins and ends with DOES. Enough said. Bill Wither’s “Lean on Me” is a heartwarming conclusion to the brotherhood of the Shinsengumi, especially for our main boys.
Just kidding -- it TRULY ends with Hijikata’s mayonnaise cooking show theme. 🤪
Hope you find some familiar or new favourites among my selections, and I hope you overall enjoyed listening! I have really eclectic music taste, I know.

How I made little Haarlep

A few days ago I posted about my latest finished crochet project for my good friend @tavyliasin, and I wanted to share how I made them! This is for people who would also like to make a little Haarlep (Raphael, Karlach, or any other character with horns for that matter), those who are curious how I did it, and I just love to yap about my projects. When I started this project I had only been crocheting for about 8 months, and it really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and learn a whole lot. I took the time to explore, experiment, and try again if needed. And man, did I learn from little Haarlep.
Note that this isn't a tutorial; I have made mistakes, oversights, and stumbled against problems. I will try my best to list these here, but if you have any questions about the listed patterns I advise you to head over to the linked etsy store to ask the creator of said pattern. But if you have any questions specifically regarding this project I'll try my best to answer them as best as I can. There are also some parts of little Haarlep where I didn't use a pattern at all, and either freehanded it, or did a load of guesswork.
Now, let's get started!
Used patterns:
Body: Doll base Amigurumi Body Version 3 by TheLoftyLoop
Wings: Kawaii Bat by ZeroGravityCrochet (I have also used this pattern for my Batstarion plushie)
Horns: Horns (3 sizes) by KnottedLovebymima
Used Materials:
Body: Katia Bambi #312 (3x)
Hair: Twister Solid XL Black #105 (1x)
I had bought the yarn for the hair and horns in a local yarn shop, and have thrown away the labels a long time ago. Once I have found them again I will list them here as well.
Polymer stuffing
PLA filament (optional)
Small chains which were part of a jewelry repair kit.
Soft silver RVS rings, 1,5 x 7,0 millimeters
Epoxy Resin (optional)
Gold and orange pigment powder
Gold glitter
Red embroidery thread
Used tools:
Crochet needles (3,0 millimeters and 3,5 millimeters)
Knitting markers
Yarn scissor
Yarn needles
Row counter (optional although it literally saved my life)
3d printer (Optional)
Silicone half circle mold
Pliers (x2)
Cutting pliers
Mini hand drill
Instant glue
Tweezers (optional)
Step-by-step guide:
First, I needed to know what the hells I was getting myself into. For that I have used several references on Haarlep. I have used these as a guidelines for the entirety of the project. The screenshots have been provided by @tavyliasin.

Then, I made a list every single part of the doll I needed to make.
Body
Tail
Wings
Horns
Ears
Eyes
Face
Harness
Hair
The body

For the body I have used the 3,5 millimeter crochet needle because I wanted the stitches to be as tight as I could. I had ignored the advised crochet hook size on the label of the yarn because of this. Although I quickly found out that the yarn itself was too large for this pattern as well, resulting in the doll becoming bigger and longer than I initially expected. But this is not necessarily a mistake because that would mean that there would be more to cuddle!
The head ended up being way too long though, so after I finished the body I folded the part of the head that was too long and stitched it on the back of the head.
The Tail

I didn't use a pattern for the tail, instead I made a magic ring with 6 single crochet stitches, and increased the stitch each time I felt like I should make the tail wider. For this I also used the 3,5 mm needle.
The wings

I used my trusty 3,5mm needle for this part as well. I already had a pattern for a bat plushie, which I had used to make the wings. From there I diverged from the pattern, and created a bigger 'spiral' so to speak by adding 3 more rounds.
If you are using this pattern, I diverged from the guide from row 5:
r5.1: 5dc, inc.
r5.2: 6dc, inc.
r5.3: 6dc, inc.
After that I followed the pattern again, and diverted from it once more to add more single crochet stitches to each 'spike' of the wings, making them more bulky and longer.
The ears

I also didn't follow any pattern for the ears, I just made a triangle of single crochets (again, with my 3,5mm needle), and stitched the points of the ears to one another to make them more pointy and give them more depth. Then I attached them on the side of the head with *only* the base of the triangles. This is because I was going to add the hair and horns later on, and I didn't want the ears to get in the way of them.
The eyes.

I worked with resin before, and still had some. I mixed a small amount of epoxy resin with gold and orange pigment powder, and golden glitters. I poured it in a half circle silicone mold I have with various sizes. After it had cured I tested which size I liked the most for the doll, and used those for the eyes.
Next was the application, glueing the eyes directly on the head would be a surefire way for them to detach in the near future. So at first I tried to use these screw eyes by hanging them over the mold as the resin cured, so I could simply sew them in. But that didn't work as the resin swallowed the entirety of the screw, and the thread I hung them over the mold with. The 'eyes' were still semi-transparent even though I used a lot of pigment, so I could easily see the ends of the screws inside the eyes. So this was a failure.
On my second try I didn't mess with the resin as it cured at all, and used even more pigment powder just to be sure it wouldn't be transparent. This time, I used a small hand-drill to create 2 holes on each side of the half-circle, as close to the edge as I could. Then I drilled another 2 holes on the flat side where the end of the first 2 holes ended, making a little tunnel. I took some tweezers and stuffed and pulled the thread through the tunnels until I could pull it through. I tied them on each end, and superglued the knots for extra security.
Once everything was dry I sew the eyes directly on the spots I wanted them to be. But I wasn't too happy with the result, in all honesty...

... So I gave Haarlep some eyelids. Sure, they still look quite bug-eyed, but I decided to trust the process.
The horns (and a nose!)

I had completely forgotten to photograph any of my progress from when I was done with the eyes t'ill the horns were already finished. I had also decided to give Haarlep a little nose (which I made out of a magic circle with 10 single crochets, 2 rows of increases, and 3 rows of decreases).
In the original pattern there are 3 sizes available, and I used size 1 and 2 for the horns on this doll. The yarn I used for this was quite thin, but I made the mistake to use the 3,5 mm needle *again*. Which is why I could see directly through all the stitches, and see all the polymer filling within. I admit that the horns were about my least favourite part of this project, and I was struggling to get through them (no hate to the creator of the pattern at all, as it was a very well-written pattern! I just didn't enjoy making these because of some Morb-problems). So I was not ready to do it all over again. Instead, I noticed I had a lot of yarn I used for the horns left, so I used that as filling so the large holes in each stitch wouldn't be noticeable.
The Hair

Again, I forgot to take any pictures of this process, so I'll have to write down what I did. I used the Twister solid XL yarn for this.
First I gave Haarlep a much-needed hairline to map out where I wanted his hairdo to start and finish. For each 'strand' of hair I repeated one of 2 processes whether I wanted it to curl or not.
(fun fact, the 'curly' hairs are based on a very simple pattern a friend of mine created to make toys for her cat!)
Curls:
Chain (make it as long as you want depending on how long you want it to be, but for this project I used in between 8-15 chains per strand), single crochet in the 2nd chain stitch from the end of your chain. 3 single crochets in every chain (I did this for about 3-6 chain stitches). Than I did a bunch of single crochets in every chain until I reached the end of the chain. Then I put another single crochet in the 2nd chain, and put 1 single crochet per chain stitch until you reach the end, tie and cut your yarn on both ends. I kept about 15-20 centimeters of yarn on the end that's the furthest away from the curl so I could use that to sew the strand of hair directly onto the head.
You can also put 2 single crochets per chain, or more than 3 depending on how curly you want your strand of hair to be.
Straight strand:
Follow the same steps as the curls, but just keep adding single crochets per chain stitch after you've made your chain, and repeat this twice.
I then worked in layers when attaching each strand of hair onto the head, I added one or two rows of "hair" starting from the neckline. Once I sew in those strands I sew about 3-5 centimeters of hair directly onto the head (the point that's the furthest away from the curl/the part of the strand that's attached to the head). This is so if the hair on the doll moves it wouldn't go out of place, and you wouldn't see any bald spots. This way I also wouldn't have to make countless of strands and add too much hair.
I have no idea how I can explain this properly without pictures, so if anyone reading this really wants to know how I did it I'll recreate the steps mentioned above.

I also added some sideburns to give Haarlep's hair a bit more of a finished look. After I was completely done with the hair (checked that I had not left any bald spot unchecked) I attached their ears on their lower horns using a piece of the same yarn I have used for the body.
The Harness
This was arguably my favourite part of this entire project! I really enjoyed making this as I could use several types of materials into this. I wanted to make the harness without having to directly attach it to Haarlep's body, so that it could be tight enough for it to stay attached. Bit first I had to start with the basics.

The undies! I freehanded the underwear as well, which goes as follows:
I started with the front, and made a chain that reached the diameter of Haarlep's body. From there I worked down, adding a single crochet per chain stitch. And at each end of the row I made a decrease. I used knitting markers to attach the underwear on the body as I made it to get as much of an accurate fit as possible. I kept going until I reached the hind, which is where I had to "split" the underwear to accommodate the tail. At first I went to the left, making every row very small until it reached 3/4 of the top of the tail (while making sure it could reach the front side of the underwear). I then made a chain that went around the entire top of the tail, and kept going until I reached the other side of the underwear, and attached my chain on it. I did the same stitching as I did on the other side of the tail, except in reverse until I reached the rest of the underwear. From there I finished up the underwear by securing all sides of the underwear to each other using the same yarn so it would seamlessly fit across the doll's waist.

I have no idea how to write a comprehensive tutorial and/or a pattern. So again, if you don't understand how I did this from the text I wrote please send me a message. I'll draw how I did this instead, and edit it into this post.
Next was the harness itself. I used a chain with a double crochet per chain stitch, and measured the chain against the body as I made it. I started out from the middle (the back strap that divides on the shoulders, to the front of the chest where it splits. I made several different sizes of "straps", always making a pair. I then attached every strap on a chainmail ring (the soft silver RVS rings), and kind of worked my way from there. I opened each ring with 2 pliers, slid on the end of each strap in place, and closed the ring with the pliers again. This was very much a 'trust the process' type of work for me.

If I couldn't secure the strap just yet I held them in place with a knitting marker (see shoulders).
For the shoulder pads I only used a chain to make the straps that go under the arms, and almost followed the same steps as I did when creating the underwear. Start with a chain (except smaller, like 5 or 6 chain stitches), do a round of single crochets, decrease at the ends of the rows, a round of single crochets, etc. Until I got a tiny rounded triangle, which I attached to the shoulder chain.
Next, I wanted to create the spikes that go on top of the shoulder pads. At first I wanted to make the tiniest studs using some embroidery thread. But I recently acquired a 3d printer! And as I already was using metal in the harness, I wanted those studs to match.
So I created a simple design on Tinkercad.com using a simple cone, printed 10 of them (using a 0,25mm nozzle and neutral white PLA filament), and painted them silver. Then I figured that I could drill a little hole in it with the same small hand drill I used on the resin, but turns out that cured PLA filament is quite hard, and brittle at the same time. So I went back to Tinkercad, and designed a cone with a hole in it that would allow a larger needle to go through it. I made the cone 0,5x0,5 millimeters.

After that was done I painted them silver again. Below you also see the shoulder pads, which is the only picture I have of them before I attached them to the doll.

I used 5 studs per shoulder pad, and sewed them directly onto the pads with black thread. After I secured them with a tiny drop of instant glue so they wouldn't shift. I could've created another hole that ran opposite of the one already going through the cone, but I think that it would've made the integrity of the inner (teeny tiny) supports within the cone too vulnerable.
After that was done I attached the shoulder pads around the arms and the harness.

For the final touches I attached the small chains from the jewelry kit, mirroring the references I found. I simply opened them with the pliers, hooked them through a stitch in the harness, and closed them. I actually had run out of these chains, and literally dismantled a necklace as I wasn't going to wait around and buy another jewellery kit or a whole spool of necklace chains when I was so close to the end. And I'm glad I did, because my patience had run out after I had been working on little Haarlep since August 2024.
And with that, they were done!

As soon as I was done I made pictures, and sent Haarlep on their way to Lia along with some snacks and a few other bits and bops. This project was such a challenge, but very much a welcome one. I had started learning how to crochet in december 2023, and truly went out of my comfort zone, and learned so much about crocheting techniques, trusting the process, and Frankensteining several patterns into one.
If you have any questions regarding this project, or if I can clear up anything mentioned here I'd love to help to the best of my abilities! Other than that, thank you for reading this and following the journey of creating the most intricate and hardest crocheting project I have made so far. And it was a joy to make. But it will most likely not be the last one, and not the hardest as I have no plans of quitting crocheting anytime soon. Who knows I'll surprise myself with the next Baldur's Gate 3, or other fandom project I'll decide to undertake.

I saw Twisters yesterday and..
Boy oh boy is it yapping time, I have mostly high praises to sing, but there were a couple things I wasn't too thrilled with.
If you haven't seen it yet and/or want to avoid spoilers, feel free to scroll on down because believe me when I say that going in as blind as possible is the way to go with this film.
All good? Alright, perfect. To keep things relatively short and sweet, this will be a bit of a quick fire type thing. So first up, the good.
The references, man oh man the references. There were plenty of lil nods to the og but some that really stood out:
Right off the bat, in the original when it was showing the WB logo and had the dark clouds, along with that melody or motif or what have you during the opening? Yeah it did exactly that, jingle and all
The Dorothy, as Kate and her crew are testing it to make sure it works in the beginning scene, it's implied that it's been used before
Speaking of the Dorothy, the device itself and the sensors look EXACTLY like the ones in the first movie
Kate says she's "not back" when Javi welcomes her back to chasing, like the original crew does Bill In the later part of the movie
Kate rocks a white tank and tan pants like Jo in the scene where they're at the rodeo and a tornado catches them off guard; as a double, this references the scene in the og where the main crew are at a drive in theater and a tornado surprises them
On a similar note, at some point Kate wears a shirt that looks a good bit like that blonde kid's shirt at the end of Twister when he and his family come out of their shelter when the EF5 lifts
The effects, namely for the tornadoes themselves, absolutely phenomenal. No movie will get it perfect, but I've gotta say that Twisters came pretty damn close to absolutely nailing it right down to a T. There were a couple times you could tell it was CGI but whew for the most part it was seamless
The accuracy, you can absolutely tell that the production crew really cared about keeping things as accurate as possible, in terms of storms, supercells, etc and how they work. I'm willing to bet they had meteorologists on standby to tell them how things work, how things would play out, etc etc. Also the ground scouring when it shows the damage done after larger tornadoes??? HELLO???
The soundtrack, I'm not usually one for country music but holy FUCK there were some absolute bangers, I often found myself tapping my feet to the songs or trying not to hum along (especially when Owens' crew shows up with "Ain't no Love in Oklahoma" going in the background, WHOOO that's a good one). Not to mention, the songs added onto the scenes they were in, often making them a bit more emotionally impactful
The actors and respectively the characters, the actors played their roles phenomenally and really sent the ball out of the park. I never really pay attention to the actors but I should've known they'd deliver when I saw everyone agree online that they'd pack a punch. And the characters, man they really added hella depth to each character, making them all feel incredibly fleshed out and relatable in a way
The intensity, hooo man did things get intense when shit hit the fan and tornadoes were bearing down. There were a good few times I sat there with my eyes glued to the screen, unblinking and watching what was going on. I was practically clutching my pearls tbh
And now, of course, the not so good. Oddly enough though, I don't have much negative to say about Twisters aside from the whole "destroying tornadoes" thing and how it seems a bit like a romance film blended into a natural disaster move. Obviously, there's no way for people to disrupt or completely stop a tornado like they eventually did in the movie. There's no way for someone to send stuff up into a funnel and get it to disappear like Kate did, ESPECIALLY if it's an EF5. Now as for the romance thing, it's Hollywood. Of course they're gonna try to throw some sort of romantic hullabaloo in there, I should've saw it coming but man it gets old sometimes.
My final verdict? A solid movie, regardless of whether or not you've seen the original. I can already tell it's going to hit the top of some charts for movies, and for very good reason. And if you're gonna watch Twisters, 100% see it at a theater. It's so much better that way, pricier but much better because it's kinda unifying in a way. There were a good few times that everyone in the room was laughing, and it was just overall a good time.
So I rate it a Tyler Owens in the rain out of ten.
#twisters#twisters movie#twisters movie 2024#twisters 2024#twisters spoilers#twisters movie spoilers#movie review#i lowkey really loved this movie#like i was staying cautiously optimistic because i was worried they'd butcher things#but nah they did really mf well with this#so i think i can safely say i've got a new favorite movie now

Language of the Seven Rings and its Varieties
The Pride Ring/Common (Morningspeech/’Nugaheem’)
Initially, hellborns of the Pride Ring had their own languages based on grumble, roar, ‘controlled scream’, and aspects of the body like clapping, snapping, or slamming objects in patterns. This language is known as ‘Impish’
When Lucifer and Lilith fell, both introduced Adamic Language to imps, hellhounds, incubi/ succubi, and locals of the Pride Ring. Impish still existed as ‘peasants’s languages’ while ‘corrupted/Hellish Adamic’ is considered the official and ‘high language’.
Post-Babel humans introduced Semitic languages along with Kemetics, Anatolian, and Hittite. There were two ‘main waves’ outstanding from each period; Sodomite-Gommorian (Having senses of gender binarism and ‘chopped’ honorifics from ‘The Lord of Lords’ to ‘Trash-Slaves’) and Kemetic during the Exodus (Thanks to the last Plague).
After the ‘Babelite/Old Morningspeech‘ period, there was another big reformation after Hebrews and Latin-speaking sinners became more noteworthy. The ‘Middle/Common Morningspeech’ was meant to be ‘easily learnt, simple, and direct’ enough for even the laziest idiots to learn the basics in months. Some called it ‘Old Simplified Nugaheem’.
Later, the 3rd wave imported English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and ‘loanwords’ of Chinese and Japanese into the Pride Ring. It’s referred as ‘Modern/Intercontinental Nugaheem’ or ‘New Simplified Nugaheem’
Both versions of Nugaheems are commonly used between rings and sinners alike. Official declaration and media tends to use the Old/Classical one, except on casual media and Social Medias.
The Wrath Ring
The Wrath Ring’s Nugaheem is shorter by syllabi-per-word, lack of tone marking, and focus on time and relationship between senders and receivers. The written form is mostly direct, focusing on relationships between place, persons, and time, and incorporating emoji-like symbols that don’t take part when being spoken.
Acronyms, Alias/nicknames, and offensive terms are ‘flavorful’ and ‘various‘.
Wrath Ring-variant Nugaheem is considered ‘low culture’ and in higher societies, Morningspeech is expected to be used instead.
Some elements of ‘Old Impish’ have remained; shouting, highlighting words, grumbling, and hand gestures play significant roles.
Nonlinguistic and Nonverbal languages also play major roles, as form or ‘context’; sarcasm, taunting, oathmaking/affirming, subjugated/confessing, threatening/commanding, or requesting/blackmailing.
The Gluttony Ring
Adjectives-specific; doneness of steak, ripeness of fruit, subtypes of flavors, cooking methods, etc.
Each culinary adjective bears figurative meaning; ‘Medium-Done’ means ‘Half-willing’, ‘Green Rare’ means ‘toddler-like’, or stewed as ‘taking time to understand’.
Some loanwords from Italian, Chinese(especially Cantonese), French, Spanish, and Arabic.
Context of genders, ages, and relationship between senders and receivers are almost nonexist beside familial and friendship closeness-related contexts.
They tend to use adjectives and adverbs frequently like ‘spices of language’.
The Greed Ring
Avoiding idioms and figures of speech, but jargon is highly used. Especially in written forms. Most of them are ones of communication industry, engineering, and business/banking.
Prefer to use ‘less words that carry more meanings’, in both specifying and vagueness, which causes loopholes.
‘Sounds polite, gentle, and professional’
Can be said quickly that there are almost no tongue twisters.
Commoners stick to ‘Official Morningspeech’ with sparingly added jargon.
The Lust Ring
Tonal, Prose-like, and Emotional(including anger, sadness, excitement, boredom, endearing, dominance, submission, etc.)
Romance-like with flexible honorifics and some loanwords from Japanese, French, and Spanish.
Written forms are Latin-based(as in almost solely Latin alphabetic) and ‘additional words’ are expected.
Vulgar words are more ‘specifically functional’ than others, while non-vulgar offenses are also common, but both are somehow combined.
Homonyms are common, as some say there are far too common.
The Envy Ring
Combining characteristics of The Greed Ring, The Lust Ring, and Gluttony Ring while also developing their own characteristics.
Regional Sublanguage elements are still present, as some pronunciations are incapable to be said by sinners at all.
Their language is riddling, highly symbolic, idiomatic, and hides true contexts on purpose(Like Kanto accent to the rest of Japan, but more extreme)
Hissing, Croaking, and throat-based pronunciations are common.
Adjectives and adverbs are not commonly used, but using them means it’s extra serious.
The Sloth Ring
‘Prayer-like’; slow and pitch-accented, but having several syllables per word can be tongue twisting if spoken quickly.
The closest to Babelite Nugaheem; barely changed. However, more Hebrew, Arabic, and Latin elements are somehow common as loanwords.
Prefixes and Suffixes are often used to ‘form words’.
Sometimes, silence and nonverbal languages between words are ‘part of the speech’.
Grammar barely exists, or if it does, it is simple and highly flexible.

Hello Beauties
It is I, the thunderous ElecMan, finally making my debut on this Rotomblr app or whatever you call it
Now it may come as a shock to you that I am hopelessly new to this Pokemon world, but there is nothing that Dr. Light's finest creation cannot get a handle on
additionally, I became the chosen of the legendary pokemon Zapdos not too long ago. I may be inexperienced in being chosen by a god like being, but I'm sure a flawless robot such as myself can get the hang of it.
in terms if Pokemon I currently possess a Plusle and Minun (Tumble and Twister respectively), a Smeargle (Pebble), a Voltorb (Dynamite), and a Timburr (Oliver)
((Ooc under the cut))
This is the first time I'm playing a faller character, so I'm probably gonna be really rusty, please be patient as I learn how to do this
This ElecMan is mostly inspired by MegaMan Powered Up, however I have taken some smaller aspects from other sources
speaking of which, this ElecMan is unique in the sense that he's technically not from the MegaMan Classic Games origin wise. For more information I'd suggest reading this which contains this ElecMan's origin story. However you can still interact with this ElecMan as if he's ripped straight from the Classic games, he remembers all the events (except anything taking place after MegaMan 11) and is mostly similar character wise.
any post that references this unique backstory will be tagged as #voltage lore
ElecMan is kind of an asshole so please tell me if I over step any boundaries or anything
nothing sexual, at all
There will be swearing
Blog is in character. Out of character will be tagged with #ooc
however not everything tagged with #ooc is out of character. Sometimes I may add some comments with the tag #ooc: [insert comment here]
This is a Pokemon irl blog so general Unreality waring for the whole blog
If I don't post for long stretches of time it is because I forgot about the blog
more will be added if the situation arises

Odds & Ends: September 20, 2024
Oklahoma’s Onion Burgers. Many regions of the country lay claim to a signature burger. For Oklahoma, it’s the onion burger, which is made by pressing thinly sliced onions directly into the patty while it cooks. It’s delicious. In back-to-back weeks, the McKays sampled burgers that are considered two of Oklahoma’s best. We got one at Sid’s, which has been around since 1989 and is located in El Reno, the Route 66 town where the onion burger was born in the 1920s (also the location of the climatic scene in Twisters). And we tried Tucker’s, which has several locations in Oklahoma City. Both were tasty, but I’ve got to give my nod to Tucker’s. Philosophy for Creators and Entrepreneurs. Luke Burgis put out a list of philosophy books for creators and entrepreneurs that spans 2,000 years. It includes books not just from philosophy, but also theology and literature. The goal of the list is to help entrepreneurs and creators reconnect with the big questions in life and how their work can help others reconnect with those big questions, too. From Homer to Kierkegaard, this list isn’t light reading, but Burgis thinks it’ll help you “see the form of something new.” I’ve added several books to my to-read list, particularly ones from the Desert Fathers. The Twilight Zone’s “The Lonely.” With ChatGPT rolling out a new voice feature that allows you to engage in a back-and-forth conversation with a surprisingly lifelike bot, people have been saying it reminds them of the movie Her, in which a man falls for his artificially intelligent virtual assistant. But it’s reminded me of an even further back reference — a 1959 episode of The Twilight Zone. In “The Lonely,” a convicted murderer is sentenced to solitary confinement on an asteroid. When he’s given a robotic woman for company, he falls in love with her. The episode is a reminder that, for quite a long time now, we’ve been worried about what will happen when we’re given artificial companions that are shaped in our own frictionless image. And the closing dialogue between the characters offers an excellent coda on the danger of losing our grasp on what is and isn’t real. The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer. I read this gritty war epic back in a college class called “The Novel as American History,” and I still think about it today. Norman Mailer wrote this book when he was just 25 and based it partially on his own experience serving in the Philippines during WWII. He takes an unflinching look at soldiers’ psyches and the brutal realities of combat. It’s considered one of the greatest novels ever written. Finally! I'm making the sketch commission post!!!
Have you ever wanted me to draw something just for you? Your oc? your self insert? Your favorite ship? or maybe a piece of branding for your site/stream?
I like money, and I will draw for it!!!!!
PRICES:
Base (one character sketch): $45
Additional character: +$10
Background: starting at +$25
Complexity charge: up to +$15
How to Order:
Send me an ask/DM about your commission idea
If I accept I'll give you an ETA (I may need an extension but I will always message you if this is the case)
Once we decide on the details, I'll ask for payment via paypal
The final product will be delivered as a digital PNG file which you may do as you please with. Color it, post it, edit it, use it on your website, go nuts! I reserve the right to post it on my blog for promo purposes.

Alright said I’d make a more detailed (somewhat) post about seeing the movies today:
Deadpool and Wolverine: 100% lived up to expectations and one of my top favorite marvel movies! I think they did a damn good job at adding in cameos and nods to other things without it being too much. And I think they also did a good job at adding in the tva but explaining it enough where people who haven’t seen Loki still can understand it (know this from my friend who watched it with me but hasn’t watched Loki) Also side thing but I think it’s extremely funny how usually when I’m watching stuff I skip over heavily gory fight scenes but then those ended up being my favorite parts to watch in this lol
Twisters: holy shit guys this movie is incredible and my friend and I agreed that it was so much better than we thought it was going to be (we both heard it was good but didn’t know much about it before going into it) And like 99% of what I’ve heard people talking about when referring to this movie is Glen but like what about the rest of it?? The high stakes?? The aftermath scenes?? The main freaking character Kate and her story?? Where’s the posts about that?? This movie is honestly one of my all time favorite movies in general. Another side note being that as someone absolutely terrified of tornadoes this movie was my version of a horror movie lol

Twisters (dir. Lee Isaac Chung).
[It] suitably fulfills its promise of returning to a past era of loud disaster entertainment. Chung uses his bag of necessary contrivances well to properly set up and tell his film economically while adding urgent elements of climate change, humanitarian relief, and runaway capitalism. Its callbacks and small references to the original Twister are fairly light, casual, and referential while making something refreshingly exciting from a well-worn premise.

some fantastic notes
started writing this end of June '22 + into July/August but stalled out so i put it away to write birthday fics instead
(i think i stalled out in part bc i had a complete outline - since i was following the movie i knew all the scenes of the fic before i wrote it - and that makes writing very boring. i like knowing the ending, at least vaguely, but the fun comes from discovering the scenes as i write..)
picked it back up in June '23 for.. literally no reason. i think it was like 9pm and i suddenly HAD to write more. then put it away to write my exams lol
(i'm pretty sure i wrote meeting the gang + razor pov + first chase + 1/2 lunch break scenes + dainsleif scene (+ assorted bits) in '22)
when i picked it back up i watched Twister to write basically scene-by-scene, which made it very easy to fill in bits where i was like 'aaaand now they all say things about tornados ¯\_(ツ)_/¯'
chiscara and the sumeru characters weren't in the original draft, and i added the eyepatch stuff, but the basic shape of the story didn't change bc it's just the plot of Twister but they have magic powers lol
it seemed unavoidable that i'd have to do multiple povs to mimic the movie. originally kaeya wasn't gonna get a pov at all but last minute i thought,, as a treat,,, he could close it out
have i mentioned lately how much i enjoy coming up with bg relationships and backstories that are never fully explained in the fic. bc i think it's my favourite thing. btw rosie & dain are having just thee worst sex
after a lot of very stupid googling i decided to just swap to the usa dictionary on gdocs and call that a believable portrait of 90s america
i know margaritaville as a brand/restaurant experience didn't really exist in the 90s but i liked that reference and didn't want to pull it. also didn't want to bother finding a 90s equivalent sry
now i can confidently point to oklahoma on a map(´∀`)
had a lot of difficulty coming up with a title (as usual), but settled on the BNL song ((if i had to justify this pick beyond 'words sound good together' it's 90s music for divorcees))
reading:
most of the Murderbot series, while writing
most of the elemental logic series, while editing
listening:
deliberately uncivil, the klk megamix ever
forcefield by TPC
bnl are me

- likes to be close to you at all times
if the whole couch is free she’ll still sit next to you, thigh to thigh
- doesn’t like to argue but will if she feels strongly enough about it
- she can honestly be kinda condescending in arguments without even realising it
definitely comes from her role as a leader
- she asks you multiple times through the day what you’re thinking about just because she likes to know what’s going on inside you head
- likes to do normal, everyday things with you like chores. honestly doesn’t even care that she has to vacuum the whole house, she just likes that fact that the two of you are cleaning together
- as clingy as she is she also really likes her alone time and will often take herself to a corner of the house to just mellow out, especially if she’s been around people a lot that day
- she’ll always come and find you with a smile on her face when she’s ready to though
- loves to update you on her day when she’s away. she’s been known to send you photos of anything and everything when she’s with team canada
- likes to get you lil something from every city she visits if she can
- you display all the trinkets she gets you on a shelf
- when you first started dating she’d write you letters as a way to express her emotions because she didn’t feel like she could properly communicate them directly to you
she gives them all to you on your wedding day
- she’s just so so so so in love with you
NSFW
– generally soft during sex unless she’s high off a win, pissed off or been away from you for too long
– is a switch lol
– gets pleasure from you being pleasured, she’d eat you out for hours if you let her because she likes knowing that she can get you off
- also a biiiiiiiiiiiiig fan of using a strap, absolutely loves the way you look when she bottoms out
- is surprisingly vocal in bed
- has a massive praise kink it’s literally insane
- she came untouched once bc she was fucking you w her strap and you were telling her how good she was doing
- likes when you scratch down her back but can’t let you do it often bc of the shared change room
- once went to training with a scratched up back and sam never let her live it down
- isn’t super experienced but she is observant so she figures out what you like really early on
- made it her personal mission to fuck you on every surface of your new place when the two of you moved to portland
- is a big fan of morning sex
- not a big fan of shower sex
- also is a fan of make up sex
- tries to give you as many orgasms as physically possible in one round (four is her record) (she intends to beat it)
- aftercare queen
- is pretty firm with what she does and doesn’t like and isn’t usually one to go out of her comfort zone unless the two of you have discussed it before
- refuses to hit you during sex. she’s just not comfortable with it
- doesn’t really like choking either but she does like having her hand on the base of your neck without applying any pressure
also goes absolutely feral when you do it to her
- definitely prefers to have sex in the comfort of your own home
- the two of you got caught by niamh once because jess was too loud as you ate her out
neither of you could look her in the eye for about a week afterwards and jessie endured so much teasing
- isn’t one to have drunk sex but she does like just having her hands under your bra so she can cup your breasts. she doesn’t know why, it just happens when the two of you are going to bed after a night out
- is the biggest tease in the world
- will rile you up and then pretend she has no idea what she’s doing
- has insane stamina and will go for rounds until she physically can’t
- can get really cocky during sex, especially when she knows you’re about to cum
- if she’s had a really shit day/week she likes to be overstimulated just to get all of her negative emotions out
