this is the second weekend in a row i’ve spent working. and i don’t know if i’m just acting like a baby or a delusional but this CANNOT be normal or acceptable. i hate it here and i cannot live this way.
#these past three weeks have been the most stressful experience of life#ive been so tired and burnt out and I don’t know how people do this#even without all the drama and crisis we’ve had to address you STILL have to do your regular workload and fucking GOALS!#which is corporate bullshit that basically makes you do extra work on top of your workload under of the guise of ‘learning more skills’#and ‘challenging yourself outside of your daily work tasks’#i already don’t have enough time to do this as it is and now I gotta take a course in SEO!? absolutely not#I had a revelation the other day though that I don’t *have* to stay in a job that I don’t like#I mean now is not the best time for a career change given the state of the economy#but I don’t have to stay in this role or at this job forever#there’s so much time to change things#but I have been feeling so uninspired and unhappy and stressed. I wish work wasnt the space where I have to be challenged to grow#i wish I didn’t feel like my self worth and job were tied together but that’s how the corporate machine WORKS#i just hate it here. and i hate the fact we gotta live like this

I'm sorryyyyyy!
She missed them. A week ago, they’d been preparing for a gig just like this one, but they’d been together. It was harder to worry about an onstage voice crack when Reggie was cracking jokes. She could ignore the awkward beats of silence when Fuego entered their practice room mid-song when Alex always kept up a steady beat with his fingers against his thigh. Performance jitters were nothing when Luke couldn’t help but jitter around in the seat beside her.

I haven’t really seen any of the more recent U.S. election news hitting tumblr yet so here’s some updates (now edited with sources added):
There’s evidence of Trump cheating and interfering with the election.
Possible Russian interference.
Mail-in ballots are not being counted or “recognized” in multiple (notably swing) states.
30+ bomb threats were called in and shut down polling stations on Election Day.
20+ million votes are still unaccounted for, and that’s just to have the same voter turnout as 2020.
There was record voter turnout and new/first-time voter registration this year. We definitely should be well over the turnout in 2020.
U.S. citizens are using this site to demand, not only a recount, but a complete investigation into election fraud and interference for the reasons stated above:

Here is what I submitted as an example:
An investigation for election interference and fraud is required. We desperately need a recount or even a revote. The American people deserve the right to a free and fair election. There has been evidence unveiled of Trump cheating and committing election fraud which is illegal. There is some evidence of possible Russian interference. At least 30+ bomb threats were called in to polling places. Multiple, notably swing states, have ballots unaccounted for and voting machines not registering votes. Ballots and ballot boxes were tampered with and burned. Over 20 million votes that we know of are unaccounted for. With record turnout and new voter registration this year, there should be no possibility that there are less votes than even in the 2020 election.
Sources (working on finding more links but if anyone wants to add info, it’s appreciated):
FBI addressing Russian interference and bomb threats:

Emails released by Rachael Bellis (private account, can’t share original tweet) confirming Trump committing election fraud:

Pennsylvania's Centre County officials say they are working with their ballot scanner vendor to figure out why the county's mail-in ballot data is "not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software:”

Wisconsin recount:

Multiple screenshots and images.
The first is a screenshot with a link and information for contacting the White House directly regarding election fraud. The instructions include choosing to leave a comment to President Joe Biden directly and to select election security as the reason.
The screenshot then instructs people to include any or all of the following information in a paragraph as a comment to the president:
32 fake bomb threats were called into Democratic leaning poll places, rendering polling places closed for at least an hour.
A lot of people reporting their ballots were not counted for various reasons.
This all occurred in swing states.
This is too coincidental that these things happen and swing in his favor after months of hinting at foul play.
Directly state that an investigation for tampering, interference, fraud is required, not just a recount.
The second image is from the FBI Twitter account that reads:
The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains. None of the threats have been determined to be credible thus far. https://t.co/j3YfajVK1m — FBI (@FBI) November 5, 2024
The next four Gmail screenshots of an email sent to Rachael Bellis from Chris T. Spackman that read together as follows:
Dear BELLIS, RACHAEL E., The Dauphin County Board of Elections received a challenge to your absentee ballot you applied for in the November 5, 2024 General Election. The challenge argues that a provision of the Pennsylvania Election Code takes precedence over the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), which requires states and counties to permit U.S. citizens who move overseas to vote by absentee ballot for federal offices based on their last U.S. residential address.
The full text of the challenge that was filed appears below this email.
You may respond to the challenge in any of the following ways:
1. Call the Bureau of Registration and Election at (717) 780-6360;
2. Email a statement to the Bureau at Election [email protected]. Any statement you submit regarding the period during which you lived in Dauphin County, any family or connections that you still have here, and why you are now residing abroad would be read into the record.
3. Appear in person at a Board of Elections hearing scheduled for Friday, November 8 at a time to be determined in the Commissioners Public Hearing Room, 4th floor of Dauphin County Administration Building, 2 S 20d St, Harrisburg, PA 17111. The meeting is also likely to be livestreamed on Facebook on the Dauphin County channel.
Sincerely,
Christopher T Spackman
TEXT OF CHALLENGE BEGINS
Dear Dauphin County Board of Elections,
I am submitting this challenge to an absentee ballot application pursuant to 25 Pa. Stat.
3146.8(f).
25 Pa. Stat. 3146.8(f) Any person challenging an application for an absentee ballot, an absentee ballot, an application for a mail-in ballot or a mail-in ballot for any of the reasons provided in this act shall deposit the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) in cash with the county board, which sum shall only be refunded if the challenge is sustained or if the challenge is withdrawn within five (5) days after the primary or election. If the challenge is dismissed by any lawful order then the deposit shall be forfeited. The county board shall deposit all deposit money in the general fund of the…
The rest of the forwarded email is cut off.
The last image is a screenshot of the official statement from the Centre County, Pennsylvania Board of Commissioners released on November 6, 2024 that states:
Centre County Working with Ballot Scanner Vendor to Export Election Results.
(Bellefonte, PA) -Centre County Elections Office is working continuously to provide mail-in ballot data in order to post unofficial results.
To this point, all ballots have been scanned, including all mail-in ballots.
Centre County's Election team and IT team have identified that the data are successfully being exported from the mail-in ballot scanners, but that the data is not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software.
Centre County's Administrator, John Franek, Jr. stated, "We have not stopped working, and we will continue to work until unofficial results are posted and reported to the Pennsylvania Department of State."
As a next step, Centre County has begun working with the equipment vendor to adjust configurations to make the two systems-the mail-in ballot scanner and the elections software where data are uploaded -compatible with one another.
We will provide updates as we make progress.

"In a major move for rivers up and down the land, last week it was announced that Sussex’s River Ouse is set to be granted its own rights.
A new charter that has just been approved by Lewes district council officially recognises the Ouse as a living entity. Based on the Universal Declaration of River Rights, the charter gives the waterway eight rights, including the right to flow, to be pollution-free, to have native biodiversity and to undergo regeneration and restoration.
The decision to give the Ouse legal personhood was actually made two years ago when the council passed a rights of river motion. In the two years since, the likes of Lewes district council, Environmental Law Foundation, Ouse and Adur Rivers Trust and Southwood Foundation have all worked together to create the charter.
Matthew Bird, director of the Love Our Ouse campaign, said: ‘This is a momentous moment for the river and goes some way towards recognising that the river is an entity in its own right and that its voice needs to be represented in decisions which affect it. The river faces numerous challenges including pollution, climate change, over use and development.
‘The Charter provides a common framework through which to address these challenges which we hope the other major stakeholders on the Ouse will feel able to endorse. We hope Lewes District Council’s decision to support the Ouse Charter will encourage communities throughout the UK to pursue charters for their local rivers.’
Emma Montlake, co-director of the Environmental Law Foundation, added: ‘By supporting the Rights of Rivers, Lewes District Council has set a precedent that could transform the way we safeguard our rivers. The River Ouse is an essential part of the region’s ecosystem and cultural heritage—this decision ensures a better future for the River’s health and protection.’
The charter isn’t actually legally binding just yet. The next stage will involve working with statutory agencies, communities and landowners along the river to make sure that that the new rights are implemented."
-via TimeOut, March 3, 2025
Note: This is part of the broader Rights of Nature movement, and I believe the first natural body to be granted personhood/rights in Europe [edited for accuracy 3/12/25]. (Let me know in the comments if there have been others!) It's a whole new paradigm for how to view nature - and grants us a new set of powerful tools for legally defending nature from degradation and pollution. In other words, this is pretty exciting. Read more about the Rights of Nature movement here and here.

Urgent Appeal: Support Our Humanitarian Mission in Gaza
My name is Osama , I am a humanitarian activist and founder of "A Sign of Hope team" a dedicated team committed to providing essential aid to displaced families in the South of the Gaza Strip. As a non-registered organization, our team operates with limited resources but with an unwavering commitment to supporting those in dire need amidst the ongoing crisis.
✅️Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #209 )✅️
The Crisis: A Devastating Displacement
The recent escalation in violence has led to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. Over 1.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes in the northern Gaza Strip, seeking safety in the south. This mass displacement has left countless individuals and families in precarious situations, having abandoned everything they owned in their desperate bid for safety. The dire conditions are exacerbated by the fact that approximately 390,000 of these displaced individuals have sought refuge in UNRWA schools. The remaining displaced persons, who were unable to secure shelter with relatives or rental accommodations, are left to live in makeshift tents scattered across various locations in the south of Gaza. These individuals face extreme hardships, with basic necessities like food, clothing, and medicine often out of reach.

Our Mission: On-the-Ground Support
At "A Sign of Hope" our mission is to provide immediate relief to those who are suffering the most. We are actively working on the ground to assist families residing in schools and those living in tents, despite the substantial risks involved. Our team is dedicated to making a tangible difference by addressing the most pressing needs of these displaced families. To this end, we have begun assembling and distributing parcels containing essential supplies , including food , clothing , water , money , Entertainment programs for displaced children and medicine . These parcels are a lifeline for many offering a glimmer of hope amidst the overwhelming challenges they face.

bet — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader ( no use of y/n ) summary: you and spencer have a bet on who is going to be the first to expose your relationship content warnings: mention of a victim a/n: when i tell you this took me ages omg i was struggling
You and Spencer had a bet.
A ridiculous, entirely unnecessary bet—but a bet nonetheless.
The stakes? Bragging rights, and the satisfaction of being able to tease the other endlessly.
The challenge? Who would be the first to slip up and accidentally reveal your secret relationship to the rest of the BAU team.
Both of you knew that secrecy wasn’t exactly your strong suit. Between Spencer’s tendency to ramble when nervous and your habit of wearing your emotions like a neon sign, it was only a matter of time before someone pieced it all together.
And that was what made the bet so much fun—because neither of you wanted to be the one to crack first.
Some mishaps had already happened, moments that came far too close to giving you both away.
Like the time Derek had caught Spencer staring at you during a team briefing. “Hey, Pretty Boy, you got something to add, or are you just lost in thought over there?” Derek had teased, a smirk tugging at his lips. Spencer, predictably, had flushed a deep shade of red and stumbled over a vague response.
And, of course, who could forget the case in Chicago when Hotch had walked into the room just as Spencer had brushed a strand of hair out of your face? The gesture had been so natural, so tender, that even Hotch had paused for a fraction of a second before continuing his sentence. You could’ve sworn he’d given you a knowing glance, though he hadn’t said a word.
Right now, you were sitting at your desk, trying (and failing) to focus on finishing your report on the case from two days ago.
“Spence, what was the address of the place where we found the second victim?” you asked, tapping your pen on the paper as you glanced up at your boyfriend sitting across from you at his desk.
“1375 Oakridge Drive,” he replied almost automatically, barely looking up from his own report.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, jotting it down and trying not to get distracted by the little curl of hair falling onto his forehead.
The bullpen was unusually quiet, save for the faint clacking of keyboards and the low hum of the coffee machine.
That peace didn’t last long, though, as Derek and Garcia burst into the room, engaged in what sounded like a very enthusiastic debate.
“Reid, listen to this!” Derek called out, cutting across the bullpen as Penelope trailed behind him, waving her arms dramatically. Both you and Spencer instinctively looked up from your work.
“Okay,” Derek began, leaning one arm casually on the divider of Spencer’s desk. “Do you think watching a rom-com with someone is romantic?”
“Specifically with a friend,” Penelope interjected, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Because apparently, Mr. ‘Romance Expert’ here thinks it is!”
Derek rolled his eyes. “Come on, Penelope. It can be romantic. I mean, think about it—it’s all cozy, emotional, and half the time someone ends up crying or sharing popcorn. You’re telling me that doesn’t create a vibe?”
Spencer blinked, caught off guard by the sudden question. He sat up straighter, adjusting his tie slightly as he considered his answer.
“Well,” he began, his voice contemplative, “the concept of watching a romantic comedy doesn’t inherently equate to a romantic interaction. However, if the participants have underlying romantic feelings, the environment—such as sharing an intimate space or engaging in emotional dialogue—could certainly facilitate a sense of connection. For example, I—”
He froze mid-sentence, his brain catching up with his mouth as he realized where he was going.
Oh no.
Your eyes widened in panic as you watched Spencer flounder. His lips parted as though he might try to backtrack, but the damage was already done.
“For example…?” Derek prompted, his brows shooting up, clearly intrigued.
Spencer quickly cleared his throat, fumbling for a save. “Uh, hypothetically. I mean, generally speaking. Like, if two people…were, um, interested in each other—not me, of course—then maybe…” His voice trailed off as he glanced at you.
You bit the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing, knowing full well that he was treading dangerously close to losing the bet.
Derek narrowed his eyes, studying Spencer for a moment. “Hmm,” he said slowly, drawing out the syllable. “You’re acting a little weird there. Something you wanna share with the class?”
“Nope!” Spencer said quickly, shaking his head so forcefully it made his curls bounce. “Absolutely nothing.”
Penelope raised an eyebrow, looking between you and Spencer with suspicion. “Uh-huh. If you say so.”
You decided to intervene before they could dig any deeper. “Alright, Garcia, what’s your stance on the rom-com thing?” you asked, redirecting the conversation.
The distraction worked, and Penelope launched into an impassioned argument, effectively pulling Derek’s attention away from Spencer.
You shot Spencer a look across the desks, mouthing close call. He gave you an apologetic shrug, his cheeks still faintly pink.
Two days later, you made the mistake. The one that was ten times worse than the rom-com slip-up Spencer had made.
You were in the file room, buried in paperwork that Hotch had assigned to you earlier that morning. The hours had been long and draining, and you’d barely made a dent in the pile.
Derek was there too, flipping through some files, his eyes narrowing in concentration, while Garcia sat at the table, her usual flair of colorful banter filling the otherwise quiet room.
She wasn’t doing much work, but she was keeping the rest of you entertained with her gossip.
“This is tiring,” you mumbled, your voice barely audible as you stretched and yawned, your eyes heavy from exhaustion.
You handed Derek a file, trying to keep your energy up, though it was clear you weren’t succeeding.
Spencer, who had been quietly scanning through a set of documents, glanced up at you, and then took a step closer. “You should go take a break and grab a coffee,” he suggested, his voice warm and concerned. “I’ll take these off your hands.”
You spun around to face him, smiling at the sight of him standing there, his sleeves rolled up and his hair slightly tousled.
His expression was a mixture of concern and adoration, and you couldn’t help the little flutter in your chest.
You smiled at him, genuinely grateful for the offer. You’d been working for hours, and the fatigue was beginning to take its toll.
“Thank you,” you murmured, your voice soft with appreciation. Without thinking, you leaned in slightly and planted a quick kiss on Spencer's cheek, your hand instinctively resting on his face—something you'd done countless times without giving it much thought.
The moment your lips brushed his skin, time seemed to slow. You pulled back almost immediately, but not fast enough. Your heart skipped a beat as you looked up into Spencer’s eyes, wide and shocked.
His brown eyes were locked on yours, the same stunned expression mirroring your own.
It was like a slow-motion realization hit you both at the exact same time—you just kissed him.
Before either of you could process what had happened, a loud gasp echoed from behind you.
“Oh my god!” Garcia squealed, her voice thick with excitement.
You felt your face burn as you snapped your eyes shut, feeling a flush creep up your neck. You could practically hear Derek’s mischievous chuckle follow suit.
Spencer's back stiffened, and you knew exactly what was coming next.
“Well, well, well,” Derek's voice rang out, full of teasing amusement, “Look what we got here” His tone was almost dramatic as he clapped Spencer on the back.
“Way to go, my man! Getting the girl!” Derek cheered loudly.
You dropped your hand from Spencer’s face to his chest, your shoulders slumping as you sighed loudly.
It was out in the open now—so much for the bet.
Penelope’s voice cut through the air like a burst of confetti. “I knew it! I’ve been saying it for months, but nobody would listen to me!”
She was practically bouncing on her feet as she grinned at the both of you, clearly pleased with herself.
Spencer gave you a nervous but warm smile. You could tell he was about to say something, but before he could, you were swarmed by both Derek and Garcia.
“I knew you two were adorable,” Garcia squealed, pulling you into a tight hug. “Oh my god, you two are going to be so cute together.”
Derek, on the other hand, ruffled Spencer’s hair. “I’m proud of you, man.”
You could feel your pulse racing as you glanced at Spencer, who was doing his best to keep his usual composure, but the hint of a smile tugging at his lips betrayed him.
He gave you a look that could only be described as amused exasperation, as if asking, Well, I guess we don’t need to worry about hiding it anymore, do we?
A quiet laugh escaped your lips. Spencer’s smile softened as his hand reached for yours.
“I’m sorry,” you murmured softly, leaning in a bit closer to him. “I didn’t mean for this to—”
He cut you off with a gentle squeeze of your hand, his voice just low enough for only you to hear. “It’s okay,” he whispered, “I think it’s about time they found out.”
Later that night, you and Spencer were lying in bed. Your head rested on his chest, and your fingers absentmindedly drew soft circles over his chest as you listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath you.
His hand was gently resting around your waist, his thumb lightly brushing over the skin of your arm.
"Today was fun," you murmured into his chest, the sound muffled but sincere.
“A lot of fun,” he chuckled, the vibration of his laugh resonating through his chest.
You couldn’t help but smile to yourself, remembering the teasing from Derek and Garcia, and the way everything had just spilled out into the open.
“I for sure thought you’d be the one to lose the bet,” you teased, your voice light and playful.
Spencer raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a soft smile. "I didn’t," he said, his voice playful but confident.
“Why is that?” you asked, lifting your head just enough to prop yourself up on your elbow. Spencer met your gaze, his smile never wavering.
He was looking down at you with that soft affection that always made your heart skip a beat, but there was something teasing behind his eyes now.
"You're more obvious than me," he said, brushing a strand of hair out of your face with his fingers, the touch tender.
You immediately furrowed your brow, sitting up a little straighter. “No I’m not,” you said, a playful frown tugging at your lips.
But the moment his fingers gently brushed your hair again, any trace of the playful frown disappeared. A warm smile spread across your face, unable to resist the effect his touch had on you.
Spencer tilted his head, his eyes glinting with that teasing spark you knew so well. “Oh really?” he said, his voice laced with amusement, his gaze never leaving yours.
You rolled your eyes at him, but the smile on your face betrayed you. “Okay, maybe,” you admitted with a mock sigh, before leaning back down onto his chest.
Spencer’s laughter rumbled softly in his chest as he kissed the top of your head.
You snuggled closer to him, your face against his chest once more, feeling the beat of his heart beneath you.
"Goodnight, Spence," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Goodnight," he replied, his hand gently squeezing your waist as he kissed your forehead one last time.

hii! could you please do like after a really big argument it like gets to the point that the reader wants to break up with then and how they would handle it? i just request that choso is one of them<3
WANT US TO BREAK UP, YOU SAY?

featuring: choso kamo. gojo satoru. nanami kento. fushiguro megumi.
n. hi nonnie! thanku for the req. i usually don't write for choso, this is the first time i'm writing for him, i hope it doesn't stray out of his character. confession: i didnt proofread so.. enjoy </3
GOJO SATORU
the room was heavy with silence after your heated argument. you stood near the desk, arms crossed, emotions swirling. as for him, gojo leaned against the wall, his sunglasses off, revealing eyes that bore into you with a mix of frustration.
"this isn't working, satoru," you fidgeted your nails and shifted your feet. "i think we should break up."
he pushed off the wall, taking a step closer to you. "hell no," he said firmly, those blue eyes you know so well never leaving yours. "i'm not letting that happen."
you clenched your fists, anger and hurt bubbling to the surface. "you can't just decide that for me. we’ve been fighting constantly, and it’s exhausting.”
the man crossed the room in a few quick strides, stopping just in front of you. "we're not breaking up," he repeated, voice low and steady. "you're upset, i'm mad, and we had a fight, but that doesn't mean we break up."
tears welled up in your eyes as you met his gaze. "you don't get it, satoru. i can't keep doing this.”
he reached out, his hand gently but firmly grasping your wrist. "you’re not leaving," he said, his tone softening but still commanding. "we can fix this. together."
you tried to pull away, but his grip held you in place. "toru, this isn't just about one fight.” then his grip changed into him interlocking his fingers with you. “we keep hurting each other…”
his expression softened, but his grip remained steady. "i know, and i'm sorry, darling. but running away won't solve anything. i love you, and i'm willing to fight for us."
NANAMI KENTO
nanami’s expression remained calm, but you could see the tension in his eyes. he took a deep breath and walked over to you, his movements slow and deliberate. “please, sit down,” he said softly, gesturing to the couch. “we need to talk about this calmly.”
you hesitated, still seething with emotion, but his gentle tone made you relent. you sat down, crossing your arms defensively. nanami sat beside you, maintaining a respectful distance but close enough to show he was there for you.
“why do you want to break up?” he asked, his voice steady and soothing.
“like i said,” stating once again. unlike his, your voice cracked. “i feel like we don't have time for each other, not like we used to.”
he nodded, listening intently. “i understand,” he said, his tone even. “but breaking up isn’t the solution, sweetheart. we need to address it.”
nanami reached out, taking your hand in his. his touch was warm and reassuring. “every relationship has its challenges,” he said gently. “what matters is how we handle them. i believe we can work through this if we’re both willing to try.”
CHOSO KAMO
his eyes widened in shock, and before you could react, he crossed the room and wrapped his arms around you. his embrace was firm yet gentle, a stark contrast to the turmoil in your heart. “please, don’t say that,” he whispered, his voice filled with desperation. “you can’t just say that, baby.”
you struggled against his hold, tears streaming down your face. “choso, don’t hold me back..”
he held you tighter, saying soothing words despite the urgency. “i know it’s been hard for both of us, but never say that, i don't want to hear you say that again.”
feeling the warmth and genuineness of his embrace, you drew in a shaky breath and found yourself losing resolve. “i just, i don’t know what to do with us.” your voice breaking.
choso loosened his hold just enough to meet your gaze, his love and concern visible in his eyes. “every relationship has its struggles, but i'm sure we both can overcome them. i love you, and i’m committed to working through this with you. so please, i dont want to give up on us yet."
he gently cupped your face in his hands, his touch warm and reassuring. “i’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this work. are you?”
FUSHIGURO MEGUMI
your boyfriend’s shocked eyes became wider. “what? no!” he took a step forward, expressing a mix of disbelief and urgency. “that’s not how you solve this problem.”
with a hand raked through his hair, he was clearly frustrated. "i understand that we've been fighting a lot, but splitting up isn't the answer. we have to discuss our concerns and work towards–”
“i’m fucking trying, okay?” you hurried to cut his explanation. “you always have a logical answer for everything,” biting your lower lip, is he seeing that you don't need reasoned answers? but simply, perhaps some reassurance? “but it doesn’t change how i feel. it hurts, and i don’t see a way out of this.”
megumi took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. “i’m sorry.”
“…”
“look, i need you to hear me,”
“i don’t want to fight either, heck, i’m too tired to argue,” he gently pulled you into an embrace. “but i don’t want to lose you. i can't promise you, but we can find a way to make this better."

— nobody’s business.
feat. itoshi sae. a little sensual. 700+ wc. self indulgent :> publicizing your relationship with japan’s star player.
itoshi sae is holding onto your hand, a little more firmly than ever before. teal eyes out ahead on the field in front of you both searching for something you can’t name. you follow his gaze— it’s on the bleachers first, then hastily eyeing every player on the pitch. it’s on the spectators one second, then it’s on the cameras panning and zooming in from every direction.
sae grimaces when one such camera directs at the two of you, pulling you behind and away from the prying eyes of the media eager to catch just a glimpse of japan’s prized player and his partner who he keeps oh so hidden from the world.
he’s never denied being in a relationship. never tried to refute dating allegations with a non-celebrity, never once fazed to address the blurred pictures of him making out with someone in his car, never tried to hide the bruises on his neck that catch the eye of every fan leaving nobody wondering what it really is. he knows what they’ll do once they really know who you are— the paparazzi wouldn’t fucking leave you alone, following you everywhere. magazines would be willing to kill to get just one word from you and twist it to their likings. sae’s discreet with his words though, never gives them something to work with.
it was not until you addressed it to him yourself. just another article surfacing all around social media. something that had left a bitter taste on your tongue. ‘ itoshi sae and his supposed girlfriend ! ’ — it’s a picture of sae with a model you don’t know the name of, attending an event you weren’t invited to. he looks clearly unimpressed. but it helps little when every single comment under the article is how of well the two look together.
how well itoshi sae looks with someone who’s not you.
“you’ve already denied the rumours, so then why...” you’d said, avoiding his gaze for reasons you can’t pinpoint. “they always make up shit to write when their lukewarm ass doesn’t have real shit to sell.” he’d answered, “don’t think much about it. they’ll forget about it soon.”
when you didn’t say anything back, sae had known what he was to do. he’d known what it was you were asking of him with your silence. and for you, he was more than willing.
he’s sure a few cameras would’ve captured him with you by now, your face clear and beautiful for everyone to see and engrave on their papers and headlines. they’ll adorn you with pretty words and pretty adjectives, and he’ll have to share you with the eyes of the world now. something about it leaves a bitter flavor on his tongue, so he kisses you instead to taste the sweetness of your lips.
“don’t take your eyes off me,” he rasps between the kisses, one hand coming to cradle your jaw while the other hooks around your waist. “look at only me.”
“only you.” you say and sae breathes you in. he leans down closer, lips moving against yours more desperately than ever. he’s pleased with your answer. phantom touches of his hands slithering under your shirt and tracing the skin of your abdomen.
you forget about the match about to start in a mere minutes, about the cameras still desperate to get one glimpse of this very scene, and if you do remember that his teammates would march out any second now— sae makes you forget about everyone else when he tugs on your bottom lip lightly, “afraid? ” he challenges you with a long, languid glide of his tongue, “of what? I’m the only thing on your mind. ”
later when the game ends with the final pass from sae leading to a goal, the camera pans to you sitting in the vip section and cheering for sae and his team. another pans to sae when he notices you on the screen. sae ignores the roars of the crowd, ignores his teammates gathering around him, screaming for their win. he looks at you, waiting intently. you know what he’s asking of you — did you watch? he shifts forward ever so slightly — was i good?
you’re smiling as you mouth a clear I’m so proud of you — and only then does sae feels like he’s won.

take a slice
Summary: No one could imagine a more cunning or manipulative player than Shuntaro Chishiya—until he meets you. complete fic on my ao3 here <3 Word Count: 3.8k Contains: Depictions of violence, unresolved sexual tension, emotional constipation
A/N: because I binge-watched Alice In Borderland in the span of two days and I am very late to the party (but never too late for self-indulgent fan service)
Chishiya spots you across the same floor, your black silhouette nearly lost in the shadows of the night. It’s only your movement that catches his attention, the dark outerwear a sharp contrast to his bright white jacket. You and he are the only players scouting from this vantage point, watching from above while the chaos brews below.
The night is eerily quiet—the calm before the storm, as they say. Your gaze locks onto his, and for a moment, time seems to freeze. Chishiya feels his heartbeat falter, a fleeting hitch he quickly tamps down.
Before he can fully process it, you’ve already vanished around a corner, just as a rain of bullets peppers the area behind you.
A boy’s voice echoes from below, frantic. "The only way to clear this game is to work together!"
Bullshit , you think.
There must be a reason behind the attacker's anchoring position, Chishiya muses.
Of course.
When you finally make your way to the safe room, you’re welcomed by four unfamiliar figures: the spree-killing horse, the brunette boy from earlier, a girl with a bob, and the blonde.
Chishiya strikes swiftly, the crackle of his taser breaking the stillness. The masked attacker crumples to the floor, their face hitting the ground with a muffled thud. You waste no time, stomping down hard on their wrist, sending the gun skittering from their hand. Before they can recover, you grab the weapon and fire a single round into the crown of their skull.
When you glance up, you catch the faintest trace of a smirk ghosting across the blonde’s face, but it’s gone just as quickly.
In the seconds that follow, the two other players in the room hastily slam their hands on the red buttons lining the walls.
GAME COMPLETE. CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS.
Turning around, a pair of wide eyes greets you.
“Thank you,” the boy finally speaks, addressing you and the blonde in a shaky voice.
You respond with a nod, glancing over at the girl and seeing her return the acknowledgement.
“Don’t mention it.” The blonde’s condescending tone from behind you is paralleled only by his burning gaze, locking onto you immediately. He almost misses seeing you slip something from the dead body into your pocket.
You feel his focus linger on you as you leave the room.
The night air is thick with tension, the distant cries from nearby arenas only amplifying the silence with each footstep behind you. You don’t bother turning around; you already know who it is.
Chishiya steps into your peripheral vision, his pace unhurried, like a cat stalking in the shadows. The forest buzzes with the threat of unseen dangers, but all his attention is locked on you.
"You didn’t have to kill him," he says, his voice casual, almost amused, as though discussing the weather.
You don’t stop walking. "You didn’t stop me."
A quiet chuckle escapes him, barely more than a breath. "True." His tone remains light, but there’s an edge beneath it, like he’s testing you, challenging you. "Still, you’ve got a certain efficiency. Impressive."
Your expression stays neutral. And yet, Chishiya’s presence beside you stirs something strange—a shared awareness, as if you’re both circling an invisible boundary neither of you are quite ready to cross—yet.
"You took something," he says, breaking the silence again, his voice calm but probing. His gaze stays forward, unreadable. "From the body."
You glance at him briefly, just enough to meet his eyes, which glint with curiosity under the moonlight. He’s trying to figure you out.
"And what if I did?" There’s a challenge in your voice now.
Chishiya’s smirk returns, faint but unmistakable. "Nothing. For now."
The tension between you tightens, pulling you closer in the silence. The game isn’t over. Not between the two of you.
As you continue walking, he trails behind, but soon loses sight of you in the dense trees. Shadows shift, swallowing you whole. He barely has time to catch his breath before a sudden force slams him to the ground, knocking the wind from his lungs. The disturbed soil and decaying leaves soften his fall, but his back still hits the earth with a solid thud.
Your knee digs sharply into his sternum, pinning him down. One hand tightens around his throat, not enough to choke him but enough to strain his breath. The cold, unforgiving edge of a blade presses against his cheek—a silent threat.
Chishiya’s indifferent expression makes your skin crawl, yet his stoic, unflinching gaze cuts through the moment like a dagger—piercing both hot and cold at once. Neither of you speak. It’s a game of cat and cat, both of you testing the other's resolve in this tense, silent standoff.
For a fleeting moment, he wonders if you can read each other’s thoughts.
You feel him gulp beneath your hand, his pulse quickening under your fingers. Both of his hands remain raised in surrender by his ears, calm, unwavering, and empty of any weapon or defense. His eyes flicker to the deep scar on your neck, lingering there for just a moment.
The air between you thickens. What feels like minutes pass in the span of heartbeats.
Without warning, you spring up and disappear into the night.
Chishiya stays on the ground for a moment, catching his breath. He sits up slowly, eyes tracing the path you took into the darkness. His chest rises and falls unevenly, the phantom cold of the blade still lingering on his skin. Silence wraps around him like a fog, but his pulse betrays him—racing, driven by more than just adrenaline.
For the first time in longer than he can remember, he feels something—a strange tug deep in his core, like something vital slipped away the moment you left. A curiosity stirs, mingling with the remnants of tension, a silent acknowledgment that this game isn’t over.
It’s only just begun.
Chishiya’s lips twitch into a faint smirk. Your piercing gaze and the scar on your neck are seared into his mind. He knows he’ll see you again. And next time, he won’t be caught off guard.
“You look like you have something on your mind.”
Kuina sits down across from Chishiya, her curiosity piqued as she watches him stare off into the distance. The evening air is still, a rare calmness settling over the Beach after a chaotic night.
Chishiya leans back, crossing his arms, a faint hum escaping his lips. “Just an interesting game tonight,” he replies casually, but there’s a lingering spark in his gaze that betrays more.
Kuina raises an eyebrow. “Must’ve been some game, then.”
“Perhaps,” Chishiya says, his voice smooth and unhurried. The rush of endorphins from the near-death experience still thrums faintly through his veins.
The cause? A player whose actions were as cunning and unpredictable as his own. The thrill of narrowing down their motivations felt like a puzzle finally worth solving.
His mind drifts back to the game, replaying each moment like scenes in a movie. The chaos, the desperate shouts, and the blaring alarms all felt distant—mere background noise compared to the razor-sharp focus he'd found himself drawn to. That focus was centered on one person.
You had been an anomaly from the start. There was a precision in the way you moved, calculated and unfazed by the panic unraveling around you. It was as if you thrived on the chaos, embraced it even, letting it fuel each step you took. While the other players were scrambling to find shelter or allies, you seemed to anticipate every move, predicting the patterns before they even unfolded.
And then, the moment that had truly hooked him: the kill. Cold, efficient, and executed without a trace of hesitation. You weren’t just surviving; you were playing the game in its purest form—adapting, evolving, always a step ahead. There was no hesitation in your actions, no unnecessary flourish—just the unyielding will to end a threat. It wasn’t just about self-preservation; it was about winning. And that’s what made you different.
Chishiya’s curiosity flared the instant your eyes met his in the aftermath. For the briefest moment, he’d seen a flicker of something—recognition, maybe even a hint of challenge. Like you were silently asking him if he had what it took to keep up.
It was absurd, really, to feel anything in the Borderlands beyond the mechanical urge to survive. But something had shifted tonight. For the first time in what felt like forever, the game had become more than a series of calculated risks and rewards: it had become interesting.
Chishiya’s gaze shifts back to the window where lights scatter the sky. His fingers tap idly on the armrest of his chair, a rhythm betraying the restlessness he tries to mask. He’s always prided himself on being detached, keeping emotions and sentiment far from his calculations. Yet here he is, preoccupied with thoughts that don't have a place in his carefully constructed logic.
"You're quiet," Kuina observes, her tone carrying a hint of amusement. "More than usual, I mean."
Chishiya’s smirk is faint, barely there. “Am I?”
She shrugs, leaning back in her seat. “You’ve been lost in your own head since you got back.”
Chishiya’s expression doesn’t falter, but there’s a slight shift in his demeanor—a barely perceptible sign of vulnerability, quickly smoothed over. “Maybe I’m just considering... possibilities,” he replies, the words coming slower than usual, as if he’s testing how they sound.
Kuina’s eyes narrow thoughtfully. “Possibilities, huh?” She tilts her head, studying him. “That’s one way of putting it. Or maybe… a person?”
Chishiya’s silence is uncharacteristic. He feels the pull to dismiss the notion immediately, to scoff at the idea of being distracted by a person, much less affected by them. But instead, he pauses. It’s enough for Kuina to catch on, her curiosity piqued.
“Interesting,” she murmurs, a teasing smile curling on her lips. “You’re actually thinking about someone, aren’t you?” When he doesn’t respond, she presses further. “It’s a girl, right? Did she do something to catch your eye?”
Chishiya finally meets her gaze, his own guarded but not entirely dismissive. “She’s... unusual,” he admits, the words coming out almost reluctantly. “Not like the others.”
Kuina arches an eyebrow. “Unusual how? Smart? Dangerous?”
“Both,” he replies without hesitation. “Efficient, focused. But there’s something else.” He uncrosses his arms, feeling oddly exposed, as though admitting to these thoughts makes them more real, more tangible. “It’s like she’s not playing the same game as the rest of them.”
Kuina studies him for a moment, then lets out a soft laugh. “You’ve got it bad,” she says, shaking her head. “I never thought I’d see the day you’d be drawn to someone for more than their utility.”
He scoffs, a ghost of his usual arrogance returning. “Don’t get carried away. I’m only interested because she might be useful.”
“Sure,” Kuina says with a knowing grin. “Keep telling yourself that.”
Chishiya falls silent again, but the truth gnaws at him. He knows it’s more than just her utility in the grand scheme of escaping this hellhole. It’s the way she challenges him—forces him to reevaluate his strategies and makes him wonder if there’s more to this game than just surviving.
He hates how that thought clings to him, even as he tries to push it away.
Chishiya shifts in his chair, feeling a dull ache radiate from his chest. He’s been operating on a different level since encountering you, and the physical reminder feels almost like an anchor to what he’s been trying to navigate.
He glances at Kuina, who’s still watching him with an amused expression, still probing. “You look like you’re plotting something.”
“Just considering my next move,” he replies, a hint of a smirk returning to his lips. “The game is full of variables, and I need to prepare for them.”
“Variables, huh? Is that what you call her now?” Kuina teases, leaning forward, her elbows resting on the table.
“Focus,” he snaps lightly, but there’s no real heat in his voice. Instead, his mind races ahead to the next game, and how he can draw you in, maybe even observe you more closely. He’s already picturing the scenarios—the players, the setting, the stakes.
What he really wants is a way to see you again. To understand the force that pulls him toward you, the complexity that makes you more than just another player. The anticipation churns within him, exciting yet unnerving.
“What if I made a move to recruit her?” he muses aloud, considering the prospect. “She could be an asset. If she operates outside the norm, that could change the dynamics of our strategies.”
“Or it could blow up in your face,” Kuina counters, her tone light but her gaze serious. “You’re not exactly known for your emotionality, Chishiya. What if she doesn’t want to play?”
“Doesn’t matter,” he replies, brushing off her concern. “I’ll figure it out. I always do.”
But the truth is, he knows that this isn’t merely about the game anymore. It’s about the way you make him feel—like a player in a game he thought he understood, now suddenly complex and exhilarating. Chishiya can’t shake the thought that if he wants to unlock the potential you represent, he’ll have to make a move soon.
He allows himself a moment of vulnerability, resting his chin on his hand as he reflects. “What if I want to see her again, Kuina? What if it’s not just about strategy anymore?”
Kuina’s eyes widen, clearly surprised by his admission. “Wow. You’re actually admitting you care.”
Chishiya rolls his eyes but can’t help the smirk tugging at his lips. “Don’t get carried away.”
“Sure,” she says, leaning back with a satisfied grin. “Just remember, sometimes the best strategies are the ones that come from the heart.”
With that, Chishiya’s mind drifts again, calculating and assessing. He’ll be ready for the next game. He’ll be prepared to take any risk to find you again, to unravel the mystery of what you truly are: a partner, a rival, or perhaps something more. As the night draws to a close, the shadows deepen, but a flicker of determination ignites within him.
He will see you again.
A few days have passed since the last game, but the adrenaline still courses through your veins, lingering like a ghost. You survived, but the victory feels hollow, overshadowed by the memory of the indifferent blonde boy who’s drawn you in more than you care to admit.
Your thoughts drift back to that game—its intensity still vivid in your mind. It was like no other you’d experienced, where survival felt more like a dance with death than a struggle against it. And he was at the center of it, moving through the chaos with a calculated grace that caught your attention long before you understood why.
It wasn’t just that he was calm under pressure. Plenty of players had nerves of steel. It was his indifference, the way he seemed detached from the dangers around him, as though nothing could touch him. Where others flinched or panicked, he merely observed, as if the unfolding chaos was a puzzle to solve rather than a life-or-death situation. That kind of control was rare in the Borderlands, and in some strange way, it felt like a dare, an unspoken challenge that made you want to test him, to see if there was anything that could shatter that composure.
You remember the moment you locked eyes across the chaos, the way the world seemed to fade into the background. It was brief, but in that instant, it felt like a silent conversation—an understanding that went beyond words. There was something sharp in his gaze, a spark of curiosity that mirrored your own. It was as if he was evaluating you, sizing you up just as you were doing to him. For a fleeting moment, you wondered if you were seeing a part of yourself reflected back in those cold, calculating eyes.
But it wasn’t just his composure or his gaze that drew you in. It was the way he acted in those crucial seconds when lives hung in the balance. While others scrambled to save themselves, he made moves that seemed almost playful, like he was toying with the danger rather than simply evading it. There was a thrill in watching him maneuver through the madness with an ease that bordered on arrogance, as though he was always three steps ahead of everyone else—including you.
And then there was the moment when the game ended. You had both survived, of course, but there was something in the way he looked at you afterward, something that lingered, a faint smirk that hinted he had seen more than you’d intended to reveal. It wasn’t pity; it was as if he recognized a kindred spirit, someone who understood the game on a different level. For the first time in what felt like ages, you felt truly seen.
That feeling unsettles you even now, as you sit by the fire, staring into the flames. It’s not that you seek validation in the Borderlands; you’ve learned long ago that the only approval that matters is your own. But there’s something about his quiet confidence, the way he seemed to acknowledge you without saying a word, that’s hard to shake. It makes you wonder if he was as unaffected as he appeared or if there was more beneath the surface, something hidden behind that cool exterior.
You clench your jaw, frustrated with yourself for even thinking about him this much. He was just another player—albeit a skilled one—and you’ve dealt with plenty of them before. But there’s a part of you that can’t ignore the way his presence lingers, like a splinter in your mind, a question that refuses to be answered.
Why did he make such an impression on you? Was it his composure, his intelligence, or the quiet thrill of crossing paths with someone who didn’t play by the same rules as everyone else? Or was it the way he seemed to see you in return, as if you were more than just a piece on the board?
You realize that you don’t know the answers—and perhaps that’s what’s most intriguing of all. There’s an unfinished quality to your last encounter, a feeling that your story with him isn’t over yet. It’s as if the game itself has drawn a line between you, daring you to cross it again.
You shake your head, trying to dismiss the thoughts that have become stubborn visitors in your mind. Why does he occupy your thoughts so much? Is it his calm indifference, the way he moved with calculated grace? Or is it something more that stirs a curiosity you can’t quite define?
Pushing the thoughts aside, you focus on your routine, an independent existence in the Borderlands, where survival means mastering skills few have the patience to learn. You've carved out a small camp nestled within the trees, camouflaged by foliage, a sanctuary of sorts amidst the chaos.
Every morning, you rise before dawn, the cool air biting at your skin as you check your traps. The gentle sounds of the forest waking around you are a familiar symphony, one you find solace in. You harvest small game—rabbits, birds, whatever you can catch—and meticulously prepare them, savoring the simple act of cooking over a small fire.
Hunting and foraging have become second nature. You collect wild herbs and edible plants, storing them in makeshift pouches crafted from scavenged materials. Each successful hunt reminds you of your resilience and strength.
But even as you focus on these tasks, your mind drifts back to him—the blonde boy from the game. The way his piercing gaze seemed to see right through you, as if he was calculating your every move. It’s unsettling yet exhilarating, a contradiction you can’t wrap your head around.
The sun climbs higher, and you take a break from your chores to wash your hands in a nearby stream, the water refreshing against your skin. As you splash your face, you catch your reflection in the rippling surface, a mix of determination and uncertainty staring back at you.
You spend the afternoon working on camp, reinforcing the makeshift walls and clearing away debris that threatens your space. But even as you work to distract yourself, you can almost feel his presence lurking at the edge of your thoughts, his smirk dancing on your mind like a memory that refuses to fade.
Eventually, you settle on a log outside your camp, a piece of driftwood you dragged from the riverbank. Pulling out your small notebook, you begin to sketch the maps of the Borderlands, noting down resources and potential hideouts. It’s practical, a way to keep your mind sharp, but each mark on the page feels like a tether to the games, to the players who dance around you like shadows.
You reach into your pocket and pull out the small, crumpled piece of paper you took from the body during the game. You’ve looked at it countless times since then, trying to make sense of the chaotic scribbles. It’s a series of numbers and symbols—coordinates, perhaps, or some kind of code. Whatever it is, it’s not immediately clear, and that only deepens your curiosity.
You flatten the paper against the rough surface of the log, comparing it with your sketches. Could it be a location in the Borderlands? A clue to something hidden or an upcoming game? The patterns don’t align with any familiar maps, but something about the markings feels deliberate, as though there’s a message buried within them. You trace the lines with your finger, committing them to memory, trying to see what the original owner had seen. What was so important that they’d die with it?
Your mind drifts back to the moment you took it. The blonde boy’s eyes had flickered towards you—just for a heartbeat—when you pocketed the paper. Did he know what it meant, or had he noticed the same curiosity in you that you now feel?
As you draw, memories of the game resurface: his calculated moves, his indifferent demeanor, and the strange thrill of standing against him. There’s something magnetic about his presence, something that both fascinates and frustrates you.
In the fading light of dusk, you close your eyes for a moment, letting the sounds of the forest wash over you. The call of distant birds, the rustle of branches—each note a reminder that you’re alive, that you’re here, navigating a world filled with peril and unpredictability. But still, the thought lingers. Will your paths cross in the next game, or will you remain a ghost in his memory?
With a sigh, you shake your head and return to your sketches, determination settling in your chest. It doesn’t matter. Yet, in the depths of your mind, a part of you yearns for that inevitable meeting, that chance to unravel the enigma that is the blonde boy.
As darkness settles over the forest, you tuck your notebook away, the images of your maps a promise of the journey ahead. Tomorrow will bring new challenges, new games to navigate. And if fate has its way, perhaps it will also bring him back into your orbit once more.

a/n: this is written for @jolapeno 's “april showers challenge 2.0” Thank you for this 2nd edition, Jo 😘❤️ thank you @aurorawritestoescape as always for beta-ing me, you're a sweetheart and ily 💕🫶 dividers @/saradika-graphics 🙏
Joel left for patrol three days ago, and it'd been raining ever since. It was rare to rain that much and you could only imagine how tired and weary he would be when he was going to be back.
Several times you asked him to schedule less patrols or make them shorter. He was in charge of planning them yet never went easy on himself. He knew your concern and addressed it as best he could, reassuring you, but still didn’t change the schedule. He saw himself responsible for all the patrollers, responsible for Jackson's safety. It didn't matter that he was tired, that his back hurt more and more, that his limbs were strained. He was stubborn, and you knew you would have a hard time convincing him to earnestly consider the issue.
You also knew that he wanted to give Tommy, Maria and their baby Benjamin as much time together as possible. He wasn't assigning his brother to long patrols at the moment, and very few patrols in general.
He often patrolled with Jessie, sometimes with Ellie—for shorter patrols—now that he'd agreed to let her out of Jackson.
You knew how much it cost him. The look he gave her was always overflowing with tenderness and fatherly protection. He loved her as if she were his second daughter, and when you met them, a few weeks after you found refuge in Jackson, you told yourself that the dangerous and somehow lost world still had beautiful things to offer.
You thought about it in the afternoon as you were making coffee, hoping Joel would be home soon. You managed to trade some with new arrivals, and you knew that Joel would find comfort in it after a hard patrol.
You had just poured yourself a cup, warming your hands by holding the mug, looking out at the street through the window, when you finally saw him. Hunched shoulders, heavy, dragging steps, he was returning from the stable after having left his horse there. Your heart sank at the sight of him, visibly exhausted, his body stiff with pain. But you were relieved to see him back. The days, and worse, the nights without him, gnawed at you with worry, as you imagined the worst. But he always came back.
You were waiting for him at the doorstep, wondering when the rain would stop. Joel looked up as he approached the house and smiled when he saw you. He climbed the steps and you hugged him - not too tightly, already anticipating him wincing in pain. He slid his arms around your waist, his coat and clothes soaked, but you didn't care. He smelled of leather, of wood, of him.
“Hey, baby,” you murmured against his neck, brushing his skin with your nose.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he replied, cradling your head with his hand, pressing you against his chest.
You stepped back and stood aside to let him in, then closed the door behind him. He sat down in a chair, and took off his muddy, soaked shoes.
“Is that… coffee?” he asked suddenly, eyes wide as he was sniffing the air in the room.
“It is.” You smiled and handed him a cup of the steaming beverage. “A little embarrassed as to what I had to trade to get it, but… it’s not bad.”
“I bet it’s perfect,” he murmured, his voice full of gratitude diving straight into your veins. He hummed when he brought the cup to his nose and breathed in the scent.
“Oh, christ, it’s perfect. The best smell in the world.” He sipped on it, then added “and the best taste in the world,” looking up at you, a smirk on his face.
“Oh, really? Three little days away and you’re already praising coffee over me?”
He chuckled and you kissed his forehead.
“Ok, time to shower, sassy boy.”
Those last months, whenever he returned from a long patrol, you would shower together. You loved to wash the exhaustion off his body, to roll the muscles of his neck and shoulders under your fingers, before untying those on his back. It was a moment you both loved, tender and sweet, in the privacy of your home. A moment different from the nights, when the fatigue would finally leave his body.
Joel couldn't help but pull you against him, as your fingers had already taken some of his pain away. He nuzzled your neck and you tried not to lose yourself in his touch, even though your moans betrayed you.
“Be good,” you told him and he grumbled,
“I am. Haven’t fucked you yet, have I?”
He flashed his eyebrows at you and it made you laugh.
You had a quick dinner then went to bed. A content sigh he exhaled as he lay back on the bed made you smile. Clean sheets were always waiting for him when he came back from a long patrol, and you knew how much he appreciated your care. Within seconds, he was already asleep. You placed your hand on his forearm, to prove to yourself that he was really there, and fell asleep, too.
The rain drumming against your bedroom window woke you up during the night. For a second, your heart sank with worry for Joel, forgetting that he had come home the day before, and you turned to his side of the bed. He was sleeping peacefully, facing you, a light snore leaving his lips. His hand was half-tucked under the pillow, his face relaxed, the crease in his forehead barely visible. You smiled as you watched him. Your man was there, at home, safe.
You always missed him a lot when he was gone. You had never thought you'd find love after the apocalypse, find someone you aligned with on every level. Until you had found Joel, and he had found you.
His body radiated its usual warmth and your thoughts drifted, your lower abdomen craving him. You missed him, missed his whole body, but you wanted to let him rest.
You slipped your hand into your panties and closed your eyes, imagining his hands and lips on you, his thick cock inside you. You bit your lip to keep you from moaning when you came. It was not even close to the brightness of a climax he usually gave you, but you didn’t want to wake him up. Your breathing slowly returned to normal.
“You're beautiful when you come.”
You opened your eyes suddenly, hearing his low, warm voice, and your head snapped to him. His hand still under the pillow, he hadn't moved an inch, except for his eyes were now fully open, a smile curving his lips. You felt heat reach your cheeks under his gaze.
“And you look even prettier when you're all shy for me,” he said as his hand left the coolness of the sheets for the warmth of your body when he’d pushed his finger in your heat before sucking on it.
“Mmm, sweetheart… I missed ya.”
“Oh, really? I thought the best taste in the world was coffee?” you said playfully, even though the sight of him licking his fingers was making your pussy drip again.
“Are you jealous of coffee, baby?”
“I’m jealous of everything when it comes to you,” you pouted.
“Can relate to that,” he chuckled before adding, “well… I think I was thrilled about the coffee. It's been a long time, you know.”
He pushed the sheets away and you shuddered when his calloused fingers brushed against your skin.
“Thrilled? Yeah…Yeah, I understand. Because when I saw this man, newly arrived in Jackson, I was thrilled too, when I traded coffee with him.”
You fought your best to suppress a smile that tried to twist your lips at his reaction. The way he stopped caressing your skin. How his eyes darkened and locked with yours.
You figured out pretty quickly that Joel was a possessive man. He liked to show everyone you were his, his hand usually resting on the small of your back, or his arm around your shoulders, at the Tipsy Bison or in the streets of Jackson.
And you loved it.
You craved it.
You'd lived for too long in qzs or in the wild with no protection other than your own, without love. So you always pressed yourself to him in those moments, relishing his broadness, his strength, his masculine scent. Eager to be drunk on him. That was one of the reasons why every time he went on patrol, it was so hard for you to be on your own, even in the safety of Jackson's compound.
“Is that so?” he gruffed, placing his hand against your cunt, and you spread your legs to let him settle in with the full width of his palm.
His middle finger slid along your soaked folds, and you were already moaning.
“Why were you thrilled baby?” he asked in a dangerously low voice.
“Because he had coffee?” you answered, still playfully, but not as much as a few seconds before, distracted by the way your skin shivered under his touch.
His palm rubbed against your clit, while another digit joined his middle one, moving in and out of your core.
“Was that man alone when he came to Jackson?”
“No, shit… no, there were t- two of them. Two… two men.”
“Mmm… your type?” he asked before leaning forward and spitting on your drooling pussy.
“Oh, fuck! I guess...”
He paused for a few moments and grabbed his stiff shaft for some release, mumbling, before fingering you again.
“You guess?”
“They're quite nice to look at. Broad, in their 50s. I- fuck! I think I have a type.”
And then he growled. It was animalistic, as he pumped you harder, and you felt another climax building.
“What did you trade for that coffee? Why was it embarrassing?”
You could have stopped playing right there. Let him make you come and then lie between your thighs to push himself into your warmth. But you wanted to tease him a little more. Because even though you both knew it was just a game and you both loved your banter, that became one of your love languages, the way you showed your connection to each other, you loved to see that side of him. Feral, possessive. Jealous.
So no, you couldn't stop there.
"I'm not sure you'll like it, Joel."
He stopped again, scrutinizing you. Resisting his urge to keep fingering you, to make you come, to hear your little moans grow louder.
“Oh, baby girl… You’re treading on some mighty thin ice here,” he murmured, leaning forward to breathe on your neck, his fingers buried inside you.
“Really?” you breathed.
He pushed his fingers back, then pushed in "what," back "did you," in "trade," and back "to get it?" You were rolling your hips towards his hand, fingers clenching at the sheets.
He stopped again.
“Fuck, Joel! I was close, please, baby…”
“Mmm?” He smirked, and suddenly began moving them hard and fast, his wrist firm and sure, until you squirted, your hand wrapped around his wrist, his name on your lips.
“That’s it, say my name, baby. Let all the neighbors know that I’m home, taking care of my girl.”
“Joel…,” you whined.
“Yeah? Such a good girl, squirting all over my hand. Ruining the clean sheets. That easy for me, huh?”
He lay between your thighs, spreading them with his knee and pushed his whole length into your wet pussy in one go.
“Jesus, I missed you, baby. Missed this cunt.”
“I missed you too, baby,” you whimpered.
“Mmm”, he murmured, fucking you hard and deep, before slowing down his pace.
“So, what did you trade?” he added with a smirk “and stop bullshiting me.”
You sighed, then replied, “soaps.”
He straightened up, balls deep in you, face down towards yours. “Soaps? My soaps?”
You rolled your eyes before smiling. Joel had a bunch of soaps at home. Probably because he had lacked that luxury for some time, especially when he had travelled the country with Ellie. Now he always smelled like soap.
“Yeah, a few of them. But now you can drink coffee, you know? Your favorite everything in the world,” you added, pouting exaggeratedly.
He smiled and leaned down, kissing your nose then your lips, before rolling his hips towards you deliciously. You wrapped your legs around his waist, crossing your feet on his back to feel him deeper.
“Did you miss me?” you asked as you brushed his cheeks.
You knew he did, but your heart needed to hear him say it, as he thrust into you, filling you perfectly like only he could.
“Every second, baby girl.”
He kissed you and his tongue licked at your lips, asking silently to open up for him. Your tongues danced against each other, softly at first, until the need overwhelmed both of you. Your gaze darkened.
“Show me how much,” you murmured.
He watched you carefully, noticing how your eyes expressed what you needed, and nodded.
He pulled out and flipped you over, so quickly that you barely had time to understand what happened.
He pulled your hips back, angling your ass toward him and spanked you once, sharply, before pressing his tip at your entrance.
“You wanna know how much I missed you?” he huffed.
“Yes, please, Joel,” you answered, your cheek resting against the pillow. Pliant.
“Alright.”
He pushed in. Hard and deep. His thick cock spread your folds and you whined, full of him. He seized your hips and his fingers dug in your skin, as he set a heavy pace.
“So now, baby,” he groaned, his jaw clenched, “tell me who you belong to.”
“You,” you whined.
“And that cunt?”
“You! All yours, Joel.”
He slowed down, pushing in and out so slowly it was almost painful. You wanted to feel him raw and hard, wanted him to pierce your core.
“Is that so? Seems to me you weren't so sure. With all the men around.”
“I'm sure. Oh god! I'm yours, Joel.”
You slid your hand to your clit and started rubbing it, but he slapped your wrist and you whined.
He spanked you again, twice, making you clench on his shaft.
“Fuck, you’re squeezing me fucking hard, baby,” he said, seizing your hips tightier. “ ‘m not sure I'm gonna let you come. Not sure you deserve to come on this cock, since you're that ungrateful, baby.”
You could feel the smirk on his face, without even seeing it. He was the one teasing now, the one in control, and you loved every second of it.
“Mine?”
“Yours.”
“Yeah, that's it. That's all I wanna hear. Come for me, baby. Squeeze that cock. Squeeze it so hard that I won’t be able to pull out. Will have to cum inside you.”
He gave you the rhythm you needed, hard, deep, jackhammering your cunt without mercy. His grunts echoing in the room. You rubbed your swollen clit and came, finally reaching a release, your walls clenching around his shaft so hard that he whimpered.
“Shit, baby,” he growled, fucking you deep, so deep that you clutched the pillow, your head hitting the headboard, before he stuffed you back fully with his cock.
“One day… fuck! One day I won't pull out. Will pump you full of my cum,” he growled. You felt his cock twitch inside you before he pulled out, just in time to stroke his shaft twice and shoot his load against your inner thighs.
“Shit… you're driving me crazy,” he said, kissing the spot on your ass where he spanked you, then grabbed a towel from the nightstand and wiped his release off your skin. He kissed the small of your back and rolled you over and held you close.
“God, I love when you're jealous,” you smiled as you kissed him.
“Hmm, I can see that. You’re playing some dangerous games.” His big hands brushed your back and he pulled you to him before kissing your forehead.
“Dangerous?” you teased. “I got you exactly where I wanted.” You peppered kissed over his chest that still smelled like soap.
“Oh, I know. You got me wrapped around your pretty finger.”
You giggled and quickly fell asleep in his arms.
You woke up when you felt him move slightly against you. The bedroom was filled with sunlight.
“ ‘morning, baby. Look at that, it poured for three days, I came back home and now there's not a cloud in sight. You're my rainbow in this world, sweetheart.”
You looked at him, gaze full of love, and murmured, “you're gonna make my heart melt, baby.”
“Yeah, I bet it already is. Pretty proud of myself on that one,” he smiled, his dimple cute on his cheek.
“Well… If you patrolled less, you would see your rainbow more, you know...” you grinned.
“Oh, I see what you're doing, little minx,” he laughed, until a serious expression appeared on his face. “Alright, I'm gonna think about it, ok? Maybe free my schedule up a little.”
“Oh my god, really, baby?”
“Yeah, I'm too old anyway.”
“Old? You fucked me like crazy last night. But! Ok ok, forget I just said that. Yeah, you're too old for patrol, sure.”
He laughed and gripped your hips.
“Now, come sit on my face. Wanna make sure the neighbors get the message loud and clear, just like at night.”

an experiment (18+)
hey, could you write a story like the one you reposted of max ”popular“ but for lando? I absolutely loved the plot and never saw one like that before, but don’t feel pressured! thank you<3
A/N: Didn’t want to do the exact same plot but did the same kind of reporter x Lando vibe where they don’t like each other.
Lando Norris x Reporter!Reader
The media room was bustling with reporters, and your eyes were trained on Oscar Piastri as he answered the question you had just asked him, nodding along.
“So you’re not worried about team orders, then?” you asked to confirm, and he shot you a grin.
“We’re only 20 points apart, so no,” he replied, and you smiled, turning off your recorder. “Good to see you, Y/N. When are you coming to an overseas race?”
The other reporters around left as you stayed behind to talk to Oscar. “Not really sure. I’m mostly covering IndyCar this year. I’m only here today because our F1 beat reporter caught some kind of bug.”
You had covered F1 for ESPN last year and had a blast doing it, but the travel was a lot. When the chance came up to switch to IndyCar, you took it, wanting to stay in the U.S., where you were from. You did miss the F1 drivers, though. You had a good working relationship with all of them—well, except one.
You and Lando got off on the wrong foot last year, and things never really recovered. You asked him a simple question, and he bit your head off. Instead of folding, you challenged him and called him an asshole to his face, so things were a little testy after that.
You glanced up from your notes, keeping your expression neutral as Lando approached. “Norris.”
He sighed, barely looking at you. “Let’s just get this over with.”
You ignored his tone, pressing the record button. “You had a solid P2 in practice. Do you feel confident heading into qualifying, or are there still issues you need to address?”
Lando shrugged, crossing his arms. “Car’s fine. We’ll see what happens.”
You blinked, waiting for him to elaborate. When he didn’t, you pressed on. “McLaren has been closing the gap to Red Bull in recent races. Do you think this track gives you a real opportunity to challenge for the win?”
He exhaled sharply. “You lot love asking the same pointless questions every weekend, don’t you?”
You kept your voice even. “I’m asking because fans and analysts are genuinely curious about McLaren’s trajectory. If you’d rather not answer, I can move on.”
Lando let out a humorless laugh. “Right, because you’re just here for the ‘fans and analysts’—not to pick apart every word I say.”
Your grip on your pen tightened, but you refused to take the bait. “I’m here to report, Norris. What I’m not here to do is argue with you.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” he muttered.
You inhaled slowly, keeping your professionalism intact. “Alright. Final question—realistically, where do you see yourself finishing this weekend?”
Lando gave you a flat look. “Ahead of where you think I will.”
You held his gaze for a moment before calmly closing your notebook. “Noted. Thanks for your time.”
He scoffed. “Yeah. Sure.”
You watched as he walked off without another word, then sighed, shutting off your recorder. Interviews with Lando Norris were always a test of patience—but at least this time, you hadn’t given him the satisfaction of a reaction.
“Y/N!” You heard Carlos call out, and you instantly brightened. He was one of your favorites on the grid, and you truly missed him this season.
“Hi, Carlos,” you said, walking next to him as you were both leaving the pen. “How are you?”
“I’m good. How are you? Still beefing with Lando, I see,” he teased, and you rolled your eyes.
“He’s such a pain in the ass,” you muttered, and he let out a loud laugh.
“Please, the tension between the two of you—nothing like it,” he said, and you stopped short, giving him an incredulous look.
“What on earth are you talking about?” you asked, and he grinned.
“There are literally three different bets I know of on when you guys will get together,” he said, amused, and your eyes narrowed.
“I don’t even cover F1 races anymore,” you said.
He shrugged, holding the door open for you.
"That doesn't matter," Carlos said with a mischievous grin. "The sparks between you two are undeniable. Even from across the pond."
You scoffed, shaking your head. "You're delusional, Sainz. There's nothing between Lando and me except mutual disdain."
Carlos raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Then why does he always ask about you when you're not around?"
You froze mid-step, turning to face him. "He... what?"
"Oh, yes," Carlos nodded, clearly enjoying this. "He tries to be subtle about it, but we all notice. 'Has anyone heard from Y/N?' 'Is Y/N covering this race?' It's quite amusing, actually."
You were about to argue when you caught sight of Lando across the paddock, talking to his race engineer. For a brief moment, his eyes met yours, and you felt a simmer of the electricity Carlos was talking about. Lando looked from you to Carlos and frowned, looking away.
“Whatever, Carlos. I’ll see you tomorrow,” you said, dismissing him as you headed to where your car was, thinking about what he said.
Lando was an asshole to you. That was a fact. But there were things that were off: he always took your questions first, his eyes lingered on you from across the room—almost always—and you could tell how irritated he was anytime you were talking casually with another driver.
Pair that with the fact that your boss had asked if you wanted to be moved last season to cover a different team, to which you replied no because there was just something so exciting about getting under his skin. You always had a thing for guys like him, and it didn’t really help that he was as hot as he was.
You were still irritated as you got back to your apartment and quickly texted your group chat, begging to have a girls' night out. Luckily, most of your friends were free, and one of them snagged a last-minute reservation at a place nearby.
A couple of hours later, you were two drinks in, laughing about one of your friend’s most recent Hinge horror stories. Smiling, your eyes wandered around the room, landing on a very familiar mullet.
“You have got to be fucking kidding me,” you muttered, and your friends looked at you and then over to where you were looking. Grace was the first to laugh.
“You two are truly like magnets. Carlos was right,” she said. You shot her a pointed look. They all knew about your disdain for Lando, and you had told them what Carlos had said, hoping they’d back you up about it being ridiculous, but they had all agreed with him.
At the attention of all your friends, Lando’s friends looked over at the table, some of them smiling widely when they recognized you. It didn’t take long for one of them to come sauntering over.
“Hey, ladies,” he said. “We’re about to wrap up and would love if you guys joined us at the next bar.”
“No,” you said at the same time that your friends said, “Yes.” You groaned, putting your head into your hands.
After paying your bill, you reluctantly followed your friends out and to the next bar. Lando and his friends were hanging out on the patio, and they were excited to see your group make it. Lando smiled at all your friends, introducing himself, but then narrowed his eyes when he got to you. You rolled your eyes, muttering that you needed a drink, and walked off.
You leaned against the bar, waiting for the bartender's attention. The night air was cool on your skin, a welcome relief from the stuffy atmosphere inside. You couldn't believe your luck—or lack thereof. Of all the places in the city, Lando and his crew had to end up at the same spot as you and your friends.
"Fancy seeing you here," a familiar voice said behind you. You didn’t need to turn around to know it was Lando.
"I could say the same to you," you replied, keeping your eyes on the bartender. "Shouldn't you be resting up for qualifying tomorrow?"
Lando moved to stand beside you, effortlessly flagging down the bartender. "I could ask you the same thing. Aren’t you supposed to be covering the race?"
You finally turned to face him, crossing your arms. "I'm allowed to have a life outside of my job."
"So am I," he said, mirroring you.
"You sure about that?" you asked, tilting your head. "Because the way you act, it seems like your entire personality revolves around racing and being a pain in my ass."
Lando chuckled, shaking his head as he took a sip of his drink. "You love it, though."
You scoffed. "I tolerate it."
He stepped closer, just enough that you could feel the warmth of his body in the cool night air. "You tolerate me? Interesting. Because from where I’m standing, you go out of your way to get under my skin."
You arched a brow. "Funny, I was about to say the same about you."
Lando’s gaze flickered to your lips for a fraction of a second before meeting your eyes again. "Maybe we just enjoy the game too much."
You refused to be the first to look away. "Or maybe you just hate that I don’t fall for your usual charm."
His smirk deepened. "Who said I was trying to charm you?"
"Oh, please," you scoffed, taking a slow sip of your drink. "The lingering stares? The petty jabs? The way you just so happened to end up at the same bar as me tonight?"
Lando leaned in, his voice dropping just enough to send a shiver down your spine. "Maybe I just like watching you get all worked up."
You swallowed hard, suddenly too aware of the way your pulse quickened. "Keep dreaming, Norris."
He smirked, stepping back just enough to let you breathe but not enough to break the tension crackling between you. "Sweet dreams, then, Y/N."
And just like that, he walked away. But before he could get far, you yanked his arm to turn him around and crashed your lips against his.
The kiss was electric, a charged collision of all the tension that had been building between you for months. Lando's surprise quickly melted away as he responded with equal fervor, his hands finding your waist and pulling you closer. The world around you blurred as you lost yourself in the sensation of his lips moving against yours.
When you finally broke apart, both slightly breathless, you found yourselves staring at each other with a mix of shock and desire. The background noise of the bar slowly filtered back in, reminding you of where you were.
"Well," Lando said, his voice husky. "That was..."
"A mistake," you finished, even as your body screamed otherwise. You took a step back, trying to regain your composure. "An experiment."
"An experiment," he repeated. "And what exactly was the hypothesis?"
"I’m shocked you know that word," you said, avoiding the question.
"Y/N," he warned.
"A mutual friend hypothesized that the way we act toward each other was because of something other than hatred," you admitted, thankful that you were on drink number four now.
"And the conclusion?" he asked, tipping his head curiously.
"Inconclusive," you said, and his eyes flickered back down to your lips for a second.
"Probably need more testing," he said darkly, and your pulse quickened.
"Probably," you agreed, not breaking eye contact.
"Let’s go," he said, grabbing your hand and pulling you toward the exit.
"I just got my drink," you complained, but made no move to stop him.
His hotel was only a couple of blocks away. That was the only thing he said the whole walk over, but his hand gripped yours tightly.
By the time you made it to his floor, his pace quickened, like he didn’t want to give you a chance to change your mind. The door opened, then closed, and suddenly you were pressed against it, his lips on your neck.
It lasted a minute before you gripped his hair, yanking his head back so you could press your lips against his.
The kiss was rough and demanding, both of you fighting each other with something other than words this time. He tugged at the bottom of your shirt, and you lifted it up, watching his eyes widen at your bare chest.
Lando's eyes darkened with desire as he took in the sight of you. His hands skimmed up your sides, leaving goosebumps in their wake. You shivered under his touch, your breath catching in your throat.
"God, you're beautiful," he murmured, his voice low and husky.
You rolled your eyes, trying to maintain some semblance of your usual dynamic. "Shut up and kiss me, Norris."
He smirked, clearly enjoying your impatience. "So demanding," he teased, but obliged, capturing your lips in another searing kiss.
Your hands roamed his body, tugging at his shirt until he broke the kiss just long enough to pull it over his head. The feeling of skin on skin was intoxicating, and you couldn't help the small moan that escaped you as he pressed you further against the door.
His hands trailed down from your waist, past the loose band of your pants and under your panties. He lightly traced over your clit before moving to where you wanted him.
“So wet baby, are you sure you hate me?” He teased as you moaned out.
“Positive,” you got out before he slipped a finger inside, finding your g-spot and massaging it.
Your head fell back against the door as Lando worked his fingers inside you, his thumb circling your clit with maddening precision. But you weren't about to let him have all the control. With a sudden surge of strength, you pushed off the door, forcing him to stumble backwards towards the bed.
"My turn," you growled, shoving him onto the mattress. Lando's eyes widened in surprise, but the smirk never left his face as you straddled him.
"Thought you hated me," he teased, his hands gripping your hips.
You ground down against him, relishing the groan that escaped his lips. "I do," you breathed. "This is simply an experiment."
Your fingers made quick work of his belt and zipper, freeing his hardening length. Lando hissed as you wrapped your hand around him, pumping slowly up and down.
“Don’t tease,” he grumbled and you smiled wickedly at him, swiping your thumb over his head causing him to whimper. The noise took you both by surprise and you knew he was embarrassed.
“I thought you hated me,” you threw his own words back at him. “But it sounds like you don’t.”
He started to argue back but you quickly shifted your hips, slowly sinking down on top of him.
You both gasped as you fully pushed him inside you, the sensation overwhelming. For a moment, you stayed still, adjusting to the feel of him stretching you. Lando's hands tightened on your hips, his eyes dark with desire as he looked up at you.
"Fuck, y/n," he breathed, voice strained. "You feel amazing."
Instead of responding, you began to move, setting a slow, torturous pace. Lando's head fell back against the pillows, a low moan escaping him. You couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph at reducing him to this state.
"Look at me," you commanded, voice husky. His eyes snapped to yours, pupils blown wide. "I want you to see exactly who's making you feel this good."
Lando's lips curled into a smirk, even as his breathing grew ragged. His fingers dug harshly into your waist and he started to move you faster against him and you groaned out.
Lando suddenly sat up, wrapping his arms around you and flipping you onto your back in one fluid motion. The change in position drove him even deeper inside you, eliciting a gasp of pleasure. His eyes locked onto yours, blazing with intensity.
"My turn," he growled, echoing your earlier words.
He hooked one of your legs over his shoulder, the new angle allowing him to hit spots that made you see stars. His thrusts were deep and purposeful, each one drawing out a moan or whimper from your lips. You clutched at his back, nails digging into his skin as the pleasure built.
Lando's lips found your neck, kissing and nipping at the sensitive skin there. The dual sensation of his mouth on your throat and his cock inside you was almost too much to bear. You arched your back, pressing your chest against his as he continued his assault on your pussy.
"God, you feel incredible," he panted, his rhythm faltering slightly as he fought to maintain control. "So tight, so perfect for me."
Your back arched off the bed as he hit a deeper angle and your climax crashed over you. He sounded animalistic as his own release was triggered, spilling into you.
The two of you breathed heavily for a moment looking at each other. Finally you pushed yourself off the bed and headed into the bathroom to pee and clean yourself off. When you returned, Lando was leaning against he headboard watching you as you put your clothes back on.
“Leaving?” He asked.
“Yes,” you replied, finally looking at him. “This was just an experiment remember, it wasn’t real.”
“I remember,” he said, still watching. “You could stay.”
“I have never in my life stayed over for a one night stand,” you said. You don’t know why you told him that, he didn’t need to know anything about your personal life.
“Are you serious?” He asked, shocked.
“Very.”
Lando's eyes widened at your admission. "Never? Not even once?"
You shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant as you slipped on your shoes. "Never saw the point. It's called a one-night stand for a reason."
He sat up straighter, the sheet pooling around his waist. "But what about... I don't know, cuddling? Or morning sex?"
You couldn't help but laugh. "Cuddling? With you? Please."
"Hey, I'll have you know I'm an excellent cuddler," he protested, a hint of a smile playing at his lips.
You rolled your eyes, but found yourself hesitating by the door. "Look, Norris, this was... satisfying. But let's not make it more than it was."
Lando's expression sobered. "And what exactly was it, y/n.”
“An experiment,” you said again, leaving before he had a chance to ask what the result was.

𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆 - 𝒑𝒕. 2
five hargreeves x reader
word count: 1.7k
part one. part two. part three. main masterlist.
summary: after you discovered a deli full of alternate versions of your cheating husband, you realize they would never hurt you the way he did. once he finds you getting comfortable with another version of him, you'll have to work together to figure out how to save the world.
authors note: thank you so much for all the notes on part one! i appreciate it so much since i thought no one would ever see it. here's the highly requested part two, enjoy!

You could tell it was him right away. Your Five had burst into the deli like he was crashing a wedding. When you walked in, every Five had a look of awe displayed across his face, but now that look was replaced with anger and disappointment.
You could tell Five had shrunk a bit under the gaze of his counterparts yet he firmly walked over to the booth where you were sitting with the new Five that you had been talking to. He had a shameful look in his eye yet held a stoic visage. Glancing down at your gentle hands still firmly held in the palms of the other Five, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked between the two of you.
“What- what is this?” He scoffed in an annoyed manner, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing yet somehow he knew exactly what was happening.
The Five across from you gently released your hands as his eye twitched and he stood up and faced your Five. Even though they were both exactly the same height, you could tell they were challenging each other by standing up a little straighter, your Five standing slightly on his toes.
New Five had an angry clench in his jaw yet held a slight smirk. He addressed your Five in a low tone, “You must be a fluke if you think you can just apologize and win her back because there’s not a single Five in this room that would hurt her the way you did.”
You looked up at the two of them from your seat in the booth. You hadn’t mentioned how your Five had hurt you, what he’d done to lose you. How could this Five have known? Still however, you appreciated his defense. You had always thought it’d be pathetic to see two guys fight over you, but to see two versions of the same man, one who has hurt and wronged you and the other who holds an unconditional and undying love for you, it ignited a spark in you that you thought you’d never feel again in your existence.
Existence.
Once the new Five finished his sentence you could see the offense on your Five’s face as he prepared a rebuttal but you shut that down quickly.
“Enough,” you held a hand out as if to break the aggressive tension between them, “this is irrelevant. We need to discuss a plan.”
Your Five took this as an opportunity to occupy the seat next to you in the booth but new Five beat him to it by pulling him back by the arm and sliding in next to you, as well as placing a hand on your thigh.
Your Five was taken aback by the action yet quickly regained his composure as he settled into the seat across from the two of you.
Waiter Five stopped by once again to drop off another mug of coffee for your Five as well as to top of your mug and Five’s. You thanked him and took a sip as he waltzed away with a wink. You watched as your Five took a sip from his mug which he immediately spit back out. The deli of Fives erupted in laughter as both you and your Five looked around confused.
The Five sitting next to you whispered an explanation in your ear, stating that Waiter Five had poured a couple of salt packets into his coffee rather than sugar. You grinned and hid your laugh in the shoulder of the Five next to you, him still facing you, your foreheads nearly touching. Your Five watched with a heartache as he dabbed his mouth with a napkin and set it back down on the table.
The laughter had mostly died down, excluding a very sloshed and disheveled looking Five who continued to chuckle and hiccup while leaning against a door.
You were still leaning slightly onto the Five next to you as he spoke, “So I take it you figured out the subway system by now”
“Alternate versions of the same moment in time?” Five asked.
“Correct,” the other Five responded, “We’re all you from alternate timelines. Most of us here have given up on trying to fix the broken timeline.”
Your Five listened with a befuddled look on his face and before he could question the words of the Five before him, you piped up an explanation, “It’s us who shattered the original timeline.”
“Thank you, dear,” said the Five next to you as he brought an arm around your shoulder. You couldn’t tell if he was being this affectionate because he really missed his y/n or because he could see how badly it was ticking your Five off but either way you wanted to play along, leaning into his affection.
He broke your gentle eye contact to once again address the Five glaring at you both.
“The timeline was shattered the moment we came into existence, leaving us with an infinite number of alternate timelines in an infinite loop of trying to save the world,” he said in a tired voice.
You took a moment to really look at him, he looked so exhausted.
So did your timeline’s Five.
So did Drunk Five, Waiter Five, and Brisket Five.
Sure they looked content in the deli, as it was their place to escape, but the tired looks in their eyes really showed how hard they had tried and how worn out it made them.
You didn’t realize it but you were staring so deeply into the eyes of your timeline’s Five. With such a soft look he thought would never come his way again. You felt sorry for him. You really did but there is nothing that could excuse everything he did. Nothing could excuse the betrayal and heartbreak he caused you. That was his fault and he would have to deal with every ounce of guilt and shame that accompanied him in his downfall.
His eyes met yours, the green shining with sorrow as he attempted to convey all his feelings through his irises. You both knew your relationship would never be the same, even if you survived the Cleanse. There was just too much that couldn’t be undone.
You broke the connection first, turning away to look at the tiled floor of the deli instead.
Your Five continued to look at you.
Your eyes. Your hair.
He never could’ve loved Lila like he loved you, how could he have thrown you away so easily?
His love for you was what kept his fire burning all these years. His love for you ignited his passion for saving the world, just so you could live safely.
Just so you could live without surviving on cockroaches or the roof of a crumbling library.
Just so you could live without having to kill in fear of being killed.
Just so you could live a happy and comfortable life, even if it no longer meant a life with him.
You clenched your jaw in thought before turning to the Five next to you, “What can we do? I mean, there has to be a way out of this.”
He looked at you with an answer he was sure you wouldn’t like, “The only way this cycle will end is if you cease to exist. You have to let the marigold combine with the durango in the Cleanse.”
You raised a brow, “Just the marigold?”
Five looked at you confused, “Yes, the marigold infected our mothers the moment the timeline was shattered.”
“So it’s not actually us that’s the problem?” You waved your finger in a circle, gesturing to yourself, Five, and his absent siblings.
“Technically not,” Five confirmed.
You leaned back into the seat as Five returned his arm to his side. You bit your lip as you tried to remember anything that might help you come up with a plan, then it hit you.
Viktor.
You remember how he told everyone that when he lived on the farm back in Dallas, he saved Harlan, the little boy who drowned in the lake, by giving him some of his marigold.
You also remembered that he was able to take away the marigold in the barn, and whatever was left back at Hotel Obsidian.
You lifted your head, your eyes bright as the idea swirled in your mind.
You brought your hands onto the table, finding that you explain best with random hand motions, “What about Viktor, he could absorb our marigolds and transfer out his own into the Cleanse. That way the marigold and durango meet but we won’t have to die, we just won’t have our powers again.”
Both Fives were silent for a moment as they contemplated your plan. The Five next to you was the first to react by holding your face in his palms and planting a kiss between your brows. “Darling,” he admired, “You’re an absolute genius.”
Your timeline’s Five frowned in disagreement and jealousy, “What about Ben? If we combine our marigold with the Cleanse then he’ll die in there.”
“That Ben was an asshole anyway,” you shrugged, honestly not caring since he was the reason you were in this dilemma in the first place.
He hummed in agreement, not able to argue with you on that. He stood up and so did the other Five so he could let you out of the booth.
Your Five didn’t want to hang around for goodbyes, you had come up with a plan and that was that. He grabbed your arm and tugged you towards the door. The other Five quickly grabbed your other arm to hold you in place.
“Once this is all over, don’t go back to him. There are plenty of Fives here who will treat you so much better,” he winked at you as cheers of agreement ensued across the deli.
A blush came across your face as you looked around at the hopeful smiles of every Five in the room.
Maybe you didn’t have to stop loving Five.
You just had to let go of one.
You slightly nodded and winked back at Five as he let go of your arm, letting your Five tug you back towards the subway with an upset stomp. Looking back with a little wave, you walked out as Drunk Five yelled, “Auf wiedersehen!”

“Here in Katseye, we believe in starting strong. No beating around the bush, no stupid sub plot-lines, and definitely no bullshit when it comes to making our fans happy, because that is our number one priority. We make music to make you guys happy, and in turn, that makes us happy. You crazy kids always find a way to entertain us, so we do our part to entertain you.”
user01 omg this hoe is really tokyo drifting circles around the elephant in the room right now
user02 or team really said let’s get our very own shakespeare
user03 not eyekonville successfully cyber bullying y/n into addressing the tiktok yall this fandom is not real
“Oh my God, you’re stalling the hell out of this right now,” Lara snorted, head resting against her fist. The two of you sat at Lara’s desk, the violet LEDs on in the room with the older’s rnb playlist playing softly through her speakers.
You clasped your flushing cheeks into your hands, groaning. “Well, I’m not exactly excited to talk about this!”
Lara scoffed, raising an eyebrow and eyeing the live, as if sharing a knowing look with the fans watching the both of you at home. “You guys really thought you could put something like that out and not spark hellfire in Eyekonville?”
“It was so long ago! I didn’t think it would blow up like that.”
Two years ago, you posted a tiktok on your personal tiktok account of a challenge you and Megan did during your Dream Academy days. It was before the group was formed, and you were kindly instructed to remove it after your debut, but some fan who’s been following you since your predebut days seemed to have reposted it on twitter. The tweet gathered a total of 53M views and 1.2M likes from both eyekons and those unfamiliar to your music. Now fans shamelessly bombarded you with questions about it any chance they got.
The tiktok in question was the two of you doing the lipstick trend to the song “Appcalypse” by Cigarettes After Sex.
You appeared onscreen first, putting on some red lipgloss before the phone panned to black-haired Megan, staring at you, the camera going unnoticed by her dreamy eyes as she stared at you with a gentle smile. Every visible inch of skin littered with a variety of smudged or clear red lipstick marks.
[ holy fucking shit i did six backflips when i saw the tiktok ]
user04 they fr hard launched during da and forgot abt it
user05 deadass i always knew megn/n wasn’t just a figment of my imagination they been sus since da
user06 guys she’s abt to hard launch again act surprised
“You posted it during mission two?” Lara stared at her phone, definitely watching the video once again online. She shook her head, “Damn, I forgot ya’ll were rooming together.”
“Okay, before any of ya’ll put on your tinfoil hats and make up conspiracy theories about this, it was just a trend. Nothing more. We spent a lot of time together during training and we did a lot of challenges like that one, okay?” you stammered, clearing your throat. You thanked all the Gods the room was coloured so the fans couldn’t see your flushed cheeks. “Megan and I are friends—and now roommates, but that’s it.”
user07 oh yeah cuz i do couple trends w my friends too
user09 so this convinced a total of negative a trillion people
user08 i think doechii wrote a song about you honey
Lara giggled at the comments clocking your lies, glancing at your disapproving gaze as she fell back into her swivel chair. You sighed, shaking your head. “Guys, I swear on my mom, it is not what you think! We were just doing a tiktok trend!”
[ y/n baby you’re talented at a lot of things… just not lying ]
“Yeah, guys, come on, she’s being so for real right now…” Lara added in a monotonous tone of mockery. “You wouldn’t want everyone’s favourite Katz to get in trouble now, would you?”
“I do that with all the other girls too—How about this, if I promise to post this video of Sophia and I doing a couple’s yoga trend that was all over tiktok like two months ago, will you guys believe me?” You desperately sought to keep things tame, not wanting unnecessary trouble with your management team. Though, all press is good press, and the 63k people watching you try and make a bad case against dating rumours with your fellow bandmate would attest to that.
user09 kissing all over is different from doing poses tgt
user10 honey we saw the marks leading down meimei’s neck into her shirt you did not have to do allat for a casual trend
user11 i’d never let my bsf kiss me like that even for a trend
[ the look megan gave her though?? how is that platonic??? ]
“That’s the best answer you’re gonna get from my girl,” Lara chuckled, winking at the camera, “If y’all really wanna know what’s up that bad… guess you’ll have to stick with us.”
˚⟡˖ ࣪ ⋆౨ৎ Clip two: [ TWITCH ] d4vd x katseye streamathon
“No, have you seen this girl’s roblox avatar? She got that drip. She’s a certified gamer!” Daniela nodded, pursing her lips and giving D4vd an ‘mhm’ as his jaw dropped.
Serves him right for doubting your gaming skills. Silly D4vd.
You held your hands up as he let out an ‘ooh’, crossing your arms. “What can I say… I’m always on that bloxburg grind.”
Lara rolled her eyes playfully, “I’ll say, this bitch will stay in her room and never come out if she didn’t legally sign a contract. y/n and Megan are the most loser-coded, discord server npcs I have ever met. Like all they need is each other and their ipads.”
“Hey, why am I catching strays right now!” Megan whined.
You chuckled, a hand lifting to stroke the small of her back. She readjusted her beanie, leaning forward with a pout. She read the chat’s amused comments on Lara’s words, glancing back at you. “Are you just gonna take that?”
You shrugged, “To be fair, we are pretty addicted, Mei.”
[ it’s giving gentle husky x orange cat duo and im here for it ]
“Yeah, I know y/n’s the boss at dress to impress, we should get her on this.” Daniela moved away from the centre of the frame to make space for you. You slipped between her and the desk, grabbing the ipad from Lara. Daniela’s hands slipped up to grip your hips, locking you in place as she continued to banter.
Sat to the side just a little bit behind Daniela, Megan couldn’t help but eye the both of you every couple seconds.
The chat pointed out how she was doing her signature “laugh then lock in” bit, but in a more “show jealousy then remember she needs to lock in” way. Her eyes would linger on the two of you, on Daniela’s hands caressing your waist, a little too long with her eyebrows slowly furrowing and her smile fading. Then she would remember she was on camera.
user01 ooh somebody’s lookin a little jealousssssss
user02 megan forgot she needs to stay employed for a second
user03 bro’s fr getting war flashbacks rn
user04 what a good day to be a dann/n defender ;)
“Somebody asked if Daniela and y/n are bread and peanut butter, ‘cuz Megan is exactly the jelly they need right now,” D4vd read aloud, eliciting laughter from everybody in the room but a stunned Megan. She sometimes forget Twitch was an American platform and they were allowed to say more things they weren’t allowed on Korean ones like Weverse. But even you seemed to be going along with the teasing. D4vd sighed, “Oh my God, that’s gold, you guys have the best fan base.”
“Oh, Mei, I’m sorry for hogging the ipad. Here, you and I are both experts, if we work together, we should be able to beat these hoes at their own game.” you scorched over, peeling yourself from Daniela’s greedy fingers to make room for Megan. The redhead slid in, indirectly pushing the blonde out towards the edge of the frame, finding herself behind you.
[ y/n is so cute and oblivious oml but she loves megan sm ]
She internally cooed at your blissful ignorance, melting at you doing your best to include her. She’ll take what she could get, her mood immediately lightening up upon taking Daniela’s spot behind you, looping her fingers into the belt hoops of your baggy jeans. You two fell into your own little world, choosing outfits on the game as the others gave you input.
user05 megn/n pda i repeat MEGN/N PDA
user06 girl ain’t nobody looking at the stupid game screen rn
user07 they’re really making the most of the american rules
user08 ah yes there’s my daily megn/n fix
“So are we gonna say anything, or…?” Lara mouthed towards Daniela. She sat to your left, leaning back to gesture at the blonde so the two of you wouldn’t see. Sucked in your own world, on the virtual runway, you and Megan were too entrapped with the game and your fans to notice.
Daniela gave D4vd a look, who didn’t really know what to say. He was pretty entertained by the two of you’s intimate stance.
The blonde eventually shook her head, waving a hand. The three of them moved on to play the game with you two too. Slowly, you moved to sit on Megan’s lap, her arms around your hips and her head over your shoulder.
[ god i’ve never felt more single in my sad and lonely life ]
˚⟡˖ ࣪ ⋆౨ৎ Clip three: [ TIKTOK LIVE ] @meretmanon
“I think the plan is. we wake up at 6:30, we get downstairs at 7, get a coffee and maybe a pastry for breakfast, then get in the van and head for the hotel we’re getting ready at.” Manon was gathering her makeup, listing your schedule. She had decided to go live, having nothing to do as she does her makeup to ready for the seven of you heading to Sophia’s family home.
Everybody was gathered in Daniela and Manon’s room, waiting for their eldest member to finish getting ready.
The tiktok live went viral on tiktok after it ended for a couple moments in the background. This was during a time when the company was trying their hardest to manage the group’s image after some threads on twitter with the tag “#megn/n” had gotten out of hand with some unwanted attention.
You were clearly perched in the right bed behind Manon, Sophia, Lara and Yoonchae spread on the other. You rested against the headboard, entranced by the phone in your hand as the other three watched TV.
“Oh my God, don’t even talk about the early morning tomorrow, I’m absolutely dreading it.” Daniela groaned, emerging from the bathroom to stand behind Manon, gazing down at the comments flooding the chat. She caught sight of you sitting in the background, eyeing Megan, who, unknowingly appeared on camera, sauntered her way around the bed to lean over you. The blonde quickly moved to stand in the way of the view, blocking the ordeal from the live.
user01 i saw that. I SAW THAT.
user02 WAS MEGAN LEANING DOWN FOR A KISS WTF
user03 nah they trained daniela to be on it fr
user04 this is some pazzi shit all over again (pls get the ref)
user05 hold me down cuz im abt to go feral
Manon and Daniela shared a look, but neither of them dared to address the compelling topic of discussion amongst the fans.
Later on in the livestream, Daniela eventually moved off to take a call from her parents. Scurrying off, she left Manon in front of the phone, sitting on the floor in between the end of both beds. Lara was laying over the edge of the left one, talking about how excited they were to see the Laforteza’s.
Megan’s feet poked from the right side, hanging off the side of the bed. She suddenly propped herself up, laying on you, who moved just into frame as you laid on the pillow.
Knowing the group had been briefed about keeping the whole megn/n thing under tabs, Sophia nudged Manon, who then moved so her body would cover the two of you once again.
user06 show it to me please SEND IT TO ME RACHEL
user07 oml the gate keeping im foaming at the mouth
user08 so where are all the megn/n deniers now huh??
user09 nah yall can’t cover that up we saw that kiss jn
[ no cuz why were they working so hard to cover things up that live, it’s so funny cuz sophia and the girls were fighting for their lives but megn/n did not gaf like at all ]
When somebody would say things about y/n having a girlfriend or Megan having a boyfriend, Lara would very unsubtly make a face; most of the time it would be a smirk with a raised eyebrow at how ridiculous the comment was.
“y/n, somebody said they want to take you to breakfast,” Manon read aloud, not bothering to even look at your reaction.
A small, mumbled, “better not” from Megan could be heard once the fans enhanced the audio.
[ y/n definitely keeps this girl in check… ]
˚⟡˖ ࣪ ⋆౨ৎ Clip four: [ WEVERSE LIVE ] solo mei for the win ;)
“I wish I could read, I’m dyslexic,” Megan cackled, setting her makeup bag down. “I love audio books though, if you guys have any recommendations, I’d love to try them out.”
A knock sounded, Megan’s head snapped towards the door. “Somebody just knocked… hello?”
The door creaked open, and you popped in. “Baby, you forgot to grab your id this morning—!” The way Megan’s eyes widened, you knew you had fucked up on some level. It was only then did you notice the phone and ring light in front of her, and the extremely cautious “oh shit” look on her face.
user01 “BABY”??????????????? HELLO??????????????????
user02 IM FUCKING OVULATING DONT DO THIS TO ME
user03 oh nah oh nah i’m folding hard asf rn
user04 EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP ITS HAPPENING
user05 that has to be y/n l/n i recognize that voice
You thanked God you were still out of frame, setting the id down on the table and gesturing for you having to leave. She doesn’t react or address the situation, clearing her throat. “Anyway, I love audio books. I’m actually better at math than english, so if you guys need help with homework, I’m here.”
user06 nooooo bring y/n back we’ve missed her :(
user07 not megan acting like we didn’t just catch them
user08 WHY ARE YOU ALL SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS???
[ love how they just never talked about this after but i just know they got their ass beat by their pr team ]
˚⟡˖ ࣪ ⋆౨ৎ Clip five: [ COSMOPOLITAN ] Katseye Q&A
“y/n, you’ve been known to have a more impulsive tendency, and you’ve mentioned before you love getting impromptu tattoos. What’s the most recent tattoo you’ve gotten, and why did you choose to get it?” The interviewer questioned, the shot quickly cut to the seven of you. In the back row, sat Sophia, Yoonchae, you and Lara, in the front, Daniela, Manon and Megan. Six pairs of eyes turned to you.
“Oh, I, uh—” Caught off guard by the sudden spotlight burning you in place, you shifted, chuckling awkwardly. When you blanked, you began internally panicking.
You hated talking about your tattoos. It made you nervous because you’ve gotten a lot of criticism for it in the media.
“Actually, y/n and I got tattoos together. We wanted to get something that symbolized Katseye’s debut, so she got a (your charm), and I got a dual cherry on the inside of our left ring fingers.” Megan flashed the tattoo towards the camera, the editors zoomed in really quick.
You played along, showing yours as well.
“Oh, wow, that’s really cute!” The interviewer chuckled, “So will this be a ‘all seven of you’ kinda tattoo, or will this stay just the two of you for now?”
Lara groaned, “Oh, girl, trust I will be tatted the hell up in the future. I will be getting my key sooner or later.”
As the conversation shifted, you could feel Megan’s hand slide behind Manon’s to give your thigh an encouraging squeeze. It was a small gesture, but it eased your nerves. You glanced at her, and she shot you a quick wink. It drove megn/n truthers up the fucking wall. Your hashtag trending on Eyekonville.
The interview continued, but in that moment, fans knew, even if it wasn’t plastered on billboards preaching about it, the little relationship, whatever it may be, between you two was sacred.

The evening air is cool, slipping through the cracked kitchen window as Joel rinses a coffee mug under the faucet. The quiet hum of the fridge is the only sound in the house, a rare moment of stillness since Sarah moved in for college. He doesn’t mind the mess she brings with her—the stray notebooks on the kitchen counter, the piles of laundry that seem to multiply like rabbits—but it means his nights often end like this, cleaning up after her, one piece of chaos at a time.
He glances toward the trash can, where the lid doesn’t sit flush. With a low grunt, he tugs the can out, ready to take it to the curb, but as he reaches for the liner, something crumpled catches his eye. His brows knit together as he pulls out the wadded piece of paper. Smoothing it against the counter, his frown deepens.
It’s a flyer. Bright neon colors advertise a college party—cheap beer, loud music, and the promise of bad decisions. His gut tightens as he reads the details. The address is printed at the bottom and the date and time stand out like a glaring warning sign: Tonight. 9 PM. Joel glances at the clock on the microwave—it’s already past ten.
His stomach tightens.
Sarah hasn’t mentioned anything about going to a party. She’s been quiet all evening, coming home from class and heading straight to her room, earbuds in, barely mumbling a “hey” when he asked if she’d eaten dinner.
Joel runs a hand over his beard, staring at the flyer like it might offer some explanation. A dozen thoughts flood his mind- the packed rooms, the loud music, the drunk kids stumbling into each other. He can almost see Sarah in the middle of it all—maybe drinking something she shouldn’t be, maybe with a boy who has no business being near her.
“Dammit, Sarah,” he mutters under his breath, tossing the flyer back onto the counter. His fingers itch toward his phone, and before he can second-guess himself, he hits the contact for her mom.
The phone rings twice before she picks up, her voice warm but wary, the way it always is when Joel calls unexpectedly. “Hey, Joel. What’s going on?”
“Have you heard from Sarah tonight?” he asks, skipping past the pleasantries.
There’s a pause. “No, why?”
Joel exhales, gripping the edge of the counter. “She’s not here. Found a damn party flyer in the trash. Looks like it’s tonight. Think she’s there.”
Another pause, followed by a sigh. “Joel, she’s in college. Going to parties is part of the experience.”
“Yeah, and it’s part of the experience to make dumbass choices, too,” he shoots back, pacing the kitchen. “You know what these things are like. Cheap booze, god knows what else floatin' around. She doesn’t belong there.”
“She’s not a kid anymore, Joel,” her mom replies, her tone calm but firm. “She’s responsible enough to know her limits.”
“Responsible?” Joel lets out a sharp laugh. “She didn’t even tell me she was goin' out. Doesn't sound responsible to me.”
“You can’t hover over her every second,” she snaps, her patience clearly thinning. “She’s figuring things out. You need to let her.”
Joel clenches his teeth, his grip on the phone tightening. “You call carin' about her hovering? I’m just tryna make sure she’s safe.”
“And I’m telling you she is,” her mom says, exhaling sharply. “Joel, you’re gonna drive yourself crazy with this. Let her have her fun.”
Before Joel can respond, she hangs up. He pulls the phone from his ear and stares at the screen, his jaw clenching as frustration boils in his chest. Let her have her fun. The words echo in his mind, making his stomach churn. Maybe her mom can sit back and hope for the best, but Joel can’t. He won’t.
Pulling his jacket off the back of a chair, he grabs his keys and heads for the door. If Sarah is at that party, he’s going to find her. And she damn well better have a good explanation.
_____________________________
Arthur shifts in his chair, the leather creaking softly as he glances over the edge of his book. He isn’t much of a reader—hell, Sarah’s mom teases him often enough about that—but every now and then, he likes the quiet. The house is calm tonight, the kind of calm that doesn’t come around much these days.
Across the room, she scrolls through her phone, half-watching one of those reality shows she claims to hate but never misses. It’s nice, Arthur thinks, this kind of simple peace.
Then her phone rings.
Arthur watches her pick it up, her brow furrowing slightly as she glances at the caller ID. “It’s Joel,” she mutters, swiping to answer.
Arthur sets his book down, leaning back as the conversation begins. He raises an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. He can’t hear Joel’s words, but he can imagine them—gruff, insistent, probably pacing a hole into the floor on the other end of the line.
When she finally hangs up, she lets out an exasperated sigh, tossing the phone onto the coffee table.
“Let me guess,” Arthur drawls, his voice tinged with amusement. “Joel’s got his panties in a twist?”
Her lips twitch, but she shakes her head. “He found some party flyer in the trash. Thinks Sarah’s there and is acting like it’s the end of the world.”
Arthur snorts, rubbing a hand over his chin. “Sounds ‘bout right. Man’s wound tighter than a spring.”
“It’s exhausting,” she admits, leaning back into the couch. “I told him she’s fine. She’s not a kid anymore.”
Arthur nods slowly, his expression thoughtful. “Maybe. But Joel’s got his reasons for worryin'. Can’t say I don’t see his point.”
She gives him a sharp look. “Don’t tell me you’re siding with him all of the sudden.”
Arthur shrugs, standing and stretching as he grabs his jacket from the back of the chair followed by his hat. “Ain’t about takin' sides. But if he’s worried enough to call, maybe there’s somethin' to it. Kids these days, parties like that—” He shakes his head. “Best not to assume it’s all harmless fun.”
Her frown deepens. “You’re not seriously thinking of going, are you?”
Arthur shoots her a crooked grin, pulling on his jacket. “Well, somebody oughta make sure Joel don't storm in there like a damn cavalry charge.”
She rolls her eyes but doesn’t argue, muttering something under her breath as he grabs his keys.
As he steps outside, the cool night air hits his face. He slides into his truck, glancing briefly at the dashboard before starting the engine. Joel is probably halfway to the party already, tense as a coiled snake. Arthur can’t help the smirk that tugs at his lips.
Guess I’ll have to make sure he doesn’t make a damn fool of himself.
The closer Joel gets to the party, the more his unease builds. He can hear the music from blocks away, the thrum of bass vibrating through his chest. His gut twists, each beat of the song an irritating reminder that his daughter, his baby girl, is likely in there somewhere. He parks his truck and steps out into the loud, chaotic scene.
The house is a mess from the outside, students drunkenly spilling out of the door and onto the front lawn, some of them barely keeping their balance. The closer he gets, the worse the place is—loud and cluttered with more students than Joel can count. He can already feel his blood pressure rising. As he reaches the front steps, a wiry kid in a tank top and backward cap blocks his path. The kid can’t be older than twenty-one and is clearly drunk, his glassy eyes scanning Joel with exaggerated scrutiny.
“Whoa, whoa, dude, hold up,” the kid slurs, holding up a hand. “You can’t just storm in here lookin' like that. You’re way too tense, man. Party vibes only.”
Joel frowns, his patience already running thin. “I ain’t here to party. I’m here to pick up my daughter.”
The kid squints at him, shaking his head with mock disappointment. “Nah, nah, can’t let you in all mad like that. House rules, bro. You gotta chill first. Like, take a shot, loosen up, and then you can go find whoever.”
Joel stares at him, his expression hardening. “I don’t have time for this. Move.”
But the kid holds firm, producing a tray of bright green jello shots with a flourish. “No shot, no entry. That’s the rule. C’mon, man, it’s just jello. What’s the worst that could happen?”
Joel exhales sharply through his nose, his patience worn to a thread. The kid in front of him sways slightly, the jello shots jiggling on the tray as he grins like he’s just presented the best damn solution in the world.
Joel doesn’t have time for this. He’s about to shove past the guy when a familiar voice cuts through the noise behind him.
"Well, ain't this a sight."
Joel turns just as Arthur steps up beside him, hands in the pockets of his jacket, that damn cowboy hat sitting low on his head like he owns the place.
Joel hates that hat. He’s hated it since the first time he saw it, sitting smug as hell atop Arthur’s head like some declaration of personality. The damn thing makes Arthur look too at ease, too comfortable in any situation—including this one.
The kid grins wider, apparently delighted by the addition of another older man to his party obstacle course. “Ayyy, two-for-one deal! Y’all both gotta take one. House rules, bros.”
Arthur glances at the jello shots and then at Joel. “You gonna play nice, or you plannin’ to deck this poor bastard?”
Joel glares. “I ain’t here for games.”
Arthur hums, clearly entertained. He plucks one of the tiny plastic cups off the tray, holding it up like he’s appraising fine liquor. “Hell, Miller, might as well get in the spirit.”
Joel’s jaw tightens. He is not in the mood for this nonsense, but Arthur’s already tipping the shot back, his expression unreadable as he swallows. A beat later, he clears his throat, grimacing. “That’s awful.”
The kid cheers like Arthur just won some kind of prize. “Hell yeah! Your turn, grumpy dude.” He shoves the tray toward Joel again, jiggling it obnoxiously.
Joel eyes the tiny cup like it personally offended him. His fingers curl into fists at his sides. Every second he spends out here, Sarah could be getting into trouble inside. He doesn’t trust these kids, doesn’t trust the booze, doesn’t trust any of this.
Arthur nudges him with an elbow. “C’mon, Miller. Ain’t gonna kill ya.”
Joel exhales through gritted teeth. Fine. If it gets this dumbass out of his way faster.
He snatches a shot from the tray, tilts his head back, and swallows it in one go.
Immediately, regret slams into him.
It’s sickly sweet and burns in a way that doesn’t belong in jello. His face contorts, and beside him, Arthur lets out a wheezing laugh. “Oh, that’s just nasty.”
Joel coughs once, shoving the empty cup back at the kid. “Happy?”
The kid fist pumps like a proud parent. “Vibe check complete, my dudes! Go forth and party.”
Joel doesn’t waste another second. He brushes past him, Arthur following close behind. The second they step inside, the heat and smell hit him—cheap beer, sweat, and something suspiciously skunky in the air. The bass rattles his ribs, and the sheer amount of people crammed into the space makes his pulse spike.
Arthur whistles low, glancing around. “Damn. Brings back memories.”
Joel ignores him.
Arthur sighs, rolling his eyes. “Right, then. Let’s go huntin’ hound dog.”
“Have you seen Sarah Miller?” Joel asks a couple of people milling about the entryway, but no one knows where she is. Some give him blank stares, others are too drunk to respond properly. His patience is thin.
He scans the crowd, eyes darting from room to room, trying to catch sight of her. The music pulses in his ears, every movement around him only adding to the feeling that everything is spiraling out of his control. Where the hell are you, Sarah?
A few steps into the living room, Joel freezes. His name cuts through the noise like a knife.
“Well, well. Joel Miller, at a college party. Never thought I’d see the day.” The voice is unmistakable—playful, familiar, and laced with just enough teasing to make his jaw clench. Joel turns, his eyes landing on you, Sarah's friend.
You’re leaning casually against the wall, a red plastic cup in hand, looking far too amused for his liking.
“What the hell are you doin’ here?” Joel demands, stepping closer, his tone sharp but quiet enough not to draw attention.
You shrug, a sly smile tugging at your lips. “Same thing everyone else is doing. Relaxing, having a good time. You should try it sometime.”
Joel’s scowl deepens. “I ain’t here for that.”
“Figured.” You sip your drink, your gaze never leaving his. “Lemme guess. Sarah?”
He nods tightly. “You seen her?”
“Maybe.” You tilt your head, there's a playful glint in your eyes. “What’s it worth to you?”
Joel lets out a frustrated sigh, running a hand over his face. “This ain’t the time for games, darlin’.”
You laugh softly, setting your cup down. “Relax, Joel. I’ll help you find her. You know,” you say, your eyes sparkling with mischief as you lean in slightly, “you clean up nice. Didn’t realize you’d turned into such a hot daddy.”
Arthur immediately coughs—more like chokes—his hand flying to his mouth as he fights to hold back laughter. “Oh-ho, now this is gettin’ good.”
Joel’s jaw drops slightly, his ears burning. “The hell did you just say?”
“You heard me,” you reply, unfazed. “Hot. Daddy. Don’t act so surprised—it’s a compliment.”
Arthur slaps a hand on Joel’s shoulder, grinning like a damn fool. “You know, Miller, I've been sayin’ you were gettin’ a little too soft in the middle. Guess the young folks got a name for it now.”
Joel looks like he wants the floor to swallow him whole. “You’re both somethin’ else, you know that?”
Arthur leans in slightly, smirking. “Yeah, well, guess that makes you Daddy Miller now.”
Joel’s groan drowns out your laughter as he rubs his face. “I swear to god—”
“Oh, c’mon, Daddy,” you tease, winking. “Let’s find your kid before you have an aneurysm.”
Arthur, still grinning, tips his hat. “Lead the way, darlin’.”
Joel barely has time to recover from your teasing before you grab his arm and start weaving through the crowd. His gruff protests are swallowed by the thumping bass and the loud laughter of drunken college kids. He follows reluctantly, still fuming but unable to shake the warmth spreading over his cheeks from your earlier comment.
“Where’d you see her last?” he asks, his voice low as his eyes dart around the chaotic scene.
You glance over your shoulder, smirking. “Patience, Joel. I’m working on it. You’re like a bloodhound, you know that? Just sniffing out trouble.”
He shoots Arthur a glare. “You comin’ or just standin’ there lookin’ smug?”
Arthur’s smirk widens as he follows. “Wouldn’t miss this for the world.”
Joel pushes through the crowd with Arthur close behind, his jaw clenched so tight it’s a miracle he hasn’t cracked a tooth. The bass rattles the floor beneath his boots, the house packed shoulder to shoulder with college kids shouting over the music, some already sloppy-drunk and stumbling. Every second that ticks by without finding Sarah makes his chest tighten, but what’s almost as frustrating is the bastard at his side.
Arthur, the smug son of a bitch, is clearly enjoying this way too much.
“Well,” Arthur drawls as they push past a couple making out against the staircase banister. “If ya told me you wanted to relive your youth, I’d have suggested a saloon instead of a damn frat house.”
Joel shoots him a glare, but Arthur just grins, scanning the room like he’s actually enjoying himself. “This ain’t a joke, Morgan.”
“Didn’t say it was. But you gotta admit—” Arthur gestures at the chaos, some kid throwing up into a plastic cup a few feet away, “—it’s pretty damn funny.”
Joel exhales sharply, fighting the urge to deck him. “Only thing funny is how I keep puttin’ up with your shit.”
Arthur smirks. “Aw, you’d miss me if I was gone.”
“Like I’d miss a damn splinter.”
Their back-and-forth is interrupted when a girl stumbles into Joel’s side, nearly spilling her drink down his shirt. She blinks up at him, eyes glassy, then lets out a breathless laugh. “Oh my god. You guys are, like, way too old to be here. Are you professors?”
Arthur lets out a barking laugh before Joel can answer. “Somethin’ like that, sweetheart.”
Joel shakes his head, muttering under his breath, and keeps moving. Arthur follows, still smirking, but then you step into their path, that mischievous glint in your eye returning as you block their way.
“Boys, please.” you say, arms folding across your chest.
Joel exhales sharply. “You know where she is or not?”
You hum, tilting your head, letting the tension stretch just a little longer. “Maybe.”
Arthur snorts. “She’s messin’ with ya.”
You flash him a grin. “Maybe I just like seeing Joel all worked up.”
Arthur laughs, shaking his head. “You ain’t the first.”
Joel rolls his eyes.
You step closer with a knowing grin. “Pretty sure she went upstairs.”
Joel stiffens, scanning the crowded staircase. His gut twists. Upstairs could mean anything—she could be safe, just hanging out, or she could be caught up in something way worse.
“I’ll check,” he mutters, already moving toward the stairs.
Arthur’s about to follow, but Joel shakes his head. “We cover more ground if we split up. Keep lookin’ down here.”
Arthur raises an eyebrow. “Oh, so I get to stumble ‘round in a damn sea of drunk fools while you get to skulk off someplace nice and quiet?”
Joel shoots him a look. “You’d rather deal with the mess up there?”
Arthur considers, then sighs dramatically. “Fine. But if I get puked on, I’m makin’ you buy me a new damn coat.”
Joel just grunts, already halfway up the stairs, while Arthur turns back to the party. The moment you reach the second floor, the thumping bass fades slightly. The air is cooler up here, the chaos of the party reduced to muffled echoes below.
Joel glances back at you, suspicion in his gaze. “Where?”
You nod down the hall. “Last door on the left.”
Joel doesn’t waste a second, pushing forward. You follow, letting him step inside first. The moment he’s over the threshold, you swing the door shut behind you with a quiet click.
Joel turns, frowning. “What—?”
“She’s not up here.”
His brows knit together, realization settling in. “What the hell, darlin’?”
You take a slow step forward, and Joel—big, brooding, and absolutely clueless—actually takes a step back and sits on the bed.
“You seemed stressed,” you say lightly, tilting your head. “Figured you could use a break.”
Joel exhales sharply, shaking his head. “This ain’t funny.”
“Who’s joking?” You step closer, close enough that he can smell whatever sweet perfume clings to your skin. “Arthur can keep himself busy for a little while. And you… you look like you could use some help loosening up.”
Joel’s jaw ticks, his hands flexing at his sides. “Ain’t happenin’.”
You smirk. “Sure about that?”
Suddenly, the room tilts—not in a drunken, careless way, but in a slow, creeping blur. Joel sits on the edge of the bed, broad shoulders rising and falling with unsteady breaths. His shirt hangs open at the top, sweat beads at his temple, and his fingers dig into the mattress like he’s holding onto the last thread of his sanity.
Something is wrong.
You stand in front of him, warmth blooming in your chest—not from alcohol, but from the way he looks at you. His pupils are blown wide, his lips parted, his entire body wound so tight he looks ready to snap. He looks wrecked.
“Joel,” you murmur, stepping between his knees. Your fingers trail along his jaw, feeling the heat radiating off his skin. “You feeling alright?”
His throat bobs with a hard swallow, his whole body rigid beneath your touch. “Somethin’ ain’t right,” he rasps, voice thick with strain. “Shouldn’t be feelin’ this way.”
You smirk, dragging your fingers lower over the pulse hammering in his throat. “Feel what way?”
His jaw flexes, eyes darting away, searching for an anchor—something to ground him. But control is slipping through his fingers like sand.
“You,” he grits out, voice thick and strained. “You smell so damn good.”
Your grin widens, emboldened by the way his hands twitch at his sides, like he’s resisting the urge to grab you. “Maybe that’s just you finally admitting you want me.”
A low, ragged growl rumbles in his throat. Before you can tease him further, his hands shoot up, gripping your hips with a desperation that wasn’t there before.
“Don’t play with me, darlin’,” he warns, though the heat behind it is fading fast, cracking into something more vulnerable. His chest rises and falls unevenly, his pupils dark pools of hunger and confusion. “I—I can’t think straight.”
You lean in, your lips brushing the shell of his ear. “Then don’t think.”
Joel exhales sharply, body trembling beneath your touch, every muscle wound tight like a drawn bowstring.
Then the door creaks open.
“What in the hell?”
Arthur’s voice slams into the moment like a bucket of ice water.
Joel curses under his breath, hands jerking away from you like he’s been caught doing something he shouldn’t. You turn to find Arthur standing in the doorway, one hand braced against the frame, his expression shifting rapidly from bewilderment to something sharper, more knowing. His sharp gaze flickers between you and Joel, taking in his disheveled state—the sweat at his temple, the way his chest heaves like he’s run a mile.
Arthur’s frown deepens. “You wanna explain why Miller looks like he’s ‘bout to keel over?”
Joel groans, squeezing his eyes shut, like he’s fighting off some invisible force. “Somethin’ was in those damn shots.”
Arthur’s face darkens. His jaw tightens, his hand dragging down his face as the realization clicks into place. “Oh, for fuck sakes.”
For the first time, you notice it—how Arthur's fingers flex restlessly at his sides, the faint flush creeping up his neck. The way his throat bobs when he swallows, like something is catching there, thick and unshakable.
You bite your lip, watching as Arthur exhales sharply. His usual composure cracking, just enough to reveal the heat flickering behind his gaze, the same one you just saw in Joel’s.
Arthur clenches his jaw, shaking his head like he can force away the sensation clawing its way up his spine. “This ain't happenin’,” he mutters under his breath, pacing in short, jerky steps, his boots scuffing against the floor.
But you see it. His fingers flex like he’s itching to touch. His gaze flickers to you, then to Joel, then back again, lingering just a second too long. He’s trying—god, he’s trying—to hold himself together, but his breath comes faster and his muscles tense beneath his shirt.
“Arthur,” you murmur, stepping toward him. Your fingers ghost over his arm, stopping his restless pacing. His muscles jump beneath your touch, his jaw locking tight as he flinches back like you’ve burned him.
“Are you feeling it too?”
A sharp inhale. A pause.
Then, in a voice stretched thin with restraint, he rasps, “Don’t.”
But there’s no real bite to it—just a desperate, fraying edge. His pupils are blown wide. His nostrils flare as his gaze flickers around the room—searching for control, finding none.
"You say that," you murmur, dragging your fingers down his chest, slow, teasing. "But you feel it too, don't you?"
Arthur’s pulse throbs under your fingertips, hot against your skin. His breath is uneven. “Can’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you.” The words break off, swallowed by a tightness in his throat that says more than he can put into words. “‘Bout—” He cuts himself off, like just the thought of it is too much. The way he trembles, the way his eyes darken—they’re confirmation enough.
You trace his torso before feeling the undeniable bulge beneath his jeans.
He tenses. A sharp inhale punches out of his lungs. His hips jerk forward instinctively, the thick heat of him twitching under your touch, seeping through the denim.
Arthur lets out a low, muttered curse, his resolve shattering like glass. Before you can say another word, his hands are on you.
It’s sudden—like a dam breaking. His grip is firm, almost bruising, as he yanks you in, crashing his lips against yours. Heat ignites in your veins, scorching and insatiable. You melt into him, fingers tangling in his hair, tugging him closer. He groans into your mouth, his hands anchoring you to him, pressing you flush against him.
Behind you, Joel makes a strangled, guttural noise—something raw, something starved.
Arthur finally pulls away, his breath ragged. His forehead presses against yours, hands locked around your hips like letting go isn’t an option. His grip is possessive, claiming.
But Joel isn’t about to be left behind.
He exhales shakily, hesitation flickering in his gaze for only a second before he’s on his feet.
He closes the distance in a single step, his fingers threading into your hair, tilting your face up. And then his mouth meets yours. It’s different from Arthur—deeper, rougher, edged with something raw and desperate. His grip is sure, his hands sliding down your body, pulling you flush against him like he needs to feel every inch of you, needs to brand himself into you.
Arthur shifts behind you, a low scoff slipping past his lips. “Oh, come on, Miller.” His voice is rough, breathless, and laced with utter need. “You kissin’ her or tryin’ to romance her?”
Joel pulls back just enough to glare at him. “Least I know how to take my time, Morgan. You just gonna stand there and watch, or you gonna do somethin’?”
Arthur’s smirk is sharp as a blade. “You askin’ me to show you how it’s done?”
Before you can blink, Arthur’s hands are on you again, gripping your hips so fast your head spins. He tugs you against him, chest flush to your back, his breath hot against your ear.
“You wanna be handled right, sweetheart,” he murmurs, his lips brushing your skin. “You come to me.”
You feel it—the heat, the desperation, the all-consuming ache that quickly becomes unbearable. This isn’t just lust. It’s chemical. Something unnatural coils through their veins, winding tighter and tighter. Their hunger intensifies until it borders on agony.
“Sweetheart, you gotta tell us—" Arthur's hips jerk forward rolling against you and a strangled grunt slips from him. "—gotta tell us it’s okay, ‘cause I can’t, won’t be able to stop."
Your stomach clenches. The sharp spike of arousal sends a pulse of heat straight between your legs. They’re breaking apart, and it’s because of you.
You swallow hard, “I don’t want you to stop.”
Arthur hands are on you in a flash, tearing at your clothes like patience is a thing of the past. His lips scorch a path across your skin, demanding and relentless as his tongue explores every inch of you. He pants like he’s drowning and needs you to breathe.
Joel is no better. His large hands roam over your body, shoving under your shirt, his fingers greedily grabbing and kneading your skin.
“Darlin’, we gotta get this off,” Joel mutters, voice thick with need.
Arthur growls, yanking your shirt up and ripping it over your head in one rough motion, fabric flying to the floor. Your bra is next, unclasped in a single tug, his calloused hands immediately covering your bare skin, kneading your breasts, thumbs swiping over your stiffening nipples.
“You’re so goddamn soft,” Arthur rasps, voice wrecked, his palms mapping every inch of you.
Joel presses his lips to your skin, tongue teasing your nipples with slow, deliberate flicks before sealing around them with a hot, insistent pull. His hands trail heat down your stomach, fingers hooking into the waistband of your jeans. He pulls back with a wet pop, breath warm against your skin. “Ain’t fair, Morgan. Can’t let you have all the fun.”
Joel growls, shoving your jeans down, gripping your ass, squeezing hard enough to make you gasp.
Arthur’s fingers skim lower, finding you already soaked. His grin widens. “Fuck, sweetheart, you really want this, huh?”
“Yeah? How wet is she?”
Arthur drags his fingers through your slick folds before flicking his gaze to Joel, smug. “Why don’t you feel for yourself?”
Joel doesn’t hesitate. His hand joins Arthur’s between your legs, their fingers brushing, both of them feeling just how desperate you are.
A sharp inhale escapes you. The sensation—both their hands on you, teasing, possessive—sends a shock of pleasure straight through you.
Arthur chuckles, thick with satisfaction. “Damn. You feel that?”
Joel exhales sharply, grip tightening. “Oh yeah,” he grits out. “Feel that sweet cunt droolin’ for us.”
His fingers slip inside you, stretching you open, coaxing a moan from deep in your throat. Arthur watches, dark eyes hungry. “Gotta admit, I like hearin’ you make those sounds sweetheart.”
Joel scoffs. “Least I’m makin’ her moan.”
Arthur growls, fingers moving faster, pushing Joel’s aside like he’s reclaiming what’s his. “Let’s see who gets her beggin’ first.”
Both men grin, dark and satisfied, fingers still teasing through your slick folds. “Think she likes bein’ between us.”
Joel’s eyes burn as he watches Arthur’s hand disappear between your thighs. His jaw tightens. “Quit runnin’ your damn mouth and do somethin’.”
Arthur just smirks, fingers hooking into your panties and yanking them down, damp fabric sliding over your thighs.
“You’re a fuckin’ dream.” Joel murmurs.
Arthur scoffs. “Ain’t just gonna tell her. She deserves to feel it too.”
Joel steps back, eyes dragging over your body, chest rising and falling heavily. Arthur does the same, lips parted, a groan slipping from his throat.
“Fuckin’ perfect,” Arthur mutters, fingers tracing the swell of your breasts, down the curve of your waist. “Ain’t never seen anythin’ prettier.”
Joel hums in agreement, hands following the same path, like he needs to memorize every inch of you.
Arthur’s the first to move, unbuckling his belt with a swift pull, letting it drop with a heavy clink. He shoves his jeans and boxers down, stepping free. Your breath catches.
Not to be outdone, Joel shrugs off his shirt, muscles flexing as he makes quick work of his jeans. When they fall, your mouth goes dry.
They’re both… big.
A nervous thrill rushes through you, anticipation crackling along your skin like a live wire. Arthur smirks, catching the way your eyes widen.
“Somethin’ catch your attention, sweetheart?”
Joel exhales sharply, a ghost of a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Bet she’s wonderin’ how she’s gonna take us both.”
Heat floods your cheeks, but the pulsing need between your thighs overpowers any hesitation. You reach for Arthur first, fingers wrapping around the base of his length, feeling the sheer weight of him. His head tips back slightly, but his eyes never leave you.
Not wanting to leave Joel waiting, your other hand wraps around him, fingers curling, testing. He sucks in a sharp breath, muscles tensing beneath your touch.
“Fuck,” Joel mutters, voice strained.
Arthur chuckles, breathless. “She’s got a good grip, huh?”
You lick your lips, heart hammering as you stroke them both, hands moving in slow, deliberate motions. The power of knowing you’re the cause of their unraveling sends a rush of arousal straight through you.
You lean in, taking Arthur first, tongue flicking against his heated skin. His hips jerk, a low growl slipping from his throat.
Joel’s hand slides into your hair, fingers threading through the strands—not to control, just to feel, to anchor himself as he watches you.
Arthur exhales a shaky breath, fingers flexing at his sides. “Hell, sweetheart… keep that up, and I ain’t gonna last.”
Joel chuckles, rough and strained. “Guess I gotta see what all the fuss is about.”
You glance up, meeting their hooded gazes before switching—lips leaving Arthur to wrap around Joel, your hand still working him as you take him deeper.
The sounds they make—needy, desperate, barely held together—send heat pooling between your thighs.
Arthur strokes a hand down your back. “You look so damn good like this, sweetheart.”
Joel exhales sharply, grip in your hair tightening just slightly. “Yeah, she does,” he agrees, voice ragged. “Come on, darlin’. Need you on the bed. Now.”
You barely hit the mattress before Arthur is on you. His mouth is hot, insatiable, kissing you like he’s got something to prove. His tongue sweeps into your mouth, messy and frantic, like he’s trying to erase every other man you’ve ever kissed. His hands grip your skin with urgency, mapping out every inch of you for himself.
Joel isn’t far behind. He crawls onto the bed, big hands sliding up your body. “Goddamn, baby,” he rasps, “you feel so damn good.”
Arthur drags his mouth down your throat, biting at your collarbone, fingers flexing against your hips as he grinds against you, shameless and eager. “Can’t stop touchin’ you,” he mutters, breath coming in heavy, hungry bursts.
Joel watches Arthur roll against you, sees the way your body arches for him, and lets out a low, frustrated sound. His cock twitches. His fingers dig into your thighs, possessive, patience unraveling.
“Goddamn,” he grits out. “I need you.”
Arthur’s head snaps up, eyes dark and burning. His chest heaves. “We need you,” he corrects, voice rough, daring Joel to challenge him.
You whimper, heat pooling low as Joel meets Arthur’s stare, something dangerous passing between them. Then Joel moves, fast, gripping your chin, tilting your head back into a deep kiss. His tongue sweeps against yours, stealing your breath, swallowing your sounds like he owns them.
Arthur watches with an intense gaze, his chest rising sharply. “Shit,” he mutters, voice strained.
Joel chuckles darkly. “Ain’t no stoppin’ now, Morgan.” He smirks, taunting, then glances down at you, his touch slow but deliberate. “She needs us.”
Arthur swallows hard, gaze flickering over you, taking in your wrecked state. His cock is flushed, leaking, aching. The sight of you between them, desperate and wanting, nearly drives him insane. “Then let’s give her what she needs.”
Joel’s fingers trail over your breast, rolling a nipple between them. You arch, whining, and his voice drops to a rasp. “Look at you. So goddamn beautiful.”
Arthur groans in agreement but refuses to let Joel take the lead. He moves lower, mouth dragging down your stomach, hands gripping your thighs, pushing them apart. He inhales sharply at the sight of your slick heat. “Christ, sweetheart,” he murmurs, stroking through your wetness. “All this for us?”
You nod, breathless, fingers tangling in his hair. “Please,” you whisper, wrecked with need.
Arthur doesn’t hesitate. His tongue flattens against you, moving with slow, devastating precision, determined to ruin you for anyone else.
Joel shifts beside you, watching, stroking himself. “Fuck,” he mutters, his free hand tracing over your trembling thighs. “You like that, darlin’? Like him eatin’ you out while I watch?”
Your answer is a broken moan. Your fingers tighten in Arthur’s hair as he sucks your clit, sending sharp jolts of pleasure through you. He pulls back just enough to rasp, “Wanna feel you come on my tongue, sweetheart. Be a good girl for me.” Then he’s back on you, relentless, holding you down as you writhe.
Joel grits his teeth, watching you fall apart, his strokes turning rougher, breath ragged. “Goddamn it.” His gaze burns at the way your body shakes, how your moans break into gasps.
It doesn’t take long. Pleasure coils tighter, spiraling until it snaps. You cry out, thighs trembling as you come. Arthur groans against you, licking you through every wave, refusing to stop until you’re shaking.
When you finally sag against the mattress, panting and wrecked, Arthur pulls away, wiping his mouth. His jaw is slick, eyes dark with satisfaction. “Think she liked that.” His fingers stroke over your inner thighs, teasing. “Sweet as honey.”
Joel clenches his jaw, his cock thick, heavy, flushed a deeper shade than normal. “Fuck,” he growls, gripping your thigh, spreading you wider. His voice is rough, raw with hunger. “Need to be inside ya, darlin’.”
Arthur chuckles, breathless. “That so?” He shifts up, hovering, smug. “Think I should get a turn first, Miller.”
Joel’s eyes flash. “Like hell you will.”
They hold each other’s gaze, both rock hard, both determined. Neither will be satisfied until they’ve both had you.
Arthur shifts back, but not in surrender. A challenge. He lets Joel take his place between your legs, then leans in, his breath hot against your ear. “C’mon, sweetheart,” he murmurs, fingers teasing down your stomach. “Tell him whose cock you wanna feel first.”
A needy whimper slips past your lips. Your legs spread wider in silent invitation. Desperation threads through your voice. “Joel—please.”
Joel groans, victorious, guiding himself against your entrance. “That’s a good girl.”
With one brutal thrust, he buries himself to the hilt, knocking the breath from your lungs. You whimper, still trembling from your release, but Joel hushes you, voice softer now. “You can take it, baby. You want it bad, don’t you?”
The stretch burns, but it’s a sweet, aching pain drowned out by the desperate pulse of need. Joel presses his forehead to yours, his breath ragged, his hips already snapping into a deep, unrelenting rhythm. He’s relentless, making up for lost time, proving something with every thrust.
Arthur exhales sharply, his cock twitching at the sight of you unraveling beneath Joel.
A deep, broken moan rips from your throat, your fingers digging into Joel’s biceps.
“Hell baby feel so good,” he grits out, head dropping to your shoulder. “So goddamn tight.”
Arthur watches, smirking. “Damn, sweetheart. Feels good, don’t it?” He tilts your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze. “Bet you’re squeezin’ him so fuckin’ tight.”
Joel’s jaw tenses. “Ain’t gonna last if you keep talkin’ like that.”
Arthur chuckles darkly. “Then I better make it worse.”
His hand drifts lower, brushing featherlight over your swollen clit. The jolt of sensation sends a wrecked moan spilling from your lips.
Joel curses. “Son of a bitch—”
Arthur grins, circling slow, lazy strokes, watching you shudder. “What’s wrong, Miller? Too much for ya?”
Joel growls, slamming deeper. “I can handle my fuckin’ business.”
Arthur doesn’t stop, his murmured praises filthy and relentless as Joel fucks you harder, driving you into his hold. “That’s it, baby,” Joel rasps. “Takin’ it so fuckin’ well.”
Arthur presses a kiss to your jaw, fingers working you over. “Come again, sweetheart. Let him feel you clench up nice ‘n tight—then it’s my turn.”
Pleasure coils in your belly, overwhelming, consuming. Arthur watches, his grip tight around his cock, stroking in quick, eager pumps. His jaw flexes, frustration flickering in his dark gaze before he moves.
No hesitation. No warning. Just action.
His hands grip your hips, shoving Joel’s hold aside like he’s claiming you for himself. Joel doesn’t even glance back—but his fingers tighten, sensing exactly what Arthur’s about to do.
Arthur spreads you wider, pressing in beside Joel, the stretch sharp and immediate. Your body struggles to take them both.
Joel curses, breath wrecked. “You feel that, baby? Takin’ both of us like you were made for it.”
They move in tandem, one pulling out as the other pushes in, a brutal rhythm that has you seeing stars. The pressure, the stretch, the way they fill you—it’s too much, too good.
Joel’s head falls back, a guttural moan tearing from his throat as his cock grinds against Arthur’s with every deep thrust. Skin slaps, breaths tangle, and they stretch you to your limit.
Then Arthur grips the back of Joel’s neck, crashing their mouths together. It’s rough, desperate—teeth clashing, tongues fighting for control.
Joel groans into the kiss, hips snapping harder, like he’s trying to fuck you so good Arthur can feel it too. He fists a hand in Arthur’s hair, yanking him closer, deepening it with a low, wrecked sound.
The sight makes your head spin. The way they lose themselves in each other, needy and ravenous, it’s intoxicating. You reach between them, wrapping your hand around Arthur’s cock pulling it from its warm home, slick from where he’s been inside you.
Arthur jerks, gasping, his eyes blown wide. He moves, shifting toward your head, his cock brushing your lips in silent demand.
You take him in, hollowing your cheeks, sucking him deep. Arthur curses, fingers twisting in your hair, guiding your movements.
Joel’s thrusts stutter, then recover—harder, relentless. “Jesus christ,” he grits out, watching the way you take Arthur. His cock twitches inside you, throbbing. “Fuckin’ perfect.”
Arthur groans, hips jerking. “That’s it, sweetheart. Takin’ us so damn good.”
Joel’s mouth crashes back to Arthur’s, their kiss messy, desperate. They groan into each other, bodies moving in perfect rhythm—Joel stretching you open, Arthur hitting the back of your throat, pleasure spilling over in waves.
The tension builds, unbearable. Joel’s grip tightens, thrusts turning erratic before he shudders, spilling deep inside you with a wrecked moan, forehead pressed to Arthur’s.
Arthur isn’t far behind. His grip in your hair tightens as he comes, thick and hot down your throat, his moans swallowed by Joel’s mouth as they kiss through it. His free hand flexes against Joel’s neck, holding him close even as his hips still.
For a long moment, the only sound is ragged breathing, the slow cooling of sweat-slicked bodies. Joel presses his forehead to yours, fingers smoothing over your waist, grounding himself. Arthur trails lazy patterns over your skin—unexpectedly gentle after the desperation of moments ago.
Joel finally breaks the silence, voice low and hoarse. “What the hell was in those shots?”
Arthur lets out a breathless chuckle. “Just know I ain’t never felt somethin’ like that before.”
You hum, fingers threading through Joel’s damp curls as he nuzzles into your neck, his body still half-draped over yours. “Guess that makes three of us.”
Arthur’s fingers ghost along your hip, voice quieter now, but dark with something possessive. “Y’think it’s outta our system?”
Joel’s hand slides over your stomach, flexing like he’s already thinking about round two. “Hope not.” His smirk brushes against your skin before he nips at your shoulder. “Ain’t done with you yet, darlin’.”
Arthur chuckles, warm and dark against your ear. His teeth scrape your pulse, his hand gripping your thigh. “Reckon neither am I.”

Tin Soldier
Gwayne returns from Rook's Rest to King's Landing where his wife has been patiently waiting for him, knowing he would need stress relief.
Gwayne Hightower x Reader | 2k+ | cw: fem!reader, wife!reader, pwp idk what to tell you, ok nvm porn with feelings, gwaynes BRATTY, smut (piv, bdsm, pet play??, biting, marking, scratching), fluff can you believe that, typos, etc.
A/N: inspired by this post. i wish @barbieaemond and @targs-on-zorses a very much i hope you suffer
"Oh, praise the gods," I mutter under my breath once I spot the two knights entering through gates of the Keep. I dismiss my handmaiden and head towards them.
Gwayne and Criston spot me, the former's hardened face softens. I offer them a smile and clasp my hands, "very good. The Mother has delivered you whole." I nod in regard, "ser Criston."
The said man nods, "my-"
"You would greet another man before your husband, woman?"
I turn to Gwayne. His jaw clenches. I hold back a grin and pucker my lower lip instead, "I only wished to thank the Hand for returning my love to me with no missing limbs."
He scoffs. His horse trots in place. Gwayne does not enjoy that. He very much did not enjoy that.
"I should thank your husband for doing the same for me, my lady," Criston replies, making me turn back to him.
I smile. Gwayne dismounts. "Then I rejoice in knowing you both will return safely so long as you have each other."
A stable boy comes to get my husband's ride. He spares me no glance when he walks passed me. I turn to my feet with a chuckle, rubbing my belly that bubbled in excitement, "welcome home, ser." We share a nod before I chase after my lord.
He is walking incredibly fast.
I gather my skirts, "my lord!"
Gwayne does not stop. He only continues to storm to our shared chambers. When he reaches the stairs, I break into a sprint, laughing as I did, "lord husband!"
Needless to say, my calls fall deaf on his ears. I have to catch my breath once I enter the room.
"RETURN ME?!"
I close the door behind me, eyes not leaving my armored lover as he paces around the room. My breath hitches at the sight of him. Oh, how I missed the clanking of his steel uniform.
Gwayne turns back to me, pointing a harsh finger to the ground, "WOULD THAT I BE THE ONE RETURNED-
My eyes sparkle at his vexed expression.
"OH! IF YOU ONLY KNEW HOW COLE WAS-"
I reach for his breastplate, "twas a jest."
"Well, you jest wrongly," he glares, swatting my hands away. I press my lips together to suppress my smile. He charges towards the vanity, "you now not how insufferable that Dornishman is."
He begins to undo the cuffs on his forearm. Oh, by the Seven, he was actually upset. He never removed his own armor, not when I was present. I sigh, "Gwayne-"
"Do not-" he pulls roughly on his sleeve "-address me, woman."
I purse my lips and grab his shoulder plate. He shrugs me off dramatically and I reel back in momentary shock, only to huff and grab him by his steely collar.
He glares at me.
I raise my brows, mouth opening to start a new argument. But his face, marked with hurt, though dramatic, makes my heart tinge. I decide not to pursue it.
He recognizes this and lifts his nose. His brows quirk in challenge.
I tilt my head and sigh, "begging your pardon, my lord," I brush my hands down to the sigil on his heart, "tis distasteful to speak on matters I know not of."
Gwayne stares at me for a moment. I peer at him through my lashes, absentmindedly drawing shapes on his chest, "I submit. I wish not to quarrel."
He does not reply, but he visibly relaxes, save for the way his brows knit, "my lips."
My eyes fall to his mouth where a cut laid on the bottom corner, "yes. You've been cut." I pull away to grab some ointment for it, "we shall treat your lip again after your bath."
He watches as I go through the vials on the table. Just as I open the lid of the salve, I feel his rigid body press against my back. I look over my shoulder, gazing up at his face as he embraces me.
"You have not kissed them," he mutters, "you insult me twice, wife."
Oh, what darling. I pretend to think, "I thought I was woman."
"Wrong again," he takes the vial from me, setting it down with little attention. He turns me around and traps me against the vanity, "my woman."
He wastes no more time keeping our lips separate. Gwayne picks me by the waist and sits me on the table as his lips reacquaint themselves with mine. My body melts against him, my legs part to welcome him between and my hands sneak their way into his nape.
He pulls away, "damn this helmet."
I giggle but stop him when he tries to rid himself of it. He raises a brow then sighs, "not again."
"What?" I laugh innocently, "it suits you well."
He shakes his head but makes no further move to rid himself of his steel hat. He does however begin to bunch my skirts up. I mumble, "my tin soldier."
He groans. "Perhaps I'll fuck you in my helmet, vixen," he wraps my legs around him, "see how you like it."
I gleefully retort, "so long as you fuck me, ser-" he begins to kiss my neck, "I will be- OH!"
Gwayne sharply pulls away, face concerned.
I cover my mouth with my hands, "I'd nearly forgotten!"
He can do nothing but watch as I wrangle out of our position and shoo him away. He grumbles as I go through a drawer, "I got you a gift."
"Must you give it to me now?"
I laugh and turn back to him once I have it in my hand, "I find you will regret it if I do not give it to you sooner."
His brow quirks in interest.
I grin and motion with my head, "to the bed with you."
Gwayne is sat on the side of the bed in an instant. He eagerly looks at me. I saunter over with a look of mischief. His eyes widen when I kneel by his feet. At this point, he knew exactly what my surprise was and he simply reaches a hand out to me.
I place a bell in his palm. Gwayne releases a deep breath that breaks into an excited chuckle, "oh, my girl, you might regret this."
I simply look at him with a smile.
He stares at me, knowing then that our game had started. His lips part infinitesimally as he basks in the power he now had. He rings the bell, "you may speak your mind, pet."
"Thank you, ser."
Gwayne rings it again, "get me out of this fucking armor."
"Yes, ser," I say, coming to my feet to undo his top. I feel his eyes on me as I do so.
He releases a breath, hands coming to my side, "I have free rein on your body, do I not?"
"Of course, ser."
"Mmm," he rubs my ass then smacks it, "strip for me," he rings the bell.
I turn to him, "after I-"
"Now," he blurts.
I pull away from him and begin to undo the ties of my dress. It is a slight struggle but not impossible. Once my dress drops to the floor and I'm left in my shift, he rings his bell, "stop."
I still where I stand.
"And your smallclothes," he rings.
I oblige, pulling them and letting them drop to the floor. He reaches a hand out, ringing again, "come to me."
I take his hand and he spreads his legs. I sit on his lap and he rings, "you may proceed, pet."
I continue to undo his armor, "of course, ser."
Ring. "Kiss me as you do so."
I do not speak, only follow the command. I kiss him intermittently as I finally remove a shoulder plate. It is considerably harder to do than undoing my dress because of all the latches. I decide to prioritize undressing him, but it seems that was a mistake.
He snakes his hand up my skirt and squeezes my inner thigh, "my lips are wanting yours, pet."
"I am doing my best, se-"
"Well, try harder."
Gwayne thoroughly enjoys my struggle and unabashedly complains when I am not kissing him. I begin to grow increasingly frustrated when I prioritize kissing him yet finds it in him to complain about how hot his armor is. At some point, I begin throwing the metal I do get off him angrily to the ground.
His chuckle is deep, "careful, pet. That is your lord's armor."
"Fuck your armor," I grunt, chucking his cuffs to the floor.
He laughs and licks his lips.
"I was given permission to speak my mind, was I not? I mutter, sliding off his lap to undo the cuffs on his legs.
"I did not give you leave to leave my lap," he stares at me.
I glare at him and sit back down. He examines me for a moment, rings his bell, and chirps, "get off."
I sigh and stand.
"Uh-ta-ta-ta-ta," he grabs my arm and raises a finger. He looks up at me, shrugging, "what do we say?"
I suck in a breath and force a smile, "of course, ser. Thank you, ser."
"Good," he raises the bell before ringing it, "proceed."
I drop to my knees and continue to rid him of his wretched armor. He brushes my hair back and rubs my lips, "indeed again, you you are not kissing me."
I huff, looking up at him. His eyes sparkle as I say, "a thousand apologies, ser." I attempt to do the impossible, kissing him while undoing the cuffs on his shins. Amazingly, I eventually complete the task and do so with another huff.
Gwayne rings his bell and knocks on his helmet, "you missed one, pet."
I sit on his lap and place my hands on his shoulders. He watches me as I frown. I look at him pleadingly but he allows me no satisfaction. I have no choice but to take his helmet off. He snakes an arm around me, "hard, that one, was it?"
I place his helmet on the night stand and kiss him, "I wish to please my lord."
He smirks, "then shall you be rewarded." He carelessly chucks the bell behind him, causing me gasp, "Gwayne!"
"I enjoyed our little game but find I no longer have the patience for it," he grabs my thighs and turns me on him.
"That's why we keep losing the bell, you keep throwing it!"
"Fuck the bell," he quips, making me straddle him, "I want to fuck my wife."
The next thing I know, my dress is being ripped off and he's hastily undoing his breeches. I cannot help my laugh as I shift atop him to free himself, and once he is, I grind on his hardened cock, making him grit his teeth. I bask in the feel of him after removing his shirt. By the gods, how I've missed the feel of his chest on my palms.
He allows me to dote on his scars and freckles. I could weep at his beauty. He then sinks his head into the crook of my neck and I wrap my arms around him.
"My wife," he licks a stripe to my jaw, "I dream about your skin."
I brush my fingers up his hair and tug gently, "Gwyane."
"I miss your taste," he mutters in between kisses. He tightens his hold on me, "I miss your taste, miss your skin, miss your lips, my love," he rakes his fingers up my back, "did you miss me?"
I moan as I sink myself down on him. He squeezes my shoulders and drops his jaw.
I grab his cheeks and press our foreheads together, "missed you so much— missed your touch, missed having you inside me, missed your smart mouth."
He chuckles and kisses me, "missed yours." Gwayne begins to buck into me, arms tight around my waist.
I grunt and bring his face into my chest, throwing my head back as I ride him. He sucks on my skin, intent to leave evidence of him on me. I tangle my fingers into his hair then pepper kisses on his forehead. He smelled of sweat and dirt and ash; I relish every bit of him.
I whimper when he sinks his teeth into the side of my throat before suckling. I clench around him in response. I pull his hair and speak his name. He replies with a moan, grazing me with his teeth once more.
My riding becomes harder. The sound of our breath and the utterance of each other's names mingle with the creak of the bed and the wet sound of slapping skin. He grabs my hips, flesh spilling between his fingers, and bites his nails into me. He huffs, guiding me into faster and rougher pace.
I lean my forehead on his once more, darting my tongue to his lips. He chases my tongue, catching it between his teeth, then does the same to my lips. I whimper when I taste blood. He licks the iron off and trails kisses to my ear, "come on my cock, baby, want you to come with me."
I whimper out and nod, "Gwayne."
"Come on," he mutters, "come, my love."
Pressure builds inside me, and we soon both grow erratic. There is a thick silence before guttural cries reverberate through the room. My body comes alive. The thick, hot, pleasure is so intense my breath is knocked out of my lungs and I quickly feel myself seize up.
My husband, ever dutiful, sinks his nails into my thighs and fucks out every last bit of the melting sensation from the both of us. A hoarse noise rips from my throat and makes my toes curl into my soles. Gwayne even overcompensates and plows into me until I'm reeling. I knew it was too much for him too, and so I supply him with the shaky whimpers I knew he desperately craves.
I feel lightheaded by the time he stops. He rests his head on me before finally collapsing on his back, taking me down with him. His chest rises and falls rapidly, our skin now sticky with sweat.
His hands rest on my thighs. I bring mine to both his shoulders. I pant against his jaw, "that was intense."
He hums, "well," he huffs, "you missed me too much."
"No," I nuzzle into his neck and draw shapes on his skin, "you missed me too much."
He brushes his nose against my head, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I didn't miss you at all."
"Good. I didn't miss you either."
He rubs my skin, eyes fixed on the ceiling. Out of nowhere, he whines in a high pitched voice, "OH Gwayne- OH! You feel so gOOD- AH AH-"
I swat him and with a dropped jaw. I lift my head and glare at him, "I did NOT say that!"
Gwayne's eyes fall on me, lips pursing. He brings one arm behind his head and takes the other to my cheek. My belly flutters at the sight of him. He was beautiful like this, shining after our love making. His rough thumb rubs my face, "pity." He brushes my hair back, "I'm going to have to fix that."
I roll my eyes at him but I am unable to fight back my smile.
He smiles back. His eyes soften and his voice is careful, "... did you miss me, my love?"
"Gods," I nearly roll my eyes at the back of my head, "oh, my sweet boy. My sweet pathetic boy who I so terribly missed."
He grins. The lines by on his cheeks only deepen when he laughs.
My stomach rolls again. I speak in earnest, capturing his cheek, "every day, I thank the Seven that I bask in your beauty."
Gwayne's eyes rove over me. He rubs my arm, "we should have another babe."
I scoff, "Gwayne-"
