very important to me that buck's crush on tommy was highlighted through establishing buck's dislike for basketball. it shows that (a) he has absolutely zero problems to tell eddie, maddie, chim, and albert that he doesn't wanna play basketball because he dislikes basketball. which means he is, in fact, an adult who is capable of knowing what he likes and dislikes, and who voices that honestly. and it also beautifully shows that buck (b) will go to great lengths to try and spend time with someone he likes, even by doing something he very much dislikes, and (c) is completely unable to hide his jealousy even for like a couple of hours 😂❤️

WOO YAY im glad i could inspire you to start writing!!!🙏and i get it, writing fanfic is defs self indulgent and for ourselves first and foremost, but obvs nobody wants to release their work into the void😩 as for how my own fic got popular, one of the main things is defs timing. i published the first chap basically within the first week of the game being out (it came out on the 10th and my chap was on the 18th) so it was there right at the peak/start of the fandom. but i also dont wanna attribute it all to timing BAHHA cuz i think im a pretty good writer and that helps....my fic also didnt get popular right away, but i was consistently posting every single week + eventually started adding art every single week, and was just really dedicated to not only writing but also drawing art for it (which is also obvs another huge factor/probs the biggest factor). ive had so many ppl tell me they started reading my fic bc they saw my art on pinterest or something LOL, and some ppl have even read it fandom-blind bc they were into the seb/clora dynamic??? which is another point actually. i always joke about how i love my cliches and good girl+bad boy dynamics, and that im unashamed about loving them LOL, but also...they're cliches for a reason!!! lots of us eat that shit up!!!😤so i think thats defs another factor, vs if my fic was a bit more niche and avant garde LOL the fandom is also (understandably) a lot slower than it was at the beginning of the year so itll be harder in general, but maybe you could commission art to go with your fanfic? ive seen a lot of other HL fanfic writers do it, and i think it defs helps to draw attention! Albert James Moriarty

You two met during a soiree. You were working as a server when a noble lady accused you of poisoning her drink.

 You quickly debunked her statement and revealed the culprit, who was a nobleman with the poison left over on his fingertips and sleeves.

While the culprit was being dragged out by the police, he managed to break free and stole a sword from one of the armor on display.

Albert was about to step in but you managed to steal the sword in his hand and subdue him.

This completely caught Albert's attention, watching how you calmly proved your innocence and showcased your knowledge of medicine and poison and how you protected yourself with finesse.

After consulting with William, he went on to recruit you, seeing potential in your skills to help their cause.

And now, you were appointed as Albert's personal maid.

During gatherings, you're usually a poison tester and his shield-- I mean personal bodyguard from flirtatious noblewomen. (Much to your dismay)

This became a permanent position when someone tried to poison his wine at a gathering.

But he usually compensates by giving you rare herbs and ingredients.

That doesn't mean you stopped trying to find any means to not go to social gatherings though.

When you're experimenting, you can generally see him looming around--looking at your works and asking questions.

You'd ask him why the sudden interest, but he usually brushes them off as mere curiosity.

He likes listening to you talk about different medicines and herbs, finding it fascinating and even joining you in gathering herbs from the forest or planting them in the garden.

He once made you a special sweater that smelled like peppermint for Christmas, providing pockets for the herbs you collect. 

William James Moriarty

You two met when you were kids, back before William and Louis were still living in the slums.

You would try to give some medicine or painkillers to Louis whenever his heart condition acts up.

You and William also browsed the library and whatever books you could get your hands on about medicine and illnesses.

You two would stay by Louis' side to take care of him when his condition gets severe.

You try to look after William, scolding him when he pushes himself too far and nursing him back to health when needed.

But he usually teases you with how you would try poison in your free time, despite you explaining it's for research purposes.

However, you were separated when the two brothers were adopted by the Moriartys.

Until one day, you found two familiar faces in noble attire knocking on your door.

You became the team's medic and support.

He even prepared your own laboratory for your experiments, stocked with different herbs, plants, and ingredients.

Unfortunately, the poisons are all locked and only he and Louis have the key.

William usually has you at the back with Herder and Jack during missions, not wanting you to get into trouble despite knowing how to fight.

You're also his spar partner whenever he wants to sharpen or practice sword fighting.

Unsurprisingly, William usually wins. But he lets you have a victory every once in a while.

He also likes spending time with you in your office, watching you work on your latest creation, or listening to you explain or talk out loud, saying it brings him some sort of peace whenever he's in there with you.

Louis James Moriarty

Same with William's, you both met back when you were kids before they got adopted.

Whenever William is busy trying to find a way to buy food or other essentials, you would stay by his side and try to give him painkillers or medicine.

Sometimes, you would even bring some soothing aromatic plants to help him rest or talk to him about medicine and poison to distract him from the pain.

You even try to make food or snacks that are healthy or help his condition.

He's amazed at the knowledge you possess that even he and his brother couldn't find in books, let alone the passion you have for apothecary.

This doesn't mean he'll let you test anything and everything you can get your hands on.

Not after seeing you accidentally blow up something during an experiment.

Same as William's, you separated after being taken to an orphanage but met again years after and were recruited.

You usually stay at home and help Louis with managing the manors, along with making medicine for everyone.

You usually help him in the kitchen, trying new healthier recipes and avoiding poisonous ingredients.

The poor man has a panic attack every time you taste test poisons with a joyful expression.

He practically child-proofed the house to make sure you didn't do anything too reckless with your tests and experiments.

He also makes sure you don't create anything bizarre whether it's a request or a harmless trial, like an aphrodisiac or hallucinogen.

You two also share advice and spar when it comes to using the blade, despite you using a sword and him focusing more on knives.

You even try to make suggestions, like putting poison on his blade but William quickly shut down the idea.

Billy the Kid

You were assigned as his partner by the Pinkerton Detective Agency.

At first, you were both against it. With Billy's history and you're lack of social skills mixed with his cheerful personality, it was a recipe for disaster.

However, you two managed to work together and somehow fit each other's style, fighting in tandem with your sword and his revolvers.

You're usually in the front lines while he watches your back and blind spots.

Despite facing your enemies head-on, Billy makes sure you don't get hurt and takes the hit when he sees you about to get hurt.

Earning a lecture from you while you tend to his injuries, saying he shouldn't throw himself into danger and you can defend yourself.

Additionally, he usually takes charge when it comes to talking to clients or other people while you stay in the back.

...Maybe looking around the area for any herbs or plants that pique your interest.

This is why Billy usually keeps an eye on you and makes sure you focus on the mission, dragging you by the collar or hand, sometimes even linking your arm with his to make sure you don't wander off.

When you're in your lab experimenting, it doesn't take long before Billy is knocking on your door with fruit snacks, sometimes he even brings some plants he thinks you would like.

While you're working, he's usually in the back looking at the different apparatuses and ingredients on the shelves, asking questions.

It doesn't help when he tries teasing you, saying how unfriendly and awkward you are with people to get a response.

He even stretches your cheeks to see you smile despite your annoyed expression when he's feeling extra bored.

Unfortunately, it only extends to the nicknames he gives you and the corny jokes he'd tell you in between missions.

And the day he finally sees you laughing your heart out, he'll never let you live it down and try to recreate that sound from you.

↑ 1830s menswear. the fashion in this era is so over the top i thought it suits albert so well xD i drew this after only a bit of research so i focused too much on the shape and not the movement so it looks a bit stiff... i want to draw it again after doing more research!

now for my fav period for men's fashion... 1790s! love the frills and ribbons hehehe

i still have a loooot of studying to do with historical fashion 😭🙏 i try my best doing my research but as you can see with the albert drawing, if i focus too much on the clothes it'd look stiff instead. learning the movements of clothes you don't see often and figuring out how to draw them in your style is hard! 😂

S4:E4 9-1-1, What’s your grievance?

i’m sorry but the scene where Buck is punching the punching bag and Eddie is right beside it is kindaaa…

S4:E5 Buck begins

One thing that i can take away from Eddie and Buck’s interactions, especially in this episode, is that they understand each other like no one else. Eddie tells Buck that he knew why he had to go into that fire, and something in his eyes makes me think that Buck felt like he didn’t have to explain anything to Eddie

S4:E6 Jinxed

bonus: did anyone notice all the women checking out Buck at 13:56 😂

and then Buck looking angry/confused when eddie said he had a date with Anna

S4:E7 There Goes the Neighborhood

why did Buck have to go on a date with the most annoying woman ever, i think it was weird timing with Eddie starting to date again.

And then they decide to keep her as Albert’s gf, but all of her traits are gone now? i felt like they introduced an anarchist and pessimist and then she starts dating Albert and it all goes away? plot device smh

S4:E8 Breaking Point

Buck babysitting Christopher while Eddie’s out on his date :”) and when he’s home Buck asks how did the date go and Eddie tells him “she taught me math” and he wasn’t lying??

S4:E12 Treasure Hunt

Eddie heard treasure hunt and immediately told buck we’d make a good team :) it was cute seeing them running around trying to find it, although Eddie did look sad when he found out Buck had already partnered with Taylor :(

S4:E13 Suspicion

Carla talks to Eddie and tells him that he needs to listen to his heart and not only to what Christopher needs.

At the end of the episode Eddie is shot, right in front of Buck, the world literally stopped and they looked into each other’s eyes. 😭 then when they are both on the ground Eddie reaches out with his hand to Buck. and it is said that Oliver (Buck’s actor) got their silouette tattooed after filming :”)

S4:E14 Survivors

ooohh my god. following the gunshot Buck pulls Eddie out of the middle of the streets and then carries him to get him in the truck (hot? 😃) in the truck Buck is tending to Eddie (is it a bad time to say that i love how Buck’s voice gets all high and pitchy when he’s freaked out?)

Buck “hey hey i got you, hey just… you just stay with me okay?” looking into his eyes 😭✋

Eddie “are you hurt?” (cause Buck was covered in his blood) honey you’re bleeding how can you focus on Buck (no but also let’s never forget Eddie is a BAMF who also pulled out a convoy from open fire in the war)

Buck “i need you to hang on” x2

Buck is COMPLETELY out of it shaking so much, but still all he wants to do is go with Christopher and be with him.

when he gets the news that Eddie is out of surgery he breaks down crying. guys idk about you but this doesn’t seem like simply just a friendship.

Anna calls Buck to tell him that Eddie woke up, first of all he makes sure Eddie makes a facetime call with Christopher.

Eddie “appreciate you staying with him”

Buck thought Chris should stay somewhere he knew, because carla offered to take him to her house.

Eddie “you were there for him when i couldn’t, that’s what matters.”

i love these two together, they aren’t just a bromance, they jumped straight to functional family.

Eddie babytrapped Bick, he made him Christopher’s godfather 😭 also i don’t see the big deal? a lot of people have said that it was wrong for Eddie to do that but Buck would 100% be up for the job and he already has a village that could help

“no one will ever fight as hard for my son as you”

i think this is the first time Eddie calls him Evan and it is so cute 😩

“because 😒 Evan 🙄 you came in here the other day and you said you thought it would have been better if it had been you who was shot😠”

Oliver tut mir so leid, die Streitszenen von seinen Eltern sind echt schlimm und dann soll er sich auch noch zwischen seinen Eltern entscheiden! Und Ira hat auch Probleme mit ihrem Vater ... oh man, wenn das alles nur nicht so realistisch wäre, dass fast jeder aus der Generation irgendwo problematische Eltern hat... 😭😭 (Aber was ist denn bei Budhi los?? "Vollliditiot, voll pubertär" - wird er durch den Katharina-Entzug jetzt schon selbst wie sie?) Wenigstens unterstützen Nadine, ihre Mutter und Guppy ihn ganz toll! Was hat sein Vater eigentlich für ein Problem damit, dass Oliver ins Internat will?

Tom und seine Formel für die Liebe: (Eigenverlangen + Fremdverlangen)^2 = Liebe 🥺 Die Ohrfeige von Alexandra ist echt total untypisch für sie, aber sie ist halt irgendwie verständlicherweise auch total überfordert damit, dass ihr Kumpel Tom ihr auf einmal aus dem nichts seine Liebe gesteht? Ich werte es mal als Übersprungshandlung und hoffe sie hat sich dafür bei ihm entschuldigt! Aber Pasulke wieder so goldig, wie er Tom zwar irgendwie innerlich belächelt, ihn aber trotzdem ernst nimmt und ihm total auf Augenhöhe erklärt, dass er seine Formel noch um den Faktor "Gefühl" ergänzen muss ♥️

Pascal ist mal sympathisch, als er sich für Ira bei Wolfert einsetzt! Dann bringt er auch noch das Schülergericht ans Einstein - das ist echt ein super Konzept (könnte im Übrigen ja auch was für Staffel 28 und den Rechtsfall sein? 👀). Kinder und Jugendliche können so viel tolles erschaffen und dabei ganz natürlich lernen, wenn man ihnen Vertrauen und Verantwortung übergibt! Aber die Verhandlung gibt mir irgendwie Nachmittags-Gerichtsshow-Vibes wie alle so sensationsgeil im Publikum sitzen und laut reinrufen (Meine investigativen Recherchen haben ergeben, dass es 1998 nur im ÖR Gerichtssendungen gab und die in den Privaten erst ab 1999 gestartet sind - oder haben sich Barbara Salesch und Alexander Hold von SE inspirieren lassen? 😂)

Tom und Alexandra haben sich in jedem Fall wieder vertragen und arbeiten schon wieder am nächsten Forschungsprojekt zur Zimmereinteilung nach Schlafrhythmus. Hab mich dabei sehr über das Wort "ratzen" für "lange schlafen" amüsiert, ist das im Berliner / Brandenburger Raum ein gängiges Wort? Ich wäre auf jeden Fall wie Iris, wenn sich jemand von meinen Mitschüler:innen plötzlich nachts an mein Bett setzen würde 😡 Guppys "Sympathiemodell" würde ich zwar auch bevorzugen, aber habe mich dabei gefragt, wie neue Schüler:innen dann eingeteilt werden. Bei denen weiß man ja noch nicht, mit wem sie sich gut verstehen? (Und auch gut, dass er nochmal die Trennung nach Mädels und Jungs erwähnt - looking at you, Frau Schiller)

I am absolutely bursting at the seams to scream about Morimyu Op 3.

Wanna write a very structured, intelligent analysis post but I don’t even know where to begin. Just … all of it.

— incoherent rambling about Moriarty the Musical Op 3 in-coming so quick — scroll if you don’t wanna see!

The way William’s yearning is portrayed. And Sherlock’s frustration. All the little references to Sherlock being a puppet on William’s strings. The way William is so infuriating and yet heartbreaking in the same breath. I totally get what Shogo meant when he once said, ‘it would be nice if William could be honest.’

The songs.

Spinning Around the Rondo? That entire spectacle. The lyrics, but also the way William steers and manoeuvres Sherlock at his whim … and the fact that they’re dancing with one another. I just. The metaphors. It was everything I needed from them.

I also love how we see the theme of the scarlet thread connecting them — this idea that they’re both attached but William is the one literally ‘pulling the strings’ — again in the scene with the Jack the Ripper culprits murdered. William tugging on an invisible string as he leaves and Sherlock immediately turning up to investigate. Chills.

In This Lonely Room I think is my favourite song from all 5 Opuses. When I say my jaw hit the floor … the dialogue from Albert beforehand — “you seem quite taken with him” ????? Umm. Okay. So it’s not just us then 😂 WILLIAM. You have been perceived 👀

And Shogo’s perfect called-out expression. But the pain in his eyes like … he doesn’t want to be made to face reality. He was having fun with his own little delusions and fixation with Sherlock. He was living in happy denial. Why do you have to go and be all voice of reason and ruin it, Albert?? “It will only hurt you.” EXCUSE ME is this advice on dealing with an unhealthy crush from your older brother time? I DIED.

But anyway. The song. Oh god, the song. Shogo sang it so beautifully and emotionally it made my soul ache for William and he’s like … he’s got this little glimmer of hope in Sherlock and when he LIES ON THE SOFA and sings TO HIS HAND LIKE A LOVER and then CLUTCHES IT TO HIS HEART. I cannot. Breathe.

What were they thinking? HOW can anyone be normal about them after witnessing that?

All of the songs in the second half pretty much ended me, to be honest.

I’m not sure how many times two people need to sing about having each other in their hearts to get the message across. I heard it the first time. And the second. And the third. BOYS PLEASE I UNDERSTAND don’t make it hurt more.

And then … the Durham date? THE DURHAM DATE!?

Ryo’s acting here was so good. The range of emotions he goes through during his talks with William — from notice me senpai to omfg challenge accepted to oh god we just sang about changing the world together do we really have to return to the weighty matter of why I came here — the LOC — after that? To oh shit you really do want someone to stop you to actually the RELIEF because that means you are a good person underneath it all if it’s really you — and I hope it is because I want you to be as obsessed with me as I am with you.

WILLIAM’S SHERLOCK AFTER HE LEAVES? The way he smiles so full it’s visible even with the dimming lights.

And then the final song … the repetition and switching of ‘I hope’ and ‘I will.’

I now fully understand why Morimyu twitter cannot stop saying those phrases and I am fully with everyone because ever since watching Op 2 they have been echoing in my mind but NOW — now I feel them in my bones like a bloody mantra.

Yes, I am dramatic about this. What of it?

Ok, here's the write-up on my favourite tragic white-haired guy (from Gankutsuou)

1. How do I feel about him?

My poor cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure!! Kidding, mostly. But I do love him, and his funny anime haircut, and his steadfast too-human loyalty to the bitter end. Weeping as we speak.

2. All the people I ship him with (romantically)

Oh, obviously Albert. In some other happier universe they're together, because instead of Luna they picked a different destination and spent that whole summer figuring out some more pleasant things than the truth of betrayal and sacrifice. Let Paris burn.

As a crack ship, him and Maximilian could be an interesting. Opposites attracting, kind of.

3. Non-romantic OTP

The three of them (Albert, Eugenie and Franz) have a very sweet friend group dynamic (that gets tested in the show, yes. Ouch). Would watch a whole dumb slice of life story about them if given the chance)

4. Unpopular opinion

In the context of the story, his sacrifice was necessary. Doomed by the narrative and all. Not sure how unpopular it is, but I think often people who love a character wish them a different fate... No, he was too kind and saw too well what was happening.

5. One thing I wish had happened in canon

Just wish we had more time to spend with him as an audience 😭😭 Ok, fine, and I wish we got to see him more at the Carnival, kind of in the shape of what the book did.

what's your opinion on the theory that Dale might be the reincarnation of Albert Vanderboom or Nicholas Eilander? They all share deer imagery

1) good God I fucking HOPE NOT. Dale is so far from what Albert is like please 😭😭😭

2) well... That would make my Jackalope art pretty weird wouldn't it 😂 we said David has Dadeer issues but that's too far.

Fr tho aside from them sharing the deer mask, there's nothing connecting them. I do think Dale could be a reincarnation of SOMEONE, most likely a Vanderboom, but just don't know who.

Then sharing a mask could mean nothing. It's most likely symbolic more than anything. Tho what DEER is in the context of Rusty Lake is? Hard to tell. I mean I can see the Rabbit for David, sure. They symbolize youth and resurrection so it makes sense. But idk exactly what Deers could symbolize

I read that it might represent "evil" cuz Nicholas and Albert were both evil, which means Dale most likely will do something evil in the future. But I don't see this being true.

I also want to note a few things. Albert never wears a deer mask. He wears a deer skull. Not in the same way that Nicholas and Dale wear their masks

I don't think there's a connection between the three of them. They might just represent different aspects of the deer symbolism so I don't buy the theory for either.
