I feel bad for Starlo. (pt. 2)

Had they just let him get Clover the badge (and literally finish the best day of his life since, again, Clover's gotta go) and then all sat down to chat, everything would have been solved in minutes. Because clearly Starlo's main motivation is making sure other people are happy, right? If they tell him they're not happy, he'd sure as heck care about that. Just look at how he tells the group to have fun with Clover:

btw, this is a human they SHOULD be excited to talk to more since well... they're a human. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and they are SUPPOSED to be into the western culture almost as much as Star, or at least that's what Star thought. More on this later

Then you make a better one, Ed, instead of complaining, Star's mind was too occupied with everything, as it always is. The town needs to be led by someone every day after all. It's all harder than it looks, you've gotta focus on schedules, new ideas, and most importantly radiating positive energy even in the worst of times

And even if they hadn't, it really is logical to assume Ed didn't really mean he was terrified and was just acting to make the scene more "dramatic" The five of them ARE sort of actors anyway (why would he be scared tho? it's not a real train that's coming, no real danger here, just harmless fun)

And even if he DID act prouder than usual, he honestly had every right to do it. After everything he's tried to do for the underground, his friends and family, he had every right to lift himself up. How do I know he was nice? Aside from signs in the game, the gang only argued over trivial matters (IDK what exactly but Dina said this)

Why??? Star literally praised you and thanked you! What the heck?? Yeah life dealth him a bad hand but you're not doing anything about this situation aside from leaving.

I love all four of them, but honestly, It's not like Star ditched any of you, he didn't ever act angry (besides when Ed insulted his mission, which IS frustrating because: 1) he tried his best to make it enjoyable for everyone 2) this comment Ed made contradicts everything Starlo wanted to feel that day: genuinely proud, happy, useful, important. He wanted to enjoy himself as much as possible and bring as much joy to others as he could. And he was right to want that... especially after all he's already done. Or tried to do. Even though he's too fiery, too passionate, *too much,* why didn't anyone let him know this? Why didn't they tell him he's NOT been making anyone happy, aside from the tourists? Why keep lying to him until his breaking point?

Just... After thinking things through, I've started seeing things from a different pov. Yeah, the Four apologise to Clover in neutral, but Starlo STILL has to be the one to come to THEM for forgiveness. Forgiveness for what exactly? What did he do that was worse than what YOU guys did to HIM? (you too Ceroba, especially you, and I'll talk about this VERY soon, in a few days)

Forgetting to tie them off the rails (Ceroba forgot too) because he was too excited to well... feel like a somebody for the first time, like a real sheriff with a real deputy? Putting his needs and feelings first for once instead of walking outside his house at night and whispering to himself and thinking about every single problem he has on his plate? (I think it isn't the sheriff stuff he thinks about) Thinking he was doing the right thing by doing what he thought would be fun for everyone? Being kind to Clover? Not ditching his posse and just... idk, not running off to have an imaginary adventure with the human kid, with just the two of them? What the heck, guys.

Now, I'd understand if he'd been saying stuff like "Alright y'all, you better listen to everything I say, you understand!? Clover is the greatest thing since sliced bread, while all of you all nothing but a drag! Tch. Losers." Or "If you don't do this and that, you're fired for good! Clover will replace you! You're all lame anyway!" Or "Clover, get over here and join me on this and that! Right. NOW."

Starlo literally never said something even CLOSE to this. Only after Ed left did he let him and everyone else go, then blurted out "I was considering firing y'all anyway!" Honestly what I know about Star is that he's fiery and passionate and just snapped because he didn't understand why they left. He had done everything right.. right? He couldn't, no, wouldn't comprehend that his whole life in the Wild East has been a big fat lie. It hurt emotionally and his coping mechanism were always distractions. So he refused to see what he had (accidentally) caused.

In short, what bothers me is that all blame is put on Starlo and he's the only one who has to say sorry when he genuinely didn't know any better. Some folks just aren't introspective enough to notice people's true feelings and Star's one of them. And even if he's good at that, he's been so foused on this whole Wild East thing to think about that too, on top of everything.

He literally had to just stare off into the distance and rethink all his life choices that led him to this point (based on his letter), when instead he could have been a lone entertainer from the start. I mean, he carried all the comedy and charm on his own anyway (imo). He'd get to live his passion, plus entertain the tourists, plus boost his own confidence, PLUS none of his friends would be stuck at a job they hate! PLUS Ceroba, while still staying at Star's, could have gotten a better night's sleep with only the two of them being roommates! It would have been a win win win win win kinda situation if only they hadn't been lying to him for such a long time and just spoke up openly. Simple as that!

I also wish it had better writers. I've said it before but s2 is either going to be better than s1 or it will dive head first into a giant mess. The writing team really made some weird choices in the overall plot in s1. I'm hoping they've added some more people to the writing room for s2.

What would I do for Wenclair in s2?

I've said a few times now that I wouldn't make them a couple in s2 and I stand by that. I really agree with the cast that Wednesday needs to be single and that the show needs to focus less on her and romantic relationships. If they were to make it canon I want a slow burn baby!

Two things I really want to see in s2 though that would strengthen that bond are Wednesday saving Enid and Enid interacting with the Addams family. I'm a sucker for a parallel in story telling and to have a moment where Wednesday puts herself in danger to save Enid would just be exactly what I want to see. Also like everyone that ships Wednesday and Enid I am super into the idea of Enid getting the unconditional love she deserves from Gomez and Morticia and I just want scenes of her with that whole family. It would serve to show she could fit into their world.

Also this is far less meaningful in terms of the development of their relationship, but I want to see Wednesday see Enid go feral in her human form. Like let Wednesday see the Enid that destroyed that bus when she thought she was stood up by Ajax. I just know that would awaken something in her.

Everything that’s wrong with All American can be shown in the last episode. This show had a subplot where Layla is getting a fucking employee. That was the b storyline. What kind of teen show is this? Yeah let’s have a girls night out but really, it’s not a girls night where anyone has fun, nobody gets lit, nobody shares secrets, no fun is had by anyone, because it’s Layla it’s actually a BUSINESS MEETING, we’re talking BUSINESS. That Scott and Stiles scene just gave me alllll sorts of emotions.

Okay first, side note, I really wish Deaton's sister...whatever her name is...please hold...*searches internet* Ms. Morell! That's what it is. There are too many people to keep track of in this show. XD

Anyways.

Ugh how I wish she hadn't shown up in that moment. Like, I'm glad she's pointing us in the right direction with Lydia and everything, and I'm glad that, despite them being on opposite sides, she clearly cares about her brother, but we were soooo close to having Sheriff Stilinski find out, and UGH I really want him to find out. I feel like things'll be soooo much easier for the boys if Stiles' dad knows too, 'cause then they have two very supportive parents in powerful positions in the know about everything and completely on their side. It would make their lives soooo much easier.

But anyways. That's not the point.

The point is, THE WAY THAT SCENE HIT MY HEART OMG.

Because Scott is right. Telling him would likely make people easier to save. Telling him would theoretically save him some stress.

But Stiles is also right. Telling him would make him involved. Telling him would put him in even more danger than he's already been in.

But the way they were both so quick to agree with the other person to help each other I just...

First Stiles is arguing because he doesn't want his dad to get hurt, and he even acknowledges that Deaton is like a father to Scott and he GETS that, but that's the same reason that Scott totally gets why Stiles doesn't want to put his dad in any more danger. So the second Stiles says that he can't lose both parents, Scott backs down, because he would never want his best friend to have to go through that.

But the second Scott backs down, Stiles realizes that he's letting his emotions get in the way of a pretty smart and logical decision that would probably benefit them in the long run, and the way he backs down and agrees despite all of his emotions telling him not to because he KNOWS it's a good call is just...AHHH THE POOR BABY.

I love them and their relationship so much, and I feel so bad for them both, but I love how willing they are to listen to and be there for each other no matter what and I just...I LOVE THEM OKAY?! <3 <3 <3 <3

And on that note, SOMEBODY TELL ME WHEN NOAH STILINSKI FINALLY FINDS OUT GODD*MMIT! Because he HAS to at SOME point, right? Scott even said it.

asher’s zodiac chart

its been a minute since ive done one of these! time for me to do a deep dive into my personal thoughts on asher’s zodiac chart >:-) i do want to acknowledge that his chart is Very similar to the one i did for vincent, so i will do a little paragraph about that under the cut to explain the differences and similarities there (the rest of the character analysis and astrology ramblings will also be under the cut, as per usual)

first and foremost, i didnt intentionally create asher and vincent’s chart to be similar on purpose. it was a funny little accident! i originally wrote down ashers in the beginning of februrary and vincents at the end of march and then later saw that they were.. nearly identical. it forced me to confront the comparison between the two characters, which was very interesting to me. i want to look at where the differences lie in their charts; the rising sign and the mars sign (i gave vincent a sagittarius rising and scorpio mars). rising sign is extremely important when looking into the complexities of someone’s chart. its the only sign in the big six (slang term for the placements i cover in these posts) that is not a planet at all, it simply indicates the sign that rules your first house. in turn, it sets up the entire rest of your houses and their rulers. i dont cover houses in these posts mainly because there are a lot of different systems to use and i personally would need an exact day/time of birth in order to feel comfortable calculating that. it also would double the length of these posts, which are already extremely long. (i dont even think most people read the entire thing, its mostly just for me and so i can justify my choices and ramble lol) the main point im trying to make here is that your houses rule different areas in your life and your rising sign sets the order for the rest of them. in a simplified example to explain the significance of the rising sign as the first house ruler, asher’s second house ruler would be scorpio and vincent’s would be capricorn. the second house rules money, material things, and the concept of value. being ruled by those two very different signs would give them incredibly different outlooks on money, so imagine that applied to all twelve houses. the other thing thats different about their chart is the mars sign. mars rules passion, ambition, and drive (especially including sex drive). to save the length of this paragraph, ill get more into the differences in the mars paragraph.

now to get into what we are actually here for lmao

asher and being a leo sun; asher has a personality that is as bright and shining as the sun. he is outgoing, loving, and loyal. leo is ruled by the sun, so that means this is a placement in its domicile. this just means it feels very comfortable and at home here. basically, its an easy placement. imagine the sun feeling comfortable and at home. theres just something about leo suns that draws people in, and i think that definitely applies to asher.

i forgot if this is canon or not tbh but asher definitely loves food and finds comfort in it (especially pizza and wings, shout out to guy), which is definitely a taurus moon trait. also having a taurus moon is an exalted placement! this means that, while taurus is not ruled by the moon (its ruled by venus), this is an honored placement for it. imagine the moon saying “hey taurus i love you, you are a distinguished guest in my house and im going to make sure you like it here.” its like that basically. taurus moons are known for their steady and stable emotions and finding comfort in the finer things in life (like a romantic picnic with your mate).

your rising sign can determine people’s first impressions of you and have some influence over your physical characteristics. libras are an air sign (other air signs are gemini and aquarius), they are friendly, outgoing, and they love talking to people. libras, and air signs in particular, are known to love to gossip which is definitely something we’ve seen from asher. libra risings are also known to be very pretty because libra is ruled by venus and venus is associated with love and beauty (and i personally think asher is Very pretty <3).

honestly, my justification for asher’s mercury sign is very similar to vincent’s. theres a limited option for mercury signs due to the nature of the planet. it can only be the same as the sun sign or the sign before or after. this leaves the options as cancer, leo, and virgo. i see asher as a cancer mercury because he is extremely emotionally intelligent. mercury rules thinking and communication, amongst other things. cancer mercuries are very in touch with theirs and others emotions and can be quite sensitive in general. asher definitely has a sensitive side and is a character i tend to think of when i think of emotionally intelligent characters in the redacted universe.

venus is also limited in nature, but to the same sign as mercury or the two signs before and after. that makes the options gemini, cancer, leo, virgo, or libra. similarly to vincent, i think the options that make sense are leo or libra. and honestly for asher if someone told me they’d think its libra over leo, i definitely wouldn’t argue against that. he really could go either way. personally for me, it leans slightly more towards leo simply because of how passionate and fiercely he loves. his love is deep and true, in all relationships. he cares and you know it. he is not shy about it. for that, i think he is more of a leo venus.

last but certainly not least, the mars sign! back to the comparison between vincent’s and asher’s charts, we need to compare pisces and scorpio. they are both water signs but i would say they are fairly different. scorpios have a hint of darkness or edge about them. they tend to be serious and guarded. pisces are very dreamy and tend to have their head in the clouds. they are imaginative and can be quite sensitive. think about the difference between the depths of the ocean and babbling brook. thats scorpio and pisces. now apply that to the planet mars which rules over, as previously stated, passion, ambition, and drive. for asher specifically, pisces is a good fit. its a mutable sign which means they tend to be avoidant and can struggle with motivation sometimes (cough cough D.U.M.P papers for babe). but they are also very caring and lead with their hearts.
