nijiro murakami x fem!reader ; instagram au!!
tw: make out session, dirty talk (i don’t what came over me it’s just felt right sorry 😭😭)
pov: since nijiro doesn't post anything on his ig account, you're the one who leaks pictures about him from yours. fans go crazy every time you post anything, scrolling through your pictures, they search for even a glimpse of nijiro in the background or when you post a silly picture about him. you are beautiful too, they know this, because why wouldn't nijiro date a pretty girl and love her with all of his heart? you two complete each other so perfectly, it's an extra pleasure if you leak some nijiro content!!
"are you gonna post that too?" nijiro asks as you lay on his chest, scrolling through your phone that is full of photos about him.
"why? i think it's cute." you replied as he stroked your waist. you two were in tokyo, and after he got home after shooting the new season of alice in borderland, a heated makeout-session eased his mind, but you still felt the semi hard-on under your thigh.
"you don't need to raid your account with me. i know you are doing this for my fans too." furrowing your eyebrows, you made a fake gasp.
"no, i'm not!" then sighing, dropping down your phone, you kissed his neck. "i'm sorry 'jiro... just can't get enough from you. i want everybody to see how you really are." you muttered into his chest as he tiled both of you on your sides.
"that's okay. just don't leak the most important things about us." he said, making you laugh as he kissed down on your neck, to your shoulders. you were in for a session again, but you wanted more, and you knew he wanted too. and maybe, turning on the voice record, it could be the next tape in the hidden map of the most important things on your phone.
"our sex tapes are our sex tapes. and you... "you began to slip down with your hands on his lips and his chest, "...and your body..." down to the waistband of his boxer, "...and your everything is also mine. just as i'm yours." you whispered as the two of you kissed. nijiro took away your hand with his, sipping the other to open your bralette behind your back.
"did you said this intentionally to fire me up and make love to you all night?" he asked with a hoarse voice, turning you on your back, pushing his thigh in between yours, making you gasp and low-key grind down to it.
"yeah, maybe i did it." you whined as he get down to your abdomen, stroking your fingers between his locks, waiting to ease the built up tension between your legs, the phone and the posts long forgotten.
"good girl", nijiro's voices were muffled by the skin on your thigh, and you let yourself gasp into the night from the pleasure he gave you.
and nijiro? since you're his girlfriend, his fans makes fan accounts about you too, hyping you up and encouraging you to be a model, making edits about you two, but mainly you. he doesn't tell you, but he always looks about these pages, and he playfully rolls his eyes from time to time, as you grin, while showing him tweets about his account as he liked these videos and edits. although he doesn't follow anyone, after a long time, he gets one followed account. yours. isn't he cute?

ATSUSHI'S ( RANDOM ) VIRAL MOMENTS FROM DEBUT TILL NOW ( 2024 ) - a thread posted by user susushi on twitter on april 17th, 2024 which has since garnered over 600k views and 12k likes.
MOMENT #1 : GUESSING EXO SONGS WITHIN SECONDS ( aka him coming out as a huge exo supporter on a random variety show mid-2019 )
the first moment included within the twitter thread was a moment from 2019 in which atsushi had appeared on a variety show and after mentioning he was a fan of the group exo was put through a short "quiz".
in the original clip on youtube, the idol was asked if he had liked any other groups or what other artists he was into at the time to which he answered exo as the group he was a big fan of. the host of the variety show had quickly arranged a "quiz" for the idol to take where he had to listen to a series of exo songs and guess the songs.
atsushi was able to guess the songs : oasis, the eve, my lady, el dorado, love me right and a few others all within 2 - 5 seconds, surprising the host and the other guests on the variety show.
the original clip, posted mid-2019 on youtube originally sat at 5.8 million views before the thread was made and now sits at 6.7 million views.
MOMENT #2 : DEBUTING WITH HIS ( NOW SIGNATURE ) RED HAIR
the next moment included the debut of red hair!atsushi which since it's debut has became a very important era to carats, especially atsushi fans.
in the music video release for the seventeen song 'hit' atsushi had surprised fans by dying his hair a vibrant red color, much different from his usual blonde or darker colored hairs he had through previous eras.
he kept the vibrant hair color through hit and into fear and fans started mourning the loss of the red hair after he dyed it back to a more natural color after the eras had concluded.
MOMENT #3 : MAKING HIS MAIN CHARACTER DEBUT AS RYOHEI ARISU IN THE J-DRAMA "ALICE IN BORDERLAND"
2020 was a very interesting year for carats, mainly atsushi fans as he ended up appearing in three different dramas that year but the one that was most surprising was when he was announced to play the main character in the j-drama "alice in borderland".
most of his previous or current dramas he's often playing a side character so fans were very pleasantly surprised to get the news of him playing a main character.
he went viral quite a few times just from that show, a lot of even non-fans who had just came to know him from alice in borderland complimented his acting skills and the way he was able to portray the characters emotions and such.
MOMENT #4 : BLONDE WITH GLASSES ATSUSHI DURING ONE OF THE GOSE DEBATE NIGHTS ( locals on twitter asking who the smiley blonde guy with glasses was )
for the first episode of debate night #2 during the 2020 gose season, atsushi had just recently dyed his hair a bright blonde color leaving for him to be blonde during the filming.
on top of blonde!atsushi fans were also greeted with glasses!atsushi. it's known that he doesn't have the best vision within the group but he has said previously that he prefers wearing contacts over glasses so it's rare that he's seen with glasses making the perfect surprise for carats.
and also with how smiley he was during the whole episode. if he was on camera he was more than likely smiling which made atsushi's fans just go insane on twitter where he even made it to the non-carat side of twitter and kpop fans started asking "who's the blonde smiley guy with glasses in seventeen?".
Tumblr media
MOMENT #5 : HIS NOTORIOUS VLIVE LIVE STREAM ( aka him going live for a little over four hours just to give carats a history lesson )
it's well known that atsushi is a big fan of history. he's mentioned before that during his free-time or whenever he has breaks he'll spend his time doing research on different topics related to history or things similar to that and now with that in mind, one of his most well-known moments is the time he did a live for over four hours tutoring carats on different history topics.
on a very random day in 2021 atsushi had decided to go live, which wasn't very uncommon but when carats tuned into the live he had a white board behind him and was trying to organize his "work" station.
the live ended up being just over four hours and the during the whole duration of the live atsushi was just going over various history facts and topics he had learned through-out the years and was also offering help to carats who needed help with that specific subject.
carats really blew that whole live up on twitter and he ended up being deemed as a full time history teacher and part time idol for a long while. many carats saying that he was able to teach them more then their teachers did.
MOMENT #6 : THINGS HE SAYS ( the original poster included a video of the random things he'll say that's either him being unfiltered or just weird )
"i can totally suplex someone if i wanted to, i just need to warm myself up beforehand, i can be dangerous, stop looking down on me guys come on."
*staring off into space while seventeen fights in the background* : "i should've stayed in canada."
"guys do we think julius caeser deserved what happened to him? too bad vlive doesn't do polls. honestly, you know how heart breaking that was. actually, you know. i laughed at too many memes, does that make me a bad person? probably but he would never know."
"i used to be very skeptical about this company and so far all they've done is proved me right, it's not the worst but...it's surely interesting!"
"our manager is watching the live but don't worry, since i'm speaking japanese he won't understand what i'm saying anyways, so! anyone want spoilers for the comeback?"
"i used to just survive off of energy drinks and coffee, i used to have like 2 things of coffee and then an energy drink a day, my members told me to stop though because i couldn't sit still and it's not exactly the healthiest but oh well."
"i've seen what happens on twitter and i don't understand how any of you can be on there without losing at least seven braincells."
Tumblr media
note : eeeee i hope this is okay & all, i wasn't sure what layout to go with but i think this works just fine so!

You'd been following Niragi for quite a while now. You'd seen what he's like. You'd seen what he's like. He disgusted you, but it took you by surprise when he stopped.
There was an overhead, blocking you from the light. You were on one side, with him on the opposite end. He faced away from you, towards an open area - a street crossing, you thought. You reached towards your gun, hanging from it's holster at your hip.
Carefully, you pulled it out, careful to be quiet as to not alert Niragi that you were there.
Suddenly, there were gunshots and you jumped. You peeked out from behind the pillar, but Niragi still was facing away from you.
"Yo!" You heard him shout, and you peeked out again. In the distance, you could vaguely make out a figure. The man you'd been following seemed occupied so you decided to approach.
Carefully, gun in hand, you made your way under the overhead, rubble crunching ever so slightly under you feet.
"It makes me pretty damn happy to run into you here." He continued, his voice booming. He sounded dangerous, malice dripping from every word.
You stepped forward again, ducking behind trucks and other vehicles to avoid being seen. You didn't think he would turn around, but you could never be too careful, especially with someone like him.
From you closer position, you could vaguely make out the one who Niragi was talking to. They were tall and wearing a white shirt. At first, nobody came to mind, but you quickly realized that the description matched Arisu.
Your eyes widened, and you inhaled sharply. Niragi was shooting at Arisu, and maybe someone else as well. That wasn't good.
"You intentionally didn't kill me with that shot." You heard someone say. This voice, you immediately recognized as Chishiya. Your expression soured, what he'd said to you before clouding your mind.
You'd only ever been anything but kind to him, but he was always brushed you off. He seemed annoyed with you, for no reason at all. It pissed you off.
"I wasn't going to end this with a surprise attack." Niragi declared in response to Chishiya's words. "Okay, let's begin: a game of shootout. Now that the three of us are back together, that seems most suitable."
You tensed up. Between players? What was the point? You understood that Niragi was angry, or maybe just insane, but that would only reverse the progress you had all struggled to make.
"A game between players?" Chishiya asked, voicing your thoughts out loud. You crept closer, their conversation interesting you profoundly.
"The three of us are very similar." Niragi started, "We're oddballs who can't fit in with society. Even so, our need to feel alive is much greater than most people's."
And then, Niragi coughed again, what was likely blood splattering against the ground. Finally, you figured out what was probably the reason why he was proposing this.
He was dying anyways. And he wanted to drag as many people down with him, to go out with a bang.
"I haven't got much time left, so let's do this." He declared as you exited the overhead. There was a building of some sort, it's intended purpose now lost to vegetation. You rushed there, hiding behind it. Niragi didn't seem to notice, but you couldn't guarantee anything for Arisu and Chishiya, and whoever else might be there.
"As kindred spirits, join me in one final game!" He cried manically before tossing one of his guns on the ground near Chishiya.
From your new spot, you could see better. Chishiya was lying on the ground, clearly hit by the bullets released earlier by Niragi. Arisu was standing facing the ex-militant, a shotgun hanging off his shoulder.
There was movement in the corner of your eye, making you look over. You could see Chishiya getting up to go grab the gun a few feet in front of him on the grass.
"I like it." He declared, hand still resting on his side. That must've been where he got shot. "Join us, Arisu."
Arisu was clearly surprised that Chishiya was on board with Niragi's plan. In all honesty, so were you, but you didn't know what he went through. Maybe it would be better for the white-haired man to die, anyways. It was clear he didn't have any empathy.
"I'm sure you despise me as well. Use this opportunity to take revenge." He continued. "Let's play a game, the three of us."
"Are you insane?" Arisu asked in a shaking voice, nervously grasping his shotgun. You tensely held your own gun, standing defensively, peeking out from behind the wall of the building.
"Come on, you've got a gun too. Take aim!" Niragi persuaded, taking a couple of shaky steps towards Arisu.
"Do we really have to do this?" The man trailed off wearily, swaying ever so slightly.
All of a sudden, a gunshot echoed through the crossing, making you jump. Another, though quieter, one echoed. You peeked out again from your hiding spot and say both Niragi and Chishiya shooting at Arisu as he ducked behind a car.
The ex-militant jumped aggressively onto another car, shooting at Chishiya as he rushed behind a red car.
Bullets exploded out of Niragi's gun, the gunshots echoing out through the area, making you jump each time.
"Niragi! Stop this!" Arisu cried. You couldn't see him because of the car blocking his form. He likely couldn't see you either, so you rushed out of the building behind you, using the gunshots to cover any noise you may make.
"I'm simply doing what I want, the way I want!" Niragi started, "You guys are the same! It's always 'me!' with you two, it's always about what you want! You aren't experts on life just because you saw a bunch of people die! 'Living for others'? That's such bullshit! All we really care about is our own selves! As long as it's good for us, that's all we really need!"
Everything went quiet. No one said a word. Niragi was right. You all did only live for yourselves. People had died because of you. You had hurt others, you weren't good people. That didn't mean you should kill each other, though.
"Yeah." Arisu finally said. "You may be right. Killing each other here might just be appropriate for us."
You gritted your teeth. If Arisu gave into this bullshit, they would all die. You couldn't let that happen.
"You're all idiots!" You yelled, aiming your gun for Niragi's calf. Grimacing, you pulled the trigger, the force of the gun making you stumble backwards.
The bullet nestled itself in Niragi's leg, making him stumble on the car and eventually fall to one knee. You hated using guns.
"Sure, we deserve to die! Niragi surely does! But by resigning ourselves to death, the only thing we're doing is being cowards! I don't know about you, but I've regretted enough of my life. I'm done with that shit! If I'm going to die, it won't be in cowardice, it'll be in an attempt to protect those dear to me!"
You gun was still pointed at Niragi, clammy hands grasping it and you finger hovered over the trigger. You wouldn't die here. Not now.
Suddenly, you saw Arisu stand up from the corner of your eye.
"I'm not doing this." He declared. "I won't pull this trigger just to help myself." A dark humor made itself apparent in his voice, making you laugh darkly.
"This shit is ridiculous. I don't care about your shitty fantasy, asshole." You spat at Niragi, gun still pointed at his face.
It was quiet. Nothing was said. Niragi looked back and forth between you and Arisu, face blank with surprise. His gun was still pointed at Arisu, but his arm was relaxed, not ready to shoot.
"That sure put a damper on things." Niragi said with a chuckle, his gunning arm dropping down to his side.
"Arisu?" You heard a voice call, recognizing it as Usagi. "What are you doing?"
You chuckled darkly. What were you doing? It was all pointless, you couldn't believe the people you respected most were nearly dragged down with Niragi.
"Oh yeah... There was you too." Niragi said slowly, voice dripping with contempt as he raised his gun again, aimed at Usagi. He shot at her feet, missing her by mere inches as she jumped to the side, another bullet rushing at her.
"You asshole." You growled under your breath.
"Stop it! Usagi has no part in this!" Arisu screamed as he aimed the shotgun over the car, pointed right at Niragi.
"Every game needs a heroine to make it more exciting!" The ex-militant cried manically, and at this point, you were sure he'd gone insane.
"When the two of you are dead, the three of us can go back to being kindred spirits!" He yelled, looking crazily between you and Usagi. "I can't stand to be alone anymore." He said finally, quietly, before raising his gun to point to Usagi.
And then the sound of his gun firing rung into your ears, the man before you turning quietly and pointing his gun at you. Anger fueled you, rushing through you veins like lava.
You shot him in the shoulder, face blank as his own bullet grazed your cheek. Arisu had shot him as well, blasting him off the car. He landed pathetically to your right, you walked over to him and stepped on his wound, making him groan.
You grimaced, stepping dismissively over him as you rushed over to help Usagi, wiping your cheek on your sleeve on the way. Right as you mind cleared, you saw that Usagi didn't get shot. Chishiya had stepped into the way.
You cursed, starting to run. He couldn't die, he was an asshole, but he was important. You rushed over, ready to help him. Blood stained the side of his shirt as he grimaced, but otherwise, he seemed fine.
You breathed a sigh of relief, shoulders shaking as you took another step closer to him.
Arisu both rushed over, Usagi walking around from behind. He gingerly lifted his shirt up, showing that the bullet had grazed his side.
"Hey..." Arisu started, suddenly remembering that Chishiya never finished what he'd been saying. "What were you going to tell me earlier?"
"Chishiya made a noise suggesting he'd forgotten and had just remembered. "Oh, yeah."
"To me," He started, "people who live life seriously seem like fools. Those people who strive so hard... I just want to curse them. All their goodwill was repugnant to me. But I must've been jealous. They had what I didn't. It seemed like they were criticizing me for being such a vain and vulgar person. I was afraid of them."
The monologue sent chills down you spine. You nodded solemnly.
"I get what you mean." Arisu said sadly. You looked down, knowing the feeling all too well.
"Guys..." Usagi started, her voice shaking. "The King of Spades is coming."
You all looked up, the blimp overhead.
"Shit..." you cursed, you'd thought you would finally get a break. "We need to go."
Usagi went with Arisu and Chishiya went with you, hiding behind cars and trucks, trying to find cover from the King of Spades' guns.
Your gun was heavy in your hand. You could see from your side of the street that Arisu had kept the shotgun, and Chishiya was holding the pistol he'd been given by Niragi.
"We should try to find the others!" You shouted across the street to Usagi and Arisu, seeing them both nod back.
You kept running, continuously hiding behind vehicles and the sides of building.
"We can't go farther until the King of Spades is defeated! We need to kill him!" Usagi declared, looking nervously at you and Chishiya. You looked towards him, gaze anxious.
"We should at least try." He whispered. You nodded, looking across the street to Usagi.
"Let's do it!" You yelled, hand tightening anxiously around the gun. You and Usagi made eye contact before rushing up ahead, trying to get to where the King was.
Suddenly, Arisu yelled. "Kuina! An!" You looked up ahead, and, lo and behold, there they were.
They looked around for a moment before seeing you, starting to run towards Arisu and Usagi.
You decided to make your way across the street to communicate better.
"Are you guys okay?" You asked once they arrived, receiving a nod.
"It's so good to see you guys though. Good to know you're all okay." Kuina said, breathing heavily from running from the King.
"Yeah, you too." Usagi agreed.
"The King of Spades is trying to end things here." An said once things had calmed down slightly and greetings had been exchanged.
"Let's defeat the King together." Kuina finished for her, making everybody nod in agreement.
"We were thinking the exact same thing." Usagi said.
Suddenly, the King shot at the car you were hiding behind. You peeked over the top of the car, seeing him approaching. He was always so calm, keeping a walking pace.
You gulped, clammy hands gripping the gun tightly. You had to end it here.
Three other players sprinted to the car beside you, trying to hide behind it. Two of them made it, but the other was gunned down before they could get out of the way of the bullets.
You gulped, peeking over the top of the car again and seeing the King even closer. You gestured to everyone to go, sprinting away from the King.
You made it to another car, hiding behind it to catch your breath, when you noticed Chishiya gesturing for you to go to him. You took another deep breath and sprinted as fast as you could.
He'd been kinder to you recently. You weren't sure why, maybe he grew up a bit and realized that having enemies in this god forsaken country wasn't a good idea.
You made it to Chishiya, who was only one or two cars in front of you when An tripped. You stopped, turning back to check on her.
The King was only three or four meters away from her, making you cry out.
"An!" You heard Arisu say as well, making Kuina stop.
The King approached her menacingly, you raising your gun in an attempt to save her.
She took out her own gun, trying to shoot him in a desperate attempt but he grabbed it away. She tried to scramble to her feet when the King grabbed her shirt and shot aimlessly at Arisu and Usagi, forcing them to move out of the way.
Just as you were about to shoot, the side mirror of a car hit the King's head. Kuina kicked it, you put together. Finally, the King's attention was drawn away from An, giving her a chance to grab her gun and run off, hiding behind the car you and Chishiya were behind.
"You alright?" You asked, An nodding in reply.
You waited for a little bit, letting An catch her breath. Suddenly, there was a loud noise, like what a car emits. You peeked out from behind the car you hid behind, only to see another car running into the King and driving him into, well, yet another car.
They burst into flames as people stopped hiding to see if the King had finally been killed.
The group who you presumed were in charge of the stunt started celebrating. Then, bullets found their way into their leaders chest. The King wasn't dead quite yet.
From the flames, he stood up. Nothing had caught fire, so you figured his gear must've been fire resistant. He stepped onto the roof of the car that had crashed into him and started shooting at everyone who'd been watching.
You gulped and crouched back down behind cover. You wouldn't die here. Once the shooting finally stopped, you peeked out again and saw that he was taking off his cloak. Underneath it, he was wearing a bulletproof vest and a full face mask.
Then, he took off his mask, revealing a shaved head. It was scarred, and when you looked closer, you realized he only had one functional eye. His appearance sent chills down you spine.
His face was expressionless, emotionless. He felt no guilt, no mercy at killing so many people. You gripped your gun tighter, though it offered no sense of security.
He turned around, his eye finding yours before you ducked into the cover of the car. Eventually, his gaze landed on Arisu and Usagi, who stood petrified, out in the open. He raised his gun, shooting mercilessly. They were only barely able to duck out of the way as they rushed behind a car.
They quickly started running, Arisu ducking behind the cover of a different car to take offensive as Usagi ran, fully utilizing her climbing skills.
Eventually, the shooting stopped as the King had to reload, and Arisu took that chance. He peeked up over the car and took a shot at the King, who rolled out of the way.
Everything was quiet for a while as the King reloaded. Once he was finished, he peeked out from behind the car, gun loaded and ready to fire. Then, suddenly, an arrow shot itself into his side. It penetrated the bulletproof vest, but it didn't get through it.
The girl who had shot the arrow started to load another into her bow when the King started shooting at her, forcing her to run into cover. The King ducked behind the car again to remove the arrow from his vest.
You took the chance to run out of you hiding spot, sprinting down the street. You ducked behind the cover of the cars on your way, gun gripped tightly in your hand, always held close to your chest.
Eventually, there was a building in front of you. You saw Arisu and Usagi duck in, motioning for Chishiya to follow you - at some point, the two of you and An and Kuina had separated. It was dark - the lights weren't on - but it seemed safe and offered good cover.
You rushed in, ducking to the side where you couldn't be seen. Finally, you relaxed the grip on your gun and slid down the wall. You lungs heaved, not used to running so much.
"Jesus..." You muttered under your breath, eyes closing. You'd been having trouble sleeping, and it was a conscious fight not to succumb to rest. You wiped the sweat off your forehead with the back of your hand, taking deep breaths.
Kuina and An came in from the back, putting your mind to rest. Everybody was accounted for, everybody was safe.
"Arisu." Someone called. It was a girl with bow and a quiver of arrows, who you reasoned was the person that had shot the King.
"Heiya." He replied, looking over. They seemed to know each other, though you weren't sure how or why.
"You're Usagi?" The girl - Heiya - asked. Usagi nodded, looking at the newcomer in surprise. "Yes."
"Nice to meet you."
Suddenly, a familiar voice called out. Despite the voice being familiar, it felt like you hadn't heard it in ages.
"He's about to run out of his spare magazines." It was Aguni. You'd known him from the Beach, he'd been the leader of the militants. He should've died in the ten of hearts game, though. It was a miracle he was still alive.
Clearly, the others echoed your own feelings, breaking out into questions. He was probably the best person to fight the King with, though.
"Aguni? How'd you get here?" Usagi asked, watching him confusedly.
He rushed to somewhere with a little more cover from the King before answering.
"I followed you."
It was silent for a little while, the man's words processing through everyone's minds.
"You must like me." Heiya said with a little smile.
Aguni seemed to skip over what the girl said, moving over to get closer to all of you.
"He's still just a human. He's not omnipotent. His guns are the same, they can't be fired forever. When he's out of rounds, he reloads, same as us. The blimp probably sends more round down for him."
"We've got weapons." Arisu remarked, lifting his shotgun. You felt your grip on your gun tighten, a slight reminder it was there. Everybody checked their own weapons, Chishiya having a quick look at the gun he was given by Niragi, Kuina readying her fists, An taking a quick look at her own gun.
You weren't helpless. You had weapons, you had the means to do this.
"But these are all the rounds we've got." Aguni finished your train of thought.
Suddenly, Kuina remembered something. "I've also got this." She said, pulling a can out of her pocket. "A good luck charm." You looked at it questioningly before Chishiya said something.
"Oh yeah. I've already used mine, though."
"It's a bomb Chishiya made." Kuina answer the silent question hanging in the air.
"What good is that?" Aguni scoffed, looking at Chishiya.
"Lure him in and use it close." The man answered quickly. "It's made with kerosene, shoot it and it'll go."
"So an ANFO bomb." An remarked.
"That won't make much of an explosion." Aguni challenged. It wouldn't but if you could find, maybe, something flammable, like alcohol it would work great. Maybe if you lured the King to a gas station? You weren't quite sure.
Arisu answered your question for you. "There's a drugstore over there. If it's closed off and filled with aerosol fumes, the explosion will be amplified." He finished with a proud grimace.
"You sure of that?" Aguni said skeptically.
"Maybe." Arisu answered back. It wasn't a foolproof plan, everyone would have to play their parts.
"In other words, someone has to lure him in there." Kuina put together.
"Yeah." Arisu agreed. "I'll wait in the store for him and set it off." That was even riskier, though. If he was in the store when the bomb went off, he'd surely die.
"You'd die." You said warily, not ready for such a loss. Usagi seemed to have the same thought as you, saying something similar.
"No." He said confidently. "I'll get away."
"How?" Chishiya challenged amusedly.
"On the second floor," he started, a slight grin appearing as his plan formed. "Even if I'm blown outside, I can still survive." There was a little while of silence while he gauged the other's reactions to his plan before he added something on. "Maybe."
Chishiya nodded, and you agreed. It was reasonable, probably wouldn't kill him. Might seriously injure him enough to get him killed later on, though.
"This is nothing but 'maybe's." Heiya remarked suspiciously. It wasn't the best plan, no, but it was probably the best you had.
"It's worth betting on his maybe's, though." Aguni argued.
"Let's not bet too much, though. This plan isn't foolproof, it'll probably go wrong at some point. One or two people should stay back and interfere if it's going to shit." You declared, gaze sweeping over everybody as they looked at you.
"I can do that." Chishiya said, offering you a his signature grin.
"I'll join him, then." Kuina decided.
"Now that we have our two people to stay back, who's going to be the decoy?"
"This time, I'll be the decoy." Aguni said to Arisu, clearly referencing something in their shared past.
"It's reckless to lure him alone." Usagi noticed.
"I'm enough." Aguni pushed, but Usagi stayed put.
"Let's all be decoys." She finally decided. You were up for it, you were far from weak. Everyone else seemed to echo your feelings, - except Chishiya and Kuina of course - nodding.
Aguni scoffed, clearly defeated. He rolled his eyes, but otherwise, seemed on board with the plan.
"Okay. Let's go."
i'm so sorry this ended up getting so long and i didn't want to have a huge wall of text so i'm splitting it into two parts, i hope it's ok so far though :)

hear me out
So like imagine that Chishiya from Alice in Borderland was given a little sister, ex: Mai Chishiya, a 12 year old girl that clings to her brother and seems to be very mature for a girl her age and has an overall tight bond with Shuntaro.
Like imagine you Y/n L/n (you’re also 12) act as Mai and you find Chishiya’s actor scary and you think that he doesn’t like you so you stay away from him unless it’s needed for a scene
So like during the witch hunt episodes you made a hunt to give everyone a good luck and goodbye kiss on the cheek because it was nearing the end of season one and you probably wouldn’t see most of the people until the next season. And like everyone knows that you are scared of Murakami (Chishiya’s actor) and so you gave everyone a kiss on the cheek and avoided him and acted like you forgot to give him one to not raise suspicion.  The man knew that you were scared of him but didn’t know that you thought that he didn’t like you so like to taunt you three other actors would drag you to him and would make you give him a kiss on the cheek.
Like during a scene Mai was hugging her brothers arm and rested her head on his shoulder while walking and talking to him to represent their relationship but like after the scene Y/n ran away in like a jumpy way to cling to another actor.
And in like a confrontation when some of the actors and main cast were hanging out with each other an actor asked why Y/n would avoid Murakami and Y/n responded that they think that Murakami doesn’t like them and is annoyed by them so they avoid him to not make him mad. Immediately they react right away and they sit you next to him and Murakami assured you that he never thought of you as annoying and would never get mad at you. Considering that you are a child no one could ever get mad at you and you were still learning everything so they try to make you as comfortable as possible around him and everyone.
So like during the following days they keep Y/n and Murakami together to try and make you comfortable around him
Cue an interview with the main cast after season 1 came out
“Y/n, what did you think of everyone when you first met them?”
“ I was like kinda scared and I got comfortable around everyone after a couple days but I was like especially scared by Nijiro so I would avoid him at all costs.”  “why is that?”
“First of all he looks so monotone and I thought that he was annoyed by me and didn’t like me and like after every scene I would run away from him to someone else. And like near like the last three episodes or something like that I told everyone and like they tried making us get along which worked out in the end right?” Y/n looked at Nijiro
“Yeah.”
“Yeah it did.”
“like one time I thought a scene had ended so I ran away before the scene ended so like the camera caught me running away from Nijiro and I think I like kinda screamed too-”
“Yeah, that was like during the tag game and everyone remembers seeing Y/n run away after every scene, we probably had to retake 4 or 5 of them because Y/n ran away before the scene ended.”
“They even made a get along shirt for us where we both had to wear an oversized shirt and like talk to each other so I would stop running away from him after every scene
Cue season 2 where the actors see Y/n run away from Murakami most of the time to mess with him and Murakami would chase you along with other actors and they would all lift you up and take you to who knows where
so yeah I also thought of this while I was taking my shower so it’s like really random

___________________________________________________
Condensation dripped down the windows of the izakaya, pooling on the sills and benches. With my fingertip, I caught a stray drop from the edge of the windowsill and allowed it to trickle between my fingers. Across the room, Kuina was lying on a banquette. Her arm was draped over her eyes to block out what little light filtered into the room. Chishiya was sitting opposite to me in a booth, his head resting against a divider.
‘Do you think it’s safe to go out there?’ I asked.
‘From Niragi or from the rain?’ Chishiya’s eyes were closed, his body perfectly still, and if it weren’t for his question, one would assume he was asleep.
‘I didn’t just mean Niragi. It’s kind of hard to see where the King of Spades is from here.’
‘We’d probably hear his blimp anyway,’ Kuina murmured. ‘And if he really was here, we’d be dead.’
Despite the atmosphere of the room, we were all wide awake, almost waiting for the next big event to come crashing through the door. It had only been three days since the second stage began, but we had faced non-stop challenges. From our run-in with the King of Spades, to being chased by Niragi, Tatta’s tragic death… in the quiet of the izakaya, it was as if we were waiting for a battle to begin.
The only question is, what will it be?
The hanging signs outside creaked in the wind, swinging back and forth as the rain picked up. From the banquette, Kuina muttered, ‘Why doesn’t Niragi ever die? He’s been burned alive, beaten up by Aguni and Arisu, and me too. How is he still running around?’
‘Cockroaches are known for being persistent,’ Chishiya murmured.
‘Kuina,’ I said quietly. ‘I really am sorry about your apartment.’
She hummed indifferently. ‘We’ve got a whole city of them. I might even find a better one, maybe with a private swimming pool and a gym, the kind Yamapi has.’ She chuckled under her breath. ‘Who knows? I could be as chiselled as him by the time I go back home.’
I knew Kuina was just trying to lighten the mood, but the frustration was building up inside me. No matter how hard we tried, it was impossible to shake Niragi off. If I had known things would get this bad, I would have avoided him more back at the Beach. But could I really have done much differently? I wasn’t exactly the one who burned his room and set him on fire, all I did was reject him. It was getting tiring, fighting him off all the time, constantly dodging bullets.
Speaking of which…
‘I should have asked this before,’ I said, 'but is anyone hurt?’
Aside from a speckle of bruises on my arms and legs, and my throat, which was still burning from Niragi’s grip, I was completely uninjured. Kuina lifted her arm from her face and inspected herself. Her shoulder had been hit by flying glass.
‘It’s just a scratch,’ she assured me. ‘I’ve definitely had worse.’
She was smiling, but I knew her better than that. The glitter of blood was visible even in the dim light, a drop oozing down her shoulder like the rain on the window.
‘We’ll find a clinic or a hospital,’ I told her. ‘Chishiya’s really good at this stuff.’
I focused my attention on him next. He looked calm, almost totally at peace. But having barely escaped Shinjuku Gyoen National Park with him before, I knew how skilled he was at hiding his injuries.
‘Chishiya?’
He ignored me, his eyes firmly closed. For someone who criticised everyone’s predictability, he was rather predictable himself. I leaned over the booth table and reached for the zipper of his hoodie. His fingers clasped my wrist before I could.
‘It’s nothing,’ he stated, finally opening his eyes. ‘Just leave it alone.’
‘You remember that time after that Hunting Season game, don’t you?’ I reminded him. ‘The Two of Spades. You had to limp all the way back to the Beach. If you get septicemia, how are you going to win your next game?’
He perked up at this. ‘Oh? I thought you were against me playing?’
I pulled my wrist free. ‘Come on, just let me see it. It’s not like I’m going to make it worse.’
‘I wouldn’t put it past you,’ he muttered, then slid his hood down. But instead of unzipping it as I’d expected, he pulled back his hair to expose the base of his neck. His wound from our encounter with the King of Spades had begun to bleed again, the dark crimson seeping through the dressing and leaving spots on the inside of his hoodie. My hand instinctively reached out to touch it, but I hesitated. He’d already made it clear that he didn’t want me poking and prodding it, and I didn’t want it to become more aggravated and painful than it already was.
‘God… why didn’t you say something?’
He shrugged me away and pulled his hoodie back into place. ‘It’s nothing I can’t fix myself.’
‘Yeah,’ I said, thinking back to our previous first-aid session. ‘I wonder who helped you patch it up the first time though.’
He turned away, refusing to back down. On the banquette, Kuina groaned and sat up. She fixed her hair and leaned back against the wall, looking more exhausted than I’d ever seen her. The shadows under her eyes were more pronounced, as if she had aged several years since our first meeting.
‘You know, sometimes I miss the Beach.’ Seeing the look on mine and Chishiya’s faces, she held up a hand. ‘Hear me out, I know it was crazy. Hatter was bonkers, the whole place was a cult, and we went through hell and back just to try and get out of there. But I forgot how easy it was. We didn’t have to move around all the time, it was warm too. Fresh water. Food.’
‘And we didn’t have to dodge anti-tank rifles,’ I added. My skin still tingled with the hot blast of metal and glass as the van exploded before us.
Kuina sighed deeply. ‘All those games seem easy now, looking back. The King of Clubs game had way too many rules, it was impossible to keep track at first.’
The last time Kuina mentioned the King of Clubs, she’d skipped out on a lot of the details. Seeing her look so torn up, I hadn’t wanted to pressurise her, but she seemed a little more open to talking about it now.
‘You didn’t tell me back in the hardware store,’ I said. ‘What was the King like?’
She snorted. ‘He was ballsy, for sure.’
Out the corner of my eye, Chishiya smirked. ‘What do you mean?’ I asked. ‘Like he was really confident?’
‘Yeah,’ she snickered. ‘He wasn’t afraid to lay himself bare - really stripped back the layers.’
Glancing back and forth between Chishiya’s sly expression and Kuina’s inability to keep a straight face, there was clearly something I was missing here. A language pun, perhaps?
‘ヌーデスト,’ Chishiya muttered under his breath, so quiet I had almost missed it.
‘What?!’ I spluttered. ‘For real?’ The rain outside was now lashing against the window. ‘Wasn’t he cold?’
Kuina’s shoulders shook lightly as she held back a giggle. ‘I don’t know. Probably. But he seemed genuinely cool, like someone you’d want to be friends with in the real world. He made all this big fuss about dying with your ideals, fighting for your life with all you’ve got, you know the kind.’
Hearing this, Kuina’s experience married with my own. These citizens didn’t seem like the kind of people who would design death games, killing people just for fun. They seemed genuine, approachable, and very, very human.
‘The Queen of Diamonds was the same. She kept talking about good and evil - Nietzsche. How our perceptions are limited by a black and white approach to morality.’
Kuina smiled shyly. ‘Sorry, I’m not exactly a Nietzsche expert. You’re going to have to explain it.’
‘He wrote a book called Beyond Good and Evil. Basically he says that it’s impossible to categorise people or actions as either good or evil, and that way of thinking isn’t even useful to us anyway. By removing yourself from that thought process, you can see the world for how it really is.’ I paused, remembering the clatter of the Queen’s shoe clattering to the floor in her final moments. ‘She made it pretty clear that she wasn’t our enemy.’
The room was silent, any humour we shared over the King of Clubs suddenly grim as we tried to fit the puzzle pieces together. Someone had to have designed this parallel world. It was too complex, with too many rules and systems to just be a natural coincidence.
‘Unless they’re also following rules too,’ Chishiya said, at last. ‘Like the dealers, there could be someone even higher than them. A hierarchy.’
His words triggered a memory… something the Queen had said. It was a small slip of the tongue, but it spoke volumes. Chishiya’s theory might have been right after all.
‘When I tried to question her in the game,’ I began, ‘the Queen claimed she’d “said too much already”. It was like she knew that if she said the wrong thing, something bad would happen. Kind of like Asahi and the lasers.’
Kuina and Chishiya nodded slowly. They had both seen it too, the way Asahi announced in the middle of the hotel lobby, loud and clear, that she was a dealer of the Witch Hunt game. The laser had immediately silenced her. It was evidently a rule that she knew about beforehand.
‘Argh!’ Kuina groaned, rubbing her eyes furiously. ‘The more I think about this, the more I’m getting a headache!’
‘Me too,’ I admitted.
Kuina stood up and stretched her arms above her head, wincing slightly due to the cut on her shoulder.
‘Right!’ She clapped her hands. ‘Who wants to go on a trip to the hospital?’
_____________________________________________________________
The hospital was a terracotta building with dark panelled glass running alongside the eastern exterior wall. The entrance itself was hidden under a canopy which the three of us were able to shelter beneath. The rain hadn’t let up at all and the wind whipped through my clothes. I rubbed my arms, hoping to retain at least some body heat.
‘This way,’ Chishiya said, taking off towards a set of glass double doors. Kuina and I followed, eager to get out of the cold.
Our original plan had been to head for the Tokyo Metropolitan Otsuka Hospital, but once we had grown closer, so had the King of Spades. His blimp was hovering over Toshima City, heading southwest towards Shibuya, and although the blimp was moving away from us, we decided it was best to stay out of the King’s radar altogether, if such a thing was possible. So, we headed deeper into Bunkyo City, where Chishiya acted as our compass, directing us towards the nearest medical centre.
Inside there was a reception desk with several white couches lining the centre of the lobby. Posters with cartoon viruses advertised flu jabs and warned against the dangers of antibiotic overuse. At one end of the lobby was a newspaper and snack kiosk.
‘Yes!’ Kuina immediately headed over to the kiosk and rifled through a display. She held up a bag of cookies and a packet of instant noodles. ‘There’s enough here for a few days. We could stay the night, too.’
‘Plenty of beds upstairs, I guess,’ I said, flicking through a home decor magazine. There was a lingering tragedy about the glossy pages with warm homes with trinkets and ornaments, and DIY craft tutorials. In the real world, I never would have bothered with a magazine like this. But now, my heart yearned for its simplicity.
Maybe if I go back, I’ll finally buy one of these magazines.
‘Let’s go,’ Chishiya said. ‘We can talk about it upstairs.’
He led us towards a flight of stairs, without even bothering to work out where it lead. I didn’t question him on this. He seemed twitchier than usual, and I wondered whether the wound on his neck was bothering him.
‘It doesn’t look like many people have raided this place yet,’ Kuina remarked as we walked down a long hallway, passing signs for radiology, cardiology, outpatients.
‘Maybe they have.’ My eyes paused on an empty sandwich wrapper on a windowsill. ‘Though we’ll know depending on how many supplies are left.’
‘There are boxes stashed in the basement,’ Chishiya stated.
He turned, and pushed open another set of double doors which opened up onto a large ward with its own reception desk, a recovery room, and several doors marked 手術室.
Operating theatres?
‘Why don’t you two sit down in there?’ I nodded toward the recovery room. ‘I’ll grab some stuff from the storeroom.’
Kuina happily hopped on a bed, but Chishiya’s expression was stony. ‘You won’t even know what you’re looking for. ’
‘I will,’ I insisted. ‘You taught me, remember?’
He didn’t say anything, but the glint in his eyes revealed that he remembered it clearly. Sitting on his bed with a bowl of water and a cloth, the quiet conversation on intelligence and God, and the brush of cold fingers against his skin.
‘Are you really going to be like this?’ I urged. ‘It’s not like I’m going to come back with a hammer and nails.’
‘Hmm? And did you ever fix the bathroom door?’
Did he just?!
I was almost too stunned to speak. ‘Hey! That’s so not fair, you were the one who broke it.’ He brushed past me without answering, persistent on grabbing the items himself. ‘Chishiya!’ I called, following along behind him.
He didn’t protest when I entered the supply room and started pulling out drawers, choosing tape, gauze, dressings, chlorhexidine. With two of us there, it didn’t take us long to find what we needed, and in spite of all the fuss he made, I had the feeling that he actually didn’t mind my help.
He worked on Kuina’s cut first, the two of them sitting on one of the recovery beds as he disinfected and treated her wound. They were deep in a hushed conversation, and I took the opportunity to wander around the ward.
The operating theatres were cold and sterile, but exploring a single door hidden in an alcove, I happened upon a kitchenette that opened up into what looked like a staff room. Bench seating lined the back wall, and in the corner they had managed to squeeze in a table and eight chairs. All along the walls were cork boards, pinned with the latest notices, changes in policies, new orders for supplies arriving. I couldn’t help but enjoy reading them; the small scraps of handwritten notes were a glimpse of a world long-gone. My eyes scanned several sticky notes and reminders, trying to decipher the Japane—
My gaze stilled on a sheet of paper titled 木曜日の研修会. Beneath, several names had been scrawled in different colours of pen by different hands.
阿久田 小衿
伝谷 一向
苣屋 駿太郎
鈴木 大翔
Although I couldn’t understand the kanji, one name stuck out. I had seen that handwriting before on a post-it note stuck to the top of a homemade taser. I would have have recognised it anywhere.
苣屋 駿太郎
A smile pulled at the corners of my lips as I gently touched the characters with my fingertips, tracing each blue pen stroke. I was only vaguely aware of the footsteps sounding from the kitchenette.
‘Did you find something useful?’
I kept my gaze on the writing, absorbing every small character, the tiny intricacies of each kanji. ‘You didn’t tell us this was your hospital.’
The way he led us here… he didn’t even bother looking at the signs…
Maybe I should have noticed that this was the University of Tokyo Hospital, but I hadn’t stopped to read the signs either.
‘It didn’t really matter,’ Chishiya said.
I glanced over at him. He had already reapplied a new dressing to the wound on his neck, the surrounding skin tinged orange with the chlorhexidine. His hair was unkempt and his face looked older, somehow, as if the Borderlands had aged us.
Pointing towards the title at the top of the sheet, I asked, ‘What does this mean? I know it says Thursday’s something… but this longer word.’
He sauntered over to the pinboard, taking one brief look at the sheet of paper. ‘Training session. They ran training for medical students and junior doctors every Thursday.’ He paused, the barest hint of a smirk. ‘I didn’t know you knew how to spell my name.’
‘I don’t,’ I admitted. ‘It’s your handwriting. You have a slight slant to it, and when you draw those tiny boxes in kanji, you make the corners really sharp, like spikes.’
‘…I see.’
I sat down on the bench seats, relaxing into the smooth, squishy material. I could almost imagine Chishiya sitting somewhere like this with a paper cup of terrible coffee. ‘What’s your medical speciality? You never really told me about it, but you must have one.’
‘Cardiovascular surgery,’ he replied. ‘I was curious about the human heart.’
In more ways than one, huh?
Unexpectedly, he moved to sit beside me, leaning back until I could feel the warmth of his skin through his hoodie. It was so tempting to just shift my head a few inches and nestle into his shoulder, but I didn’t want to hurt his wound any further.
‘I don’t know if I’d want you cutting me open on a table,’ I said lightly. ‘You might accidentally nick my aorta.’
‘I don’t do anything by accident.’
‘And that’s supposed to be reassuring, Dr Chishiya?’
‘Oh?’ His eyes narrowed as he slowly leaned closer, his breath fanning my nose and cheeks. ‘Who said I was trying to be reassuring?’
As if swept along by the tide, I was drawn into his kiss, his hands supporting the small of my back as I was pushed further into the bench seating. His figure hovered over mine, his body the warmest thing in the room, and I slipped both arms under his hoodie, trying to lessen the space between us. It was a little disconcerting given he wasn’t someone who often initiated physical intimacy, and part of me was slightly suspicious, but I wanted to take this moment for everything it was worth.
But then…
I broke away from his kiss. ‘Do you really thing we should be doing this now?’
He hummed, uncaring, and buried his face in the crook of my neck. ‘Your doctor says it’s fine, so it’s fine.’
‘Kuina’s right outside,’ I whispered, trying to resist his pull. ‘What if she walks in?’
‘Who cares? That’s her problem.’
The sky outside was darkening, a fusion of the rainclouds and the sunset. In the deep blue light, Chishiya’s hair had regained its silvery hue and his eyes glittered with amusement, just like they had when he’d first treated my bullet graze in the pharmacy. Except the scene was a mirror image — a total inversion of our relationship back then. He was propped up on his elbows, one hand resting against my head as his fingertips played with a lock of my hair — something that would have been pure fantasy several weeks ago. Looking at him now, it was like staring into the eyes of a totally different person.
Well, I guess he’s not totally different.
‘Chishiya.’ Comfortable against the bench seats, I didn’t want to move, but I had to ask… ‘How many days are left on your visa?’
Some of the humour disappeared from his face as he considered his answer. ‘It’s been three days since the second stage started. I suppose since the games stopped after we finished the Witch Hunt, I’ve got one week left.’
So it’s not urgent.
Relief coursed through me, but really, there was still one other issue. If Chishiya waited a week before taking part in another game, there was a chance the Diamond and Hearts games could be completed already, and Spades and Clubs were hardly his strengths. Even though I’d said that I didn’t plan on competing again, it looked like I was going to have to take back my own words.
‘Look,’ I mumbled, ‘I know you want to try one of the games. You’re always checking the blimps, and even though I don’t like it, realistically there’s nothing I can do to stop you from taking part, even if I wanted to.’
Chishiya’s stare was intent, his interest already piqued. His fingers stilled, no longer playing with my hair. ‘And?’
‘I want to make another deal.’ I didn’t intend for the words to come out so unsteadily, but my heart was thrumming so loud I was sure he could feel it. ‘You can take part in a game - any game you want - but we’ll complete it together.’
‘No.’
‘I know you said you don’t want me taking part in your games—’
‘So it’s settled.’
‘No, it’s not.’ I slid my hand up to rest on his cheek. My fingers were icy cold, but he seemed unbothered. ‘I get that you want to prove yourself, even if I don’t really understand why, but I can’t just wave you goodbye and hope for the best. If I’m there, you’ll have one less enemy to think about. I want to do everything I can to make sure you win.’
He raised an eyebrow. ‘And if there’s only one winner?’
I gulped. It was a very real possibility. ‘Then so be it.’
His lips curled at the edges, but there was no enjoyment there. ‘Are you really willing to risk an outcome like that? How selfish.’
Selfish?
What a strange word choice. Was it really selfish to want someone else to live on for you?
‘Like I said, you could choose any game you want. It doesn’t have to be Diamonds - you can keep those. Just let me have tomorrow with you. One day together - just in case things don’t go to plan.’
He was silent for several seconds, but those seconds stretched on as he meditated over my proposal. And just when I thought he was going to shut the idea down entirely, he eventually reached a calm decision.
‘Fine. ’
‘Fine?’
‘You win,’ he said. ‘But you can’t argue with my choice of game, even if you don’t like it.’
Threading my fingers through his hair, I pulled his face down to mine, meeting halfway with a kiss. ‘Thank you, Chishiya.’
I melted into his embrace, knowing that this time around, we would complete a game together. As a team. Even if it meant putting my own life on the line, I wanted him to win. I wanted him to return home a different person, someone unlike his father, capable of love and kindness, and genuine laughter that he could feel deep inside instead of just perform. I wanted him to have a life worth living.
Somewhere down the line, Chishiya’s hands had slid inside my shirt, his kisses becoming more and more urgent. Drawing my shirt up, his cool fingertips drew constellations on my skin, every trace of his fingernails sending stars reverberating through my entire being.
‘What the fuck?’
My eyes flew open. Chishiya stilled, pulled away slightly, but didn’t move beyond this. Kuina was standing in the doorway, her jaw slack.
Oh no…
‘Oh my god, I can’t believe you two!’ She paced back and forth, shaking her head. ‘You could have just said you wanted privacy or made up an excuse instead of just disappearing.’
Oh no no no…
My cheeks glowed hot with humiliation, whereas Chishiya was entirely disinterested by the intrusion, re-directing his attention back to the column of my throat. As enjoyable as his ministrations were, the moment was already broken. I patted his shoulder, the signal to retreat.
‘You’re still… Christ!’ Palms firmly over her eyes, Kuina scrambled to the door. ‘I was literally just in the other room, how am I supposed to unsee this?!’
‘Wait,’ I tried to scramble away. ‘Stop it Chishiya. Kuina, wait!’
Even as the door creaked to a close, Kuina’s protests echoed throughout the empty ward. Burying my face in the warmth of Chishiya’s shoulder, it was impossible to hold back laughter.

What are your k drama recommendations??!? I need new ones
omg my time has come thank you anon for giving me the opportunity to ramble about shows
I ended up talking WAY too long so I'm putting everything after the first one under the cut
all of us are dead- show about high schoolers as a zombie apocalypse starts. very funny and relatable, literally they call the police and are like 'have you seen train to busan?' bffrrn. has a lot of social commentary and there are references to the sinking of mc sewol (a cruise that sunk where the captain deserted it and left a large amount of high schoolers to drown). commentary about how adults save themselves first/leave youth to fend for themselves. one of my comfort shows and although they didn't intend for more seasons, it was received so well that they have been renewed! I am also an ot4 truther and sometimes talk about them on my international shows sideblog: @nam-on-jo
sweet home- (disclaimer: I am not caught up and have not yet seen s2 which came out a little while ago) honestly I have no idea how to explain this so I'm gonna copy-paste the blurb: as humans turn into savage monsters, one troubled teenager and his neighbours fight to survive and to hold onto their humanity. basically people turn into monsters for [redacted] reasons and everyone in his large apartment building is stuck inside trying to fend for their lives.
my name- I'm just going to paste the blurbs going forward because it's easier: Following her father's murder, a revenge-driven woman puts her trust in a powerful crime boss -- and enters the force under his direction. bro some of these twists I expected but others caught me off guard. I love the main character and am a little gay for her but I think that's valid because she's a bamf. there was a plot point at the end of the second to last episode that I really didn't like and made me very upset. narratively I get why they did it but it made me sad so I'm still pissy. might get around to writing a fix-it fic one day when motivation strikes because my girl deserves better things.
the guest- a detective, a catholic priest, and a psychic join forces to fight crime caused by supernatural forces. not to say they are my ot3 but they kinda are. (other ppl interpret it is a lesbian and her two bi/gay bffs which I also accept but. ot3 tho). LOVED every twist and turn and how the three of them go from not trusting one another to being family. genuinely one of my favorites from all the kdramas I've watched over the years and I want to rewatch it again soon
happiness (tvn)- The residents of a high-rise apartment fight for their lives against a deadly infectious disease while Sae-bom and Yi-hyun try to find the person because of whom the virus spread. bro I adored this. some characters annoyed me (which means they were written effectively) but it has so much. fake dating/marriage (they wanted a better apartment lmao). annoyances to lovers. mean/rude woman soft for sunshine man. what you will do for the people you love. morals and humanity during a catastrophy. *smacks show* you can fit so much into this. no but seriously, I thought this was a really interesting take on the zombie virus! so some of the time you come off completely asymptomatic and 'normal', so people can get away with acting normal and hiding the disease around other people, so the paranoia and mystery is REALLY amped up. had me guessing a LOT. sae-bom and yi-hyun are both cops/detectives and you find out really early (ep 1/2?) that sae-bom is immune which gives a really interesting dynamic that leaves her (to yi-hyun's exasperation and heightened blood pressure levels) to be kinda reckless in the pursuit of truth and salvation. I'm rambling now because this is making me watch to rewatch but yeah as a zombie/dystopia/apocalypse lover this was a good watch. it's more story-focused than violence-heavy which was a cool and refreshing twist
alice in borderland- okay y'all I am aware people had mixed feelings about s2 but overall I did enjoy the series. 'Obsessed gamer Arisu suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive.' what can I say, I love a dystopian-esque setting.
the silent sea- imma be real, I only watched it for loml bae doona from sense8. 'During a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.' basically earth is in severe crisis mode as they run out of water to drink. water has recently been found on the moon, and although there was a mysterious tragedy that happened previously to researchers looking for water in a base on the moon, they have reached a level of desperation where they have another mission to look for moon water. mystery, paranoia, a couple of good twists ensue. I thought it was pretty good even though I have some mixed feelings about the open ending.
semantic error- yes I am sliding a bl into this list. bitch you thought. of course my bl-loving self would mention this (I forgot about it until I looked up good kdramas to remind myself of stuff I have watched). 'A strict, rule-abiding computer science major must work together with an artist with a polar-opposite personality to his.' confident cool boy meets bitch boy. it's great.
and of course...
leverage con artists- I would be fired from running this blog if I didn't mention the beloved korean spinoff of leverage. 'The series follows the story of Lee Tae-joon, a former insurance investigator who forms a team of thieves and con artists to target the rich and wealthy. The team was also formed to avenge Tae-joon's son's death.' I've posted about it before so I won't go super into it but it's VERY camp, a good time, and the ot3 is alive and well. debatable more overt than their predecessor!
other mentionables:
I tried watching kingdom (again for bae doona) but couldn't really get into it. might try again later because it's critically acclaimed (I think) and has even gotten a spinoff series
my roommate really liked mr queen. I didn't really pay attention when we were in the same room and they were watching it but it's fruity
the island on amazon prime was good! interesting plot but not in my top 10 or anything. worth a watch if you're looking for a kdrama to watch in your spare time. features girlboss businesswoman being thrown into a world of the supernatural because [redacted]. supernatural black horse man keeps her safe while keeping a life-changing secret.
let's fight ghost was a thai show that I saw and loved that was adapted into a kdrama called bring it on ghost, but honestly I couldn't get through it because I liked the thai one better.
train to busan is technically a movie but it's iconic and well-known and I highly suggest watching it if you like zombie/apocalypse movies. disclaimer: kdramas do not have the slow 'walker' zombies. they are fucking fast and the stuff of my nightmares. would probably just jump off a bridge if this actually happened ngl
I did think that extraordinary attorney woo was cute. I never finished it and know that there are VERY valid criticisms about the perpetuation of media portraying people with autism in the stereotypical savant ways. however, I liked how the love interest accepted her for who she was, loved her because of who she was and made efforts to accommodate and learn how to comfort her in ways that would work for her
business proposal was pretty decent if you like lighthearted romance- I didn't finish it but would like to at some point
tale of the nine tailed was another one that my roommate and I started watching but never finished. it was alright! just lost interest
shows on my watchlist:
black knight (netflix)- 'In a dystopian future devastated by air pollution, the survival of humanity depends on a group of deliverymen known as the Black Knights who navigate the wastelands using unconventional means.'
copycat killer-
hellbound (netflix)-
shop for killers (hulu)- 'A nephew who lost his parents and grew up in the hands of an uncle who runs a shopping mall faces a new truth after his uncle's sudden death.'
the legend of the blue sea (viki + hulu)- 'A magistrate's plan to release mermaids into the ocean backfires when they're caught by fishermen.' (legit I just miss mermaid media)
gyeongseong creature (netflix)- 'In the city of Gyeongseong in 1945, a group of young people thinking only of their own survival encounter a monster born of human greed and ask themselves what humanity is.'
dark hole (viki)- 'A mysterious black fog from a petrochemical factory's sinkhole turns people into bizarre figures; people who are not infected try to survive in this middle of pandemonium.'
the cursed (multiple)- 'An enthusiastic social issues reporter, fighting against the evil hidden behind an IT conglomerate, meets a teen-age girl who is possessed by a spirit and has special abilities.'
blood (multiple)- 'Dr Park Ji Sang believes in the sanctity of human life, and struggles to treat terminally ill cancer patients and save lives while at the same time being a vampire.'
the ghost detective (viki)- 'In this horror thriller drama, a detective who catches ghosts tries to solve the case of his younger sibling's death with the help of his assistant.'
possessed (netflix)- 'A smart-mouthed detective and a reclusive psychic medium join together to get rid of the ghost of a murder who was executed 20 years ago.'
connect (hulu)- 'A man is kidnapped and one of his eyes removed by a gang of organ hunters; his eyes was transplanted into body of a serial killer; the unwilling donor now has terrible visions as he witnesses terrifying attacks on the residents of Seoul.'
and now just because so many of these only have het romances, I looked up k-dramas with lgbtq representation... (some of these recommendations were from articles from screenrant, movieweb, this subreddit, herzindagi (bl-focused), allkpop)
schoolgirl detectives (viki)- 'Five teenage girls join together to investigate mysterious incidents that occur at their school, as well as help classmate deal with bullying, depression and other crises.'
be melodramatic (netflix, viki)- 'Three 30-year-old best friends, Jinju, Eun-jung and Hanju each pursue different paths in both career and love. Despite life's difficulties, the three friends can always return home at the end of the day and support each other.'
lily fever (available w/subtitles on youtube)- 'The story revolves around the budding relationship between Kim Kyung Ju and Jang Se Rang who meet when Kyung Ju can't find her passport and has to go to her friend's house to try and find it.'
love alarm (netflix)- 'In a world in which an app alerts people if someone in the vicinity likes them, Kim Jojo experiences young love while coping with personal adversities.'
nevertheless (netflix)- 'The story of a romance between a man who is annoyed with relationships but likes to flirt and a woman who wants to date but does not believe in love.' (wlw side couple romance)
