this is not a vagueblog at any wyll warriors, as i know the subject of parental abuse is very heavy, and i believe everyone has the right to their own opinions and experiences with fiction, BUT. in my opinion, for me, personally.

its ok to scold ur kid. in fact, scolding ur kid and teaching them right from wrong can be important. this is medieval times, baldurs gate is a dangerous place. even tho ulder was a busy man—and single fathers? are still allowed to have jobs and hobbies and their own goals? beyond simply taking care of their children 24/7? he still DID make time for wyll, and rheres a whole JOURNAL full of their memories together. its not just ine memory. theres pages and pages of it. they spent time together.

there are THOUSANDS of flaming fists. all under ulder’s control. theyre corrupt, a lot of them, are lawful evil, and a lot of them are dumbasses like the dude we saw harassing the sex worker in the carress. they odten switch sides to the guild, ulders sworn enemy, at the drop of a coin purse.

i, personally, as a father, would choose wyll. but thats not an easy choice. being a parent is hard. we’ll never know what ulder would have done if he had known the truth about mizora—but also, ulder fights valiantly in lturel when it is taken to the hells, and he stays behind to help the refugees. he was misled, he was tricked.

even if he wasnt, he has a responsibility to this city. he chose this, his whole life. hes not the perfect father, or the perfect man. there is no way to be a perfect father, or a perfect man. (u still shouldnt disown ur kid. but stories are ultimately about bad choices.)

but he loved wylls sense of adventure and fantasy, and he encouraged it. baldurs gate is a dangerous place where u can literally get stabbed all the time and upper city nobles can only really be in the lower city with guards like karlach. but wyll has happy memories, of being a rambunctious child, where he was safe, and close with his father, and loved.

wylls sense of whimsy literally comes from ulder! never forget the monster mermaid sex book was ulders! never forget that ulder fell in love with the woman with the wishing tree, he believed in balduran, and baldurs gate, and the heart of the gate

wyll and ulder’s story is bittersweet. love is hard. family is hard. if it was easy, if everyone was perfect, we’d all be robots.

wyll doesnt HAVE to forgive his father. but he loves him. there will always be great expectations from his father, there will always be distance. they are not connected at the soul or the hip.

but their love for each other matters, and they are so willing to try.

theyre a precious family, and tbh!!! really good representation?, a young Black queer dude and his dad, who loves him and supports him, and he is told he is allowed to marry whoever he wants and be whoever he wants to be with ulder’s blessing. (theyre torn apart by abuse, he experiences teen homelessness, but thats bc of his abuser isolating him. n he doesnt have to forgive his father for that. being disowned is also a real representation experience, and its one that can map on to queer/Black/disabled teen experiences, and i would never like, go. You Must Forgive Ulder And Think He’s The Best. but its really not ulder’s fault,p this happened, he really thought wyll sold out this city, he didnt know.)

like. they love each other, they get to have some of the best and most poetic, well-written dialogue in the game, it matters that they love each other, it matters that ulder had to work so hard to be grand duke and still had to make so many sacrifices

ulder is a good character in murder in baldur’s gate, but he is given so much heart, so much intimate joy and love in baldur’s gate 3. like compare any codex entry in the game to his journal entry about wyll. compare wyll’s voice when he says, “my father always said” to anyone talking about their abusers.

wyll was allowed to be a child! he was also respected as someone capable of having responsibilities and accountability for their own actions, and so sometimes he was scolded. he seems to love that he was scolded? tbh, it feels like such a love language between them. wyll gets into trouble (on purpose. why would he steal a peach. just pay for the peach.) he gets a scolding! kids do that, parents do that.

we dont know, even, what that scolding meant—and may i remind The Court, wyll was a public figure, just as his father was, and he was still allowed to have so much freedom to get into trouble. he gets a scolding, but thats it. he doesnt even really talk about any fancy upper city stuff, besides like, puke in duke portyr’s bushes, lol and that was grand duke of baldurs gate at the time. u need a lil scolding for that! and whose to say there wasnt a pat on the head or a squeeze on the shoulder afterwards?

ulder expects certain behaviors from wyll because he wants the best for him, because he believes in him.

hes the pride of the gate. he has pride in his son, and if u are proud of urself, if u love urself, u respect iurself and other ppl.

wyll had a happy childhood yall, and ulder raised him right, to have good morals and values a sense of duty and responsibility and JOY, it didnt pop out of a vacuum

also. it does matter that ulder goes. “my precious son, i will spend the rest of my life trying to make this up to u. how can u ever forgive me?” he doesnt EXPECT forgiveness. he KNOWS he hasn’t earned it. he WANTS to atone. he knows he made a mistake and did something unforgivable. even tho he did it for very reasonable reasons

wyll doesnt have to forgive him! but like. its complex. its a good ass story. wyll has a good ass story

@tasmanianstripes Okay! Welp, cracks knuckles time to ramble about this absolute mess of a family that i love dearly.

But, just to let you know, this stuff may change or is still being worked out, and also that hollow in my main au isn't exactly the focus, so these are not permanent ideas, nor dynamics i plan rn to completely explore / finish.

Basically what i mean is that hollow does indeed get trapped in the black egg and pk never figures out they arent empty, rough life.

My pk, i see him as a caring and also very selfless character, i imagine thats why he did the black egg plan at all, despite all the misery and pain it caused him and others- sacrificing his clean name and his children so everyone else can thrive.

So we have a selfless guy who cares about everyone a lot, hows that tie in with hollow?

First I'll start at the beginning! At the beginning was of course the abyss climb, hollow making it to the top and emptily watching their other siblings fall, and of course then taken in by pk, from their perspective, pk could be seen as a savior almost, saving them- though i think hollow either knew, learnt of it later, or wasnt 'alive' yet, they werent exactly there for those first moments.

And from there pk cared for them, which hurt him because of what and who they are, but for hollow it was more enlightening, over time with the short very very very quiet moments the two had together, i think a bond formed, though an odd one, which was hollow very subtly and unknowingly liking pk and looking up to him, and pk being reminded of all hes done, and how much suffering he's caused, but also a thin sense of fondness, cause he did see them somewhat as his kid, despite how hard he tried not to…

I think this bond was thin and very subtle, and no one had any clue besides the few times pk had realized he was too soft with them, (and reined himself in, (only to later soften again subconsciously…)) he didn't want to get close at all, because he knew he'd loose them, and that they had to stay empty, and he didnt want to taint them.

Plus, the vessel to him is quite a sad reminder of all hes done, all the bloodshed- all those children gone- i believe he hid away the void constructs due to that reason aswell… he has a few quite, quite bad memories of those times that just- he'd rather not relive…

But at the time pk was very alone, his root left to care for her gardens and he naturally isolated himself, the vessel was really his only 'companion', so even despite that, he managed to begin caring for them anyway, occasionally, maybe after awhile, managing to overlook the memories.

I think when pk was sure they couldnt be tainted by his antics, he began staying a little longer with hollow, specifically whenever he told them to stay somewhere. I think he joined them on occasion, staring out into either the gardens, the ballroom, off the balcony, or perhaps in his office, he reminiscing, reflecting, and wondering, and of course the vessel doing none of the above- enjoying the empty company, and maybe the painful guilt? Maybe he saw it as some sort of punishment? Idk prob not the last one.

But! Now we get into the part where hornet shows up! How joyous.

Now when hornet came to the palace she wasnt allowed to the upper floors, where the vessel was usually kept, to which she grumpily stomped away and later stole a key and got into said upper floors~

Hornet's first reaction to hollow was probably just "why are they so tall" then approached them and glared at them for a solid minute, haha. I think hornet and hollow's relationship would be nonexistent, i think she'd be curious about who and what they are but clearly they cant talk nor want to so she seeks answers elsewhere, they also dont seem intrigued by the idea of playing knights, too busy staring off balconies or something… which leaves their bond quite hollow. (Haha get it)

Now though, with pk and hornet, and hollow watching them- i think they wouldn't think of anything, but when the two get closer i think they'd feel very slightly insecure, noticing how hornet is so lively and clearly a person, and how pk reacts and cares for her- i think subtly it would make them question themselves, wondering if they should be more like her to get father's approval- but also the entire kingdom would be doomed if that happened, simply they'd be quite torn, but in the end they stay empty…

Now, ive mentioned the xero incident before, and rambling about hollow here it reminds me that chances are, hollow could swoop in and protect pk when it happens- which thinking of it, sounds very interesting and gives hollow perhaps more meaning for pk, since we dont see most of the past of pk and hollow in my au… it could show a different side of them? I will have to think about it more.

But thats nearly all, besides the last few scenes with pk and hollow, which is them getting sealed away- i think those would be really, really tough moments for pk, i think whilst hes readying hollow to be trapped for literally eternity i think he'd just be thinking and thinking of it, realizing that- damnit, hes going to miss them, hes really really going to miss hollow- realizing how much they mean to him probably is one of the most painful realizations for pk in the story- especially since he thought he tried his darnest not to get attached… i wonder if he'd do some sort of final goodbye, nothing sappy like "i love you" though- i don't think he could express that since hes been denying that for like 3 years(?) straight, though maybe "goodbye." Or some variation of that. "My hollow knight, goodbye." < maybe??????????? Is that too sappy???????? I think???????? Probably too sappy…

Anyway i think after the plan i think it'd affect pk big time, i think he'll be looking out at the balcony hollow used to be left at and he'd just wanna cry, and remembering that he doesnt need to do those little routines for the vessel anymore- he'll probably catch himself going to the vessel's room to get them or almost prepping a bath for them, or wondering if its about time to clean up their armor, or sharpen their nail- nonetheless when he remembers again he'll feel sadly empty, like something is missing.

But, to do a TLDR; hollow is empty, but subtly, very subtly, longs to be more, pk is overly caring and an absolute softie, but tries not to show it to avoid tampering the vessel, also hollow makes him sad due to their history, but pk is too caring of a guy and loves hollow anyway, in conclusion everyone is sad 👍

pjs daycare was a AU for undertale made by blogthegreatrouge. the au, was as it says, a daycare. basically all the sans aus were children, from like 3-6 i think, and the characters were... sanscest ship characters or sans fusions. one of the caretakers, and our- basic mc, is Paperjam, or PJ, the fusion between ink sans and error sans. i say fusion because i think that what they were originally intended to be before the fandom... yoinked them. aslo i refuse to ship sans aus together because thats WEIRD AS ALL SHIT. anyway. those are the basics, shipkids/fusion sanses are the caretakers and the sanses are children. interesting concept ig (i will make it better trust)

ok now that we have the basics down, lets get to the story. this was a ask blog so there wasnt much story, but from what i do remember, there were 2 major plot lines. the first plot line was uhm. borderline gr00ming. basically fresh sans, the satire sans au, has a crush on PJ. this fresh is i think about 3 yrs old. so ok, hes a kid, kids are weird. he claims he wants to marry pj. again, child, children say that stuff alot. and you think pj would be yk, normal and be like " no no, we cant do that" nicely and shit. WELL HE DOESNT. THIS BITCH SAYS "we cant get married righ now, but when your all grown up we can ^^" IM SORRY HUH. SIR. WHAT. not only that, later, there is a ask of how would pj react to adult fresh. in which its super weird with really gross sexual tension. not only that, lets follow in this aus rule, aus made by the same creator/s are gonna be related. ok. error, fresh and geno/aftertale are brothers. kinda weird but lets keep going here. pj in rouges interpretation is a ship child. A SHIP CHILD. MEANING FRESHIE HERE IS IS UNCLE?? ITS SO WEIRD?? also there is a mini plot line where ink and error like each other and its a big deal even tho, again, CHILDREN. also same person but i digress.

our next plotline is... where shit hits the fan. so, error, gets deathly sick and needs to go to the hospital. didnt know monsters had hospitals but ok. geno, error's older brother who is at most, 5, gets really depressed. and ik depression can come at any age, however, GENO here tries to commit farewell. this. doesn't. make. sense. a child isnt old enough to even comprehend death that well, let alone have the feeling to die AND ACT ON IT. not only that, right after stopping geno from leaving this mortal plane (isnt he immortal though?) they completely forget about it and have this weird romance between palette and goth (swap sans and dream sans) (geno and reaper) and its super weird, and gross (not as gross as nerd and jock but still) and palette is weirdly obsessive over goth and shit so its all just a huge pile of SHIT

oh yeah there is also this weird plot line with like this trio of mini villains, one being rouges self insert i think so. yeah.

anyway, that was pj's daycare. i will be reworking and remaking the entirety of this au. so uh.

if you wanna know about what happened to that sunken ship carrying 750 immigrants (of which around 100 survived), i can tell you but i cannot promise you i can keep my cool.

i’m gonna start biting ohmygosh okay. 

immigrants. refugees is probably the better word. those people took a ship from libye heading to italy. they were trying to leave their country to go to a better place, right? to live under better conditions. but you cannot do that “legally”. i hope you know how it goes. people from that area would travel on road, from turkey and then from greece to wherever they wanted to go. but as of recently, right at the borders of greece and turkey there was a wall built (wish this was a bad joke) by the greek government. the reason: to deter immigrants to pass the borders (since there are a lot of them in our country but that’s no fucking excuse since the EU literally funds the governement for this). and it worked, unfortunately. 

refugees had to find a different means to leave. so? travel overseas. it’s riskier but when you have no other option left, you take what you have. and it’s not the first time this has happened. it’s not the first time refugees have drowned and their bodies were found in greece’s coasts. we’ve mourned many people, many children. 

this time? this time it was different because this is the biggest ship the greek government has ever found “trespassing” their sea borders. (there could be others that were never found you know). the biggest ship with the most people on it. never before have there been 750 people abroad. and never before has a ship like that sunken. 

so what happened? based on what i know and not what the greek media claims, based on the survivors’ and the residents’ claims, the coastguard sinked that overcrowded fishing boat. yeah you heard me right. they towed their ship to that boat, probably in hopes to get it out of the greek sea borders so that malta would have to deal with it. malta’s sea borders weren’t that far away and keep in mind that towing in this case is illegal because it could be fatal (and it was).

so, the coastguard firstly claimed that they hadnt approached the boat until it was near sinking. after the survivors’ spoke their truth, they had to change their initial statement. and they did that quite fast. they said they approached them hours before it sunk in order to maintain their safety and supply the boat with food and water. according to them, the reason why the boat sunk was due to the people who were moving too much and tried to shake off any help given to them. it was dark and it wasn’t windy, no waves big enough to disrupt the boat. 

the greek authorities have lied, twice now, and their claims oppose those of the survivors’. survivors who lost their parents or their children. because governments make their lives harder and harder and when the people try to escape their fate, they realize they dont have the upper hand on the matter. and those humans who dont deserve to be called that, act like they care, announcing a 3-day national mourning. that happened a week ago. i havent seen any government officials talking abt the matter since then. (and ofc the only reason they pretend they care so much is because it’s elections season)

i am so done with the hypocrisy. we know the truth and we want justice to be served. but i really really wish it hadnt come down to this, i wish we didnt have to mourn for all the lost ones.

it isn’t the first time it happened. it isn’t the first time in this year that we have lost people thanks to our government’s incompetency. im tired of this. and im tired of people who vote for them, who back them up and excuse their actions. my heart hurts. it really does. as a kid of immigrants who had to go through hell to move across countries, who risked their lives to have a chance of living peacefully and under better conditions, it hurts. and it hurts even more to know that even if there’s a very very very slight possibility jsutice will be served, those people will never be the same again. justice wont be enough to bring their loved ones back. it fucking hurts.

ohh i have SUCH a controversial jennifer jareau opinion. and this is probably gonna be more like an essay. i wish i could say i was sorry.

everyone always says theyre anti jj slander, which is fine ofc, but just weird bc i NEVER see anyone slandering her. in my 3 years in the fandom, ive seen it happen maybe 5 times total, which sucks because she deserves so. much. more. hate.

in season 7, spencer tells her that she has mean girl vibes and she replies "i was a nice girl, especially to guys like you" which ALWAYS pissed me off because she literally just confirmed what he said? and everyone acts like it was a funny joke. she said that shit with her whole chest and meant it, and it wouldnt be *that* big of a deal if it was the only time. but shes consistently mean to him throughout the show, ignoring him, walking away, etc. spencer isnt even the only one shes like this to. and she just has a sense of superiority, idk how to describe it. just by the way she talks and interacts with those around her, you can tell. (while we're on that note, she also ignores her privileged a LOT. maybe not all the time, but theres been multiple times where she acts like she went through hell to get where she is. other than her sister passing, she had it completely easy. in terms of resources, opportunities, etc., she was basically born with a golden spoon in her mouth.)

in s14 when she confesses to spencer that shes always been in love with him, it just makes my blood boil. obviously he had been over her a long time (imo), but that was something she should've kept to herself bc it just brought alllll those feelings back to the surface. not to mention that hes the godfather of her children, and shes married, and will probably (definitely) doesnt know how she feels. thats literally emotional cheating on her part, even though reid didnt reciprocate it, it was still wrong of her to be that close to him without will knowing how she really felt.

there are other things i dont like abt her too, but those are the main things and im trying to keep this as short as possible. but i literally cant stand her, shes by far my least favorite character, and everyone acts like shes an angel sent from heaven, when really shes just a privileged bitch.

i like JJ a lot (i want her to be my mom </3) but i do agree with several of your points - she's definitely not the worst character, each and every character has a list of flaws that we could make, so this by no means makes her the worst, but it does make me angry <3

i just rewatched that 'mean girl' episode!! she doesn't even hesitate before saying 'guys like you', which, you're totally right, means he was right, and she was definitely a mean girl in high school. or even if she didn't say any of it out loud, she was still silently judging 'guys like him' and in high school you can always tells who's silently judging you. they're teenagers. they're not silent about it. the nasty looks they give you?? oh man. but i do think that the blame for ignoring spencer needs to be placed on all of the team members, because they do it all the time too, it's not just her. she has some pretty bad moments with him, but it's definitely something they all do and she shouldn't take the full blame

one scene of hers that really pissed me off was in reid's kidnapping two-parter in s2 (the hankel incident) where she was almost attacked by those rabid (?) dogs and she shot them and she's obviously shaken up and she tries finding reid and realizes what happened and she feels so much guilt for splitting up with him - which was not her fault, she didn't know and should not be held responsible for what happened to him - that she started trying to make other people mad at her?? she cornered derek who was grieving and stressed at the loss of his best friend and they're both sleep deprived and she says something like 'admit it, you hate me, you think it's my fault' AND I???? GIRL. he is being so nice to you?? he was literally like oh honey if you need time off i know you're really shaken up and we can take care of this and and and AND SHE WAS LIKE oH yeah suRe just admit it i'm the worSt everybody hATEs mE- I WAS... this is not about you. go get therapy for the dog attack that you just almost suffered?? do not stand around a crime scene and pester the victim's best friend and delay the investigation because you're feeling guilty. go talk to someone about it. take a few days off. again, i totally get that she was shaken up and hopped up on adrenaline, but everyone told her to go get some rest and she was like no i think i will make myself the problem instead <3

I don't think any of your other anons have mentioned this yet but if they have correct me! But a really key difference between book and show Lestat is his age not just in pure number [150 vs 30 something when he first meets Louis] but the age when he was turned [~35 vs 21]. Cause show Lestat even as human would've already sown his oats, lived it up and is basically middle aged for 18th century France life expectency before he's even turned. Then on top of that, he's spends another 100 years or so fucking around, going on adventures, trying to find a companion, having failed relationships, dirt napping before he finally meets Louis. Book Lestat's life was very much cut short due to his youth when turned, he goes from a bad relationship with Nicki to a bad relationship with Louis and then spends many decades barely alive and napping. Show Lestat at 35 should've been settled down, married with kids already during his time? [whether he actually did that or not is irrelevant, that's what was normal for men of his age]. Like I think that's why show Lestat is so much more of a patriarch in the show?

I don't know what else they plan to do with this change in the show but its one of the most fundamental changes to his character I'd say!

before i go along id like to correct the rl perception of life expectancy u have. a lot of ppl (not just u!) conflate ‘average life expectancy’ with a vague notion of the ‘average adult life span’. what life expectancies account for is the societal underpinnings in health namely the sheer numbers of maternal, infant and young child mortality due to the sheer risk of pregnancy alone& infectious diseases prior to the advent of germ theory, clean water systems & the widespread use of vaccination/s. chances are, if u lived past the age of say 5-10 and/or survived ur pregnancy, u already beat a number of odds & could very well live to old age [certainly the numbers of ‘respect ur elders’ hierarchies in cultures worldwide support this. but i get ur point& im being the pedantic ass i complain about. adolescence did not exist in les time as we know it so hed be considered a man in his teens-early 20s, and in fact in most of human history ppl got married 20s& above so if book les didnt get hitched idt show les necessarily had to neither? esp cuz hes still the younger of sons.]

i agree! i do think og iwtv lestat was a force of nature & a manic figure, but he was certainly more pitiful than his amc counterpart [in no significant part due to 1976 iwtv lewis narration] and being aged up certainly can play a role into how much of a firmer authority figure he is in this version of the show so soon. i think this change is fascinating, and imo draws both from iwtv/tvl as well as subsequent [consistent beats of, an exploration of] characterization of lestat as the pinnacle of vampirism, the brat vampire prince lording over in later works of the chronicles. hes not only stronger in a patriarchal sense but also in the literal sense of what hes capable of doing as a vampire. much to think of! louis also being an older man [33-34 as opposed to his early 20s] when turned also has sweeping implications for his character, and performatively equalizes their dynamic in the eyes of the viewer. & louis himself in s1 selectively likens himself to both lestat’s equal, yet u have the ‘lover, murderer, maker’ line being repeated & louis saying ‘could the children murder the father?’, likening himself to claudia in that they are both lestat’s children & claudia in the rue royale timeline compares louis to a pitiful housewife or something like that .. not to mention this👇🏾

[i feel like ive talked about this scene ten times. from claudia being the exact age/close to the age louis himself was here when he was turned, to lestat denying claudia her adulthood , louis selectively playing up her adulthood, and claudia attempting to neutralize this family dynamic & claim her own sense of maturation by making all of them siblings… levan akin ur everything to me 😵‍💫🫣]

★ so many people say that him creating the chunnin exams was a horrible idea and completely goes against his wishes/ideologies that children shouldn't die on the battle field... which is incorrect. if you remember children cannot enter the chunin exams without the permission of their master/teacher, who is a jonin. as well as the consent of all three members of their team, and they have to be genin already in order to enter. they have months to prepare - incase their teacher tells them -. the chunnin exams is more of a 'are you sure you want to be a chunin? this is what it takes, it's nothing like being a genin'.. they also have to be approved by the hokage/kage in order to participate. so, these exams are rather to prepare kids on how real missions are like. they can always give up and leave the exams so they don't need to participate. we also cannot be sure how the exams looked like while he and hashirama were the hokages. we can clearly see it's different in boruto as well, so it's safe to assume that these exams change pretty often.

★ i find the theory that kakashi's dad is tobirama's son so interesting and i would love to learn about it if it was canon !! but he probably had no children at all... like we know of all of the hokages family but him.. hashirama had children for sure because we have tsunade, minato has naruto, tsunade didnt have any due to trauma of losing dan, sarutobi had asuma for a son and konohamaru for a grandchild.. tobirama probably worked until he died

★ i hate the idea that he is a cold person.. he is very emotional? he jokes around and is fond of people around him.. his humour is sarcastic and dry, he is passionate about konoha, he made a whole system because he didn't want any child to die the way his seven year old brothers did, he takes care of hashirama, complimented both naruto and minato, he protected sasuke during the war.. which a lot of people seem to forget? there is also more than just one panel of him smiling and showing other emotions... he is logical, but he doesn't push away his emotions, he just doesn't show them the way other characters do.. him being cold is just a very fanon view, he is just more cautious and has more boundaries

★ the view that he is racist is also very fanon.. like, first of all, they are all japanese?- and you can change out the word for clanist, but it still won't be correct. he doesn't really hate the uchihas, he hates madara because he traumatised him, which is fair. that man not only made hashirama almost kill him but also almost convinced him to commit suicide even if they weren't close, even if they were on a battle field. of course he will be nervous of what the sharingan and love can drive uchihas to do. tobirama isn't a perfect character, but he isn't horrible either. he is very interesting if you pay attention to him. i think a lot of hate just comes from uchiha obsessed naruto fans ? idk tho, but he even made the uchiha clan be the police force because not only were they qualified for it but to show respect to them after having a talk with hashirama (this is canon).. when he says 'uchiha evil' he is talking about the sharingan.. which is caused by trauma relating to anger.

★ tbh i like the idea that tobirama and naruto could be related.. like, it make sense the uzumaki and senju clans are distant cousins and often married between clans.. like, it is not certain wether the two are actually related or not, but it would be pretty cool in my opinion, would also mean tsunade and naruto are related which would make naruto reminding her of kawaki more emotional

★ the amount of things this man invented is so attractive!!! like half of them could definitely murder you but it is still so attractive like imagine how hard he must have worked!!! however i wonder what made him create edo tensei? maybe the loss of his brothers who he just wanted to apologise to? or did he just want advice from someone dead, like sasuke? its canon that hashirama knew of it and was against it, yet he did it anyway, so it really just makes me wonder

★ my favourite thing he invented is probably the academy.. like these kids can just go study for years and decide what the hell they want to be instead of being forced to be a shinobi no matter what thats amazing !! its so cool bc its obvious he and hashirama never had that !!! i also like how he made the idea of genin teams so they aren't just thrown in there to have to figure everything out by themselves... like he is obviously a very emotionally intelligent man/character

★ i once saw someone complain that he doesn't look his age.. but like.. he is a senju isn't he? they are known for looking way younger than their actual age, well aside from their incredible power! what helps me remember this is tsunade.. she uses her own jutsu to look young, but senjus generally look younger.. so he has nice genes not from his father and he could have had his own jutsu? i doubt he did, but if he would have it wouldn't surprise me, he seems to pay attention to his appearance

★ i think a lot of people don't realise that he is an albino? a lot of times I see people debating how he would look like as an uchiha, or to justife senjus being diverse in looks... which is like ok but he is just an albino person, white hair, pale and red eyes.. won't make him any less cool

★ i love his character design so much!!!! its so interesting to me that he generally likes loose comfortable clothing for everyday use (seen from flashbacks) or just long sleeved ones !!.. also !! his fighting/action/mission outfit is so cool too! i love the furr a lot bc it looks really useful !! like it looks amazing but its also great so no one can stab his neck with a kunai in fights.. i wonder if that is on purpose or just coincidental? like ofc it's soft, but no one can suddenly stab your neck if they don't see it

★ love how his fighting style is misleading the enemy !!! like making people think they survived an attack of his but the next thing they know they are being attacked up close.. like, he does it often enough to be a fighting style but never enough to be predictable that is so cool

★ i could talk so much about him but i will end this by saying that he has really pretty eyes,, like y'all see that man? a pretty motherfucker, i love the way his face is drawn a lot, it showcases his personality and aura

okay i got interesting take

in my opinion, like 90% of straight romances/ships are FUCKING BORING, and usually try to spice it up, by adding more girls, this opinion i hold so dear, that i was on verge from.trying to strangle my friend, for saying <insert harem name> was really good romance.

But why could that be so? because lots of straight romances just follows base line of, "cute/shy" or whatever girl, and more dominant than her guy with interests like "i literally just exist in this series with no other purpose than wanting gf", and follow most basic set gender standards, and most basic made up relationship dysmorphia where girl is clearly bottom, and guy is the top/he "leads" the relationship, you get what i mean? 100% not, it wont stop me tho.

While yuri/yaoi ships always derive from most boring version of relationship that church people gaslit us into thinking is only valid way, by sheer fact that either both character fill same role or one of them has to not follow the most basic made up gender rules, like bottom.guy, or maybe huge girl who searches for little bunny girl etc. Like, just taking most basic romance plot ever, and genderbending one of characters by itself changes whole vibe so much!

But ofc, not all straight romances are bad, that would imply any romance is bad (i mean, there are few bad romances, like wanting to date children, but for sake of this ride of a post, we are talking about 2 consenting people of either similar age for teenagers, or just 2 consenting adults ok?), but the only good straight romances i saw, were the ones that just didnt really gave much fuck about being the most generic romance plot, and doing that would make any romance good (m/m, m/f, f/f etc), one of my favourite examples, would be violet evergarden! yeah, it does for the most part follow the rules of strong protective man, and small fragile girl (except for the fact that violet absolutelly kicks ass), but series itself isnt about 2 charcaters dating, Its about violet learning what love is, and not just romantic one, she learns about sibling love, parent/child love, love for world, love for work and many more! What makes it good is not us seeing them dating, its how we togehder with Violet slowly learn more about love, slowly growing attached to him, this love story is very beautifull, because its not focusing on that part.

(at this point i had hard time finding more proof of good hetero romances, so i had to dig throught list if stuff i watched etc) Also, one of my fave mangas of all time, was domestic na kanojo, where the romance being interesting, was enforced by, lemme check my notes, 2 sisters competing for their step brother, where 1 is his teacher and other is girl he lost virginity with. You can see im streching my arguments at this point huh. Whatever, in this series, what makes it actually interesting love story and not easy porn material, is all the hardships charcaters go throught, and questions it gives! Natsuo wanting hina, but knowing its just some stupid kids love, constantly hurting rui as resoult of his inner conflict about hina, wanting to get close with rui, and suddenly cutting it off because he is just a kid who is scared, of what might be, as i used to be kid, i very much know the feeling od wanting to do something, but being scared to commit, constantly swinging between wanting it, and being afraid, only hurting other in process.

okay this one is quite boring romance, but in interesting way so as per last argument, lets talk about "Rascal does not dream about bunny girl senpai" where mc gets the girl after like 2 episodes, and then we just see them, chill like cute couple, or get a bit jealous, its not much, but i find it interesting to see quite realistic (from standpoint of someone who's longest relationship lasted 2 months, including 1 month breakup), but she anime isnt about it, so seeing them being nice, realistiy behaving couple is nice addition

In conclusion, straight romances fucking suck and dont recomend them to me without 3 pages explanation why it doesnt suck, harems get instant no-no tho

ive been made aware that i have strong opinions on my personal ranking of percy jackson characters so im making a post about it. bc thats what we do here on tungle.hell. experiencing brain worms? spread the word. @garecc i invite you to include your own brain worms here

for those who may not know, which i expect is most of my followers here, Travis (garecc) and i go way back to the days of a trials of apollo discord server that has since crumbled under the weight of various discourse and does not exist at this time. so if anyone understands pjo brain rot, its him.

ONTO THE RANKING. ill be focusing on main characters bc if i include side characters we'll be here all day and Sally Jackson would be every character in this top 5.

1. Hazel Levesque. Deserves better in the eyes of fandom. Gained pretty good control over the mist within one book. Has a cool magic horse. Similar tragic backstory to Nico, but not sulking about it. No shame in sulking, but its cool to see someone go through bad shit and come out still feeling mostly okay.

2. Will Solace. Unfortunately for me, I haven't finished the trials of apollo series yet, so i dont know THAT much about Will as he's primarily a background character. But Apollo kids and medics both get my utmost respect and appreciation, always. and he's a little bit of a sarcastic little shit, but the kind where people dont get annoyed with you bc its almost always funny and lighthearted. i know from hearing people talk about tsats that he's also a Sad Boy (which is to be expected as a demigod, tragedy physically cannot leave you alone.), and im excited to read about someone with my personality go through a mental breakdown :D!

3. Frank Zhang. Listen to me. How can he not be this high up. I don't even know where to begin with this guy, he's so gods damned cool. He's just such a good character and a good dude too! I'd love to be his friend. What a sweetheart, iirc he was the only person at camp jupiter who wasnt freaked out by Nico? he's so nice. children of Ares/Mars are usually mean, and he's so nice. i love him so much. also his life force is connected to a chunk of wood, which is kinda neat. he's a legacy of poseidon. he's canadian. im pretty sure his first name is Westernized bc his grandma calls him Fai, my last name was westernized when my great grandparents came over so i sort of get it though not nearly to the same degree. I ALMOST FORGOT HE CAN SHAPESHIFT!!! DUDE what a cool guy. we gotta move on, i gotta cut myself off. give him more attention in your fan works

4. Nico di Angelo. obviously a fan favorite, but im talking canon Nico here. im not talking about an uwu soft emo boi. im talkin about a sarcastic, pessimistic, deeply insecure little dude. listen, im not gonna talk about the things i love about nico because its been said a million times. its nothing new. im just gonna say that i love reading about characters that go through awful awful trauma and still overcome and find joy on the other side.

5. Rachel Elizabeth Dare. so my impulse is to put Leo here bc i adored him when i first read HoO. and if i didnt really think about it, i wouldve put him. but... Rachel!! how can you not love her! a mortal lady who can see through the mist, she fought with a hairbrush, she's the liveliest and loveliest oracle of delphi camp halfblood has ever and will ever know, she’s from money and hates it, she's an activist, an artist, way more helpful than the last oracle for sure. the mummy in the attic just left you to fend for yourself, Rachel will at least try to help you interpret what a prophecy means. she's blunt and talks a mile a minute, i love seeing my "flaws" represented positively in media.

honorable mentions: Leo Valdez of course, easily my number 6 spot. Apollo/Lester, we love seeing immense character development. Grover Underwood, probably the first time i ever had a definitive favorite character. Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, romance would be dead and we wouldnt have a series without them.

First impression: im gonna pull from 11 year old me for this i didnt think about him often but he was like. you know. cool presence like spencer from icarly. very funny character very chill guy

Impression now: hes probably the single most generally important character to understanding the overall Vibe of adventure time holisitcally. hes so important. he sucks. hes incredible. he struggles intensely with the fight between his spirituality and denial of pleasure and his fleshly desires. and he has so much flesh

Favorite moment: How to fucking pick. gut reaction is just most of the episode 'No One Can Hear You' because while that episode is famous for the deer with hands its famous to me because during my most recent rewatch of the show it was really where i went. oh. thats a psychotic break. this is a noticable pattern with him where he decides to not confront reality when its scary to him. its so fascinating. i think its the most frightening he ever is in the show, partially cause we are having this realization at the same time as finn is. that jake may not always be stable. second choice is princess cookie, as it comes well before jake's criminal past is strongly established and yet his empathy towards someone unstable in a rough situation comes Full Force. ill talk about this more in relationships because..

Idea for a story: I want to put him in resident evil 7 and 8 situations ive talked about this before. i want to put him in ethan winters situations. my current largest story idea for him is him slowly losing his sanity over a period of time trying to find finn while playing both sides in a war and losing sight of trying to stop it. I also want to write my own story kind of exploring his like. gestures vaguely unresolved feelings about his alien form. i dont think he should have ever gone back to complete normal it feels cheap.

Unpopular opinion: im the only one on this goddamn earth who understands the point of why he was kind of a deadbeat dad. i.e HE WASNT it was a messed up situation with no true irl counterpart. he wanted to be a mother. he has fantasies of being a mother up through the twilight of the series, and the fact that he was not present in his children's life while they were children is something that was completely out of his control because they grew up so fast. the fact he was not Allowed to nurture them is the tragedy of it!! ocarina is as much about kim kil whan reconciling the idea of his father being the way he is as it is jake trying to reach out for any connection that anything he cares about means anything

Favorite relationship: Finn and jake's relationship is quite literally the most important thing in the show and its so easy to flatten but its so so so so so so so complex and also. they love eachother. the depths of that love are unfathomable. simple as that. its a kind of undefinable relationship i find so compelling.. its. jake and finn rely on eachother so much youd think itd be unhealthy but it ISNT and its because they never expect anything from the other that they arent. jakes feelings about finn though related to that are so fascinating because he has a kind of consistent.. discomfort? whenever faced with the fact that finn can hurt people in a meaningful serious way. he doesnt like it. he doesnt like when finn, panicking in the water, attacks him. it makes him wanna shut down and not deal with the situation and its so interesting to think about. and this doesnt detract at all from how much jake depends on finn in a real, loving, genuine way. he loves that kid. hed get sick and die if he thought finn was turning out bad/like him. they protect each other (I AM FORCEFULLY DRAHHED OFFSTAGE WITH A CANE

hi, i'd like to try to answer this with as much proof as i can, as i do feel the statements made are NOT ACCURATE to reality.

i first want to start off by saying you arent a bother AT ALL. this is a very good question, and its one that is a bit more complicated than that.

theres the accusation that Depp threatened black peoples lives. this is unfathomably untrue, and i cant believe that i got AS TWISTED AS IT DID. i've linked an explanation before, as it couldnt have be explained more clearly.

Depp was drinking. the "shot" is a shot of alcohol. its very blatant once you know the context.

now, lets talk about the native american claim. as someone who is indigenous, its something i think we SHOULD talk about.

in the past, johnny has claimed to be (i am ASSUMING, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG) a mixed cherokee, and i only assume this based on how the media portrayed his claims.

this is a hill i will DIE ON as a cherokee. MIXED CHEROKEE'S EXIST. my families has tries to the blackfoot cherokee specifically, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE-- THEY ARE NOT A TRIBE.

a LOT of indigenous people were subject to the cruelest tortures well after we "gained our rights" in america. we were subject to forced sterilization at late at the early 80's, and native children were taken off of their tribes by the government and adopted out to white families.

Now, this is very VERY TRICKY. because you are actively apart of a white family. this lead to a TON OF WHITE PEOPLE claiming "they were apart of the blackfoot-cherokee tribe" and this lead to the demonization of the term.

due to this, a LOT and i mean A. LOT. of native people grew up not knowing they were native. this lead to a whole generation of people who do not know their native heritage because they didnt grow up in it. some of my cousins identify as blackfoot cherokee, (my great grandfather was blackfoot) and thats the sole reason WHY blackfoot-cherokee exists. as a label for those who DO know their heritage.

personally, i dont see myself as blackfoot cherokee. i TECHNICALLY am, but i actively realize that if i were to join a tribe, i would have to "pick a side". this leads to a ton of confusion for people who GENUINELY GREW UP WITH THEIR PARENTS FROM TWO DIFFERENT TRIBES.

these people grew up WITH BOTH CULTURES. they grew up hearing stories from BOTH tribes. they grew up actively participating in their heritage, and this is all seen as "a waste" because they identify as blackfoot-cherokee. there are actually MANY MANY conferences that people who GENIUNELY learned from both tribes due to their parents AND grandparents, and speak out to spread awareness that blackfoot-cherokee isnt a tribe, but a mixed culture. its simply when two different people meet, and create a kid.

now, all of this explanation IS IMPORTANT. because not only has depp claimed to be cherokee or creek, he was fucking 'adopted' by the comanche nation chairmen in new mexico. (im not sure the legitimacy of said adoption but i still find it very cool)

either way, he IS an honorary member of the comanche nation tribe. not just that, but his explanation OF his native american history matches the timeline of those whom were forcefully kidnapped from their homes and adopted out and those who were forcefully kidnapped from their homes and put into "boarding schools" (where they taught native that their culture and heritage was BAD, and that they were to act like white people.) i UNDERSTAND why it is so controversial for him to mention him being mixed tribe, especially without proper certification. but he of all people would know his history.

he even has a tattoo for his great grandmother, whom he was very proud of.

In middle school I had a teacher who would spend every lesson 1. bitching how we were all useless good-for-nothings, 2. how much her daughters (somewhere in the 5-9 age range i believe) were so much better than other children, us included, 3. fixating on eating disorders, and 4. fixating on motherhood. She didnt teach us anything important, it was a class we only took for a year called "technics", idk if uou burgers have it, we mainly did the basics of technical drawing and some simple paper crafts -- thats of course if we were doing anything at all that was related to the subject, she made us do a paper on anorexia and bulimia for whatever fucking reason at some point. For additional context, we were 13-14 and it was an all girls class (not a fancy all girls school, just a normal, rather shitty public middle school, the class just happened to have no boys). Her teaching technique was to spend nearly an hour lecturing us about how useless we were for not knowing how to do shit in the vein of cleaning windows, how her 8 year old daughter already cleans windows, and then do maybe half the work, and then talk about her personal life some more, necesarilly mentioning something about anorexia being bad for you because it fucks with your fertility. And at some point you just kind of recognize, there's no arguing with this kind of person, especially when shes in the position of power and authority, and has been for years. So we'd say shit to intentionally make her angry, I remember one day she was telling us how wonderful her daugher was for already knowing how to make cereal for herself - and I kid you not, the kid only poured dry flakes into a bowl because she wouldnt allow her to handle hot milk yet. Of course the overarching theme being, "you useless shits cant even feed yourself", i guess she started questioning us if we make our own breakfast? And one of my friends fuxking told her she doesnt know how to make a sandwich lol. And she fucking fell for the bait immedieately. One day she was going off about, i dont even remember what, but it was something to do with being a mother, and how its basically the most important thing ever - to a class of kids barely out of elementary school, i bet half of us havent even really hit puberty yet. i want to tell a story about my teen expirience with pedo gal. theres no advices or conclusions, i just tell what happened to me once. its not really ed related, and also its not really that bad and serious expirience but i tend to take many things too lighthearted and you really may be triggered by this, so tw, cw, idk how to tag, read at your own risk.

so i was 14 or 15 year old kid, fat, ugly, weird, bullied, and very lonely. i listened to black metal a lot (i still listen to it but not that much). i was in internet black metal groups and sometimes posted good shit in one of them. admin of it dm me and we talked a lot. her nickname was crow. she was a 26y.o. girl who didnt look like a metal fan at all. she was very normal looking girl, pretty, with good make up and short pink skirt. we started to meet occasionally and my mom liked her. later crow said that she specially looked for kids who doesnt have too controlling parents, even slightly neglected ones.

we talked online a lot and she kind of wanted relationships. i didnt really wanted ones but i thought it would be fun. we had a chat: me, her and one guy, he was maybe 16-17 y.o. me and him felt that like some funny unserious shit like lol ok. crow told about her other relationships with boys even younger than me, at least one boy was like 13 y.o. there were at least 2 of them, both blackers-hipsters in glasses. also she kind of tried to make out with elder women, idk about detail. ah and there was at least 1 grown up guy she got money from.

she convinced that boys to send her dickpics i guess. and she showed me that pics. she thought its funny, i thought "ew jeez okaay". i didnt send her my nudes even tho she wanted. actually we never did anything illegal, the biggest thing was shy childish kiss on the lips. maybe she wanted more but she never pushed. her smutty texts and pics made me kind of uncomfortable but i was really lonely and bored so i decided to just observe what will be next.

we walked sometimes together idk if can call it a date. she treated me like a child and i liked it. she ride with me on a children train ride, she bought me my favorite pastries and sodas and talked about how fat she is and how she dieting and tries to lose weight (she was much thinner than me of course). she gave me a cool bracelet with spikes, i still wear it. she had no morals and made fun out of everything. once in her fake account with profile pic of the youngest boy she "date" she posted an image of a dog head(decapitated) and made fun out of people who were disgusted. she had a lot of face accounts and often tried to trick me with it and make fun of me later(she succed only once). she made fun of my obsession over hungary, love for black metal and hairy legs. she could make out and tell smut out of blue, and sometimes it was the funniest shit possible. and she could make you more guilty, uneasy and disgusted bu yourself in the subtliest ways possible. she loved to rot and ruin kids' minds and it shows. she studied psychology before and she could be psychologist but idk if she practiced. i never met a good psychologist in my life anyway lol.

the last time we met was winter 2015. she saw that i cant be good for something she want and i was getting older anyway so she focused on that 13y.o. boy. she told me how he loves her, sends her cds and merch and how his parents hate her and send her death threats. shortly after we stop communicate and her last profile pic was a photo where she and that boy are kissing.

A GARAK EPISODE. A GARAK EPISODE. everyone blow the horns. now my thing is im hoping that since bashir has been relatively 'less cringe' in s2 that this will also apply to a garak episode because i unfortunately had a hard time enjoying his first outing bc i have bad taste

bashir is really all in on this 'garaks a spy' thing and thats cringe but very cute. like its very... dorky. its dorky what hes doing. and clearly garak thinks its funny considering the two clearly have a rapport, so this owns. "what can i say to convince you that I'm-" "plain, simple garak?" "precisely!" now thats good dialogue baby

oh we're going like. mach 10 into this bad boy. like 3 times in as many minutes we have hammered in this point about cardassian war orphans on bajor. bliing.

oh. ohhh this is gonna be a hell of an episode.

there is something very weird going on in this episode and i cant quite put my finger on it. maybe its the way that there were two scenes, separated by not much, that had very clearly been shot at the same time, one after the other (the two were bashir and sisko talk to the bajoran man). not a problem, natch, but the. pacing? feels a little off. im 13 mins in and im sort of unclear on how this plans to resolve. the actual answer is, and will be 'ask the boy' but star trek has a dogshit record (for me) of considering the autonomy of the children in their narratives, except when those children are adults in kid bodies.

sisko, watching bashir ask dukat questions: this is fascinating, both for the questions and the fact the stations doctor has decided to just march in and do that.

okay so she starts by having a point, yknow, Dont be Racist to Rugal, and then goes for a cardassian dish when the one thing we know about Rugal is that he's been raised by Bajorans? for night one i feel like id play it safe with a bajoran dish, make him feel at home (for the fact that 'home', presently, has been Bajor). sweet gesture but hm? and he didnt eat it, mannnn. keikoooo.

thank god SOMEONE is advocating for Rugal's right to have a say in where he goes, THANK you obrien. a low bar we have cleared for the love of god.

i feel like this episode is trying to say something and isn't. quite getting there. that or i am too white for a story about internalised racial prejudice. i will concede that also.

oh this genuinely does kinda hurt because pa'dar comes in so brash and confident and now hes just desperately trying to find some way to connect to this lost son of his, ;would you like to see some pictures of you as a child?' 'no!' oh my heart. OH MY HEART. oh poor pa'dar. obrien tried to warn him. poor man. like even though there's some, for lack of word, "whack political shit" going on, pa'dar is genuinely emotional invested.

alright so the ep in s1 with garak didnt really give me anything but now im like ah yea no i see the vibe, the vibe of bashir/garak is coming into focus, this is great.

im. inconclusive on the episodes actual quality? i am kinda annoyed it once again ended with adults overruling the child in the situation. sure, you can make a case that rugal isn't given much choice in the matter, given his upbringing, but surely there's some middle ground that lets him experience the culture of his biological father for a time before coming to a decision? arrangements about shared custody? SOMETHING? like. augh. auuuuugh.
