I don’t know about you, but I’m really hoping and praying for a future paleo doc to show off how insanely diverse the fauna in the Morrison Formation was.

Like I can imagine a documentary portraying a watering hole scene during a dry spell sort of like what we see in Etosha National Park:

But instead, it’s all manner of sauropods, stegosaurids, ornithopods, small theropods and pterosaurs all crowding around a little watering hole or drying river bed.

Prehistoric planet did something along these lines in their Desert episode, but the Morrison would be a spectacular place to have this kind of portrayal.

A side-by-side comparison of the two most famous theropod dinosaurs of North America, both of which lived more than a hundred million years apart from each other: the 8-9 meter-long, 3-meter-tall Allosaurus fragilis of the Late Jurassic and the more massive, and potentially more powerful, 12-13-meter-long and 4-meter-tall Tyrannosaurus rex of the late Cretaceous. Both these two predators, which had very strong olfactory bulbs and therefore a strong sense of smell as well as a proclivity to hearing low-frequency sounds and therefore low-frequency vocalizations) will be the subject of a heavily-researched future video that will compare them based on their feeding behaviors and stat, so stay tuned!
