so SO!! I thought about how they would live together..

Ide would invite Matsuda to move into his apartment, taking their relationship to a new level. I'm sure he helps Matsuda move, carries boxes of his things and suitcases, and then complains about back pain :'D

I am also sure that Matsuda, before moving, knew where almost everything in Ide's apartment was located. So once they're done moving things, Matsuda will find ointment quickly for Ide's back and give him a massage before applying it :> 

I think it’s convenient for them to live together, because it seems to me that despite Matsuda's clumsiness, he doesn’t create a mess at home and keeps everything clean. Especially the clothes in the closets. His clothes are always ironed and clean.

And.. Ide is obsessed with the question of keeping his house clean! So I think they will feel very comfortable living together. 

Matsuda, who is forced to get up early for work, probably likes to sleep a lot on the weekends because he watches TV until late at night. Ide is an early bird, so he tries to go to bed earlier and forces Matsuda to do the same “for his own good". And he will most likely scold Matsuda for spending too much time in front of the TV screen. Something like, "We're staring at the computer screen at work almost all day! Give your eyes a rest." — anyway, Ide joins him all the time simply because this is another opportunity to hug him.

I have a hc about Matsuda making skincare things. And he will definitely make Ide join in this :D Ide will resist, saying that this "girly thing". (He was raised that way, like that skincare products are only for girls.) Matsuda will prove the opposite, showing that the products he bought are for men. 

And after Matsuda successfully manages to persuade him, Ide will actually be enjoying this whole thing. And Matsuda will give him a lot of kisses on the cheek afterwards. I think for this reason, Ide will take part in his skin care routine.

I also think the longer they live together, the more they enjoy spending lazy weekends at home together. They probably go out on dates in good weather or on holidays, but the rest of the time they are staying indoors. ♡

Friends ought to stay friends; no matter how attractive they find each other, right? 

That was what you thought anyway, and that was somewhat of a rule you abided by. You had plenty of attractive friends, you weren’t stupid, you had eyes. And you saw them get flirted with loads of times too. Especially your classmates: Suguru, Satoru, Shoko… three insanely attractive people, each with their unique charm. 

There were brief moments of attraction you had towards Shoko specifically. You would never try and pursue her, she didn’t seem to be the type to date much, anyway, and you valued your friendship too much to act on just some attraction, even though it sometimes took over your entire body. 

It didn’t matter that when she looked at you with tired eyes and a lazy grin, your heart skipped a beat. Or that you smelled her subtle perfume as you helped her get home after a night where she had one too many drinks. She had looked at you with a rosy blush on her cheeks, eyes glazed over a little… it was all too much. But you hadn’t done anything, had kept your mouth shut. Like a good friend should. 

So why you didn’t stop today, as she leaned in just a little too close, was a mystery to you. You hadn’t stopped your lips from touching hers, you didn’t stop when they moved in sync, you didn’t move when you stumbled into your room, clothes discarded quickly in disorganized piles as you didn’t stop your hands from exploring all over her body, leaning into her touches as well. 

It was more than an hour later when you were finally done, the afterglow fading away as you heard Shoko sit up to find her purse somewhere, in pursuit of her pack of cigarettes. You watched her do so, feeling guilty about not stopping yourself earlier, but mostly catching yourself admiring her naked frame as she bent over and retrieved the cigarettes and lighter from her purse. 

You wanted to say something, anything to break the silence. You hadn’t talked about this, about possible feelings. You didn’t know if she had any feelings for you. Was this just a one time thing? Would this change your friendship? 

Your thoughts were interrupted by Shoko grabbing your bathrobe and putting it on, then cracking open a window so she could blow the smoke out. You pulled up a blanket not to be cold, feeling suddenly extremely naked and vulnerable now her body was covered up. 

“Does it also feel awkward for you now?” 

You spoke up, unable to bear the tension any longer. She didn’t reply immediately, only adding to the tension. Instead, she took another draw of her cigarette, smoke escaping from her lips as she spoke. 

“A little bit.” 

“So… what now?” 

“That is up to us to decide, no? Do we want more of this?” 

You sighed, thinking for a bit before deciding that it was now or never.” “I do.”

About the Fan/OC-DMC Comic I mentioned in my previous post.

HEY FRIENDS! IT'S BEEN A MONTH SINCE I LAST POSTED LOL. I haven't posted because I got sick for about a week, then got busy with helping one of my siblings with moving equipment between different studios for another week. Then, I caught up with a few friends that I hadn't interacted with since forever and played some games with them. But now I'm back!

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU for the follows, the likes, and the... REBLOGS- THATS WHAT YOU CALL THEM, RIGHT? I really appreciate them!!! I literally jogged around my room when I saw someone like my post, or i see a new follower or a new reblog. Like for real, I start cheesing really hard, huehuehue.

(There may be some repeats from my previous posts for the users who have seen it)

I originally planned to release some pages around the first week of June, but there were a change of plans. The remaining time i had was going to be me practicing drawing certain demons from the game, certain backgrounds that I am not used to drawing (especially if it's indoors. But then again, i did mention that this little comic will just be for fun and practice/experiment before my big project.) But since plans have changed, I have training/school starting the first week of June. And then having to go to family events, and then having to fly over to Las Vegas sometime between mid-end of June for about a week. So that whole month is technically screwed, and the official date will be around the first week of July, most likely the first Sunday of that month. Too lazy to check calendar. But i mean yay! More time to practice! So yeah, by July, I should be accustomed to my school schedule and have at least a few pages done by then.

I was thinking of another platform to publish this stuff on, because Tumblr is the only one I've thought of publishing so far. I don't know yet.

What to expect from the comic

- The theme will be a little dark. (I mean it's in a Devil May Cry Universe... but, you know...) But I don't mean as in blood and demons and stuff (of course we will have that lol) but more of an angst kind of thing? If that's the right word? You'll see what I mean when I talk about the sections/parts of this little comic

-This background comic will come in 3 parts (like seasons in an anime LOL. Yes, when I say background, I mean BACKGROUND. But don't worry, I won't drag it. Trust.) The first part will show how the humans that Ezra is surrounded with use the game's orbs. Orbs of all colors of the damn rainbow, baby! It will have mentions of a certain protagonist that all of us have heard or read the name before and mention a certain antagonist that we may have fought against... then the second part, more mentions of certain antagonists that we know. The last part/part 3, the appearance of certain protagonists and antagonists. Of course, all parts will have enemies/demons and flashy moments because what would be about Devil May Cry without their demons and they stylish thangs!? Lol

-The present/after part 3 will be when Ezra officially interacts with Dante's crew and joins the crew. (Right before DMC 5 events)

-I don't want to mess around with the canon story too much, but I have been reading things that majority of players wished were added into the game or hope to add in the next game. For example: more lore, certain character-developments. Interactions between specific characters, return of other characters from past games/manga. But I know if I'm going to do this, then I'm going to have to do it right. Which is why im glad that I still have until July to plan this whole thing out. I know this fan/oc comic is not official/canon, but I still want to make it enjoyable and execute it right so readers can enjoy it. I might have to read the mangas again and replay the games so I can have a better grasp of what should be added into this mini comic.

-I do have to mention that I do in fact ship my boy Ezra with a certain canon character of the game. Try to guess who it is! Hey- you're technically cheating if you look at my profile picture... cheater!

Although you guys have been okay/open/welcoming about my ship in my last post so far- or well, nobody has said something against it (which is why im starting to love this app, I love you guys), I know certain users can have different opinions when shipping an OC with a canon character. That's why I'll be adding the -more- bar so users who are not interested don't have to bleach their eyes after witnessing my drawings of Ezra-and if you havent guessed it yet- Vergil being hella gay (jk I'm too shy to draw romantic stuff like kissing and all that jazz- i giggle, and such a sucker for romance JKJK ugh end me pls), but for real, they can just scroll by without a glimpse of this kind of trope(? Is that what you'd call it?)

synopsis: he’s the charming genius, meanwhile he’s famously known as the troublemaker. how could they even intersect and be close to each other?

note: junhyeon and taerae are the same age in this universe <3 and sorry for the grammar mistakes, english isn’t my first language :(

content warnings: fluff, bxb, junhyeon x taerae, ooc, just highschoolers being silly

“Kum Junhyeon, famously known as the school’s troublemaker. He’s been called to the school counselor a few times- I mean COUNTLESS times. from messing up his grades to making graffiti in the school gym.. why do you need to know about him anyway?” Park Hanbin asked as he closed the new senior locker.

“Nothing.” Taerae shrugged calmly.

“Wait, don’t tell me that you’re interested in him?”

Taerae nervously spoke and answered “To be honest, I don’t know. My heart skips a beat whenever I see him. He’s just- unique.”

“If you say so then, but it’s definitely a crushhhh” Hanbin chuckled and teased him.

He’s just really unique to him. The way he smiles everything off, his brown colored hair, The way he hums to nirvana on the way to class, and eventually falls asleep during them.

Meanwhile Kim Taerae, he’s the star student. He does everything perfectly, from his grades to his handsome charm. No wonder tons of girls- even guys are head over heels for him.

Now, it’s currently the first day of senior year. That means tons of exams and events.. it’ll be very much tiring for the students.

Everyone starts to check on the school board to see the class arrangements. Taerae looked closely to find his name. Good for him, he’s still in the same class as Junhyeon. This time, he wants to make the first move on him.

The bell suddenly rang, and everyone rushed into their classes. The distance was far, so he ran to the class.

After 2 minutes, he arrived at the new class. It was rather the same design as the previous one, with the same marbled floors and grey walls.

And there he is, Kum Junhyeon. He’s sitting lazily with his legs on the table while reading a manga.

Taerae caught a glimpse of him. “He’s so handsome.. wait why am I even attracted to him??” He mumbled. Then he sits in his designated chair, not far from Junhyeon.

The class starts, and Taerae writes down some notes for the class so he can study them later. The opposite of him, Junhyeon is barely paying attention to the whiteboard while chewing some gum.

“Are you paying attention Junhyeon?” The teacher spoke in a rather irritated to a serious tone.

Then, Junhyeon answered lazily while waking up from his slumber “Yes- yes I am miss!!”

“If you say so. Let’s continue with the class, everyone.” The teacher scoffs.

A few hours later, the bell rang. That means the students will have a break. A lot of students are running to the cafeteria and some of them are sitting in class while playing with their phones, or studying. Both Junhyeon and Taerae decided to just stay in the classroom.

Suddenly, a girl peeks into the classroom and said “Kum Junhyeon! Kim Taerae! You both are called to the counseling room!”

“Huh? That’s just.. weird. I’ve never been called to the counseling room before. I didn’t get into any trouble did I?” Taerae spoke confusedly and scared.

For Junhyeon, It was just like a daily routine. He doesn’t care anyway, neither does his parents.

Then, they arrived at the counseling room. Taerae seemed nervous meanwhile Junhyeon is relaxed with his hands on the back of his hand.

“Sit here. Both of you.” The counselor said.

Taerae and Junhyeon sat next to each other. Sitting across from the counselor.

The counselor starts to say the news and said “Look, the school has come to an agreement, and it’s best for taerae to tutor junhyeon. He has so much potential but he’s just too lazy for that. I hope you can somehow push and motivate him to be better in his studies, especially it’s currently senior year for you both.

what are your thoughts on the current status of the bsd manga? any ideas on how it'll progress from here, what you like or dislike?

Absolutely none!

No really, at the moment I'm too consumed by One Piece nostalgia (and now Blue Lock) screaming at me to be overly concerned about BSD, BSD has always been more of a casual investment I enjoy for its own and fanart but never actively desire to seek out more. Besides the novels, I like books.

I'm really more of the Bungou aspect of Bungou Stray Dogs as a literature fan * and so my interest has always been a more subtle interest in observing what Asagiri has to say about the human nature and condition than giving absolute judgements on anything.

* Despite interest, have not finished reading a lot of works. Tbf Japanese Literature has a fairly passive tone that I get fed up with for my poor attention span. Others... Yeah aside from CAP being a literal punishment to read I don't have excuses besides I have work + uni and I am lazy.

What I can say is the current manga focus is a lot more on well the two primary black-white duos against each other + Fyodor, Aya and Bram and Fukuchi playing God or whatever. All these exchanges showcase how much would they put out to reach each other and watch how things click into place, the last touches to the final stage curtains.

I don't have as much anticipation on finding out how things end but I would say it's a risky move for Studio Bones to release BSD this early when the manga hasn't finished so it means the anime would adapt the season finale first before the manga.

Asagiri is supervising so I don't doubt it would be okay but I am mildly concerned as to how enjoyable it is to immerse and believe in the narrative. I'll bet he'll pull it off anyways but I hope it's something that wraps the story up well and not leave more questions than not. Admittedly I find Fukuchi off putting power scale wise when he appeared seemingly nowhere with 1. a fairly deep connection to Fukuzawa and the ADA, 2. he's this all powerful might hero that everyone looks to but no mention of him until hunting dogs arrival and 3. we find out he just decided this cause of action and is our twist villain suddenly. What?

So... That was a thing.

I don't know if I liked it or not but I guess quite a bit of stuff resolved.

I still don't like Fukuchi. No matter how beautiful your whole reason to save the world was, that's just bullshit to drag the entire world into your shitty plan and then dump it all your ex sweetheart pick up the pieces and be the "good guy" you wanted him to be by sacrificing yourself.

Teruko deserves so much better, she wasn't even able to be happy finishing what she needed to do. Damn.

Anyways moving on, rest of the gays are... Gay (happy).

Aya is safe and alive, Bram is now her guardian Knight accompanying the hero of justice! Though her looking up to her father is bittersweet. Also knowing irl Ms Aya Kodo's whole strained relationship with father and living under his shadow but still desiring his affections is man, twisted.

Kenji and Tecchou is okay whoo!! So is Kyouka and Lucy

Where Jouno. What the hell Jouno. Is he okay?? Whyy???

Where the hell is Yosano, Kouyou and Mori (and Higuchi) too I don't know if Mori's disappearance is something I like, I'm scared what-

I hope Manga can explain that. I'm weary of being wary of Asagiri but dammit Asagiri whyyy

but i will say... i deserve it. to preface my list, i am a fake fan. and i mean in that in a very general sense. i own a yu yu hakusho shirt and i've never watched yyh--not even the "i caught random episodes on adult swim, out of order and never finished it" type way. i haven't listened to anyone's full discography outside of one direction (and even tehn i haven't listened to 70% of their solo works). i didn't really believe in listening to full album until like... 3 years ago? i go to concerts for artists where i only know like... 5 songs.

you know how obsessed i am with naruto? i never finished shippuuden. i read the manga obsessively up to whatever chapter sakura fake confessed in, dropped it, binge read the rest the week before th amanga ended, and never revisited the entire second half of the series. ever. outside of the last sasunaru fight.

i am a VERY VERY fake fan for most things. sometimes it's because i don't think i need to enjoy everything from a project/artist/franchise to call myself a fan, so i never revisit parts i didn't enjoy, and sometimes it's because i am too lazy o reven too scaraed to explore parts i haven't come across organically. i have been stung by many an album.

so now you understand... i am a buck tick fake fan.

hmm, for my mobile theme, i really just looked at a bunch of different blogs and their mobile theme ? and i took note of what most commonly was put in plain view for someone to see upon visiting; name, age, pronouns, masterlist, i've seen a lot of "about" pages, "before you follow" warning pages, the "minors, do not interact" if you're going to have nsfw content on your page - all those things ! and i am also very lazy when it comes to making things pretty LOL so i took mostly the ones i figured were basic and important to me.

and then i picked a color ! it was originally just white and black bc that was easiest, but i really liked this green 😌😌 i honestly want to change it but the effort it would take, i do not possess in this moment LMAO i actually have a secret project/blog that's much prettier than this one and i'm trying to just be happy with that lmao

as for my desktop theme, it's from here, but i changed the colors to match my green 🌿🌿🌿 and i really like my desktop theme and it has some really cool features i don't use LOL and i wish i saw it more, but yeah !! that's about all i know what to say !

oh - ! one more thing. for the header and icon and any other manga-ish thing: i use photoshop to change it to green and i think i use either lighten or screen ? i can't remember which one. one of them makes the picture green but kind of fuzzy and another clears everything up really well, i want to say it's screen but - bah, idk ! but you make the first layer your original panel and create another layer on top of that and turn it your color, and then change that layer to either lighten or screen - and it makes all the black lines your color. easy ! and i literally just took a very tiny print screen of the green on mobile view to use as a divider LOL

Blink-Malcom Gladwell: 0.5 stars. What a load of shit. Love to read about someone completely unqualified make random connections between different studies he clearly does not understand. Do not waste your time reading this.

Wolf by Wolf-Ryan Graudin: *Reread* 5 stars. If you haven’t read this series yet and you love/can handle heavy topics in literature do yourself a favor and pick it up.

View With a Grain of Sand: Selected Poems- Wistawa Szymborska: 3 stars I don’t read poetry very often but a few in this collection were phenomenal. There was one about school girls becoming monsters, I believe, and I remember it really struck me.

The Only Woman in the Room-Marie Benedict: 2 stars I don’t know how to describe it really but if you look at the authors picture she writes EXACTLY the way you would think she would. Absolutely no nuance. It’s a compelling narrative but someone else would have written it better.

Untamed-Glennon Doyle: 3 stars I really liked the part where she said ‘I don’t remember things. I write them.’ Because there were multiple times reading this that I went ‘oh fuck off your child did NOT say that’

Blood for Blood-Ryan Graudin: *reread* 5 stars See review for Wolf by Wolf

Courage to soar: A body in motion, a life in balance-Simone Biles: 3 stars Simone should have hired a better ghost writer. Also, holy crap her family is rich. I struggle with Amy ‘underdog’ narrative where literally all troubles are completely resolved before the person is in double digits. Not to knock on Simone’s childhood by any means, but I simply would not call it an underdog story.

Hench-Natalie Zina Walschots: *reread* 5 stars Everything I want from a superhero novel and more. God it’s so good. We love to see a woman succeed. I am SO excited that a sequel was announced you have no idea. One of these days I want to take this, How to Date a Superhero and Not Die Trying and Dr Horrible and write an essay about superhero’s and what they do to people but I will probably never get around to it.

Lost in the Moment and Founs-Seanan McGuire: 5 stars The Wayward Children series is so good man, it’s so good. Grief and loss and moving on and acceptance and living with what has happened to you and surviving and all handled so so brilliantly.

The Nightingale-Kristin Hannah: 5 stars I took my time getting to this one but I’m glad I did. It is as heavy and sad as people say but it is very very good. Much like Wolf by Wolf (and for the same reasons) this book is not for everyone but if you can handle the material I do recommend it.

Crying in H Mart-Michelle Zauner: 4 stars A very honest narrative of grief and loss. If you’ve lost a loved one recently I recommend this for some good ole cathartic crying.

To Kill a Mockinbird-Harper Lee: *reread* 5 stars It’s a classic for a reason, what more can I say? When I read this in high school I hadn’t yet had to live in Missippi though so it was really interesting to revisit it with that knowledge. I also deeply enjoyed the book club Gi, Mike and I formed for this book haha.

The Woman at the Front-Lecia Cornwall: 2.5 stars This was the authors first non romance book and you could tell. Why was it necessary for all the men to fall into love with the protagonist???? On the war front????? Who has time for that!

Me Malcom’s List-Suzanne Allain: 3 stars This was a really funny read. If you want to just kick back and read a Regency romp this is a perfect book for it. Nothing deep, no smut, just a fun time.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight vol 4- Riku Misora: 3 stars Every day I wake up and wish Alice was in a better series. It’s not BAD it’s just very average.

Even Though I Knew the End- C.L. Polk: 4 stars I really would have enjoyed this as a novella series or a full length novel. Who doesn’t love crime solving historical lesbians??

Teen Titans: Robin-Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo- 3 stars The fact that they had Dick and Damian have an age gap of only like 3 years was so jarring to me haha. The pacing in this one wasn’t the best that the series has had either but I’m excited for the next installment, they’re pretty fun for what they are.

Mysteries of Thorn Manor-Margaret Rogerson: 3 stars This was so fun, I love these guys so much and I was DELIGHTED that we’d get more in their world. If it was a little longer I’m sure it would have wheedled 4 stars out of me. Elisabeth stomping around in the full body armor all day had me laughing out loud. I should reread Sorcery of Thorns.

Miss Latimore’s Letter-Suzanne Allain: 3.5 stars This one thought a little bit more about what it wanted to say which lead to a bit of a deeper story but also a slower pace. Still fun but less gut busting than Allain’s first novel.

The Poet X-Elizabeth Acevedo: 4 stars The main characters struggle with her relationship with her mother was one I relate to very much. The struggle to exist in the body of a woman and to suddenly be responsible for other people’s reactions to it?? Yeah that hit close to home too.

The Shadow Wand-Laurie Forest: *reread* 4 stars Listen I am Lukas Grays biggest fan but I can also admit that this one struggled with pacing a little bit. Like it’s still phenomenal but I’m also HONEST.

An Enchantment of Ravens- Margaret Rogerson: 3 stars There were significantly less ravens than I expected. Sorcery of Thorns is undeniably the better book.

The Demon Tide-Laurie Forest: *reread* 4 stars It’s at this point in the series where you lament the fact that Forest wasn’t able to publish the side novellas she wanted to. This is somehow a 700 page Valentine’s Day novella and then about 100 pages of extreme action at the end. You might say to yourself, Cheese your not selling this very well. I do not need to. The first book will sell it all for me.

Raybearer-Jordan Ifueko: *reread* 4 stars The world building of this is so brilliant.

The Ones We Burn-Rebecca Mix: 3 stars First of all the fact that Mix managed to finish and publish this after a TBI deserves to be commended. HEAVILY inspired by ATLA haha. As for the accusations that this book is a reverse racism fantasy…. 1.) the ‘oppressors’ we’re children who were actively working to change the corrupt system they’d inherited 2.) it is stated multiple times that the ‘oppressed’ were very diverse. Yeah the main character was white but not all of the witches were. But everyone is allowed to come to their own conclusions. All in all I think it had some good things to say but suffered from repetition and first-publication sloppiness. I’d be interested to see what else Mix puts out.

Unbreakable-Mira Grant: 5 stars Seanan McGuire does magical girls? There was never a possibility this wouldn’t get 5 stars from me. Would love more entires in this world. A prequel???? Please???

Slaughter House Five-Kurt Vonnegut: 4 stars It’s a classic. So it goes.

Redemptor-Jordan Ifueko: 3 stars No one was more devastated that this book fell victim to second-published-Book-syndrome than me. I do hope Ifueko continues to write novels but this one was a let down.

House of Many Ways-Diana Wynne Jones: 3 stars Definitely the weakest in the trilogy. I loved seeing Howl and Sophie again and am forever grieved that this is all we’ll ever have of them.

Bitter Medicine-Mia Tsai: 4 stars All in all a brilliant debut. I really enjoyed how mature the characters were, misunderstandings were clarified as soon as they were discovered, they both let the other explain themselves even when they were emotional. This is how you write adult romance YALL. Can’t wait for Tsai’s next publication.

Blade of Secrets-Tricia Levenseller: 3 stars Levenseller books are so easy to read. Just quick and simple light reading. I’ll have to pick up the sequel at some point.

The Secret Service of Tea and Treason-India Holton: 4 stars I don’t remember if the characters are explicitly stated to be autistic or if they’re just canonically neurodivergent with a general hand wavy diagnoses but it was nice to see some representation in romance all the same. This trilogy is so funny, but I think this one is probably the weakest link.

To Have and to Hoax-Martha Waters: 2 stars Take a shot every time James says some variation of ‘he WAS a man after all’ and you’ll die of alcohol poisoning. Why did Violet get pardoned of all guilt while James was treated as having been completely in the wrong the entire time???? There’s one VERY shoehorned conversation amongst the supporting cast that was clearly included just to set up the next book in the series and it was very jarring. That being said the writing itself is good.

Anime moments:

After the first Sakuya-centric arc is over in the anime Sakuya replaces Kuro in the anime ending for one episode and it shows him smiling at Mahiru 💚 like this wasn't at all necessary to do... But the anime team did it anyways and I feel like it for a good reason. It really shows that even they can't always be together now Sakuya means just as much to Mahiru as Kuro does :') like Mahiru does have other bonds with characters, but they REALLY made it a point here. Sakuya is what made Mahiru take getting stronger way more serious and want to find a good way to put an end to Tsubaki's plans. Not only for the other Servamps and Eves, but for his best friend too.

Also I'm convinced the anime team low key ships them the most now after seeing them here on the blu-ray/dvd box and all the other extra anime style content they gave us lol (I'm joking but also...??👀)

This scene is completely anime only(the entire ending of the anime was completely made up anyways) but I think this really shows Sakuya would protect Mahiru if he saw Mahiru in immediate danger. We haven't seen anything like this in the manga version yet, but I believe something very similar might happen if given the chance. For example, Mahiru never did the key ability before in the manga like he did here in the anime at first. Eventually years later he did it in the manga, but it happened a bit differently. GOD LET SAKUMAHI REUNITE IN THE MANGA ALREADY.

In fact the anime did cut out a scene from volume 4 where Sakuya protects Sloth Pair from Belkia. Although they didn't know it was Sakuya who did it. They thought Belkia just disappeared out of nowhere.

Or "Secret Door challenge" and the Servamp voice actors played a little game where they were basically kind of role-playing as their respective characters and had to find their partners behind a door guessing by the sound of their voice. (basically Mahiru had to find Kuro, Licht had to find Hyde and so on) The catch was that their voices were pitched to make it more difficult for them.

but Mahiru(Terushima) didn't guess correctly and instead of finding Kuro(Yuki) behind the door.... He found Sakuya(Yuto) and well,, 👀

Host: "Please open the door!"

Terushima(Mahiru): "It was you guys! It's Sakuya!!"

Suzuki(Sakuya): "MAHIRU~!!!"

A non-OP fan’s (slashy/romantic)take on Buggy and Shanks’ relationship

Disclaimer: I’m not a One Piece fan by any stretch so I don’t follow the manga or anime but I’ve seen clips of it here and there on the internet, and got intrigued by the one and only Buggy and his relationship with Shanks. I’ve been thinking a lot about them recently and reading a lot of fics/reddit theories so here’s my take. I’ll most definitely miss stuff so actual fans please jump in and correct me/add things!

Warning: My interpretation is that there is some romantic undertones to their relationship. If you don’t agree with this please don’t read! Thanks :D

1. Shanks and Buggy grew up together on the same ship. Some have suggested that they were only 1 when they were picked up by Roger’s crew, although the youngest we’ve seen them tgt was when they were 9 years old. Regardless, they probably didn’t have much of a chance to form long lasting friendships with other children outside the ship, so their peer group consisted only of each other, and that’s crazy. 

2. I feel like these circumstances would’ve led to a form of closeness that supersedes modern friendship. Some have described their bond as a brotherhood, and many have stated that they love each other.

3. However, I feel like brotherly love doesn’t fully explain their dynamic(in the anime version of their Marineford reunion). While it explains why Shanks took care of Buggy when on the Oro Jackson despite their squabbles, why he invited Buggy to go with him after Roger’s execution, and why he seemed quite happy to see Buggy at Marineford aged 39, it doesn’t quite explain why his first instinct there was to make a fool of Buggy, only to brush it off as a whim afterwards. And it most certainly doesn’t explain the most SUS thing about that interaction, which was Shanks’ facial expression and tone of voice. There’s just something very sus about that in particular because it doesn’t feel brotherly, but more like flirtatious teasing??? which Buggy is totally confused by btw.

4. I watched the Japanese version of their reunion. During most of it one of Shanks’ eyebrows was slightly raised in a sort of mischievous way, and just before he walks off he says ‘I know, so don’t be angry.’ in a tone that’s borderline flirtatious???? Does Shanks know that he can placate Buggy with flirtatious teasing?? In that case I wouldn’t call this brotherly love anymore. Does that mean he’s done that in the past and it’s worked???????

5. Perhaps these are artistic liberties that the animators and voice actors have taken, but I assume this is also approved by Oda? Maybe this is a trap for yaoi fangirls and I’ve fallen into it lmao I am not sure how this works - someone more well versed in the mechanics of this please chip in :D In any case, we’ll see where this takes us:

6. There’s 2 things to address here: the trickery, and the borderline playful flirting that happened towards the end. Firstly, the trickery: there’s a power dynamic here and Shanks is the one on top. He’s thinking about how to stop the war, Luffy, and probably other bigger things. When he sees Buggy he probably felt a lot of things then but because of the circumstance, he decides to use him as a way to get something done. 

7. It was a funny interaction, and I’m going to over-analyse it. When Buggy refused to help Shanks with the strawhat, it’s interesting that the latter decided to trick him with the false promise of a treasure map, rather than to just say sth along the lines of ‘why not help for old times’ sake’ etc. Perhaps he thinks that Buggy would be too prideful to be swayed by those types of arguments. But perhaps this is where Shanks miscalculated, and why Buggy was so offended lol just a while ago Buggy had helped Luffy because he had been touched by his innocence and resemblance to young Shanks, and here Shanks is basically saying that even after all these years he still thinks Buggy is below matters of the heart. 

8. Shanks probably also thinks he can trick Buggy into doing things for him without incurring any real consequence. It’s almost like the ‘I’m just going to say this first and then deal with his reaction later’ type mentality. Let’s face it, what can Buggy do? Fighting is out of the question: the disparity in their power levels seems too large for this to be a concern for Shanks, and Buggy is highly averse to fighting battles that he knows he can’t win. Cutting ties? Well, that’s been done: Buggy rejected Shanks’ offer to join his crew years ago, and they haven’t really met since, so the worst has already happened. Shanks has had years to get over that.

9. Perhaps over time Shanks has become more focused than his easy smiles let on. Ironically, Buggy was the one to criticise Shanks for being soft hearted when they were younger, but ultimately it is Buggy who tears up at the sight of Luffy’s innocence and decides to fight alongside him in Impel Down, and it is him that calls out Shanks’ name in the middle of the battlefield, seemingly without a care for their surroundings or consequences, just to be taken advantage of by the other.

10. Some may say I’m making Shanks sound a bit evil, and that perhaps all of this happened subconsciously. Maybe the sentiment behind tricking Buggy is half a funny way to greet his old comrade, and half a sign that he still remembers a lot about him and on top of that trusts him with his hat.

11. While I agree with the fact that Shanks basically does not have any true malice towards Buggy, I can’t ignore the power dynamic between them. The trickery was funny only to Shanks, not to Buggy, but I think this dynamic fits perfectly with Shanks’ role as the Emperor and Buggy’s as the Clown.  

12. Alas, Emperors maintain an indestructible reputation, and Clowns make themselves look bad for laughs. So mb Buggy is just fulfilling that role for Shanks in the story. After all, Shanks is portrayed as a flawless man: he is selfless, ambitious, righteous, protects the weak, stops wars and has never lost a battle in his life. On the other hand, Buggy is portrayed in the complete opposite manner: he is self-serving, duplicitous, scummy, money-loving and lazy. 

13. It’s kind of sad that Buggy was basically born into(afaik his nose is natural) this role though and is forced to make the most out of it.

14. Secondly, the playful flirtatiousness(I keep using this word because I feel like that’s the vibe he gave off at the end of one of the clips I saw lmao): Shanks is not really treating Buggy as an adult in his own right, but acts as if Buggy is a child(or capricious lover??) that has to be coaxed into doing the right thing. That’s also borderline disrespectful, but it could just be a matter of them having been apart for such a long time that Shanks automatically defaulted to their old, childish ways because he hadn’t really had the chance to get to know Buggy as an adult.

15. But then this begs the question of what exactly is the nature of their relationship? Brotherly love doesn’t fit with the flirting, so perhaps it’s a different kind of love? Some possible reasons for why Shanks would ever be flirtatious could be 1. there’s some romantic elements to their relationship in the past that he’s taking advantage of now e.g. maybe Buggy was attracted to him and he is taking advantage of it? or 2. it’s a new thing he’s trying because he thinks it’s funny and Buggy would be too confused to keep retorting so it’s a fun way to end the conversation and at the same time to plant a seed in the clown that might make him follow Shanks later? (Buggy did immediately think about doing that lololol) Is this Shanks’ way of getting Buggy to come back to him lmao without explicitly asking loooool 

16. Judging by Buggy’s reaction it seems like number 2 is more likely but this is all anime-only afaik

17. All in all, I feel like Buggy is a special person to Shanks and vice versa, and even though Buggy is just one element of a much bigger picture for Shanks (whereas for Buggy, Shanks seems to have a much bigger presence in his mind), the fact that they spent their childhood only having each other as peers enabled them to form a deep mutual trust and closeness that didn’t seem to have dampened after twenty odd years of separation.

Ok, so I liked the 3 from MXTX:

 - Grandmaster of Diabolic Cultivation/ Mo Dao Zu Shi 

This one I loved but it has a particular style that ppl might not like in that it feels jumpy, confusing and with information gaps while reading, even though eventually everything that matters does end up being explained...in other works this would probably be just lazy writing, but here it is clearly an intentional choice bc 1) she doesn’t do this in her other novels 2) this is in WWX’s pov and dude has heavy ptsd and adhd, plus he tends to pretend to take everything lightly as a coping mechanisms...all this put together and it’s easy to understand why the story has such an unreliable narrator that even the other characters constantly point it out. I ended up loving this extra layer of storytelling.

 - Heaven Official’s Blessings/ Tian Guan Ci Fu

If you’re in the mood for a saga type long ass novel with a ton of interesting side stories and side characters with a main character who is a true cinnamon bun in sweet romance with a side dish of sweet sweet aaaangst.

Steampunk China plus creepy voodoo tribal ritual magic, involved in internal and external wars over petrol (with a different name) and with our leads in Iron Man suits, fighting, among other enemies hot young(er) hands on, on the field, western troop General, the Pope, that I can only visualize in my head as Jude Law. I tell you all of this nonsense just to say that instead of the ridiculous fun this should be, it ends up being a very compelling romance with lots of scheming and heavy plot and some heartbreaking scenes.

This is a court drama type novel with friends-to-rivals-to-lovers that is just the right length and compelling with not too many plot twists but two main characters who are really great both individually and together and this is the one out of all in the list I feel like re reading the most. It really is a solid read and I feel like I’m selling it short, bc it really is good. It is similar to Sha Po Lang and To Rule in a Turbulent World, a simpler version of those but not worse for it.

(Since you said top 5 and I’ve said 6, I regretfully cut down Heaven Official’s Blessing bc even though I love it, unlike MDZS or SVSSS, it didn’t feel like a standalone novel because some of the several storylines of the side characters that I loved were left open ended (although the main characters had a complete story arc), as if this book was supposed to be the first of a series and those characters would have their own spinoff books where I’d know where their story took them...except this really is a standalone, and so the lack of resolution bothers me).

- To Rule in a Turbulent World

This one doesn’t go in the top 5 list yet bc it’s not fully translated, last time I checked (tho it’s very near the end). As an ongoing novel, I adore it. If the ending isn’t terrible it might be in my top 3. It’s similar to the two above in plotlines but it has a quality to it that it takes care to make every character in it multidimensional. There are no good and bad characters, even the ones on the opposite side are given something that makes them relatable and human. Plus, the characters all change throughout the novel, most of all the protagonists and the novel gives itself breathing time between events where you just chill with the characters and learn about random things like agricultural practices. 

- The Wife Is First

This one is just that light fluff feel good one that is great to pick up from time to time since it’s on going. Dumb Jock husband did everything wrong in his first life, gets a re-do and from then on it’s adorable respect the spouse juice and awe of said spouse smarts. Cute. Also, there’s a baby pet tiger.

Qi Ye is similar to To Rule in A Turbulent World/The Golden Stage/Sha Po Lang. I really liked it still, just a tiny bit less than these. Since it’s the same author as SPL and I think it was written earlier, I have to say, the writing only got better.

Faraway Wanderers is a short read, but you’re only gonna like it if you’re ok with amoral main characters (I guess that is true for many on this list but it’s more obvious in this one bc the novel and the characters are unapologetic about it).

- YuWu by Meatbun - Still reading it, but is isn’t grabbing me like 2ha did.

 - Silent Readings by Priest:

I love crime fiction novels (love Ding Mo’s novels) and this is that type of conspiracy, murder novel with smart criminals and smart investigators. Little romance, but still there.

 - Guardian by Priest: 

Priest is hilarious and except the last part that gets a bit heavy on the lore this is just a joy to read. Also pretty short.

- Advance Bravely:

I read it a long time ago and it’s okayish, with some cute and some weird, problematic characters. 

- Addicted/ Heroin:

Also read it (this is 2 books) ages ago...and this one is NOT cute. It starts out as a pretty normal, but kind of toxic very typical oldschool drama/manga romance right down to the step brothers’ trope....and then it keeps escalating to new levels of WTF am I reading?!! All I have to say for this one is, that while I cannot recommend it per se, nor say it’s good, the title really is fitting, bc it is addictive as f.

considering i draw fugo so much and have so many little hcs about his appearance i went ahead and drew a baby ref for him ft. his anime colors that i will most likely Never Use but theyre there in case. I somehow do my ramblings about his appearance are underneath the thingy ^_^;

Firstly to start off I kept his skin the same cause... yeah... it's redder to fit in w/ his manga colors cause that's what I prefer (even if I am anime-only atm for p5) but anyways not the point.

With his skin, there are a few things I did. First, I gave him subtle freckles and dark circles underneath his eyes, darkening/making them bigger post PHF cause you know he does Not Sleep Well after GW, though I don't think he honestly did even before. Freckles are just bc I felt like it cause I think they're cute. Scar wise, there's not too much as a majority of the scars on him with the exception of a few will be randomized essentially. One of the nonrandomized ones is obviously his face scar after PHF due to him biting the capsule. I personally like to think when he did this, he had it in the left side of his mouth so there are more scars on that side (also helps balance out his hair but that's another thing) It flakes out a bit and continues on his cheeks but's that really it. There is a rounded scar right around his jaw (it's on both sides) where Giorno had to do some... ah, let's say "reattachment" for Fugo afterward. The scarring continues down his neck where the virus started to eat at his throat and such and it's on both sides as well. Finally, there's the scar on his lower right abdomen. That's from the knife that got he stabbed with during Angelina's attack and just... essentially kept there. All the other scars are Pre PHF, the scars post-PHF he intentionally kept (for what reason I'm not entirely sure but my go-to is usually to remind him of what he went through and to sort of ground him) Onto his hair, I gave him two different styles; Pre PHF and Post PHF. Pre PHF follows his more canon hairstyle, dividing into 3 parts. I don't like how they look stiff so I made them look much softer (though I sorta do that to everyone like Abbacchio for example) in both versions. Pre PHF is just... yeah sorta that there isn't much to explain honestly. Post PHF though his hair is more grown out and longer- instead of reaching just above his shoulders it now reaches just below them. His bangs are now also side-swept to fit more of the PHF style and because I saw this wonderful Fugo fanart and got obsessed with it and it actually gave me a good way to stylize Fugo's hair to make him easier to draw for me at the time. Colors are colors, though I did just sorta free hand the anime colors cause I was lazy so his hair is a pit too pale and his suit is the wrong color but I honestly don't really mind; i sorta like the paler hair anyways LOL might work around that and fit the suit to match it better so we'll see... Everything else is just sorta basic stuff so I'll leave it at that !! I plan to do everyone in the bucci gang at some point, Fugo just happened to be the first cause I draw him so much and wanted an easy ref for myself lol. If you read all this uhmmm thank chew!!!
