I only found your comic in July and I didn’t become an active tumblr user/follower till September, but I’m so glad I got to watch this project come to a close. The ROTTMNT fandom wouldn’t be the same without you and your comic. You’ve inspired so many people, including me, and I just want to say thank you, Cass. Thank you for making my year a little bit brighter. Thank you for reigniting my love of art. Thank you for creating. Thank you for existing.

You’re no longer just some random dude lmao. You’re the creature who fixed the apocalypse, the creature who brought together thousands of people and built a family. A family of turtles and fans.

In honor of C.A.S I wanted to color and animate the final panel of the comic. Im still learning color theory and digital art but you’ve inspired me to improve, and what better way to start than with the end? It was a beautiful ending, so perfectly paced and full of a peaceful hope twinged with a bittersweet sadness. Your comic might be done, but this turtle family will live on forever.

I’m thinking about Hatchet Field and cycles, especially in NPMD because holy shit there’s so much of it. Like

Every time we see Hatchet Field the world ends. And then we see it end all over again- it all restarts

Nobody ever dies in Waylon house

When Max dies the school is allowed to move on, to “evolve”- but then he comes back. Things return to how they once were

“People go missing in Hatchet Field every day”

The lyrical motif of “I’m not a loser” is not just an assertion of worth, it’s a claim to safety and power. Peter doesn’t dress like that because he’s a nerd, he dresses like that to avoid attention, to not be a loser.

When Max is destroyed, Grace replaces him.

Suddenly Grace is singing about how the ‘nerds’ will rise up and kill. The threat shifts but is never gone

“I’m not a loser” is absolution, it says “I am not worthy of death” in a very literal sense. Character beg for their lives with it. The final song, where Grace becomes the new apocalypse? The background is still “I’m not a loser”. Because it was never about nerds versus jocks. It was always about escaping death.

The same two people flirt at a coffee shop, the same cops run the same dirty beat, the same rich fucks call the same lawyer, over and over and over

I started this so long ago, but I'm finally able to finish it, curse you classes that don't give me enough time to draw JSGDKHD

I remember reading this part for the first time and absolutely loving it 💥 so I wanted to draw this scene from @somerandomdudelmao series, go check it out if u haven't yet

love how Solar Opposites started out as a sitcom about two aliens who can't stand each other, stuck with their teenage clones (whom they also can't stand) & a toddler antichrist (whom they view as a sort of self-sufficient free-roaming hamster?) on a stupid planet they can't stand

and 4 seasons later it's a sitcom about a family of genderqueer aliens, headed by a gay couple in a happy & horny open marriage (with a graphic off-screen sex life, despite their canonical lack of genitalia?) teaching themselves to be okay parents to their 3 kids (whose Sci-Fi Antics now slightly-less-frequently revolve around wreaking havoc on human bystanders, and slightly-more-frequently revolve around alien-clone-sibling-bonding*), to the point that the central plot point becomes "We need to provide our toddler antichrist with a stable home environment."

(also the grumpy alien husband is too busy ingratiating his family with their suburban neighbors to even remember whom or what he dislikes. what is this show)

I'm finally FINALLY able to do something for Cass' apocalyptic series!! Been loving the comic since it started. If you haven't red it yet give it a go! It's so so worth it, esp if you are an angsts lover like me

@somerandomdudelmao *inhale-exhale* I so much wanted to make something with this song and your story, there were some attempts before (with Casey) but I'm so happy that in the ends this song represents the whole episode "And the two they left behind" *giggle* Now I have a full complect...
