20. There are more Celadon holders than any other entity core passed down. Crimson having the least amount.
QUICK RUN DOWN.. Celadon abilities are primarily focused on healing and "AID" making them highly valued for their healing capabilities. Crimson abilities on the other hand revolve around "SENSE" which provides enhanced perception, an unidentified powerful core that is not fully understood. After the Entity War, some entities continued to pass on their core abilities. The Celadon entity, known for its generosity, allowed its abilities to spread to millions of holders, whether they are aware of it or not. Meanwhile, the Crimson entity, which has mostly vanished since the War, has only passed down its abilities in rare cases over the centuries, leaving fewer than 10,000 holders.
21. The entity core is an undetectable and invisible layer around the heart.
When someone becomes or is born as a holder of an entity, the “core” manifests as a protective layer around their heart. While the core is crucial to the entity itself, serving as its “heart”, but for the holder, it exists as almost an aura that cannot be detected by any kind of scanning or technology.
23. Donis and Reign have always given off that “Which could mean nothing”
Gayest friends I know. It's just like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with the "Which could mean nothing" all over again. They already work closely and spend a lot of time together outside of work. The number of times they have been seen together in public led to many many scandals.
25. Arline had to steal her dog back from her parents after getting her own place.
Arline got a Newfoundland puppy as a birthday gift from her grandparents during the time she was still living with roommates. At the time, she was struggling to care of the pup and hide it in such a small house, especially since there was a strict no-pet rule. So, she decided to let her parents take care of the dog until she got her own place, which she thought wouldn’t be too far off. After moving into her new place, closer to her neeeew job, Arline was just too busy to visit back home as often. But when she finally did ask her parents to return her dog, they refused. It wasn’t out of spite or anything- they had grown to love the dog, and it reminded them of Arline now that she had moved out. Arline was still very determined to get her dog back. SO.. In the dead of night, without her parents knowing, she sneaked in and took her dog back home. The dogs name is Gilby and she is so big and fluffy !&*(!&*

i need the seasons to change in riptide so gillion can witness snow. and not magic snow, because i know someone will be like oh he made an arena of literal ice i think he knows what snow is. i mean snow that falls from the sky and lands in his hair and he stares up at it with that tidestrider adorable curiosity. and then the crew make snowmen and have a snowball fight and queen knits everyone scarves and jay's nose is constantly red and chip comments that it's not that cold really and they all look at him like 😬 because he's dead and can't feel it but it's light-hearted so it's brushed off pretty easily and maybe we have flashbacks or at least shared memories of when jay and ava played in the snow and when arlin helped chip make a snowman for the first time and it's sweet and nostalgic and full of love and gillion adores it

/// general riptide spoilers ???
just got to ep 93 of riptide on my relisten (when finn wakes up) and i can’t stop thinking about how during the feywild arc, when celestine was assessing the magic involved in apple’s transmutation spell, necromancy was one of the types listed.
when gillion finally gets through to the unconscious finn using the bracelets, finn keeps talking about his spell, asking if it worked, if it protected his crew. it’s clear that the spell finn had been casting (over the course of 100 years supposedly) was incredibly important, and likely the reason he ended up trapped as a bird. clearly finn had some knowledge of what may happen, considering he started preparing so far in advance. it might be part of the reason he left the undersea in the first place. but after waking up, with the spell’s resulting mental deterioration, he can’t provide the answers he may have once had.
(something about the spell feels very reminiscent of a deal. finn trading his knowledge and intellect, whether he did so intentionally. something he dedicated his life to. him being able to protect his crew, to a certain extent. and when he finally gets to see that his spell worked (?) he might not fully remember it’s significance. might not remember what he wanted. why he made that choice.)
during my relisten, i’ve really taken note that whenever any of the black rose crew are talking about the hole in the sea and what they remember, there’s some pretty big gaps in memory. they all recall falling unconscious at one point or another, and waking up somewhere else. drey struggles to remember a lot after being in the block so long. finn’s memory is waning, either from age or the effects of his spell. and initially, when chip talks about that day, he’s confident in what he remembers, and doesn’t seem to dwell much about losing consciousness and how he eventually ended up at skullslice port.
but when finn wakes up, and chip gets the third part of the map tattooed on his back, everyone’s confused. why wouldn’t it be on arlin, like they’d thought? why now?
drey says something along the lines of “why chip, though? he wasn’t even down there with us. you weren’t there, right chip?”
and chip doesn’t say anything.
i think the reason there’s so many gaps in memory is that maybe none of the black rose pirates made it out. maybe there’s a reason necromancy was involved in finn’s spell.
(THESE ARE THE RAMBLINGS OF A MADMAN BTW I DO NOT CLAIM TO HAVE A THEORY AND I MIGHT HAVE COMPLETELY MISREMEMBERED SHIT BUT I AM FULL OF SO MANY THOUGHTS)

Tonight we're SO excited to celebrate @littlest-w01f! 👀
🔥 Are you a fan of OCs? Want to read about multiple OCs? Anna's got you covered! Her Eris masterlist has several fics you can check out, but we recommend checking out Flames and Darkness, a mulit-chapter story that has us sitting at the edge of our seats.
We dare you to read her Eris Omegaverse week fic ft. Eris getting pegged 🤭
Read more to learn about @littlest-w01f 's thoughts on Eris and what she's getting him for secret santa!
What inspired you to start writing for Eris? And especially for Eris x OC instead of any other ship? I feel like there is so much to Eris that we don't know yet, we've barely begun to scratch the surface of his character. And honestly, from everything we do know about him, he has the makings of an amazing character if he's done justice (And I really hope I do). I feel like Eris is the kind of a character that if you try hard enough, you can ship him with anyone, and it will always make perfect sense. While I was reading Acowar I already was in love with what he could be so I built onto that and started getting fic ideas, some might think that he's lightly OOC in my fics, but he's perfect to me. I ship him with multiple of my OCs, I look at his character and decide what type of person would suit him best and build my character off of that till they are their own person whose sole purpose isn't being shipped with Eris, and sometimes the original reason I shipped them changes and I can see for myself that these OCs I have created always end up being more intimately attached to the character I pair them with as time goes by. I love my pairings cause they are special to me. I put him with many different types of characters and I love writing how he reacts differently to them, he's more cold to some he's a puddle of fluff with some.
What are some of Eris's most misunderstood qualities?
I feel like we don't really know the real canon Eris at all, because we're seeing things from the pov of the Night Court so there is no reason for him to be his true self with them and it's easy for him to be lumped with "people who don't like/care for the IC" and some people hate him for that while the others love it when there is so much more to him. Obviously many people have pointed out the similarities between Eris and Rhys, but the main difference between them is that we see Rhys from the eyes of someone he loves and cares for that's why we see him giving reasons to his actions, while with Eris we haven't got that yet. Even still, it is clear to see that Eris has a close relationship with his guards and was genuinely worried for them when they were taken. Just because he doesn't care enough for one set of characters, doesn't mean he doesn't care at all. I doubt anyone knows the complete true Eris as of now but I hope we get to.
Can you give me a name for one of Eris's brothers? And also for one of his dogs?
Omg thank you for asking me this, I love names and their meanings, Eris is the damn lady of strife and I think it's all pretty cool. I named the second Vanserra son "Arlin" in one of my fics and will carry it forward for the rest of the fics which means "Warrior", which makes sense to me as after the Heir comes the Warrior. For the puppies, well smoke hounds, the youngest is "Ivy" in my eyes cause she always loves getting tangled up in vines and Eris has to free her every two seconds before she rushes off again to tackle vegetation, and that image in my head is too cute.
You have to get Eris a gift for secret santa - What are you getting him?
A. New. Father! With a ribbon and everything. Talking seriously, I feel like he's never had something cute before so a soft little fox stuffie or something along those lines I HC that Beron threw away any toys Eris had when he deemed Eris too old to play/have fun... That b*tch 😒

Twisted! Chip has been drawn!
Tumblr media
Chip, or as I like to call him, Mr No-Morality, is, as his nickname suggests, pretty much apathetic to everything. Everything he does is for a laugh. To him, life is a game and he's in charge.
In this au instead of doing his best to continue on and find Arlin, Chip just kind of accepted life. He's a lot like Price in this au, but less openly evil, and more just looking to prank someone. Although, prank is a bit of a tame word for the things he does. He knows that life is cruel and intends to make sure that everyone knows that. He doesn't need to plan ahead to know that whoever got in his way will regret it.
Chip is somewhat more mature in this au, if only to save his own skin. He still left Price and burned down the place, but this time it was more because he wanted to go on his own and decided to leave a message of "Don't fuck with me". This time his great journey wasn't to find someone, he just intends on fucking with people as much as possible. He can still do magic, but it's no longer fire based, instead his spells and swords are more targeted towards the necrotic side of things (not that he can raise the dead, he's not THAT good at magic).

ok so because it seems riptide is gonna be coming up on a VERY interesting point in the story in regards to reveals, with them on their way to the hole in the sea and on their way to arlin and etc etc etc, i figured i might as well put this hunch of mine here as a monument to see whether it’ll get disproven or not.
i have a feeling that chip is far more important to the story than we’ve been led to believe, not just to the story as we know it, but the WORLD of mana as a whole, or at the VERY LEAST with everything going on with the hole in the sea.
a lot of stuff is up in the air and very ambiguous, especially in regards to what actually happened to chip when down there; however, from what i remember it seems incredibly likely that he somehow learned celestial when down there, and is the only one of the og black rose pirate crew that we know of who can speak celestial and READ THE MAPS.
IN CELESTIAL.
ON CHIP, DRE, AND FINN’S AS BACKS.
from what we know, or at least what i remember, lizzy also doesn’t speak celestial. dre can’t speak celestial. finn probably doesn’t speak celestial.
it also seems that whatever caused all of them to not remember most of what happened in the black sea was INTENTIONAL.
there’s a near complete absence of memory for pretty much everyone after a certain point. with how the black sea canonically messed with dre, finn, and arlin’s memories in the one shot, corrupting their perception of their memories to make important moments to them instead be painful (as seen with arlins memory of picking up chip and taking him onto the crew being ruined with a sense of betrayal as an adult chip stabbed arlin, which i won’t even get into how that could make chip reuniting w arlin that much more tragic because arlin can only associate chip w betrayal now coupled w how many more of his memories might’ve been corrupted over the course of the past DECADE in the hole in the sea with him apparently being the most susceptible to failing the necessary save to not have his memories corrupted) which makes it incredibly likely that whatever influence the black sea has not only impacts MEMORY but also DESIRES.
this tracks w how almost all of niklaus’ deals involve people’s desires and twisting them, and when their desires corrupt them enough they begin to die and spew BLACK OOZE.
SUCH AS A CERTAIN OTHER LARGE BODY OF LIQUID COLORED SIMILARLY WITH CORRUPTIVE PROPERTIES AND TIES TO DESIRE.
in the one shot the weird egg thing and the entire area they were in dealt heavily in desire.
when corrupted people in the black sea are slain their strongest desires from when they were alive were passed on to the person who killed them (jays newfound desire to find the dread queens tomb, gillions desire to help the tree, and whatever chips desire was cuz i’ve completely forgotten but it’s probably incredibly relevant 😅).
whatever chips ties are to the hole in the sea, and possibly to the prophecy, and the entirety of the black rose pirates legacy, i feel like we’re gonna find that a lot of the things regarding chips past is gonna be a whole lot more important to mana than we thought.
and i’m incredibly excited.

I was going to make a post about which greek heroes the jrwi pcs are but i came up with a better idea. Which greek myths/stories the jrwi pcs are, mostly just based on themes and vibes and stuff. Also some of these will be combinations of two or more characters when that’s required to make things fit
Riptide
Jay: starting off with what i think is the easiest one. The myth of Icarus, but more specifically: she’s Daedalus. Crafting wings for herself to escape the prison she has been locked in, reaching freedom but losing her family in the process. It just fits very well. (Was this entire post inspired by @enby-ralsei’s fic gifted wax wings? Maybe)
Gillion: had kind of a hard time choosing between the Illiad and the twelve labors of Heracles, but landed on the Illiad. It fits him as a story of war, of wrath and prophecies and higher powers playing with the lives of mortals. Achilles, the child of a goddess, an extremely capable warrior able to level entire armies by himself, but still human, still fully aware that he will die for the war he is fighting in. Helen, an innocent bystander by all logical means, the child of a god, or a goddess, or mere mortals depending on who you ask, ripped from her home and thrust into a battle she never asked for a part in. It just… well. It fits pretty well, I think.
Chip: The Odyssey, specifically from Telemachus’ pov (huh both jay and chip got a myth but from a different pov than the title character). Just a now grown up son trying to find his father who he lost years ago, even when all likelyhood points towards him being long gone. …lets hope chip and arlin can also get a happy ending reunion? Maybe?? Please???
Prime defenders
Dakota: the myth of Perseus slaying Medusa. Perseus is like… the ideal greek hero even by modern standards. Which, you know, Dakota obviously isn’t flawless, but he is very much the ideal of heroism. Kind, willing to learn from his mistakes, forgiving, capable, strong in multiple ways, he inspires people (Mark, William, fucking the whole of WATCH) to be better. Perseus really just fits him with like how ideal his story is at least in its older forms (obviously gets very different vibes if we go with the later interpretation of medusa being a victim but the older versions fit dakota better so thats what im focusing on)
William: Hades and Persephone! Extremely complex and complicated, somehow simultaneously one of the healthier love stories in greek mythology and also the story of Hades kidnapping his wife.. yeah its complicated. Just like Will! Also you know themes of the underworld and death and rebirth :)
Vyncent: the twelve labors of heracles, it doesn’t really fit as well as some others do but i barely have any fitting ones left (not writing these in order) and at this point like 90% of the myths i have left are just men being the worst. So vyncent gets a myth thats NOT a man being the worst! A very strong and capable fighter, sometimes easily overtaken by his own anger, in desperate need to prove himself and make up for his past mistakes
Blood in the bayou
Rolan: King Oedipus… uh ignoring the incest. Focusing on the themes of discovering your true identity and being so horrified and disgusted by the truth that you can’t live with it, that you’re the monster you’ve been seeking this whole time. Being unable to ever go back to the way things used to be no matter how much you wish you could do so
Kian and Rand: Orpheus and Eurydice. Not in the sense of “this character is this one” but the different themes just fit them both so well. Kian is music, is love, is hope and failure and loss and /love/. Kian is Orpheus risking everything for those he loves. Kian is Eurydice dying again because that very love was always going to be her downfall. Kian is a tragedy, and we all know how it will end. Meanwhile Rand is grief, is loss, is refusing to move on and let go of those you love. Of looking back even when you know it will only hurt you more. Rand is Orpheus, forever stuck in mourning those he’s lost. Rand is Eurydice, never able to come back from where she has gone. Rand is a tragedy, and we all wish we didn’t know how it will end.
Apotheosis
Rumi and Peter: already talked about this in my which greek gods they are post but!! The myth of Eros and Psyche. A god and a mortal that fell for each other, pulled apart by their circumstances. The mortal dying, only to be brought back by their godly lover and raised to godhood themself. A happy and loving marriage with their (lizard) children. It just fits so well
Thanatos: always feels ironic to pick a myth that doesnt involve Thanatos himself but. I think Thanny fits the story of Prometheus pretty good. Defying the gods by stealing fire for humanity and succeeding in that goal but then getting trapped forever because of that. I mean Thanatos you know stayed trapped willingly but still (also theres a real lack of greek myths where someone defies the gods and doesnt end up suffering like. A lot. Prometheus honestly got off somewhat easily compared to some others)
Not including the suckening since i still haven’t finished it :/ ill add my thoughts on the characters once ive done so

[Arline imitating Viktor by putting on his goggles—she holds them up because they're too big for her face—and by trying to copy his accent]
Arline: I would rather be in the lab for hours working on very important Hextech stuff than do something else like getting a good night's sleep, and also, um, remembering to eat lunch because lunches are not important.
Viktor: I do not sound like that.
Jayce: She's pretty spot-on actually.

Hi hello spoilers for the ENTIRETY of riptide (specifically episodes 78, 93, 110, tho the entire campaign ep1-ep115 is talked about here) and also. A read more since this is a very. Very. Long post. And i dont intend to colour of the sky you <3
Yknow im just thinkin like ik the common theory is that chips the nameless prince and im still pretty in agreement but im also. Thinking.
Bc i relistened to episode 78 where goobleck finds the book on the nameless prince. (32:35ish) And id basically entirely forgotten abt it until i relistened to 93, heard charlies sparknotes version n wanted to listen 2 it for myself. And like.
Im pretty sure, unless im interpreting grizzlys words wrong, that the nameless prince is whatever entity was mentioned in the 110 prophecy ?
Tho its hard because. He gave a summary of what the book was about since goobleck didnt properly read it i think he just kinda. Skimmed. And he started by saying that the book is about a prince, a self proclaimed prince at that, but mostly just an entity born in the abyss. So im not sure if that entity is the same person as the prince or if theyre two different people ???? But for the sake of Thinking ill say theyre the same bc i dont see why they wouldnt be.
But he goes on to say that this book talks about this abyss entity, and how it became obsessed w spreading corruption in a world of mostly peace. And how it wants to learn about the inhabitants of this world (?) And then the book ends in chaos and tragedy, where the entire world falls to corruption. The entity destroys all living things ("this race of living creatures") and then consumes even more worlds by spreading its abyss corruption. And how its also almost. Parasitic.
So. This sounds a lot like the 110 entity.
"An entity threatens world stability / caged in the deepest layers of infinity [...] forboded calamity, the chosen is warned / the shape of all life shall take a new form / its choice to be made with no time to mourn"
Definitely sounds like this entity is the same, it threatens world stability by spreading its corruption, and this infinity could be the abyss. The shape of all life line draws my attention tho bc of how grizzly described the entity as destroying "this race of living creatures" and like a parasite.
Althoughhhhh i will have to relisten to. The just rolled for episode 93 because i think it was then that the 3 players made their guesses as to who the guarding giant, nameless prince and unborn kings are and grizzly said One was correct. I know they guessed arlin as the guarding giant and i think niklaus chip or rose's kid were other guesses perhaps ? Tho im not sure as to Where they fit each.
[HI HELLO i have now relistened to the rolled for 93. Condi guessed Arlin as the guarding giant, Chip as the nameless prince and Rose's Kid as the unborn kings. Only 1 of these is correct]
Ill also have to relisten to the stone age what if. Because even though that what if probably doesnt contain much thatd be important since. Its a what if. And it was back in the desire arc. The ending of it reminds me a bit of the nameless prince section where the entity destroys more worlds by spreading its corruption. Andddddd yea if that what if means anything at all then that could suggest niklaus as the entity or the nameless prince ?
Something else that gets me though is the legend lore scroll itself. We all know about the guarding giant nameless prince and unborn kings but. What i keep thinkin on is the beginning and end:
"A map that is a guide and a key / passed around the hands of destiny / it leads to chaos infinity / beneath the seas / the guardian giant / the nameless prince / the unborn kings / all wait to be inevitably free"
The very end with the "inevitably free" sounds like. One line of the 110 prophecy ("its release in time an inevitability" IT being the entity) and niklaus' greatest desire: freedom.
There is a consistent theme of freedom throughout riptide - or instead, a need/want for it. Gillion and jay both work towards freedom from the elders and navy respectively, islands (and casinos) early campaign all wanted freedom from various curses, pirates strive to create freedom from the navys rule, navys claim to strive to create a world free of "chaos".
However, across the nameless prince skim read, the legend lore scroll, and the 110 prophecy, there are manyyyy many parallels between them. Parallels, which i spent about 2 hours brainrotting about yesterday
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has been a couple days since i have made this biggg graphic and ive had a lotta time to dwell on this all and think. Because there are definitely many reasons why chip could be the nameless prince - and like a lotta other people i Know he has a bigger role in the world of mana than it seemed at first. However, i do feel like that role isnt the role of the nameless prince.
I mean, i probably have forgotten some evidence since i havent rewatched the ENTIRE campaign in a littleeee bit, just random episodes i think would have points of interest. But so far, we dont exactly know a whole lot about the nameless prince, only that whoever it is, is waiting to be free, could be whatever entity these poems and texts talk of, and has links to the hole in the sea. There were also a lot of details in the hole during episode two of the oneshot, which could be linked back to the prince. Lemme justtttt. Get the notes i took during my rewatch of it.
So, on the staircase where the three had their flashbacks, there were a few engravings in the wall. Some were words in abyssal primordial which read "what do you desire", others were depictions of humanoids with gems and coins, some were depictions of slavery + power. However, one stood out to finn since whilst the others repeated, this one was unique and singular. And it was the mountain with a crown above it.
This ofc could be passed off as mostly unimportant since it appeared so very early in the campaign, but we all know grizzlys dming and worldbuilding style isnt like that - everything thats been mentioned so far has been important in some way or another, and events from incredibly early episodes still affect the present day.
Although, unfortunately, i am Not Smart. And dont really know what this could Mean.
Weve seen a few mountains throughout the campaign, and none that instantly feel connected to that. Theres the mountain they all climbed in 111 of course, but that just housed those ice pirates, not anything much to do with a prince. It did also make me think of edison kingdom, since that has a monarchy and is a stacked city, howeverrrrr i doubt it would be that since. I dont see the relevance.
The crown is of course the only part here we can really connect to anything, that being the nameless prince. Since, they are a PRINCE afterall (although i do think these names are more metaphorical than literal). There ARE other places throughout the campaign crowns appear (once again, edison, and queen) though i doubt the edison kingdom would be so important to what feels like personal riptide pirate story, and queen didnt exist much as a character until they were introduced in episode like. 80smth. And their name is only queen bc charlie started the bohemian rhapsody bit.
SOOO yea basically. Summed up. Shits addin up. And also not addin up. I have lots of thoughts on this stuff, howeverrrr like ive said before im. Not very good at analysing. And also not the most articulate either. All in all, i think chip could possibly not be the nameless prince, and whoever the nameless prince IS could be whatever entity has been mentioned around a lot. The end. Goodbye. Thanks 4 readin. Love u.

i lied, i just drew these two. (sorry to anyone who expected more, i do still really like this au so i’ll probably add more character designs in the future, i just kinda ran out of steam after drawing my two favorite dudes from it.)
Tumblr media
Gillion (displaced) and Gillian (prime/human gillion/gill with an A) are the partial focal points of my au, Zeros To Heroes And Beyond (or ZTHAB.) the au is built off of the patreon just roll what-if oneshot, Zeros To Heroes, in which albatrio + ollie are wannabe superheroes in the prime defenders universe.
(more explanations and versions of the drawing plus some notes on the designs under the cut) (like seriously i go on for a while)
the oneshot itself is nothing particularly thrilling, they’re basically in fortnite. that’s the best way i can think to put it. it’s a battle royale with other wannabe heroes and villains. but it has IMPLICATIONS. chip jay and ollie, they’re from prime in this universe. they even have powers unique to the versions of themselves on mana. but gillion? he’s described as being the exact same. disoriented and excited. same clothes/armor and everything. which really got me thinking
i think the oneshot exists in a timeline where rather than being banished from the undersea, gillion was banished from mana altogether. to a different dimension entirely. one where he’s not supposed to be because, as is established with his friends (and drey ferin at one point) in the what-if, this version of prime has its own versions of characters from mana. so i think it’s only reasonable to assume there’s also already a gillion there. and maybe this human gill knows all this. maybe he’s jealous of his fishy counterpart filling the role he should be in.
thats the prime side of the idea. if you observe the Zeros To Heroes And Beyond tag, you’ll see the development and brainstorming and other ideas i’ve had, including what would happen to the chip and jay on mana without a gillion to drive them forward. it’s also been a pretty collaborative story, if you were a part of adding ideas to this please lemme know so i can credit you.
also feel free to send me asks about these versions of the characters, as well as just the au in general. i’m more than open to questions, suggestions, and the like ¦] oh and you can also use these designs if you want, as long as you @ me so i can see what you did with them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(additional characters relevant to the au are edyn, finn, lizzie, caspian, marshal john but he’s just kind of there, ava but more so her presence, arlin at some point probably, and of course everybody on mana. and the prime defenders probably are relevant as well.) (i’m also thinking about making prime!pretzel some kind of domestic animal like a cat or a dog. maybe a bird?)

I AM ASKING YOU ABOUT YOUR ZOMBIE AUS 🤲🤲🤲🤲 I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM !!!!!!!!!!!! i looooove a good zombie au
HOORAYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okok so both my riptide and pd one are heavily inspired by two different zombapoc video games,, being telltale's walking dead video games and the last of us. buuut i've put a lot of original thoughts and ideas into them and i. love them so much ^__^
the riptide one is pretty messy but the PD one is the one im prouder of :D (both AUs have heavy spoilers for both campaigns)
Riptide
-basically, this AU is inspired by the dynamic of Lee and Clementine from the first walking dead game, but it's branched out a lot further than that.
-at the start of the zombie apocalypse, Arlin teamed up w/Drey and Finn under Captain Rose, and they all formed a lil survivor group (rest of the black rose pirate are there too-- minus chip.)
-when the trio's scavenging through a neighborhood, Chip manages to steal from them, and Arlin's the first one to catch him. Chip, being himself, thinks Arlin is insanely cool and basically makes him adopt him.
-essentially the entire AU follows Arlin trying to find Chip's parents, while Rose is moving the group north through the city to reunite with his lover (and external evidence points to Chip's parents potentially being up North too, in one of the big survivor bases).
-all is fine until, yk. zombies attack them. but these are more distorted, creepier zombies, and they work in more of a coordinated spooky hivemind instead of being the typical braindead zombies as is typical of twd/twd-inspired stuff.
-rest of it vaguely follows the plot of the hole in the sea but. zombies.
-essentially, ten or so years later, Chip appears in Featherbrooke, a navy-ran (the navy still exists here don't ask) base that Jay lives in. And then it's like Origins but. zombies.
-Chip convinces Jay to join him on the road while also talking big about how he's out searching for the old Black Rose group, and is also convinced that Finn Tidestrider could create a cure for the zombies.
-gillion fucking Shows Up.
-etcetc. stuff happens.
-basically, the dynamics here are heavily inspired by the TWDG series, but grew and branched out etc. Chip and Arlin are kind of inspired by Clementine and Lee,, Chip and Ollie are kind of like Clementine and AJ,, etc.
-also. Drey is immune. He gets bit the last time that Chip ever sees him which is why Chip thinks that he's dead, but. nope ^__^ this is also why he's kept in prison by the navy, but also kept largely a secret.
-The Ferins in general in this au are all entirely fucked up and have weird connections to immunity/resistance against. becoming zombies.
^^^- Jay got sent out with Chip as a spy because he kept talking about Finn and finding a cure (+ Jayson also has the knowledge of Drey, etc.) and basically, Jayson thinks that finding a cure could help cure Ava, who died to a zombie bite around 5 years ago.
PD
I ACTUALLY HAVE A LONGFIC OF THIS ONE IN THE WORKS. BUT IT'S TAKING ME A SECOND. it's inspired by TLOU but my TLOU knowledge is actually pretty lackluster </3
-basically, the barebones of this AU is that it's TLOU. Mark is like Joel, Dakota is like Ellie, and Ashe is like Sarah.
-Instead of straight up zombies, it's demons.
-Superpowers and superheroes still exist in this AU, but they are definitely pretty different.
-The apocalypse started when Ashe summoned the trickster, killing their mother etc., but wasn't able to push the trickster back. The chaos zone opened which caused the world to fall to ruin.
-People live in safe zones put together by WATCH, and are all heavily discouraged from leaving due to the. yknow. posessions.
-William is "dead" at the modern day of the AU. He and Ashe were friends before the end of the world, but William was killed by Ashe/The Trickster.
-The closer parallel to Riley is Katori/"rooftop girl",, this part of Dakota's backstory is still pretty similar.
-The AU actually starts when Mark is tasked by Overlord to smuggle "cargo" across Prime, said cargo being Dakota.
- The Overlord is doing all that weird human experimentation shit like in canon, but this time is trying to combine human and demon DNA for the purpose of finding a "cure"/ a way for people to resist being posessed.
-Here's my favorite part of this AU. Dakota is immune to being possessed by demons cause he literally just fucking eats them. This is only possible because of fucking Fartbo i hate it here
-Anyways, William suddenly wakes up alive after being dead for 20 years at the start of the AU. He sees a wisp guiding him and follows it.
-Around the same time, Vyncent still got isekai'd. As one does. Cantrip robbed him on his first day in Prime because I think that's funny.
-Tide is a hero in the Rockfall safe zone, who adopts and mentors Vyncent and William when they first show up.
^^ okok i have. more of the AU planned out from here but since i plan on turning it into a fic pretty soon i dont want to talk more about it past this point cause. i have a really cool plot idea that i dont wanna spoil ^__^

okay so i watched ep 110 of jrwi and the newest episode of helluva boss today so I'll cover jrwi today and helluva boss tomorrow because I care more about jrwi
so. spoilers for jrwi episode 110
My first thought was that Chip would be an End avatar considering he doesnt have a heart anymore and the Dread Queen has her whole thing with death
But the End is all about things ending permanantly, and the Dread Queen is trying to live forever, so it contrasts. But the End also has zombies, which are undead creatures?
But Chip existing in a D&D world, he can and has died before and just rolled death saving throws and all that, and that's pretty End-aligned.
At the same time, what else could Chip be? He's technically a zombie?
Idk. for the sake of moving on, we'll say Chip is now an avatar of the End.
So what affects/affected him most?
Off the top of my head, probably the Lonely or maybe the Stranger? I know he has his whole thing with fire, but he doesn't really fit into the Desolation imo? Maybe the Hunt since he's looking for Arlin?
Final answer: Chip would be an avatar of The End, and is most heavily touched by the Lonely and Hunt (?)
this was more me rambling to find my thoughts than my actual thoughts lmao that's okay
Final thoughts: chip!archivist au???
