TIG Blog Announcement

Hey, TIG fandom. I have a massive undertaking that's going to span throughout The Grandest Game series. If you noticed today's post called the "TGG To-Do List", that's going to be a new segment on the blog. Also, I'm going to start another called "TGG Mysteries" which will address the major mysteries we know of going into The Grandest Game. I may also start a third called TGG Theories but we'll get to that later. Anyways, TGG To-Do List and TGG Mysteries will be two new additions on my blog headings for you to check out.

I will also be incorporating a series of new hashtags: #tggtodolist, as you likely already saw, #tggmysteries, and #tggtheories.

Now, what is going on with this? Well, under TGG To-Do List and TGG Mysteries, you'll find all entries related to the tags and there will likely be several parts. However, I don't want to just do this myself. I've already been talking to several people about clues on the covers and in the past books. @hathorneheiress and @carmenpowerpuffgirl, you are my inspo for this so kudos to you before I continue.

As a community, there are many minds with different thought processes and ideas. Like in the last few days we've been guessing and spinning theories left, right, and through the roof which is why I believe we can all make contributions to this. So here's what I want you to do. If you have ideas to add to the to-do list or have theories pertaining to the mysteries, send an ask or put one of the hashtags listed on here and tag me so I can put a link to your entry.

I want to see to see this list grow. I know for sure that many of you are hungry for content but the truth is we already have much of it here and who knows how many new things we can put together from the old clues. Remember what Jameson told Avery in The Final Gambit?

I don't know what mark we're at. I don't know how far we have to go. I don't know if we're that much closer. But, what I do know is we have four books in our possession and we have five covers that give us clues and there's also a whole lot of us. Surely, that's enough to start somewhere. Maybe this is our Saturday morning where we get to show we're extraordinary but we know that already so let's do just that. We've been taught how to think like Hawthornes; are you ready to prove that? This is your chance.

Please comment, reblog, and like this to spread the news. If we actually connect and do this, I know that we'll have a lot more fun in the months of waiting and could decode more than ever before. Who's ready to do this?

It’d only been 2 weeks since I had been disowned by my parents, but I missed them. Badly. When I left, they told me not to bother calling, that they were done with me. And I couldn’t tell Avery this, because with everything going on, I mean the inheritance and the pressure, I didn’t want to put too much on her plate. But I felt completely alone. Tears were starting to fill my eyes, but I blinked them away before any could fall. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and quickly unlocked it, scrolling through my contacts list and hitting my mom’s number. I hold the phone to my ear and pray she answers. Please, mom. I think, fighting back the urge to cry. Please answer. The ringing stops and I think that she picked up the phone, when suddenly the line goes dead. What? I try again, but it doesn’t let me. It says she blocked my number. If it had been hard to hold back the tears then, it was impossible now. I just stared at my phone as tears started streaming down my face, and for once, I let them. It was well past midnight, and I was just in the kitchen in Hawthorne House, so it wasn’t like anyone could hear me. I balled up my fists and pressed them to my eyes, leaning against the counter as sobs racked my chest, when I suddenly heard a noise beside me.

“Max?” A familiar voice whispers. I whip my head around to see Xander Hawthorne standing in his pjs. His eyes widened when he saw the tears staining my cheeks, and for some reason I wanted to tell him everything, but I didn’t. “Are you okay?” I quickly wiped the tears off my face with the back of my hand, before sniffing.

“I’m fine. What are you doing up?” I ask, smiling to try and lighten the mood. He smiles back, but I’m 99% sure it’s because he knows I’m trying to change the subject. “Just getting a midnight snack. My robot prototype just isn’t working, so I’ve been staying up to try and fix it. But what happened? Why are you crying?” He takes a step closer to me, and for some reason butterflies swarmed my chest.

“Oh, nothing. Just thought of something sad.” I say, vaguely. He raises his only eyebrow at me and smiles. “Like?” He presses. Something unravels in me, a need to tell him everything, and I do. I explain how my parents won’t let me talk to them or my brother, how I flew here last minute and was so scared and unsure what to do, and how I didn’t want to bother anybody with all this, especially not Avery, who was already under enough stress. Another sob comes out of me and I press a hand to my mouth, trying to hide it. Xander didn’t have to know about this, and I squeezed my eyes shut hard. When I opened them, the tears were gone and I saw Xander looking at me with kindness in his eyes.

“Max, I’m sorry about everything.” He says, and then I realize how awkward I must have made this. And how close we were standing. “Don’t worry about it-“ But before I can finish my sentence, he’s pulled me into a hug. It was loose, as I’m sure he probably didn’t want to make me uncomfortable, but I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him back. I buried my face in his chest and for some reason, although it was past midnight, he smelled good. Like fresh laundry. It gave me something to focus on instead of my parents, and I squeezed my eyes shut, breathing in and out and listening to his heart beat. My own heart was currently beating as if it were on 17 rollercoasters on top of another rollercoaster at how close Xander was to me, but I just focused on the steady drum of his. Eventually, my breathing slowed and my nose started to clear up, but I still didn’t let go. And neither did he. Now I could hear his heart beating fast, but I didn’t want to say anything or let go of him. I held onto him and allowed myself a moment of safety and peace as I breathed in, and out.

“Thank you.” I whispered into his shirt. He pats my back gently and the touch makes my heart accelerate, which makes me feel stupid since he basically just tapped it. “My pleasure.” He mutters back. But he still doesn’t let go of me. And I don’t let go of him. We stay like that for a bit longer, and although I was sure the hug would have to eventually end, I held onto him for as long as I could.

I’m working on it, but not gonna lie, I’m stuck. I’m also super busy with my PhD program starting up. Like, right now, I have to write a 12 pg paper that I’m halfway through. I would much rather be writing “missing him…”

But that’s the fic that I am currently working on. It will either be that one or my royai fic updated next. It just depends. I’m swamped. It’s stressful. I just wanna sit and write, but I feel guilty writing these fics when I could be writing for class or working on my novel. It just sucks. But I WILL finish “missing him…” even if it kills me!

Like everything was just stupidly over the top for no reason bc it was their last hurrah of a season and they honestly didn't care anymore so they said fuck it

And sure like there are even some parts of s6 that I'm like "yeah okay" with but it's overshadowed by the tacky mess that is every other part of s6. Especially the hurt lockers. Do you have any headcanons about averyjameson getting engaged when they're older?

Okay, let's get to business. In all honesty, I'm kind of not ready to think about them older and engaged and yet I literally have an idea for a fic with their first child. Here you go:

Jameson proposes in Tuscany when they're on a trip to Italy (don't know why, just feels right).

When he was planning for the ring he was going to get her, he asked Libby and Max for their input. They happily helped him create a list of things before heading off to a jeweler. At this point, he hadn't told any of his brothers he was planning to propose but he did have a talk of sorts with Nash at a previous 911.

Nan helped him look through designs in her collection and connected him with an old friend of his grandfather's that helped create some of the most valuable pieces for his grandmother. The final design of the engagement ring is an oval emerald on a gold band with some fancy engravings (elegant but simple as put by Max).

Once he had the ring, he finally confirmed to Nash that he was planning to propose but let him know to not say anything to Xander or Gray yet. His brother promised and gave him tips on how to approach Toby for his blessing since that was his next step.

Now, this part of the plan is delayed for several weeks as all confident Jameson for once in his life is not feeling confident and so, after drinking a shot of bourbon for a boost, he made his way to a diner to meet with his adopted uncle.

After some small talk, Toby made him cut to the chase and although he gave Jamie a hard time, he tells him that he has his blessing and that he's grown to be a better man than him or his grandfather. Jameson cries just a little on the way home but he tells himself that was just the wind biting at his face because it was cold.

Fast forward to him planning a summer trip for him and Avery in the Mediterranean and he's finally told his other brothers. They congratulate him and eagerly give him suggestions along with Libby and Maxine and soon they share a Pinterest board with all these plans and aesthetics. And soon, it's time to jet off to Italy.

With a week long affair, Jameson is both excited and dying on the inside. Avery is pretending to be none the wiser.

Before they left, he packed her an emerald green summer dress for the day of the proposal.

They have fun at the beach, go to Florence and Pisa, make funny poses at the Tower of Pisa, horseback riding at the winery, eat overly expensive gelato and cannolis, and consume as many pasta types at they dare (no, seriously, it was a dare; you guess).

Meanwhile, every day of the week, he goes to practice proposing in the bathroom mirror. His hands get clammier with each passing day as Friday comes near.

He calls Nash and Gray for reassurance to calm down. Unfortunately, he wanders the halls more restlessly at night with the ring in his pocket.

Finally, Friday arrives. No going back. He has the day set; another day in town, then a romantic wine dinner looking out over the mountains at sunset.

He tries his utmost to keep himself distracted from the evening ahead but hour after hour goes by and soon they're back at the house, washing up and getting ready for dinner.

While Avery is in the shower, he sneaks out the dress and puts it one the bed and writes "Wear me if you dare." on a piece of paper.

He leaves for the living room and practices his lines again as he waits for her.

After a long hour, she comes and they head out to the area he set up dinner. Of course, Avery has been suspicious this whole time but hasn't called Tahiti because she is certain he's going to finally break without her even asking.

She thanks him for the dress and kisses him on the cheek, secretly wondering what the special event is. Was it the special lady's intuition telling her that there was a ring coming out soon?

They talk and talk while they wine and dine on his grandfather's finest white wine. She is itching to ask but the pasta dinner is hitting that good. Jameson is barely able to eat dinner from being so nervous.

Just as she is about to make him spill the beans, he literally just shouts, "Marry me!" Avery is taken aback, her mouth wide open and for a long moment, she doesn't say anything as her boyfriend is staring at her panicked, realizing he messed up.

Before he could start hating himself, Avery literally dives into his arms without a word and hugs him. Confused, he hugs her back and they sit like that for a long moment, her on his lap. Then, she whispers, "Yes, Jamie. I'd love to marry you."

When she pulls back Jameson is staring at her in wonder and as he's about to reach for the ring, she kisses him. A bit dazed after the kiss, he's still holding the ring box unopened and she asks if she can open it. He nods and then lets her.

She starts crying when she sees the ring and he gently takes her hand, asking if he can put it on her. Avery just nods and holds out her shaky hand as Jameson tries to stop his own hand from trembling while he puts it on.

The two kiss again and then Avery decides to go run through the vineyard, Jameson chasing after her as she heads for the stable.

They go riding and then stop in the middle of the field, spinning in circles until out of nowhere, they just start swaying to invisible music.

They don't sleep a wink that night as they whisper excitedly the whole time until early morning when they finally are too tired.

Little do they know that Xander has planned an entire engagement party waiting for them when they return from Italy.

The last two days they travel for a weekend beach date.

That took everything I got to make this. Thanks for the request, I hope you enjoy reading this long ass list.

THL but Percy doesn't go anywhere.

He and Annabeth are patrolling the Camp boundaries and hear something.

They go to inspect it, hear a roar and that silence.

Jason stumbles towards them, terrified.

He looks like he's been running for days, his clothes are wrecked, he's littered with injuries.

And he's missing his shoes.

He reaches out to them in panic and says something neither understand.

Before blacking out.

Waking up in the infirmary with no memory of how he got here.

Nor any memory of who he is.

He struggles to speak and manages to clumsily write "Jason" on a notebook but that's all.

Piper and Leo came to camp around 2 months ago are getting to know this crazy world and their new lives.

Piper, not content with how the Aphrodite cabin is being looked down on.

And no one wanting to teach her how to fight.

And it being Clarisse of all people who ends up mentoring her.

Some say its out of respect for her old friend, some say its because Piper reminds her of her.

Leo, getting to know his new siblings but he tries and fails to keep them at arms length.

He refuses to use his fire.

And has not told anyone about it's existence. For the fear it will ruin everything like it always does.

But it's getting harder to keep it a secret.

And maybe part of him... Wants to believe it's a blessing and not a curse.

Their paths cross when Jason starts to have dreams about a woman calling for his aid.

Because he's not the only one having them.

Cue Percy cursing in the corner.

Jason while he can speak he sometimes struggling with his words.

And sometimes makes barking noises.

Grover thinks he could be of the wild but has no idea what or how.

Because while Jason doesn't have a strong scent, it's definitely of a demigod.

Perhaps he was blessed? Not that Grover can see it.

But it's not the biggest thing to worry about.

Though he has sent like... 3 people to the infirmary from biting them.

They startled him.

... So there's that.

Piper and Leo are trying to figure out their dreams together with Jason.

But he's having other other ones they aren't getting.

A wolf calling out to him.

Saying that the God's have stolen her pup and she will have him returned.

Jason doesn't know who she is but she feels familiar.

They manage to piece togrther that the woman is Hera.

Annabeth calmly gets up and punches a hole in the wall.

Because... Of course it's Hera.

When the, annoyance somewhat fades away Percy wonders why no one from Olympus has said anything.

They ask Mr D but he has no idea what they are talking about.

Jason can't help but feel the wolf in his dreams seems familiar.

And he feels the same way when the hunters of Artemis show up and the eyes of their lieutenant fall on him.

Thalia knows it's him.

She tells Annabeth as much.

"It's him, it's Jason."

"Thalia..."

"I know it's crazy, I know it's insane but it's him... Its him..."

"Okay, if you say it's him."

She doesn't get to confront him on it until during Capture the flag.

"Jason! Jason please, it's me?"

"I'm sorry I don't..."

Thalia wants to scream but she doesn't, she needs to be calm.

It's him.

She knows it's him.

Their attacked by campers and from being distracted she's knocked down.

A rage fills Jason that he hasn't felt before.

... He knows her...

Lighting bursts from his body in all directions, shocking the now scared campers away from Thalia.

"GET AWAY FROM MY SISTER!"

He rushes past, helping her up.

"Thalia?"

"You.. You remember me?"

"A little... I'm sorry... I'm sorry I forgot."

She makes a sound that's a mix of a sob and a laugh and pulls him into a hug.

He hides his face in Thalia's shoulder not liking the attention. When he realises everyone is looking at him.

Or rather above him.

At the lighting bolt above him.

"All hail, Jason Grace. Son of Zeus, King of Olympus, Lord of the Sky. God of Thunder, Lightning, Kingship, Honor and Justice. All hail Jason Grace, son of the Lighting God."

Everyone's talking about what?! Zeus had another child?!

The chatter dies down when Rachel, who upon seeing Jason, glows bright green and da da da daaaa the oracle has entered the building.

Child of lighting

Beware the earth.

The earth giants revenge the seven shall birth.

The dove and the forge will break the cage.

And death unleash through Hera's rage.

Quest plays out and Jason gets his memories back.

Remembers that he's the son of Jupiter

Returns to camp.

And a lighting bolt appears overhead, this time with a numeral beside it.

For 1.

Chiron smiles sadly, taking it as acceptance to share the truth.

Tells the story of the Roman and Greek demigods.

"And our Jason, is not the son of Zeus but his Roman counterpart Jupiter."

Everyone reels taking in this information.

And while many are suspicious of the Romans, Jason has become a good friend and ally to them.

"Lupa said... That I must return... Maybe that's the next step?" Says Jason, standing tall. "Woah, hey we're not gonna let you alone." Says Percy, "agreed" Says Annabeth, Piper and Leo nods.

"I'm not losing you again." Says Thalia.

Not happy by Hera's explanation of having to keep them seperated.

Jason smiles warmly "than we shall go. To Camp Jupiter, together."

"Togrther!"

My Roman Empire is that scene in THL where Grayson lost control for the first time ever since the series started and YELLED at Jameson asking him "what do you want from me?" when Jameson was mad at him for not running to Avery when the bomb detonated.

Grayson never ever yelled before that point of time.

~ before they have kids, they get a really big dog (not sure what breed it would be you guys can decide that for yourself) and jameson loves it SO MUCH

~ jameson keeps a note in his phone with all the things that avery has said that she likes so that he can buy them for her as gifts and stuff

~ because jameson is always thinking that he's ordinary and not special avery calls him "my extraordinary boy" and other stuff like that

~ he's always ranting about about how much he loves her on his private stories or putting her in them

~ he went on that website where you can "buy" stars and name them and named one after her

~ they have jacuzzi dinners sometimes

~ before they were dating (around thl) jameson would just stare at her for long periods of time and that's how he realized he was falling in love with her

~ when she sleeps in he'll come into her room and hug her from behind while she sleeps

~ whenever they have to go to meetings together and avery starts getting fidgety (picking her nails, bouncing her leg, etc.) he reaches over and holds her hand under the table

~ she likes to braid parts of his hair while hes napping on her or just play with it in general

~ before avery falls asleep he tells her all of things that he loves about her

~ he's always whispering dirty things to her while they're on camera and she gets really blushy so the fans are always trying to figure out what he's saying

~ definitely won prom kind and queen at some point (jameson prob won it before avery was there tbh)

~ jameson is extremely oblivious to the fact that other girls hit on him all the time

~ he likes to watch her do her makeup (or get her makeup done) but the stylists usually don't let him around because he's always distracting her

~ jameson always lets avery pick out his clothes because he knows that its fun for her

~ not only is he good at surprises and stuff, he's also really good at getting the perfect gifts for her and asking the right people for what to get her

~ avery keeps a journal of all of her feelings throughout their relationship and stuff and shows it to him on their wedding night
