Happy two years anniversary to one of the most beautiful and original story I have ever read... Be Kind, My Neighbor!! It’s amazing how it already has been two years! How time flies by... 🍳🎉 Here’s a Wegg holding a strawberry cake to celebrate!! 🥚🍓🎂

BKMN has been having an huge impact of me... A huge positive impact! First of all I have met incredible friends, people, artists and so on because of that story... I have been so much inspired artistically as well in the past two years!!

But also I have met my fictional other... the corn farmer I love so much: Rarold. August 15 is our special day... (I first have read the book on August 15, 2022) and I totally have something planned for our own anniversary!! (Stay tuned... 👀)

Well long story short... BKMN is a very good and beautiful comic story to me. Meaningful, even. If you’re 18+, I totally recommend to read that story at least once... (Of course don’t forget to check the content warning and such!)

Plus, Neighbor!Bob is good for the soul and I need him.

You wake up feeling poorly, your head aching, throat sore. Getting out of bed is exerting. You can barely muster up excitement when the doorbell rings, inevitably Robert with your morning paper, here for a quick five minute coffee + kiss stop before he has to head to base.

When the door opens, he immediately knows something is off. You're not nearly your normal bright self. He ushers you into the kitchen, tinkering around with mugs, the kettle, and the loose leaf tea from that shop in Coronado you like to visit. You give your boss the out sick message as your neighbor takes you in one arm and your tea in the other, heading straight for the couch.

He drapes you with as many blankets as he can find, pressing kisses to your temple despite your outcries that he'll get sick too.

"It will be worth it if you feel better."

He knows he's running late and will have an admiral to report to, but he can't help but set you up with a few movies, your sewing project, and grabbing a few books from your bedroom so you won't be bored. You watch him walk around the house comfortably from your spot, hot tea so soothing on your throat.

When he's satisfied you'll be okay, he presses another soft kiss to your face and looks you in the eye, promising, "As soon as training is done, I'll come right back. You want soup? I'll make us some soup and we can cuddle. You just focus on getting better, okay?"

Sure enough, it's the next week you're taking care of him on his couch, but the snuggles and homemade noodle soup were worth it.

For my 30th birthday, I commissioned this amazing cake from a local independent baker I met through mutual friends. (If you live in Brooklyn/NYC and want the connection you can DM me and I can send it to you.)

The cake itself was chocolate with a strawberry filling and matcha buttercream. The flowers were real and not edible and the little Totoro on top was made entirely of buttercream.

I'm so happy with how it came out and am so incredibly grateful I could have such an amazing cake to help me celebrate a milestone birthday for me :)

Sarah Miller never did anything wrong, and I mean never. She never cheated on a test, never faked sick to get out of P.E., always turned off the tv by 8 even when Joel wasn’t home. She was the kind of kid to finish her science lab work early and help the table beside her who was running behind. She knew the names of the bus driver and their mail lady and the guy at blockbuster that checked them out every other Friday when they had movie marathons. She never skipped brushing her teeth, she helped baby birds when they fell out of their nests. She smiled at babies and old people. She was the single most radiant ray of sunshine in the world, no wonder Joel can’t help but light up when he talks about her.
