Continually frustrated by my attempts to make a cohesive playlist for Shafan because I can’t settle on a single sound for them. You can’t just put Tom Petty, Glen Campbell, Modest Mouse, and Gotye on the same fuckin playlist it doesn’t WORK.

#it needs to FLOW RIGHT #theres gotta be a THEME #shits bouncin all over the spectrum and doesn’t make a damn bit of sense #i keep trying to jam these puzzle pieces together because like #Because Gentle on my Mind is such a perfect snapshot of shafan’s brain #BUT SO IS KING RAT.#and if you play those one after the other you get musical whiplash #listen when i make a playlist it isnt just a collection of songs i relate to a character #it’s supposed to be a coherent experience you can listen to from beginning to end #the songs transition into one another smoothly #the mood is consistent or follows a gradual curve #and it all sounds related like you could find all these songs on the same film soundtrack #and Shafan reliably foils my ability to do this
