I know some dickheads have now decided that Judaism is the "bad, violent, terrorist religion" and Islam is the "good, peaceful" one, which is only to be expected of white people, but how much of an issue is it currently? Like I've seen some USAmericans sharing how the Islamic faith shapes Gazans values and perseverance (good) except with that distinct white hippie "I'm about to imprint on this like the world's most racist duck" vibe (bad), but I didn't think they're already turning on Judaism in numbers.
Do they realize that Christianity is also the same kind of comfort to Christian minorities in Asia and Africa? That it was Buddhists that genocided the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Tamils in Sri Lanka? That Hindu fundamentalists are even now trying to ethnically cleanse Muslims in India? How Hindus and Christians are terrorized and persecuted in Pakistan? That Muslims have a history of persecuting and ethnically cleansing Jews too?
Really tired of asking y'all to be normal about people's religions man. There's no religion that's inherently violent or exceptionally peaceful. It's just like any other ideology that becomes a weapon in the hands of ethnic power. Interrogate power, not religion, and respect people's belief systems insofar as they aren't in your business.
Edit: I've amended the "long history" of Muslim persecution of Jews because it might be misleading in the current political climate. Zionism and antisemitic Arab nationalism are twin births resulting directly from Christian colonization, and Islamic empires tended to actually be more tolerant of other religions compared to Christianity, especially Judaism, which was considered a sibling religion. Antisemitism wasn't ideologically entrenched in Islamic tradition. It's simply that ethno-religious power will lead to ethno religious domination and intermittent cleansing of minorities, and Islam is no exception. Humans be humaning always.

Meet Sophie Beckett, Bridgerton’s most elusive leading lady
It also hasn't escaped fans’ notice that, by the end of Season 3, all of the endgame love interests for the adult Bridgerton siblings – Daphne (Simon Basset), Anthony (Kate Sharma), Colin (Penelope Featherington), Eloise (Phillip Crane), and Francesca (Michaela Stirling) – have officially been cast and made an appearance on the show in some capacity…except for Benedict.
thanks to a number of factors, Sophie has become the single most elusive character in the entire show.
The secrecy surrounding Sophie became so blatant that a running joke developed amongst Benophie fans during the press tour for Season 3. Sophie was deemed the “Voldemort” of Bridgerton…given that Sophie was apparently also “[she] who must not be named”
So yes, while it was certainly exciting to read "Lady in Silver" in an official Shondaland article, it was simply not sufficient in light of the show's longstanding history of denying Sophie her rightful place in this universe.
Bridgerton has continued its habit of inexplicably keeping Sophie hidden from the world.
There is perhaps a greater discussion to be had about this long-term pattern of omitting Sophie (and now also Ha, who will be Bridgerton's third POC in a leading role, and the second WOC) from conversations surrounding this show

comparison between rhaenyra taking away rhaenys’ son—lbr leaving isnt voluntary under pain of death and rhaenys THINKS he’s dead so its the same to her— and rhaenys being left sobbing at her own hearth bc rhaenyra wanted that effect to bolster her position and be feared. then later rhaenyra’s son is taken from her and she’s in tears in front of her own hearth. so rhaenyra made a blameless woman feel that pain but when it swung back around to her instead of going after aemond she’s gonna swing it right back at….helaena, another blameless woman
and the choice of setting of a hearth! yeah yeah targ fire shit but also a woman in front of a hearth is usually visual shorthand for a warm home and family, but here its used in moments where a home is made cold and a family is destroyed. i think helaena’s going to see her son’s body by her hearth too
The fucking psychic damage I just suffered from this ask……

Yall…streets saying Mielle Organics is making people’s hair fall out.
And I can personally attest to this because I’ve been using their Rosemary Mint oil(and in general I think it’s specifically the Rosemary Mint line that was produced after they sold to proctor and gamble) and so has my family. Our hair has been falling out. My own hair has been falling out after using the oil in odd amounts(not normal shedding. Like it was a lot and it was immediately after detangling and blow drying too. During washday most of the shedding comes out during the washing process. I still shouldn’t be losing hair after detangling and blow drying. More in the tags) when it shouldn’t be.
I don’t know what’s going but there’s also this too:
All I ask is that ya’ll share your experiences if you’ve had issues because this is looking like another DevaCurl situation.

I do love the Bennet marriage because man they really do make each other worse. He’d still probably be a high-handed prick if he’d married a sensible, economical woman, but he wouldn’t be putting the family at risk of poverty and scandal on his own initiative. And she would still be irritable and foolish, probably, but a husband who was nice to her but capable of saying “we can’t afford that” or “Lydia can’t go to Brighton” would neutralize a lot of the effects.

me: i wonder why the into the spiderverse ‘DANGER’ music sound is so similar to the Prowler theme from the first movie. obviously its very good at imparting that sense of dread, and sounds very cool, but it feels like a strange choice to have it go from being specifically for the Prowler to a more generic Danger! Danger! sound
me: maybe it’s the trauma.
me:
me like three days later, finally putting two and two together with the twist at the end: OH SHIT WAIT-

the backrooms wasn't even supposed to be scary....... the effect was that it was liminal, and sort of weird and a little sacred maybe....... like when you're at a con after hours and the endless corridors of carpeted ballroom-adjacent hallways are hushed and empty...... a transitional space that is unsettling in how it does not seem to have an end..... why does everything have to have lore or characters or be an scp thing.... why couldn't we just appreciate the quiet winding hallways of an outdated midwestern motel

Uhg tumblr is broken again
I had a tag I would go into every day on tumblr to brows, and a few weeks ago it just stopped working. As always i clicked on latest posts, and after 5 posts it would just end like I'd reached the last of the tag content. All the stuff I'd seen the day before just 'gone'. So I switched to a different version of that tag, it worked, and I browsed it daily on the latest posts. And now today it's cutting off after 5 posts and acting like "there's nothing more here haha :)". Both were main tags for a well known show, which have plenty of posts that I KNOW ARE THERE tumblr just started pretending that they aren't out of nowhere. My app is fully updated, so maybe its just a mobile bug cause I haven't checked desktop to see if it does the same thing. Would love for the tags to work properly... anyone else have this issue???
