okay so im back in navbar hell (when i thought i escaped...!!!) but ive managed to get this set up today :D

#my issue is that im trying to make the navbar properly responsive and have a toggle option once the screen gets too small #if u look on my blog i had it on my last attempt at this because i was using bootstrap but i was like okay i gotta make a new project!#cause i wanted to use nextjs #and not have to worry about backend stuff as much #okay so like..... i know im being kinda stubborn here lol #i could just slap bootstrap on and copy my old code but i dont wanna #i already have tailwind on here and i dont want to confuse myself anymore #so ive been looking for navbar tutorials using tailwind to help and omg #i thought i found a good one and then i realized it used a specific js package which i cant use cause im using typescript...#and i cant find a ts version #so now im just set on doing it without any outside stuff #like just show me how to make the thing with just html and javascript #at least that way i can just translate the the js to ts on my own!!!#anyways lol i found a video that should help...pls #ill watch it later....#but today im tired #webdev #codeblr #wip #this site will happen i swear I SWEAR #AHHH #there so many things to help but after a certain point its like...i dont even know whats happening and now im confused #and god forbid things start conflicting with each other #so i just want something that will spell it out clearly #but yea if u see this and think im confused (which i might be)#im always open to links to videos

Somebody needs to go talk to the W3C and inform them that, frankly, the document metaphor is dead. Nobody* has made a webpage designed to be a page of hypertext in twenty years. It doesn't, hasn't, won't happen. We gotta find something better.

*Within a reasonable margin of error, and with exception to Wikipedia and similar projects

#its clear that what people want from html+css+js+backend is an MVC framework #but the current infrastructure just wasnt built for that #and so we are stuck with the current abomination of preprocessers and backend js and webasm and so on and so forth #my thoughts #programming

so today i messed around with react and managed to get this navbar working:

i looked at a tutorial the other day and tried to actually apply it to today....idk how to properly style the navbar so gonna try to figure it out next time if possible!

#so yea now i gotta learn more stuff hahahaha #on the brightside react looks really easy to work with once u start to get the hang of it #at least in comparison to what i was doing before!#and also i dont need my site to be super fancy right off the back #so im gonna just try to fix the navbar for a short while and then move to the next thing #which ig is the login page #the reason i started using react in the first place #my only issue is that the tutorial i used was really good but only the first part of it was free #and i dont have 150 dollars for a tutorial so.....#idk ig i have to look for another tutorial and hope its the same level of quality and also in typescript #cause the tutorial i was doing it in had it in typescript #also apparently its easier to write in than js....#anyways thats my progress today #see my character development from being reluctant about react to now being like...this is really useful #web development #codeblr #if yall have a good react tutorial that uses typescript...pls send it my way #im thinking ill have to start using next.js after this cause i need the backend stuff later #and it would save time ig??
