Film after film: Let the Sunshine In (dir. Claire Denis, 2017)

The first out of three (so far) collaborations between Denis and Binoche plays relatively simple. It's shot and narrated conventionally, which is only occasionally interrupted by a perched angle or a longer pause. The plot centers around Binoche and her encounters with several men, frustrating, emotionally draining, and yet somehow interesting and likely pleasant. I like to think of this film as one that both of them decided to make during one of the many development breaks in filming High Life.

“The house at 10550 Rocco Place in Bel Air came with an intercom system connected to the front gate which saved Priscilla from a jealous fan not long after we moved there. While Elvis and a few others guys were watching TV in the living room, I was in my bedroom near the kitchen. All of the sudden I hear Priscilla yelling over the intercom, “Sonny..Jerry... help!”

I bolted to the door, yelling at Elvis that Priscilla was in trouble.

When I got there, I saw a girl who appeared to be in her late teens and about 250 pounds grappling with Priscilla. When she saw me, the girl let go of Priscilla's hair and ran to her car, got in and locked the doors. Another guy and girl were in the car. I recognized Priscilla's antagonist - she was a regular who because of her size we called "Tiny." Later in the house, Priscilla told us that Tiny had followed her as she drove home and almost caused her to get into an accident. When Priscilla stopped at the gate, she confronted Tiny and demanded to know what she was doing.

Tiny called her a whore and even though she was small, no one was gonna talk to Priscilla like that. She promptly clocked Tiny with an uppercut.

After making sure Priscilla was fine, I ran up to Tiny's car and yelled through the rolled up window, “You'd better get your ass out of here now, because Elvis sees you, he won't like it!” Tiny's response was to stick out her tongue and start making faces at me. I really wanted her to scram because there was no telling how Elvis would react upon his imminent arrival.

His reaction was hot - he came pounding down the driveway, went right to Priscilla and asked if she was alright. “Yes, but that girl is big fat pig,” Priscilla replied and Elvis advanced on her car with a head full of steam, screaming, “You big, fat, no-good bitch!” then he began kicking the car and pounding his fists on the windshield, yelling at her to open the door.

Tiny stayed put and screamed back, “I'm underage! If you touch me, I'll sue!” Elvis was far past considering the legalities of the situation. He started looking around the roadway and I knew he wanted a rock to break the car window. Before he got hold of one, I screamed, “Get the hell out of here now or he's going to break that window and then that head of yours!” Luckily for her, Tiny started the car, hopped the curb and peeled away. We didn't see her for a long time but then she started showing up at the house on Monovale Drive. By then a regular, welcome visitor to the house was a woman named Pat Balasko, who was seriously into karate. Elvis called her “Karate Pat.”

When Tiny reappeared, Elvis asked Pat to have a talk with her. Tiny hadn't changed. She started shooting off her large, filthy mouth and then she made an even bigger mistake and tried to get physical with Karate Pat. Tiny ended up on the ground and Pat warned her that if she ever blotted our skyline again she would get it much worse. We never saw Tiny anymore, and Elvis presented Pat with a TLC necklace in gratitude.”

Les Enfoirés chantent Starmania

Les restos du coeur est une association d'aide alimentaire , créer par l'humoriste / comédien Coluche en 1985 ( avec pour parrain Daniel Balavoine ... ) Pour médiatisé et récolter plus facilement des dons, l'idée viendra à Coluche de créer un hymne chanter par des célébrités française pour son association :

Malgré la mort de Coluche en 1986 , l'association va survivre ( elle existe toujours aujourd'hui) et tout les ans un show est mis en scène et interprété par les artistes français bénévoles , que l'on appelle :

La Troupe des Enfoirés !

UN CHALET A GSTAAD

Nous sommes allés voir cette pièce au Théâtre des Nouveautés (24, Bld Poissonnière dans le IXe) mercredi soir. C’était le cadeau de Noël de nos neveux Maïlys et Jérôme.

Elle a eu tellement de succès qu’ont été programmées 50 représentations supplémentaires. Nous ne vous donnons aucune autre précision, elles affichent toutes complet.

Nous étions au premier rang Corbeille, face à la scène, les meilleures places de ce petit théâtre que nous ne connaissions pas du tout.

Evidemment la salle était pliée en deux. Tout le monde a beaucoup ri. Dans le contexte actuel, ça peut faire beaucoup de bien !...

Les photos ci-dessous ont été envoyées à nos neveux dès le baisser de rideau, avec bien sûr tous nos remerciements.

NB Nous ne serions jamais sortis ce jour-là s’il n’y avait pas eu ces places réservées. Il faisait à Paris un froid de gueux (-2, ressenti -4 degrés !). Arrivés un peu en avance, nous avons pris un délicieux chocolat viennois, à 2 pas du théâtre, au « Brebant » (Métro : « Grands Boulevards ») Quand nous en aurons l’occasion, nous retournerons dans cette Brasserie dont la Carte et le décor nous ont plu. A noter que les serveurs sont habillés en tenue traditionnelle de serveur… on aime bien, cela fait tout de suite très « brasserie chic parisienne » !

Le pitch

Quelques années après avoir enfilé les chaussures de ski de Nathalie Morin dans « Les Bronzés font du ski », Josiane Balasko reprend le chemin de la montagne avec sa nouvelle pièce hilarante « Un chalet à Gstaad » !

Françoise (Josiane Balasko) et Jean-Jacques Lombard, très riches exilés fiscaux dont la fortune repose sur les inventions du mari, s’apprêtent à recevoir un couple d’amis, Alicia et Grégoire Lagarde. Lui est un industriel fils à papa, Alicia est une aristocrate richissime et bête à manger du foin. Tout pourrait bien se passer, on est entre gens du monde (même si ce n’est pas forcément le même) si Alicia ne s’était entichée d’un coach spirituel, gourou sur les bords, qui les accompagne au dîner. Et forcément, le vernis va finir par craquer, surtout lorsque le gourou va leur annoncer le pire : leur fortune est menacée... et leur « pognon de dingue » pourrait bien partir en fumée.
