A/N: request from my wife @soraya-daydreams - this is almost crack I stg.
Summary: The kids try edibles. Yuuji - maybe went overboard.
CW: the kids do edibles, swearing, crackfic, one or two suggestive sentences idk. mdni shoo go away
“But where would we even get it? It’s not like I have many drug dealing contacts.” Nobara hisses, as the three first years discuss their plans in a secluded part of the grounds.
“Fushiguro - your parents would definitely know where to get some, why don’t we ask them?” Itadori pokes his boyfriend’s shoulder.
“Yeah they probably would, but they don’t do that shit anymore - Dad never could because of … all the eyes. Plus, with Akio being so young I don’t want them to have something to worry about if they start to fuss over us all smoking.” Megumi muses.
“Valid - when we started dating your Dad gave me lube and condoms and asked if I needed the sex talk, I think I died again that day.” Itadori nods, solemnly.
“Back to the issue at hand! Where do we obtain one bag of weed?” Nobara says, hands slapping the desk she sits at.
The three first years had decided that they wanted to do teenage stuff - since their lives were so crazy, Megumi was a potential heir for a large Sorcerer family and the son of the strongest sorcerers alive - Itadori was Sukuna’s vessel and Nobara was well on her way to a first grade, as well as the issues with being a young woman in sorcery. Because of their guardians (self-appointed) being as chill as they were, they didn’t really have anything to rebel against, so there was no point in sneaking out when they can just say where they are going with a ‘text when you get there’ from Y/N. There was no point in trying to sneak their parents alcohol, because there’s a ‘you can drink with us, or under our roof safely’ policy in place too. There was no secret dating, Itadori and Megumi were together already and Nobara… well, she hoped it wouldn’t be long before a certain Zen’in girl realised she was crazy about her. So that left smoking a joint, but Itadori said he had tried a cigarette before and hated it when he was at a party in school and Nobara didn’t want to smoke and stain her nails - so it was decided Yuuji would make brownies… special brownies.
“We could ask someone? Todo, maybe?” Yuuji suggests, before being answered with a unanimous ‘absolutely not’.
“I don’t know anyone else we could ask for weed from!” He responds, his sole idea shut down.
“You guys need weed?” A voice asks from behind them.
In the archway to the part of the garden stands a tall, beautiful woman with long blonde hair - holding a motorbike helmet under her arm and smiling.
Megumi thought he knew the woman from somewhere, photos maybe? Or was she at the wedding?
“Tsukomo-san! It’s - absolutely amazing to meet you!” Nobara says, shooting up from the bench.
“Wait - Yuki Tsukomo?! Who was Todo’s mentor?!” Yuuji adds.
“Ah, so you know that little knucklehead. Crazy kid, whole lotta balls I’ll tell ya that much. So - you guys need weed?” She says, leaning against the arch and shoving her hand into a pocket inside the jacket, before producing a small bag of greenery from inside.
“Eh! It’s - not what you think, we’re not - wait, is that weed? You have some?” Nobara asks.
“Sweetheart, I’ve travelled the world and back twice, of course I have some good - here, take this - share with the boys if you want.” She says, winking at Nobara who, for the first time in 6 months, swoons over someone who isn’t Maki Zen’in. Yuuji doesn’t fare much better.
She turns to leave, but gets caught by the sight of the boy beside Sukuna’s vessel.
“Holy shit, kid. Frightened the fuck outta me, fuckin’ clone of your old man.” She says, surveying him.
His head snaps to look at her.
“You knew him?” He asks.
“Yeah, cool guy - pretty fucked up, but still pretty cool. If ya ask me, you were way better off with the Jujutsu Royals - Y/N’s a badass, love that lil’ lady. The beanstalks alright, too - got some talent. She have the baby yet?” She asks, as she clips her bike helmet on.
“Um, yeah. He’s 10 months old now, just started walking.” He says, flabbergasted by this woman.
“Sick one, tell her good job from Yuki. Enjoy kids.” She says, and saunters away - and second later they hear the rumble of an engine.
The three are silent for a minute.
“What the fuck just happened?” Yuuji asks.
“Um… a special grade sorcerer just gave us a bag of weed.” Nobara says, equally as confused.
“I’m too tired for this shit. C’mon, let’s go inside.” He says, as they all begin making their way to the dorm rooms.
“Bone apple feet!”
Yuuji plops a plate of really delicious looking brownies down on the desk in front of his two fellow first years.
“So… do we just… eat a brownie each?” Nobara asks.
“Well, I made 6! So there’s 2 for each of us? Or we could ask the second years -” Yuuji is cut off.
“Ask the second years what?” Came the voice of Maki Zen’in from the doorway.
“Oh! Are they brownies?!” Panda asks, immediately making a beeline.
“They’re eh… special brownies.” Megumi nods.
“Shit - you kids make edibles?” Maki asks, a pleased smirk on her face.
“Do you guys want some?” Yuuji asks.
“Shake!” Inumaki says, sliding past Panda to grab a brownie as he turns away to pull his mask down and eat.
Maki looks at Nobara, who flushes and smiles, as Maki takes a seat on the bed beside her and takes 2 brownies - passing one to the flustered girl beside her.
Yuuji and Panda go next, each almost devouring their brownie in one bite - with Megumi taking his and deciding that you actually can’t taste the weed.
They all sit there for a few minutes.
“Yuuji - are you sure you put enough in? I’m not feeling anything?” Megumi asks, perplexed by the lack of effect.
“Well, I used the whole bag - but it was pretty small I guess.” They all just sit and chat together until out of the blue, a highly unusual sound comes from the corner of the room.
Inumaki was hysterically laughing at his phone, tears streaming down his face.
He spins the phone around, and immediately Maki and Megumi lose it laughing - true, belly shaking laughter from both the ex-Zen’in’s.
The video in question that made them all lose it was a man doing a voiceover on a video of a bird.
Maki’s laughter doesn’t seem to disturb the girl beside her, who - apparently within the last 30 seconds - passed out asleep, drooling on Itadori’s shoulder, and cuddling his arm.
Itadori on the other hand, had never looked so serious in his life. In his head, he was desperately trying to answer the universe’s biggest questions.
Are we alone in the universe? Is there other intelligent life? What is life, what are we here? Are human’s the true villains? Which Disney villain has the best fashion sense? Who closes the bus door after the driver gets off? Is this a simulation, am I being controlled by a greater being? What is God, was Ariana correct - is God a woman?
His mind was running through every profound thought a man could ever have, the universe’s question’s suddenly becoming his main goal and a quest only he can achieve.
Megumi’s interest in the multitude of videos that had Maki doing impressions of birds and Inumaki cackling had dwindled, growing distracted by the beautiful boy in front of him. Yuuji was so pretty, so perfect, so kind and so sexy. That thought flushed through his mind as the memories of times they had… ‘spent the night’ together made him giggle like a schoolgirl and flush bright red. He made his way over to Yuuji and sat himself on his lap, stroking his hair and pressing kisses to his cheeks.
“I love you, Yu - you’re so pretty. I wanna be your husband someday and I’ll help you make meatballs every night and we can get a dog.” Megumi started his enamoured rant, as he realised he’d never said these things out loud before and wondered why the hell hasn’t he? They’ve been dating for 4 months now, he must have just forgotten. He continued gushing over his boyfriend and pressing kisses to his nose and cheeks - Yuuji was externally smiling and had the Nobara free hand wrapped around his love’s waist but inside his mind was a whirlwind.
Is the s or the c in scent the silent letter? How does glue not stick to the bottle? What is colour? How many holes does a straw have? Is this real - am I real?
Panda, on the other hand - had never felt more paranoid in his life. This room, eyes everywhere. They we’re watching him, the walls we’re watching him. He abruptly stood up and stumbled to the door, and tried the handle.
It didn’t budge.
(It was just locked, he just needed to slide the lock.)
He tried again.
Nothing.
By now he was panicking and pulling at the door with all his might. He was Panda - he will not be imprisoned! So he did the only thing he knew and slammed his way through the door. It flew off its hinges and lay in two pieces on the hallway floor.
In the corridor, looking at a cheering Panda, running away and chanting ‘freedom’ - stood a tall, white haired man and his wife.
They just exchanged looks with each other before poking their heads into Nobara’s dorm room - where they had originally planned to knock.
They both surveyed the scene in front of them for a moment, before you just whispered:
“What the fuck…?” Your voice alerted the kids who all immediately froze.
“Is this opposites day? What’s going on here, kiddos?” Satoru asks, leaning against the wall.
“Nothing! Nothing is going on! We’re just - we’re having a girl’s night!” Yuuji spouted.
“Yeah! A girl’s night.” Megumi agreed.
As you both looked at all of them, you poked Satoru and pointed to your eyes - desperately trying not to laugh. The red eyes and droopy faces and flushed cheeks were painfully obvious and highly recognisable from your school days.
The kids were high as shit.
“Oh - what are you all doing?” Satoru says, thoroughly enjoying torturing them all.
“We’re eh - Nobara and I - we’re talking about boys! Crushes on boys and things. Penis talk.” Maki tries to explain.
Inumaki can’t deal with this and can’t hold back his laughter as Maki says ‘penis talk’ he loses his mind and flops laughing onto the desk.
“Maki honey, you’re a lesbian.” You say, and she raises her eyebrows - forgetting the ultimate flaw to her excuse being that she has no more interest in penis possessing men than she does going on a date with a curse.
“Also - Nobara doesn’t look like she’d make for a great conversation right now.” Satoru smirks, looking at the slightly snoring Kugisaki.
“Yuuji? Megumi?” You say, excited to hear what they say.
“I am doing homework! Studying, learning about eh - curses.” Yuuji says, picking up a blue object from beside him.
“Oh? I didn’t think you could do homework on a Nintendo Switch?” Satoru can’t help it now, the frantic excuses might be the highlight of his week.
“I do my homework beside a switch everyday.” Megumi says, smirking a provocative smile and pinching his boyfriend’s cheek.
That’s the final straw for you and Satoru who can’t help it anymore and the dam breaks.
You fall into him, head in his chest as he almost collapses from crippling laughter as you all survey the whacked out teenagers.
“Shit, ‘toru - were we all the obvious?” You ask, wheezing.
“God no - you guys were way better, how high are you?!” He asks, tears falling from behind his blindfold.
“I’m 5ft 11 inches.” Megumi says, smiling brightly and patting the top of his head.
That sets you both off again.
“Oh fucking hell, this has gotta be edibles.” You say, trying to catch your breath.
“That’s a fun word - isn’t it, edibles? ED - IB - LES. edi-bles. Wait - am I saying that right? Hold on, am I talking or is this in my head?” Maki considers.
Megumi stands up at this point, and puts a hand each on you and Satoru’s shoulders.
“Mom. Dad. You guys - you guys. You’re awesome. I love you both, Mom you are so badass and scary and you give the best cuddles and shit! You made a baby a while ago and then like? You can make flowers kill people? That’s so awesome. Dad you’re like, an idol, you’re so cool and it’s so fun that you have so many eyes, you’re like a spider! And I like your fancy hair.” He says, before throwing his arms around you both and hugging you tight into him.
Who the fuck was this kid?
You pet his head and thank him, and Satoru says that you both love him too - and that he also likes his fancy hair as he desperately tries not to laugh.
You notice Yuuji is deep in thought.
“You okay, Yuu?” You ask.
He looks at you, the most contemplative look you’ve ever seen on anyone.
“Is a gingerbread man made of house? Or is a gingerbread house made of flesh?” He asks, eyes wide with realisation.
You and your husband sit on the bed, megumi curling back up in Yuuji’s lap as Maki and Toge continue cackling over videos of dumb animals.
You settle in, Satoru’s arm around you.
There’s no way in hell you’re missing this show.

Y/n traced her hands over the tattoos that adorned her arms. There were only a couple of things, a pretty paint brush, a inari mask, and a little tattoo of food. They were pretty little things, beautifully made, and Y/n often spent time tracing them, running her fingers over the intricate designs admiring them. Her eyes often drifted to them when she was at her worst, when tears ran down her face, when she never thought she would meet her soulmate. They brought her more comfort than anything ever could, for some reason.
On one particular day, she felt worse than ever, and she did what she always did. She looked at them.
Her boyfriend had lied to her. Said they were soulmates. Made tattoos to look like the hobbies and things Y/n loved. And today she had found out that they weren’t meant to be.
“Seriously, Akio? Why would you lie to me?” she cried, not even daring to look him in the eyes. Her legs were shaking, and she had attempted to control her breathing, but it was to no avail.
“Because Y/n! I love you! You're all that I need!” he said, grabbing her arms, digging his nails into her wrists. Y/n was scared and sad, and she didn’t know what to do, so she did the only thing she could. She fought. She withered around his arms, flailing her legs, screaming- begging to be let free, for him to leave her alone, and finally after landing a blow on his shin, he dropped her, anger filling his face. And so she ran, faster than she ever had.
And now she was in a park. Flower petals drifted around her as she sat on the bench with her legs tucked up against her chest. The tears had stopped, at least. She had to figure out the situation. Her boyfriend- ex boyfriend, had been crazy. She always knew that, but it had been manageable before. Now? She saw who she really was. And she wanted nothing to do with him. What had once been love, had quickly turned to something much different.
She watched people pass late into the afternoon, sleep slowly taking over her, making her head heavier than it was before. But she knew she couldn’t sleep in public, she would be too vulnerable, so she moved to get up.
“Please! Go back to your original position! It was stunning…Extraordinary, even!” said a voice. She froze, moving her head to the side, to see a man, not much older looking than her. He was beautiful, stunning, even from a distance.
“E-excuse me?” she stuttered, looking him in the eyes. She moved her eyes to look down at the things surrounding him, a paint kit, a pencil, and a canvas, along with some water. “Are you..drawing me?” she said, hesitantly. His eyes lit up, and he nodded.
“Of course! I couldn’t let such stunning beauty go to waste!” he said. His voice was deep, and his tone was formal, and something about it struck her in the heart. So she turned back into her original position, and he quickly got back to work. She hadn’t noticed the sounds of pencil before, but now it was prominent to her. She looked around. The park was quite a sight, flower petals flowing through the air, the scent of honey all around her. Her eyes drifted to her tattoos, as they often do. a pretty paint brush, a inari mask, and a little tattoo of food. They were so familiar to her, something she had known for her whole life. The pretty paint brush was her favorite.
The paint brush.
She quickly turned her head over to the male sketching out her form, and she looked at the paint brush he had with his painting kit. They were the same. She tried to run it off as a coincidence, but the more she started at it, the more she felt she was right. So she stood up, much to the male's discontent, and sat down in front of him.
“Your arm..can I see it?” she asked softly. He stared at her, confusion written all over his face, so she showed him her arm.
a pretty paint brush, a inari mask, and a little tattoo of food. His eyes widened, big dark blue iris’s flashing in the light. He slowly pulled out his arm.
A tattoo of your favourite things were there, decorating his pale smooth skin. You looked back up from his arm to his eyes. And he looked right back at you, his eyes full and content. Slowly a smile grew on his pretty face, as he took your hand, and placed a kiss against your knuckles.

Tidus goes to the Spirit world
This happens a day 2 weeks after Rinoa talked to him and after camp spilt up.
Tidus sat on his work out bench staring at a picture he had of him and Yuna. God she was so pretty. How long now had they been broken up? 200 years? Maybe more. Tidus’s sense of time was pretty skewed due to his schizophrenia. He sighed. His appointment with Akio was in 20 minutes and he really didn’t want to go. Having to tell him he had his first hallucination in 5 months really made him uncomfortable. He really coulda swore he talked to Rinoa, he swore he smelled her perfume even. He wanted to ask her but knew if he did he would just look fucking nuts and he didn’t want it going around he was hallucinating again. What if Yuna found out? She did seem to be casually talking to him more. Not that they hung out but exchanges in the kitchen and what not.
He placed the photo back in its box with all the other photos he had of them and of various friends. He gazed thoughtfully at the photo on top of him and Aerith at Disneyland. He missed her. She would know what to say. She had been much better since Sasuke and her got back together. Fuck if he knew why but guess you love who you love.
Wait Aerith. Spirit World. Oh my god was he an idiot. They couldn’t stop him from going there and while there he could contact Aerith! He banged his hand on his head.
He would go to his appointment and then go to contact her. Probably best not to tell Akio this. He didn’t know the rules of all that but better to not mention it in case it was shut down somehow.
He made his way to Akios office. As usual a diffuser was running, it smelled like lavender oil today. Tidus wondered if he used different scents for certain patients or just only stuck with calming ones like chamomile or ylang ylang.
“Hello Tidus good to see you, have a seat.”
Tidus maneuvered over to couch where he usually sat. Akio had two different ones and a comfy chair. Usually Akio just sat on his desk chair while talking but today he went and sat on the nice satin chair closer to the couch. He smiled warmly at Tidus. “So how have you been?”
“Oh well I been really good, been working out everyday, took a run the other day with Rock Lee. He knows how to keep a good pace and helps to have someone who doesn’t tire because it pushes me you know?”
Akio jotted down some notes. “Alright and how has your sleep been lately?”
“Oh its been good.”
“Okay and appetite? Making sure to get enough calories in you with all the working out?”
“Oh yeah been drinking lots of protein stuff Zack left around here.” Tidus had been going back to counting calories and had stopped eating as much last few days but nothing Akio needed to know.
“Well you do look a lot healthier these days, any issues with medication?”
Tidus knew this question was coming, best to be honest but god damn he really thought he was doing great. He looked down at his hands before speaking.
“Well yea they were but,” Tidus paused to start picking at a string loose in the couch. Sighing again he continued “I think I had a hallucination the other day of talking to Rinoa.”
“To Rinoa you say?” Akio jotted down more. “And what was this conversation about?”
“She was asking me all these questions about the dark back . Ignatio or whatever its called.”
Akio paused his writing and looked up at the security camera and then back at Tidus. He seemed uncomfortable and shifted in his chair.
Tidus noticed and wondered if maybe he didn’t hallucinate and she also asked Akio.
“Did you talk to you too?” Tidus inquired.
“No she didn’t but I have heard she was asking people, I doubt this was a hallucination, why do you believe it was?”
“Well I was talking to her and then all of a sudden she vanished. I looked all over my room but she wasn’t there I saw her later and was going to ask but she just asked me what I was looking at.”
“Hmmm” Akio jotted down some more notes. “Well I am not sure about that, did you tell her anything?”
“Umm no not really, she can be pushy you know but I tried not to say much. I am not supposed to talk about it.”
“No you are not and it would be wise to ignore Rinoa, I can ask her if she did speak with you if it makes you feel better to see if she did.” Akio stood up and clapped his hands. Nervously looking at the camera again. “Okay well thats it for today.”
Tidus was confused usually these appointments went a lot longer, but well he did want to see Aerith so he wasn’t gonna push it. “Okay well I gonna go and yea if you could ask Rinoa that be cool.”
Akio smiled “Okay well I send your script over to Memo to fill.”
I think to give Memo more things to do and she was really non-intimidating they started having her be the pharmacist. It used to be J and Harry but they always made mean comments and Tidus suspected they switched his medication for placebos just for their own sick amusement.
“Okay yea cool.”
Tidus walked from the room looking back at Akio who had moved to his computer and was quickly typing.
Tidus walked back to his bedroom but on the way he noticed Yuna in the kitchen drinking tea and eating what looked like Thai food. She made really good Thai food, they had a similar diet in Besaid with also a lot of seafood. He paused before making his entrance and pretended to look in the fridge. Yuna looked up and smiled. “Hello if your hungry I made some food its on the stove if you would like any.”
“Oh yea that sounds good.” Tidus grabbed a bowl and filled up the seafood pad thai. Even though he really did want some “accidental” thigh touching, he sat across from her. This way they could talk easier.
She smiled again and continued to use chopsticks to eat.
“So um how you been Yuna?”
“Oh I have been really well, been hanging with Paine more, shes so funny! Makes me laugh so much!”
Tidus didn’t really find Paine funny but usually he was at the butt of her jokes so perhaps that was why. He had a small paranoia about her making jokes about him and Yuna laughing at them but let it slide.
Yuna continued. “We went to the beach the other day, you know how much I love it there, and built the biggest sand castle with Tifa and Gaara!” She giggled. “Gaara used his ninjutsu to make so many intricate patterns ! So pretty!” She dug around herself and pulled out her phone to show him some pictures of it. It really was magnificent.
Tidus smiled in what he hoped looked really cute and did the right compliments to all the pictures she showed him.
“Maybe we can go to the beach sometime.” He blurted a little too desperately for his taste.
She set down her phone and looked at him a second. Oh fuck shes going to say no why the fuck would I ask that? God stupid Tidus stupid stupid.
Instead she smiled, god he loved her smile which lucky for him she did it often. :
“Yea I would like that.”
“Cool its a date !” Fuck why did he say word date, she didn’t seem to notice though and drank her tea calmly. Just then Colin walked in and immediately helped himself to some food. Why the fuck did he have to walk in Tidus really felt he was making headway well least they had a day to hang out together in the future. Hopefully she wouldn’t want to bring any of her friends, which seemed to be half of camp.
“Oh this is marvelous I say!” Colin said after his first bite. “Top notch I do say!’ He smelt really bad he musta just come from his wolf form.
As they began to make small talk Tidus slowly exited the kitchen dumping most of the food he had just served back into the pan. He got two bites of it and he felt pretty good about that.
“Okay well see ya.”
Yunas mouth was full so she gave a small nod to acknowledge his departure. While Colin gave an exclaimed wave saying see ya mate. Tidus walked back to his room giddy. Going through all his clothes to find an outfit for their future outing.
(side note this is the outfit he picked out
https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Tidus/Gallery?file=DFF2015_Ace_Striker_B.png)
He walked around cleaning his room and brushed his hair four different times before he remembered he wanted to see Aerith.
He wondered what the best way to go to spirit world without raising suspicion he knew they were always watched so he couldn’t just disappear, again maybe if he did they wouldn’t notice. He sat a while contemplating. He decided to climb under his bed to transport. He did this somewhat frequently when he was upset so he didn’t think it would be too outta character. He focused in on the spot he wanted and pop! He looked around at the flowers around him. Aeriths spirit world flower garden was gorgeous. So many types of flowers you couldn’t grow on Earth were scattered around. He found a batch of dirt to sit on to summon Aerith.
Aerith was in her greenhouse looking very disrupted as someone had torn out the weed plant she was growing. People kept asking her to grow it and every time it got big it went missing. She couldn’t understand why someone would ask you to grow something just to rip it up. She felt a ting in her head. Clasping her hands she looked up. She felt the humming in her. She focused her mind in and appeared 30 feet from Tidus in between some flower beds.
“Tidus!” She jumped up clapping her hands. Tidus maneuvered his way to her and they hugged. They tore apart and walked to a near by bench holding hands.
Aerith chatted away filling him in on the greenhouse situation as Tidus nodded at the right moments. They sat down and Tidus allowed her to finish before speaking.
“So hey I just needed to talk to you and I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing this earlier!”
“Oh me either! Have you spoke to Sasuke! I shoulda brought his gift! Hold on a second!” she disappeared and 5 minutes later popped back up holding what could only be described as a really ugly flower hat. Tidus grabbed it and tried to fake enthusiasm of how cute this was. He was actually generally afraid of how Sasuke would react to him giving him this. He stuffed it in his pocket.
“So Aerith I just needed to talk to you and well I figured this would be the only way and probably the safest way ya know?”
Aerith had maneuvered over to some flowers to tend and gave him a small mhm so Tidus continued.
“Well its just Rinoa, least I think Rinoa, was asking me questions about ya know the dark place.”
“Oh wow yes everyones so interested in that, Sasuke told me not to bother with it.”
“Yea well i don’t know it just got me thinking about it and like maybe shes right that well something is going on, I just cant shake the feeling something really bad is going to happen.”
“Hmm yea I believe Christian and Aiden are planning something.”
Tidus was taken aback it always surprised him how much Aerith knew. She generally just didn’t really see mentioning it as it was beyond what she felt like talking about. Much better things like flowers and her new hobby of crocheting were much more interesting.
“How do you know that?”
“Well I heard Sasuke talking to them about it and threatening them with keeping me out of it.”
(Time at park they failed to see Aerith had broken into the school because she saw a house plant that needed watering and spied from the window at them)
“But well keep you out of what?”
(At this time back on earth J is getting highly blazed with Paine and Natsu lets peek in on this for a second.)
Natsu was doing a really bad rap where he said nigger every other word thinking that made me sound gangster.
Natsu stopped when he saw door open “Oh fuck.”
J and Paine turned their heads to see Ulquiorra standing in the doorway.
Natsu shittily tried to hide the bong but ended up knocking it off the table instead and sitting himself in front of it to keep it hidden from view with a nonchalant look
“J step outside a minute will you?” Ulquiorra's voice was calm but J could sense he was extremely upset. Ulquiorra talking to him was never a good sign.
J followed him out the door, if he had a dick he woulda pissed himself a bit.
“So is your job not to monitor camp and keep people in line?”
Fuckfuckfuck what did someone do J thought.
“And do I not let you have this position and allow you and that ingrade Harry to do your “activities” and “drugging” because you have this position?”
J mumbled a mhm while looking at Ulquiorra's feet.
Quickly Ulquiorra grabbed Js chin so hard his clay molded around Ulquiorra's hand.
“Tidus has made the brilliant plan to go to the spirit world to talk with Aerith, if you happened to be by your monitors or checking the tablet I so graciously provided you, you would have seen his disappearance from camp.”
J recalled his tablet sitting under the table in his room where he had left it this morning. Whoops.
“Find him now” Ulquiorra shoved J against the wall and walked away briskly, his jacket swirling in the process.
Fuck J you really did it this time. Ever since that cunt Rinoa started asking a lot of questions Ulquiorra had been extra vigilant on having J monitor people. He now had several alerts that popped on the screen when people mentioned certain words. He should really ask Ulquiorra for one of those apple watches so he could be wearing something. He decided to ask for that later. He sighed and transported himself to the spirit office. He didn’t know where they would be but the office kept tabs on who was where in it and they would know. It was a DMV type of building. J grabbed his number and sat down. He was number 7840 . He heard 7129 getting called out. Fuck this wasn’t good. He found a magazine and started paging through the local properties available for purchase in the area
Flashing back now to Aerith and Tidus.
“Well something about going down there and getting her and sorta stuff like that, quite frankly it sounded really scary. I asked Sasuke about it later but he told me not to worry my pretty little brain about it.”
“Whose her?”
“Hmm” was all Aerith said tending some weeds that were choking her magnolias
Tidus racked his brain, who would be down there that they would need to save. In a stroke of genius he blurted out “It must be Christians mom! Whatever happened to her she must have some how ended up there!”
Aerith seemed really disinterested in this topic and wanted to ask about Sasuke but decided to let Tidus go on a bit. “Oh yes that makes sense! Of course Christian would want to see his mom!”
Tidus contemplated more. Why would he need Aiden though? Maybe cause Aiden had been down there? He knew the only reason Aiden was able to get out of there was Christian but he wasn’t really sure how.
“Hey how did Aiden get out of the dark place?”
“Hmm” Aerith said looking up “Oh it was because of Virgo, I believe he used him and thats why he needed to seal him in Noah.”
Tidus once again was taken aback on Aeriths knowledge of things. Why did everyone call her a bimbo? Tidus never thought that but he did know she was very unfocused on what most people thought of as “important” issues.
“How do you know all that?”
“Oh I just do.” Tidus wished she would be more specific with this but decided to stay on topic.
“But that guy is so evil and how could he take him out of Noah and you know do that again to what retrieve his mom? And didn’t Aiden go there by choice? Christians mom died so wouldn’t ya know it be harder to get her?”
(J was now up to 7354 being called out and was watching with little interest the news about how the Dream team junior soccer team won the quarter finals.)
“Oh yes very hard but I don’t think its Christians mom they are after.”
“Well then who would it be?”
“Oh I assume Jenn.”
“But Jenn is here!”
“No shes not Jenn, shes just a ghost of Jenn.”
Tidus grabbed his head shaking it. Aerith must somehow be able to sense that Jenn isn’t alive. She had that ability.
“Why haven’t you mentioned this before? Like Jenn being dead?”
“Oh it never got brought up.”
Once again Aeriths priorities put Tidus at a lost.
“So if Jenn is just what like a puppet of what she was they want to have the real Jenn back?” Tidus thought a moment. “Do  you think thats why no matter what Aiden does Jenn is still with him? I always thought it was strange how much she put up with, like shes blind with love.”
“Yeah I don’t like Jenn so I don’t talk to her. Do you know what Sasuke is playing now? I wanna make him a video game character but thought it be best to do it for one he’s playing”
“Umm I don’t know we really don’t talk.”
“Well can you ask him when you give him that hat?” Aerith had moved flower beds and was fluffing the dirt around flowers she sensed needed a bit of extra care.
“Yea sure I can ask.” Tidus began thinking of how to do that without Sasuke hurting him before remembering they were talking of Jenn.
“Hey but like how could they get her? Didn’t they mention some mission going down there? Is that why we were split up because Ulquiorra knows something and doesn’t want us all together so we can’t go on the mission?”
“Oh no I don’t believe Ulquiorra knows exactly what is happening but he knows something was being planned. I really wish they would stay out of it so camps can come back together.”
(J just hit the 7732, was getting closer.)
“How can Ulquiorra not know? I mean he must!” Tidus insisted.
Aerith paused from what she was doing and walked over to Tidu. Tidying her dress, she sat down.
“He knows what they said of retrieving a stone is true and he very much wants it he has wanted it for so long, and he believes he can have us get it.” She sighed and began straightening out Tidus’s shorts. “That part Sasuke told me, which I believe Itachi told him. I think thats why they have gathered us.”
“But we have had this same group for like forever now why now do they want it?”
“I am unsure, I think you should talk to Sasuke.”
Tidus huffed “No way Sasuke is going to talk to me.”
Aerith hmmed a bit and stared out at garden “I wish the sun would come back I have so many plans for the side yard this year, I gonna do irises again those looked pretty.”
(J just hit his number and was talking to a bored worker slowly looking up their location as J held in screaming at them to hurry it the fuck up)
Tidus seemed put off by her response so she grabbed his hand “Oh Tidus don’t worry no matter what happens we will be fine, I don’t believe for a minute Ulquiorra or Itachi or even Yorichi will have us do anything that hurts any of us.”
“What makes you think they care that much about us.”
“I just know, oh look its J”
J strolled up with an extra large frown on his face. His clay was still a bit outta sorts from where Ulquiorra grabbed him almost looked like he had a chin.
He screeched out them “YOU NEED TO GET BACK TO CAMP RIGHT NOW THIS IS NOT ALLOWED NO NO NO NO” (he said the no’s in voice mom does when shes really mad.)
“Okay sheesh don’t blow a gasket.” Tidus stood up and helped Aeirth up. They did a long hug with J screaming in background to get a move on.
“So lovely seeing you Tidus, give Sasuke my hat and one of these.” She kissed Tidus’s cheek.
“MMMMM AHHHHHH LETS GOOOO!!!”
Tidus closed his eyes and visualized his room where he messed up the spot he wanted to land and rolled his ankle landing by his chair.  He had forgotten he reorganized after Rinoa disappeared on him.
He laid down in his bed going over all he just learned. If Jenn wasn’t real was anyone else here not? He shoulda asked Aerith. Was he real? He reached in his pocket and turned the hat over his hands. He saw the outfit he had laid out. Right he had a date with Yuna! They didn’t have a date set though. He threw the hat on his desk to deal with later and brought out a picture of Yuna imagining all the fun they would have at the beach.

˖just us together˖
✧˖ mitsuya takashi x fem reader
✧˖ fluff to angst, wrong grammar
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
takashi’s not a jealous type boyfriend, he’s calm as the sea
but.. when he knew that some boy is courting you and forcing you to leave takashi he became mad asf.
you didn’t tell him but you didn’t want the guy who’s courting you too, the guy is too pushy, and brutal.
you didn’t wanna tell that to mitsuya cause you two have been ignoring each other since last 3 days ago, you became not-yourself lately cause of what he said to his friends at the school parking lot.
- 3 days ago // school parking lot -
as you kept walking to the school parking lot you heard mitsuya ranting to his friends saying,, “no, it’s just that.. she’s so clingy lately, i don’t want that cause i have other priorities right? i have mana and luna, the toman, i have this! the school i want to maintain my grades,” as he said that his friend scoffed and said “oh c’mon man! your not saying your girlfriend’s a burden after 2 years of relationship, ... are you?” mitsuya just sigh and said “i don’t know but i love-” he was cut out of his other friends by saying “you love y/n or that shiba girl?”
.... what?
your world stopped as you heard that.
‘ what? what does he mean by that? no.. no no no they’re just friends.. right?’ you thought as you ran away and talk to your friend akio, she’s your verryyyyy besstttt frieeeendddd (and ofc emma)
- present -
as you walking near by the school parking lot you saw yuzuha and mitsuya sitting on the bench,, but you can’t hear them
but then again you were shocked as mitsuya stood up and kissed yuzuha’s forehead and waved good bye with a warm smile..
‘ could it be that he’s cheating?- no.. NO! HE WON’T DO THAT TO ME OF COURSE!’ you thought scolding yourself so you just went home crying at your bed..
you heard takashi’s voice outside so you tried to hide but he already caught you..
“c’mon princess, i know you’re out there.. talk to me, let’s talk about this.”
but you were still upset, you hated him, so so much.
so you didn’t open the gate for him but.. you forgot you gave him a key to your apartment so he came in (girl is stupid asf)
as he opened your room door he sat on your bed and kissed your forehead like he did to yuzuha, you were confused
“c’mon princess tell me, what’s our problem? i wanna fix us.”
he said while you scoffed then rolled your eyes and took your phone and lie down again..
“...”
“...?”
“why are you ignoring me princess?, did i do something wrong?”
“ ok takashi. ask that yourself, orrr.. im going to ask something.. are you cheating on me and find me annoying by getting clingy sometimes? sure call me your personal burden but what about yuzuha? why do you have time for that girl and not for your own girlfriend? tell me.”
“...” he was silent. didn’t expect that to happen
“and now you’re giving me silent treatment?” you scoffed
“baby-” his tears fell and his head fell on your soft shoulders
“baby, im sorry, but no i did’t mean when i said that i hate that your being clingy, im sorry i know it’s part of or close to cheating but trust me, yuzuha and me aren’t a thing your not a burden, im just really upset that day. im sorry.”
he said while crying..
“princess please don’t leave me”
“taka, who said i’ll leave you? i won’t, never. i promise that i was just mad about you and yuzuha, you knew i’m always jealous when it comes to girls being so close with you, except for mana, luna and your mom of course.”
he cupped your cheecks and said “ tell me is that what’s bothering you now darling? yuzuha?”
“ye-”
“ then i’ll try to distance myself from her, i don’t want her to be the reason of our relationship getting ruined right? baby?”
“mhm, m’ sorry taka-chan i didn’t tell you my problem so  it became bigger, and im sorry for being too clingy i didn’t mean it i swear i’ll try to-”
“no. don’t try finishing that sentence. i love you it was a mistake telling someone that i hate you being clingy. it’s a mistake princess i like- no i love you being who you are with me. i love my princess”
“i love you too taka”
“remember it’s not yuzuha and me. no it’s just us together”

For Kauri and Chris: it doesn't work as well as you hoped, does it?
(follows Time Apart)
CW: Former pet whumpee, past noncon references, fucky headspace around consent and SERIOUSLY misconstrued response to assault, some hardcore angst going on here, internalized victim-blaming
Chris feels fingers move through his hair, gently sweeping the shaggy copper to one side, and opens his eyes to see Kauri leaning over him. His wide blue eyes are warm, understanding.
"I saw Laken leave," Kauri says, gentle, and sits next to where Chris has curled up on his side on his bed. His fingers continue to run through Chris's hair, tingling over his scalp, a soft and subtle reassurance, words he doesn't have to hear. You are good, you are a good boy. "You want to tell me what happened?"
Chris closes his eyes again, turning his face to his sheets, to the faint scent of laundry detergent and the soft rustle of them against his skin. He tries not to see Laken's face, reddened and wet with tears, as they walked away. "We, we broke up."
Kauri's fingers pause - and then start up again, the moment so barely-there that even Chris almost misses it. "You broke up? Did they break up with you, or you with them?"
"Um. I, I, I thought they broke up with, um, with with me but then when they came over, they hadn't? But we just-... I, I broke... I broke up with them." His voice trembles, throat threatening to close up around the words, and he exhales, rocking himself forward and back where he lays, rubbing his hands reflexively over the seams of his pants, seeking out the soothing feeling of the texture there. "I told them I, I, I can't be with them anymore. I made them go."
This can't be the end, Chris. Not like this. Laken looked like he'd slapped them, their face pale and red both at once, eyes wide, dark pools demanding he take it back. This can't be the end of the line for us.
Then, then, then what is? Just, just go. I don't-... I don't, don't, don't want this any longer, for you. You shouldn't-... I, I, I'm... just go home, Laken. You shouldn't, shouldn't have, have wanted a whore anyway.
Chris. You know you're not-
I know I am! I, I, I almost had-... I almost-... I almost cheated on you last night!
Laken had swallowed, lips barely moving. You what?
I let, I, I, I let someone touch me, and it felt good, you know? It felt good. I, I, I got-... I, I got turned on by it. Like a fucking- He'd heard Handler Petrus in his mind, felt him against his back, the weight and heat of him, whispering into his ear while he sobbed. I'm still just a fucking slut. I'm, I'm, I'm still what I was, and it won't ever stop and-... just fucking go, Laken! Just get out and, and, and and and and-... and, and-
Chris, please-
Just fucking go home!
Chris-... baby, god damn it, I don't care if you-
But I do! Get the fuck away from me!
They'd left. Chris had listened to their footsteps running down the stairs and out the door, heard their car pull out of the driveway, and he'd cried into his pillow until it was damp, until he couldn't hear their car any longer. His phone buzzed twice, a text from Ben and another one from Akio, but he didn't answer.
He didn't answer when they called after that.
He didn't answer Jake calling to him from downstairs, he didn't answer Antoni in the doorway, he didn't answer any of them at all. He just stayed right here, on his bed, and knocked his head into a pillow he held against the wall until he calmed down enough to stop.
And then he cried more.
His head pounds, a dull throb, and he feels dried out from all the tears. Like he'd been crusted with salt, like his professor who told the story about Lot's wife and Orpheus and Eurydice. Don't look back or you'll turn to salt, you'll go back down into the empty places alone.
He can't not look back.
He groans, smacking himself on the thighs reflexively, repeatedly, as if he can stop his thoughts that way.
Kauri doesn't try to stop him, only pulls his hand back to give Chris the space to move. "Did you want to break up with them?" He asks, simply. His voice is calm.
"No. Yes. I, I don't know." The seams of his pants aren't enough, and Chris breathes against the sense of a chaos inside of himself, a swirling mix of self-hatred and grief. His hands move up to tap on his stomach. Finger-twist-tap-tap-tap. It doesn't help as much as he needs it to. "I didn't... want them to, to, to have to be with me."
"I think Laken is capable of making that choice for themself." Kauri sits slowly back against the headboard, breathing out, his eyes moving over the messy contents of the bedroom. The pictures Chris has taped haphazardly up on the walls, the shelf with his stim toys on it, his computer on the desk half-buried in a pile of clean clothes he hasn't folded. "If they want to be with you, that's their decision. Do you want to be with them?"
Chris wants to say yes, but the word sticks in his throat. His heart pounds inside him, all out of rhythm. He just nods against his sheets, and feels Kauri brush fingers through his hair again. "But, but, but, but I'm, I'm not worth it, I'm t-too hard, I'm still a, a, a pet too much."
There's a silence. Then, "Is that what you really think?"
He'd love to be able to say no. He'd love to be able to say he's being dramatic. But instead, in a small, soft voice, Chris whispers, "I just. I just. I, I, I don't know a-any-anymore. I... Yes."
Kauri is quiet, and then his hands are on Chris's face, wiping away with his thumb a tear Chris hadn't even realized had escaped. Chris had flinched from the same gesture when Laken did it, but he holds for Kauri.
"Oh, honey. I used to think that, too." Kauri sighs, and Chris opens his eyes, looking up at him, seeing a faraway expression.
He shifts, moving to rest his head on Kauri's thigh, a silent request for the petting through his hair to begin again.
Kauri smiles, a little faintly, a little sad. His fingers move over Chris's scalp, settle over the top of his scar, start again. "I did that for years, Chris. I told myself I was a pet, just another Romantic, that I deserved everything I did to myself and I didn't deserve anything better. I woke up in alleyways and on park benches and sometimes in the beds of guys I couldn't remember meeting. I got... I got hurt by some of them, and I told myself it was what I wanted. I got drugged a few times, I drugged myself a bunch more. I tried to make myself not want to be cared about anymore."
Chris thinks about the taste of gin and olives down his throat, throwing back dirty martinis until he threw them back up again, until he couldn't stop hearing Sir's voice inside his head, feeling his lips against the back of his neck. Hands on his hips, phantom ghost touch, moving him into position.
"It... didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Every time I told myself I didn't deserve love, even when I believed it... that didn't mean I didn't still want it. Need it, even. But I wanted, so badly-..." Kauri's voice catches, and his eyes close, briefly, as he steadies himself. "I wanted to make sure everyone around me hated me as much as I hated myself. But God, Chris, it hurts so much to live that way. Don't... don't be like me. It took me years to realize I didn't deserve that pain, that I didn't deserve to be punished for leaving Owen."
Chris is silent, now. Kauri's voice is always almost hypnotizing, deep and a little melodic, and it settles some of the buzzing awful noise inside of him.
"I had to learn-... to accept... that what happened to me makes up a lot of who I am, because it was the thing that made me, but it isn't all of who I am. And if I keep repeating the patterns I came up with to protect myself... I'm not really protecting myself at all." Kauri smiles, a little. "I'm only laying siege to myself, and I'm the only one who starves inside the walls. I-... I built those walls, and Jake kept trying to knock them down, and I kept building them higher. And Nat would throw food over the wall, and I'd throw it back. And... I think I got a little off track. My point is that... is that I shattered myself, over and over again, because shattered is what I was taught to be. But eventually I had to admit that breaking myself into pieces was just cutting me up, not anyone else. Do you understand?"
Chris swallows, his throat opening a little bit, and he hums. Kauri's leg is warm against his ear and his cheek, his hand is warm over his hair. Chris grips onto the silicone feather he wears always on a cord around his neck and runs it over his lips, feeling the carved vanes move against thin, sensitive skin. "Kind of."
"You try to see the light in everything," Kauri says, and the love in his voice makes Chris smile despite all his pain. "That's always been what made you stronger than me, Chris. You saw the world as full of good things you were here to discover. You never hated yourself like I did. I don't want you to start now."
"How... how did you, um, did you learn to to to stop?"
Another long exhale. Outside, two birds are singing in the trees. "Time, mostly," Kauri says, finally. "And... that guy I went home with once, when I came back all... fucked up. Remember that?"
"Y, yeah."
"I realized... I realized, when Jake was helping me up the stairs, that every time I tried to push him away, he was still there. And every time I hurt him, or Nat, or Antoni, they were still there. And that you were-... you were so new, Chris, and I was teaching you this really awful idea that you can't get better, and I couldn't do that any longer. I couldn't. It's not instant, and there are backslides, and some days getting out of bed is the hardest thing I've ever done. But I do, because I love the life I've made, and I know you love yours. You worked so hard for this, Chris, for everything you are and you've done since you came to live with Nat. Don't give that up because... because you're struggling. Don't let them win by convincing you you can't be anything else."
"I'm so-... it feels like a shell," Chris says, and pushes himself up to sitting, legs out to one side, tucking his head into the crook of Kauri's neck. The older man's arms move around his waist, holding him close, one hand moving up to keep stroking through his hair as he bites down on the feather, chewing on the familiar plastic. "Like I, I, I built a shell, and when Nova-... it cracked."
"Yeah. I know how that feels." Kauri turns his head, pressing a kiss to the top of Chris's hair, easy and comfortable. Chris hums around his feather, rocking just a little. The rising tide of grief inside him threatens to become a wave he can't withstand. He pushed Laken away, too far away, he made them leave him.
He broke up with them.
He made them go.
He can't take that back.
"Listen to me," Kauri whispers, lips against his scalp. "When I was at my lowest, when I hated myself the most, when I demanded Jake abandon me to what I kept telling myself I wanted... he didn't. He was still there. He was still there, and even if we weren't going to be together, he was still willing to help me stand up as a friend. When I was nothing but pieces drawing blood, he still loved me. He loved the pieces as much as the person, and he helped me put myself back together. It's not perfect. It's not overnight. And you'll still have hard days. But it's worth it, Chris."
"Why? Why, why, why is it worth it?"
"Because the world is beautiful," Kauri says, repeating his own long-ago words back to him, and Chris almost smiles. "Because I love the world, now, Chris, and I decided to try as hard as I can to love myself. I learned that from you."
"What if-... what if, if, if it's too late? What if I can't t-talk to them, or-"
"Then we'll stand you back up from there, and start moving forward again. You'll never lose us, we're family, Chris. But I think you should talk to Laken, and tell them what you're feeling, and let them decide how to react instead of deciding for them. They love you." Kauri puts a hand under his chin and lifts it, so their eyes meet. "Let them love you hurting just as much as they do when you're not."
"What if I don't... want to try any longer?"
"Then we'll be here to help you through that, too. All of it. Any of it. For better or worse, Chris, I'm your big brother - and so is Jake, and so is Antoni - and you're stuck with us whether you like it or not."
Chris tucks his head back down so Kauri can't see the tears well back up and run down, even as they soak into his shirt. His teeth grind down on the silicone plastic between them.
"I, I, I fucked up, Kauri," he whimpers, and then starts to sob. "I didn't-... I, I, I just don't w-want to be in m-my body anymore..."
Kauri holds him close.
"I h-hate it, I hate it, I hate it," Chris wails, and Kauri rests his chin on Chris's head and lets him cry. "I hate being p-pretty, I hate my, my, my, I hate that they made my body like this, I hate that I g-get scared and and and, and, and I can't stop things from happening to me, I h-hate that I hurt Laken, I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it!"
"I know," Kauri whispers. "I know, honey. I know."
"I h-hate myself-"
"Sssshhhh, I know."
Chris doesn't know how long he cries for.
But eventually he falls asleep in Kauri's arms.

This fic was inspired by the ABBA song "Slipping Through My Fingers / Me And I" and it's written for my brotp of Inazuma eleven Natsumi x Fudou. Also I'm drawing a bit inspo from @inazumafocus rarepair weeks so I have to give credit to them too (tell me if you want me to remove the tag though)! ^_^
Genre: Angst/fluff
Summary: Natsumi's and Fudou's friendship falters through the years, but the love they share never dies. In the end, they may have changed as people but the bond they shared came before anything else.
__________________
Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning/Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile/I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness/And I have to sit down for a while
They never went to school together. No. He went to Teikoku and Natsumi being the Raimon's chairmans daughter naturally went to Raimon. However, that didn't mean they didn't spend an absurd amount of time together. In fact, Natsumi's father had stopped asking why Fudou was always at their house. Quite the apposite really - he started questioning when Fudou wasn't there.
But somewhere along the line their friendship went down the drain. They didn't have a fight. No. They weren't mad at eachother. No. But there was something. Something that went bad and Fudou had joined Kageyama. Natsumi was heartbroken when she saw. But she was not mad. No. She couldn't be mad at Akio. Never. Afterall she had left Akio alone when the aliens attacked. In a way, she felt that she had betrayed him and not the other way around.
After he realized he'd made a mistake, Fudou wanted to approach her. Tell her he's sorry, hug his best friend, his "sister", go with her. But in way he had been late. They were already leaving. She smiled at him and waved goodbye.
"I'll see you around, Akio!" She had told him.
He watched her go, an overwellming feeling of sadness rushed over his body. He had to sit down after he saw her leave. He stayed on that bench for a couple of hours after that.
"The feeling that I'm losing her forever/And without really entering her world/I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter/That funny little girl"
She was a very important person to him. He had never had any interest in women romantically. In fact, the only person he was romantically interest in was Kidou and he was afterall a man. But Natsumi was his twin flame. A person he trusted more than he trusted himself. The sleepovers at her house, entire nights spent sending eachother memes, coffee and tea time every afternoon, laughing at stupid fashion trends - all of that was something he would't trade for anything else.
So when he was elected to be a candidate for Inazuma Japan, he went straight to her. Only to find out she would not be there when the match would happen or any other match for that matter.
"I'm sorry, Akio, but I have to go overseas. I wish I could watch you be selected. I know you will be," Natsumi had answered him when asked about the match.
"It's okay. I understand," he had smiled sadly.
He had a feeling that he'd be loosing her forever. But he shooked it off and swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Make it to the finals for me, Akio!" She gave him the brightest smile and giggle.
He nodded and smiled just as brightly as her, tears treatened to spill from his eyes. He was being vunerable - something he only showed to her and no one else.
They finally hugged - a big warm hug that lasted for at least a good five minutes. However, to both of them it felt like mere seconds. After that they said goodbye and she left to catch her plane. Fudou Akio cried a little, not that anyone saw, but he had promised himself he will win.
"Slipping through my fingers all the time/I try to capture every minute/The feeling in it/Slipping through my fingers all the time/Do I really see what's in her mind/Each time I think I'm close to knowing/She keeps on growing/Slipping through my fingers all the time"
And win he did. He kept on winning with his team and even made it to the finals. Never betraying his promise. Only, she... She had joined the Little Giants as their manager. He could not fantom the idea. Her leaving for someone else. Fudou thought he knew her. And yet her intentions slipped though his fingers like a handfull of sand.
He was sad. He almost felt betrayed. Almost... But he remembered.
"I betrayed her first..." he thought out loud, kicking the a stone in the ocean before plopping on the sand.
"No, you didn't." Her sharp voice answered behind him.
Fudou almost jumped in surprise. She was there, her hair matted from the wind, her eyes almost full of tears, her sandals full of sand.
"Natsu..."
"Never say that again. Never. You have never betrayed me, never hurt me. Fudou Akio you are the greatest friend I ever had and you are such a big softy inside that, honestly, you could never hurt me even if you tried"
Her voice was sharp, however, her eyes were soft. She plopped herself next to him and rested her head against his shoulder - something she often done when they were alone.
"Then why?" Akio asked as he rested his head on hers.
"You'll find out soon enough."
And after that they stayed in silence. Looking at the nights sea together, enjoying each others calming presence.
"Sleep in our eyes/Her and me at the breakfast table/Barely awake, I let precious time go by/Then when she's gone/There's that odd melancholy feeling/And a sense of guilt I can't deny"
She joined Inazuma Japan after that night. Most were not so excepting. The first to welcome her back was none other than Endou and his stupidly warm presence. The second were the managers. The rest soon joined. And Fudou... He was so confused, so still ridden with guilt, so filled with mixed emotions that he had stayed quiet the whole day. The others questioned him about it at the breakfast table, thinking he would say something snotty or sassy. Fudou Akio finally let out a laugh and threw his arm around Natsumi - an action that confused the team.
"Bestie, I'm afraid to tell you this... But Natsu here is my best bro," he chuckled and pulled her close.
"Wait... This is the Akio you told me about?!" Gouemji was the first to speak adressing Natsumi.
Natsumi just nodded and giggled at Fudou's antics. Fudou felt like it was the old times again.
"What happened to the wonderful adventures/The places I had planned for us to go/(Slipping through my fingers all the time)/Well, some of that we did but most we didn't/And why, I just don't know"
They were beggining to become like they used to. But then they won and had to go home. And then they graduated and went to different high schools. Fudou felt sad again. Natsumi and him had always planned to go wild in high school, date as many people as they could, go on trips, have wild adventures. That never happened. Last year of highschool Natsumi was only focused on studies, he was too. If he wanted to go to university, he had to pass with flying colors. He could not afford tuition fees.
They both succeeded in the end. Ocasionally they did text, send some memes here and there, studied together at times, maybe even had a coffee together. But it never felt the same. And Fudou Akio just did not know why.
"Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture/And save it from the funny tricks of time/Slipping through my fingers"
The first time he saw her in person after months and not just occasionall calls or texts was when holy road and the rebellion for soccer began. She looked just like always - elegant, put together. She greeted him with a warm smile and hug. But there was so much sadness in her eyes.
"Akio, I haven't seen you in months! Where the hell have you've been?" She questioned. "Has living with Kidou changed you that much? That you can't even visit?" She teased.
"No, having to explain to Gouenji Shuuya that I am gay and do not have any intentions towards his girlfriend did," he teased her back, chuckling.
Her face fell, her eyes did not shine anymore after mentioning Gouenji.
"Natsu, what happened?" He asked concerned, his arms wrapping around her small shoulders to comfort her.
"Did Kidou not tell you? He's... he's Ishido Shuuji now...."
Fudou mentally slapped himself. He had been so dumb. Kidou did mention Ishido Shuuji, but he must have misheard who he truly was. All this time he thought his boyfriend meant that coach Kudou was the holy emperor and Gouenji had been the one starting the resistance. It was the opposite and Fudou didn't even text Natsumi about her well being.
"Yeah... I am sorry, Natsu... Are you okay?"
It was then that she fiercely hugged him and let her tears run freely.
"I don't recognise him anymore. He changed...he said it will all be revealed in time but would not tell me what he meant. So I... I packed my bags when he wasn't home and came to your work. I'm sorry."
"It's fine,Natsu, you know I am always here for you," he rubbed her back gently. "Do you have anywhere to stay?"
"I would go to my father's but I do not want to explain why in the ever living hell Gouenji decided to become Ishido to him and how i have fucking clue what the hell he is even doing,"she sobbed again.
"Then please stay with me before you two figure things out," he offered.
"But Kidou..."
"Nah, he'll be fine. Besides, it is my house also."
He had whiped her tears away and led her back to the car. After they drove to his and Kidou's house. Fudou led her in and offered the guest bedroom for her to stay in. While she settled in, he ran back downstairs to a now confused Kidou and updated him on the situation and Kidou being the angel he is ordered them take out and was prepared to treat Natsumi as she were his sister Haruna, because to Fudou Akio Natsumi was his sister.
They ate the take out together after it arrived. All three of them on the living room couch. In the end, Kidou had asked Natsumi to tell her about Fudou as he had heard so much information he didn't know about her from Fudou. She had happily agreed and the rest of the night was spent with them laughing. Fudou saw Natsumi's eyes brigthen that night and her laugh so honestly. Akio thought that must have been the first time she had laughed in many months.
Two of the most important people in Fudou's life were sitting in the same room and in a way it felt like old times, but Fudou knew this was even better. He wished he could freeze the picture and stay in that moment forever.

gold gradients
pairing: ushijima wakatoshi x reader
summary: your midlife crisis happens rather quickly, and its not midlife, you’re twenty three with a baby whose daddy just left with your best friend. peachy.
part of: pink peonies
green polka dots x gold gradients x next
you came back to practice the next day and the day after that, and then it was like seeing you at practice was normal. akio skipping in front of you volleyball plush in tow, you sitting with misaki in the stands. then after practice, you’d hang around for a bit, letting akio run off with kageyama who (surprisingly) had taken a liking to the young striving setter, but ushijima thought that it was mostly because akio reminded him of someone else.
and sometimes, your eyes would meet his and sometimes hirugami would invite him over to your group of three and sometimes you’d talk about your students and how you can’t wait until they open the lab again and your eyes would crinkle and he thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. or when akio would climb up his leg and you’d apologize but to him it was fine. it was akio, the next super setter who loved to watch ushijima play, and he was your son, of course, it was fine.
but he didn’t have feelings for you, of course he didn’t.
he felt something towards you, but they weren't feelings. he knew how feelings worked, there was maemi very briefly in high school and rini two years ago. he was pretty sure there were feelings back then, and they didn’t feel like the ones he had now.
yeah, they definitely weren’t the same.
-
misaki screeched.
“no. way. seriously, come on you can’t miss the first game of the season.” she whined, “the lab will be there on monday you can wait! think of akio, how heartbroken--.”
you held your hand up.
“first off, we don’t have tickets as it is. and akio already knows i’m busy this weekend and that he’s going to be at daycare.”
misaki scrunched her face at your words, “obviously you wouldn’t need tickets, and does akio even know any of the kids from saturdays daycare?”
“well, no.” you sighed, “but we’ve already talked about this.”
“then let me and fukuro take care of him! we can take him to the game and drop him off after! you know he’d love it.”
it wasn’t like you didn’t trust misaki. but you’d never let anyone really take him out. would it be so bad though? he already got accustomed to calling the hirugami’s auntie and uncle.
in front of you misaki cheered.
“oh my god i haven’t even made a decision yet.”
she grinned, “no but you made the exact same face when you let the kids do extra credit on the midterm.”
-
ushijima had never seen you like this before.
“--and you stay with auntie okay? you never let go of her hand you go with her everywhere, promise?”
akio nodded and stuck his pinky out, “promise.”
your eyebrows were furrowed and he could see you biting the inside of your lip as you son took misakis hand and entered the gym.
“[l/n]” he heard himself saying, “akio will be okay with us. even when the game starts he’ll be sitting near us. i, we’ll take care of him.”
you stared blankly at his face.
oh, had he said something wrong? was it weird to say,
“thank you ushijima-san.” you responded, blushing a little. “i know you will.”
there really shouldn’t have a bolt of lightning zipping through his heart.
-
over the course of the next couple hours misaki had sent you photos of them during warmup. one of akio staring intently at the court, another of him smiling at the camera, and oh. the last one, made you laugh a little. it wasn’t a photo, but a video of akio talking to ushijima, his arms spread out wide accentuating his words and then like it was the easiest thing in the world the man had scooped him up into his chest and it had sent akio keeling in laughter.
and then underneath the video, “hmmmm akio and the super built amazing sexy ushijima wakatoshi are getting along quite well.”
you scoffed, ignoring the message (but saving the video). pulling the goggles off of your face you stepped back from your workspace, almost admiring the view that would let anyone know that someone was doing very, very important work here. you stepped out of the lab, taking a seat on the bench outside and kicking off your shoes, letting your mind wander.
did akio want a dad? he had never asked about it before, why there were only two of you. was he scared to ask? you groaned out loud, the birds near by flitting off in surprise. but was it too late for you? to love someone meant ripping open year old traumas, and the last time you’d done that…your lover had eloped with your best friend and left you 19 and pregnant. had it really been four years since, nope nope, you didn’t need to unpack all that yet.
feelings could wait.
physical attraction however...there was no lying. ushijima was objectively handsome, hot even. you had seen the ads for the japan national team, it wasn’t your fault the uniform was so tightly fitted to his broad chest.
you were 23! these thoughts were probably fine, healthy even. its not like they were emotional.
or so you thought.
-
when you arrive at the gym the crowds have mostly dispersed. adler fans flaunting the “easy” win, and whatever the other team was leaving in a disappointing loss. but other than a few fans the gym is mostly empty.
“mommy!”
you whipped around, smile spreading as your son sprints towards you. kneeling down you physically prepare yourself for the ball of straight energy coming at you. wrapping your arms around him you plant a kiss on his forehead. but when you look up, it isn’t misaki who’s taken your son out to greet you.
“u-ushijima - san.”
the figure of pure muscle in front of you nods slightly, “hirugami-san is waiting for the captain in the locker room but akio saw you walking into the gym and insisted on saying hello.”
you open your mouth to respond but akio beats you to it.
“ushijima-san scored the most points today! he said i was good luck.”
you cant help the full fledged grin on your face when you look up to see japans cannon blushing because of a four-year-olds words.
“is that right?” you tease, “guess that means we’ll have to keep coming back huh?”
akio nods furiously, “and then ushijima-san will win everytime!
out the corner of your eye you can see ushijima turning away, tips of his ears reddening quickly.
standing up, you take akios hand in your own. “tell me more in the car okay?”
and in a moment of courage? is that what its called. you turn toward the man who’s been plaguing your mind all day,
“thank you ushijima-san. i cant wait to hear what happened during the game.”
for the first time in four year you can feel your face lighting itself on fire.
“[l/n], will you be at practice on monday?”
you turn, nodding your head.
“is it okay if i give you something?”
your heart drops down to your stomach, and not finding the words to say “you could give anything to me.” you nod.
“then have a good night.”
“yeah you too.”
you look down at your son who looks just as confused as you are.
“mommy lets go eat.”

Kaminari Denki Headcanons
(All hail the mighty pikachu)
1/ Bisexual disaster. He flirts all the time but once he gets flirted with? Oh my gosh bi panic everywhere. Polysexual as well. (Is 50% the reason the Bakusquad starts dating each other)
2/ ADHD AND dyslexia! Oops, let’s sprinkle on some DEPRESSION right there!
3/ His legal guardian is his older brother Akio and his girlfriend. Parents aren’t in the picture and neither Kaminari brother wants them to be. Akio would murder for his baby bro.
4/ can’t be outside during thunderstorms. He gets too much electricity in his system and then he’s at risk for seizures. Still gets them but they’re mostly triggered by thunderstorms.
5/ His quirk creates Lichtenberg figures on his skin and he either loves them or hates them depending on the day. On good days he shows them to people and makes jokes about how his skin matches his hair! On bad days? Doesn’t even look at himself in the mirror and tries to ignore it.
6/ Would exercise until he was close to passing out because he just looked at all these beefcake guys like Kirishima and Iida and even MIDORIYA had muscle and then he was just... lanky noodle arms. Bakugou was the one who was like “I’m not going to hang around you if you don’t take care of yourself, you absolute shithead.” And when that didn’t work he threw the weights across the gym and started crying saying that Kami was important to him and that he’d hurt himself if he kept this shit up.
7/ Chaos gremlin. Absolute madlad.
8/ Can pass as any gender or no gender at all at it’s frustrating how PRETTY he is. Like Todoroki is the masculine pretty but no Kaminari has to be pretty on ALL LEVELS.
9/ claims he’s Aizawa’s favorite. Ignores Aizawa glaring at him.
10/ “If you save me from dying. Good luck getting rid of me. God wanted me dead now you get to find out why.” And “do it for the lols” are his life mottos.
11/ Instagrams EVERYTHING. Mina doing her makeup? #KILLING IT GIRL. Kirishima working out? WOOHOO BENCH ME! Bakugou cooking? ‘Break me off a piece of that KitKat bar~’ and has a picture of a KitKat on Bakugou’s butt? Absolutely. He loves videos and videos EVERYTHING.
12/ Favorite desert is chocolate cake. He begs Satou to make it all the time.

[[ A gift for @nuttyrabbit since today’s his birthday! This is the longest fic I wrote, and features a future version of his recently-introduced OC, Mach, and our shared kid OC, Journey (in this verse, named Nozomi Hibiki) as they traverse Osakiru - the Mobius counterpart to Japan that Nutty developed for his characters. Enjoy! ]]
Tumblr media
Airigasaki, Osakiru.
Mach heaved a sigh as he rested the nail-bat against his shoulder, peering out at the chaos and embers from behind his signature oni mask. People screamed, cried, and called out for help, for loved ones, for a savior that would not come. The sirens in the distance were nearly drowned out by the crackling of the flames, the hollers of the Sons of the Oni crew and cries of anguish from their victims.
He watched, breathing in the heavy smoke and feeling the heat blasting against his body, the scent and sounds of death around him all but drowned out by his own thoughts.
This was still Lord Frost’s country, and as long as Mach drew breath, he was going to do everything in his power to remind the people of that fact. Frost’s legacy was in his veins, in his heart; so long as Mach kept going, his legacy would never die.
--
Nozomi stirred, blinking slowly. Something had nudged her awake. She wanted to sleep, mumbling, huffing as she nestled deeper against the… garbage bags? She was nudged again.
Opening her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of a baseball bat, wrapped in barbed wire behind held out at her. The owner knelt down to her level, his clothes tattered and torn, his face hidden behind a wooden, scary mask. … Or at least, a mask that would be scary to most children. Not Nozomi. She was brave. Fearless.
“Yo. You alive?” The stranger asked. Nozomi stared blankly. Her stomach growled loudly. It was the only response he got out of her.
The masked stranger stared at her for what seemed a very long time, and Nozomi curled up again. Hunger pangs shot through her stomach and she whimpered pathetically. After a few moments, the stranger left.
Nozomi tried to make sense of the events in her head, fuzzy as they were. She remembered a long, fun day out exploring, making the foster workers worry about her whereabouts. Mrs. Suzuki had found her, by the playground, and was walking her back when there was a horrible boom, and people screaming and running. Nozomi recalled Mrs. Suzuki screaming and picking her up, and running. It was so dark, Nozomi couldn’t see - and neither could the poor, scared people, who ran into Mrs. Suzuki, knocking Nozomi from her arms and sending her tumbling. After that, all the child could recall was the stampede of footsteps, being trampled in the fleeing crowd and stumbling into this alleyway. The smoke had made her lungs hurt, and she got sleepy.
She wondered where Mrs. Suzuki was, but was too tired to move. As she sat up, she heard footsteps approaching, and looked to find the masked stranger from before approaching. He stopped in front of her, and set down a bottle of water and an armful of… food?  Her ears shot up attentively, and she swore she heard a snicker from the stranger. That was okay. People liked her ears! They said so often, she recalled.
“... You should probably eat.”
The stranger made a weird huffy noise, and looked around before helping open the bags and containers of food, placing them before the small child, and waited to see if she would move, if she could move in her current state. What would he do if she couldn’t…? He didn’t want to think about it. He’d have to keep moving. Someone else could help her, or she’d simply die. That was just how it was. For now, he watched.
Nozomi looked down at the meal, and back up at the disheveled mobian who stood before her -- and promptly stuck her tiny hands in the food, shoving fistfuls in her mouth, chewing noisily with her mouth open.
“Thanks, Mr. Monster-” Nozomi started. “...Name’s Mach. And don’t thank me.” The stranger corrected her, against his better judgement. “Thanks, Mr. Mach!”
Mach stared on in disbelief. He wasn't sure what he expected from the child - looking at her, she couldn't be more than three, maybe four years old at most. It was why he couldn’t just… keep walking. He didn’t usually see the unfortunate victims who were caught up in what he’d set out to do. Never one this small. He was no less determined to fulfil Frost’s legacy, but it was hard to ignore seeing such a tiny body laying down on a pile of garbage bags like she was just minutes earlier, lethargic and left to… He didn’t want to think about it. She wouldn’t have been the first. She wouldn’t be the last. He knew that, but he couldn’t stop himself from watching her.
She was a mess, with tousled hair and wrapped up in an old, tattered sweater that was entirely too big for her, with giant sleeves she used to wipe her face when she was done. It was then she raised her arms towards Mach, and whined. "Up, please!" She requested.
Behind his mask, Mach arched a brow. She certainly came around quickly. It was… charming.
But Nozomi wasn't the slightest bit intimidated, looking up at him with her big, bright eyes and a smile that, behind the carved wooden mask, Mach found himself returning, betraying his better judgement.
"Up!" The child demanded once more, and with sagging shoulders and an amused exhale, Mach obliged after making sure no one was around.
“What’s yer name, pipsqueak?” Mach asked. “I’m not a pipsqueak! I’m Nozomi! Nozomi Hibiki!” She huffed, pouting so fiercely it earned a chuckle from Mach.
She was so small, so light in his scarred arms, so fearless in his presence, that Mach couldn't help but smile behind the mask - it somehow made him feel lighter, though he wasn't sure why. As the child settled in his arms, content with having gotten her way, she  tapped a tiny claw against the Oni mask, wondering what his face must look like underneath.
“Where did you stay before this?” He asked, ignoring the dryness in his throat. “In the big building, with the other kids.” Nozomi answered.
The burnt pile of rubble Mach had passed by before he found her. The Son of the Oni felt a chill wash over him. He swallowed thickly as he imagined a burning building, full of tiny bodies like Nozomi’s… And quickly shook it off. He had work to do. Important work. It wasn’t his fault; their deaths were the failings of their caretakers, the people who betrayed Lord Frost’s memory, who let G.U.N. come in and tear down his legacy, who failed to get those kids out… And he hadn’t even known there was a foster care facility in the vicinity. He thought he was burning down markets. Stores. Not children.
The pugilist fidgeted slightly - he was supposed to be meeting his crew, do some interrogating, help set things right-- but he couldn't leave her here. Sighing, he wondered if maybe she had anyone else who could take care of her… and if they survived the Sons of the Oni raid. Against his better judgement, he asked.
“Yo, Nozomi, you got anywhere else to go?” “Go where?” “No, no I mean -- Tha place ya lived is gone. Did you know anyone else you can stay with?” “Oh!! I do!” “Okay, who?” “You, Mr. Mach!” She giggled, poking the mask.
Mach froze, mouth agape as he stared at the little girl in his arms. “Yer shittin’ me, right?” --
It was night again, and there wasn’t a soul to be found on the streets of Airigasaki. As Mach and Nozomi came out of the smouldering half of the district,  people fled at the sight of Mach. Screamed in terror at the insignia on the back of his jacket. The Sons of the Oni had come upon their quiet town, and not a soul was brave enough to tear the sleeping child from his arms - or realize that he was looking for someone to take her. The pugilist cursed himself under his breath. This kid wasn’t his problem. Not his responsibility. He knew he shouldn’t care so much, but feeling her small form against his body, her little breaths against his neck as she slept, the way tiny fingers clasped at his shirt - it made him feel something he hadn’t felt in years. Maybe it was selfish, clinging to this small feeling of importance when he had a legacy to fulfil. Akio and Mirage wouldn’t let him hear the end of it if they found out, but for now, that didn’t matter. He’d find somewhere to dump the kid, and they’d never know.
Sighing as he reached a park, he set the sleeping child onto the bench. His hand moved to brush her overgrown bangs out of her eyes, but pulled away. He looked around warily, wondering if maybe she’d be okay if he just left her here, asleep on the bench. Maybe someone would pick her up in the morning. He glanced down at her, and sighed before walking away.
“Sleep tight, Pipsqueak.” --
It was daybreak. Mach weaved between the tight alleyways of Airigasaki, hoping to avoid the cops. He just had to make it to the station, and he’d be in the clear. Shimahara was only a few short stops away - that was where the next raid was happening, and he hoped to recruit more men into the Sons of the Oni. Last night had opened the pugilist’s eyes;  the sooner he found Mangetsu, the sooner he amassed enough of Lord Frost’s followers, the sooner this all could stop. The sooner he could set this damned country back on the right track, and finally get G.U.N off their land. Out of the late Emperor’s palace. The sooner he could fulfil his destiny.
He turned the corner when suddenly a small, loud voice called out to him.
“Mr. Mach!” Suddenly, Nozomi was dangling above, hanging from an awning, a huge grin plastered onto her face. Mach instinctively held out his arms to catch her. She seemed to take this as an invitation, as she lept from the awning, frantically flapping her underdeveloped wings and plummeting down into his arms with a squeal of delight.
He stared at her, silent, unsure of what to do, or why he didn’t want to put her down, when the sound of approaching sirens startled him back to reality. He set her down hastily, and bolted, dashing through the alleyways and crowded streets. He didn’t look back, but he could hear her tiny footsteps, running behind him.
“Hey! Wait for me! Waaaiit!” She whined. Mach didn’t answer. He focused on his goal - reaching the train before it departed. Surely he’d lose her on the way there. Not his problem. Soon, Airigasaki and Nozomi would just be a distant memory.   “Mr. Mach!” Her little legs couldn’t keep up. He heard a soft thud as she tripped, and cried out: “Why are you ignoring me?!”
Her words were like thunder in Mach’s head. He froze, panting heavily as he looked down at the small child, her scraped little knee, the tears streaming down her face as she sniffled and rubbed her eyes. And in that moment, Mach saw himself in the child. He didn’t really think about it, when he walked up to her, scooped her in his arms, and just continued to run, a calloused hand firmly on her back, supporting her, securing her.
They boarded the train together. --
It was raining in Shimahara. The train station had vending machines with ice creams. He didn’t feel like eating, but Nozomi was enjoying a treat. She was a mess of matted fur, sticky fingers and sopping wet -- and shoveling an icecream sandwich into her mouth. It was gross, sloppy, and somehow endearing. It was such a far cry from how sad she was as they boarded the train, her feelings hurt by Mach’s attempts to abandon her, or how curious she had become aboard the train, gasping and tugging on Mach’s sleeve excitedly as she looked out the window.
He was beginning to understand why people had kids. He’d only known her for about a day, and she’d dragged him through a whirlwind of emotions since they met, and yet -- this was the happiest he’d been in years.
He was going to miss her. “All done, Pipsqueak?” He asked. Nozomi had been sitting on a bench with him outside the station, her legs dangling off the seat as she kicked them while stuffing her face with ice cream.
“Mhm!”  She held up her empty, sticky hands at Mach to prove it. He laughed. “Let's go then.”
The two of them set off. Mach fidgeted, brimming with nervous energy. The raid was tonight, and where would that leave Nozomi? He couldn’t take her with him - it’d traumatize her, make her hate him and could effectively cost him recruits if they thought he was going soft. Handing her off to someone who lived in the area meant she would just be among the body count after the raid and he couldn’t stomach the thought. He cursed himself for getting attached. [ Fuckin’ idiot. ]
“Mr. Mach! You shouldn’t say bad words!” Nozomi scolded him, putting her hands on her hips. “Sorry, sorry.” Mach mumbled, rolling his eyes behind the mask.
As the two continued to walk, Mach found himself thinking back to Takeda. She would have known what to do with Nozomi, how to take care of her -- it only now occurred to Mach that while he was okay with being soaked thanks to his aquatic nature, Nozomi probably wasn’t. He wondered if it was possible to track Takeda down, and if he could, whether or not she’d be willing to help him with his little predicament. But for now, he had an idea. “C’mon, Pipsqueak. Let’s get you cleaned up.”
Half an hour and two stolen towels later, Mach walked into a Children’s Department store with Nozomi. He had a few bucks - might as well treat the kid. He had to get her out of that drenched sweater anyway. He let her lead him, her tiny fingers curled around his as she excitedly dragged him along, gasping at all the cool clothes and pointing excitedly at what appealed to her -- and what appealed to her absolutely stole Mach’s heart.
It was a positively hideous black t-shirt with a cartoonish skull, which wore a fantastically awful bright pink bow. There was glitter on the bow, and everywhere, really, and a pair of black leggings with the ugliest little tutu dress- which, surprising no one, also had glitter - and the tiniest pair of punk boots Mach had ever seen.
He bought the items to the counter, his heart hammering in his chest; what the fuck was he doing? He could be caught. Arrested. He was putting Frost’s legacy on the line for this-- this adorable little punk. He stood stiffly before the register, and the woman behind it smiled at him warmly.
“I uh, need ta pay for these. For her.” He fumbled the words out. “Of course.” The woman said, patiently. As she rang up the skull shirt, Mach chuckled dryly. “She’s uh, got weird taste.”
The woman gave him a look, eyeing him up and down as he stood before her, hoodie pulled up, wearing his Oni mask and in his usual, tattered attire, smiled and said, “I can’t imagine where she gets it from.”
Mach was grateful that the mask hid his features, as an insidious blush crept across his features as he muttered under his breath, taking the bag, calling over Nozomi and hastily tutting her to the backroom to get changed so they could leave.
--
Soon, the two stopped to get lunch. Some on-the-go ramen was a welcome treat, and after retreating to the relative safety of a dark alley, Mach finally lifted his mask, turning it so it rested on the side of his head so that he could eat.
Nozomi nearly spilled her cup in shock, leaning forward suddenly as she saw Mr. Mach’s face for the very first time.
“Whoa! Your eyes are so cool!” She gasped. Mach chuckled, “Yeah? Watch this.”
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he focused. When he opened his eyes again, giving the kid a crooked but genuine grin, his eyes were glowing an array of different colors. Nozomi was mesmerized, flapping her tiny wings excitedly, earning another laugh from Mach.
As the glow faded out, the two ate their lunch in relative silence. Or, rather, Mach fell deep into his own thoughts and didn’t hear whatever topic Nozomi was prattling off about. She tended to jump around a lot and ramble about nothing in particular, and sometimes it came out a bit like gibberish. Four year olds weren’t exactly known for being great conversation partners.
Without really thinking about it, he pulled an old, tattered journal from his jacket’s inner pocket. It was solid black, with ice-blue decals. The words on the pages inside were written in a delicate, formal handwriting, each thought carefully recorded. [Legacy, huh…? Ya sure know how to pick ‘em, Lord Frost.] Mach thought to himself, as his calloused fingers traced over a page in the journal. His time with Nozomi had made him feel like himself again for the first time in years, he had laughed for what felt like the first time in an eternity.
“What’s a legacy?” Nozomi’s question pulled Mach back to reality, and he stared, dumbfounded. Where did that come from? “Uh… Well, a legacy is… when you represent someone’s ideals an’ shit, an’ carry it on fer ‘em after they’re gone. Make sure it survives, no matter what. Make sure nobody forgets.” “Ohh,” Nozomi said, her face serious. “And who’s Lord Frost?”
Mach nearly dropped the journal, staring at Nozomi slack-jawed. No way. No fuckin’ way. [You pickin’ my mind, Pipsqueak? Like it's your nose?]
“Gross!” Nozomi giggled.   Mach opened his mouth to speak, and no sound came out. How had he missed this? He smacked his forehead, recalling when she had scolded him for thinking a curse word. He’d been so wrapped up in everything, it never occurred to him that he hadn’t said it aloud.
A fucking four-year-old that could read minds. He had to laugh about it - that was just his luck, wasn’t it?
---
Shimahara burned.
But by then, Nozomi and Mach were on the next train out. Mach wasn’t certain of his next step, or what he wanted to do, much less what he was supposed to do. But he knew someone who would have the answers, or at the very least, help him find them.
---
Akhone, Osakiru.
The countryside was… different than any place Mach had been in the six years since Frost’s demise. It was so serene. There were no alleys, no street vendors, no traffic, no smog. No colorful vending machines or giant outlets.
People didn’t scream or stare fearfully at him. They glanced his way, and seeing little Nozomi holding his hand, would smile and wave. There were people working the fields, and little shops in town. When Mach asked directions, the townsfolk happily pointed him in the right direction.
It was a modest little abode by the lake. A familiar crane got to his feet when he saw Mach and Nozomi approaching, and called for the old woman inside as they reached the front door.
Takeda came to the door. The cup of tea in her hands fell to the floor as she saw him - it had been so, so long, and now he’d come home. She ran up and pulled him in a hug, and Mach, against his better judgement, melted into the embrace, returning it. His head was swimming, his thoughts at war with each other.
She led him inside, and for the first time in ages, Mach felt at home.
--
As Mach lay in bed that night, Nozomi curled up against his chest, Takeda and Penumbra in the adjacent rooms, he found himself reflecting on the events of the past 2 weeks. Meeting this incredible little girl, and travelling with her across not one, not two, but three different provinces as she reminded him how to enjoy life again. How one little girl had changed his life in such a short amount of time, with her infectious joy and endearing quirkiness, Mach couldn’t be certain.
A lot of things, Mach found, were uncertain.
Mach wasn’t sure where he was going, he wasn’t even really sure who he was anymore. A boy. A man. A legacy. A failure. A father? Hell if he knew.
But the little girl in his arms, with her silly tutu that had left Mach and their bed covered in glitter, and her horrid, sticky little fingers and adorable laugh? She was his journey and wherever she took him - whether it was to the other side of Osakiru or the world, he figured he’d be okay with that as long as she was happy.

THE PHENOMENA OF THE SOULMATE TATTOO
A person is born with a small, black, faded tattoo on any part of their body. Each year, it becomes more distinct as the time it takes for two souls, with the exact same tattoos, to meet draws near.
Once face to face, their tattoos change color depending on how they classify each other. Blue for strangers, purple for acquaintances, yellow for friends, and gold for love. A person's tattoo turns white once their soulmate passes away.
Soulmate tattoos may appear on different parts of the body. One could have their tattoo on the wrist, while their soulmate could have their tattoo on the face.
The colors may jump depending on the nature of the relationship, such as when purple tattoos turn gold.
Of course, their soulmate's tattoo can have a completely different color than theirs.
——————————
He definitely cannot take his eyes off you as you introduced yourself in front of the class. He noticed the sparks in your eyes that made you seem ethereal to every other being that locked gazes with yours, the tone of your voice as it seemed like you were captivating an entire audience, and the smile on your lips that seemed to prove that you were a descendant of an angel.
Everything seemed too perfect for Nishinoya Yuu.
You were a transfer student from Tokyo, moved to Miyagi because your father had to work there. As someone open to new experiences, you didn't have a single complaint despite moving away from the city you grew up in and leaving all your friends. After all, you were sure you're gonna come back someday.
“Hi, I'm y/n! I love Gari-Gari Kun and Soba. I hope I could get along with everyone!” You finished your introduction with a bow and turned to the teacher for her to tell you where you'd be sitting.
She told you that you could sit next to Etsu, who was a seat behind Nishinoya.
Walking towards your designated seat, you fail to notice the pair of brown orbs glancing back and forth from his notebook to you in an obvious manner.
“Hi, I'm Etsu! Nice to meet you,” A short-haired girl with grey eyes greeted. You looked at her to greet her back, but you immediately noticed something under her right eye.
It was a tattoo of a quill with the word “perfect” written beside it,
And it was gold.
Etsu felt your fixation on her tattoo so she explained, “Oh, you noticed my tattoo! My soulmate's Akio over there,” She smiled as she pointed out to a black-haired boy a few seats away. You followed her gaze and saw that the said boy also had the same tattoo, the golden, very distinct quill on his left hand.
“It must be nice to meet your soulmate and have him reciprocate your feelings at this age,” You giggled as you felt a familiar wave wash over you. That eager yet fearful wave of wanting to find your soulmate, and at the same time, not wanting anything tying you down to a single entity for life.
You reached up to your collarbone, covered by your uniform, and thought about your tattoo. You noticed it was becoming more distinct day by day.
Could it be, that your soulmate was here in Miyagi?
“RYU, I'M TELLING YOU! SHE HAD A PERFECT SMILE, HER EYES WERE LITERAL STARS AND HER VOICE FELT LIKE SOMETHING I'D HEAR WHEN I ENTER HEAVEN!” Nishinoya went on, rambling about the girl who transferred from Tokyo. It was lunch break and you were all he ever talked about. Tanaka gave him a doubtful laugh, and proceeded to defend his case.
“There's no way she's on the level of our goddess Kiyoko! Seriously Noya-san, what you're saying is IMPOSSIBLE!” He defended, heart-eyes somewhat evident on his face.
It was true though. No one was on the level of Shimizu when it came to Tanaka and Nishinoya. Although somehow, in some way, you were on the same level as her in Nishinoya's eyes.
Hearing the doubt in his friend's voice, Nishinoya stood up from the bench. His confidence oozing out of him as he grabbed Tanaka's arm, pulling him towards the cafeteria where you and Etsu went.
He scanned the area looking for the target, and locked his eyes on your figure. He turned to the taller male, who was rubbing his arm that hurt a bit at how the other pulled it.
“There she is! See for yourself,” Nishinoya, who was smirking, told him.
Tanaka checked the girl who was somewhat perfect enough for his friend to equate her to Kiyoko.
You were sitting next to Etsu and facing Akio.
'Well, she's cute enough for Noya-san, but no one can possibly beat my Kiyoko' Tanaka thought, about to lead Nishinoya back to where they were hanging out, but the dual-haired boy was suddenly like a statue.
“Ryu, I t-think we j-just made eye contact. She s-saw us,” He stuttered. Tanaka's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. He looked back and true enough, you were staring at them. Your eyes were filled with curiosity. Who wouldn't be though? Finding some boys secretly looking at you.
Both boys immediately show deep shades of red on their faces, their usual rowdy and confident selves suddenly nowhere to be found. They ran back to the halls as quickly as they could, before you could even get a chance to ask them what was up.
“Hey y/n, you okay?” Etsu asked, snapping her fingers in front of you. The trance you were in shattered, you nod to Etsu's questioning look and proceed to eat
'He's cute' were the words that popped into your mind as you pictured the boy who'd caught your eye.
There you stood in your home, stunned at the sight of the mirror in front of you.
“When did this happen?” you whispered as your fingers graze the blue ink on your collarbone.
'Shit. When did I meet them?' You were internally panicking because of this troublesome ink. Sure, you wanted to find out who they were, but falling in love and being tied to them forever? No. You weren't ready for that just yet.
'Maybe I shouldn't find out who they are for a while.'
Nishinoya was ecstatic to say the least. He'd dreamed for this day to come, for his tattoo to finally change its color.
The color blue, a stranger for a soulmate.
He wasn't the one who discovered it first, unfortunately. They were having a practice match against Date Tech, it was the 3rd set and the score was 24-22, match point for Karasuno. He went in for a dive after Azumane's spike was blocked by the Iron Wall, and that's when someone finally noticed it.
Hinata, who was waiting on the sidelines, noticed something when Nishinoya's shorts hiked up a bit as he went in for that dive receive.
“Noya-san!” The ginger head called out as they were cleaning the gym after the practice match. Karasuno won the 3rd set, much to their delight.
"Hey, Shoyo! What's up?” Nishinoya asked as he stopped cleaning the floor. He saw the way Hinata's eyes were in awe and thought that maybe he was on a roll with his receives today.
“YOUR SOULMATE TATTOO'S BLUE!” Hinata blurted out and suddenly all eyes were on the libero.
His eyes widen in shock as he looked back at his shorts. Hiking it up a bit, there it was.
His tattoo was placed on the back of his thighs, just above where the knee was placed.
It was a small tattoo of the solar system, the 8 planets orbiting around the sun.
Nishinoya knew it was almost time for him to meet his soulmate, as every night he spends a few minutes in front of the mirror, staring quietly at his tattoo. It became quite distinct these days, and now it was blue.
“Hey, maybe your soulmate's that new girl,” Tanaka joked, laughing out loud, thinking it was impossible. Oh, if only he knew that his soulmate was the girl they'd been chasing for years. If only he and Shimizu actually saw each other's tattoo.
“Well, it's not impossible,” Nishinoya retorted, a glimmer of hope in his heart that told him you were his soulmate. A little crush he had from his class.
A few months have passed, and Nishinoya still didn't know who his soulmate was. Yeah, he kept searching, but he can't just ask anyone to show them their tattoo.
In those months, Nishinoya's little crush on you grew a lot. You guys weren't technically friends, and you didn't really know him, but that didn't stop his affections from growing.
It was a shame he was never partnered with you, or be grouped with you during homeworks and projects.
One time, he saw you in Coach Ukai's shop. You were buying Gari-Gari Kun, soda flavor, his favorite.
Another time, he saw you on the street. You were with a kid and she was laughing loud enough for almost everyone to hear as you tickled her.
'Girls who are good with kids are cute.' He thought as he smiled.
Then, another time, he saw you feeding some stray dogs and cats food, petting them as they ate.
Did you have to be like that? Did you have to make his heart soar everytime he saw you? Did you have to steal the love he was supposed to give to his soulmate?
Nishinoya ignored these little things about you that made him happy. He ignored the thought of loving you because you didn't know him. Heck, you couldn't possibly be his soulmate.
His tattoo had already turned into a different color, which meant his soulmate was, maybe, one of his friends.
You made your way through the Tokyo Metropolitan Gym, along with Etsu and Akio, finding some good seats to be able to watch your school's boys' volleyball team play.
Karasuno had made it to Nationals, and Akio, who was a good friend of Nishinoya, dragged both Etsu and you to Tokyo to watch their games.
“Is this the first time our school's gone to Nationals?” You asked innocently, seeing the seats filled with people.
“Yeah, in years,” Akio answered as the three of you found some seats. They were close enough for the players to see you from the court.
“I hear that the first years were promising. Two had this crazy quick, one was good at blocking, and one knew how to do a jump float,” Etsu chipped in. Indeed, the first years of Karasuno were impressive, but the whole team was on another level.
The first match of Karasuno started, and it made you freeze.
Nishinoya switched out with Hinata, eyes glancing towards the bleachers. With that quick glance, he was able to see Akio immediately and waved. He looked over to the two girls sitting beside him, identifying one as Etsu.
The arm he'd used to wave was left hanging in the air, as you were staring intently at him, shock written all over your face.
That wasn't what surprised him. Not the fact that you came to the game, not the fact that you were staring at him. No, those weren't it.
You were wearing an off shoulder top, showing off your collarbone.
Your collarbone which had the exact same tattoo as his.
His heart shattered at the next thing he noticed.
Your tattoo was blue.
His was gold.
You were the love of his life, but he was a stranger in yours.

so march can bloom
DATE:  16.02.2020 MUSE:  MARCH HARE WITH:  AKIO ‘NIBS’  IZUMI ( @omuse  )
                                  (  tw:  kidnapping  ,  blood  ,  injury  ,  torture   )
the clock ticks, the clock tocks-- the pocket watch in his slacks tapping away the passage of time, rhythmic and dependable. 'he'll be back,' march thinks. he sits on the bench until the ice of the lemonade melts, sunflower yellow diluting to primrose, condensation pooling around the paper cup. he waits until the sun sets and the lamps are lit, flickering fires and shadows, one side of his face illuminated.
wrong, wrong, wrong.
something is wrong.
perhaps he'd overstepped with the kiss. he's aware that nibs hasn't been touched in the way march's appetite leans-- wet mouths and skin, slick fingers and teeth. perhaps he'd moved too quickly. the drink is now lukewarm, and march stands and abandons it.
he knows where to look.
---
"isn't nibs with you?" it's an accusation. rufio blocks the door to his bedroom, shoulder to the wooden frame as he waits for an answer. march is taller. rufio's forced to look up. but the way this lost boy watches and weighs him makes march feel insignificant-- a moth pinned to a spreading board, wings open for scrutiny.
"he was."
"was?"
he's not certain if rufio is angry. nibs' friend always has a pinched look to him, knotted in his brows and the corners of his mouth. it's better suited for men twice rufio's age, but march listens to nibs when he speaks so he's aware of rufio's burdens. that to protect his family this boy shoulders them, heavy and hoarded, refusing to share. so march nods, understanding him. he too has a brother and burdens. "was. if he's not here i'll check at his father's." he turns to leave but rufio catches the sleeve of his jacket. march has cut fingers off for less.
"will you--" the boy stops. so march finishes for him. "when i find him i'll let you know."
when. not if.
when, when, when.
--
nibs is not at julian's. march doesn't enter. simply watches from windows and peers through doors. the royal family bustles unconcerned through dinner-- roast pig and rose water, the stain of wine on lips and 4 pieces by ludovico einaudi on the piano. march stops to drink water, before his feet take him to his old room. the doorknob sticks and the air is stale when he steps inside. he’s at his apartment more often now, where the sun is warmer and nibs’ art is on the walls.
march stops.
there, on his bed, are pages of a calendar. january ripped to four pieces, february to two, and march stainless and whole. he doesn't breath, gaze flickering to dark corners but his guest is gone.
january was bled dry. february was poisoned. all so march can bloom.
he picks up the page of the calendar with his namesake. underneath is a set of pictures, and march clicks on the lamp to better see, flooding the room in yellow light.
nibs--
blood in the grit of teeth, bruises mottled over a swollen eye. there are cruel hands in the boy's hair and the arch of nibs' neck is strained, sinew tense and throat bared. there is a ring on the hand holding his love that march recognizes. he has one to match on his right ring finger. silver, a ruby heart in the grip of emerald thorns. there are only twelve made-- january through december. but only march is left, and the new april is still training and has yet to earn it.
march's hands shake as he pockets the pictures.
he knows where to go.
--
he travels to witzend, and turns north to reach the shore of the crimson sea. there, hunched on a cliff is an old lighthouse with white brick and red roses strangling the stone, thick vines wrapped around as high as the gallery. when march approaches the lantern pane is lit.
"you found me." sing song voice chiming from a distance, carried by the sea breeze from the cliff where a man stands, waiting. march approaches and stops, within reach of the figure and answers, "i did." he turns his head. february's profile is the same-- sharp nose curved at the tip, thin lips curled at the corners, but when the viper shifter angles his body to face him march notes that one of february's black eyes is coated milky white. blind.
march doesn't flinch when february steps in, and has to tip his chin up to hold february’s eye. he'd always been the shortest of the three boys his master raised on knives. the air by the ocean is chilled, and march's words ghost out with mist. "nobody else played those games with me."
"and you always had a knack of figuring them out. clever, clever march."
march knows not to ask where nibs is, just as he'd known to come alone. january, february and himself had no secrets. he thinks, perhaps, that's why january died. because his friend had known that if he'd abandoned the mission to survive? march would have killed him anyway. perhaps it's why february survived. because the wounded viper had known that their master’s wants came first, and march would leave him behind. never a secret between them. so march doesn't smile, and doesn't move when february kisses him with a hand around his throat.
march’s lips move as he speaks over the kiss. "you always did love your clues, rue."
"i do, i do. not as much as i love you."
february draws back and leads, march follows. they creep up the winding steps, heels echoing until they reach the watchroom door where march's nose twitches at the smell of blood.
nibs--
february opens the door. "we've both done terrible things. haven't we, march? i've been telling your boy all about it."
march doesn't dare breath, move, biting his lip to avoid making a sound. there is an axe dangling over nibs' head that he knows is dipped in poison, and the rabbit is broken, bleeding, broken and march's heart cracks even as his resolve grows forceful. he did this. foolish, march hare. thinking he could love a beautiful boy and indulge in that pleasant, plain happiness he’d always coveted.
he knows what february needs from him to allow nibs to live.
march takes a knee, then two and bares his throat looking up. "i'm sorry." he doesn't want nibs to see. "look away."
february partially shifts-- fangs curling past his lips and eyes slit. "we left january alone." he kneels next to march, and digs his fingers over the hare’s pulse point. if the viper bites there march will have minutes before the skin turns black, and less than that before it reaches his brain, his heart. "i think we should all die properly together this time, don't you think?"
the dream nibs had given him is ending. but march keeps his eyes open.

past and present.
DATE:  16.02.2020 MUSE:  AKIO  ‘NIBS’  IZUMI WITH:  MARCH  HARE  (  @terrvrs  )
                                  (  tw:  kidnapping  ,  blood  ,  injury  ,  torture   )
it's been a lovely day- so much that the shifter can't stop smiling from one ear to another as he sits on the bench, waiting for march, looking through the bag of candies they bought. it's a perfect date- anything he could have wanted and more. and where his boyfriend pressed kisses; his nose and his lips- they tingle, bringing a flush to his cheeks at the memory. he wants to kiss him again, and again- feeling giddy at the prospect. after everything at the party- it feels like things are looking up again, lost boys in one piece, healthy and happy- march by his side — nibs feels truly content, smiling to himself as he sits.
a few minutes pass- and from the corner of his eyes, when he sees a figure approaching him, the first thing he thinks is that it's march, bringing them drinks. however, it's someone else instead, a stranger, looking out of breath, panicked- meeting nibs' eyes as if searching for him. the sight is enough for him to stand up, the bag of candies discarded on the bench, eyebrows furrowed. "sir, what's- what's wrong?" one hand goes to the man's shoulder to comfort, and he can't be much older, in his early thirties the oldest. but what he speaks next is enough to send a shiver down nibs' spine.
"it's — it's march- you're his friend, right? something- something happened, and he needs you- can you come with me? it's urgent-" the man utters out, looking around, as if hiding from something- and nibs' eyes widen, heart beating faster in his chest. there isn't even a second of doubt before he nods. "what's wrong? is he okay?" and before he can ask more, the man grabs him by the wrist, pulling him along. worry is stark in the shifter’s mind, adrenaline in rising his veins as he follows the stranger, desperate for answers.
he's taken through odd streets before it grows quieter, the man's steps being to slow down, yet seemingly, there is no one in sight. "where is he?" nibs lets out, and when the man turns to face him, the expression on his face is completely gone, replaced by a grin that sends a shiver down nibs' spine. "w-what?" is all he can let out before a hand grabs him from behind, covering his nose and mouth with a wet cloth. at first, he attempts to struggle, but soon enough, everything turns to black. the last thing he sees is the stranger grinning, walking towards him- and then, nothing.
                                                                          —
as nibs slowly wakes up, his ears ring, an odd headache pulsing at his temples. he feels as if he's underwater, his surroundings blurry and grey. it all starts to become clearer as he blinks. the next thing the shifter notices is that he is bound to a chair, ropes tight around his wrists at the back of it, digging into his skin. his legs seem to be bound as well as he tries to move, finding himself unable to. and that realization is enough for panic to seep in, adrenaline kicking back as he looks around, finding himself in an empty room, trying to squirm out of his restraints.
soon enough, it's clear that it's in vain, and he hears footsteps approaching from afar, making the breath hitch in his throat. where is he? what the hell just happened? all he can remember is the festival, and march, the candy stand — and it all blurs into nothing, headache worsening as he tries to remember. before he can think more, the door opens, and a man enters his line of sight, bringing more memories in his wake. march. the man said march was in trouble- where is he now? is he safe?
"it- it's you- where's march- what did you —" nibs tries, but it's cut short. the man suddenly backhands him, making his head snap to side, a gasp leaving his lips. the left side of his face throbs with pain, and where the ring scratched the skin, he feels a trickle of blood falling down to his chin.  "be quiet." the man utters, and when nibs finds the courage to look up again, he sees satisfaction on the man's face, amplifying the fear in his chest. not just for him, but for his lover as well- if he's in another room, if he's alright — but he stops himself from asking, waiting for the man to talk.
"the name is february. does that ring a bell?" he begins, and nibs can only stare a second too long, slowly shaking his head. apparently, that only seems to anger the man further, a huff of breath leaving his lips. he edges closer, fingers nearing his chin- and while nibs awaits a second hit, it doesn't come. instead, the man's face nears his own, eyes meeting his. while one is black, the other is discolored, perhaps even sightless. when february continues, the man's breath tickles nibs’ face, and he wishes he could move away.
"it makes sense he wouldn't talk about me- leaving me behind to rot. why would he mention that? ... it was always a competition, and march- your perfect little marchie-" the affectionate nickname is spat out, making nibs flinch, shaking in the man's hold. "it was always him who won — and isn't that unfair? how he became the favourite while january is now six feet underground- and i was- i was left for dead. thought to be useless." the hold on his face tightens, nails digging into his skin- pulling a wince out of him- and it's gone a moment later, the man standing up, humorless laugh falling from his lips.
it's scarier than the smug expression on his face- the sudden shift of emotions, and when two other men enter the room and stand by the door, he attempts to sit up, not knowing what to expect. when his gaze is back to february, however, the man looks at him with an odd expression on his face, seemingly shifted from anger to- curiosity? satisfaction again? it's hard to pinpoint, and when nibs attempts to speak next- his words are rushed. "i don't- i don't understand- wh- where's —"
without regard for what the younger just said, the man begins to walk towards him again, steps slow. then, there is a hand in nibs’ hair, tangling in the red strands, snapping his head back. "odd... so very odd." as if he didn't hear any of his questions, february continues, his other hand trailing lines down the shifter's face, eyes trailing over his features. "he picked you? and for what? is he so foolish to hope his past wouldn't come back? every little thing he has done- does he pretend they don't exist?"
the silence goes on a while longer; it's uncomfortable, feeling the man's fingers on his face, the way his own neck is stretched back— and suddenly it's gone again, as if the man came into a realization on his own, by the way the grin has returned to his face. "it doesn't matter now- does it? i have you- and i'm going to make him regret everything he did to me." and just like that, as if a switch has been turned, the man's hand curls into a fist, then it strikes down. pain explodes on one side of his face, and when the chair tips and falls to the side, nibs’ head collides with the floor, temple hitting the cold surface, blinding pain taking over his mind.
when nibs snaps back to reality, he can barely focus, breaths labored, one eye shut from the force of the punch from before. from the corner of his eye, he sees the man coming towards him, and seconds later, he's kicked in the stomach, unable to breathe as he screams, shaking his head- trying to will the pain away. blood bubbles from his mouth as it drips to the floor, and idly, he knows he has to hold on- but it's been a long time since he felt pain like this, taking over his entire frame, making him writhe on the ground.
it's followed by a few more kicks, and there is nothing he can do but take it, trying to hold on. time takes an odd quality- and suddenly, it all stops- and he manages to open one eye to look up, to find the man grinning down at him. "that should be enough for now- ready for a picture, pretty boy?" the next thing he knows is that there are hands on him and he's upright again. unable to hold his head up, it rests against his chest. his face is a mess of bruises and blood, and the shirt he picked up carefully for their date is now stained dark.
there is a hand in his hair again, making him look up, a camera shutter clicking a few times. it's a moment too late that he realizes they are going to send it to march, and it's that thought that makes him squirm again, wrists rubbed raw against the ropes. "no- no—" his voice is coarse as he speaks, shaking his head, looking up at the man. "don't- don't hurt him- marchie- i can't- i don't —" february hushes him, one hand under his chin, and when nibs meets his eyes, he's scared to see excitement there.
"we'll see how it goes when your marchie turns up. i can't wait to see him again." and with that, the man leaves the room, leaving nibs all alone. now, all nibs can think about is march, and he repeats to himself like a mantra that his lover will be alright- he'll come and save him and they'll go home — safe, together. it's the only sliver of hope nibs holds onto, and a while later, the pain all over his body lulls him into an uncomfortable sleep.

Todofam Month, day five: 冷
Yukimi
AO3 Link
Todofam Month masterpost
@todofammonth
Notes: The kanji 冷 means cold, and it is the kanji for Rei’s name. “Yukimi” can be written a few different ways. 雪見 means “snow viewing” and refers to watching the snow fall. 雪美 is a girl’s name, and consists of the kanji for snow and beauty.
Rei wiped the sweat from her brow and set aside her snow shovel. She stretched backwards, her hands on her hips, to relieve the ache in her back from the exertion of shoveling an entire driveway and sidewalk. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, relishing the feeling of the cold air slicing through her lungs.
“Thank you so much Koorihada-san,” Muraoka said, hobbling down the now snow free walkway. She rummaged through her purse. “Let me get you some money...”
“Please don’t,” Rei said, waving her hands in front of her face. “I really don’t need any.”
Muraoka pulled a white envelope out of her purse and pointed it at Rei with a glint in her eye. “You will take this money, or I will break into your house and leave it under the pillow.”
Rei hesitated. Muraoka was a sweet old lady, but she did some wild stuff sometimes. (No one in town was likely to forget the incident at the mayor’s office.) She might actually do it. Rei reluctantly took the envelope. She wasn’t in the position to be turning it down.
“Thank you, Muraoka-san,” Rei said quietly.
Muraoka waved her hand dismissively. “Think nothing of it. Buy yourself something nice. Tell your mother and father hello from me.”
“I will.” Rei bowed and said her goodbyes.
The walk back home was short, but refreshing. Wind combed through her hair, cooling her, and the falling snow whirled in little tornadoes.
When she reached her house, instead of going straight inside she headed around the fence to the garden. She brushed a thick layer of snow off of the wooden bench, sat down, and pulled off her gloves. She reached out and caught snowflakes on the palm of her hand—tiny, fragile crystals, barely visible against her skin. They didn’t melt.
The snow laden branches of the trees swayed under their burden. Snowflakes swirled around Rei, and stuck in her hair and on her eyelashes.
Many other people wouldn’t be able to stand being out in this weather in only jeans, a jacket, and thin gloves, but not Rei. She could sit outside and watch the snow fall for hours. She had watched for hours, hypnotized, as clumps of snowflakes floated to earth to turn everything white.
Hokkaido really was the perfect place for a family full of ice quirks.
“Rei! Look what I’ve got!”
Rei startled, shook out of her daydreaming, and turned towards the voice. Her sister, Yukimi, grinned back at her over the fence. She energetically waved a brown paper bag over her head.
Yukimi shoved the top of the bag between her teeth, grabbed the large, metal gate that opened to their courtyard with both hands, and pulled with all her strength. The gate groaned as it slowly opened. Yukimi was small, even for a fourteen year old, and the gate was heavy to begin with.
She skipped over to Rei and sat down next to her. She opened the bag and a tantalizing aroma wafted out. Rei’s stomach twisted in hunger. She hadn’t realized how long it had been since she last ate. It was almost dusk already.
“Akio-kun from the bakery gave me their left over kare pan. Here, have some.”
Rei fished one of the buns out of the bag. There were quite a few in there. She bit in and hummed appreciatively. The Ueda family made their kare pan entirely from scratch, including the curry. Nothing tasted quite as good.
“You do know he has a crush on you, right?” she said after taking another bite.
Yukimi made a funny face. “He does not. Why does everybody say that? He’s just really nice. That’s why he’s so popular.”
Rei smiled at her sister’s naivety. There was no way that this much kare pan was left over at the end of the day without someone setting them aside for her. Winter was the most popular time of the year for them.
“An’way,” Yukimi said around a mouthful of kare pan. She swallowed. “Did Muraoka-san pay you? She better have. Her driveway is huge and she’s loaded.”
Rei sighed and shook her head. Her sister was far too focused on money. “She did.”
Rei handed over the envelope. Yukimi stuck the rest of her bread in her mouth, her cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk’s, and ripped the envelope open. She choked and spat her mouthful of food out into the snow.
“Ten thousand yen? Wow. Maybe I’ll shovel her driveway next time!”
Rei took the money back. Ten thousand yen. That was a lot more than she expected. (Todoroki-san offered her thirty million yen to marry him.)
“You’re too busy studying for your entrance exams and practicing your figure skating to worry about things like that.”
Yukimi scoffed and kicked the snow. “I don’t know why I have to go to high school. I’m almost old enough to compete in seniors. I don’t need school to skate. It’ll just take up too much of my time.”
Rei sighed. This again. “You won’t be able to skate forever. You’ll need at least a high school education, if not a college degree, if you want to go into coaching.”
“I guess.” Yukimi slouched over, arms crossed, and glared at her feet.
She needed new skates soon. She might be small for her age, but recently her body seemed to be determined to catch up. Already her shoes from last year were too tight for her. Ill fitting or worn out equipment could result in an injury or worse.
Between skates, costumes, and coaching fees, it added up. Not to mention the cost of flying her out to various competitions. Yukimi was good, but the prize money was too little and too unpredictable to cover it all.
If Rei accepted Todoroki-san’s offer, the money would cover all that and more for years.
“Where are Mom and Dad?” Yukimi asked.
“They’re working on a commission. They won’t be home until well after dark.”
“Which one? The ice castle or the giant snow lady?”
“Ice castle.”
Rei didn’t like that her parents worked such long hours in the winter. But they were among the best snow sculptors in Japan, and there was a lot of work available for them this time of year. They had to save up for the summer, when there wasn’t high demand for snow sculptures and money was tight.
Rei loved the snow. It was in her blood. If she married Todoroki-san she’d have to move south, where it barely snowed in the winter and the summers were scorching and humid. She’d be so far away from her family. She wouldn’t see them that often, even if they had enough money to travel.
Arranged marriages weren’t common nowadays, but they weren’t unheard of. Rei knew a few people in arranged marriages and they seemed happy enough. Todoroki was upfront about why he wanted to marry her. She could work with that.
Rei didn’t love Todoroki, she barely knew him, but she was never the romantic sort in the first place. She never dreamed of her wedding or what she would name her children. She always thought that if it happened, it happened, and if she never met someone she wanted to marry she’d just live her life single and be perfectly happy either way.
Her parents said it was her decision. They didn’t try to influence her either way. It was her future and her choice. She didn’t have to choose right now.
(Her family could really use that money.)
Rei took another bite of her kare pan and watched the snow fall around her.

Animage September 2017 Special Feature - Rebellious Individual, Fudou Akio
Since it was just August, the 8th month, let's support all players with the shirt number 8! A special feature about everyone's beloved Fudou-san!
Fudou Akio
CV: Kaji Yuuki
At first he was said to be a proudly independent rebellious individual, but through personal hardships he's gradually demonstrated his character development. Basically, he's not a bad guy.
-Fudou from the Super Dimensional Dream Match. Was he the one who taught Hakuryuu and Baddap how to use Koutei Penguin #2?
-Photo collection from Inazuma Japan's victory. Someone wearing a number 8 shirt is shaking hands with a mysterious guy in a red cape.
-Fudou from Ares no Tenbin. He's wearing a horizontally striped t-shirt and a purple cardigan. It's the same style as his clothes from GO - is this his preferred fashion style?
-According to Coach Kudou's strategy, he became a bench warming joker during the Asian preliminaries.
-He says more with his eyes? Fudou is a very blunt person but in actual fact he makes a variety of expressions. From a suspicious face, to a face full of contempt, to a shocked face - his expressions are more honest than you might think! We've highlighted some of his expressions in this feature.
In the previous IE series, Fudou Akio made his debut with a guest appearance during the Shin Teikoku Gakuen arc. During the formation of Inazuma Japan he made a sudden second appearance as the number 8 player and he continued to wear number 8 as a member of the Battle Eleven. At the beginning he was quite an outrageous character.
However while he did nothing but bench warm during the Asian preliminaries, fans laughed along with his wisecracks. He's had a rivalry with Kidou too, but while they fought together the distance between them had shrunk and in the end you can even catch a fleeting glimpse of them shaking hands. In the GO series he makes several appearances as a helpful character to the kids. Though he may seem board and contrary, he is a firmly loved character.
Finally in the new series Ares no Tenbin since Aliea Gakuen's take over no longer exists in this parallel world, his role and relationship with Teikoku is still unclear. In any case, he still wears the same mohawk as his Inazuma Japan self (white streak included) but what will his personality be like this time? Does he have any friends? What's the financial situation of his family like? We're super interested in everything about him!
-Expressions from when he was a member of Inazuma Japan in the previous series. Compared with his Ares self, has his expressions gotten a little bit softer?
-In the previous series, while he was under the influence of the Aliea meteorite he made several psychotic expressions...
-He's not the only one! Here are some number 8 players from the previous series!
 Matsukaze Tenma (Raimon Junior)
Carrot Boy (Raimon Junior)
Teikoku Shrimp (Teikoku Gakuen)

Inazuma Eleven ☆ Harry Potter AU  |  Magical Familiars
Anonymous said to inazuma-hpau: Could you maybe do a headcanon about the familiars that some of the original cast would own at Hogwarts?
I actually haven’t thought about familiars for the IE kids! Here are a couple of the original cast and the familiars they would probably have!
Endou Mamoru Endou has a tawny owl which his parents bought him as a present before he left for Hogwarts. He writes to his parents as often as he can and his mother sends him family cooking and baking because she “doesn’t want her growing son to go hungry”. He also sends many letters to his quidditch friends from the other eleven schools Ichinose Kazuya, Mark Kurger and Dylan Keith from Ilvermorny, Mac Roniejo and Teres Tolue from Castelobruxo, Rococo Urupa from Uagadou, Edgar Valtinas, Hidetoshi Nakata and Fideo Ardena  Beauxbatons Academy just to name a few. His owl often pecks him in the head when he feels exhausted because Endou ends up sending way too many letters around the world, tiring the bird out.
Gouenji Shuuya Gouenji has a moderate sized white/silverish cat which was the son of his mother’s cat. Every year when he leaves for Hogwarts, his innocent and carefree younger sister Yuuka has a massive breakdown on platform 9 3/4 - not because his brother is leaving, but because his cat is. As Yuuka is still a little rough with her love, she often pats, squishes and cuddles Gouenji’s familiar to the point of uncomfortability for the the poor cat, so he is happy to escape away to hogwarts with Gouenji.
Kidou Yuuto Kidou has a large screech owl which his stepfather had given him before his first year at Hogwarts. Although he has always wanted to have a cat, his stepfather had always said that cats, toads and frogs were all disgusting, dirty creatures and that all Kidou’s should have elegant, beautiful owls as their familiars. He doesn’t argue with his stepfather as Haruna’s own tabby cat took an immediate liking to him - often visiting Kidou at Slytherin and sometimes saying the night with him. Sakuma and Fudou have also mentioned at one point that his owl’s red eyes looks exactly like his does when he doesn’t wear his goggles.
Fudou Akio Fudou has a black cat with white streaks which he befriended in his younger days. Before Hogwarts, he used to play for a local quidditch team within the town. Although all of the team disliked or hated him (being the son of a known deatheater), they were technically not allowed to ban him from joining the team. They were, however, allowed to bench him at every game to stop him from playing with them. He was super frustrated being forced to watch from the sidelines while his teammates got to have all the fun playing, but he didn’t want to leave the team out of pride and not giving in to what his teammates wanted. During one game sitting on the bench, a tiny black kitten hesitantly approached him. Fudou, being the kind soul he was, gave him a little bit of the food he was snacking on and gently stroked him. Since then, the little kitten visited Fudou every week he was on the bench and after a few years came along with Fudou when he went to Hogwarts - he gained such a liking to him, he didn’t want to leave his side.
Fubuki Shirou & Atsuya They have two kittens obtained from the same litter.  Surprisingly both cats obtain the personality of the other sibling. Despite his innate talent to attract and instantly bond with any magical creature, Shirou’s light ginger tabby is always running off, stealing food from the great hall, climbing/knocking down things he’s not supposed to and cause mischief in general. He always goes missing the moment Shirou’s back is turned and Shirou ends up running around the school trying to find him.
Atsuya’s Russian Blue is more timid and shy than her brother. She’s always clinging to Atsuya, often hiding behind his legs whenever she comes across a new person. Although he doesn’t like to show it to anyone besides his brother, Atsuya absolutely adores his cat. He loves to cuddle it, rub his face against his fur and let her sleep on his bed.
Sun Garden Children
Despite the kids having their own familiars, because they spend all their time together, they end up looking after each others too. Kiyama Hiroto has a brown owl which he often sends letters to his step-father updating him on how him and the other sun garden children are doing.
Midorikawa Ryuuji, Yagami Reina and Suzuno Fuusuke all have cats. Midorikawa has a lazy half cat, half kneazle, often with an angry attitude which took a liking to him because he doesn’t force his familiar to do anything he doesn’t want. He just hisses and Midorikawa leaves him alone to sulk in all his angry furball-ness to avoid getting scratched.
Both Reina’s Siamese Cat and Suzuno’s White cat are both very spoilt cats and don’t listen to anyone besides them. They are often found lounging around on hot surfaces when the sun is out and demand good cooked premium meals like salmon - not the disgusting canned stuff bought from the store.
Nagumo on the other hand has a rat. He loves how small rats are and how easily manageable they can be (unlike the cats the other 3 has) and not too boring (like Hiroto’s owl is). He often uses his rat as a guinea pig for all the spells he is trying out so on occasion his familiar can be seen a different shape, colour, object or animal. Often when his rat does go missing, the first people he blames are Midorikawa, Suzuno and Reina, but in reality, their three cats would be too lazy to even chase his rat.
… it’s actually Fudou’s cat that steals his rat.
Saginuma Osamu is one of the few people who don’t have familiar because he’s so sick of the other Sun Children’s familiars harassing him - Hiroto’s owl attempting to peck his eyes out, Nagumo’s rat biting his fingers and Midorikawa’s, Reina’s and Suzuno’s cats all scratching him all over his body.
Kogure Yuuya Obviously a toad. Just a common toad, nothing more special than the connection between Kogure and his toad. He loves to play pranks with his toad and is never without him. He loves letting his toad loose and causing havoc on everyone in his year group (the girls hate it the most), especially Ravenclaw’s Otonashi Haruna - probably because he finds her a challenge and she’s the only one who never lets him get away his pranks.
Tachimukai Yuuki As a muggle born wizard, Tachimukai is amazed by the concept of being able to even have owls as familiars or pets. The first time he walked into Eeylops Owl Emporium & Magical Menagerie he just about fainted from excitement. He asks his Tawny Owl to send letters home to his parents once a week talking about all his adventures in the wizarding world - despite his parents never really understanding what he's talking about.
Utsunomiya Toramaru Toramaru has a ginger cat with what looks like a few dark stripes on it’s back. His familiar is a lot smaller than other cats and was the runt of the litter he was from. Toramaru’s cat is a very energetic cat, often climbing on Torumaru’s trousers, cloaks, jumpers and occasionally a tree which he cannot get down from. As Torumaru’s cat is incredibly energetic, it gets tired just as easily and takes naps often - sometimes falling asleep in the strangest of places (sometimes in his school bag or in the hood of one of the Gryffindor boy’s uniforms. It was a slight scare to their goalkeeper Genda Koujirou, who felt the sudden wriggling in shirt as he tried to get ready for practise in the changing rooms.
