Hi babe! I have never used Photopea before, but it looks similar to PS. I am going to do my best to explain what I think is the easiest way to make a PFP in it.

Before we start, you need 2 things:

1) A PNG image you would like to use. There are plenty of free PNG packs on Deviantart.com to choose a picture from. I am using one from this pack.

In case you don't have a RAR file opener (most PNG packs are compressed into a RAR file) you can convert RAR files to ZIP files here. Once it's converted to a ZIP file, open it and find the PNG you want to use. Keep it somewhere you can easily find it.

2) Download this PSD

Alright, here we go!

Step 1) Open Photopea at https://www.photopea.com/

Step 2) Open the PSD file in Photopea via File>Open, or by dragging the file and dropping it into the work area. Click on the layer called "png image".

Step 3) Drag your PNG into your workspace. It should be placed beneath the folder "Ky's PSD" and above the circle called "change color". Delete the original PNG image of Lisa from BP (I left it in so you could play around with the original file if you wanted)

Step 4) Holding down the SHIFT key, click and drag any of the handles (the little squares) to resize your image to your preferred size. You can click anywhere on the image and move your mouse to reposition it or use your arrow keys to move it pixel by pixel.

TIP: If you accidentally click out of the transform mode image, go to Edit>Free Transform

Step 5) Holding down the Option/ALT key, click and drag the "change color" layer's Mask (the black and white circle square) to the png layer in the Layers Panel.

Now both layers should have a circle mask.

Step 6) Right-click the layer preview on the png image (literally right-click where the face is) and click "Select Pixels".

The original image outline should now have marching ants.

Step 7) Click the PNG layer's mask (black and white circle square) and click the paintbrush on your left-side toolbar. Make sure your forefront color is white in the bottom left corner.

Step 8) Now paint back in the parts you want to show. For this icon, I want the hat to show, so I paint over where her hat is not showing. This brings it back into view.

Step 9) Click Select>Deselect

Step 10) Holding down the Option/ALT key, click and drag the mask on the PNG layer to the PSD folder (I put my PSD in this file, but you can download and use any PSD you want. Just open it in Photopea and copy and paste the layers into this file.) All 3 layers in the Layers panel should have a mask now.

Step 11) If you have extra transparent space that needs to be cropped out, click the Crop tool on the left toolbar. Holding down the SHIFT key, click a handle (square) and move it to where it touches the corners of the PNG or circle, whichever your particular image needs.

You can also use the arrow keys to move the crop circle around, or use your mouse tool. Once it is placed where you want, press the Enter key.

For this icon, I cropped out some extra space on the left and right sides.

Step 12) Select the PNG preview image again, and click Filter>Sharpen>Smart Sharpen, and set it to 200% and 0.3 pixels.

Step 13) Export your icon by clicking File>Export as>PNG and click save.

Your icon is now ready to upload. Here is how this one turned out:

We’re on it! Particularly, what we’re doing right now is identifying what the root cause of this issue is. That means, we’re investigating what specific actions during gameplay do lead to the lag? This is the first step we need to take because the simulation/autonomy lag is not the actual issue, it’s rather a symptom that can have dozens of different causes. If the lag has happened in your game, you’ve probably experienced the following most common manifestations of this symptom:

Sims standing around doing nothing

Sims not doing anything on their own (with free will set to max)

Sims take forever to do a given command

Time jumping backwards after fast forwarding to Ultra Speed. The Sims will usually freeze while fast forwarded.

Sims come home late from school

FPS Drops

Once we identify what specific actions and circumstances lead to the lag, we’ll know what we need to work on. And the best way to find out, is by analysing your save files! The more save files we can analyse the higher the chance we’ll be able to find the cause soon. That said, please continue your awesome support and keep sending us your save files whenever you experience the lag!

How to share your save files

Please provide the following information when sending your save files. You can send your info through this form or DM SimGuruNick directly on AHQ.

Basic Information about your computer (CPU, Operating System, Amount of RAM, Graphics Card, Hard Drive Space). This is not to blame your computer for the issue but to see what kinds of systems this issue is occurring on)

Things you can try in the meantime

Empty out your Sims inventories (all households you have ever played)

Reduce the amount of objects in your house

Play in a smaller house with less art pieces and stuff lying around

If you over-clocked your computer, check how it goes if you revert that.

Once the freezing occurs, try saving your game (save as), go to your options and back or press M or to go to the world map and back

Lower Graphics settings

If you play with higher resolution than 1920×1080, try lowing to 1920×1080

Go to the Audio settings and remove the check next to Enable Mood Sting

Make sure you fulfill the minimum requirements of the game

Reduce the amount of mods and cc you use

Start a new game (completely shut down the game, then restart it and start a new save game)

Move your Sims to a new game

What personality traits were updated in the last patch?

Bookworm

Bookworm Sims will prefer to choose reading activities autonomously over other Fun actions.

NPC Bookworm Sims will be seen carrying books where possible.

Cheerful

When a Cheerful Sim socializes with a non-Cheerful / non-happy Sim, that Sim has the chance to get a Tense ‘Cheered to Death’ buff.

Cheerful Sims will autonomously try and perk up Gloomy Sims

Negative emotional buffs will decay faster than usual when Cheerful Sims are in a Happy mood.

Cheerful Sims have a greater chance of success with Friendly socials when in a Happy mood.

Clumsy

Clumsy Sims have a chance of failure when engaging in sporting activities like Using a Treadmill, Ice Skating, Snowboarding or Skiing.

Clumsy Sims have a chance of stumbling when walking around – this will elicit a response from nearby Sims.

Clumsy Sims with higher Handiness have a lesser chance of breaking objects.

Clumsy Sims have a small additional chance of breaking certain electronic devices like the Computer, Research Machine, Juice Fizzer, Cupcake Machine, Games Console, Arcade Machine and Popcorn Maker.

Genius

Genius Sims have a chance of a ‘Eureka Moment’ while showering or bathing that gives a small amount of skill for a random skill they already have,

Hates Children Sims get a Happy ‘Quiet Environment Child-free Zone’ buff if away from children for a time.

Hot Headed

Hot Headed Sims who get pranked have a greater chance of getting Angry.

Having other Sims Enthuse about things can make Hot Headed Sims Angry.

Hot Headed Sims get Angry if they lose career performance

Hot Headed Sims won’t be targeted by other Sims as for Mischief actions.

Hot Headed Sims get Angry at failed romance attempts (giving or receiving).

Jealous

Jealous Sims get a new interaction “Talk through issues” which gives a chance of a reduced duration of negative Buffs from less serious Jealous buffs

If they do achieve a better quality during this buff, they gain an Inspired ‘Focused Payoff’ buff.

What’s coming

We’re including the updated retro style Large Afro and a new Short Afro into the next patch update. Both hairs will be available for adults, children and toddlers.

We’ll also add six new hair colors in a future patch. In our Inside Maxis livestream on 4/27 we stated the colors will be updated in the next patch. However, the update will not happen in the upcoming but in a future patch instead. We apologize for any confusion.

Last but not least, there will be new Asian eye presets that specifically are intended to bring in more options for east Asian representation. We’ve received some feedback from you about adding more diverse body features in CAS and this is part of our ongoing effort to continue updating the game to bring in more diverse content that allows users to re-create their authentic selves in game. We appreciate your ongoing and passionate engagement to support us in making this game the best it can be!

Our approach

We put a lot of effort into delivering the most authentic design to make sure we create hair and body features that are truthful to representation. We did loads of research and took inspiration from real world examples. But we also talked to a variety of people such as our ERGs (Employee Resource Group) and most importantly, to the Game Changers that consulted us on skintones.

Why is the hair red?

During the development process, we use a lighter color – red or orange – because it’s easier to better see highlights and shadows when designing the hair. Working with darker colors off the bat can be more difficult because noticing the contrast can be tricky. Once we have the hair completed, we translate it into the different colors and adjust the levels from there.

Make certain you selected the appropriate variant matching your Operating System (O.S.) to avoid any difficulties.

 Installations:

Before we start, make sure to extract everything if it's in a .rar format.

 Installing MapleStory v83:

 Install MapleStory with the download provided. It is a really straight forward installation. Follow the instructions.

 Delete the following files/folders in the C:/MapleStoryV83 folder should they exist.

 MapleStory.exe

Patcher.exe

GameLauncher.exe

shield (folder)

Installing WampServer:

Follow the directions and install it.

 C:\Wamp

 Don't be concerned about putting your email and these at the end. Just press finish.

 Left-click it and click put Online'.

 Then left-click it again and click on begin All Services.'

 The Wamp icon must look totally green (if it is red or reddish, you have a problem).

 Installing the MySQL Query Browser:

It is straightforward, runs the installation record, agrees to the conditions, and follow the instructions.

 According to which system kind your computer as you may install 32bit or 64bit.

So set up the corresponding file.

For another simple installation, follow the directions.

Documents placement:

Paste them into these areas, overwrite when prompted.

(The (jdk1)/(jre7) folder version could differ. It is fine ). C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_01\jre\lib

3. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_01\jre\lib\safety

Copy each of the folders and files within the ZenthosDev folder that we made before. So it seems in this way.

 Now replicate the W.Z. folder within the ZenthosDev folder.

 So it must look like this.

 SQL setup:

Username: root

 Then click on the document' button in the menu bar, and select open Directory...'.

 Proceed to C:\enthosDev\SQL and open the document called'ZenthosDev.SQL.'

 Following its opening, apply the file.

 Preference installation:

(This component is optional if running the server to Receive your computer only)

 You might also make any alterations to have the server to function how you need it.

 Wait 10 minutes, and then your bat file must look similar to this.

 Is Maplestory’s personal server really safe?

I ask this question as somebody who has been part of the Maplestory personal server" community."

(unsure whether the neighborhood is the best term to describe it, but oh well) to get many of years now. I would not call myself a"host hopper" per se, but I have tried out a decent variety of servers to see what they provide. Most servers market towards Maplers, who prefer the old-school/pre-BB encounter.

 The sole thing that differentiates them will be the attributes they supply. Some have higher or lower EXP/Meso/Drop prices to make things more or harder. Some make H.P. Washing"Optional." Some provide custom content...you get the notion.

 Anyway, this question popped into my mind when I tried out a host known as"AvalonMS." I recall having a few conversations using a streamer there. He was currently looking for a server to repay. This man had hoped that Avalon would perform well. Eventually, he left because he could not see the server becoming successful and remaining alive for more than a few months.

 I really don't remember his precise words. However, I believe he said something along the lines of"Private Servers need to be run with at least a small bit of professionalism, like a business nearly."

Along with the proprietors of this host, since he put it, were not too professional. Among the substantial issues was that they weren't transparent enough with the area concerning what sort of content/updates they'd do with their game. I tried looking around for their host just a minute before. And they appeared to have vanished off the face of the internet. No big surprise there.

 A personal server such as Maplestory has been around. So what is the issue?

I got me wondering how many private servers have been around for a while to stay successful. When I say successful, I usually indicate they could maintain a decently-sized busy player base for an extended period. That, if you consider it, is already hard enough as it is. In any kind, Maplestory, whether it be the official game or the personal servers, isn't a super popular MMO.

 The official sport is nowhere near as popular as it was during its prime. And therefore, you would think the subset of all gamers/Maplers that prefer old-school private servers inside the official game is most likely a pretty little demographic.

 We've got SOME powerful servers such as Royals, Legends, Saga, etc., which have existed for a couple of decades. And these"powerful" servers hold a reasonably large percentage of personal server gamers.

 I mean hell, even as soon as you go past the 6th or even 7th rated server on gtop100, you begin getting into the servers that have less than 100 active players. And needless to say, the personal server community is most likely dwindling.

 There are just so many men and women who have played pre-BB Maple.

And they would prefer it on the modern versions. Finally, those folks will likely proceed with their own lives and stop playing with Maplestory entirely because nostalgia can maintain a player round for such a long time. I must wonder how many more years we have before Maplestory Private Servers die off completely. I hope we have a little bit more.  More Information

CC on a Mac (yay!)

I’ve had a few asks/messages about CC creation on a Mac, so I wanted to share a few tips!!

1. Get familiar with your keyboard and trackpad shortcuts. Blender’s online user manual has a good guide on creating with just a trackpad. Fiddle around in system preferences for your trackpad and keyboard-- I have so many two-finger clicks and four-finger swipes and so on set up that it’s second nature by now, and it really does make a difference!

2. Take advantage of the (few) programs that are available on Mac but not Windows! I use Unarchiver, a really good free program for unpacking .zip and .rar and .7z and whatever else. The default system color picker on Mac (what you will use to pick swatches in S4S) has an eyedropper tool! You can just mouse over your texture (or a palette open in Preview) and select the color you want, no fussing around with hex codes.

3. Be aware of common pitfalls-- for example, apparently when I upload CC it sometimes contains files necessary to function on Mac but that prevent PC games from loading (yay!) Any files that start with “.” or “._” can be deleted without consequence on PC, but are completely invisible on Mac. Also, Sims 4 Studio tutorials may refer to a function that the Mac version doesn’t have yet, so if you can’t find it, don’t tear your hair out!

4. Keep files on an external drive. This one only applies if, like me, you have a laptop with minimal memory. I got my laptop finals week a few years ago when I spilled water on my old one and killed it and I had a paper due the next day, so I just went for the cheapest one. It only has 128 GB of memory (which is semi-common for Macs), but my Sims game with all the packs is upwards of 30 GB, and I have between 15 and 20 GB of CC at any given time, so you can see how things would get dicey. You can set up a redirect so that you can keep all your CC and your game on an external drive that you plug in when it’s Sims time!

5. Get a Windows virtual machine running. Yes, one of the best ways to create on Mac is to... use Windows. Boot Camp isn’t the only option though! I used it for a while but I hated having to restart every time. Now I use Parallels Desktop and I love it! I can have Windows running in its own window but still use all my Mac programs. Programs like Sims 4 Tray Importer, Sims 4 Image Viewer, the Windows version of Sims 4 Studio, and GIMP are Windows-only, all free, and all incredible! (If you’ve never used the color palette tool in Sims 4 Studio, you’re seriously missing out. If you want details on how to get Parallels running, message me! It does cost some money, but it’s cheaper if you’re a student, and if you do a lot of creating it’s SO worth it.

Berry Basketball Jerseys

I got the idea to assign school colors and mascots to each of the sims 4 worlds for my rainbowcy, and here is the first result of this. Each school has three school colors and have a jersey for each color with the name of the town on the front, the mascot name on the back and a number. However, I know that you may want to customize the numbers and put your sims last names on the back, so I am including the .psds for the jersey top so you can customize them to your heart’s content.

Info on files and how to edit the .psd, and other images read below: 

The main .psd includes everything you will need to edit using the colors I picked out myself. I included my recolors of the jersey top in the main colors .rar file if you wish to use different colors for your jerseys (shorts are there as well so they can match). I also have .psd’s for the white jersey’s since i changed the colors for the stripes on the jersey top and the colors for the text. I also included a .rar of my recolors for the jersey stripes specifically since I made it a bit darker. 

When using the .psd you will want to place the jersey color you want right above the “Clip to this layer” layer and right click the layer and choose Create Clipping Mask. This will keep the stripes and symbol white. Place the stripe recolors below this layer, and trim the colors following the white jersey .psds if you wish to do so. To use the colors that have been organized into folders by school, just drag the color you want out of the folder, and do as specified above. When using a color out of the folders, open it in photoshop, copy, paste into the jersey psd right above the Clip to this layer and follow those steps. 

I have folders for the text on the front of the jersey and on the back. Just turn the eye icons on and off for the ones you want to use. If you want to change the text just use the text tool and type new text in it’s place using one of the ones already there as a base. Everything is set to center alignment, so they should remain centered even if you change the text, minus the text on the front of the jersey. You will need to move that to where it looks nice to you.
