Jayvik Highschool AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Context: Jayce and Vi are planning a surprise bd party for Cait. The whole gang helps. Flop Duo. Jayvik.
Jayce found the scene in front of him endearing. He was about to say so, and earn himself glares from both girls, when suddenly he felt his phone buzzing inside his pocket.
He balanced the box he was holding on one hand, and used the other to fish for his phone.
When he finally managed to pull it out he found Viktor flipping him off through the display. Jayce had to smile every time he saw the picture. Vik hated cameras.
"It's Vik. Have to take this", Jayce said, turning around and walking towards the kitchen.
He heard Vi making kissing sounds behind him and he really wished he had a free hand to flip her off.
Jayce accepted the call with a smile on his lips, placing the cardboard box next to the silvery tray Jinx had told them about.
"Hey, V", he greeted, the familiar feeling of tingling anticipation settling in his gut. "How are you?"
It was his opening question for all their calls, and he didn't even have to see Viktor on the other end of the line to know that he was rolling his eyes.
"Hello, Jayce", Vik answered. "As always I am perfectly fine."
Despite sounding annoyed, Jayce could hear the smile in his voice. The tingly sensation spread up to his chest.
"I'm glad to hear that", he said with a chuckle. "What's up?"
"Could you pick me up from my place?"
Jayce frowned, perplexed. "Of course", he answered. "No problem at all, but didn't you say your mom would drive you?"
"Yes, but one of my parents' employees got sick, so they both had to come in today", Viktor said. "I would walk, but there's the snow and also the f- "
"No, no, I'll pick you up, no problem", Jayce blurted, already pushing off the counter. "I can be there in ten."
Pause.
"As I was about to say", Viktor said slowly, like talking to a child (he did that sometimes when Jayce was making too big of a fuzz about him). "The fireworks are too heavy to carry them all at once. Even for you, I assume. So, we need a car."
Jayce frowned. "Too heavy? Vik, what did you buy?"
"I did not buy anything at all", Viktor said leisurely. "I told you I have a friend who owed me a favor. I admit he went a little bit overboard, but he seemed so happy to pay me back. I did not have the heart to turn him down."
"Vik?"
"Yes?"
"On a scale from one to ten, how illegal are talking?"
"Ehh ... maybe a four", Viktor answered after contemplating. "It is not too bad."
Jayce chuckled nervously, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Out of your mouth that doesn't sound reassuring at all."
"You wound me, Jayce", Viktor said deadpan, not wounded in the slightest. "Park in the garage, would you? Backwards, so we can load in the batteries."
"Aye aye, sir", Jayce grinned.
"Humorous", Viktor said, tone dry. "See you soon."
"See you sooner."
Another pause, silence on the other end of the line, just long enough to make Jayce feel anxious. Then Viktor hung up without another word.
Jayce facepalmed himself with a loud smack.
See you sooner?
What the hell?
Sometimes he grew stupid around Viktor. It was his biggest tell for crushing on someone. His brain just stopped working.
Actually, Mel had been the one to point out this fact to him. Right after she had asked him if he was into his best friend and Jayce had tried - very poorly - to deflect the question.
Mel didn't buy it of course. She was too smart, and also she had been Jayce's crush some time ago. There was no way of fooling her in that matter.
So, after poking and poking him about his feelings for Viktor, Jayce finally caved and poured out his heart to her. The sight must've been so pathetic that Mel actually offered to help him.
"See you sooner", Jayce muttered, rubbing his face.
It must be the excitement that made him act extra stupid today. Excitement, because Mel apparently had cooked up some strategy to get him and Viktor closer together during the party tonight.
Speaking of.
Jayce scrolled through his contacts, while walking back into the living room. He opened Mel's chat, typing a quick message.
Jayce: When will you tell me about your plan?
Then he looked up at the two sisters.
"Change of plans", he said, stuffing his phone back into his pocket. "I have to pick up Viktor. Where should we put the fireworks?"
"Backyard", Vi said without looking up, loading arms full of empty spray paint bottles into the trash back Jinx was holding open for her.
His phone buzzed inside his pocket. Jayce reached for it.
"Garage", Jinx corrected her. "They can't get too wet or they'll be ruined. Snow would be bad for them."
Jayce was only half listening. Mel had texted back.
Mel: I don't need you for phase one. Don't want you to overthink and blow it.
Jayce frowned, typing.
Jayce: Phase one? How many are there?
Mel: Depends on how well you perform.
Jayce: ?!
Mel: Calm down, Goldie. I kept it simple.
Jayce: not reassuring :(
Mel: Just keep him company and be yourself. I will handle the rest.
Jayce: :(:(:(
Mel: see you later ;*
"Hey, Talis!" Vi's voice made him look up.
"Huh?"
"Didn't you say you wanted to pick up your boyfriend?"
"Right", Jayce said, mentally face-palming himself for making Viktor wait. "Gotta go."
When he was about to step out into the corridor, he stopped abruptly, looking back at Vi with a frown on his face.
"Don't call him that when he arrives here", he warned, annoyed by the big fat grin on Vi's face. "Also, thanks for keeping my secret." He looked at Jinx.
"I'm innocent." Vi held up her hands. "I told no one, I swear."
"Ekko told me about two weeks ago", Jinx said with a shrug.
"What?" The frown deepend on Jayce's face. "How did he even know?"
"He didn't say." Jinx tippined her head, eyes wandering towards the ceiling, seemingly in thought. "But I guess the big, fat puppy eyes you make at the guy helped him figure it out."
She looked at him with a gleeful grin.
Jayce rolled his eyes, pinching the space between his brows with two fingers.
"Who doesn't know at this point?", he muttered, more to himself than anyone else.
"Pretty sure Viktor is the only one who hasn't noticed yet", Vi answered anyways. "For two guys smart enough to get a scholarship, you're both ridiculously dense."
"Says the girl who came to me crying about my sister all the time", Jayce retorted.
Vi flipped him off. "You could've just told me she liked me back."
"Nope", Jayce said gleefully. "Promised Cait I wouldn't. Also, your struggle was fun to watch."
Vi shot him a sarcastic smile. "Ditto."
"You two, stop bitchin' around", Jinx intervened, glaring. "We have to clean up and make the punch before Miss Perfect arrives. And you", she looked at Jayce. "You should get going, or your sweetheart will hit you with his cane again."
"Don't call him that either", Jayce muttered.
Jinx rolled her eyes.

Small snippet of a Oneshot I'm writing. It's basically Jayvik, but the frame narrative is that Jayce and Vi throw Caitlyn a surprise bd party and flop HARD.
misunderstandings (but in the entertaining, good way), jealousy, chaos, happy end ofc

“I do think their travel schedule will be restricted and planned around the kids', but hopefully they'll start small and slow - a couple days here and there throughout Europe, then going further and for longer as the kids don't need them to be as hands-on and present.”
Maybe not this section in particular, maybe just the whole vibe of the conversation in regard to the Wales’ work load and how they are seemingly very ‘family first’ made me wonder. What if William’s experience with his own parents, coupled with Catherine’s and his witnessing her family, has shaped his thoughts and feelings, and perhaps he’s gone a bit too far, and is struggling to find balance?
As a parent now, myself coming from a strict set of parents that I couldn’t speak with about my thoughts & feelings, I struggle with balance with my children. I don’t want to be their friends exactly, yet I do want to be a safe place for their thoughts & feelings, should they wish to share them. It’s a fine line with loads of grey at times. And so, I give William a lot of grace here because as parents, it’s sometimes very difficult to know what’s best for the pieces of our hearts wandering around this world.
As well, after reading others speculate on the King tending to be a bit of a jealous type, how much could that play into the work load for William & Catherine?
I'm not sure that it's Charles affecting the Waleses' workload. (I know Mayo just did a reading on it and her cards show there's some kind of dependencies there.)
For me, it really does feel like the Waleses trying to figure it out themselves. Their 'family first' strategy worked really well when the kids were small and William was #3, but they seem to be struggling with how to scale and adapt it as the kids have grown up and William gets closer to the throne. It does feel a bit like as the circumstances of William and Kate's lives/work/roles change and become a little more uncontrollable (e.g., cancer, foreign diplomacy, a lot of travel, changing EU dynamics, etc.), they're holding tighter to what they can control - which is their 'family first' mindset. I don't begrudge them that at all, especially if that's the anchor steadying the children's normalcy in all the changes that have happened the last 5 years. It just doesn't jive with some of the PR that KP puts out about William - for instance, the 'statesman' PR they do whenever he travels abroad. You're not a statesman if all you do is travel twice a year for two or three days at a time. You need to be in meetings, going places, talking to people, being in the room, representing the king at other countries' diplomatic/state events. William isn't there yet for me so I do wish KP would give this "statesman" PR a huge rest until he does more in that regard.
But in a much more larger sense, what William and Kate are dealing with feels more like a "how do you modernize monarchy for the 21st century" kind of strategic question, but I think this is where William and Kate could really lean on their peers - how have Victoria and Daniel made this work? Felipe and Letitia? Frederick and Mary? Willem-Alexander and Maxima? - and kind of crowd-source their way to a solution, with the added knowledge of Kate's early years work. And for all we know, maybe they have asked those questions.

Do you think Ted was a good coach?
Oof. Controversy!
This is a loaded question, because if you look at his end results, you can't deny that he's a "good coach" in the sense that he was able to completely turn the team around and take them to the top of the league. He was definitely doing something right!!
However I feel like I can't really call him a "good coach" with my whole chest because he doesn't know ANYTHING about the sport he's coaching, nor does he really seem to make any effort to learn (like, he doesn't understand the offside rule until 3 years after starting the job. Why?) He's certainly good as part of a coaching team, because he's excellent at building relationships and connecting with his players, but he would be nowhere without Beard, Nate, and Roy, because at the end of the day a team just can't be successful if their coaches don't know anything about the strategy/technique of the game.
Also, Ted's expertise is in coaching kids, not adult professionals, and that really shows in how he handles Richmond sometimes. His whole "winning isn't what's important, it's all about teamwork and having fun and being the best version of yourself :)" is a fantastic mindset for, say, the coach of a little league team, but (as Beard points out) not as wonderful for coaching professionals whose whole job is winning. They're not there to have fun and learn the value of teamwork, they're there to win. I get that the return to football as a fun childhood hobby is a theme on the show, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I feel like Ted doesn't always fully understand the gravity of the sport for people who are truly invested, and he doesn't always do a great job of balancing "having fun and growing as individuals" with like. Doing what these men are paid millions of dollars to do.
As a preschool teacher, I think the way Ted handles conflict is also very reminiscent of how adults handle conflict between young children, which is another thing that would make him a fantastic coach for a kids' team but works against him in a professional setting. In s2, for example, rather than just going to Roy as a superior speaking to an employee and telling him to get over himself and coach Jamie because he's a grownup and that's his job, he tries to get Roy and Jamie to talk it out and come to a resolution like they're two kindergarteners fighting over a toy. He was doing Social Emotional Learning on them, and even though it ultimately benefitted them as individuals, it was not the best or quickest way to deal with a workplace conflict like that between two adults. Can you imagine going to your boss like "hey, the person who's supposed to be training me won't talk to me at all or answer any of my questions and I'm kind of lost" and they were like "lol and what do you expect me to do about that? That's on you, I'm not gonna tell him what to do" insanity
TL;DR I think Ted is fantastic with people and that's a huge asset to him in coaching, but I don't think he knows anywhere near enough about soccer to be a bona fide "good coach" of a professional team. I also think the way he handles his players and their conflicts would be an asset to him if he were a kids' coach or a teacher, but sometimes is frustrating and infantilizing when applied to professionals

Digimon World 3 - First Impressions
Yaaay, so excited to be continuing this series! Well...can we even call it a series? I guess it's kind of like Final Fantasy where the games don't connect (sometimes). The numbers give me a sense of accomplishment anyways. Digimon World was bonkers and memorable for its weird mechanics, Digimon World 2 was kind of a flop, but enjoyable enough, not sure what the world's opinion on 3 is. Either way I'm ready for the long haul -cracks knuckles-
Notes:
This is the first Digimon game I've played that feels like a riff on Pokemon. There's badges I'm supposed to earn, towns to explore with all the usual RPG buildings (inn, item store, etc.), people who challenge me to battles as I walk by them, and the only digimon that earns EXP in battles is the one at the front of my party. I see this as a win because I enjoy the Pokemon gameplay loop.
Already got two CG animated cutscenes (FMVs?) I think the animation looks good! It holds up more than some of the other games I've played anyways. The bear digimon especially looked really cute in the opening. The other cutscene that played when I entered the digital world was great for immersion.
Load screens are kind of annoying, but oh well. I guess I can fast forward if they get bad. The text scrolls very slowly as well, which maybe I can adjust.
So the main character "Junior" and his friends go into the Digital World or "Digimon Online." In this game's canon (so far anyways) the Digital World is a game. I found it kind of strange that they all logged in together and then immediately were like "kay let's split up, bye." If they were going to split up then why were Teddy and Ivy like "wait for us Junior!! You're going too fast!"
I suppose this game world is supposed to be an MMORPG because a lot of the human-looking characters I spoke to referenced playing the game and their real lives as well. Gotta love a game within a game. The map/world doesn't really have an MMORPG vibe to me, but oh well.
Since I accidentally chose the "hard mode" pack in the last digimon game, I decided to give myself a break this time and go with the "balanced" pack. The Maniac pack has the best digimon imo, but I ain't taking any chances.
I was just reading about the game and I guess it has around 20 game-original digimon? Excited to meet them all. I'm sure some of this game will also be a preview for the next anime season.
The sleepy digimon in the inn were really cute
Tumblr media
Love the sprites and how your digimon walk behind you. Too cute. It looks like they put a lot of effort into the background as well.
I've heard some stock sounds and music from past games already which is fun
I felt a little bit of dread when they mentioned the card game. I really like the digimon card game, but having to battle and play cards in one game kinda sounds like a pain. This is gonna be a long one...
When I played Pokemon when I was younger I would just level one Pokemon up and not give EXP to anyone else lol. I know that's not good strategy-wise, but because that one Pokemon would hog the EXP they'd be overleveled and it made the games easy. For the sake of "playing the game correctly" I'll try to do it right this time and move the digimon around.

THE ART OF WARMTH:
Mastering the Art of Resting
Tumblr media
Recently, one of our professors introduced us to the novel The Art of War, written by Sun Tzu. It is a book about war and strategies, and I was extremely piqued by its emphasis on preparation, timing, and strategies (which are the spies) to win a war.
War tactics are great lessons to acquire for until today we're still on the battlefield, and we're battling the war within ourselves. But what if the preparation, timing, and strategies were not truly the way to succeed a war?
What if it's the art of resting?
Here's a small fact: You're tired.
When was the last time you slept for a full 8 hours? And when was the last time you didn't multitask?
Let's be frank, the majority of us have been dealing with our life battles lately. Tons of work, school loads, and even prior commitments, when you're sometimes unfortunate, might demand you to finish them all at once. We all have been in this kind of situation, aren't we? But you cannot quit because you've already come this far.
May it be visible or not, battles in our everyday lives appear as an endless cycle; It's continuous. It's draining. Some of us might already overcome and finish racing with our struggles, but there are also some who are still looking for ways to run it out. And that is exactly the reason why I'm here: to offer you insightful thoughts to keep the spirit of yours burning!
WHY DO WE NEED TO REST?
1. Lack of rest impairs our reasoning and productivity.
“Huh? I don't get it?” and “I have read it multiple times yet I can't still understand it” are the words and moments we often encounter especially when we don't get to have ample sleep.
Our productivity may also decrease during these instances as we cannot think straight. One of the best examples of this is forgetting where you have placed something. Normal as it may seem to us, but experts have noted that the inability to comprehend simple information is linked to a lack of rest.
Sleep expert and neuroscientist at News in Health Dr. Merrill Mitler stated “Loss of sleep impairs your higher levels of reasoning, problem-solving and attention to detail,” emphasizing how rest deprivation influences the way we process information. Apart from that, News in Health (NIH) also mentioned that lack of rest may also influence our mood and the way we interact with people.
2. Being deprived of rest adversely affects our health.
Just as how Superman loses his strength when exposed to kryptonite, we will also lose our health if we don't take a rest.
News in Health (NIH) claims that lack of rest may increase our chance of developing obesity. It was also mentioned that heart disease and infections are the other health-related complications that one could develop as a result of lack of rest.
“Throughout the night, your heart rate, breathing rate, and blood pressure rise and fall, a process that may be important for cardiovascular health. Your body releases hormones during sleep that help repair cells and control the body’s use of energy. These hormone changes can affect your body weight,” said News in Health, accentuating the importance of rest.
3. Resting benefits us.
While resting might be viewed as a tiny part of our lives, this simple activity greatly helps in balancing our health, physically and mentally.
A health blog known as INTEGRIS Health provided several benefits of resting including the following:
reduced stress and anxiety
improved mood
decreased blood pressure
chronic pain relief
improved immune health
stronger cardiovascular system
Important reminder: Rest is not equivalent to being lazy, but sure it is a necessity.
OTHER SUGGESTED THINGS TO KEEP YOU PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY BALANCED:
Read a book
Exercise
Have a nature trip
Journaling
Movie marathon
As has been noted, pausing for a while is beneficial to one's body. It can actually boost your mind and it's a unique way to care for yourself! Whether your day appears fulfilling or disappointing, do not deprive yourself of rest. So, go ahead and do something that makes you feel relaxed today.
youtube
It's okay to pause once in a while because after all we're not superhumans—we can't do everything and anything at once.

Integrating Third-Party Tools into Your CRM System: Best Practices
A modern CRM is rarely a standalone tool — it works best when integrated with your business's key platforms like email services, accounting software, marketing tools, and more. But improper integration can lead to data errors, system lags, and security risks.
Tumblr media
Here are the best practices developers should follow when integrating third-party tools into CRM systems:
1. Define Clear Integration Objectives
Identify business goals for each integration (e.g., marketing automation, lead capture, billing sync)
Choose tools that align with your CRM’s data model and workflows
Avoid unnecessary integrations that create maintenance overhead
2. Use APIs Wherever Possible
Rely on RESTful or GraphQL APIs for secure, scalable communication
Avoid direct database-level integrations that break during updates
Choose platforms with well-documented and stable APIs
Custom CRM solutions can be built with flexible API gateways
3. Data Mapping and Standardization
Map data fields between systems to prevent mismatches
Use a unified format for customer records, tags, timestamps, and IDs
Normalize values like currencies, time zones, and languages
Maintain a consistent data schema across all tools
4. Authentication and Security
Use OAuth2.0 or token-based authentication for third-party access
Set role-based permissions for which apps access which CRM modules
Monitor access logs for unauthorized activity
Encrypt data during transfer and storage
5. Error Handling and Logging
Create retry logic for API failures and rate limits
Set up alert systems for integration breakdowns
Maintain detailed logs for debugging sync issues
Keep version control of integration scripts and middleware
6. Real-Time vs Batch Syncing
Use real-time sync for critical customer events (e.g., purchases, support tickets)
Use batch syncing for bulk data like marketing lists or invoices
Balance sync frequency to optimize server load
Choose integration frequency based on business impact
7. Scalability and Maintenance
Build integrations as microservices or middleware, not monolithic code
Use message queues (like Kafka or RabbitMQ) for heavy data flow
Design integrations that can evolve with CRM upgrades
Partner with CRM developers for long-term integration strategy
CRM integration experts can future-proof your ecosystem

Warframe Modding - The Warframes themselves
Modding a Warframe is a decidedly more complex affair than the weapons, as this is actually where there's some kind of build variety based on player choice rather than 'ideal build' to extra the most value out of a weapon.
Generally, its a case of balancing your suvival stats, your ability stats, and then adjusting as necessary from there.
The great joy of Warframe is of course that you can build whatever you want and you don't owe anyone shit.
If you want you really can make a build that is entirely parkour mods so you can run super fast, if that's what you need the build to do. You'll die a fair bit if you take that parkour build into Steel Path, but it might end up being the best build for low level mission clearing for loot and such you're planning to sell.
You can stack nothing but health, armour, shields, and regen if you know you're not gonna be using abilities and just your weapons. (the age old Inaros strategy.)
Or maybe you drop every survival mod and go full tilt on damage, DPS, and killing enemies. I know one salty little shitfuck who does exactly that. (You know who you are)
And ultimately, only you can pick. However, if there's certain content you want to do - like Steel Path - then there's certain build tricks you need to know.
So let's cover a few key points to keep in mind when building:
Staying Alive - Hah, hah, stayin' alive. Man I'm old now. Anyway, yeah you can't do shit if you're dead. I personally always start with 'how am I going to keep myself alive' (there's another reference for the Queen fans) because everything else is secondary to that. Am I stacking Health and Armour, am I loading up on shields and damage resistance, am I just going to run so fast they can't shoot me, stuff like that. So generally, unless I am very confident I can kill before I die, I will stack two kinds of 'survival'. So maybe a little additive armour and some crowd control. Maybe a big chunk of shields and Quick Thinking juuuuust in case.
Note, try to avoid relying on Quick Thinking. It allows you to use your Energy pool, as 'emergency health' but when it does this, you are more vulnerable to staggers. This is very bad, it is not something you should rely on outside of a few cases since its very, very easy to get stunlocked to death. It has its uses, but they are few and far between.
Thresholds - When building a Warframe, certain abilities have caps. Like armour stripping, you don't need to strip more 100% armour, so there's a certain threshold of power strength you're building for. Keeping these thresholds in mind can save you space, or you might go over them anyway because the stat will have other uses. E.g. I might build Ash for only 143% power strength so Seeking Shuriken will strip all armour, if that's the only thing I'm using. Whereas, if I'm building to focus more on Bladestorm, I might stack as much power strength as I can.
Energy - Warframe becomes a very boring game without Abilities to cast, so getting a source of energy is important. To the extent that I might even recommend that once you get some tradable plat, buying the mod Energy Nexus is a really good investment. Energy Nexus gives you a decent 3 points of Energy a Second, but you only unlock the place to farm it after a bunch of Main Story quests. So by buying it (or getting a friend to gift you one) you get a lot of energy earlier into the game than you reasonably should but oh man. I'll probably do a whole post on Energy sources.
"General" vs "Specialised" builds - I generally have one build I use for day to day running, and then sometimes build specific things for funsies or maybe for a specific mission. A 'pick up and play' build if you will. Knowing the difference between them and when to use them, how to build them, can make things a lot more focused. Some builds are built entirely around a single ability - I've got an Atlas build that has ability Efficiency stacked up alongside Energy Regen (see above) so I can infinitely spam his 1st Ability, Rockslide - its a punch, but with a rock. Over. And over. And over again. Its stupid, by design.

Whenever I see posts mentioning Darmok, I always think of one of the best teachers I ever had.
Ms Goodloe taught world literature in tenth grade. She knew the curriculum, and more importantly, she knew the WHY of the curriculum. It was SUPPOSED to overlap with all of our other classes to the point where it wasn't entirely clear where english stopped and history or art began.
When we did the Epic of Gilgamesh, for example, we not only read the text and learned the history of mesopotamia and Ur and so on. We also built artifacts from the text -- statue heads, chariot wheels, robes, and in one case, a 3-meter battle axe. (I still don't know how Sam made that one -- dude bicycled to school every day. How do you get a 3 meter battle axe to school on a bike? I get why nobody stopped him, he was a crazy guy with a giant axe, but how did he DO it?!)
She also told us, with a more-than-slightly insane grin, that she had something EXTRA special one day. She got an ancient projector working, loaded up a VHS tape (we still had a few in 2010, although not many) and we watched Darmok.
I'm not sure how much of it was that she just liked Star Trek, how much of it was connecting the curriculum to pop culture, how much of it was to keep us off balance and thus keep discipline (it was a VERY effective strategy), and how much of it was to point out that the rising language of communication-via-memes wasn't something our generation invented. But it was a very memorable class.
She retired after us, because the school system was becoming increasingly hostile to teachers. I should have taken that as a cue, in retrospect -- I worked for the same school system, albeit mostly at a different school, ten years later and it just about killed me.
I wish I had her address or something. I'd like to send her a letter some time and tell her just how much I think about her class even now.

SCP 3456.2 D also known as War is a Thaumiel Class entity who’s the most physically strongest amongst his siblings. Honorable, brutish, and large, he tends to solve things directly and violently though is more reasonable than SCP 3456.2 C. Tends to spend his time training by himself or even MTFs and has fought other SCPs such as SCP 076, 096, and even the infamous 682. Further examination of his weapon Chaoseater had the Foundation recreate another weapon with similar materials.

[ AUTHENTICATION REQUESTED ]
∎ LOADING FILE . . .
[ ACCESS GRANTED :) ]
Profiled tag: SCP-3456-2-D "War"
Class: Thaumiel (risk of Apollyon level)
SCP description:
Standing at around 8'1 in height and ranked heavy in the weight spectrum, War is a classification of a juggernaut. Bulky and cantankerous, he has demonstrated his ability that proves his physical strength is unmatched and can only be bested by a superior combat thinking mind.
As his sibling. SCP-3456-B "Strife" has mentioned, it took all three of them combined to subdue him when he was in a state of bloodlust and rage.
Adorned in a variety of armour sculpts of harrowing, haunting and grotesque visages of tormented faces, the only part of him that remains uncovered is his face, revealing a light but more natural skin tone but not without the draped scarlet cowl that crowns a hood over his head, obscuring mainly the upper portion of his face in shadow. A searing crescent appears to be tattooed on his forehead, the spiked ends pointed downward and crossing over the bright, blue-white coloured eyes. Beneath his cowl is long, white hair.
War has a very direct approach when it comes to overcoming challenges ahead of himself, often through brute force as his primary charge but despite this, he has proven himself to have a deep-rooted code of honour that keeps his otherwise brutish nature in check. Understanding and able to reason, this is a stark contrast to his fellow SCP-3456-C. He also has a great and key mind for tactics and war-path strategy, earning him access to being the directive head of planning MTFs missions and assignments.
When not restricted to the confines of his containment cell and freely roams the site, he can be found either training by himself or training numerous MTF squads.
For his viscous calling to battle, War is eager to engage a threat head on if it means to protect and preserve, Whether this ideology stems from his code of upholding the balance or to keep his siblings safe. So far, War has come into contact with SCP-076 and 096 and also 682 a handful of times, seemingly determined to eliminate this threat that defies the course of natural order.
As for his weapon, Chaoseater, (SCP-2-D-HC) the weapon is infused to him and somehow pertains a slivered amount of his very lifeforce; perhaps granting him a near immortal state should his physical body die then the blade can somehow act as a form of resurrections point. The blade is as tall as he is alone and not counting the hilt. A wide frame makes up the blade and like his armour, it has a magnitude of sculpted moaning faces.
Though not as semi-sentiant as the Harvester or as magically possessed, the Chaoseater does carry a dark and powerful aura about it. It is bound to War in a way that only enables him to be its wielder and though there have been attempts to replicate the blade during its forging process, there has been no success. Each time there has been a replica of Chaoseater, it quivers and the metal cracks and splinters when in the presence of its parent variant - almost as if it refuses to be copied.
The blade also has a tether to War's ferocity in battle and is able to increase War's tenacity amidst his conflicts. The blade does not require a sheath and by some magical possession, the blade has the ability to stick to War's back with ease, unable to be dislodged unless compelled by its wielder.
For War's second counterpart, he too rides on an equine of his own unique design. Much like each of the Horsemen, War's steed reflects his rider's personality and aspects. The largest of the Horsemen's mounts, Ruin (SCP-2-D-ER) has the appearance of a draft or war horse. A fiery and temperamental creature only able to calm by the hand of his rider.
With a dark ebony coat as hard as rock and smoldering hot as magma, a line of carven runes line the side of his neck, the language or meaning behind such markings is unknown. Unlike Despair, Ruin's coat may be lacking of evident hair, there is a smoothness to his body and his mane and tail are made of coarse, long hair. From within he is like a volcanic surge, a fiery amber glowing from the eyes, nostrils and markings or scarring on his body with his cracked hooves also being engulfed by flame.

Design a User-Friendly Website:
Essential Principles You Need to Know
A user-friendly website is crucial for engaging visitors and retaining their interest. Prioritizing user experience (UX) in your website design not only improves navigation but also boosts conversion rates and enhances your brand’s credibility. This post will explore foundational principles for creating a user-centered design, including responsive website features and effective website layout strategies. Implementing these best practices will ensure that your website attracts visitors, encourages exploration, and drives action.
Creating a Seamless Online Experience: Key Principles for Designing UX design plays a pivotal role in effective web development. Whether you are building a new site or revamping an old one, a user-friendly interface is essential for retaining visitors, enhancing engagement, and increasing conversions. Below, we outline critical principles for creating a website that is intuitive, clean, and easy to navigate.
The Cornerstones of a User-Friendly Website
Prioritize Simplicity and Clarity Your website’s primary goal is to convey information quickly and effectively. A cluttered website layout can overwhelm visitors and detract from their experience. Focus on a minimalist approach with clear navigation menus and easily recognizable call-to-action (CTA) buttons.
Optimize for Mobile Responsiveness In an era where mobile browsing is prevalent, a responsive website design is essential. Ensure that your site functions seamlessly across all devices, with fast load times and a mobile-friendly layout. This optimization enhances both user experience and site speed.
Focus on Intuitive Navigation Visitors should be able to find what they’re looking for without confusion. Group similar content together, use logical categories, and incorporate a search bar. Avoid hidden menus or hard-to-find links that disrupt the user’s flow.
Maintain Consistent Design Elements Consistency in font styles, colors, and layout fosters familiarity and trust. Choose a color scheme that reflects your brand identity and apply it across all pages. Consistent design elements aid in easier site navigation and improve overall user experience.
Enhance Site Speed and Performance A fast-loading website is crucial for user satisfaction and search engine ranking. Optimize images, enable browser caching, and minimize JavaScript to improve site speed. A slow website frustrates visitors and leads to higher bounce rates.
Employ Visual Hierarchy Users scan web pages in a predictable manner. Use larger fonts for headings, bold colors for CTAs, and ample white space to highlight important elements. A well-structured website layout guides users to your content naturally.
Advanced Tips for Improving User Interaction
Include Engaging Visuals and Multimedia Balance text with images, infographics, or videos to create a visually appealing experience. High-quality visuals attract attention and can help clarify complex information. However, avoid overloading your pages with media that might slow down site speed.
Use Accessibility Best Practices A truly user-friendly website is inclusive of all users, including those with disabilities. Utilize alt text for images, ensure your site is navigable via keyboard, and choose contrasting color schemes to improve readability. Accessibility is key to a comprehensive UX design.
Implement Clear Call-to-Actions (CTAs) Guide users towards the actions you want them to take by using effective CTAs. Whether it’s making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or scheduling a consultation, place these prompts where they are visible and ensure they stand out.

(Article) Going back to Cyberpunks Night City never felt so great.
Tumblr media
Alright. I had my reservations about Cyberpunk 2077s Update 2.0. But after completing Act 1 in one sitting last night, I can honestly say that this is the best time to hop back in and play through it all again. If you haven't played it, then NOW is the time.
It's been 2 years, 10 months, and 12 days since this game first cursed our screens with a disappointing buggy mess of a game. From top to bottom, exploits and balance issues were terrible. From item duplication to infinite money glitches, from terrain pop in and out to litteral skyscrapers disappearing. You name it, Cyberpunk had it.
However, even with all the issues it had, the foundation was there. But the house needed a remodel, an interior decorator, and time for them to fix it. As in every remodel, it will never have a straight line to completion. You start with the big stuff first as they make the game playable, then move on to the smaller things like the combat, skill trees and everything else.
When this game was at its best and running smoothly, it was stunning, graphically insane. The writing and the voice acting were equally as impeccable. It all came down to how it ran. At launch, I couldn't recommend this game to anyone. Now, with this update, I can recommend this game to everyone.
With fresh eyes on it and expectations lowered by a lot right from the jump, the game somehow looks better than I remember, which I didn't think would be entirely possible. The dialog, as outlandish as it is, was delivered excellently. The details in their face match perfectly to their tone when they are happy or sad, they are hiding contempt or malice it all matches.
The combat has also been a spot of large improvement. Whether you're going in guns blazing, stealth around and pick your enemies one by one, or just be a futuristic tech ninja using hacking and a katana to slice through your foes it all works and is a viable strategy. Sure, some enemies can feel like bullet sponges, but the improved feedback, recoil, sound, and muzzle flash all make it feel like you're really the one pulling the trigger.
The police in Night City also increased their budget size. They have been equipped with tactical training and AI to better combat the "Thugs" of Night City. They will also be setting roadblocks, shooting out their windows, and chasing you down all over the city. Even the slightest infraction will set them off, so be careful with the boot licking pigs. However, if you are looking into some car chases and vehicular combat sounds fun, make sure you check out the all new vehicle mounted weapons you can equip to cause maximum mayhem.
Now, let's get to just a couple of things that I still don't like. Vehicles still seem floaty. You'll be going 90 mph, but it still only feels like 20. I also experienced severe frame drops here and there. Usually, it only occurred during maximum load or set circumstances, like when walking up to the mirror to look at yourself or getting into an elevator or two.
My stance hasn't changed. I still think the new Phantom Liberty expansion should be free. But having the game play this good is something that every company whose game released... less than ideally should strive for. I'm proud to say that this game is worth every penny.
Has this article changed your mind? Do you plan on hopping in again? Or the first time? Want to talk anything gaming? Let me know! I stream every weekday, 8pm-12am. The link is below. I'd love to see you there!

Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2, Episode 20: Ouroboros, Part 2
I'm so glad no one got erased on Solum. Or did they?
With this episode, we close the door on Prodigy season 2. What a ride it's been. I loved this season and all the successful swings it took, and I am still overwhelmingly impressed by how much they crammed into 20 episodes while still making it entirely coherent. Hats off to the whole team for that. 10/10 for the episode, 9/10 for the season
This review has to be in three parts because of the absolute bombshell that happens halfway through the episode and because we need to talk about the season as a whole.
For the first half of the episode, I loved the escape sequence. It felt a bit like they'd handled too much of the plot in the last episode and didn't have much to fill out the finale, which does make sense with the twist halfway through. I feel like if I were going to make this part a little more exciting, I would have had the Loom creatures get onto the ship and cause some chaos, or maybe have Dal and Ma'jel flying outside with cover fire, but what we got was excellent. And it caps off with the montage of the whole show so far, which was pretty emotional.
And with that, the episode and season 2 end, except HAHA SUCKERS YOU THOUGHT WE FORGOT ABOUT CONTINUITY.
I'm still in shock that they actually followed through and did the Mars attack in this episode. I didn't think they'd show it, and I actually had to pause the episode when it happened. Aaron, if you're reading this, first of all thank you so much for this amazing show and for engaging with the community, and second of all, I'm fascinated by why you did this. What was the reasoning? Because there's so much loaded into having it happen and disrupt everything that it feels like it can't just be setup for getting the new ship together, it feels deliberate to have a paradigm-shattering event break everything you know and love right at the last minute. It's handled well but holy shit it's a massive gut punch.
Janeway's mini-retirement only works in the context of keeping the twist, and it does make sense that way, and I'm glad she got a scene to object to Starfleet's reprioritization. I think it would have been better if she'd explicitly argued against abandoning the Romulans - I don't think anyone brings it up at that meeting - but at least she's still putting up a fight. Her strategy of getting the main cast onto a new ship and back to exploring is fine, but I do hope that if/when we get a season 3 they go to Romulus and get involved there.
Aesthetically, I love the new uniforms. The flashback uniform from Picard is one of my favorite designs, and all the senior officers were wearing it at the end. The Prodigy crew gets a variant of it that I'm not as fond of, but it's more in that style and I appreciate it. I also love that Murf is in one now too. They let him get away with dress code violations for way too long.
We also get the conclusion of Dal's arc, which is excellent. One of the problems with setting someone up to be First Officer is that eventually, they're going to take command. And having Dal accept the FO position because he wants to grow before taking command is a great way to balance the humility and patience arcs that he's been developing.
For the season as a whole, we've been gifted some of the best Star Trek has to offer. It's a serialized narrative that still has time for fun individual beats, while also focusing heavily on building out a cast of very real characters and giving them space to grow. It gets weird in the ways Trek is supposed to, but it never forgets about the people the show is supposed to be about, and I love that. Great job, Prodigy. Go Fast. Hopefully we meet again for season 3.
Also, next time around please put Dal in a room with Tom Paris.

Best Practices for Data Lifecycle Management to Enhance Security
Securing all communication and data transfer channels in your business requires thorough planning, skilled cybersecurity professionals, and long-term risk mitigation strategies. Implementing global data safety standards is crucial for protecting clients’ sensitive information. This post outlines the best practices for data lifecycle management to enhance security and ensure smooth operations.
Understanding Data Lifecycle Management
Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) involves the complete process from data source identification to deletion, including streaming, storage, cleansing, sorting, transforming, loading, analytics, visualization, and security. Regular backups, cloud platforms, and process automation are vital to prevent data loss and database inconsistencies.
While some small and medium-sized businesses may host their data on-site, this approach can expose their business intelligence (BI) assets to physical damages, fire hazards, or theft. Therefore, companies looking for scalability and virtualized computing often turn to data governance consulting services to avoid these risks.
Defining Data Governance
Data governance within DLM involves technologies related to employee identification, user rights management, cybersecurity measures, and robust accountability standards. Effective data governance can combat corporate espionage attempts and streamline database modifications and intel sharing.
Examples of data governance include encryption and biometric authorization interfaces. End-to-end encryption makes unauthorized eavesdropping more difficult, while biometric scans such as retina or thumb impressions enhance security. Firewalls also play a critical role in distinguishing legitimate traffic from malicious visitors.
Best Practices in Data Lifecycle Management Security
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Cybercriminals frequently target user entry points, database updates, and data transmission channels. Relying solely on passwords leaves your organization vulnerable. Multiple authorization mechanisms, such as 2FA, significantly reduce these risks. 2FA often requires a one-time password (OTP) for any significant changes, adding an extra layer of security. Various 2FA options can confuse unauthorized individuals, enhancing your organization’s resilience against security threats.
Version Control, Changelog, and File History Version control and changelogs are crucial practices adopted by experienced data lifecycle managers. Changelogs list all significant edits and removals in project documentation, while version control groups these changes, marking milestones in a continuous improvement strategy. These tools help detect conflicts and resolve issues quickly, ensuring data integrity. File history, a faster alternative to full-disk cloning, duplicates files and metadata in separate regions to mitigate localized data corruption risks.
Encryption, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Antimalware VPNs protect employees, IT resources, and business communications from online trackers. They enable secure access to core databases and applications, maintaining privacy even on public WiFi networks. Encrypting communication channels and following safety guidelines such as periodic malware scans are essential for cybersecurity. Encouraging stakeholders to use these measures ensures robust protection.
Security Challenges in Data Lifecycle Management
Employee Education Educating employees about the latest cybersecurity implementations is essential for effective DLM. Regular training programs ensure that new hires and experienced executives understand and adopt best practices.
Voluntary Compliance Balancing convenience and security is a common challenge. While employees may complete security training, consistent daily adoption of guidelines is uncertain. Poorly implemented governance systems can frustrate employees, leading to resistance.
Productivity Loss Comprehensive antimalware scans, software upgrades, hardware repairs, and backups can impact productivity. Although cybersecurity is essential, it requires significant computing and human resources. Delays in critical operations may occur if security measures encounter problems.
Talent and Technology Costs Recruiting and developing an in-house cybersecurity team is challenging and expensive. Cutting-edge data protection technologies also come at a high cost. Businesses must optimize costs, possibly through outsourcing DLM tasks or reducing the scope of business intelligence. Efficient compression algorithms and hybrid cloud solutions can help manage storage costs.
Conclusion
The Ponemon Institute found that 67% of organizations are concerned about insider threats. Similar concerns are prevalent worldwide. IBM estimates that the average cost of data breaches will reach 4.2 million USD in 2023. The risks of data loss, unauthorized access, and insecure PII processing are rising. Stakeholders demand compliance with data protection norms and will penalize failures in governance.
Implementing best practices in data lifecycle management, such as end-to-end encryption, version control systems, 2FA, VPNs, antimalware tools, and employee education, can significantly enhance security. Data protection officers and DLM managers can learn from expert guidance, cybersecurity journals, and industry peers’ insights to navigate complex challenges. Adhering to privacy and governance directives offers legal, financial, social, and strategic advantages, boosting long-term resilience against the evolving threats of the information age. Utilizing data governance consulting services can further ensure your company is protected against these threats.
