Now that I know more about writing, I'm upset at all the writing advice that urged new writers to find the one best way to write stories, when they should be telling us to play with writing techniques like toys.
Don't tell us to avoid certain points of view! Don't box us into the one currently popular prose style! Let us play and see what effects different techniques achieve, so we can learn the best ways to make use of them! Give us a whole ton of possibility instead of one cookie-cutter template!

poyt 5 is such a fucking rollercoaster, y’all! like i feel like people may not like it bc it’s so all over the place and it reads more like a book than a chapter 😭😭 in the sense that there isn’t just a beginning - middle - climax - end. It’s more like, a bazillion ups and downs, about three climaxes, three very emotional and poignant scenes (although I guess the main heart-wrenching scene is the big one in the middle, and then there’s a lot of mini heart-wrenches) and then there’s also a bit of comedic stuff which we haven’t seen in the other poyt parts, and some heavy romance stuff and revelation stuff, of course the main biggest climax, and then the ending and then the epilogue…
I guess I’m saying all this bc I feel like people will get bored halfway through bc it’s so super long 😭😭😭😭 I’m so so so anxious about people losing interest bc poyt 5 is very different structure wise 😭😭 I just threw EVERYTHING in without caution and now I’m editing and it’s like… some scenes are way too long but then I don’t want to cut anything, I feel like everything is so important to the story!!! And I keep thinking back to poyt 4 to reassure myself, bc it was 22k words long but I remember some of you saying that it didn’t FEEL like 22k words bc it went by quickly! I JUST HOPE y’all feel the same way about poyt 5😭

I’ve been reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and trust me, it has broken my heart. This is the first time when a book has made me cry myself to sleep.
🎧: Bo Giyam by Kashif Din, Nimra Rafiq
Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think I liked the book a lot and the ending was unexpectedly good. I just wished in the end Laila could become something, like take on a career and also wished to see Mariam’s old self again. Other than this, I loved the whole book. It was described in such fine detail that it blowed my mind. Surely a good read!

instead of a shitpost/meme, I just say this: Hey, would you be kind enough to spread the word about my new epic silk road fantasy book? Would you buy a copy please? :)
Available everywhere books are sold
"Crafted with patience, passion, and most importantly, tremendous love. Read R.R. Virdi!"- Jim Butcher, NYT bestselling author of the Dresden Files
"Rich world-building, plenty of action, and devious twists abound. Very highly recommended!" ―Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of V-Wars and Kagen the Damned
"R.R. Virdi's The First Binding is engrossing and beautiful, joyous and painful―always entertaining, sometimes profound. This book makes me remember why I love epic fantasy."―Kevin J. Anderson, New York Times bestselling coauthor of Dune: House Atreides
"An epic like no other - grand, sweeping, dramatic, a love letter to fantasy burning with the dust and heat and mythos of South Asia. It reads like magic and tastes like saffron." ―Yudhanjaya Wijeratne, Washington Post bestselling author of the Salvage Crew

[Review] I Hope This Doesn't Find You by Ann Liang [240308]
I just finished binging I Hope This Doesn't Find You by Ann Liang in a day. It was absolutely amazing. I loved every second of it.
The way the author captures every emotion Sadie feels is so captivating, so realistic, so... perfect. I found myself tensing up with when she was worried; I found myself staring intently at the screen of my tablet, my brows furrowed; I found myself smiling along with her.
It was so satisfying reading this novel: the misunderstanding trope wasn't dragged out or annoying, every scene played in my mind exactly like a movie would, and the imagery used was nothing short of spectacular, flowing with the scenes and written in the perfect tone.
The character development was absolutely lovely – something very refreshing and satisfying – they were the opposite of cardboard-plank characters, they all had a purpose to serve and they acted as real humans did, they weren't too childish, too mature, too plain or too flashy.
As I kept reading, I found myself falling in love with the characters more and more – the vanity of Julius, the relatable-ness of Sadie, everything about Abigail... One thing I found especially delightful was how, even though Julius and Sadie were enemies, they were quite the same. [Spoiler Starts] They both loathe the thought of someone pitying them, they both try so hard to be so perfect, they both are equally as obsessed with each other, they make each other feel alive – they just live their lives in different ways. [Spoiler Ends]
Being of Chinese descent, I Hope This Doesn't Find You was even more fun due to the 汉语拼音 embedded within the text – I could hear every word spoken out so smoothly, it was truly an enjoyable experience that evoked immense joy within my heart.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel! 10/10! I feel the constant need to gush about it.

One question kept popping through my mind as I read this novel.... Where is my Julius Gong? I'm a top student (sadly, I'm not any kind of athlete or leader, though I do work out). I get good grades. Relatively. So, uh, God, where can I order a Julius Gong? dfjkdshjfksdf (I'm an agnostic, by the way)
