There’s that saying about using the fine china and the heirloom linens, drinking the finest wine and devouring cake — yes, do it. Life is in the moment. This is it. Enjoy those things that tickle your fancy. Allow yourself to indulge.

I will pick up my pen and put it to the handmade paper between the covers of these precious objects, and fill them with my imperfection.

Jamming with Journaling

I took to journaling this week after eons, precisely a year. It felt therapeutic. I have been longing to jot in an odd 10-year-old notebook with blank pages unfurling and staring at me. Journaling from what I garner from friends and well-versed people on social media is something very personal that helps us pour out and vent out, be it swear words, deep angst, or shitty stuff to let out. People talk of hating the blank page,

Of freezing at the emptiness,

And sometimes I wonder why.

Except most people haven't read that book,

And I can't recommend it now

I forgot the name, the author, the cover.

I didn't forget the kid set on getting tattoos,

Or the protagonist giving a blank page in.

She thought she had nothing to write about;

He thought she was keeping all the possibilities.

That a blank page isn't really so,

It's just waiting for its purpose to form.

So now, blank pages don't scare me,

And empty documents can be fun.

It's the full ones that become stressful.
