Guess what turns 27 today?

Michael Jackson’s single; Blood On The Dance Floor was released on March 21st 1997.

This song is from a remix album of the same name - Blood On the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix.

According to a cursory Google search, Michael was not bothered by the fact that the single was not promoted as such in the United States.

His perspective was simply that if his American fans really wanted it, they would find it nonetheless.

Which music videos would you say had Michael looking his best?

I think I might have answered that before, but whatever, it's not like I ever get tired of simping for MJ.

Smooth Criminal will always be my favorite because it has Michael at his coolest AND most gorgeous. That suit looks soooooo good on him (you'll hear me say that a lot), the hat is a nice touch, and his hair is all cute. Plus he flirted with four or five women through the entire dance, just as a casual reminder of "By the way, everybody wants me."

Also it got an extra "Dork Bonus" ever since I found out they had to do a ton of takes of that moment in which he blinks before doing the anti-gravity lean because, Michael Joseph Jackson, the man that can change his voice like crazy, dance for hours and hours, and do the fucking Moonwalk... doesn't know how to blink only one eye instead of both. Amazing. Adorable. Most precious thing I've ever heard.

Blood On The Dance Floor is another in which he looks really good - which is good since that video no budget, so the visuals would be carried by Michael's cool moves and charm. I really like the braid and I wish he had tied up his hair like that more often instead of always going for the ponytail. I loooooove the suit, red really is his color, and for some reason that is one of his clothes that always makes me go "I wonder what that fabric feels like." Plus the video is all about Michael being into a girl that is dancing on the table for him, I cannot be blamed for the dirty thoughts.

Speaking of dirty thoughts I cannot be blamed for... In The Closet. That video is a crime. It's literally Michael trying to murder his entire fanbase. He looks good in it, but the outfit is very simple. It's the way he was "dancing" with Naomi that is meant to kill us all.

On a more wholesome note, one I'd say doesn't get enough love is his look in "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough." His hair looked great, he had that "boy next door" smile through it all, and, my weakness, he was wearing a really nice suit. And he looks SO happy and adorable through it???? And I'm supposed to just go about my day instead of watching it over and over to keep looking at him???? It's not fair????

Another underrated one: Ghosts. I did not know that I apparently have a kink for genuinely friendly supernatural beings that talk all sweet and polite and are real gentlemen that every child immediately gets attached to, but that also can and will scar your for life anyway if they feel threatened, but apparently I do. Also. Michael with long hair. Immediate heart eyes.

Thriller and Beat It are kind of the same category of "Incredibly cool outfit that confirms my bias of prefering Michael in red"

Though "The Way You Make Me Feel" surely makes a good case for "Michael looks best in blue"

And "Remember The Time" did the same for Michael in gold (and his smile totally doesn't make me squeel every single time...)

"Bad" deserves an honorable mention too because oh damn, he looks so cool

"Scream" also deserves all the love (and so does Janet, obviously). Michael smashing that guitar went on my list of "Things I didn't know I wanted to see" and him straight up telling people to fuck off is on the list of "Things he should have done more often to save himself a lot of trouble"

I just love his hair, the clothes, the black and white filter, the vibe, and the way he and Janet mess with each other is adorable!

And Dirty Diana. Just... Dirty Diana. Need I say more?

To end the post, and still on the topic of Michael tempting the fangirls, "Come Together" should also be considered attempted murder

My favourite MJ podcast, The Black Jackson Estate, did an episode on all the leading ladies in MJ’s videos, and so. I really need new markers, and it shows lol. Oops. Ola Ray, Tatiana Thumbtzen, Cindera Che, Iman, Naomi Campbell, Janet Jackson, Sybil Azur and Kishaya Dudley.

Personally, Naomi Campbell is my all time favourite, but it’s so hard to argue against Janet for being a good sister, Tatum for being messy as hell, Iman for being regal af Sybil because I love her dress, and Kishaya for being a real one and dealing with a pretty...difficult work day.

Not included/drawn are Latoya (because...nah bro) and Lisa Marie because I’m not drawing butts on main.
