After all the “the warm family take Mira in because Alma and the cold family are shit” AUs, let’s swap it for once :)

After her gift ceremony, Dolores noticed how her mamá and papá weren’t paying attention to her anymore. They do seem to be too busy with each other.

When she was in their presence, they didn’t notice or care that she was there, and talked quite loud. Sometimes, Pepa would be mad about something, and caused a storm or hurricane without caring that Dolores might be near her.

But what hurt Dolores the most was how she saw her mamá treat Isabela, as if she was the weather woman’s daughter. Pepa would praise her sobrina, braid her hair, and talk about anything that crossed their minds. It made 5 year old Dolores quite sad. She wanted that too…

That’s why she spend more time with Tío Agustín, Tía Julieta and Tío Bruno. They didn’t ignore her, and actually liked her company.

But when Dolores was 6, her mamá and papá announced that they were expecting again.

The girl was quite happy about getting a little brother or sister. But again, she saw how her parents focused solely on the unborn baby, and ignoring her…

Agustín and Julieta started to notice this as well.

“You also have a daughter, you know.” He said to Félix once.

“She can handle herself.” Félix answered. “Pepa and the new baby need me, Gus. You can understand that, right?”

Yeah, that went nowhere.

A week later, Julieta heard Pepa say to Alma that she “hoped the baby would get a better gift”.

Having their answers, Julieta and Agustín decided to look after their sobrina.

Yes, Julieta was pregnant as well, but she didn’t ignore Isabela and Luisa in favor of her unborn kid!

So, the blue couple basically took care of their sobrina from than on. They looked after her, asked her how she’s doing, and spending time with her along with their two other daughters. Isa and Luisa were happy that Dolores spend time with them.

Receiving all this attention from her Tía and Tío, Dolores felt really happy. Finally, she felt like she was loved, and not a burden.

Slowly, and realizing that Pepa and Félix would never pay attention to her, the girl started wearing blue instead of her yellow and red clothing. She felt at home near her Tía Julieta and Tío Agustín. They were her parents now.

Isabela and Luisa were also happy to have Dolores as their sister. Sure she was technically their prima, but still!

Alma didn’t agree with this, and voiced that Dolores should be with her “parents”, but Agustín and Julieta didn’t care. If Pepa and Félix refused to care for their own child, than they would.

As time went on, Camilo and Mirabel were born, and their ceremonies arrived.

While Camilo got a gift his parents were proud of, Mirabel didn’t get one…

Agustín and Dolores immediately predicted that Alma and the yellow family would treat the girl like she was a burden, and they were right.

Isabela was the most vocal about calling her Abuela and Tía out for treating Mira like crap, her reputation as the perfect Madrigal be damned. No one would insult her sisters!

Dolores would offer to share her room with Mira, not wanting her to stay in the nursery for how many years. No way would Dolores let her little sister be treated like she had.

It was a couple of summers ago when you realized you were in love with Bucky Barnes. When you looked back on your friendship, you wondered how it took you so long to realize it. Like how his smile made your heart race whenever he looked your way. Or how you found a solid ground and safe space together, each of you able to confide in the other.

He made you feel safe.

"You're my best friend."

Nothing more.

You stared out the living room window with a sigh, the beach house blanketed by the heavy sound of rain. While it had been bright and sunny just minutes ago, the sky was now dark and misty. You shivered as you wrapped your towel tighter around your wet body, enchanted by the summer storm instead of going to your room to change. It figured you'd buy a new swimsuit for the trip and only get to wear it outside for a minute.

"So much for lounging on the beach."

You smiled softly as you glanced at Bucky beside you, who ran a hand through his long, soaked hair. He hadn't bothered to keep his towel after the two of you rushed back inside, clad in just his blue trunks that matched the shade of his eyes. You scolded yourself for letting your gaze roam along his sun kissed, muscular body.

You didn't have the right to look at him that way.

"Yeah. So much for that," you said, the towel doing little to keep you warm as the air conditioner kicked on. "Maybe our punishment for getting started without everyone?"

Steve, another one of Bucky's best friends, put together a weeklong trip for the gang. So far, you and Bucky were the only two at the beach house. Everyone else wasn't going to be there until the evening. That was why you went for an immediate swim once you picked your room. The storm would likely put the group behind even more and now you were stuck inside with Bucky.

Why had you agreed to show up early?

Why did you have to be alone with him?

Why do I have to love him?

"Maybe," he said with a stretch, drawing attention to his wide chest. "Since it doesn't look like it's slowing down at all, why don't we cuddle on the couch? Catch up a bit?"

"Cuddle?" you scoffed, the sound more bitter than you intended as you turned to face him. "Why would we do that?"

A flicker of hurt passed over his eyes before he blinked it away. "Well, for one, you're cold. I can practically hear your teeth chattering," he replied. He wasn't a fan of being cold either, but he always ran warm. "And two, cuddling never bothered you before."

Your stomach flip-flopped. Bucky was right. He was the only male friend you ever snuggled with. Whenever you had a bad day, he didn't hesitate to throw a heavy arm around you and pull you against his chest. On good days, he found an excuse to keep you plastered by his side. He used to do it so often that most people assumed you were dating.

Wishful thinking.

"I'm sorry," you said, giving him the nicest smile you could manage even though it hurt to do so. "Been awhile since it was just the two of us and even longer than that since we cuddled."

The day it clicked that you saw Bucky as more than a friend was the day he introduced you to Dolores. Everyone called her Dot. The beautiful redhead looked good on his arm and you wondered why it wasn't you in her place. But you put on a brave face and smiled, even as your heart shattered. Because Bucky's happiness meant more than your feelings.

It didn't stop you from crying alone in the darkness where no one else could see.

"That's my fault," he whispered, sliding his fingers into his hair again and tugging harshly on the strands. You noticed he did that when he was upset. "And I'm sorry."

"Friendship goes both ways," you pointed out.

"You never faded out of my life when you dated anyone."

They weren't you, Bucky.

"I guess she was different," you smiled sadly.

The two of you still hung out and messaged each other while he dated Dot, but it was always as a group and the daily messages dwindled to chats here and there. You had the feeling that Dot didn't like you very much. In a way, you didn't fault her for that. Maybe she saw through you and knew you wanted Bucky.

Yet he was the one who broke up with her.

"You're allowed to be mad at me," he said as he took your hand and crossed the room to the couch. "I'd be mad at me."

"Right now, I'm just cold," you said, not wanting to dwell on the past. What good would it do?

He nodded slowly, almost like he was disappointed in your response. "Okay."

You shrieked when he pulled the towel away. It wasn't like he hadn't seen you minutes before in your bikini and you swore his gaze lingered on you long enough to consider it staring, but what was he doing? "What the hell?" you asked, but made no move to cover yourself.

Maybe I want him to see that I'm desirable.

Bucky let out a breath as he looked at you, your shivering having nothing to do with the cold. "You said you were cold, so let me warm you up," he urged, grabbing a blanket from the back of the couch before he took a seat. "Please?"

Silence fell over you as you sat down beside him. He wasted no time putting the blanket over you and wrapping his arms around your shaking frame. You breathed in his familiar scent and found yourself fighting off tears, a bittersweet swirl of longing and comfort settling in your chest.

Because he embraced you as if you meant something to him.

"I missed you," he whispered, running a hand along your back.

Your heart clenched, focusing on the rain falling outside in a melancholy rhythm. "I missed you, too."

"But we have each other again."

"I wish that were true," you whispered.

Why did I say that?

His hand stilled, but you were too afraid to look at him. "What do you mean?" he asked.

Panic bubbled in your chest. You couldn't just blurt out your feelings like this. "I just mean you went from a constant to a fleeting moment in my life," you said, which was the truth. "I don't want things to fizzle after we leave."

Bucky used to be the brightest star in your sky. Then he became the shooting star you missed making a wish upon. But you would forever watch the sky if only to get a glimpse of his bright light.

"I'll make it up to you. I have this whole week to start," he promised, rubbing his chin along the top of your head. "I don't care what Steve has planned. I'm all yours."

You squeezed your eyes shut because you knew you'd cry if you didn't. He wasn't yours. Not really.

"I'm yours, too, Bucky."

I always will be.

Andrés’s full name is Andrés Amor Guzmán-Madrigal.

His first name means “manly” and his middle name means “love”. 

He is the second child of Dolores Madrigal and Mariano Guzmán.

He has his mother’s darker skin tone, nose, and hair, and his father’s facial features and eyes.

He is fifteen years old.

He has an older sister by six years, Leta, a younger brother by a year, Carlos, and two younger sisters by four years, Avila and Amada.

He likes boys, and has a crush on one, Isaac.

His gift is invisibility. He can turn his entire body, including his clothes, invisible. He can’t turn anybody else invisible, or anything else he touches. He likes his gift because he’s very shy, and uses it to hide. He doesn’t mind that his gift ostracizes him like the other outcasts, due to his social anxiety.

His door portrays only his top half—the rest of him is just an outline. His hands are at his sides.

His room has dark walls that shift colors between dark purple, blue, and indigo. There’s hardly any light, making it hard to see him in there even if he wasn’t invisible. All the furniture is black, and there are no mirrors. His bed is very fluffy and comfortable, with dozens of pillows and blankets.

His symbol is a crossed out eye.

He and Dolores are the closest out of the family. Dolores loves how quiet Andrés is, and Andrés loves how Dolores can soothe his anxious thoughts.

Andrés and Mariano love to write poetry together, and generally get along.

He loves Leta, but wishes she weren't so loud and energized. They get along best when she’s too tired to do anything but talk. He also worries about her and her self-destructive tendencies.

Carlos tends to be a bit antagonistic to Andrés, so they don’t get along very well. They don’t understand each other, and Andrés thinks he’s too rough around the edges.

He cares about Avila and Amada, and is very loving towards them both. He gives them life advice, and is there for the quiet moments when they need him.

He hangs out with the other “outcast” cousins: Sofía, Fuega, Zoe, Hugo, and Óscar.

He gets along best with Bruno, Antonio, and Fuega.

Like his father, he writes poetry. But instead of love poetry, it’s emotional poetry. He keeps a poetry journal that services as a diary.

He loves watching rain, playing in rain, listening to rain…he loves the rain. Even though his powers are obsolete when it rains.

He has a crush on a boy from the village, but has never told anyone, ever. (Dolores knows, but she keeps his secret).

He has an incredible singing voice, but is too shy to sing for anyone. (Once again, Dolores knows, but hasn’t said a word).

His favorite jacket was made for him by Mirabel. He wears it everywhere, and whenever he starts to outgrow it, Mirabel makes adjustments so he can keep wearing it.

His favorite colors are dark purple, dark blue, dark indigo, and even darker purple.

I'm not sure if you know much about Steven Universe but...Diamond au?

Alma is basically white diamond (The supreme Diamond basically), or should I say, Magenta diamond?

Pepa is obviously yellow diamond, Julieta is blue diamond, and Bruno is green diamond.

The grandkids are kind of...young diamonds? (I know in the show it's canon that Diamonds and crystal gems don't age but I'm switching things around for fun.)

So, young Diamonds are typically minded from underground places and it's extremely rare to find one and even rarer to find six.

(So, in the ground they're technically like babies in stone. There's no certain way of knowing when a Diamond will be born so you kinda just have to...wait.)

Isabela was born first, then Dolores. 2000 years later, Luisa was born. 4000 years later, came Camilo and then Mirabel. 10,000 years later, came Antonio.

Like in your Giant siren au, the diamond madrigal adults & teens are huge with Antonio being the smallest. But he's just as tall as the average adult.

Roles -

Magenta (Alma) is the leader and in charge of establishing Gemkind's identity. Yellow, Green, and Blue, holding second-tier status, oversee Home world's military and culture respectively. The grandkids are charge of throwing celebrations for the achievements of the other Diamonds.

In this au the adults aren't addressed as mama/Tia/Tio/Abuela they are just addressed as their colors. Same for the grandchildren-

Isabela = Violet

Dolores = Red

Luisa = Purple

Camilo = Gold

Mirabel = Teal

Antonio = Bronze, cider, Mikado, or apricot (I'm not sure which one to choose from.)

The husbands in this Au are pearls. And yes, they still love their big wives.

Agustin = Oxford blue pearl

Felix = Honey Pearl

Are the grand-diamonds spoiled? Yes, they were cute as diamond-lings so how could the older diamonds not spoil them? Are the grand-diamonds still sweet? Also, yes.

BLUE DOLORES SHEETS!!🩵 I noticed that I didn’t show how she looked like and that I don’t really do much with this Au but I loveeeee this Au and it got in my head for a while XP

Dolores loves kids, she often helps mirabel babysit them. Since she doesn’t talk much she often rather just listens to their rants, never do they stop talking and for her it’s rather amusing!

Besides being with kids, Dolores still has other chores, such as needing to give gossip (sometimes depends on what the topic is), helping with couples, Dolores hates helping couples more than giving out gossip. She has to listen how they talk to her r problems and then they expect her to solve it. Then she also has her regular chores, like listening out for trouble!

Growth and gift.

As isabela and Dolores grow they are gifted another baby.

Modern au

"Isabela just turned one four months ago, how did this happen?" Julieta thought as she looked at the positive pregnancy test on the bathroom counter.

"Mi amor, are you ok?" Agustin asked on the opposite side of the locked door.

"I-I'm fine." Julieta said stuffing the test into her bra so Agustin wouldn't see. She exited the bathroom a moment later with a smile so he wouldn't be suspicious.

"Can you help Felix put the girls down for their nap while I make lunch with Pepa?" Julieta asked calmly trying not to show the obvious nervousness in her tone.

"of course, we'll even pull out the winter clothes to go through after dinner." Agustin said going to find his daughter.

"Pepa, come help me make lunch" Julieta called.

"Ok, but don't you usually shoo me out of the kitchen to do it all yourself?" Pepa said following her sister downstairs.

"I still would but I need to talk to you," Julieta said.

"What's wrong?" Pepa said planting herself on the countertop near where Julieta was cooking.

"So I was supposed to get my period on Tuesday and it's Saturday and I haven't had it yet so I took a pregnancy test just to see and it came out positive." Julieta said

"Oh. What were you two doing? We've barely had time away from the girls," Pepa said.

"I know, but that weekend we sent them to mama's, Agustin and I took full advantage." Julieta said.

"Are you telling him?" Pepa asked hopping down from her perch to get a glass of water, but in a wine glass because it felt appropriate for the sisterly gossip.

"well I wanted to talk to you about that, I want to surprise him," Julieta said

"I have an idea, let me call my girlfriend Pam, she's a creative genius and she has a knack for pregnancy announcements." Pepa said picking up the home phone and dialing the number

"hey Pam, I need a favor, and a bottle of alcohol free wine,"

Several days later when Agustin got home from work one evening, he went to change out of his work clothes and saw a box on the bed.

He opened it and unwrapped the tissue paper. In it he found the positive pregnancy test and a onesie that said 'look out world, here I come'

"Julieta?" He said quietly.

"I'm right here," she said emerging from the bathroom with her blue nightgown on and hair nearly wrapped up in a towel.

"is this true?" He asked

"yeah I've got the first ultrasound next week," Julieta said

"I'm gonna be a dad again," he laughed picking up his wife and twirling her around.

Seven months pass with happiness and explanation to the girls. It is nearing Isabela and Doloress birthdays and Julieta knew this baby would be born in September.

She was struggling though, her belly was huge, bigger than when Isabela was born. And her back hurts worse than it ever had, and she was still in her 20's. She prayed she wasn't carrying twins, one was plenty. Especially since having a two year old is hard enough.

The first week of September came and that Saturday she was admitted after her water broke. It wasn't until Sunday evening that her baby girl was born. A whipping 6 pounds 9 ounces. She was even smaller than Isabela who weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces at birth.

What Julieta wondered is how something so small could take up so much room. Julueta was so large by the time she had this little girl everyone around town was questioning whether or not she had twins cooking in her. By the end Julieta was wondering herself if somehow she had twins.

But never less her second daughter was born and beautiful. Agustin took the liberty of letting Julieta have some time with their baby to go get her something to eat. His poor wife hasn't eaten anything for almost 30 hours.

After she had eaten and the baby had successfully latched and nursed. They had to decide on a name.

"I feel like she looks like a Luise," Agustin said looking at the sleeping infant.

"I was thinking Lisa," Julieta voiced.

"Luisa, it combines both names," Agustin suggested.

"I love it, Luisa Everly, a perfect name for our beautiful daughter," Julieta smiled.

After filling out the paperwork they got to go home with baby Luisa and introduce her to the girls.

When they arrived the two toddlers looked at the carrier.

"This is your sister Isa," Julieta said trying to get Isa to interact with Luisa.

Neither girl was interested in the infant, but Julieta expected that in this stage. By the time the eldest two got their own room, they would be pulling Luisa around with them.

And now the beginning of something wonderful.

Amada’s full name is Amada Rafaela Guzmán-Madrigal.

Her first name means “beloved” and her middle name means “heal”. 

She is the fifth child of Dolores Madrigal and Mariano Guzmán.

She has her father’s lighter skin tone and straight hair. She has Dolores’ facial shape and ears. Her hair is lighter than her parents, probably from Pepa. She also has Pepa’s teeth. She looks almost identical to Avila, but is slightly shorter, and has slightly lighter skin.

She is eleven years old.

She has an older sister by eight years, Leta, an older brother by three years, Andrés, an older brother by two years, Carlos, and an older twin sister by thirty seconds, Avila.

She is currently uninterested in romance or sex.

Her gift is water manipulation. She can control and breathe underwater, but can’t conjure it. She loves her gift, and likes to blast people with water for fun.

Her door portrays her smiling with her arms in the air. Small water droplets fall around her, with one large bubble of water hovering above her head.

Her room resembles the nursery, with pale blue walls and wooden floors. The front part of her room is normal for visitors, but the rest of it is completely underwater. Her bed and other amenities are floating in the water, all anchored to the floor with ropes. There’s another rope on her bed she ties herself to so she doesn’t float off in her sleep.

His symbol is a water drop.

She and Dolores get along alright, but she is much more active and loud than her mother. They do share a love of bows, and Amada always wears a hair bow in her honor.

Both twins are Mariano’s pride and joy. They are his babies, and can do no wrong.

Leta is a horribly great influence on both twins. They often act as her sidekicks when she does stunts.

Andrés is the sibling they go to when they’re upset or scared. He always has comforting words for them.

Carlos gives the twins free stuff from his store, and encourages their wild antics.

She mainly hangs out with the other younger kids, Mariana, Tomás, Rómulo, Zoe, José, Héctor. She also spends time with Princesa.

She gets along best with Pepa, Isabela, and Tomás.

She’s more girly than her twin. She’ll go to Princesa to get her hair done, and cares a lot about clothes.

Unsurprisingly, she likes to swim. She spends more time in the rivers and canals around the Encanto than outside of them.

She plays the piano, but isn’t as good as her cousins. Even so, she, José, Beatriz, and a few others have a ‘band’ of sorts.

She got her ears pierced when she turned ten, and almost caused a flood in the Encanto with how freaked out she was. In the end it didn’t even hurt all that much.

She and Avila like to consider themselves like the ‘younger’ versions of Amelia and Sofía.

Her favorite colors are light blue, navy, turquoise, and light yellow.

Switch up is definitely something 💀 not anything bad, but you know. Different dynamics, some stuff def changed. I also changed some hair and clothes. Nothing major, but I just wanted to <333

Julieta is constantly worrying over people, a little too much, especially Agustín and he always calms her down. Pepa is pretty chill, she always gives the best hugs and calms everyone else down. Felix, he’s so reckless, but like he means well 🗣️🗣️

Isabela is little more closed off, but she’s not nearly as quiet, though it is a little hard to get her to open up. Not as mean to Mirabel. Dolores is basically the opposite to Isabela, and though she doesn’t like invading privacy, she uses her bit more openly, and doesn’t hide from Mariano lol. Luisa likes doing tricks for people (like she did when she first got her gift), and isn’t so much of a prankster as an entertainer. Daredevil maybe??

Camilo uses his gift pretty much strictly to help, he doesn’t really do pranks to be honest. Mirabel is a bit more timid, and though she does help, she’s not as hyper and jumping around; she doesn’t really mention or feel the intense need of wanting to prove herself, mainly cause of Agustín. Antonio, on the other hand, is always jumping around. Like a super hyper five year old basically 💀

Bonus I also swapped Alma with Bruno and Pedro, because I might as well 😭

Bruno is straight forward with his visions, and doesn’t let anyone talk him down, it’s insane. Bro locked in 🦈 Alma is very secretive, especially about the gifts. I think she would’ve even tell the town, she tells the family to use their gifts in secret basically (Bruno is always by her side).

Pedro is a prideful but?? Humble, he cared very deeply for his family, hence why he sacrificed himself. Willing to anything; also a major perfectionist. Alma always tries to see the brighter side of things, and always puts her family first, the miracle is like. Barely even second. (Very similar to canon Mirabel).

The couples started haveng kids when they were twenty instead of thirty

Julieta wears Pink and Magenta like her mother instead of blue like her husband

Alma is trying to get the priest to annul Julieta and Augustíne’s marriage

Augustine and the kids all know Bruno is in the walls

Isabela has divided out a section of her room and given it to her Dad
