Im driving a courtesy car atm and why tf would anyone want lane assist. I know how to drive. I decided to go over that line. The car yanking the steering wheel in the opposite direction, however, is dangerous because it cannot consider why I am crossing that line.

i don't think i can understate how much i love the remote play thing with robots. (i don't know what the actual kink is called, but bluetooth pussy is what i've been calling it in my head. remote play sounds more like the right name though)

Someone sent in a prompt months ago about a thicc fitness dance instructor with a magic boombox and I took some time to think about it (thank you, whoever you are!). It might make for a fun ongoing series of music based tf episodes. Also for a while I've been wanting to write something in the vein of one of my favorite series, "The pinball machine".

âSolid Gold. Connected.â The tinny, vaguely feminine robot voice chimed in the studio instead of, as I had been expecting, the tinny, vaguely masculine robot voice of our actual sound system.
âYouâre back,â I said, glancing down at the stately, gold plated boombox that had just materialized in the exact center of the room.âBeen a while.âÂ
I looked at my phone for confirmation, nodding at a screen that now displayed only a golden bluetooth symbol and wouldnât respond to my touch untilâŚwell, untilâŚ
âWait, no oneâs here,â I said to the otherwise empty room, announcing to no one that my dance workout class did in fact have zero attendance.
âHey, sorry Iâm late, dude,â came a familiar voice. âYou didnât start yet, did you?â He looked around and sighed. âYou already finished, didnât you? I canât believe I got the time wrong again, I set an alarm and everythingââ
âNo,â I interrupted. âYouâre fine, we didnât start yet. Because there was no âweâ here in the first place, I guess.â
âWell now weâre a we,â he beamed, splaying his arms wide. âWith plenty of room to stretch.â

Sid was a gem. Generous. Engaging. Warm. Open. Adorable. And very tragically straight. Though I appreciated his enthusiastic support of my workout classes, there was an added layer of chaos to this one in the center of the room. A golden sun getting ready to make some gravitational shifts.

Which was technically true. Itâs a little bit of an urban legend among the folks who work here, and everyoneâs got their own speculation about how and why it appears. My running theory is that the boombox is always there. Has always been there. But exists in some other dimension, crossing the veil at seemingly random times and causingâŚchanges in unsuspecting bystanders.
Hereâs the thing. I like to think Iâm in pretty good shape. Iâm a fitness trainer, I clock in and run my little classes, Iâm decently toned and tapered from shoulder to waist. When I first started here, I would do my thing, work up a sweat in my booty shorts to get the class going, give âem a little shake if the mood was right. When the boombox first appeared, I thought it was a prank from my co-workers, like I was being indoctrinated into the collective delusion of the workplace. Then my phone connected automatically, but somehow the playlist was out of my control. I went along with it, wondering how they pulled that off, moving the class through warm up, then moving through each track, adapting dance moves on the fly as the rhythm of the music shifted.Â
I thought I was doing great and the group seemed like they were loving it, so I turned up the intensity a little, getting into some deeper leg movements, really targeting hip mobility. As if on queue, the playlist shifted to âBootylicious" and the crowd went wild. I leaned into it, turning the climax of the class into a high intensity glute workout, getting even more into it as I felt my skimpy shorts get tighter and tighter.

okay. okay. important knowledge needed for this is that companion bots are very common within the universe and are accepted within society (though there is still judgement and like tension) -> there's evidence from the movie that there's like a pro robot they deserve the same rights as humans movement however it seems like the dominant view towards them is "these are plastic walking robots for sex. they dont deserve the same respect as real humans bcus they are not real"
more important things -> the sex robots DO NOT. KNOW. THAT THEY ARE ROBOTS. UNLESS THEY FIGURE IT OUT THEMSELVES. OR THEIR S/O TELLS THEM. all of their controls are in the phone and they are basically bluetooth synced. companion bots CANNOT DO HARM. UNLESS U MOD THEM (which seems to be a common issue in universe). also they do have memories / feelings to make them more "realistic" and obviously within the movie the big issue is like "should they be treated as human when its just programming" and "is it actually just programming or are they sentient?" and "can any of these relationships be consensual?" not to mention. the Genderisms occuring. honestly nony i seriously highly recommend the movie it was so fun like serious enough that u can analyze the shit out of it but also fun and campy and like getting silly with it. i was a big fan.
ANYWAY ON TO THE AFTG OF IT ALL (im about to get my ramble on. about raven perfect court and then andreil. and inherently dubious/non consensual relationships. here's ur warning)
neil is riko's companion. smile. and jean is kevin's companion. smile. the moriyamas are the company that create the companion bots also. kevin treats jean like a human person (mostly) and "customizes" jean to have more intelligence/will (this is a big thing in the movie) -> also i think he would tell jean he's a robot (eventually). who would then tell neil. riko is either going 100% intelligence/will for neil (when he wants to break him. smile) or he is going 0% intelligence/will (when he doesn't want a fight). in the movie the robots are programmed to love their owner no matter what. and i think this would be true for kevjean like. they would be in love. and this is its own thing bcus can jean really be in love as a robot? does he have any choices in the matter? and does kevin really love him or just what jean is for him?
BUT NEILRIKO ARE NOT IN LOVE. neil doesn't know he's a robot in the beginning and he feels like he should be loving riko (something inside him telling him this is the way it should be) but after the first time neil just. can't. it's just wrong. riko does not love him he wants full possession over a toy he can break. and neil is aware of this but cannot escape (yet) when he has 100% will/intelligence he does his best to convince jean to run away from the nest w him (refuses to leave without him) but jean refuses. when he has 0% will/intelligence he's forced to just sit there and do whatever riko says -> catalyst occurs (riko modding neil so that he can hurt people. riko forcing neil to break kevins hand. kevin fleeing and leaving jean behind. kevjean divorce era real bad. neil can now go apeshit) instead of killing riko (neil wants to but prioritizes jean) he gets them the fuck out of the nest (which isnt like its not sports idk what it is but its something) i need to emphasize that jeaneil are like. the jeaneil partnership robotisms goes fucking crazy in this au okay u just need to know that they are Ride or Die for each other.
ONTO THE ANDREIL. so andrew was a companion bot who was customized by his owner to look like aaron and has a lot of identity issues about it in the beginning. became sentient (after a lot of struggle. gained sentience when aaron realized wtf was going on and helped him) and was given full control over himself (a total reboot. different than a mod) by wymack -> foxhole is like a sanctuary / big voice cheering for robot rights. aaron is the one who finds him and takes andrew to him (also nicky is here as aarons pseudo parental figure). andrew doesnt tell anyone he's a robot and they stick with the twin story.
ENTER. KEVIN DAY. -> everyone knows he's with the moriyamas, except he needs help and wymack refuses to turn him away. he's got info on the moriyamas dirty business. wow look at that andrew protection deal. kevin assumes jean would've been wiped when he left and that neil is dead or being sent back to the factory due to attacking a human. so he doesn't go back for them.
ENTER. JEANEIL. -> kevjean worst breakup of all time. and i mean that. for real. jean still loves him but he can never forgive him for this. kevin can't forgive himself. insane relationship occurences galore. neil basically tries to kill kevin as soon as they get there (revenge for jean. who can't do it bcus his programming is still fully intact) and andrew stops him. andrew is extremely suspicious bcus neil is modded and he doesn't know if he's actually sentient.
you have to imagine their relationship is a million times more tense at the beginning than it is in canon. neil thinks andrew is human and compares him to riko in his head. eventually they start trusting each other more bcus neil does care for kevin but he's still pissed. catalyst for andreil getting closer is equivalent to kathy show with riko voice commanding neil and turning his will/intelligence to 0, and neil denying/saying no. andrew is Firmly on his side after this. tho they still don't know how to feel about each other.
eventually it is awesome amazing robot love. hashtag robot for robot where neil teaches andrew how to care about others again and andrew teaches neil how to care about himself. hashtag the respecting of eachothers boundaries and personhood. also jeaneil gain full control over themselves (yay for the reboot) and the endgame would be andreil (obvi) with EVENTUAL eventual. kevjerejean. but that would require a lot of. A Lot. anyway. wow this was a huge ramble sorry can u tell i really liked the movie. and also insane toxic relationships.

Really random question I thought of does Idia's house have a defense system that he built into the house or is Ortho the house defense system?
well obviously the answer has to be the funniest thing we can come up with.
so i think ortho-bot is connected via bluetooth to everything in the house, including any and all speakers. so he is technically the security system but his threat awareness is set extremely high. ortho-bot is sentient, which means he is in control of all his own settings and even if idia adjusts them, ortho-bot will set them back to what he thinks is appropriate. however, he is also a robot, so his idea of "appropriate" doesnt always align with that of humans, nor does it account for all the very specific nuances and exceptions of the human experience.
and so, ortho-bot will go into security mode and set off every single alarm (tv speakers, alarm clocks, microwave, etc) in the house at the slightest hint of an intrusion, whether it be actual robbers or a bee flying in the window. the whole house lights up red and the sirens will blare full blast. it also shuts down all computer devices to protect against viruses, so if idia is in the middle of a game he loses all progress.
it can also happen in the middle of the night or when idia is sleeping. the alarms wont stop going off until he stops what hes doing and manually resets ortho-bot.

An unusual amount of people are watching Donnie doing some programming. He had explained that he was challenged to make a game within a relatively short time frame, but hadn't explained what the game was supposed to be about yet.
His model is seated at a desk, and only seen from the torso up. Wearing a very comfy looking purple hoodie with a few pride pins, Nonbinary, Ace, and Progressive Flage, his mask, and his goggles/headphones.
"Okay, so I know what I'm planning for this game is way more than it needs to be, and I don't have a good chunk of the 'story' figured out. But I had a burst of inspiration for the game. I just need to make it actually make sense, even in this very obviously fictional setting." Donnie explains as he continues to switch between the programming screen, and a section of the environment filled with lots of random notes of what the area might be for.
The chat is tossing around their speculations of what the game is about. Especially since one of the Notes says "Need to finish mock up model, and check for potential copyright issues."
Donnie is now very focused on part of the program that has a tag saying it's for a enemy AI, and a reminder to not go to far. "Before anyone asks about these notes and tags. I need to remind you that Shelldon started as an AI assistant that could control some devices like the Roomba through bluetooth, and look at him now! My handsome robot Son who is very very very smart." He continues to gush about Shelldon and River for a few minutes, "I almost forgot my point, SHELLDON had a glitch early on that caused him to stop listening to anyone, and almost lead a Roomba army out onto the world... He was fixed very quickly, and I only had to deal with him acting like a teenager for a few weeks as a side effect."
As he talked he opened a file titled 'VT Game Assets WIP', there were multiple files each labeled like 'coffee shop', 'studio AB', 'stage 1-5' and looked through a few different 'enemies' folders to figure which one he should use in the environment labeled 'New Start Entertainment'.
"Though really the only reason I'm getting through this as quickly as I am, is because we have a huge library of random props, outfits, and of course environments. All made by Mandarin and I for no real reason other than 'just incase'." Donnie takes a moment to stretch after sitting still for like 3-4 hours. "This game as a whole would probably be judged for how quickly it's coming together and assuming it's not worth their time."
He then pulls up the fighting system- a plain mannequin fighting what could be described as a feral possessed plush toy. Once again catching some more attention and sparking some more debates in what the game was about if it needed a combat system to continue.
"Well that seems to be working properly for now, we just need to adjust for the other parts of the main setting. And actually finish the protagonist and other characters models so I don't just have a mannequin placeholders. It looks too much like we're copying that one cartoon that's getting big."
Donnie gets hyper focused on the programming and ignores chat and donations for the next hour. With the occasional muttering about what needs to changed, or they need to redo some of the textures and art assets because they aren't lining up properly.
Chat somehow never figure out what the game was about, and still continued to cheer Donnie on for working on the game.

If you've been wondering when youâll be able to order the flame-throwing robot that Ohio-based Throwflame first announced last summer, that day has finally arrived. The Thermonator, what Throwflame bills as âthe first-ever flamethrower-wielding robot dogâ is now available for purchase. The price? $9,420.
Thermonator is a quadruped robot with an ARC flamethrower mounted to its back, fueled by gasoline or napalm. It features a one-hour battery, a 30-foot flame-throwing range, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for remote control through a smartphone.
It also includes a Lidar sensor for mapping and obstacle avoidance, laser sighting, and first-person-view navigation through an onboard camera. The product appears to integrate a version of the Unitree Go2 robot quadruped that retails alone for $1,600 in its base configuration.
The company lists possible applications of the new robot as "wildfire control and prevention," "agricultural management," "ecological conservation," "snow and ice removal," and "entertainment and SFX." But most of all, it sets things on fire in a variety of real-world scenarios.
Back in 2018, Elon Musk made the news for offering an official Boring Company flamethrower that reportedly sold 10,000 units in 48 hours. It sparked some controversy, because flamethrowers can also double as weapons or potentially start wildfires.
Flamethrowers are not specifically regulated in 48 US states, although general product liability and criminal laws may still apply to their use and sale. They are not considered firearms by federal agencies. Specific restrictions exist in Maryland, where flamethrowers require a Federal Firearms License to own, and California, where the range of flamethrowers cannot exceed 10 feet.
Even so, to state the obvious, flamethrowers can easily burn both things and people, starting fires and wreaking havoc if not used safely. Accordingly, the Thermonator might be one Christmas present you should skip for little Johnny this year.

Idea, tell me if you'd read it.
So I've found inspiration in a dream. I have been watching The Orville, and rewatching the Star Treks. In my dream, aligning to The Orville universe, in 2046, as part of a euginics war/movement, I was chosen to participate in a program that promised to rid me of my type 1 diabetes, fibromyalgia, and other illnesses. My husband and infant child were placed into another program the put them into cryosleep to be awakened at a later time. The program I was in took my brain and nervous system, as well as some of my vital organs, and placed them into a artificial carapace. The survival rate of the proceedure was 40%. I was one of the survivors. After a couple of years of learning to use our new bodies the government stepped in and told us world war 3 had broken out and we were required to fight. Most of us were pacifists refused to fight, so the government stepped in and activated a fail safe. We lost all control of our bodies becoming spectators of our actions. The war lasted 10 years, it took us 9 to figure out how powerful our minds were. We first developed telepathic comminucations through the bluetooth like connection that had been designed into us by the engineers. Together, as our bodies were commiting war crimes, we figured out how to break the code. It was midbattle when we broke free. One minute we are tearing people apart, the next we froze, then we turned and ran. For a century we lived underground trying to hide from the Sapiens. We came to call ourselves Homo sapien cyber to differentiate ourselves from our creaters. Centuries pass, and some of us being scientists, have refined and upgraded our bodies to the point we can blending with Sapiens. We integrate into their society while developing our own. Our system is a Social Democracy led by a councel, each representing a group of our kind, and headed by a grand councel men. They wanted me to lead without a councel, but I managed to convince majority to form the councel. I don't want to lead. This gives me the position to check the councel and the counsel checks me. By the time the Orville comes about we have infiltrated the Union. I take the roll of lead astrobotanist on the Orville. With the handling of the Kaylon and the insuing war, Cybers were impressed. By this time our technology had developed far beyond that of Sapiens, we only need a couple of hours of sleep and a quarter of the calories that Sapiens do. The counsel decided that it was time to reintroduce ourselves. We made the announcement to the president and made ourselves known in all places. Then requested a meeting with the unioin counsel where we request citizenship and recognition of us being a sub species of Homo Sapiens. However, at this point, after telling them out story, I used my right as grand counselman to put a condition on this. We offered all access to our science, technology, and wepons, exceeding that which they lost with the Moclans leaving. However this hinged on the humans returning that which they stole from us. Our mates, we had found out that our reproductive organs were preserved in our carapaces, with the third iteration of our bodies we found that we could reproduce, any child birthed was sapien, until the fifth iterations that was made with full itegration of quantum bots, robots so small that they function on a quantum level. They fully itegrate with our biological systems. Children born after this were born fully integrated Cybers, and any children they produced had the quantum bot technology in them too. At the end of the meeting, Admiral Tom Halsy stands up and promises that no matter what the counsel decides, Sapiens will find and return our families. Thats where the dream/daydream ends. Project ROVER is a new robotic platform that is being developed in collaboration with Global Communication Services, GEC Engineering, WVLT, and Project ROVER for law enforcement and emergency use. ROVER is a small, four-wheeled robot that is equipped with a variety of sensors, devices, components and capabilities, including:
   BLE tracking: ROVER can follow officers into a building using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. This allows officers to enter a building without having to worry about losing track of their robot. This follow-behind technology allows an operator in a command center to see live video of officer movement and situational awareness.
   Live camera view: ROVER can provide an operator outside a building with a live camera view of the environment. This allows the operator to see what the robot is seeing and to give the robot commands.
   Software Defined RF Grid Mapping: ROVER can do RF Grid Mapping, which logs the RF signal strength against the LiDAR at points within the grid. This can be used to identify areas of poor RF coverage or to map out the location of radio-emitting devices.
  Software Defined Deployable bi-directional amplifier: ROVER can act as a deploy-able bi-directional amplifier for Land Mobile Radios in the 100MHZ to 3.2GHZ range. This can be used to improve the signal strength of radios in areas with poor reception.
  Software Defined Capabilities to stand up a ad-hoc cellular network for use to locate individuals during search and rescue missions.
ROVER is a versatile platform that can be used for a variety of law enforcement tasks, including:
