Title: Crush II
Pairing: Corpse Husband x fem!youtuber!reader
Collab with: @the-winter-sxldier-posts
Requested by: Anonymous
Request:  You HAVE to write a part 2 of crush where they meet! It would be so cuteeee!
Word Count: 1667
Warnings: a little swearing but mostly fluff
Note: The images doesn’t belong to me, all the credits go to the respective creators. I only made the collage. Also, I will not make anything to make Corpse uncomfortable, if he ends saying he doesn’t like fanfiction about him, I will delete this.
Part I: Here
♦⋅☆⋅♦ Y/N pressed her left foot on the clutch pedal, turned the car key and heard the engine roaring loudly afterwards. She added the address on the GPS, looked at herself in the mirror for a moment taking a deep breath, trying to stay calm and focused. She put the car in first gear, and started driving from her apartment complex's private parking lot to the main road.
As her small and comfortable car drove through the streets of Los Angeles, the girl kept listening to what was on the radio. Every now and then, her stomach would churned with nervousness but she would take a deep breath and smile uncertainly to herself, trying to convince herself that everything would be okay.
Fed up with the podcast she was listening to, turned her car's Bluetooth on when she had to stop at a red traffic light, she switched to her current favorite Playlist.
Distracted by the music and humming softly accompanied by Rihanna's voice, she put the first gear back on, moving the car forward when the traffic light turned green, quickly shifting to the second and then putting on the third.
Her mind was racing, however.
Life had gone well since that specific day... since Y/N and Corpse confessed their feelings to each other. Their mutual friends that they played with knew the truth and were extremely happy for them, which was wonderful and soothing. Outside of them, no one else knew what had happened.
Corpse and Y/N talked every day, stayed on the phone every night until one of them fell asleep unfortunately, the girl always fell asleep first, and saw each other through FaceTime whenever they could.
In other words, the two could say that they were basically dating already... Even though there was never a real question. But perhaps that was about to change, for the day had finally come when they would meet physically.
A sound of receiving a phone call invaded the car and interrupted her thoughts. With a smile on her lips already knowing who was, Y/N clicked on the answer button and waited while entering a roundabout.
"Hey." That characteristic deep voice was heard.
"Hey you." She replied while looking briefly at his name written on the car screen.
"Are you on your way yet?"
"Yes, I just left the house. I'll be there In about two hours, depending on the traffic today."
Corpse cleared his throat and Y/N almost visualized him playing with his rings, and messing with his dark curly hair. "Are you sure you haven't forgotten anything?"
"Well, I hope not. I’ve had my bags packed for two days, but I think I have everything that is necessary with me. If not, there is no problem really." She replied.
"This is going to... This is really going to happen isn't it?" She could hear the smile in the man's voice.
"Yes, Corpse, it is. We will finally meet in person."
"I can't wait to see you." He whispered.
Y/N felt her cheeks warm for a moment, and she knew that if she looked in the mirror she would see a dark pink tone on her skin. She bit her lower lip in an attempt to stop the huge smile. "I can't wait to give you a big hug and tell you everything face to face."
Corpse laughed deeply, his tone was warm and full of emotion. "I know... I am anxious, and I am not going to lie about it. I'm super nervous. My hands are shaking so much that I don't even know how I haven't dropped my phone yet."
"Oh, Corpse..." Y/N whispered with a heavy heart, but was attentive to the road at the intersection where she was. "There is no reason to be nervous, it's just me. It’s just us."
"I know..." He sighed softly. After a few minutes without speaking, enjoying the comfortable silence between the two and listening to the sound of the Y/N’s car motor, he continued. "Well..." Corpse cleared his throat. "I will let you concentrate on your driving. Be careful and pay attention to the road."
"I will, I’ll see you later."
"Bye."
"Bye, Corpse."
The call ended but the anxiety and nervousness did not. However, only the sound of his voice and the small conversation they had was able to make Y/N smile all the way to San Diego.
                                                          ♦⋅☆⋅♦
Y/N pressed the turn signal, the green arrow flashing to the right, and parked the car in an empty parking space in front of the building. The woman's neutral and almost robotic voice came from the GPS saying: You have reached your destination. Shaking in her place, the girl put on the brake and turned off the car, taking a deep breath trying to calm herself once more.
It was now or never... Should she send him a message to let him know she was already there? Should she just knock on the door? Her hands were shaking so much, and her heart was beating so hard and so fast that it almost hurt.
She sat in the driver's seat for a few more minutes, so nervous she might pass out. It is better to just go there, she thought, the longer it takes the more nervous I will become.
She took a deep breath, unbuckled her seat belt, removed the keys from the ignition and quickly got out of the car, closing the door behind her, and going to the trunk to remove the pink suitcase. When it was on the floor next to her, she closed the trunk and locked the car safely, looking at the intimidating building in front of her.
Without further ado she approached it, opened the entrance door, climbed the stairs with some difficulty to his floor, and trembling, she shyly knocked on the door with her knuckles.
That door was opened so fast that it even scared her.
They were both looking at each other almost stunned... Finally they were there, in person, just a meter away and with a spine of the door separating them. Corpse was even more beautiful in person, and Y/N found herself lost in his dark eyes for a while.
"Hi..." She said sheepishly.
Corpse looked at her examining her from head to toe as if he couldn't believe she was real. Finally he smiled so beautifully that she almost forgot to breathe. "Hi." He replied.
Y/N dragged the suitcase a little closer to her, uncertain how to proceed. She didn't have time to think, however, as Corpse seemed to get tired of the waiting and shyness between them, crossed the space between the two and took her in his arms. His body was warm against hers, extremely hot, and his embrace was loving and passionate. Y/N inhaled his attractive scent - a mixture of soap, men's perfume and something else - and Corpse laughed through her hair.
"You’re here!" He exclaimed loudly, laughing deeply, spinning in circles with her still in his arms laughing out loud like he was.
When the two were inside the apartment, Corpse released her and pulled her suitcase inside as well, closing the door to prevent any curious neighbor from trying to see what was going on.
The two of them stayed there with smiles so big on their faces that their cheeks hurt… But it was definitely a good pain.
"I don't even know what to say..." Y / N confessed, practically shaking with excitement in her place.
Corpse smiled again, taking her hand timidly and gently, caressing her skin and interlacing their fingers and pulling her closer to him. "Me neither."
They were silent just enjoying the moment, and enjoying the fact that they were there, together... that it was real. How many times had they imagined this? How many times had they dreamed of that moment?
Corpse lowered his head slightly looking into her eyes intently, but his brows furrowed as if something troubling was going through his mind. "I…"
"What is it?" Y/N questioned worriedly.
Corpse made a shy expression. “Can I… Can I kiss you?”
Y/N's cheeks caught fire but her smile was so big, and she was so happy that she felt like she was going to explode at any moment. "Yes! Yes, of course you can…"
The young man approached, with his hand on Y/N's waist to pull her closer and the other one climbing up her arm, her shoulder, then her neck and resting on her burning cheek, where he was caressing the hot skin. Their fresh, labored and nervous breaths mingled, closing the distance until their lips touched, finally in what felt like an explosion of fireworks or an explosion of magic. Corpse's lips were soft and warm against hers, kissing her tenderly, as he brought their bodies together even more almost as if he was afraid that she would disappear at any moment.
The kiss was a mixture of lips and tongues, longing, passion and mostly love. It ended faster than they would have liked, but they stayed in each other's arms, sharing passionate smiles.
After a moment, Corpse whispered, "I still think this is a dream, and that I'm going to wake up after the normal three fucking hours that I can barely sleep."
Y/N laughed with her heart leaping and butterflies in her belly, playing with the laces of the black sweatshirt he had worn that day, wrapping it around her fingers and looking him in the dark eyes. "Me too, I've pinched myself hundreds of times today just to make sure this was real. But if this is a dream, I don't want to wake up anymore."
"I will punch the face of anyone who tries to wake me up." Corpse joked making Y/N let out the laugh he liked so much to hear.
"I love you." She whispered dizzy with emotion.
"That’s good, because I love you too."

Thursday Thoughts: Baymax!
Recently I watched Baymax! – a series of animated shorts on Disney+ set in the world of Big Hero 6. This show follows the titular robot as he roams through San Fransokyo, on a never-ending quest to provide free healthcare for all. It’s completely adorable and heartfelt, and consistently funny. Best of all, each episode presents a different physical or mental health issue and handles the situation with refreshing frankness and thoughtfulness. Neither the illness nor the patient is ever the butt of the joke – with the possible exception of the cat who swallowed a Bluetooth earphone, but then an unhappy cartoon kitty will always be funny. Baymax’s clumsiness and literal-mindedness are this show’s primary source of humor – he is a robot after all, and basically just a balloon with legs. He is also, evidently, incapable of giving up; though his patients protest, Baymax will provide care.
I’ve seen some important opinions online from disabled people who have pointed out that Baymax’s tenacity is a flaw. Simply put, it is not a good thing for a healthcare provider to refuse to take no for an answer. Reflecting on the movie Big Hero 6, Baymax will only shut down if he is told, “I am satisfied with my care.” He does not respond to a simple, “No.” The Baymax! shorts portray Baymax’s unshakable determination to help people as harmless and laughable, instead of as an issue with medical consent. In the real world, many patients – especially people with chronic illnesses – are talked over instead of listened to when it comes to making important decisions about their wellbeing. This can lead to both overmedication and undermedication, and just plain improper treatment.
I see where these viewers are coming from. At the same time, Baymax does respond to “no.” He refuses to give up on solving the problem, yes. However, in every episode, when the patient shows that they are not okay with his methods, Baymax changes his methods. For example, when Sofia, a twelve-year-old panicking over her first period, shoves away the video about tampons and hides in the bathroom stall, Baymax quietly passes her the box of beginner pads, and he adopts a significantly calmer and gentler tone for the rest of the episode. Baymax tries a variety of exposure therapy options for Kiko, and he completely changes his approach the moment she mentions her deceased husband, recognizing that this is not simply a phobia. Baymax repeatedly demonstrates that he is listening to his patients, using their own words in his responses to them – telling Kiko to “live a little,” and suggesting that Mbita “be courageous.” When Cass is stressed out to the point of accidentally hurting herself again over Baymax’s attempts to run the coffee shop, Baymax expresses remorse and takes the blame for her injury. The one time we see Baymax completely refuse to take no for an answer is when it’s a matter of life and death for the patient – when Mbita is experiencing anaphylactic shock.
In each short, the upshot is that what the patient needs even more than treatment is someone to acknowledge their emotions and tell them that everything is going to be okay. Baymax fills this role, and he also gives them the tools and information they need to help things be okay. This is a good story to tell, but it is not the only medical story. Not everything can be fixed with band-aids, shenanigans, and a lollipop.
An excellent next step for this show would be to include a story where someone tells Baymax, “I do not consent to your care” – perhaps because they have a chronic illness, something that cannot be “cured” and the person already knows how to cope with. The person could tell Baymax that they have had enough of medical professionals acting like they know everything even though they’ve never actually lived with the condition. This would give Baymax the opportunity to recognize that this is a problem he cannot “fix,” and that he is the kind of support that this person needs right now. Baymax could encourage the person to find a community who understands their experience, and he may help them find a chat room or support group for people with the same illness. And he’d bump into things with his big balloon body, and offer everyone a lollipop, and things would be happy in the end. Because that’s the kind of show this is.

RIGHT. well. anyway. its time
(put under a readmore for the sake of ease!)
basically, the gist of it is that my sona is me, for all intents and purposes - and by that i mean the fact that it's literally my soul tethered to a robotic body, basically "piloting" it. the body is fully robotic, and if anything, android/gynoid is a better term, but "robot girl" is easier to use
but basically, by using arcane magic that is Fucked Up And I Shouldn't Have Used (while simultaneously fucking winging it - if i died i died balling, that's my argument), i was able to do such a process. the body was built after finding out about such a thing, and my wonderful girlfriend programmed the body's OS and everything. (which is why my sona has a wedding ring :] )
the body runs off a white hole reactor! this allows it to generate mass, which works in a lot of different ways, but basically, just allows for an infinite energy source. (still sleeps and all that, because, well, comfy). this white hole generator also allows for the cleavage to be used as a bit of a really really really big pocket, which allows for hammerspace shenanigans. pulling things out of it that Should Not Be There because it's funny. the skin is a, self described, "chemical compound fuckery" that makes it act and feel LIKE skin, it just... isn't.
her eyes are also LEDs, and act as projectors if needed. basically just used during movie nights. she can also use it to run games -- boasting no input lag. mostly because she can run the inputs for herself internally and utilize bluetooth for other controllers (yes, she runs doom. she runs many games)
the core is similarly just there for visual flair, but it does look wicked. and there's general panel lines across the body -- mostly in the joints
but, that infinite energy source is used to fight evil! kaiju-level threats, literal kaijus, dickheads doing dickhead things, the works. you get the idea, anyway. and you fight these things by gettin huge, ultraman style, to fight them. this is where the MECHA ARMOR comes into play
i tear off the jacket, get about mecha-sized (so like... 75 feet), and the body gets covered in a black "nanoskin" material, which allows the armor pieces to dock on. there's a lot of them, but, they dock in similar to something like the core gundam and/or gaogaigar, and they enable an output in power as well as giving weaponry for it. basically, it's just a cool mecha mode. in this form as well, the chest "core" can open up to fire a big Fuck You beam
the armor has different "modes" as well. fisticuffs, swordplay, ranged play (with a beam gun), etc., and they can adjust to fit these situations. there's also a set of funnels on the armor that can detach and be used for offensive purposes or to create a shield if needed. its basically just a lot of cool mecha references all in one... down to the visual design, which while it doesnt exist YET, will EVENTUALLY, and the reference ideas are exactly what you think
Tumblr media
(what am i if not predictable, after all?)
essentially, just Really Cool Mecha Form with cool mecha ideas.
generally speaking, she's just a cool robot girl design. also has a soundboard for funnies and so that i can make super saiyan noises as needed.
as for the curves? well. that's just a personal indulgence. what's life if not being a 9 foot robotic woman with curves to match.
i feel like every time i get to talk about the lore for my sona i just end up infodumping it lmfao. i cannot help it. im so cool and swag i need to tell people about the lore....

“I’m going to do it,” Y/n said as she sat across from her best friend, Brook. They had been engaging in small talk for nearly ten minutes while occasionally sipping their iced coffees before she sighed and spoke up. “I’m leaving Taehyung.”
“You are!?” Brook’s eyes went wide at her friend’s words.
“Isn’t that what you’ve been telling me I should do?”
“Well, yeah, but I didn’t think you’d work your way up to this point.”
Y/n twisted her straw between her fingers. “When we’re done here, I’m going to pack my stuff and leave.”
“Wow.” They sat in a moment of silence. For Brook, it meant her friend would be free and safe from her psychotic husband’s grasp. For Y/n, it meant a broken heart, divorce, and being forced to start over. It was more than she thought she could handle.
Brook took her hand and squeezed. “Do you want me to come with you? To make sure everything goes smoothly?”
“That’s probably not a good idea. If he is home, it will just turn into a big confrontation and I don’t want him to take it out on you.”
Yeah, okay. How about you get your stuff and come stay at my place. Just until you get on your feet again.“
Y/n smiled. "Thanks, Brooky. You’ve been so amazing through all of this. I really don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Don’t mention it. You deserve someone better than Kim Taehyung. I just want you to be happy.”
With butterflies swarming in her stomach, Y/n got up and tossed her half-finished coffee in the garbage can. She needed to get home and pack fast so she could avoid a run-in with her husband.
“I’ll see you in a few hours. Text me when you’re on the way, okay?” She smiled at Y/n and headed off to her own car.
“Alright. Thanks again.” She drove down the familiar streets she’d taken to get home hundreds of times. Home. Was that even the correct word for it? It sure as hell didn’t feel like a home.
Y/n married Taehyung two years ago and he was everything you wanted and more. He was a gentleman and he loved her. He took care of her, as she did for him. But after the first year of their marriage, Y/n started noticing things that weren’t to her liking. Taehyung got angry fast about almost everything, and he had a major territorial issue. He hated when she would go out without him to see Brook or anyone else, her family included. He would cling to her when he was with her and would get her to promise him she’d love him forever even when she told him every day. But more than anything, his anger scared her. He never laid a hand on her, but he would slam and throw things around. He had a temper and would throw a fit if he didn’t get his way. It wasn’t healthy for Y/n and Brook saw it. She talked to her family and had been meeting with her while Taehyung was at work to convince her she deserved better.
So if this relationship was so wrong and she needed to leave him, why did she feel so guilty. Y/n felt like a liar like she was betraying him and he had no idea. She couldn’t tell if she was more angry with him or with herself. Nevertheless, she felt sick to her stomach the whole drive home.
She pulled up to the long driveway with her hands clutching the steering wheel. Taking a deep breath, she shut the car off and trudged into the house. She had a game plan: first clothes, then anything of minor importance. She wouldn’t stay for too long, just enough time to pack basic necessities. She grabbed a large suitcase from the bedroom closet and began to toss things inside. Her only hope was that Taehyung wouldn’t decide to come home for lunch.
She packed as quickly as possible, keeping an eye on the window while she worked. Soon she had everything she needed, so she texted Brook and made her way downstairs to the car.
Reaching the front door, she froze in place. Tae’s car pulled into the driveway. He was home early. He got out of the car, locking it as he walked closer to their home. Y/n leaped into action, picking up the luggage and running into the next room, nearly shutting the door behind her. Once Taehyung went upstairs, she would make a run for the car. She knew if he saw her now, he would know something was up. Fear was written all over her face.
Tae opened the front door, stepping inside and calling for her.
“Y/n?” No answer. “I’m home,” he shouted. He dropped the keys on a table and removed his shoes to go upstairs. When Y/n was satisfied that he was out of range, she quietly opened the door and snuck out to her car. She threw the suitcase in the back and climbed on the driver’s seat, shutting the door behind her. She started the car and backed out of the driveway before glancing in the rearview mirror. Her husband was glaring at her through their bedroom window, watching her drive away. Oh, fuck.
Still, she kept going. Seconds later, the Bluetooth that connected her phone to the car showed one new message. Clicking on accept the robotic voice read disturbingly, “You have one chance to turn that car around.”
Her stomach burned with anxiety as she continued on.
Another message popped up. Begrudgingly, she hit accept.
“So be it.”
-
Brook sat on her porch with a drink in hand. She couldn’t help it; she was so nervous for Y/n. Brook knew Taehyung would never actually hurt her, but everything they fought over was minor things. Now, she was leaving him. There was no telling what he might do. And that thought had her pacing around her living room until she decided she needed some air.
About two hours after their coffee date, Y/n texted saying she was on the way and she’d call in a minute. After nearly twenty, the phone finally rang.
“Hey. Is everything okay?” She asked, picking up quickly.
“I always knew you were trouble, B, but I never actually thought you’d get her to pull something like this.”
Her blood ran ice cold as her heart stopped. Taehyung.
Her hands trembled as she clutched onto the phone. There was a pause. “Where’s Y/n?” She gulped.
“On the road to recovery.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean!?”
“It means you lost, Brooklyn. I mean, did you really think I’d let you have her; think I would just let her go?” His deep chuckle sent an eerie chill down her spine. There was something he was hinting at that she wasn’t getting, but she knew it was something terrible. “She’s my wife.”
“Listen, you fucking lunatic! If you touch her I swear to god-” Brook started before she heard the siren roaring in the background on his side of the phone. Then he spoke, making Brook launch for her car keys.
“Til death do us part.”

Metal in the Underground AU: General Info
... So, I’ve had this AU in my mind for about two years now, and I felt the urge to post about it now that I have made a new sprite for it’s Frisk. And since I don’t really plan to make a sprite comic about it, I figured I’d dump the ideas I had here. So you’ll find the information below the cut.
What’s this AU about? Well, it revolves around a simple question....
What if Frisk was a robot?
That’s right, Metal in the Underground takes a different to most AUs by merely changing the protagonist, and letting the rest of the characters untouched. However, due to the now apparent artificial nature or Frisk, the characters have different reactions, and the way the story unfolds is somewhat different from Undertale’s.
The info you’ll find here is...
-General Backstory -Frisk bio -Changes in the story  -Changes in mechanics
But, I’m sure you’re wondering...
Why is Frisk a robot?
In the year 211X, technology has advanced in a considerable manner, so much so that household robots, and robots in general, are a commonality in this world. Frisk was one of these household units, who lived with a loving family, until their useful life eventually ran its course, and were shipped back to their manufacturer to be dismantled, and their parts reused for future models.
However, a group of scientists was looking for a robot to work with that they could modify for a project they were tasked to do. Since Frisk was the most recent one to arrive, and the one in the best state, they were picked.
What is this “project”?
Several humans had fallen into Mt. Ebott throughout the years, because of this, many protests had arisen from the town living nearby. The gobverment decided to dispatch a team of scientists to develop a robot that was capable enough to at least find whatever happened. Just enough so that the press would stop bothering, anyways. But they also put the team in a tight budget, hence the use of discarded robots.
What was done to Frisk?
When Frisk was brought to the lab, they managed to upgrade them rather well, they got rid of their memories but kept their experiences untouched due to an oversight (they’d know how to deal with something, they just don’t know why), they upgraded their battery life for obvious reasons. They also made their movements more fluid than the standard for their line, making them able to climb out if push came to shove.
However, they made some rather... questionable choices. Namely, the removal of Frisk’s voice capabilities in favor of a system that would allow the scientists to speak through them should the robot find one of the humans.
The robot didn’t have memories, anyway. It wouldn’t be able to deal with conflictive situations on their own, right?
How did they end up Underground?
Use your imagination.
In reality, the robot was told to climb down the hole into the mountain instead of, I don’t know, making them go down safely via ropes or something. The robot lost communication with the scientists as soon as they entered due to the barrier, the wall they were hanging from collapsed, and they promptly fell into the underground.
Thankfully, they landed on a bed of flowers, somewhat cushioning the damage. But still leaving the poor robot stunned for a good while...
What is Frisk like?
Tumblr media
(Note: the eyes do not represent a chara possesion, it is just the color that was set to by their previous owners, and the scientists liked it a lot.)
Name: Frisk (ooc nickname: Mitu) Height: 5′5
Having household been their job in their past “life”, and having retained those experiences, Frisk has a tendency to cling onto people they deem as friendly, and prefer to keep whatever indoors space they’re in tidy and clean. Their lineage of robots also has some special features that in Frisk have remained unchanged. Said features are...
-Alarm clock -Bluetooth sound stereo (hence their headphone-like ears) -Snapshot ability -They can also be patted on the head to get an instant smile from them, which also serves to turn off their alarm.
In general, their line searches affection from their owners. MitU however cannot really connect with monsters due to the fact that they’re, well, monsters. They have a hard time recognizing monsters as people, since they don’t match with their facial scan systems. They can recognize some similarities, such as toriel looking like a goat, but someone like sans they’re lost in even figuring out what he is.
They’re also somewhat aquaphobic, since they aren’t waterproof. So areas like waterfall are horrendous to go through for them. They can also remain operative even after taking somewhat concerning damage, and even repair themselves provided they’re given the tools (they are not).
All in all, MitU is a kind robot when it comes to humans, they are loyal as a puppy and such. But when it comes to monsters, their morale can be ... bent, depending on their actions during either Genocide or Pacifist routes. (Note: while a genocide route is just about as likely as a pacifist route, a theoretical genocide route is not canon to the AU.)
What changes from the original Undertale story?
For starters, Chara is not present in the story. This is due to the lack of a SOUL on Frisk’s part, meaning they cannot understand certain monsters (Froggits, for example), and they have to guide themselves based on visual aid. They also provide some flavor text themselves. The lack of a SOUL also means that they cannot interact with SAVE files at all, but don’t worry, Flowey the Flower comes to the Rescue!
Mainly for personal amusement, Flowey wants to help Frisk get as far into the underground as possible, and see how they tackle the sheninegans that the underground is filled with. Often times, he’ll give them advice after reloading for anything up ahead. Frisk cannot remember reloads, anyway...
This doesn’t mean that flowey becomes an active partner, he only pops up from time to time to give Frisk advice.
Since Frisk is strictly mute, and has not been taught sign language, they can hardly communicate with Monsters. They try to get their ideas across as clear as possible via pointing and acting, but no one really knows what they’re trying to say. they’re trying their best pls don’t pick on them ;-; As a result, some monsters have different behaviours towards them.
For instance, Toriel (who is well aware of Frisk being a robot) decides to take the robot with her while she buys her groceries in fear that the robot might not have the best reaction to an encounter. She cooks snail pie, since Frisk can’t have CB pie. They can still take a slice with them for later use, though.
I envisioned that Toriel has no real reason to stop MitU from leaving, they don’t have a SOUL, anyways, so their death would not mean anything in the long run.
In Snowdin, Frisk tries to play along with Papyrus’ sheninegans to sans’ request. And they succeed for the most part. Sans has seen enough anime to be aware of the fact MitU is a robot, but Papyrus still 100% thinks they’re a human.... Up until he figures it out by himself.
Waterfall goes generally the same, save for the fact that after Frisk falls from the bridge, they’re yet again knocked out cold, and Undyne comes to the dump to... pick them up and bring them to Alphys lab to repair them.
You see, Alphys, like her Undertale counterpart, looks over MitU ever since they step in Snowdin Forest. And she could tell that after the fall they took, they wouldn’t be able to get up. So she called up Undyne to explain the situation, and thus, saved Frisk from eventually being dragged away by the water.
When Frisk is returned back to life, Alphys explains that she rescued them herself, and that there is little to no time to waste. She has to return them to the surface! She also mentions that she modified MitU a bit to suit Hotland’s very unforgiving conditions, plus added a jetpack that comes out of their back.
MitU also gets to meet Mettaton himself, and they naively agree to do shows with him despite the risk that said shows entail.
And, honestly? Those were basically all the real changes that there are in the main run. Omega Flowey does flow differently due to Frisk lacking a SOUL, but the beats are the same. The Dates don’t vary that much, neither the amalgamates.
In the true pacifist Asriel fight, MitU is able to fully utilize their ACTing skills that they had gained all those years ago with their old family to calm Asriel down. However, in the end, they are destroyed by the final blast that Asriel shoots as his last attack.
And it is their death that reminds Asriel of the pain he had gone through when Chara passed away while trying to make their plan go through. So he’s quick to undo his wrongs, bring Frisk back, break the barrier, return the souls, and leave to never be seen again.
Frisk then gets to live with the monsters in the surface from then on. While their scientists do try to take the robot back, to check what they recorded Toriel’s deadly glare guarantees that Frisk shall clean their new home and have fun while doing so for a long while...
What changes in terms of mechanics? (no pun intended)
Frisk has a battery life, as explained earlier, so they need to recharge at several points in the story. It’s indicated via the heart in their chest, which may I add, is also their on/off switch. Their battery drains in turn of how much exploration you make. Note that MitU can and will run out of power in the overworld and in the midst of a fight if you’re not careful.
Tumblr media
The UI is different as well, this was basically a mock up I made a year ago, but it gets the idea across. Their HP is replaced with a damage meter, which the more it grows, the more glitches appear on the UI and on the screen. The battery should be obvious enough.
Tumblr media
And Frisk can also climb up some walls provided they’re colored properly, which can lead to some goodies, or allow them to solve puzzles.
And that would be all of the info I had made. What do you guys think? While I do love the concept of this AU, there was just no driving force to work on anything like a comic for me, plus, I currently work on my other AUs, so my time is already tight as is.
If anyone has any more questions they’d like answered, I’ll be sure to answer them.
As an addendum: I must ask that people do not RP Mitu!Frisk, steal the few art pieces done for this post, or steal this AU in any shape or form without permission.
If anyone desires to RP interactions with MitU, I RP them in the Omega Timeline server, along with other characters. It is a highly reccomendable server in my book for any UT fan that likes to RP.
I will also ask that people don’t make a AU wiki entry on this AU, as I may do that myself provided the time is right.

THA updates/character sheets
omg two posts in a day what is this shit
i just feel like i should give a heads up about THA and whats going on and shit. i wont be posting anything for it on A03 for a hooooot minute. like i said in the last post, i’ve been really dry when it comes to THA content. sorry if that bums you out or whatever, but i really need to take it easy with that book for a bit.
h o w e v e r
my brain just will not let me friggin rest. so, i decided to just do something that’s not really creative but also lets me feel some kind of relief. im gonna make character templates in the style of the BNHA fandom website (with a few exceptions/different thing). I wont make one for every single person, but ill make them for most of class 1-A and some villains.
there may also be a few introduced characters, so ig you'll get to meet them first!
the first one is my fave sparky queen, Emiko Kaminari!
(fair warning. its suuuuper long.)
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:
Name: Emiko Kaminari (Meaning: Emiko - blessing/kindness. Kaminari - thunder) Birthday: August 3rd Age: 15 Gender: Female (She/Her) Height: 4’11” or 149 cm Hair color: Blonde  Eye Color: Yellow Zodiac Sign: Leo Quirk: Technokinesis
STATUS:
Status: Alive Occupation: Student Affiliation: UA High School
OVERVIEW
Emiko Kaminari is a Class 1-A student at UA High School.
Appearance:
Emiko has bright yellow hair cut in a short bob (a bit like if you smoothed out Denki’s hair). She has distinct bangs that have two long side pieces and several short pieces across her forehead, Her eyes are yellow and flatter on top and rounder at the bottom with distinctly long and straight lashes. She has a tiny birthmark (just larger than a freckle) under her left eye. She inherited her mother’s ear shape, but she can’t use them like her mom can (they can’t extend/plug into anything).  She is incredibly short despite her relatively tall dad, and hopes to grow one day. She has a relatively small chest and thin waist, giving her a lanky but athletic body. Her legs are just slightly too long for her body, adding to her sinewy appearance.
She isn’t a fan of uniform at all, so she only wears it to classes. She alternates between wearing the pants and skirts. When she wears the pants, she wears them high waisted and tucked in. She also takes off her overcoat often (in both outfits), just carrying around and putting it on when she gets yelled at.
Her prototype hero costume pays homage to her dad and mom, but is mostly her own. She wears a black windbreaker jacket with deceptively deep pockets. This also doubles as a shock resistant sheet. Under this, she wears a black sports bra and tight-ish pants with like a MILLION pockets. She’s a slut for functional fashion! She wears black platform sneakers (think FILAs, but not brand name hfjwfkfbwb). They lace up a bit like hiking boots, but the hooks are removable devices.
Personality:
Emiko is super spunky! She’s cheerful and goofy, but not sugary sweet. She has some edge to her, but she’s a very talkative and open person. She’s absolutely obsessed with edgy memes/vines/ ANYTHING internet. She likes to make jokes often, which can sometimes get her into a bit of trouble. She’s very witty and has a sharp tongue, but that’s often just used for humor. She likes to make friends with as many people as possible, but she has no problem getting downright mean with people who mess with her. Her BIGGEST hate is being looked down on. If you underestimate her… look out. Generally, she’s a very friendly person though.
People often see Emiko for exactly what she is because she’s such an open book. Even quiet and broody people like to hang around and socialize with her. If anything, people see her as far more bubbly, since she doesn't like to bust out the mean Emiko.
ABILITIES:
Overall abilities:
She doesn’t have a designated fighting style, but she loves to dart and jump around. She’s able to move pretty fast and often jumps around her opponents to confuse them. She also has damn near perfect aim, so this can be used for striking different pressure points.
Since her quirk can’t really be deployed well without technology, she uses several support items to help her. With her Buttons, she can send massive shock waves of electricity wherever they land (including people). She can also communicate with people even if she’s the only one with a communications device.  She uses the electricity from her devices to immobilize her targets or generally just fuck them up. She can also manipulate electricity as long as its expelled from a device.
Emiko has SO many support items:
‘Buttons’ - basically tiny robots with no function. It’s basically just a button with an electric current. She can use them as a distraction or something of course. But Emiko can use her quirk to stick them to people or herself and deploy insane amounts of electricity. Combine that with her precise aim and you’ve got a stun gun that can target specific areas of the body AND control the output of electricity.
TeleCom - This device works kind of like an AirPod but it doesn’t need bluetooth. Its attached just under her ear. It allows her to use her quirk to send messages to her allied (or foes!)
FingerGuns - Just like her dad, Emiko is one funny motherfucker. With these gloves, she can expel the electricity from the devices in whichever direction she points her fingers.
Goggles - These high tech goggles and quickly give and receive information about her allies and opponents. She can use them if she doesn’t know anything about her team/enemy and gather info. Like GoogleGlass but WAY better.
Quirk:
Emiko’s quirk Technokinesis pretty much gives her the ability to do nearly anything with an electronic device. She can use it to hack whatever device it is, move things around, explode them, or simply use the interface hands free. She can control many devices at once (probably like up to 30 as of right now). As far as explosion goes, it's mostly just electric sparks with a little heat, but obviously there’s damage from any debris (especially if its come in contact with the sparks). Her quirk has a pretty severe drawback though. Emiko suffers drowsiness and decreased cognitive functions with extended regular use of her quirk (like Denki but like 10x less stupid). She also suffers from random severe seizures, but that doesn’t happen too often.
Super Moves:
ButtonBlast: Emiko throws a hand full of buttons in a random direction and sticks them to whatever they land on. She then sends them into a massive electrical explosion, ranging from 100 volts to 100,000 volts (will get stronger with training/time!). This is pretty much enough to fry the brain of any unlucky person to get tackled by one of these. It also blows out any device in range, leaving only the ones she controls in use.
BrainFry: Emiko throws a single button with pinpoint accuracy, landing it at her target’s weak points or exposed areas, even while they move. She delivers a quick but hearty shock, rendering her opponent immobile and unable to function.
TeleCom Confusion: Emiko uses her power of music and stupid puns and her quirk together. She confuses her opponents with rambling on and on about someone. She can also blast music directly into their ears and confuse them.
TechnoScream: Emiko + Madosha use their powers together. While Emiko has on noise canceling headphones, Screaming Shadow yells directly into her TeleCom. Emiko then sends this pitch directly into the heads of her opponents and lets it take effect.
STATS
Power: 4/5 Speed: 4/5 Technique: 3/5 Intelligence: 3/5 Cooperativeness: 4/5 Edgy Meme Knowledge: 6/6
Equipment:
Buttons: These bad boys are tiny, but they pack a punch! She has two sizes - one about the size of a dime and some smaller than that. They’re basically constantly short circuiting devices. Emiko can deploy these at any time, releasing high voltage bursts of electricity or explode them. They’re made of a high grade copper and aluminum alloy. They’re thick but hollow with a simple incomplete circuit on the inside.
TeleCom: ...literally just google how AirPods work, and take away the bad parts. Its essentially an AirPod, but it's a flat disk with a strong adhesive on one side.
FingerGuns: The same general workings as the Buttons, but they don't detach. They’re nestled in the fingers of her gloves and activated when she makes a finger gun symbol.
Battles/Events:
Lunchroom Attack
STUDENTS vs villains
Canon ‘Fun’ Facts:
She frequently bugs her friends phones and plants memes in their important documents.
She has pretty damn bad ADHD.
She once dropped her meds in front of Aizawa and asked if he wanted to ‘pop a dirty blue pillie.’ She had two days of detention for that one.
Definitely has a crush on someone in her class.
Her best friend is a class 1-B student named Hansuke Amaiko. She’s known him since they were basically babies

Ok forgive me bc this isn't even from your list but... technological quirks for Samuels? I was watching the good place and the AI character in that show gets "drunk" from proximity to strong magnets. Does he have any issues like that? Magnets, radio interference, etc. Can you dropbox into a synthetic's mind? Can he connect to bluetooth? All questions that plague me.
I HAVE SO MANY OF THESE. I ended up brain-blanking last night becuase it was A Day and also A Night but anyway.
Samuels, like the later marine models in canon, can connect wirelessly to various devices and networks; which means that if there’s a system for it, he can tap into it, and both wreak havoc or do helpful things like turn the lights on or off. This is basically bluetooth. Once he turned off Ripley’s music after the third time Mr. Roboto came up on ‘shuffle’ in an hour.
He’s automatically, partially due to the wireless ability and partially becuase of his heightened senses, knows if a person he’s talking to is a person or a synthetic.
There’s nothing that can make him drunk, short of overwhelming his systems. Not to be a complete romantic sap but Ripley does it to him sometimes, his sense of logic that sits at the forefront of his mind ebbs away enough for him to sound a bit silly, tipsy.
Becuase of the way that his vocal system is structured, he can’t cry, sing very well, and it takes him a LONG time to be able to mimic anything that sounded like human laughter. The weird noise and motion he made when he first tried out laughing sounded frankly horrifying, with Amanda collecting herself quickly to try and smile encouragingly “That wasn’t bad,” “That was horrible.” “Yeah keep working on it.”
With few exceptions, he can’t deny a direct order from his owner. When Ripley talked (threatened) WY into signing him over, she had him write her in as his owner, as much as she hated it. Better he has to listen to her to take the trash out than WY ordering him to get rid of a risk to the company and snapping her neck.
This is stolen directly  from the book The Mad Scientist’s Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke, but around the same time that Weyland Yutani started to make all models fully lifelike in appearance for purposes of sneaky and otherwise unsavory goals, a few graduate students thought it would be HILARIOUS to program the machines printing the soft tissues to include ‘blood’ vessels down south, among other abilities. And a lot of nerve sensors. After the shit he and Amanda went through the least they deserve is having the robot able to orgasm. Beyond that I don’t give a fuck. It’s fanfiction. It’s garbage fanfiction. Leave me be.
During the uses of this bit of coding, if one or both parties involved go too hard at it, his voice goes to static. He’s not damaged, but the first time that happened Ripley flipped out “ARE YOU OKAY?! CHRIS? CHRISTOPHER PLEASE–” “I’m….fine…sorry,” and he’s so ashamed of it at first, hating to show what he is so obviously in any situation, let alone when he’s with her, but she likes it. Once she finds out that he isn’t injured, that its just a quirk or a glitch, she gets very smug about it “I broke you :) “
Obviously he doesn’t get mental illness, but his mind processes their trauma by adapting security programs; he feels something like anxiety as his logic programs tell him that there could be something wrong, that there isn’t, but there could be, and that he needs to patrol their apartment. Rewriting this adaptation takes both personal effort and a lot of external reassurance from his new companion.
He has photo-perfect memory, almost like a film, of everything he’s experienced and can view or upload playback of it in video form. E v e r y t h i n g.
I have no idea how long a synthetic’s charge lasts for, so I wrote that once a month or every other month he tops off his power with a short recharge, to avoid having to spend multiple days unconscious recharging when he runs out entirely. A hidden port in his arm can connect to a wire for either phsyical computer connections or charging.
Androids have a power-save mode during which they’re only vaguely aware of external stimuli for the sake of self-preservation (and of their operators, that should they be called on they can wake themselves and come to the humans’ aid). Internal temperature drops slightly, and processors slow down, while software programs shut down entirely. It’s similar to what a human would think of as ‘relaxing.’ Samuels uses this most nights to go to bed with Ripley. He wakes up from this with zero drowsiness.
Or of course there is a full shutdown, which is much harder for a synthetic to get out of, much closer to actual human sleep than power-save. Normally he’ll program if for a few hours, but only if he’s genuinely in need of running updates or diagnostics, or at risk of overheating, as he doesn’t like ‘leaving’ her alone for that long. During this, he doesn’t have any sound or vibration or the vague feeling that could be compared to a pulse, and Ripley tries to pretend that his more-or-less-dead appearance doesn’t bother her, so he can still wake up in bed like normal.
Like any technology, a synthetic will eventually be out of date and incompatible with new updates. In theory his core processors and memory could be removed and replaced into a new body, and they’ve already done this once upon returning to Luna.
Synthetics AI is adaptive, and while Samuels was already one of the “mistakes,” models that have become sentient during development, he’s very very VERY obviously Not Human the more you talk to him. Five, ten, twenty years after he’s been living like one however, he’s nearly indistinguishable from a human being in his words and behavior.
Becuase he can tap into wi-fi, he cheats at trivia games. Ripley could have killed him for it, but now they’re the champions at her favorite bar’s trivia night, and have won a lot of free alcohol, so she doesn’t mind.
I’ll post more as I think of them, becuase for some reason I feel like I’m forgetting a few of the main ‘rules’ I wrote.

Title: Home for the Holidays (Reader x Peter Parker)
Summary: Natasha brings her niece home for the holidays, just in time for all of the drama.
Word Count: 1453
A/N: This is an early Christmas gift/first part of an ongoing christmas gift hopefully so I really hope you enjoy! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Also this was really quick to upload so it’s not edited thoroughly!
--
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to New York,” the airplane pilot’s warm voice welcomed all of you to your home state. Some people clapped as the plane slowed, excited to get off and see their families. You yanked your earbuds out and gathered your things, bouncing your foot impatiently.  All you had left to do was navigate the holiday crowds of the airport and grab your bags and you would be on your way to visit your aunt and her great group of friends in the city that never sleeps, your home away from home for the holidays.
With your backpack thrown over your shoulder, you braved the crowd. You couldn’t even hear soft bells ringing in the Christmas music over the bustling people trying to get to their destinations. A large, extravagantly decorated tree caught your eye as soon as you left the gate, and your aunt Natasha stood front and center with a glittery sign, your name written in large cursive, “Y/N!” she pulled her cell phone out and started recording as you ran to her, your arms open wide to envelope her into a hug, “Gosh you’ve grown up. You’re a teen now! That video was so cute, I’m sending it to everyone. I can’t believe you’re here!”
“I’ve missed you so much,” you said with a laugh as you looped your arm through hers. Natasha was always the cool aunt who slipped you cash whenever she was over and would have sleepovers of pizza and movies in your bedroom when she was supposed to be babysitting.
Natasha led the way to baggage claim where you grabbed your things and followed her to her car, “I have so much to tell you, Y/N. First off, Tony and Steve had a big blowout. Huge, dramatic fight. I guess you’ll find that out at the holiday party tonight,” she heaved a sigh as she lugged your suitcase behind her, “It’s freezing out here. Wait, where’s your coat? Here, I somehow knew you’d forget so I brought an extra,” Natasha tossed you a puffy coat that had a fluffy hood and stared at you until you threw it on with a groan.
You and Natasha talked the whole ride to the Avengers Facility about everything you had to catch up on since the last time you were in town, and the last time you were in New York City  was when you were seven. The fact that the last time you had seen everyone was when you still thought an octopus could come out of the bathtub drain was making you nervous; you hadn’t seen these people in nine years.
“Welcome to your home for the holidays!” Natasha parked the car and helped you grab your things from the back seat, your nerves bubbling up inside you. She led the way to the door and threw it open, doing dramatic jazz hands as she stepped aside to let you in.
You could hear the cheerful commotion as soon as you walked inside and dropped your bags by the door, “Y/N’s here! It’s baby Nat!” you could hear Steve from the kitchen and laughed at the nickname, Natasha throwing her arm over your shoulder as the common area filled with excited Avengers.
“You’re getting so old,” Clint ran over and hugged you, a hearty laugh escaping his lips. You rolled you eyes at him; Clint was basically an uncle to you, one with too many bad jokes to count.
“I could say the same for you,” you smirked over at him, which only made everyone laugh more. Clint merely rolled his eyes, but ended up smiling anyways.
You were put to work as soon as you were shown where you’d be sleeping. The Avengers Facility was big, too big for just Natasha and a new Avenger that had taken a keen liking to you, Wanda, to decorate for the party alone. You didn’t mind one bit, it gave you something to do to pass the time until Tony’s party. Yet you hadn’t even seen him yet, he wasn’t around when you arrived, “Y/N, go ahead and set up the Christmas village on the mantle, we can string lights around it,” Wanda pointed to the sleek and modern mantle above the fireplace where nothing but a creepy robot head with glowing blue eyes sat.
Jingle Bell Rock was playing through fancy bluetooth speakers in the kitchen and you were nodding off in your seat at the bar, watching Natasha and Steve make candy cane shaped sugar cookies for the party. It had been a long day already and it wasn’t even over.
“Boo!” A hand on your shoulder jolted you awake, pulling you out of the nap you had almost been graced with. Your eyes widened and you whipped around to see that it was only Tony, a wide smile on his face, “and you all thought I’d be late to my own party. Welcome back, Y/N,” he rubbed the top of your head obnoxiously, something he used to do to mess up your hair and make you laugh.
You swatted at his hand and got up, rubbing your eyes exhaustedly, “Hi,” you said, trudging over to the counter to pour yourself a cup of coffee. Natasha and Tony eyes you carefully, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “What, am I not allowed to drink coffee?”
“I didn’t know they started them so young,” Tony said with a look of shock and bemusement, “On, Y/N. You’re a teen right?” Natasha rolled her eyes and laughed quietly to herself as you nodded, taking a bite out of one of  the candy cane shaped cookies, “Great! Mr. Parker is a teen, too. Peter, meet Y/N,” with that, Tony grabbed a tray of sugar cookies and ran off to the party already filling with people.
You looked over at Natasha wearily for help, but she merely shrugged. Her and Wanda shared a glance, an all knowing look that left them both giggling quietly to themselves. You huffed and leaned against the counter while the fellow teenager sauntered over, his hands jammed into his pockets, “How long has it been since you’ve been here?” he asked you with a nervous smile.
“Ten hours and twenty six minutes,” you said in a whisper, causing him to laugh. Your aunt glanced over her shoulder at you and wiggles her eyebrows tantalizingly, making your cheeks turn pink. You sent her a glare, “But who’s counting?”
“I’m Peter, by the way. If you, uh, didn’t know,” the boy named Peter crossed his arms over his chest, almost too nervous to look at you directly in the eye, “Are you glad to be back?”
You merely shrugged, snagging another cookie off of the serving platter. Wanda had to swat your hand away and shoo the two of you out of the kitchen and into the party of usually sophisticated adults loosening up with beers and gingerbread, “I knew that. Tony introduced us, remember? Glad to be back? For the most part. It was home for a long time, after all. ” you said with a shrug, finding yourself beginning to spill too much of your family life with a boy you’d just met, “But anyways… who are you? Like, what do you do?” “What do I do? I go to school,” he gave a nervous laugh, yanking at the collar of his holiday sweater while you gave him an all-knowing look. You knew that everyone that was apart of the Avengers had something, “I mean, I’m an intern for Mr. Stark.” A huff escaped your lips as you reached for the hanging snowflake ornament on the tree. It was one that you had made, it even had your name and the year you made it on the back, all worn from love, “I mean, what do you do? You can tell me, you know. I know there’s something,” you smiled at him, cocking your head to the side. He was quite cute, cuter than anyone back at home. You’d never had a boyfriend, only a quick kiss from a boy that you later found out was a dare.
“Okay, fine. I’m Spider-Man,” your eyes lit up and you opened your mouth to say something as he shushed you. Spider-Man was your personal favorite to keep up with on Twitter and YouTube. He was always saving someone on the streets of New York, “Quiet!”
“Can you, like, shoot webs and everything? Wow, I can’t believe aunt Nat didn’t tell me,” you shook your head at him, a wide smile on your face. Your cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling so much that day, “Okay, now I’m definitely glad to be back.”

To Pidge
based on the small langst fic I wrote recently
you’ll have to read it to understand the purpose of this one. it’s called At Peace. you can read it here
...
...
...
“Mmaaaattttt,” Pidge groans in her seat. Her and Matt had been telling each other stories about the adventures during their time apart, until they came across an asteroid field they couldn’t get around. You see, although they’d rescued Matt months ago, they had such little time to reconnect and actually talk.
The ex-green paladin let Matt concentrate though and in turn gave in to her heavy eyelids. She had been so excited to get back to Earth she couldn’t sleep the night before.
But now Matt had successfully gotten through the field, and Pidge was wide awake. “Kaaaatiiiiie,” her brother replies in a teasing tone.
Pidge wrinkles her nose in disdain at that.
Matt chuckles at her reaction. “Would you prefer I call you Pidge?”
The small blond nods enthusiastically at the suggestion, “Just for a little bit if you’re not comfortable with it.”
The older sibling clicks his tongue at his sister’s unsure behaviour. “Pidge, don’t worry about that, I’ll call you chicken wing if you ask me to. It’s all up to you. But don’t forget you’re a Holt.”
“Of course, bro. Gunderson sounds ridiculous anyway-”
“You have a message,” spoke Pidge’s watch. A second later, Matt’s watch let out the same robotic tone.
The two siblings look at each other before looking back to their watches, Matt putting the pod on auto-pilot first, of course.
“It’s a video from Lance,” Pidge notes. Matt nods his head in agreement.
Suddenly, both teens gasp upon noticing a small detail in the file’s thumbnail. The older teen speaks up first, “Is he... crying?”
This looks serious, Pidge thinks to herself. “Let’s use headphones just in case we have different videos.”
Matt nods and hands his sister a pair; two sets were placed in his lap as soon as he saw the tears in the ex-blue paladins eyes. Pidge pulls up a holographic screen from her watch, in the corner of her eye, she sees her brother do the same. She takes a deep breath as she connects the Bluetooth of the headphones to her watch.
As soon as it’s finished loading, Pidge hits play. The screen is black at first. A few seconds later, Lance’s face comes into view.
He looks like death. Tears stain his cheeks in a steady stream, the bags under his eyes were deeper than ever, and his cheekbones were poking out more than usual. Immediately, Pidge’s sibling instinct kicks in, as her and Lance were the closest on the team, next to Hunk of course. I knew you weren’t okay, and I tried to help.... but you weren’t this bad. Lance, what happened to you?
“Hey, Pidge. O-Or Katie? I’m not sure what you prefer after you’ve reunited with you brother,” Lance chuckles sadly in a shaky voice.
Pidge’s face is already wet with tears. How could I let you fall into this state?
“Either way, I want to say thank you. Next to Hunk, you were the biggest support system to me. You were there when I needed you,” the Cuban takes a deep, trembling breath. “And I don’t want to die with you thinking it was your fault, or that you could have done something to help. Oh, that sounded worse. Just. This isn’t your fault Pidge.”
What isn’t my fault? But Pidge doesn’t fool herself. She knows exactly what Lance is talking about. Sobs racking her body, she reaches out to her brother, who simply lets her fall onto her chest and hugs her tight.
Lance scratches at the back of his neck. “Agh, this already sounds bad. Pidgeon, I’m going to be honest with you. You’re the first video. You’re the first person I made a video for. And I’m sorry to say, I’m not sure why. But I know you’re important to me. And I wouldn’t want you to think otherwise.” More tears fall down his face and a sob escapes his mouth, but he’s able to keep himself contained. “Pidge, in case you haven’t figured it out already, which I doubt, because you’re an extremely smart young lady. I’m going to kill myself.”
A sob takes over Pidge’s entire body as she finds herself pausing the video. For a few minutes, she lays curled up in her brother’s lap sobbing loudly and ugly, her entire body twitching with each breath. Her brother continues watching his own video, quiet tears falling down his cheeks, his mouth left agape.
After fifteen minutes of crying to herself and sinking in the fact, Pidge decides she’s not ready to continue watching -and she never will be- but she knows she needs to finish the video.
The blond girl wipes her eyes and replaces her glasses on her nose. With a small sniffle, Pidge presses play.
“Now, don’t freak out,” it’s a little too late, “I’m not doing this over any event in particular. And don’t bother trying to stop me, by the time you’re watching this it’ll be too late. I’m just. I’m tired, Pidge. I’m tired of lying. To you, your brother, Allura, Keith. Myself. Truth is, Pidge, you know that picture you saw of my family?”
“Yes,” the vulnerable girl answers even though she knows he doesn’t hear her.
“Well, it’s a fake. I don’t really have a family to come back home to. You guys were the closest thing I had to a family, the paladins of Voltron, Allura, Coran, you were my family.” Lance sobs again, this time a bit longer. “I have no one else, no one to go to, and you guys were all heading somewhere, with some place to be. Remember when I said I was going to confess to Keith? Tell him I love him? Start a family with him? That was my last resort, Pidge. No, it wasn’t Keith’s fault, there’s nothing wrong with him finding someone who loves him. I know it’s cowardly, and I’m sure if it was anyone else, they would have held on to hope and find someone who would love them. But I’m not someone else. I’m not strong and I’m me. I’m Lance. Nobody needs me. I can’t hinder someone like that.
“I love you, Pidge, all of you, but I can’t stand living like this anymore. I can’t stand being by myself, looking for purpose, looking for a reason. A reason to stay. I’m sorry I couldn’t hold on longer. Don’t feel guilty, Pidgeon. In fact, you can feel happy, happy that I’m gone, and at peace. Peace with my decision, and peace within the heavens. I’m not holding anyone back anymore. I’m free. So don’t feel sad, Pidge. In fact, my funeral should be festive. Play some Beyonce at that shit, get all the single ladies on stage,” he chuckles sadly. “All laughs aside, I’m glad you were my friend, Pidgeon. I’m glad you were there for me, and I’m happy that you let me be there for you, too.I’ll miss you, Pidge, and I hope you’ll miss me too.” Lance gives a small wave before reaching forward and the video stops.
And time along with it. The pod is silent. Matt’s video was apparently shorter, because he was already staring into space, his grip on Pidge strong and weak at the same time.
“Is he really gone?” the shrunken girl asks in a small, raspy voice. Tears continued to pour from her eyes like rivers, each dropping falling bringing her closer to the cold realization.
She felt her brother nod softly and press a kiss to her forehead. They cried there, together, for hours. Each trying to put on a brave face, be the strong sibling.
Each failing.

...
Well, that was absolute shit.
I wish I could supply you with a better version, but this is basically the best I can do. Hopefully the other videos will be better.
Thanks for reading guys.

Horizon Zero Dawn: Open World Gaming 101
Video Review - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj7TOqwA7Uo My PS4 doesn’t get much attention these days, or rather, it doesn’t get the attention it probably thinks it should. I use it every day for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube and such, but on the gaming side of things…well, lets just say that I had to take out The Last Guardian disc before putting Horizon Zero Dawn in, and I haven’t played that since I completed it on it’s launch weekend. See, I used to split my games pretty evenly between PC and Playstation. But this generation has pushed my away from console gaming, to the point where the only playstation games I’ll play are exclusives. Luckily, as it happens, I reckon playstation has a pretty good track record of exclusive games, and I’m happy to report that this game carries on that good reputation. I’ve noticed that Playstation’s 1st Party developers have a bit of a habit of establishing themselves with one franchise before starting a brand new IP in a completely different genre and defying all expectations to create yet another game series for people to get excited about. Naughty Dog started with Crash Bandicoot before blowing tiny minds with Uncharted, with some Jak and Daxter in between, Sucker Punch established themselves with Sly Cooper before making possibly the best original superhero game with Infamous, but lets just ignore Second Son for this example, and Insomniac gave Ratchet and Clank to the world, before scorching said world with an invasion of Chimera for the Resistance series. And now we come to Guerrilla games, who are best known around the globe for 2 things. One is the Killzone FPS series, and the other is for showing off pre-rendered footage and claiming it was captured during gameplay. What is now known as Gearboxing after that colonial marines…incident. So it was a bit of a surprise to see them announce a game where you play as a young tribal woman who is a bit of a dab hand at killing robot dinosaurs with spears and slingshots. Set around 1000 into earths future, some sort of apocalyptic event has occurred, everyone has got over their whole chaotic and rather disorganised “fallout” phase, and human civilisation has basically started from scratch. So it’s not so much as a post apocalyptic world as it is a post-post apocalyptic world. The apocalypse has happened, but everyones gotten over it and started settling down and getting on with things. The tribal lass you play as is called Aloy, which is one of the least subtle character names I’ve heard in a while, who is deemed an outcast from her tribe by the matriarchs because she doesn’t have a mother. As Aloy grows up, she decides to set out to discover who her mother is and what happened to her. This quest ends up taking her to every corner of this impressively large, but never empty or boring, open world. From snow covered mountains, to sandblasted deserts, from lush woodlands to thick jungles, there’s more than enough environmental diversity here to stop any one biome overstaying it’s welcome. Dotted around this wide expansive playground are the haunting and slightly epic looking ruins from the Metal World, remnants of the long lost civilisation from before the event that reverted humanity back to the stone age. You’ll also find resources to collect, wood for arrows, plants for healing items or elemental damage ammunition, or even just materials to increase your inventory storage space. And there are also some animals to hunt, like boars, rabbits and turkeys, all of which works in to a crafting system very much in line with Far Cry Primal. Oh, and there are great big giant robot crocodiles, dragons and dinosaurs kicking around the place too. And yes, a bow and arrow is actually surprisingly effective at taking them down. During her childhood, Aloy found herself in an ancient ruin, where she found a bluetooth headset thing, or what she calls a Focus. This allows her to scan the environment, letting you see through walls and terrain, tag enemies, and highlight weak points on the angry robot types. This plays in to what I feel is the central mechanic to this game, hiding in the long grass, scanning enemy weakpoints, throwing a plan together and charging out with murderous intent. You see, certain parts of a robot have different weaknesses that you have to exploit. For instance, their body may be extremely susceptible to ice damage, but that’s protected by armour that is weak to your hollow point arrows. Other robots have antennae that will let it call for help if you don’t disable them first, and other, more angry robots have mounted guns that you can blast off, before picking up for yourself and enacting sweet, ironic revenge. And you’ve got more than just elemental arrows at your disposal to take them down, you also have trip wire traps, proximity mines, bombs you fire from slingshots, some sort of fully automatic arrow rifle thing, and my tactical fallback option, a rope dart that will pin enemies to the ground, leaving them open for a critical hit, or to keep them out of a mass brawl for a minute or so. You also have a long bit of wood with a blade attached to the end, which you can eventually use to hack, or override, enemy robots with. Initially you can only override smaller machines, but you can eventually unlock the ability to take control of the bigger ones, some of which you can even ride around on as mounts. And let’s face it, being able to ride into battle atop a robot bull, firing explosive arrows at a robot crocodile is everyones idea of pretty cool. You also have to deal with other smaller, fleshier creatures that use similar weapons to yourself. These are called Humans, and fighting them will almost always boil down to tagging everyone and staying hidden, trying to take them all out quietly with stealth kills and long range headshots, before you’re spotted and it turns into a great big royal rumble. Fighting against humans isn’t nearly as fun as fighting robots, the melee attacks don’t pack any real punch, and your attacks don’t knock enemies about or interrupt their actions. In fact anything other than a headshot with an arrow wont even make them flinch. But they do offer a bit of a change of pace, and most of these encounters can be skipped entirely, with only a small handful of them being part of the main story missions. I wont go into the story too much so as to avoid any spoilers, but I will say that the story didn’t take the route I was expecting it to, and that it could have very easily taken if Guerrilla were feeling lazy. Because Aloy was an outcast for her whole life up to this point, are exploring and discovering the world and its people along with her. You know as much about the world as she does. The tribe you first interact with are stereotypical Nordic types in appearance, but later you meet different civilisations, each with their own histories, societies and religions, and each looking drastically different from the others, in terms of how they dress and the architecture of their settlements. Talking to various people through dialogue wheels lets you dig in to the lore of the world as deeply or as little as you please, and audio tapes and text documents from the old world serve to help you piece together what happened to humanity between then and now. You also get a whole heap of side quests and activities, from hunting challenges to clearing out corrupted zones, to batman esque detective missions where you scan areas for clues and follow trials. There are even hidden power cells to find that unlock powerful endgame armour, much like in Assassins Creed 2. There’s also dungeons that, upon completion, allow you to override new robots, and the Tallnecks that reveal more of the world map, again, kind of like Assassins Creed, or any other Ubisoft open world, for that matter. There are bonfire’s dotted around the world that act as both save points and fast travel locations. Initially, fast travel is dependant on a consumable item called fast travel packs, which you can get as quest rewards or from several merchants. I’m not such a big fan of this, as it limits exploration, and when you need to hunt specific robots for specific parts to buy a new weapon from an overly picky merchant, not being able to warp around the place is a pain in the arse. Oddly though, around 8 or 9 hours into the game, I found a merchant who sold an item that allows unlimited fast travel, and is cheap enough that I didn’t have to put off buying anything else I was saving up for, which begs the question, why put a limit on it in the first place if you’re going to unlock it completely anyway? Then again, some of the load times can be so long I wonder whether it would actually be quicker to walk some distances. Some of the dialogue scenes are reminiscent of Mass Effect, with the characters awkwardly stood in place, fixed on each others eyes, and often you’ll notice a jump in camera position, facial expression and tone of voice between lines, probably because due to you having multiple choices, and the game is slotting together conversations in an order that they weren’t recorded or animated in. This hardly RUINS the game, or even the scene it occurs in, it just seems like a bit of a glaring smudge that only really stands out because the rest of the product is so highly polished. The voice acting is pretty damn good for the most part, too, with only the odd one or two deliveries feeling like they were rushing because it was lunch time. As well as the floaty melee combat I mentioned earlier, the terrain clambering mechanics can also feel a bit, well, floaty. You’ll soon start to spot tell tail signs that the terrain is climbable, either by white rock edges or yellow metal beams and handholds. These work well enough, but some places that require climbing don’t have these, so I ended up just jumping up bits of rock like I was trying to scale a particularly steep mountain in Skyrim. I mean I eventually made it to where the game leading me, but if that was the way the developers intended for me to go, they could have done a better job of signposting it. As it is, I feel like I just exploited the collision detection of the terrain and essentially exploited my way over an obstacle. But, the number of times that that sort of thing occurred is negligible compared to the 25 or so hours I’ve spent with this amazing game so far, and I haven’t really finished it yet, I’ve just done the main quest line with a couple of the optional exploration bits here and there, so there’s plenty left to do here yet. This game is sort of like a compilation album of open world gameplay mechanics, showing off the best mechanics of the genre by presenting you with some of the best examples of their execution. You can see the inspiration taken from games like Skyrim, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Batman and Mass Effect, squeezes it all into this huge, unique world, and ends up with a game that can be held high and used as an example of open world gaming done right. I played this game on a standard PS4, so I don’t know how much better this would look or play on a PS4 Pro, but even as it is, this game is absolutely gorgeous. As seems to be the trend with PS4 exclusives these days, there is a photo mode included, which allows you to mess about with camera positioning, different filters, and even change the time of day to get just the right shot. I know the PC elitists will say this game looks crap, or that it would look much better at 120fps on at 4K, and yeah, it would, of course it would. Everything would. But even as it is, I was regularly finding myself stopping and just taking in the environment I was surrounded by. When you find just the right spot, with just the right light and weather effects, this game can be ACHINGLY beautiful, so I imagine that playing it on the PS4 Pro may result in you needing to change your underwear occasionally. I also discovered an option to set the HUD to Dynamic, which means the screen is a lot less cluttered while you’re exploring, but it will all pop up again once you get in a scrap. I highly recommend this option, as the game is too beautiful to be hidden behind a quick select bar and health meters, and I’m annoyed at myself for having played the game for about 6 hours until I found that option. What I’m getting at here is that if you have a PS4, you should go and get this game immediately. This is the game you need in your life right now. I was planning on splitting my time this past week between this and Dark Souls 3, which I still haven’t managed to complete, but Horizon Zero Dawn ended up stealing every minute of my free time. I really can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t enjoy this game, but then again there are people out there who thought Red Dead Redemption was crap, so what do I know, there are weirdos out there. And for those of you without a PS4, well, don’t buy one for this. No game is worth buying a whole new console for (and that includes breath of the wild). It really is a shame that more people can’t play this game. We can only hope that one day the console manufacturers evolve some sort of empathy and scrap the whole business practice of console exclusive games. But until that day, I dunno, maybe ask to borrow your friends console for a while?
