Deborah Yates, Boyd Gaines, Jason Antoon and Company perform "Simply Irresistible" at the 2000 Tony Awards.
 - Spectacular choreography by Susan Stroman
 - Phenomenal dancing by an extraordinary company
 - Rockin’ song by Robert Palmer
This extraordinary dance number from the Broadway musical Contact illuminates definitively why it won the 2000 Tony Award for Best Musical.
Contact was praised for its vibrant and expressive storytelling through dance, which undoubtedly played a significant role in its Tony win. It’s a testament to the power of dance as a form of narrative and emotional expression in the theater.

Quote
The hostile attitudes that Boyd faced were widely shared prior to the Civil War. White artisans might work shoulder to shoulder with African Americans on a construction scaffold while remaining intensely racist, and they were perfectly willing to engage in repressive politics when they felt their own livelihoods threatened. In 1851, for example, a group of North Carolina mechanics petitoned their state assembly, requesting that taxation be used to curb Black participation in the building trades: "Free negroes are with us a degraded class of men, living in a condition but little better than that of brute creation... They idle away their time and only labour when more dishonest means fail them and hunger oppresses them, and then, at prices regulated entirely by the circumstance." This complaint did have one grain of truth in it: African Americans really did exert downward pressure on wages. But that was simply because employers could get away with paying them less.

summary: the boys never expected that their shy noona could be such a daredevil
Thank you so much for this request!!! Sorry it's taken me long but I hope you enjoy it!
As always, like, reblog if you enjoyed, and my asks are open for any requests you may have. And let me know if you'd like to be tagged when I post :)
MAIN MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Stray Kids had spent all day filming the music video for Cheese, and you were wondering how the boys would react to you filming your solo parts this evening. You see, they didn't know about your other talents that laid outside of working in the music industry. As soon as you could, you had gained your license to be able to ride a motorcycle, inspired by your mum and dad who could also ride them - it was how they met.
With your normal shy and quiet personality, the boys affectionately looked after you, you could say. Even though you were the same age as Minho. This could have been what prompted and inspired the staff to get the 98 liners to film with the motorbike. Minho was up first, looking cool as usual.
"Let's go Minho hyung!" Jisung cheered from the sidelines, as you all watched him pose and mouth his lyrics in the car park like scene.
"Wahhh, hyung looks so cool," Jeongin nodded and clapped a bit, as Minho broke out into a shy smile after finishing, a real contrast.
"Wait, so noona is going up next?" Felix asked curiously.
"Yeah, they wanted me and Minho to film similar scenes," you smiled, scratching the back of you neck bashfully.
A staff member came over with a helmet for you.
"Aw noona is going to be wearing a helmet?" Changbin patted your head with the helmet now on.
"It's too big for her," Hyunjin laughed, as you cutely shook your head with the helmet bobbing around. Because of this the staff gave you the helmet you normally wear, which the boyd assumed was customised by the stylists rather than you, who had painted cute flower stickers on it.
"Why is it so cute?" Seungmin laughed, looking down at you, as you smiled shyly and headed over to the motorbike.
The staff directed you to pretend you were riding it, knowing fully well that you could. You had to let the company know that you had gotten a license. But it never really came up into conversation with the boys, and you weren't really one to talk about yourself, maybe that was another similarity you shared with Minho.
The camera followed you as you revved up the engine and started driving down the car park, the boys letting out yells and gasps of worry. You let out a cheer as you did so, which the others assumed was more of a cry for help.
"Y/Nnie noona!"
"Y/N!!"
"Someone help her stop!"
"Ah no no no!!!"
Yet you successfully stopped it and swerved with a smirk on your face as you pulled up the visor of your helmet, the staff clapping for you as you did so.
It still hadn't really sunk in to the boys that you in fact knew what you were doing. And so, they ran up to you.
"Y/Nnie, are you ok? Are you hurt?" Chan wrapped an arm around her shoulder, helping her take the helmet off and expecting to see you crying, when in fact you were laughing.
"Why are you laughing? You could have died!" Minho reprimanded, eyes glaring into your soul.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," you stopped laughing and waved off their concerns.
"How? You just... you-" Jisung malfunctioned, shocked at the sight of what you just did.
"Guys, I'm fine, I have a license for this," you shrugged it off casually, not wanting all their attention on you. But they wouldn't let you off so easily.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Hyunjin said with wide eyes, hand over his heart.
"Didn't really think there was a time to say it..." you trailed off sheepishly.
"How about when you got your license? Or when Minho was filming?" Seungmin pointed out.
"Oh yeah..." you blushed, habitually scratching the back of your neck.
"How can you act so shy after being so cool?" Felix giggled, looking at your slightly hunched figure sat on the motorbike.
"Super shu, super shy!" Changbin burst out into dong, making everyone else laugh at him, Jisung whacking his shoulder.
"Noona you have to teach me!" Jeongin joyfully said, everyone immediately going 'no!'.
"Well I could-" you began to say.
"No! Don't corrupt our maknae!" Jisung playfully restrained Jeongin, dragging him slightly away from you.
"Hey, I'd be a good teacher!" you pout, folding your arms as you took off your helmet.
"I don't doubt that, Y/Nnie," Chan affectionately patted your head, smoothing out your hair that had become ruffled.
"I can't believe our noona can ride a motorbike!" Hyunjin shook his head, still not believing it.
"Nobody would believe it if we told them!" Seungmin agreed.
"I can't believe you showed me up like that. I just sat on the motorbike and you rode it!" Minho facepalmed, feeling shy.
"You looked pretty whilst doing it though," you quietly complimented him.
"Aw our noona is so sweet," Felix teased, smiling at you.
"Is Y/Nnie flirting with me?" Minho smirked.
"No no no," you waved them off shoving the helmet back on your head and hiding your face, folding your arms.
"Oh no! She's disappeared!" Changbin shouted, nearly making you fall off of the bike from the shock of him suddenly yelling.
"Hahaha, Binnie you nearly knocked out Y/Nnie noona!" Chan laughed as he caught you.
"Ok I'm taking my helmet off again," you signed, taking it off and holding a hand over your heart, much like Hyunjin was earlier.
"This really is the most unexpected thing, I still can't comprehend it," Jeongin shook his head.
"Stays are gonna be shocked too, aren't they?" you wonder.
"They won't be expecting it all, I mean we all didn't..." Jisung nodded.
After that day if filming the boys became suspicious of you, jokingly of course, asking you questions thinking you lived a secret double life, but once you explained about how your parents had licenses too, it all made sense to them, and they felt like it should have been obvious from the start, that such a shy girl was secretly a daredevil.

Unlike Jo, Amy embraces her budding womanhood, which she feels empowers rather than diminishes her. At sixteen, she has the air and bearing of a full-grown woman” and has “learned to use the gift of fascination with which she was endowed.” Although not a natural beauty like Meg, the blonde, blue-eyed Amy easily succeeds at making herself into a fashionable work of art, gaining first the attention of Laurie's college friends, then Fred Vaughn, and finally Laurie himself. It is not only with men that she succeeds, however. She wins over her fellow art school students, the mean girls at the fair, and then her aunts, one of whom takes her to Europe. Once abroad, Amy blossoms further. “Always mature for her age,” she now becomes “more of a woman of the world.” She enjoys her power over men (including Laurie) and tears around Nice in her own carriage, taking the reins herself and yelling out to Laurie in the street, her “free manners” scandalizing a French mother who hurries her young daughter in the opposite direction. Amy was the daring American girl abroad ten years before the publication of Henry James's Daisy Miller. In the end, of course, Amy wins Laurie and decides that she won't be an artist after all (because she possesses talent but not genius, something Laurie also discovers about his music). Readers often forget that Amy wants to become a famous artist because she gives it up so easily. She will become instead, as the wealthy Laurie's wife, “an ornament to society.” To many readers, Amy has seemed to be the clear winner among the four March sisters. In her New York Times essay “Amy Had Golden Curls; Jo Had a Rat. Who Would You Rather Be?” film and book critic Caryn James wrote that favoring Amy over the other girls was a "no-brainer." Pretty Amy went to Europe, had adventures, and married the dashing boy next door, while Jo lived in a dumpy boardinghouse in New York and married a boring professor. - Anne Boyd Rioux, Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy: The Story of Little Women and Why It Still Matters

I think Alex wanted to be a very loyal friend to John. He wanted John's attention. There were enough men that wanted his attention at that time. It wasn't physical, it was mental. They were almost desperate, the heterosexual ones.

DuckTales THEORY: Team Who?
Tumblr media
Hello Duckblr! We know that in DuckTales 2017, Huey, Dewey and Webby have their own definite cliques, but what if this idea were to extend to each of the six Duck children in hypothetical future seasons?
TLDR: If DuckTales kept going on, we would have seen more Louie/Doofus/Goldie episodes. May's interrogative side can blend her in with the Rescue Rangers.
Team Science (Huey)
Huey's group of allies usually revolves around working on scientific breakthroughs and his hero, Gizmoduck. Huey stories would usually involve these specific characters:
Gyro Gearloose
Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera (Gizmoduck)
Manny
BOYD
Gandra Dee
Huey's enemy is usually Mark Beaks, a businessman who makes his living off dumb and/or stolen ideas, which is totally against his moral code. If executed better, Dr. Akita could make a better contender.
Team Action (Dewey)
Dewey's group of allies usually revolves around getting into dangerous situations, definitely not due to the influence of Launchpad or his very own mother, Della. Dewey stories would usually involve these specific protagonists:
Launchpad McQuack
Della Duck
Drake Mallard (DW)
Gosalyn Waddlemeyer (an extension of DW)
Kit and Molly
Dewey's enemy is usually Don Karnage, a deranged air pilot who will go to any lengths to gain vengeance on him. Falcon Graves has also appeared in Dewey stories, a serious contender for his showboating.
Team Scheme (Louie)
Despite being shown to be a charmer in the show, Louie falls flat when it comes to making secure friends, especially when it's in his nature that he is the 'evil triplet' of the Duck boys. However, the cunning antihero, Goldie O'Gilt is quite fond of him. Louie stories would definitely involve these specific characters:
Goldie O'Gilt
Doofus Drake
Ottoman Brothers (placeholder because they're always in the background of Louie stories)
Although Louie completely destroyed Glomgold in S2, I'd love to see Rockerduck as his enemy, as the Wild West Swindler has a more interesting way to battle - with his words, instead of his fists.
Team Magic (Webby/April)
Webby's group of allies usually revolves around trying to fix the curses laid out from Scrooge's adventures, or his most powerful enemy, Magica De Spell. Webby stories would usually involve these specific characters:
Lena Sabrewing
Violet Sabrewing
Blackarts Beagle (redemption arc??)
Phantom Blot and Pepper (maybe they're forced to team-up??)
Morgana (placeholder because they don't have a grown-up hero)
Webby and Lena's enemy is usually Magica De Spell, a witch who wants to use her powers to abuse and take advantage of others, completely opposite to how Webby wants to play.
Team Mystery (May)
Despite the wishes of her current guardian, Donald Duck, I could see May get into contact with her ilk, also experimented on by FOWL - no other than the Rescue Rangers themselves!
Chip and Dale
Gadget Hackwrench
Monterey Jack
Zipper
...and maybe Detective Gokart from the comics (a loser that May could help to become a better person)
Perhaps the Rescue Rangers have found a larger FOWL experiment gone rogue and they need a heroine around their size to help bring the experiment to justice.
Team ??? (June)
Team Sports? Team Wellbeing? Team Theatre? Team Adorable? It seems that poor June is the only one I can't think of for a team.
By process of elimination, the only frequent group of protagonists without a child character to support them are the gods/goddesses of Ithaquack.
Bum Bum Ghigno, an everyday person from the comics might help her appreciate the normal and might draw parallels between the clone twins and his relationship with his brother.
I'd love to put the Idle Hour Club from Donald's first ever cartoon somewhere, but those stories wouldn't be fun.

Round 2, Match 45: Lance Strongbow vs. Derek Hale
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted kids:
Lance Strongbow: Angry (Kiera) and Red (Catalina)
Derek Hale: Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, Vernon Boyd, Jackson Whittemore, Cora Hale, he tries to get Scott McCall on board but Scott never wanted in
Propaganda under the cut!
Lance Strongbow:
1. “Lance met the girls when they were forced to steal to survive, and helped mentor and encourage them to pursue alternative options. He also gave himself up to the Baron’s men (along with Eugene) so that the girls would escape. Whenever the girls show up in the series sporadically he consistently acts like a dad, making jokes and later brings the girls some paintings to spruce up their home. They come with him on different adventures. He is also incredibly dad-like when he insists on trusting his “instincts” when they keep getting lost in the tower where they’re supposed to rescue Varian and insists that they are “almost there!” At the end of the series he adopts them and they change their last names to his.”
2. “Okay to be fair it's only these two that Lance adopts but you did say it only had to be *at least* two and their story is so sweet.
Basically Lance is Eugene's (Flynn Rider) best friend from his childhood/teen years, and they were thieves together. When Lance shows up in the show for the first time, he's still a thief, but over the course of the show, Rapunzel and Eugene turn him into an upright citizen.
Angry and Red, much like Lance and Eugene, are orphans who came to the conclusion that they might be better off as thieves. The two girls were revered in the kingdom as The Silent Strikers, and Eugene and Lance are tasked by King Frederic to reform the young girls. Of course gaining their trust and actually helping the girls become good people is a long process, but eventually the girls do turn out for the better, and Lance, a reformed thief himself, decides to adopt the girls at the end of the series.”
Derek Hale
“derek is the worst. this is not a healthy family dynamic. his family died and he's trying to create something just like it to give him that sense of security and he's so into the stupid alpha male posturing that everyone leaves him and then once he makes peace with that he just becomes the random adult hanging out with a bunch of high schoolers. he's literally such a loser and I kind of love that no one sees it just because he has cheekbones and a leather jacket. to be clear this isn't hate this is just his character arc”

🔥 Louie Duck's character arch?
Send Me a 🔥+ a Topic, and I’ll Tell You My Honest Opinion About It
Tumblr media
It coulda been so much better. It was shaky at best a lot of the time.
We've all heard me yell about the grounding. How it was badly enforced, how the circumstances were fucky, etc. You can look back on the ducktales analysis tag and hear me caterwaul, so I'll avoid that part of the topic.
The point of Louie's arc is that he's supposed to learn that family is more important than money. But Louie?? Fucking knew that??? One of his core, key season 1 lines is "You kept a secret about mom. That is not okay." He sobs when his brothers fight. He got Gavin out of his house for free, and did it in a way that kept Huey and Dewey happy. Louie cares about his family. He's never once put money before his family. He usually puts them side by side, before giving up the gold to get away.
They give no reason for Louie's greediness and that makes it feel more difficult to work around. Is it a casual, playful want bc he likes toys? Is it a deep, consuming need because he grew up in a household that didn't always have the lights on and food was hotdogs thrice a week? It's never stated. We can't be sure of how deep the problem lies and where the boundaries should start. He's just supposed to know it's Bad and Give it Up and Move On. Louie's ten. Ten year olds don't want monetary safety for no reason. The kid needs therapy, and comfort, and to be weaned off that stuff. Going cold turkey is a great way to give him anxiety.
And move on to what, exactly? No one tries to give him any outlets to work on. He doesn't like adventures like the rest of his family. Dewey gets Launchpad and flying and Huey gets Boyd and helping Gizmoduck. Louie gets Goldie and Louie Inc, which is then closed. He gets Goldie, but Goldie is transient and isn't around often. His only friend is literally an old lady who steals from him. His only time working is Louie Inc, which is taken from him.
The closest thing to working outside a con he's allowed is when he calls Della out. So... what? His job is to keep his family honest? Why not give him a job, a place to start, a goal to work for? Instead it's No, Bad Louie, you should know better somehow. He has no options, he has no friends, and he has no outlet for his need for financial gain.

Farmer to Farm Animal Derek...
Wolf Derek: Fit. Agile. Keeps all the animals in line and walks miles every day around the farm, flexing his muscles throwing hay bales or wrangling horses. House Dog Derek. Agile and fit but softer. Lets himself eat more, relax a little bit more. Meets Stiles who brings him over baked goods and shows him how to turn slightly damaged produced and vegetables in decent dishes...and Derek gets a little more willing to let himself be fed and loved. Bear Derek. Stiles talking him into hiring more help. Boyd, Parrish, Scott, Isaac....he starts forming a rag-tag family and trusted workers, so he doesn't need to work from dawn to dusk. And as a result, he's a little grumpy, but secretly a marshmallow, and in love with Stiles and his cooking. The farm expands to making their own cheese and beer. Grows out his beard and his belly fills out to a proper beer belly. Cow Derek. This version of Derek ends up gaining like an hourglass... his belly impressively big, but seems almost small next to how inflated his chest and rear have become. Sensitive and leaking nipples and huge heavy moobs to match his ground-brushing belly and wide ass which is always sticking up proudly in the air. Stiles makes sure Derek is always being milked - and always being fed with Stiles' fattening farm-ready mixture - Derek's own milk turned into sweet cream. He makes sure Derek is so constantly overfed and overstimulated all he can do is let out big groans that turn into mooooos. Pig Derek. The version of Derek who develops an addiction for more. Can never say no to good and greedily stuffs himself with everything Stiles cooks or any food within reach. Starts eating so much even Stiles tells him "might want to slow down" but Derek still eats until he's begging Stiles to help rub his belly and get rid of his stomach ache. Flabby all over, fat rolls and stretchmarks and double-chin, hanging arms and wide thighs.....Eating so fast he's just oinking and making muffled burps and groans. The lazy- slob Derek who doesn't care how badly his stomach aches, how bad his gas is, how many food stains he's covered in...he wants MORE. Too lazy to shower, can't be bothered with anything but watching himself balloon. Hog Derek. Big and proud of it. The farmer who wins blue ribbons for his prize winning animals suddenly joining in - gets rolled on stage by Stiles, as he kneels on all fours in the judging section naked and proud, in front of admiring fans and judges. They're all walking around him grabbing and examining every inch of him. And then they turn to the next part - a table of food is wheeled out and Derek wastes NO time in getting to work. He finishes to claps and mumbles of approval - and then Stiles comes on stage and tells them that was only round 1...he's trained Derek better than that! Derek comes away with the blue ribbon and back in his supersized trailer Stiles fucks him while telling him how PROUD he is of his huge hog, how next year Derek is going to be the first two time winner. And of course.... Barn-Sized Derek. Too fat to be confused for anything but a lard-filled blimp, being pumped full of slop 24/7 and outgrowing his pen on the farm...

(Aftg?)
Hiii!
So this is an idea I had for a soft-ish high school au where the Foxes are all still traumatized, but have been adopted into stable homelife situations and are finally in a position where they can start to heal.
The families are as follows:
Wymack adopts Dan, Seth, and Nicky.
Abby adopts Kevin.
Betsy adopts Andrew.
Randy gains sole custody of Matt and adopts Aaron.
Stephanie adopts Renee.
Allison lives with her grandpa.
And Neil lives with Stuart.
Wymack adopts Seth 1st when Seth’s mom dies. Seth is ~11 (his dad has already walked out by then) when he is adopted. Unfortunately the rest of Seth’s siblings get divided up by the foster system but Wymack is able to help Seth track them down and arrange visits them when Seth wants to.
Wymack adopts Dan next when Dan is thrown into the foster system instead of the care of her aunt cuz her aunt refuses to take custody of her. Dan is ~9 when this happens.
Nicky comes last, when he gets taken away from Luther by CPS for sending Nicky to conversion camp at 13. He is put into and adopted by Wymack.
Abby adopts Kevin after Kayleigh dies cuz as much as Wymack would love to adopt Kevin, at this point he already has 3 kids and can’t really take anymore. Abby volunteers and since Wymack and Abby are moreorless married, for Kevin it’s basically just like as if he’s living with Wymack.
Instead of the Spears, luck of the draw the foster system puts Andrew with Betsy and it’s all pretty straight forward from there.
When Matt is 8, his dad dies, so Randy gets custody of Matt by default. Some years later, Matt wants a younger brother and Randy wants to foster. Luck of the draw and they adopt Aaron. Tilda dies when Aaron is ~9. Luther and Maria are deemed unfit for children (hence Nicky being taken away and ending up with Wymack) so he gets put into the system. Randy adopts him.
Stephanie and Renee is basically the same as canon except Renee is aged down a bit.
When Allison is ~13 and developing her eating disorder, her grandpa takes her out of her parents custody and helps her out.
Neil is living with Stuart because Stuart decides to make his move against Nathan super early, when Neil was about to be given to the Moriyamas. He kills Nathan, but Mary dies in the process. Stuart takes custody of Neil as a result.
Everyone is in the same city and goes to the same high school.
That was a very long set-up explanation lol. The main story would be just general high school shenanigans. Here are some snippets:
Dan crosses her arms. “What do you want then.”
The boy, Matthew Boyd she thinks his name is, holds up a flower, cheeks red. “I—I wanted to give this to you.”
-
Andrew definitely doesn’t have strong feelings about Neil Josten’s lips. Not at all. Because Andrew hates Neil Josten.
-
Andrew pokes Aaron’s cheek. “Stop making my face look weird.”
Aaron scoffs. “Stop being a little bitch then.”
“We are the exact same height.”
-
“I’m not talking to you unless you take off your shirt or something.”
Kevin shrugs, easily pulling his shirt over his head, abs flexing attractively. Andrew glares at his physically toned perfection. Absolutely disgusting.
“Now will you talk to me?” Kevin puts his hands on his hips like a disapproving mother. It’s awfully reminiscent of Wymack and shirtless Wymack is absolutely not an image Andrew wants in his head.
“No,” Andrew says. “Put your shirt back on. No one wants to see that.”
“You literally just said—“
“Andrew!” Bee calls from the house. Kevin scrambles to put his shirt back on just as Bee steps out onto the porch.
Send me a “📓” emoji and I’ll tell you about a fic idea I have that I’ll never write

WHY WERE SCOTT, BOYD, AND ETHAN CHOSEN AS SACRIFICES DURING THE MOTEL CALIFORNIA EPISODE OF TEEN WOLF? Discussion below.
TW: Themes of suicide below.
I’ve been thinking about some of the discourse I’ve heard lately whilst listening to some podcasts about why those specific three were wolves were chosen as the sacrifices for the Motel California episode. A common question that I have heard raised was out of the four werewolves on the trip, why was it Scott, Boyd and Ethan? Why not Isaac?
I do agree with the opinion that switching Isaac with Ethan would have been far more impactful to the viewers. They really could have done something with him and his traumatic background, especially because the audience connected so much to Isaac as a character - particularly over Ethan. Especially because Ethan’s attempted suicide didn’t connect much with the viewers - not only because he’s a villain at that point, but also because we don’t know enough about him as a character, or his past, or what the significance of him hallucinating something in his torso is. The other attempted suicides in the episode are connected to the characters’ guilt and its origins. For example, how Boyd tried to drown himself because his sister fell through the ice and drowned, which he felt was his fault. Could this be a representation of Ethan feeling guilty about his brother and his actions, represented through the imagery of their bodies being connected like how they merge? We will only ever be able to speculate. So why did the writers decide to show Ethan instead of Isaac?
I have always thought this is more of a question of why did Jennifer/the Darach choose those three werewolves to sacrifice, rather than why the writers did (Nevermind the fact that the werewolves didn’t fit into one of the sacrificial categories, but I digress).
1. Scott was an obvious choice for Jennifer. She knew Deucalion was working to get Scott on his side, and with Scott on his side he’s all the more powerful and more difficult to take down. Especially because Jennifer knew Scott was on his way to becoming a True Alpha - although it is never disclosed how she found out or when, but it was revealed a few episodes later in the hospital-centric episode. It can be assumed at this point she knew what Scott was becoming. Choosing Scott to target was not only easy because of his immense guilt at this point in the series, but it was also beneficial for her as it would eliminate a possible threat and also prevent her enemy from gaining more power.
2. Boyd as a choice is slightly less obvious but still makes sense. Boyd is Derek’s strongest beta. Boyd is most loyal to Derek, what with Isaac’s allegiance shifting towards Scott’s pack. Jennifer has already shown she has no qualms about using Derek’s betas to manipulate him, as she did with poisoning Cora. And what was the reason she poisoned Cora? To weaken Derek enough that he would need her help to defeat the alphas/Kali who were coming for him. By getting rid of Boyd, Jennifer would have more control over Derek, hence why she chose him as her second sacrifice.
3. Now for the character that most people question, Ethan. I actually believe Ethan is the simplest to find reasoning for. He’s part of the alpha pack. Killing Ethan would not only weaken the pack as a whole, but it would weaken Auden and make him easier to take out as well. He makes the most sense for Jennifer to target out of the group.
The only reason I can think of for why Jennifer would have chosen Isaac, would be similar reasoning to Boyd. However, as I previously mentioned, Boyd at the time was a more valuable member of Derek’s pack due to his loyalty. Isaac’s loyalty was wavering anyway and he would soon take care of himself for Jennifer by breaking away from Derek on his own.

painful idea : flood outbreak on zeta halo :-)c poor chieflings… heheho
"I really miss the Spartans right now." Some ensign with baby fat still softening their face cries as they shelter in one of Zeta Halo's many caves.
"It was supposed to be a research position. I study xenoarchaeology, not- not this!" One of the scientists. The one who was crying about the other white coats who used to be with the group. Boyd and Rivera.
"Hush!" The senior officer calls over the group. She looks like she's going to say more when a noise makes everyone clutch their weapons closer.
The glow sticks they risked lighting cast everything in an eerie green, just like….
A shadow falls over the cave entrance and silence strangles the breath in all of their throats. The strange grumbling and chittering freezes their blood as the ragtag group stays stock still in the dark.
They barely know each other, separate departments, squads - different lives all about to end together in the same cave a million miles from home. If there's even a home anymore after all this. No one's been near Earth in over a year.
The shadow leaves, its shape lurching and malformed. A tendril, once an arm, drags on the ground with a slithering wrongness.
Someone exhales.
Someone else shrieks.
Panic jolts through the group and they scatter as the baby-faced ensign screams and grabs their leg. One of the little ones is latched on, prying its way into their nervous system, skin and muscle and bone just a tool to use. A meal to have and knowledge to gain.
The scientist runs and goes down under a handful of the little ones. The air thickens with spores and the group coughs between screams.
Gunfire finally, blessedly erupts and bullets fly. The spray of a rifle puts an end to the pod infectors and the xenoarcheologist.
A marine goes flying as the shadow stalks in from the mouth of the cave. Something that used to be a brute corners the rest.
The sounds of screaming ends when the voices change. Sinew and bone snap and crack out of view of a helmet cam.
The battery lasts until Chief collects it.
"Chief?" The Weapon asks.
He's silent as he watches the footage. It confirms what he already knows.
"Chief?"
"Tell Esparza to stay in the air. No deliveries."
"He's not responding."
The Weapon sees his vitals spike for the first time since they found the helmet half buried in Flood viscera. The memory processing parts of his brain had lit up and he jolted at the sound of her voice.
"We'll find him. And I'll take care of this."
She doesn't know if she believes him.
