AI Isn’t the Problem—Trust Is
Artificial Intelligence is making its way into workplaces everywhere. Tools that once seemed futuristic—AI-powered assistants, predictive analytics, automated workflows—are now just part of how businesses operate. But here’s the real challenge: It’s not the technology that’s slowing AI adoption. It’s the people. A recent Business Insider article pointed out something that many leaders are…

Disclaimer: This image was created using GenAI. I am aware of the discourse around AI. I still wanted to share this really cool image that made the shape of Ada's guardian really come together for me. I hope you can forgive this indugence in the context of the artwork I have shared/ commissioned before.
Chapter 6 of "A Wayward Heart of Emberlight" will be online by 7PM CEST / 1PM EST.
Every day is rougher than the one before. The tadpole is a heavy thing to carry and the help the companions receive may not be as honest as Ada would like.

once again i am being subjected to "educational courses on generative AI" (lengthy advertisements that the higher ups want us to watch so they can say that we are trained in AI)
#it's a contact year we need to show that we spend a lot of tiem not only maintaining this stuff but also learning and improving the produc#we provide#they never define what they mean by AI or how the AI actually works its driving me insane#whoah this adobe ai can generate an image for you and insert it into the image you have have without learning photoshop#yeah but HOW. where are these images being pulled from? what methods are used to produce this shit#HOLY SHIT: most programmers dont actually spend that much time programming. they actually spend a lot of time in meetings. helping coworker#reading emails. reading documentation. HELLO???? YES??? THOSE ARE NORMAL THINGS TO DO???#yes attending meetings is annoying but the solution is to fucking reduce the amount of meetings and ensuring that meetings are efficient#NOT TO ADD AI????#the stupid fucking AI building half ur code isnt gonna reduce the time spent looking at documentation!!!! u can't trust the AI to be accura#to be accurate so ur gonna have to go to the documentation anyway!!!#“u can just code not worrying about syntax blah blah” so writing psuedocode??? doing a top down approach to get the big idea#and then write the little stuff later???#im so fucking livid this is SO DUMB#literally all the shit they mentioned in passing sounds actually useful instead of the generative AI bs#no i dont need a little guy to write my code for me#but a guy who checks my syntax? that suggests i look at a particular function from the library? that sounds useful!!!#“if i ask this thing how to do X it will tell me how with steps!”#Okay so will the documentation???? hello????#omfg this guy conviently skipped over the part where the AI gave a WRONG ANSWER#bro i can read the screen it did NOT accurately describe the game#“have it generate the game for you” the point of the little shit is to learn how to do stuff so you can apply it to the big shit#god im just so enraged#mr supervisor is this a good use of company resources?#you are billing t he client for ME learning ai bullshit#sir you having me sit through hours of learning the newest buzzword concepts. is this a good use of 8 hrs the client pays for me to be here#chit chat

Miguels logic is flawed front to back but the one big thing im also concerned with is that he is hellbent on trusting LYLA's whole canon event model to a T
that AI did not even have a good solution to prevent miles from escaping. given that Spider-Byte got to the machine reset screen while actively ignoring LYLA's help she's not exactly perfect

comp sci is still a great field to get hired within, provided you magically already have 5 years of experience, then the amounts of money they want to pay you are obscene. You’ll make more in an hour than my min-wage part time friends will make in a week. Also everyone’s willing to take you for free. Which is why there are ‘jobs’ in the US tech market. Ask those ‘interns’ how much they’re making. No-pay jobs are illegal in Canada and that’s why no one’s hiring. That’s why the stories about how programmers and otherwise thinking roles in software development are ‘obsolete’ and ‘can be done by AI’. They can’t actually. Firstly because having your AI write your code would require you to give someone like OpenAI, Google or Meta, third parties that are not between you and your clients, protected data, which is insane. Secondly the one non-tech guy you retain or the tech lead you’ve asked to double check the AI’s work but is in Teams meetings from 6 AM to 7 PM, is not going to catch an AI’s various security vulnerabilities. So have fun. “We don’t need software developers anymore” my whole entire sat-in-an-office-chair-for-8-hours ass. Private companies will crumble without us. This is purely a cash thing.

For associations — organizations built on trust, expertise, and community — the rise of AI isn’t just a question of adaptation. It’s a challenge of relevance.  At .orgSource, we believe this moment presents an…

AI Isn't the Enemy—It's the Invitation
Choosing curiosity over fear—AI isn’t the enemy, it’s an invitation to explore. Why Resistance is Normal and What to Do About It A few months ago, I was on a call with a colleague when I mentioned how I used AI to organize my notes, prep a workshop outline, and generate ideas for a difficult stakeholder conversation. She paused, narrowed her eyes, and said:     “I don’t know, Kakie. I just don’t…

Guys did you know the newest AI hype train is something called Agentic AI and it just means that we now have systems where AI can be an agent, a colleague, a true assistant in that given a goal to achieve, it can make decisions and execute it on your behalf. It's different from other AI systems in that it doesn't just perform narrowly defined and specific commands; it is goal oriented and will chase the outcome by itself based on a decision matrix and various inputs. So self-driving cars are an example of Agentic AI because given a goal of taking a passenger to the destination, it needs to make several decisions such as mapping the route, sensing the surroundings and reacting to the changing input, and execute its decisions to achieve the goal. Other Agentic systems are being built to be your errand boy/personal valet essentially - you could tell an agent to figure out how much you owe a contractor and pay him on your behalf. If you let the AI systems access your emails, calendar, and BANK ACCOUNT. It'll take care of it for you so you can direct your attention to better things. And I'm just like um. That's. Something.

OH! Must share before it's forgotten.
Had a new client at work today and he was one of those "I wanna make your dreams come true" types. I mentioned I like doing SW because working only 3 days a week is generally feasible (and good for my disabled self to not be overworked, though kept that to myself). But I did mention that I do art and take commissions. "Make things for people when they ask me to."
And this dude proceeds to talk about AI and how that's where the real money is for artists because of... I guess production speed, and that "people can't even tell."
Since I do want that return money of a repeat client, I bit my tongue for the most part but did say, "I don't use that. I actually draw things" and "I'm actually quite against AI for most things, especially art." And tells me I must not be in it for the money.
And... well... I'd love to live off my art, no... nothing to me is about the money. Money is the lowest priority to me besides: needs met + enough not to be stressed tf out.
It was just... weird. I can't believe someone actually suggested to an artist that they use AI.
Another day, another realization that I really do not understand so much of the world or the way people think.
