Class Feature Friday: Interrogation Methodology (Pathfinder Second Edition Investigator Methodology)
Tumblr media
(art by @kippdipp here on Tumblr)
No matter what form it takes, the core of any investigation is, in fact, asking questions.
Before you roll your eyes at me for such an obvious observation, let me elaborate. Investigation is about asking the right questions, and about using those questions to find the relevancy in every detail that others might overlook. We’ve seen how the 2E version of the investigator does this with alchemical aids, logic, and medical knowledge, but now we’re looking at the final (for now) methodology, asking questions to people.
Now, when we think interrogation, modern media has taught us to imagine a stark chamber in a law enforcement facility with a single table, usually 3 or 4 chairs, a single lightbulb hanging low in the room, and probably a big two-way mirror for the audience of other detectives to observe. There’s Good Cop Bad Cop, not-so subtle attempts to subvert civil rights and extract confessions, and all those other things that copaganda shows do to try and make such actions seem ok or even heroic.
But is that all that interrogation can be? I certainly don’t think so, and there are plenty of fictional detectives that don’t resort to browbeating or manipulating witnesses or perpetrators to get their way. In fact, we have a perfect example in the subject of today’s art, with Columbo, a show that’s all about a detective who just talks to people, and proves just annoying and bumbling enough get people to let things slip, and walk right into his trap.
Indeed, interrogation investigators work best, at least in my mind, when they make full use of social skills and their own investigation into the facts to note the discrepancies and why those discrepancies exist, building a case until they can reveal their knowledge of the truth.
With that in mind, let’s look at what these investigators can do.
These investigators have a knack for diplomacy and for guiding the emotions of those they interact with, including calming those who might react fearfully near them. Furthermore, they can pursue their leads with someone as they are otherwise ingratiating themselves to them, getting them to open up in both the emotional and informative sense.
What’s more, they also have a knack for asking pointed questions, ones that either delight someone with the ability to share, or fluster them with how deep they cut, compelling an answer. Even if they manage to lie, the shift in their emotional state makes it easier for the detective to read them.
Additionally, there are feats tied to this methodology, including the ability to more easily pick up on lies with Lie Detector and the ability to unnerve targets with a question with Make Em Sweat.
Other feats might prove useful to them as well, such as Eliminate Red Herrings, That’s Odd, Person of Interest, Connect the Dots, Predictive Purchase, Whodunnit?, Just One More Thing, Reason Rapidly, Plot the Future, Implausible Purchase, Reconstruct the Scene, Just the Facts, and anything else that would be useful for your personal build and style.
By necessity, this methodology makes for a bit more social and affable investigator than one might assume from your more Holmes-likes. As such, a more social build may be in order, but don’t forget to put some focus into combat as well, for even the most cerebral of villains will still try to get their way with violence when their plans have been discovered.
Like every type of investigator, today’s subject really prompts the GM to come up with those subtle details that help them piece together the truth, but in this case more than others, the GM has to developing those acting chops to find ways to drop hints without being too obvious as part of their roleplay. Additionally, remember that interrogation is not their only tool here, and inconsistencies in someone’s statement can only be revealed as such if the investigator has examined all the other evidence to the best of their ability.
It may seem strange for a human to be delving into cavern elf politics, but that is where inspector Montrieux finds himself after he is asked to act as a neutral party in an investigation of the murder of an official. He sets about interviewing various members of the ruling class, but is interrupted when he walks in on a noblewoman’s estate being butchered by a masked warrior.
While the rivalry between the Ironblood and Truebranch factions is officially over, that resentment is still close to the surface. This is why every member of the Truebranch is a suspect when an Ironblood turns up dead. However, the truth is far more sinister, for a zealborn undead, a former Ironblood, was willing to sacrifice one of his own in order to reignite the violence, and without intervention, it is definitely working.
Though the art of keeping and training the various monsters and beasts of the land has recently become available to people of every level of society, there still remain those that treat it as a noble practice in Ilkwood, flaunting ā€œpurebredā€ heritages that are lauded as superior to what commoners have access to. When a commoner starts defeating said purebreds in competitions, people wonder if they will soon vanish, though none suspect that the commoner is actually building a case to expose corruption at the elite level of the practice.

ateez san mini personality reading
positives + negatives edition updated!
Tumblr media
this reading is a paid commission, a buyer asked if I could update this reading! please know you can always commission readings that have already been done as time as passed and things may have changed, or if you would just like to see what else may come up. you can read the original here! thank you so much for trusting in me! <3
+ positives
he does pretty well under pressure (or maybe he can just put on a brave face) but either way, i think it may take a lot to make him crack publicly if he doesn’t want to, mentally resilient, he has a very realistic life approach, which in turn leads to him usually following through and doing the things he says he’s going to do because he knows he has the determination and tools to make them in reach, imaginative & full of ideas (i think his mind moves pretty fast), intelligent, authoritative, very ambitious and a pretty tough rival because of this, can be very loving and nurturing to those he holds dear - giving unselfishly whether this be knowledge, emotional support or material items, may also be the type to lend others a hand anonymously, makes a conscious effort to not be too logical or emotional - tries to be fair, has a very strong code of ethics or moral code, good at things due to willpower and determination (he probably is an all rounder in some sense, he wants to be able to do it all), forgiving, humorous, devoted and always trying to learn more/keep his mind open - he may see himself as a life long student.
- negatives
suspicious and distrusting of others - hard to get close to, very controlling and wants things done his way (he can be very consuming in this sense), hard to get in contact with, uses his immense charm for bad - very flirty with women and may lead them on without much feeling (like being super nice to someone, sleeping with them once, and then immediately ghosting), is constantly trying to help fix and improve others lives (even if they find it overbearing or inappropriate) even to the point that he doesn’t check on himself or isn’t fully aware of problems he may be dealing with mentally/physically, gossipy, makes connections and forged alliances purely for personal gain, can stand for or advocate for things he doesn’t believe in to make himself look better or put him a better position financially - too career oriented, moody and can be pretty harsh when he lashes out, can be egocentric, delusional about his abilities and arrogant about his way of life (ā€œmy way of living is the best wayā€ or like thinking everyone is chasing toxic or trivial things but him)

Do you do readings with other Nazis? Eg: Himmler, Gƶring, Goebbels, etc.
I would love for you to do a reading on Albert Speer! I really enjoy your posts!
My apology that I my blog is more WWII military-centered, so viewers actually find very few (to none) posts that are about Nazi party members proper.
But, tomorrow is Mr. Speer’s birthday, so I’ll make some comments on him as a happy birthday gesture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This person has a powerful Neptune nearly exact conjunct Ascendant. This Neptune is as powerful as Fedor von Bock’s Uranus. Fedi’s Uranus conjuncts ascendant on the 1st house side (linked towards acute self-awareness), whereas Speer has his conjunction located at 12th house side (linked towards profound self-unawareness). This person dissolved himself in his life’s work; he practically has no self left.
This placement facilitates extreme psychic ability. You may say, oh, then, Speer is another Rudolf Steiner whose life’s work revolves around mysticism, esotericism, the occult, and also sculpture and architecture. No, Speer does not even has an ego-structure for that, especially with a Mercury-Neptune hard square. At least half of his brain does not live on earth at all. He is pretty bad at taking care of his own mundane daily life, and uninterested in mundane subjects such as political debates.
You do often observe in occultists (ie, Rudolf Steiner, Mme Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley etc) a strong-willed dedication towards whatever work they’re doing (that’s why non-secret occult societies tend to fall apart), but for Speer, there is no dedication- dedication implies an act of dedicating the ā€œselfā€ towards something, but basically Speer just melts in his "works" like water; and like formless water, he relies on ideological structures to give himself form. Without a rigid ideology or at least a protective figure, he would be lost or very easily taken advantage of; but with one, he probably would be led astray just as easily. Either way.
This Neptune gives him an unique ability to design things THAT SEEMS TO BE INFINITE, beyond any human scope. His Neptune breaks down Mercury’s logic with a hard square, so he has to manage to ā€œrealize the illogicalā€. The highly abstract and "illogical/not-mundane logic" part of quantum mechanics and mathematics probably suits his heart better. When it comes to architecture,Ā  what Speer really attempted to make real as a concept, is probably The Oldest House from the video game Control- a clusterfuck of none-logic that encapsulate infinity, since Speer has no ā€œego-containerā€ to restrict anything down.
Tumblr media
Speer’s is not even a case where he lets his imagination goes wild; you have to have a ā€œselfā€ to allow your ego to imagine things. You look at Rudolf Steiner’s architecture, you would be aware that ā€œit is a work of an accomplished mystic, yet, a mystic is still a manā€.
Steiner's design-
Tumblr media
On the contrary, Speer’s work would look something like ā€œthe collective unconscious of a hundred thousand manā€ if built properly. Note that a collective unconscious is more often than not an awe-inspiring and an dark place.
Astrologers would say a powerful Neptune renders the natives all daydreams and no practical work, but I can’t even say this Neptune is so impractical that Speer really amounts to nothing- because that is plain wrong. I’ll say this- the way he does work, that would not be out of any practicality or concrete knowledge, but rather he directly transplants an ISEKAI or some kind of superior parallel universe to this 3 dimensional world where he doesn’t even fully live in (and the misery thereof, he hardly ever grasped). It is a "spiritual" genius instead of a brain genius.
Take that as you will how you interpret his role in the Nazi party.

i would like to hear more about your ocs
(I didn't know which ocs you specifically speak of so I'm gonna do all my KND ocs and just make them fun facts or just some background about them)
Melancholy Burnham:
-She oficially became a KND operative after the incident that caused her little sister's life and after that she cut all contacts with her mother. I was going to make her apart of Sector Z but I scrapped that idea considering the timeline, But instead she was put into Sector V and have only ever heard of Sector Z by stories or books she's read about them.
-She was raised by her dad and his side of the family "The Burnhams", The family consists of a Grandfather, Grandmother, Two uncles (brothers) and two aunts, Mella's father is the oldest son, the middle son has 5 children, and the youngest son has 2 children. Total of 7 cousins for Mella.
-All family members have a specific silhouette suit that reference the emotion or negative feelings triggered by a specific traumatic or life changing event
Ex: "Melanconly" was the name given to her because of her melancholic state after her sister's loss.
-Mella is supposedly the youngest Burnham, for her being around 10-11 years old.
The Wonderful Kids From Across The Street:
-The WKFATS are a similar group to the DCFDTL as well sharing only a father figure but their lives are more happier and free.
-All kids have a different personalities and traits yet they are inspired to be like the Delightful children from down the lane, The difference is that they have the ability to talk individually but it takes them along time to separate from each other.
-They are the adopted children of Dad, A man who owns a multimillion company but the only reason he kept working was because he cared about his children and their future.
-Their nicknames for each other are either what their shortened names or 'dear brother/sister, brother/sister dear'.
-The children are inspired to be the different taste buds of a human actually,
Caleb: Sour
Celine: Bitter
Phoebe: Sweet
Lucas: Salty
William: Savory
Diamantes Siblings:
-Very inspired to by the Diamonds of Steven Universe. Blue, Yellow, Red and White.
-No one really knows where they came from or how they got to the neighborhood but people still welcomed them like they were new neighbors.
-They were mostly seen as the 'sophisticated' family and were often looked at as rude and prissy rich people at first but they were actually the nicest neighbors! They were an energetic family that revolves around love and protection and won't hesitate to help a person in need.
-The oldest child; Colton (Colt) was inspired to be like a General. He was strong, courageous and most of all skilled at the battle field, when it comes to his sisters he always protects them and does only physical harm to his enemies.
- The middle child; Beatrix (Bebe) was inspired to be like an Entertainer. She was cheerful, energetic and very social, She won't hesitate to destroy someone's spiritual values and make fun of their existence making her enemies think too deep about their value with enough time so her brother dunks them.
-The youngest child; Amelie (Amy) was inspired to be an Empath. She was emotional, kind, gentle and more leaned to logic and intelligence. She uses her enemies' emotions against them, either to make them feel bad for her or degrade them to an emotional breakdown so her siblings can handle the heavy work.
-Of course they only fight when necessary, They aren't really much harm to people unless provoked to or at least one of them gets hurt.
-Their mother had passed away due to an accident and was gone for the majority of the children's life yet still lives on by their father telling stories about her.
-Their father was a busy man but will always make time for his children, he trusts them enough to let them out of the house on their own or let them stay out passed curfew but only with his knowledge.
-Their father was a man who learns people's mentality for his gain but only when strictly necessary, he also protects his kids with his life.
-All siblings were abnormally attractive by kid's standards and would often be mistaken as models by many, Their dad was a big shocker to many people as well.
(And I think that's it, I hope this is what you were referring to! Thank you for the ask and I hope this is much of a satisfactory answer. Don't hesitate to keep up with the questions!šŸ’™)

Do you have a specific idea for a self insert to ship with Entrapta, any storyline etc?
i swear i had put the information about them here but i cant seem to find it? so either im wrong and just thought i did or tumblrs search function is ass (either is possible). but doesnt matter either way, ill explain it here. The explanation is under the read more as it contains some stuff im tagging with a trigger. as well as being long and not wanting to clog timelines Tw incest
STORYLINE So the first thing i want to get out of the way is they are siblings. yes this is a sibling ship, And there is a reasons why. Entrapta is a princess and we all know how royalty feels about incest (im joking, this is a joke XD) the real reason is that she lived alone her entire life. she grew up in her castle surrounded by machines and robots that raised her. she genuinely had no living family that ever raised her. so the idea of the only other person she was raised with being her brother, the only other person she ever really knew being him? well thats a bond that is so incredibly close and goes beyond what one normally expects. they are literally the only other person each other has known their entire lives. even as siblings its no wonder the feelings bloomed when the only other human being you ever interacted with growing up being your brother means the feelings between the two of you are extremely personal and isnt the same as everyone else. like sure there are the robots that taught her all the stuff she knows and TOLD her about society and how people act and stuff. or atleast how they are supposed to..but its not the same. pretending a robot is another person isnt the same. and sure they are taught about laws and societies and stuff..but doesnt really mean much in the end
Plus i mean we already know she isnt the most caring about laws and morals, i mean she happily joins the horde after she sees the advanced technological power they had as well as some "convincing" from catra. so even in the end she wouldn't care im her brother, or realize that its bad no matter what anyone said. To her it only made logical sense she would fall in love with the only other person she had ever known growing up and vice versa.
INSERT THEMSELF
My inserts name is moss aka "The Huntsman" , and as i said before he is entrapta's brother. ive taken some liberties with canon to expand more on entraptas family. See, in the story we have some books and audio recordings of our parents and are able to learn a little bit about them. Our father was a brilliant technological genius and he originally designed the robots that raised me and entrapta, and was the old leader of dryl and he had a deep fascination with first one technology. As you can imagine he is where entrapta inherited her genius and love of robotics and first one tech. She took to his research like a duck to water and sure enough she had an intellect to rival even his. I tried but it never clicked with me and i always ended up more confused than anything. Our mother was in tune with the wilds, combining her otherworldly tracking and hunting skills, the ability to control her hair like limbs, Her deep knowledge of the natural world, as well as her supernatural skill with a spear. She was the greatest hunter in all of etheria and she loves nothing more than the thrill of the hunt. I inherited almost all of our mothers skills and abilities and took to her teachings much more than i did our fathers (that was entraptas favorite as you can see, as well as her gaining our mothers hair powers.) and so i became the great huntsman like our mother had been the great huntswoman all those years ago. Entrapta was only ever interested in these teachings if it involved first one tech based nature. Design wise i feel like his outfit is a mix of furs and leathers with more advanced plating underneath (courtesy of entrapta) and even some augments that can improve my abilities (things like ability to hide my body temperature, muffle my footsteps even more, and change color to blend into environments).

Listen, I've read the last chapter and I want to say so much… First of all, it's insanely emotional. I really read with bated breath. I have so many emotions and thoughts about the ending right now, it's not what I expected, but it's insanely logical for this job. Gideon, as people in my country say, "what he fought for, he ran into."
It is interesting to watch how Grogu releases his attachment to him over the years - and at the same time how much he looks like him in places, it's creepy. This manipulativeness and the ability to make a naive, unhappy look in order to get your own - this is not from Din and not from birth. I'm really interested now to wait for the Nurture someday to understand how all this will reflect even more time later. And I still find it valuable that in past charter everyone - Din and the others - accepted Grogu's right to LOVE Gideon. Regardless of whether would he continued to feel it all his life or not, it was extremely important at that moment and, I think, it is important now. Because Grogu can now understand that even if he is not on the "right" road and feels "strange" feelings, he is still loved. Whether the situation changes or not is a matter of less importance. This is very important knowledge regardless of the present point.
By the way, Gideon's reaction to the meeting is interesting. He throws mockery at the fact that Grogu still cares, but he too does not behave like a person who does not care. It would seem - you never loved this child, five years have passed, what difference does it make that he is happy with another person? But no, Gideon behaves like… painfully attached, when it seems like he doesn't really need it himself, but you can't give it to another either. It’s hard to explain, but I really didn’t get the impression that he didn’t give a damn about all this long history.
Also, I don't think that's what you meant, but at some point I had a thought… what if Gideon purposely ran into a gunshot? It is clear that at first he was angry and really perplexed, but at some point … I thought so because it must be extremely difficult for a person of this kind to live in a prison cell. He has no power, no purpose, no Empire, for which he fought, in general, quite sincerely, regardless of methods. He is nobody and nothing. And he's smart enough to be fully aware of it. What if at some point he saw that Grogu was sufficiently angry with him and he had a weapon with him - and decided to take advantage of the situation. But that's just my thoughts.
I do not know what to say. This is probably one of the first works not in my native language that so captivated me and that I read in the process, looking forward to each chapter. Because the languages we speak are different, but the theme is international. The whole work is very … reliable, and sometimes the emotions from reading were such that I morally departed from the new chapter couple of days. This is something unique and beautiful, although it tells about terrible and sad events. I love each of the characters. Wren is not a canon character, usually I don’t perceive OC at all, but with you he is so alive and real that he looks … native. He doesn't stand out from others in a bad way. His character, personality, motives and feelings are all so believable, he's beautifully written.
Thank you. It was cool)
This is so so undeniably sweet and so so thoughtful and god I am so, so happy you enjoyed the finale (I'll be honest, your reactions was one of those I was anticipating the most!) And I'm glad you were willing to look past the language barrier to read my silly story! It means the world to me, and I can't possibly express just how much I've appreciated your support - every ask and reply and interaction makes me so so happy!!
There's a bit of Gideon in Grogu, but there's a bit of Grogu in Gideon as well. You're absolutely right that Gideon got just a tiny bit attached, in the most messed up way possible. He hated the fact that his Asset saw another person as his father, and that 'he was a better buir than (he'll) ever be', even though he hated it when Grogu called him father too. What you said about not needing something but not letting anyone else have it is exactly on point, and I'm so so happy you got that
And I'm so happy you liked Wren Farvo too! He was a plot device at first, but I've grown to genuinely love and adore him. He means the world to me and I'm so happy you liked meeting him (I probably won't be able to resist slipping him into some of my other works as a side character. Just to carry him along as we go)
Again thank you so so much! I'm happy you've enjoyed it, and I'm happy to have made you happy <33

Why don’t Luz and Lilith try to FIGHT Philip Wittebane?
Why not try to break or return the Collector moon discus, so that this blatant murderer doesn’t walk away from this with exactly what he WANTS? Ā There’s so many options in that moment to undo at least SOME the damage. Ā Or they could hold it ransom, and exchange information on the portal. Ā There’s nothing stopping them from doing anything. Lilith just gets in one satisfying punch, a meme-bait line… Ā And then for some reason they just leave. Ā Nothing is done in response. Ā As if the punch resolved things.
The argument they’re trying to preserve the timeline just doesn’t add up. Ā  They’ve already failed at non-interference when they stopped him from getting beaten up and his journal torched. Ā Luz hasn’t even been able to listen to the entire journal; and thanks to the haphazard nature of the Echo Mouse, is it even all ordered like how it was written? Ā So some of the contents of the journal, and the context, is like a temporal Schrodinger's Cat. Ā No one has observed it (unless you count the magic stomach acid of the Echo Mouse), so it essentially doesn't exist.Ā  (More spoilers below break).
Okay sure, Belos would know what's in that journal, he WROTE the thing. Ā But A) Luz can't exactly visit him to talk, B) his word is dirt, and C) Luz doesn't even know that Philip has lived on and so wouldn't think to ask. Ā As far as she should know, she's the most knowledgeable living person in the entire universe about Philip Wittebane.
I don't know if any physics in Owl House are written with a Copenhagan interpretation in mind, but it's not like Luz knows that either. Ā Nor would she much care; she's kind of shotgunning this whole time travel venture, in a very Luz way.
All that wouldn't count for bits of the journal filled with blatant lies anyhow. Ā Philip was caught red-handed fibbing in the journal about the arranged deaths of Lilith and Luz. Ā Blue Fang was confirmed as a "sacrifice." Ā Judging from the complete lack of shame or shock when confronted for any of this, Philip has done this over and over again. Ā  So at the very least, any part of his journal talking about the the 'tragic loss' of his companions is a load of total *garbage*. Ā  Therefore, if Luz and Lilith decided to haul Philip back to Ye Olde Bonesborough to stand trial, she has plenty of logical leeway to set back his plans. Ā Luz isn't aware of any proof that Philip finished the portal and made it home anyway. Ā Or that the portal was completed by HIS hands. Ā It's just a strong chance, which Luz is desperately chasing down so she can reunite with her mami. Ā We haven't seen the actual final chapter of the journal, and according to the Gravesfield legend Luz heard, the Wittebanes were never seen again.
But we don't have to make a convoluted argument about when counts as temporal leeway in the timeline. Ā It's fictional magic, I know people don't really care much about it. Ā Even I feel silly after just reading back what I just wrote. Ā What's really important... is that I can’t see Luz as someone who would set murderers loose, even if it would jeopardize her ability to return to Earth. Ā Or violate any cosmic ā€˜rule.’ That was the entire basis for her tragic sacrificial gambit at the end of Season 1. Ā She also makes it very clear what she thinks of "destiny" in this very episode. Ā Brushing off the tropes of Destiny was at the core of Owl House, which it made it beautifully clear at the series outset.
I really, really hesitate to use the term ā€œplot hole.ā€ Ā Partly because it’s been overused, and mainly because it’s association with bad faith or dumb critiques/rants. Ā A lot of times that term ā€œplot holeā€ is applied leaps in logic made for the sake of entertaining the audience. Ā  Like an extensive action sequence, with 10 minutes of martial arts instead of someone just ending it with a bullet (most of my fave franchises rely on this). Ā Maybe a ton of unrelated events lining up to make an intricate plan come together. Ā Or just a stroke of luck so a protagonist can make it out of a situation without death or dismemberment.
But the ending didn’t offer any of that. Ā When we leave the skull temple, we aren’t given a thought-out escape from Philip (even though he has impressive power), no conniving deception, and not even a fun chase sequence. Ā  Lilith and Luz are just artificially lackadaisical, suddenly dumbed-down. Ā It certainly wasn’t because they were feeling forgiving of the jerk.Ā  Lilith didn’t like the guy from the start, plus she is totally able to whoop his ass.
The worst explanation would be implying the characters really do give into the BS defeatist mindset of ā€œit’s destiny, can’t be helped.ā€Ā  Credit where it’s due, the show COULD be setting this up for Belos to work off of.Ā  That he brings it off to show off to Luz or Lilith that ā€˜destiny’ and God are actually on his side.Ā  It actually could be an F’ed up way of trying to convince Lilith to rejoin him.Ā  ā€œDo you see now, Lilith?Ā  I HAD to break our deal and make you betray me, so you could enact your adventure in the Dreadwardian Era.Ā  To act otherwise would unleash a temporal rupture of paradoxical chaos.ā€Ā  You know how this bullshit would go.Ā  I HAD to hurt you.Ā  GoD hAs A pLaN 4 eVeRyOnE. Cults are happy to try and rope back the people who leave, even after treating them like feces for leaving in the first place.
Tumblr media
If the time and/or animation budget was too tight, just have Lulu or Luz go: ā€œCrud, we need to head back to the portal now before high tide!ā€ Ā Even though that last option might have costs us an excellent baluster joke payoff.Ā  The easy solution for preserving the continuity, and the run time, would be for Lilith to at least smash the artifact into pieces out of spite. (New idea: have her punch THROUGH the plate, INTO Philip’s face!) Then show Philip reassembling it in that awesome cave sequence.

Here we go again, some Steddie idea for the void:
He is still not quite sure how he managed to solve that mathematical problem, but sure, working for the NASA sounds like fun!
Eddie... he's not stupid. It's just that school doesn't keep him occupied, doesn't spark a tiny bit of interest.
It's not that he's a really bad student either. It's just that O'Donnell hates him and Shakespeare outside of funny DnD sessions bores him to death.
But he's not stupid... (That's what Wayne always says).
There's music and mathematics, physics and chemistry that really gets him going. Numbers are cool. Astrology and space and all that shit really fascinates him.
Oh, and History can be fun (though it is pretty whitewashed and makes him want to claw his eyes out on a regular basis).
After Chrissy and the whole thing with the Upside Down, there's little to no motivation to pull through his graduation, but he does and somehow manages it with somewhat decent grades. Not good enough to do anything interesting, sure, but not so bad for Uncle Wayne to be embarrassed about it. (Not that good ol' Wayne would care - as long as his boy is alive and healthy).
So, Eddie's not stupid, but he's definitely not one for an academic career. It's just that he was at the right?wrong? Time in the right/wrong place and managed to see a tiny mistake in this random dude's papers about astrophysics.
It's not that he knows shit about it, really, it just makes sense. Logical, so to speak. He'd read an article about the topic just recently for a DnD campaign. It had never been his intention to...you know...impress with his half-hearted knowledge.
But fuck, now there are people from NASA and co calling his uncle's house and begging him to work for them, even wanting to pay for his higher education.
While it sounds cool, sure, Eddie just knows that he will never get accepted into those colleges with his grades. He knows he probably has to do some admission tests to show how smart he is. And it's just not his thing...almost like school all over again. So, he wants to drop it and act like there have never been ten calls by the SETI Institute.
Until Wayne tells Robin, who tells Nancy, who tells Mike who tells Will and El who tells Red who tells Lucas and Erica who tell Dustin who tells fucking Steve the Hair Harrington....
Who then stands on Eddie's meager door step with five bags full of books about stuff (Mathematics, Physics, Astrophysics, Einstein and Gross, Schrƶdinger, Fermi) and a hand-drawn timetable made by Nancy.
And for the very first time, there are people believing in him and his abilities, people just knowing that, if he wants it enough, he'd be able to reach any goal.
The thing is: how is he supposed to concentrate on all that when there is Steve with his kind eyes and sparky humour and cute lips and broad shoulders?! How?!

could you do the anxious tics prompt with fo3 and new vegas companions? sorry, i think i’ve asked you to add characters a lot but i just really love your writing ^^ā€
FO3 and FONV Romanced! Companions react to Lone's/Six's Anxiety Tics
Here you are, my love. Please never feel bad about requesting more people! It's honestly what I live for, and I loooooove making content for the FO3 and NV folks, since I feel like there's a lot less written about them in general 😊
So thank you so much for the ask!
Here is the prompt with FO4 Companions!
FO3
Butch:
Ā  Ā  Ā The flash of large red-framed letters had caught Butch’s attention as the pair stood waiting to speak to Doc Church outside his clinic in Megaton. ā€œWhatcha got there, babe?ā€ he had asked, before realizing that it was, in fact, exactly what he had thought. Lone blushed as they looked up at him, hiding behind the pages of their comic book. ā€œYou really kept that? After all these years?ā€ They had nodded to him, explaining that it was a sort of security blanket for them, that they could always count on reading the same story, seeing the same happy ending each time they looked between the pages, each time they felt uncertainty or stress, they could count on Grognak to see them through it. He grinned whenever he saw them with it, often curling up beside them, or leaning his head on their shoulder to try and read along with them. In these cases, Lone had to read the pages slower than they normally would, reading the same comic book over and over for the last 10 years means you can skim through it pretty quickly, but they don’t really seem to mind. Now they get to watch as this person that they care so much for enjoys the comic book they relied on and adored for so long.
Charon:
Ā  Ā  Ā The ghoul was curious about Lone’s tendency to nap directly after dealing with stressful situations, but he decided not to voice any inquiries. His companion would explain themself if they wanted him to know more. One day, they did. Lone had thanked him for always looking after them while they rested off their anxiety, and mentioned that it was something they couldn’t help. Charon had nodded at them, acknowledging their gratitude, before his blue eyes had narrowed in his effort to process the rest of what they had said. It seemed strange to him, sleeping off nerves... Wouldn’t that make it moreĀ difficult to sleep? He decided that the logic of it didn’t really matter, whatever it was that caused it, he would look after his partner as they took the time to rest. Soon enough, they would beckon for him to join them, leaning against his shoulder or laying their head in his lap as he kept watch over them. A scarred hand would come to run softly through their hair, or graze lightly over their arm as they dreamed away their anxieties alongside their watchful partner.Ā Ā
Clover:
Ā  Ā  Ā Lone wasn't quite sure why, but it seemed to them that Clover was always so handsy whenever they became anxious. They had to admit, they didn't necessarily mind it, but she always seemed to get frisky at the most inopportune times. Meanwhile, Clover just can't seem to figure out why Lone is always casting hints her way in the middle of stressful situations. She gets it, she totally is picking up what Lone is putting down every time they draw their bottom lip between their teeth and gnaw away so suggestively, but do they really have to do that right now?! Once Clover finds out it's just Lone's way of coping with their anxiety, she feels sort of foolish… but that doesn't stop her from getting a little turned on whenever Lone does it, even though the timing is usually inconvenient for both of them. But afterĀ the trouble and stress has passed, Lone will certainly need to blow off some steam, right? If that’s the case, Clover is more than ready for it.Ā
Cross:Ā Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā Cross often noticed when Lone had trouble focusing, she tends not to miss a thing, especially when it comes to her Lone. When she sees her partner struggling to keep their attention trained on the person speaking to them, she usually will step in and ask if the person can speak to her companion again at a later time. Her direct and clear way of speaking is a relief for Lone when they are experiencing tension, as their listening becomes almost ineffective when they are being spoken to during times of high stress or anxiety. Paladin Cross understands this, and pays particular attention to speak slowly and with great care in these times. Due to her affinity for speaking this way normally, she and Lone tend to never have issues with communication; which evidently, tends to keep Lone from becoming anxious when they’re around their partner.
Fawkes:Ā Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā Within his first couple weeks of traveling alongside Lone, the mutant noticed their need to constantly snack. When he decided to inquire about it, and they hesitantly explained their habit to stress eat, he wasn’t sure he understood it, but he knew that he had his own ways of dealing with his nerves, which came in the form of wringing his hands whenever he became anxious. So, if this is how Lone deals with it, he will accept it without question. It wasn’t until one fateful day, when Lone had realized they were completely out of snacking material and they were on the brink of a breakdown, that they realized Fawkes had taken their words to heart, as he reached out a large hand, filled to the brim with an assortment of their favorite snacks from one of his pockets. All this time they thought he only kept ammunition in there, turns out, their partner always had a well-stocked stash of their anxiety-repellent hidden away for cases just like these. They smiled coyly as they took a box of snack cakes, and a tin of crisps, settling down beside Fawkes as he lightly ran his hand up and down their back as they leaned into him, their breathing already beginning to return to normal with each passing moment.
Jericho:
Ā  Ā  Ā The ex-raider always thought it was a little annoying, the way his companion would stutter at him every time something got dicey, or when they had to deal with some sort of verbal confrontation. It was painfulĀ to watch, and when he brought it up to them, and they stuttered back an embarrassed response, he realized it was well out of their control. It would still bug him, and he might make an off-handed comment about it every once in a while, but the more he saw that those comments weren’t funny to his partner, the more they glared at him as he laughed at his own rude jokes, he decided he should refrain from such talk. Lone hadn’t developed a thick skin like most wastelanders he was used to, and certainly not like most raiders; and he would have to constantly remind himself of that. After his realization, he wouldn’t say a word about their stutter again, and God help anyone who did. You mention his partner’s stutter, you’ll probably have one too by the time he’s done with you. If you still even have a tongue, that is.Ā Ā
FONV:
Arcade:Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā The doctor almost flinched at the feeling of Six’s fingers wrapping around his thumb the first time they did it, but he managed to keep his composure and simply utter a sarcastic comment in response to their sudden action. But when their stress passed, and they explained that it was a tic of theirs that they had trouble controlling, he immediately understood. Not only was he a doctor (so you know, he has pretty extensive knowledge regarding things of this nature) but he’s also had his own lovely tangles with anxiety in the past, and can’t really blame Six for their habit (despite the fact that he has absolutely no tics of his own to deal with). However, his understanding of it doesn’t mean he isn’t going to make some sort of humorous comment on the action whenever it occurs. At Six’s annoyed expression he says that he is simply trying to lighten the mood a bit, maybe distract them with his humorous musings. Six thinks he must not have a clue that he exercises his own coping mechanism (ahem, sarcasm) whenever their gesture makes him uncomfortable, so they end up trying to keep themself from grasping onto his thumb to the best of their abilities. But, to be honest, they’re relieved when Arcade begins reaching over his hand to them in times of stress, his eyes avoiding theirs, and his comments going unuttered, but his thumb extending outward to allow easy access nonetheless. This gesture usually results in a kiss on the cheek for the doctor when his partner has gotten through their bout of stress.
Boone:Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā He had noticed it when he first met the courier, the way they couldn't look him in the eye. Boone hadn't been sure if it was just him, considering his constant need to wear sunglasses and his somewhat stoic demeanor, or if it was the way they were with everyone, but either way, he didn’t mind in the slightest. When he found that it was a result of their anxiety, he simply nodded to them in understanding, and the pair went on their way. The sniper honestly wasn’t big on direct eye contact himself, another boon of wearing sunglasses was being able to keep your eyes trained wherever you liked, and so people tended not to notice his own habit of avoiding eye contact with them. He threw the idea out to Six one night, and soon enough the pair wore matching sunglasses nearly all the time. And though, as he said, he didn’t mind Six’s habit one bit, the knowledge that they only looked people in the eye when they felt completely comfortable and at ease with them made it all the more special when they did decide to look into his eyes when the pair was talking, or sharing a tender moment. In those little instances, Boone liked to study the details of his partner’s eyes, committing their warm and vibrant glow to memory, paying distinct attention to their unique shape, and the way their pupils dilated as they gazed back at him. He only wondered if they noticed his eyes doing the same in return as he took in the details of the one he loved.
Cass:Ā Ā
Ā  Ā  Ā The caravanerĀ always tends to offer some form of alcohol to Six whenever she sees their leg shaking in such a way. Cass is familiar with the side effects of withdrawal when she sees them, and she'll try to help her partner to the nearest drink as soon as she can. When Six finally asks her about why it is that she offers alcohol to them when they’re feeling stressed, mentioning that it maaaaaay not be the most healthy coping mechanism for anxiety, she is a bit confused. They were anxious!? Strange, she only tends to shake like that when she hasn't had a drink in a while. With the knowledge that it’s a nervous tic of theirs, Cass uses it to her advantage to better tell when her partner needs to take a load off, or blow off some steam. At the sight of their leg thrumming away, she’ll give their thigh a pat to get their attention, and then ask if there’s anything she can do to help them. As luck would have it, a stiff drink does tend to give Six the time to calm their nerves, so that trend isn’t completely abandoned once Cass has found out the truth about Six’s habit.
Raul:
Ā  Ā  Ā "What's the matter, boss? Can’t find the right word? Lo siento, mi corazón,Ā English isn't my best language, but I can try and help if you want." Raul is… confused at first. Whenever Six snaps their fingers, he can't seem to figure out if they're trying to find the right word to say, or if they happen to be looking for something, maybe they're trying to keep time, or make a beat? Maybe they’re counting something, trying to remember a phrase? Once they tell him it’s just a nervous tic they have, Raul looks a little embarrassed at the fact that he didn’t assume this earlier on. The ghoul tries not to pay much attention to his partner’s habit, since he knows it must make them a little self conscious when people point it out, but sometimes he can't help but snap along, trying to make a little song to go along with their own improvised rhythm. When Six does finally notice hisĀ contribution, Raul just likes to wink at them in response, flashing a playful little smile as they blush in embarrassment at the fact that he caught them doing their nervous tic.
Veronica:
Ā  Ā  Ā When Veronica noticed that her partner had pierced ears, she was ecstatic. Ecstatic, and jealous. She always wanted to pierce her ears, to find or make her own pretty little earrings to decorate herself with, but alas, ear piercings were certainly not within the limits of Brotherhood dress and decorum. Given her interest in them, it’s no surprise that she noticed the way Six twisted the backs between their fingers, twiddling the bits of jewelry absent-mindedly whenever they became stressed or nervous. Often times, Veronica would reach a hand out to gently pry their fingers from their earring, pulling their hand to her lips so she could give it a small kiss before bringing it to settle somewhere else, to keep them from damaging the little bits of jewelry in their ears that she envied so much.Ā

HC Aizawa's parents (EN/FR)
In English
Shouta was borned from unknowed parents. As he hit 19, he had the opportunity to get more informations on his biological parents, and decided it was not logical to seek those informations.
His adoptive parents, Daisuke and Anko are both heteromorphics. They are from Osaka. His father's quirk is "cat", he looks like a black cat. Officer Sansa is actually a distant cousin of the Aizawas. He has cats abilities such as night vision, flexibility, agility… His mother's quirk is called "Komodo Dragon". She has many reptile traits, part of her skin is covered with scales, she has sharp teeths, and venom glands in her mouth.
Daisuke is a very outgoing man. He jokes a lot, talks loudly, loves to have company. He's a fisherman and he made a habit of sharing fish with the local stray cats. He's addicted to cigarette and to this day he still tries to hide from Shouta when he smokes not to give a bad example. Shouta actually started smoking when he was 13 and both of them have been hiding their smoking unsuccessfully to each other since this time. Despite their differences, Shouta and Daisuke look alike. He's the reason Shouta's favorite color is black. They both wear baggy clothes and lean on walls with their arms crossed. Daisuke's smile looks odd because he has a cat mouth, and Shouta learned to smile by mimicking him. This is why Shouta's infamous smile looks so weird and forced. In the night, when you only see two bright yellow eyes and the red dot of a cigarette, it could either be Shouta or Daisuke. (note from author : remember, in the manga, Aizawa's eyes actually light up in yellow, not red)
Anko never smiles. She learned at a young age that her pointy teeth and the idea of her venom being in her mouth would make people uneasy or afraid of her. She ususally wears a surgical mask in public. Her face is not easy to read, just like Shouta's. She works as an archivist. She stopped working when Shouta was little, but she missed work. So she decided to work on an online archive about crimes commited on heteromorphic people while her son was at school. She went back to work as soon as her son was big enough. Anko is a very strict mother, she expected from Shouta to have a perfect behaviour, especially in public. She's also the most caring person with the people she feels close too. She has a "us against the world" mindset.
It's common knowledge that two heteromorphic parents can only have a heteromorphic child. So their family attracted attention, to Anko and Shouta great displeasure. Daisuke likes to joke about it, and make people feel awkward for staring or asking obnoxious questions. His best trick is to pretend he knows nothing about the laws of genetics. This is how his son learned how to lie, or "use a logical ruse".
As you can see, Aizawa Shouta is the perfect Anko-Daisuke mix.
Their appartment in Osaka, near the harbour, is filled with books and pictures. The whole family loves to read. Anko curates a pile of books for her husband to take with him for each of his fishing trips. The typical sunday at the Aizawa's is spent near the kotatsu, with books and music, a fish stew bubbling in the slow cooker.
As a kid, Shouta would wait on the wharf for his father to return. Then he would help unload the crates of fish from the trawler.

Why these Lookism Bad Guys are liked, a rant by me
Alright, so I have came across a post talking about how Johan is hated on despite being a "bad person", and trashing other characters for absolutely no reason other than guilt tripping people. I personally think the post is immature, but due to my own personality and mental state, it has still got me kind of pressed, because it all sounds ridiculous. This post will be about some people in Lookism that are viewed as a bad people and or are hated on, and why I think they are liked. I won't speak for everybody liking these characters, and it will include some characters that I hate. This post is just to give a general idea for people who are really ignorant about why some characters might receive love. You might have come across that post, and if not, I am talking about this one below. - Well, only a small part of it, that threw me off. -
Tumblr media
I didn't include the person's username out of respect and also so they don't feel attacked or anything of the sort.
Before starting this off, there are a few things I would like to say. If I sound petty, I truly don't care. I never saw anybody hating on Johan, at max maybe give criticism, I also don't hate Johan or try to disvalidate anyone's feelings, just get some things straight. Liking someone's looks does not immediately mean you are attracted to them, neither does liking the person's look you are attracted to mean you are toxic. It means you are loving. If you like someone's personality, you will find them beautiful consciously or subconsciously. If someone finds a character handsome, it is not a crime, people have types and preferences, and if they do it's none of your business. Hating good looking people doesn't make you woke, neither hating on people who are attracted to good looking people. What are you, Crystal Choi? And yes, people will be attracted to looks, it's a normal human act. People will notice if they find someone more attractive or unattractive which is not a bad thing. What is a bad thing when they start treating people different because of it. I assure you, most of the lookism fandom that I have came across doesn't do that.
This post will not include Seong Yohan because I never saw him get hated and I don't think nobody knows where he is coming from.
Samuel Seo
Yeah, so what seemed to be a surprise for me is that not a lot of people like Samuel, or at least understand why the people liking him would. Now, I personally feel no romantic attachment towards him. - Which is yes, normal, even if he is fictional. It's called fictophilia and I better see no judgement about it. - However, I do love Samuel a lot, and would love to care for him and grow a strong bond. To me, Samuel is not a monster. At all, believe me, Samuel isn't liked only for his looks. For me, personally, I love him so much because I can relate to him. I absolutely hated him at first, but grew to love him because he is human. He is complex, has a hard life and isn't perfect. That's exactly why I love him, and someone else I really adore does too. Yes sure, as you grow to like someone's personality, you find them handsome and or pretty. It's so much easier to say someone is pretty than to say, 'Hey, I love this person because they helped me go through so much.' Not everyone has the same love language, not everyone is comfortable with blunt affection. Besides, Samuel can and will achieve anything he wants. He has SO much sides to himself, not just 'good looking violent guy with big tits'. That's not Samuel at all. Besides, if PTJ oversexualises him, it's hard to not notice his body.
Yes sure, Samuel hits women, but I personally, don't f%cking care. Your vagina doesn't define if you deserve violence or not, your behaviour and the person's you face personality does. I am personally someone that doesn't mind violence as long as the person deserved it, because some scumbags in this world do. If they happen to be a woman, that's not on me, they shouldn't have done whatever they did. If you are not a violent person, I am not even sorry to tell you this, but you are probably sexist. It's not like all women are fragile and unable to get hit. Besides, if his violence is the problem, why is it fine that he hits men? Because men can handle it? According to statistics women have a higher pain tolerance. By your logic, you should call him out for hitting anyone in his way. Stop acting like hitting women is a necessarily bad thing, start saying that hitting innocent people is a bad thing.
If you must hate on him, maybe use the fact that he killed his abusive and neglective parents. Don't give a hard time to others for liking him though.
Ahn JongGun
Does Gun seem like a bad guy? Absolutely, he has done some horrible things. Then why do we like him? Because he seems to have a smaller character development coming, he has so many things to him and he is an absolutely incredible and complex character. I am very curious of his background and what caused him to be so violent and yet so calm. I like him because he allows himself to be human. From his religion, to his knowledge of material arts, to his adoration towards Vasco's material arts teacher - I forgot his name, so excuse me for that -, to his attention to details, to his fashion sense, it all makes him human. It's nice to see someone be a human, instead of just 'hot guy' or 'villain'. He is a nice character that brings many depth to the story. I could list a hundred of reasons why I love him, and no, none of it is his "weird" fashion sense. I do find him incredibly stylish, I just think some people in this fandom don't understand fashion. - Oops, I guess. - My main reason to liking him is that he is most likely either bisexual or pansexual. That he has a crush on Daniel. I might seem like I have a weird fetish or something, or that I am a crazy "fangirl". That's not the case though. I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and while not huge, I adore the hell out of the representation. It's nice to see such a smart, elegant and powerful guy be the representation. Because he is a character that's not there simply to be gay and full of stereotypes. Like, no hard feelings if you fit into stereotypes, but as a person who doesn't fit into them, it's a refreshing thing to see someone that's allowed to have many sides to himself other than just 'the gay friend'. Of course I am sure there are a lot of people who have many other reasons to love him, like his endless knowledge of material arts. There is so many reasons to be interested in his character, and just because you can't see it that doesn't mean others are blind to it too.
Yeah, he might have slept with countless women, but the main reason you can't count it is because he never stated the amount of women he slept with, neither did anyone else. Sure, he did say that Daniel is better than any women he ever slept with, but for all you know that could have been 3. Even if, it doesn't matter. He could have slept with 3, or 70 women. It doesn't matter, because not everyone's sexual life will reflect your own. And other people's sexual life is none of your business. Sure, you can say it's only fiction, and that I am overreacting, but when it comes to such small or personal details, people tend to put their own personal view into it. It's really not fine to shame others for their sexual life. As long as he uses protection, and didn't make anyone pregnant and doesn't play with the feelings of anyone, who gives a f%ck.
Some people tend to lash out sexually if they experience trauma or stress, and no, I don't mean they go and r%pe people, I mean that they go and have sex with different people who give consent. Even if he doesn't do it because of that, why does it bother you so much? Sex isn't a disgusting act. Some people like it, some people don't. Whatever their decision is, as long as no one is hurt, you should respect their decision.
Kim JoonGoo
Alright, this got me f%cked up. Goo is such a good character, and no way he would ever cheat on his S/O. He has morals and a lot of good sense in himself. Sure, he might have said that Samuel will be his secret friend, which led OP to believing Goo would cheat, but that's... a terrible reason, in my opinion. Gun knows that Samuel works for Goo, and Goo owns up it too. Besides that, nothing, absolutely nothing would lead to the fact that Goo would cheat. Because he wouldn't.
Now, why do I like Goo, and why some other's might like him too. He is such a well put together character, unpredictable yet so simple. He damages people to a point they have to retire, doesn't get scared of murderer, is a money maniac and hates his boss. You would think, he is dirty and fits the "gangster" stereotypes. That's not the case at all. He is more hygienic than most of the characters of lookism, if not the most hygienic one. He hates drinking and smoking, doesn't have tattoos - not that there is anything wrong with that - and is incredibly patient.
He might be a money maniac sure, but his ability to control money so well the way he does just shows how high his IQ is. I find that amusing, since it's something hard to do. What I completely love to the moon and back about Goo is his creativity.
When he gets into fights, he is patient and maybe let's himself get hit a few times. That's a good thing because he has time to learn about what he is facing. I think that's neat, because not a lot of people think about that during fights, and he taught me to do that. Also, the way he harms people is very creative too, no matter how harsh that sounds. He stabs people with chopsticks, kicks people with a glass piece stuck in his shoe and harms people with a katana. It's all so unpredictable yet fits him so well. I really love the way he fights and handles situations because it tells so much about him. Also, he is so fun, who would do karaoke after beating a bunch of guys unconscious? Only your one and only Kim JoonGoo. He is such a fun person to study and to read about.
So, no, I will not put up with the bullsh%t that he would cheat on his s/o, because he is a very respectful and none judgemental person. Just because his fights look violent to you, and his friendship with Gun unstable, that doesn't mean he is a bad person. It just means he is different from you, and yeah, he does f%cked up things, I won't deny that. That's exactly what makes him an interesting character.
Xiaolong
Now, I personally don't like Xiaolong that much, so this will not come from heart, but a place of logic. For a disclaimer, I am not caught up on the latest chapters, because I want to binge read it.
Now, even though I do not like Xiaolung, I can see why other people would.
He is a responsible person, who takes good care of himself even though he has to look after Vivi 24/7. He is not only good in his job, but takes it very seriously too. He isn't afraid to take action to make sure his job is going smoothly, and that everything is on it's place. He would do anything to protect Vivi, which can be appealing to some.
And from what I saw from spoilers, he is very strong. No, admiring his strength does not make the person toxic or fragile. It means they find the place in their heart to appreciate the type of struggle and hard work he puts into it. He has an unique way of fighting, which I could only see a small portion of. However it's clear that he must be impressive. I completely understand if people find that neat.
Also, Xiaolong seems like such a f%cking loyal person. That's so incredibly important. A lot of people can find that appealing, for various reasons. I am aware there are poly people, or anything similar to that, but loyalty is so important for some people and can form a very deep sense of love.
Yeah, he might take care of Vivi when she is drugged and let her get away with drugs but consider this that's his job. He is payed to do that and swore to do his best in it, as it's very important to him.
Outro;
Yeah, I don't care, like who ever you want to and defend them, but if you drag down other characters and guilt trip people because of liking specific characters, you are not going to be "woke" or special. And I will find you, and e a t you. - For legal reasons, that's a joke. -
That is not the only post that I saw shame those characters and people who like them, but is the one that made me messed up.
This fandom absolutely loves shaming people if they love the character design and looks of their favourite character. Let me tell you something though; You are missing the point of the whole manhwa you are reading.
Finding people attractive and beautiful is completely normal. Treating them differently because of that is not. As far as I am concerned, I never saw any lookism fans hate on characters they find less attractive. - Rather on the attractive ones. -
People have a type and that applies to looks and personality. Literally everyone does, even if it's unconsciously.
If you want your favorite character to get more love, don't make other people's comfort characters look bad on purpose, because in their eyes they aren't simply the bad qualities you see in them. And if you highlight them at least make sure they are true or at least reasonable bad qualities.
Well yeah, that was my little rant. And I didn't even mention the psychological aspects of why each character is like, or in other words what people they might attract. Or, the difference kind of personal life experiences people had to go through to appreciate each kind of little detail about the characters.
Yeah, this is the end of my little rant. If this post will get actual mature answers and discussions, I will make a similar one for Vinjin, Logan, Olly and Jiho. Yeah, I hate all of them, but other people might not.

Didyme, Part 2: Something, Something, Plato's Allegory of the Cave
Continuing from here, and we’re doing sub-parts for this bit. I’m genuinely surprised I had this much to say. (And fun fact, I almost lost the entire goddamn post, but fortunately I was copy-pasting into Word just in case. Not today, Satan.)
2.1. What Canon Tells Us
Didyme’s murder by Aro (and with Caius’ apparent assistance, either during or afterwards), is only mentioned on the page in Life and Death, the 10th Anniversary gender-swapped version of Twilight. Edythe/Edward mentions it briefly when discussing the painting of the leaders Carine/Carlisle brought back from Volterra, but it’s just background information with little narrative weight. I bring it up just to highlight Caius’ involvement and knowledge -- I’ll get back to that.
Now, here’s the ā€œcanonā€ backstory we have to work with. Per the illustrated guide, Didyme was Aro’s younger sister, and he turned her at some point after meeting Marcus, Caius, and Athenadora. Interestingly, the Guide doesn’t say anything about Aro returning to Didyme out of brotherly love; apparently he just wanted to see if she would have a powerful gift like his, only to be underwhelmed (ā€disappointed,ā€ according to his Guide entry) by her actual ability -- she made people happy just by being around them. Then she and Marcus fell in love, sharing ā€œthe strongest romantic bond of any of the Volturiā€ (from Marcus’ Guide entry), and this prompted a suddenly very single Aro to seek out his own mate, Sulpicia. The Guide says Didyme ā€œdistractedā€ Marcus from Aro’s goals, and that the pair eventually made plans to split off on their own, leading Aro to murder Didyme so he could hold onto Marcus and his valuable gift. Although nothing written so far suggests that Aro even liked his sister, the Guide does state that Aro ā€œtruly loved herā€ and that his grief upon killing Didyme was genuine.
Apparently Caius’ role in all is was something Meyer thought up later, because none of the leaders’ Guide entries mention him being in on it. (You can’t see me, but I’m staring pointedly at Part One.)
2.2. Fuck Canon, Actually
(This just seemed like the funniest place for a cut. Continued below~)
I’ll be honest with you, person who’s persistent/unfortunate enough to still be here: very little about this murder scenario makes sense to me. I’m going to start with the ā€œdisappointingā€ nature of Didyme’s gift and that it was supposedly much less useful to Aro than Marcus’, because that’s just...stupid, frankly, and there’s no way Aro would have missed the inherent utility of Didyme’s gift. I don’t even have to read into anything to get this idea -- the Guide itself shows us how useful it is! It says right there in Marcus’ entry that Aro went off to turn Didyme, and returned with his sister, ā€œalong with the first members of the guard -- vampires who were drawn to Didyme’s aura of happiness.ā€ That is a direct quote.
Just -- I practically shrieked when I read that. You’re telling me that Didyme’s gift was the stated reason their coven got its first subordinates, and I’m supposed to believe that Aro thought that was disappointing? Fuck off! Fuck off!! Even if Didyme’s happiness aura isn’t as powerful as Corin’s opium haze, well, Aro doesn’t have Corin yet, does he? He has every reason in the world to want to keep Didyme around, drawing other vampires to his cause -- even if most of those vampires aren’t gifted or skilled enough to join the guard, it’s still good PR.
At this early stage in the Volturi’s rise to power, it isn’t a good time to lose Didyme -- or any of his inner coven, really. Yet Aro apparently considered her disposable enough that he killed her. I can’t square this with what we know about Aro: that he’s still coherent despite holding god-knows how many people’s lives in his head; that he’s very intelligent; that he’s cunning, charming, and persuasive. Aro, once he learned they were thinking about leaving, would have tried to talk to Didyme and Marcus and done everything in his power to convince them to stay just a bit longer, until the Volturi’s position was more secure. And maybe he did; the timeline of all this is hazy, but nothing in the Guide suggests that Aro jumped straight to duplicity and murder. Clearly, though, whatever negotiations or arguments he presented failed. So what does their desire to leave the Volturi at this critical stage say about Didyme, or Marcus for that matter?
2.3. What It Says About Didyme and Marcus (Mostly Headcanon)
Brace yourself, because we’re into full headcanon territory now. To follow me, please refer to @therealvinelle ā€˜s meta about the larger mission of the Volturi and why they’re necessary, because I’m starting from the perspective that the Volturi are ultimately a force working in vampires’ and humans’ favor. While Meyer and the Guide would have you believe that Aro’s just power-hungry, actually looking at the impact of the Volturi and the benefits of enforcing secrecy shows that his broader vision isn’t just world domination, but establishing a world in which vampires and humans can both thrive and endure. There’s no way the rest of the inner coven was unaware of this goal; we know Aro talks a lot, so he’s certainly talked his coven’s ears off about this.
Now, we know very little about Marcus and what he was like before he was all dead inside. Based on what would be a logical balance of personalities, with Aro as lead decision-maker and Caius as ruthless enforcer, it seems likely that Marcus was originally the voice of reason and/or mercy. I also think Marcus would have had a strong sense of duty. The Guide says that Aro was the first friend Marcus had as a vampire, and I believe that Marcus cared about him very much and was committed to the Volturi. I think he would have been genuinely conflicted about leaving, especially considering the stabler, safer world the Volturi have been striving to build, and which they haven’t yet secured. Again, it’s a very bad time for any of the leadership to split off -- but in the end, Marcus and Didyme are going to do it anyway.
What for, though? Why leave? @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin has an interesting take on that question here: that Didyme saw that she and Marcus would be locked into the Volturi life and a thankless existence for eternity and tried to opt out while she still could. I like it a lot, it’s a great post and that scenario makes sense, but the tone of it feels...too forgiving. Maybe that’s because I’m evil. But the way I see it, given the magnitude of the Volturi’s mission, and its (at best) very tenuous grip on power at the time Marcus and Didyme plan to leave (they haven’t even defeated the Romanians yet), jeopardizing the entire operation so that they can pursue their romance unburdened strikes me as...well, fundamentally selfish on some level, so much that I find myself side-eyeing Didyme and Marcus for it. Although to be clear, it’s not the desire to live their own lives apart from the Volturi that I find selfish, just the timing of their departure.
Honestly, I’d like not to vilify another female character if I don’t have to. Given everything I’ve just said, I see Didyme in much the same way as I see Bella: not a bad person, but someone with definite selfish tendencies. At best, she’s likely short-sighted or naive if she doesn’t see how leaving the Volturi at this stage is fucking them over in a big way. However, I hesitate to read into the happiness aura as a straightforward indication of Didyme’s fundamental goodness; I think she probably was kind, charming, and delightful to be around, hence the nature of her gift -- but that capacity for selfishness is still there. (I’m certain Meyer wants us to take her gift as proof of Didyme’s goodness, to reinforce how evil Aro is for killing her...but I think I’ve made my disdain for what Meyer wants me to think pretty clear.)
2.4. MURDER MOST FOUL
I am not saying it was justifiable or okay for Aro to murder his sister. I’m really not. It’s actually better, from a character standpoint, that it isn’t okay -- that Aro has to carry this with him for the rest of his life while Marcus sits in the throne next to him, reduced to a husk, so that in effect Aro has lost them both after all. It’s got that Greek tragedy element @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin mentioned in her post. (Even better from that standpoint, the Guide implies that Aro found Chelsea relatively soon after killing Didyme, which compounds the tragedy.) I mean, it’s terrible, and it hurts me because I love Aro, but it’s compelling stuff.
What I am saying is, I can see how their insistence on leaving might have deeply hurt and offended him. And that brings me to my issue with the calculated murder scenario the Guide gives us -- I still think Didyme’s gift is too valuable for Aro to throw away by killing her in cold...venom (or whatever), even as the price for keeping Marcus in the fold. Plus, there’s the fact that Aro does love Didyme, and I imagine her gift makes it very difficult for people to think of harming her...when they’re calm, anyway.
Yeah, the only way I can really see the murder happening is if Aro killed Didyme in the heat of an argument about her leaving, possibly even by accident -- except you can’t accidentally kill a vampire, can you? It’s a very deliberate process wherein you have to dismember them and burn every piece, which also means it probably takes long enough that any irrational, overwhelming rage would wear off before you were done. But now that you’ve started....
I mean, at that point it would certainly be awkward to put your half-rubble sister back together, and Aro would be in a whole other load of shit even if he did. It’s possible, given what we’re told, that Aro could have lashed out and yanked Didyme’s head off before snapping out of it, only to realize that his sole option now is to finish the job. If he doesn’t kill Didyme now, she and Marcus won’t just leave, they’ll be sworn enemies of Aro from then on. And thanks to Didyme’s gift being the draw for a lot of the guard, and the inherently bad look of a leader who would brutally attack his own sister, a chunk of the guard would probably leave with them, destroying Aro’s plans. No, the only way to salvage it is to follow through.
Then Aro has to call in Caius for help with the cover-up, because it wasn’t actually planned and it’s just pure luck that no one walked in on the murder as it was happening.
And maybe Aro learns a hard lesson about learning to let people walk away, leaving the possibility open that they could be drawn in again. Because if Aro had just waited, he would have found Chelsea, and with her gift he could have had Marcus and Didyme back again.
Assuming everything didn’t fall apart as soon as they left, of course. But that’s a whole other what-if scenario.

hey uhhh... that Jet and Hama parallel in your tags... I amšŸ‘€šŸ‘€šŸ‘€ if you’re up to talking about it skebejneje
AAAAHHHH thank you so much for the ask!!! (Referring to my tags on this post.)
Okay, so this is word-for-word what I wrote down after watching The Puppetmaster for the first time, and I just realized it has more to do with plot structure than character parallels but we’re just going to have to live with that for now. Here it is:
While in an unfamiliar place during their adventures, the Gaang is taken in by an initially-friendly person who provides them with food and shelter, but has a mysterious backstory. Sokka doesn’t trust this person, but Katara bonds with them instantly, especially after forging a special connection with them that revolves around the atrocities the Fire Nation committed against them both.
As the story progresses, the mysterious person offers to involve Katara in their adventure and teach her their special abilities/what they know, while Sokka, still suspicious, separates from her to investigate this person on his own. To the Gaang’s horror, he discovers that the person, having let their hatred for the Fire Nation consume them, is now regularly committing their own atrocities against innocent Fire Nation citizens in a bloodlusted search for vengeance. But it’s too late; Katara has already found herself involved in these horrific acts.
The person eventually gets their comeuppance at the hands of the Gaang, but Katara is still left guilty and morally conflicted over her connection with them and what she has now been taught. The episode raises questions about whether harming innocents for the crimes of an entire nation (which itself harmed innocents) is ever justified.
Which episode am I describing: ā€œJetā€ or ā€œThe Puppetmasterā€?
OP of the post whose tags I originally commented on is absolutely right in saying that both episodes, and the characters they introduce, raise complicated questions regarding imperialism. Both Jet and Hama are traumatized and angered by their pasts and seemingly unable to move on. As this post (and I highly recommend reading the whole thing) suggests, they serve as visions of what could have been for, respectively, Zuko and Katara had either one let their anger or desire for vengeance consume them. But, importantly, neither Hama nor Jet is a one-dimensional caricature or stereotype: they have personality, pasts beyond just their tragic backstories, friends and allies. (Hama has Kanna and the other SWT waterbenders; Jet has the Freedom Fighters*.) While neither is by any means an entirely innocent or morally pure character, they can’t take all the blame for their actions, and neither can be reduced to either a ā€˜good’ or ā€˜bad’ person.
*Personally, Jet’s Freedom Fighters were one of the aspects of his character that made me like him more. For one thing, I’m a sucker for the found family trope, and the Freedom Fighters have that in spades. They genuinely seem to like and trust Jet (even if they don’t always agree with his actions—see Smellerbee & Longshot in Book 2), and he genuinely seems to care about them. For another thing, besides being, y’know, characters, they also serve as symbols of how Jet had to grow up too fast. Not only did he lose his parents at age 8, but now he has to be the parent to a group of lost children—and that’s a lot to put on a 16-year-old’s shoulders! One of many reasons why I am a Certified Jet Apologistā„¢ļø.
One difference I believe Hama and Jet have is that Jet has a redemption arc, such as it is. By the time we see him, along with Smellerbee and Longshot, in The Serpent’s Pass, he’s actively showing remorse for his actions in Gaipan and trying to move past them. Of course, his arc isn’t at all linear—as his rage and paranoia at Iroh and Zuko for being firebenders shows—and it’s debatable whether he actually completed it. (I say he did, and his death in Lake Laogai was its final step—this post expands on that idea a little more—whereas the other post linked above argues that he didn’t, since he never quite moved on from his idea that firebenders = evil and his motivations for entering Lake Laogai were corrupt. Maybe his death just cut his arc short and he could have gotten over his prejudices if given the chance… See how these questions are complex and nuanced and can’t be reduced to a simple question of ā€œis he good or badā€?) But the important thing is that the creators brought him back and expanded upon his role.
Meanwhile, to my knowledge, the last time we see Hama is that chilling last scene of The Puppetmaster. I wonder, had Hama been brought back at some point (I know there’s no logical place in Book 3 for it, but I’m speaking hypothetically) for an expanded role/redemption arc, even an incomplete one, what would that look like? Or am I being too optimistic—is bloodbending such a morally corrupt action that there’s no turning back from it, no possible redemption? Lots of interesting questions to discuss!
I hope you enjoyed this or at least found it coherent! Thank you again for the ask—I love talking about and analyzing ATLA. Okay, now I’m going to go listen to Master of Puppets by Metallica until I pass out.

Keep in mind that this might be inaccurate considering the information given is not canon, but from google. There will be no house readings since I can't even get a hold of his actual birth time so there is no rising sign (This is Eren's chart and how he would be if he were real, so don't take everything as factual)

Big 5 Analysis
- SUN IN ARIES. Your sun defines your ego, core identity, your authentic self and in my personal opinion it's not really an important placement in the chart, and more of a title basically. People born into Aries are usually perceived as loud, impulsive, raging and aggressive by others— but they're very caring and protective to the ones they love, though sometimes they sure can have bursts of anger. Eren is stubborn, he can't be chained down and refuses to sit back and watch the people he cares about get tossed around. He is a firm person, quick on his feet and rather very rushing, he's like a puppy excited to get his owner running laps around him, he's hyper and motivating; a natural leader. - MOON IN PISCES. Your moon is your emotional side, how you feel, how you perceive feelings and how you process them. Eren with moon in Pisces is definitely not surprising to me— He is dreamy, intuitive, compassionate and he's either too dependable on others or just an overthinker. Though he may not seem like it Eren is very vulnerable and even prone to getting addicted to substances (alcohol, drugs, bad habits etc.) It's not the best placement in my standpoint, as he can get very affected by his surroundings and others. He can't turn a blind eye and NOT take shit to heart and rather stores it inside and holds onto it. He's very empathetic, he feels people's emotions and feels them well, to the point that he himself experiences what they are going through. - MERCURY IN PISCES. Eren has a LOT of Pisces placements so prepare to see a ton of empathy and psychic abilities in his aspects. Your Mercury is how you think, speak and learn. I sense that Eren has really great vulnerability which might not be a good thing, he trusts people too much and rather relies on them for heaps of things, he can be easily manipulated which is why he should refrain from letting everyone in. On the other hand, he is a very dreamy person and gets lost in his imagination at times. He sees the world in another, imaginative lens, and often could find himself daydreaming randomly. I can see that Eren has a hard time letting go of the past and he can even be linked to people in his life he hadn't seen in years. In terms of rational thinking he isn't the best, as he can't distinguish the logical from the emotional which is definitely something he should work on, he gets often blinded by the illusion of his overwhelming emotions toward others. He can also definitely have an eye to art since his imagination is extravagantly wide.
- VENUS IN TAURUS. Your mercury is your idea of love and how you give it and prefer to receive it— Eren's idea of romance is full of sensuality and gifts, he'll spoil you with his utter loyalty and generally with things too. Devotion is daily, he's extremely honest and would rather die than lie to you. Emphasis on sensuality, Eren craves touch and I could sense that his love language is physical touch, he will shower you with affection and fulfill your needs any time of the day. Taurus in Venus are all about comfort and coziness with their lover, so I can see that Eren loves cuddling, massages, food, sleepovers, intimate little things like that strike a chord in his heart. He can be possessive and jealous of times, he hates change specifically big ones in relationships—He can also take a long time to get to know you and prefers taking things slow and steady rather than rushing into it. I can also feel that he loves hard-workers, people who are dedicated and responsible (that's definitely his type). - MARS IN CAPRICORN. Two words. Goal driven. Your Mars is your approach towards anger and impulses as well as your sexuality aspects. Eren is self-controlled and refuses to take orders from others, he can't be chained down not because he's stubborn, but simply because he can't allow himself to stop. He has a tendency to shut out the world to pursue his objective— he moves forward (not a pun) and is willing to fight against everything and everyone to reach his goal, he isn't petty as he considers little quarrels a waste of time and energy. He likes to focus on the big problem at hand, not how to fight and win the battle but how to prepare for conquering the war once and for all. Eren with this placement knows that he is entitled to earn what he works hard for and will not let anything stop him. Mars signs can also affect appearance so I sense that Eren has very prominent and broad cheekbones, a serious face, and a very stiff, steady voice like he's about to command something. It can also be an intimate, velvety and cold voice and on the topic of intimacy— He usually prefers seeing you face to face and rather dislikes social media flings. He comes with a natural inclination to assume a dominant role in bed and he does what doesn't bother him (kink-wise) His temper is so icy, and he could definitely be on the sadomasochism spectrum. He's very soft in nature so if something was bothering you he'd instantly be turned off. Eren can be aggressive and intense but he may not specifically get off on pain (or he may) more like he finds the idea of being in control a very satisfying idea.
š’š„š‚šŽššƒ šŽš…š…
2. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto Analysis
- JUPITER IN AQUARIUS. Your Jupiter is where you can receive the most luck and love, without you really doing much. It’s where you can catapult to happiness and success through quickest routes possible, within reason. I can tell from previous placements that Eren is a firm believer in standing for what you think is right. He is very opinionated and sometimes a bit too much— Some of his beliefs or theories can be brilliant and genius and others quite nonsensical and implausible, he rushes into throwing the first opinion just for the sake of throwing it first. Any analytical work about objective themes would come easily to him. Passion and enthusiasm will come astonishingly fast too as he can actually stun society with his innate knowledge with complicated subjects. Any scientific, technological, or perhaps just general abstract topics will benefit Eren greatly in subtle and/or unsubtle ways. He takes leaps of faith and believes what his eyes cannot see or what his mind cannot grasp. Simply what makes everything work out so well for him is the open minded love he puts into his theories. Sometimes though, he fears judgement people give to his methods as they are sometimes out of the box and peculiar. Eren would have to let go of his attachment to what other people think about his ways on solving or analyzing. - SATURN IN LIBRA. Your Saturn sign is your life’s obstacles and challenges, the rewards that come with time, and the discipline you need to achieve your goals. To start off with friendships, Eren cares about others and is tireless in serving others—he's also prone to putting others before him (others as in the people he cares about) And supporting his moon and mercury Pisces, he is very artistic and helps civilize those who need the lessons. The companionship he seeks can often give him solace and security, with his comrades support he feels a lot more powerful and in self-control. In relationships though Eren may tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to relationships and is afraid of rejection & may try to shut himself away or run if the going gets tough. He is very drawn to mentor types, and may often be with someone older and wiser. Despite that he still finds a way to assume the dominant role in the relationship due to his cold nature. Eren commits to artful projects, making it possible to live his dreams by seeing them to completion, he finds it very gratifying and has mental discipline when he finds activities that matches his high ideals. His sense of social justice is heightened, that could get him into law, politics and activism—His firm belief in himself also plays a big role in this, his bravery allows himself to sacrifice whatever he has to, to get the job done. Chaos, crassness, and ugliness can cause him a lot of anxiety and fear, and with his persistence to right the wrong he gets really frustrated when people don't have an outlook to life the same as his. I sense that it may be hard for Eren to accept that only he is able to control himself, and it's a hard pill for him to swallow.
- URANUS IN PISCES. As I mentioned before Eren's chart is dominated with Pisces placements, his intuition works at another wavelength than that of the common people, and for this reason, he is in a much deeper connection to the spirit world. He can sense the occult and this acts as a form of guidance for him, an anchor to support his meanderings through life’s challenges. Pair that up with his splendid imagination and innovative spirit, and you get someone who’s afraid of failure even when he’s not doing anything out of the ordinary, the worst thing that could happen to Eren is failing and losing his sense of validation. He’s a negativist ( I can see Eren as a cynical person later on in life, a realist would fit his philosophical belief) but, he should let his intuition and connection to the spirit world heal this part of his, instead of allowing everything to work against him. He won’t let himself be fooled by naĆÆve ideals, even though he likes believing in them. He can be quite realistic and logical when the situation calls for it and that's quite ironic considering he's indulged in his imagination most of the time. - NEPTUNE IN SAGITTARIUS. This is one hell of a placement. Experimentation with different beliefs, spiritual strands, and esoteric-based teachings are all things Eren finds interest in. He cannot deny the divine existence truly and indefinitely to himself- even if he does so to others, there is always the gnawing sense that ā€˜there is something more,’ and one day he may regret not finding out what that is. His gift is bringing the joy of shared faith and spirituality together, making the sect he resonates with part of his life’s philosophy. We can tell by now that Eren's purpose is seeking truth, absorbing information and looking at the world in a different lens. - PLUTO IN PISCES. Shawty Bae here can also can be more passive aggressive when trying to get what he wants. This means he can be manipulative at times. This is the only time he ever makes a power play. When he is struggling to achieve something for the greater good. (THIS ACTUALLY RESONATES WITH HIS PLAN) But this desire for control is never executed maliciously. He wants things to go his way so he doesn't disappoint those who are counting on him. Eren can be very sensitive, and it’s important to him that he doesn't let anyone down. He so desperately want to help people that he sometimes sacrifices his health and well being, and even somtimes the well being of others just for the outcome to turn out best.
š‹š€š’š“š‹š˜
3. Chiron (Scar)
- CHIRON IN PISCES. Your Chiron sign in astrology shows where you sustained your deepest wound, your scar— It can never be completely healed, but they can be worked with and transmuted. Eren with Chiron in Pisces, we've already talked about many Pisces qualities in him (empathy, psychic abilities, imagination etc.) But the Chiron has a lot more depth into it, Eren might have a deep fear of being hurt by the universe or the forces at play. He might feel that the world is unfair or merciless and doesn't have his back almost every time. He has a sense of betrayal, and that leads him into cynicism (mentioned before in his Uranus placement) He felt that nobody was there for him when he needed it the most and he also feels a sense of victimization. This placement has a lot to do with the idea of FATE. Even subconsciously Eren feels he was dealt an unfair life, I can also feel that his way of coping is feeling someones grief right alongside them. Sympathyzing is definitely his way of forgetting about his own problems. Even though Eren doesn't exactly victimize himself he still can't understand why the universe is set up this way— he feels that the world isn't fair to him and his loved ones. Although all this scarring shows when he indulges himself in an immense shell of cynicism, then he hops between two places; Not feeling empathy for others since nobody offered empathy to him - or sympathyzing greatly and putting others' needs before his. It is easy for him to shut his feelings out but only with the help of substances which makes him more prone to getting addicted. This placement was created at some point in the past when Eren needed something badly and didn’t get it (sometimes the wound stems from a past life, but this stemmed from his childhood) Maybe it's because he felt insignificant to someone he felt was an idol to him, maybe this figure or idol was never there to nurture him and the probability of him having a lost close one in early childhood days is a very probable cause in how this Chiron stemmed.
BONUS:
- I get massive ISFP vibes from early Eren and INTJ from late him.
- His Venus Taurus makes him very romantic, so I feel like this would be his favorite song to dance to

Hi šŸ¤— so I have this theory about Daniel and I’m really eager to know your opinion, of course only if you mind to share :) I also get these somehow off/off vibe from Daniel, I don’t really think he is as nice or chill as he shows. I’ve been thinking why he can’t really succeed this year (no doubt, he has talent) while Lando is just flying with the same car, and I think it is because he is absolutely no team player and bc of that he doesn’t fit in. Carlos and Lando had always shown respect, gratitude and honest appreciation for the team while I don’t see any of it from Danny Ric. F1 is not just about the athletes and their talent and about a good car in my opinion. And I think this is what Daniel gets wrong. I somehow have the feeling after some of his interviews, that he expects that a team works for him and not him working WITH THEM together. I think this is what really was different with Carlos, and that is why Lando is the absolut King of McLaren now. We got to see how a big family this team is and I’m kinda sad that Ricciardo just stands out.
Oh and I can’t finish without some Carlando šŸ™ˆ: I can’t help myself but imagine, how Carlos said to Lando, that from now on he should take care of the others at the Team bc Carlos was always so thoughtful of them (engineers should eat the food they were trying in Japan etc etc) and Lando just doing the maximum effort now, all the media stuff everything. Carlos taught his little Cabron well 🄺🄺
Of course I’m willing to share my opinion to that topic, especially when you ask so nicely, anonym 😊
I mean, first of all I’m not the biggest Daniel fan, I just don’t really like him or at least not that much like other – I think you have already known that before, anonym, but I even tho he is definitely not one my favourites, I don’t think that Daniel is someone who only pretends to be someone he actually isn’t. I think that the way he shows himself to the world or better what we are able to see from him, is real. I’m sure he is not always that big smiley, loud and funny guy, he also has other sides, but I really don’t think that it’s just an act. If so, he is a really good actor, since he is like that since the begging of his F1 career, I guess.
Going to Daniel’s missing success and performance this year – first, I actually still don’t know too much about F1 and all those things and knowledge that comes with it, so if you want to get a professional answer to your questions, you should better ask someone else, but of course I will still try, but remember it’s only my opinion/my thoughts and I really don’t say I’m right, it’s just what I have heard/read and what I’m thinking about this all here.
I mean, first of all Daniel is new in the team and it seems to be normal to struggle in the first time until you get to know the car better and you are able to understand it and handle it to finally get back to your old, performing self. I think Daniel and Seb are pretty similar at the moment. They still try to figure out everything, while their teammates are already used to the team and car. Lando and Lance already exactly know what to do to cause the car to make those moves they want or how far they can go with it, which the new ones still need to learn and find out. Obviously Carlos seems to be a little exception here.. (LUCKILY!)
So, I think that’s the first point why Daniel’s performance is how it is so far. The second point I think has been explained by Lando during the last press conference. I wasn’t aware of that before (like I have said – I focus more on the drivers, not on the sports itself), but it makes sense to me. Lando has said that Daniel maybe also struggles, because he is used to/prefers it to have a car, which is made for him. You know, what I mean? I’m pretty sure McLaren hasn’t made a complete new car just for Daniel when he has just joined the team and they hadn't known back then how he will perform, because they also had to think of Lando, the one who was already with them for two seasons and who will probably be their future. So it would have been first unfair from team to create a car only for Daniel’s skills (like F1 every cares about something being fair..) and if you ask me, it would also be stupid and very risky for them to do so, since he is the new driver in their team.
So Daniel has to live with it that he probably hasn’t got everything he has asked for and that’s why he is maybe still struggling with it. My boyfriend has already told me the same about Seb a few times, because he is the same like Daniel here (I think Lando has also mentioned that in the press conference). It really doesn’t make neither Daniel nor Seb a bad racer, even the contrary, because if they would have a car, which performs like they want, I think it would be pretty hard to beat them. It’s just the if, you know. Because they obviously don’t have that car, at least not at the moment.
But I guess that’s just the sport. Either you get what you want or you have to try to work with what you have got and I’m sure Daniel doesn’t like it how it is at the moment either, but he probably also can’t really help himself. He just has to keep going. It depends on him, how long he wants to try it and of course also the team (he has a three-year-contract or?).
But I’m sure that also the McLarens for the next few years won’t get built according to Daniel’s wishes, especially since we got to know about Lando’s new contract last week. If one of the McLaren drivers gets a car according to their skills, it will probably be Lando (if anyway), but I’m pretty sure it won’t be Daniel. I mean, think about it – it would make zero sense to give Lando not the best possible car, since he is performing the way he does so far. McLaren would only harm themselves with it and I think it wouldn’t bring them forward one bit. They just have to focus on the better driver and at the moment it is definitely Lando and not Daniel, even when he is more experienced and like many would say maybe also more talented.
I really also don’t know if I’m right here, but back in 2019 when Lando and Carlos have joined McLaren, they were both new in the team and maybe McLaren has found a compromise between the two of them and their wishes for the car and their skills. Maybe that’s why they have both been performing really great in those two years they have been teammates. They were on one level almost the whole time, their performances were always pretty close to each other, when not even similar, because the car was made for both, not only for one of them.
And like Lando has also said in the press conference, Carlos obviously is different compared to Daniel when it comes to that. Please, tell me if I’m wrong here again and it also kind of hurt me to say the following, but I think by now Carlos is already used to be the number two driver, to not be the team’s first choice. It definitely was so back in his Toro Rosso days and probably also at Renault. He had to take what he had got there and work with it. McLaren was different, if you ask me, there has never been a number one driver as long as Lando and Carlos had been teammates, or at least I haven’t been able to tell. But Carlos is definitely the number two at Ferrari once again right now, that’s out of question. And I actually don’t mean that in a bad kind of way – I mean, it’s obvious and actually also logical or? It would be the same as with McLaren – it would make zero sense to build the car around Carlos, their new driver, and not for Charles, who is already used to the car and who has also already won races for them. It would actually really be ridiculous if they would do so. Maybe that’s the reason why Carlos struggles less, because next to all the hard work he had already put into it (and I really don’t want to say here that Daniel or Seb aren’t hard workers), but maybe it’s really because he is already ā€œusedā€ to not have a car for his abilities and just trying to make the best out of his situation and the car he has got. You know what I mean?
Carlos and Daniel are pretty different when it comes to that and both types aren’t bad nor perfect. I mean, if Daniel should ever get the right car, he could become a world champion, but if he won’t get that soon, he probably also won’t ever become a world champion. And if Carlos should ever feel that comfortable in a car that isn’t made for him to even really become a world champion, then it’s pretty great for him, but I think the chances aren’t that big.. But he will be able to collect good points for the team, maybe even winning races in his career and be the best of the rest, but will it last to be the best in the end?! šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
So, but finally back to your actual ask, anonym – I really don’t know Daniel good enough to say if he is a team player or not. I think the biggest difference between Carlos’ relationship to Lando and Daniel’s to Lando is, that the two of them maybe don’t even have a relationship at all. They are probably only teammates and actually there is really nothing wrong about that, because in the end of the day, they only have to be teammates and no one should expect from them to become friends. Maybe that’s the reason why it maybe looks a little like Daniel isn’t a team player, but I think compared to what Carlos and Lando had, no one would look like a team player.
Daniel probably only does HIS job and not also Lando’s – I don’t mean that Carlos has done so, but I also can’t see Daniel staying in the garage to watch his teammate’s race after a DNF/DNS and support him or to even give him tips and share data (as long as McLaren doesn’t tell him to do so). Daniel’s job would have been done for that day, so he would probably don't see a reason why he should stay and ā€œbe thereā€ for his teammate. And again, it’s actually okay like that, because that’s what they are there for – racing, doing their jobs and nothing more.
I always say that I’m too soft for this sport and if you ask me, I would also say that it shouldn't just only be about money and who has the most, but yeah – that’s obviously how F1 works sadly.. Also, I could never be a racer, because I would probably instantly start a friendship with my teammate and I would probably also cry if I would hear said teammate swearing about me on the team radio – I’m just not made for it at all. But at the moment it really seems like F1 is all about money, even tho Lando and Carlos has also showed us, that it can be different (their friendship/teamwork) and that this difference can also work, but that doesn’t mean that every teammates have to get along that great, as long as it doesn’t harm the team and the results.
Lando and Daniel are doing what the team expects them to do – they are teammates. Not more, not less and it’s okay that way. What the fans have expected from the two of them is another thing. I know many have thought the two of them would get along easily and they probably even do, but not in the way the fans had hoped for.
Many had hoped that those McLaren challenges will go on like they had while Carlos was still with McLaren or maybe get even more, and funnier content, but it seems like the contrary is happening. And if I’m serious, I think that maybe Daniel has told them, that he isn’t willing to do some kind of challenges. I don’t want to say because of his age (Daniel is not a grandpa), but it’s a fact that Daniel is 10 years older than Lando. So maybe he really wants to only focus on his job and don’t do such challenges. I really don’t know if it had really happened like that, but maybe – who knows..
But yeah, Lando has really used his chance to show the team and everyone else what he is able to do, when he feels comfortable in the team and car and I’m really happy to see him succeed like that. He really deserves his seat in F1 and the new contract. I’m actually pretty proud of our bub 😊
Just give Daniel some more time to get used to the team and the car, who knows what will happen as soon as he has found his confidence at McLaren?! Even tho I hope at the same time, that Lando keeps that amazing performance, since I’m supporting him.
Oh, and yes of course – some Carlando!
I can so picture Carlos laying his hand in a brotherly way on top of Lando’s shoulder and telling him, on the day he had left the team ā€œYou belong to the big boys now, cabrón. You have to watch out for team and show them and everyone else your talent and what they would miss without you in F1. I’m sure you can do this. Take care of them and also of yourself.ā€
