Guys, if leftists are so miniscule that their voices aren't worth hearing during elections, then you can't blame them for every election loss.

Hades said at some point in my last run 'i should imprison you in Tartarus' (or something to that affect)
and like...BRO WHY HAVENT YOU DONE THAT??
Like wouldn't the easier thing to do is block up the bit Zag is escaping from? Or lock him in his room? Like bro there are several actions you could be taking here, why are you wasting so much time and energy on this😭
Fuck just put him on one of those child leashes and attach it to your desk at this point, it'd probably be much more effective then what you're currently doing.

A really underrated aspect to Ludinus plan is the exploitation of the god’s suppression of knowledge. The the thing that made sealing Predathos in the moon work so well the 1st time was the ignorance and superstition around it for so long, which lasted well beyond the divergence. We saw Judicators coming after the Grim Verity in this campaign! However, because of this, Ludinus had the upper hand the entire time because everyone was just scrambling to catch up to figure out shit he knew ages ago.
It’s a big reason why keeping it sealed now would likely not work very well, to say nothing of re-containing it having some horrible implications (it took the titans and a chunk of Exandria to do it last time!). Knowledge of it simply creates a much more unstable environment on Exandria, even if kept in Ruidius.
Really, Bell's Hells downfall here (and everyone's, even on a meta level) was getting so caught up in Ludinus' motives, not his means. Finding out the answers to the risks and possibilities with Predathos would've helped formulate a plan or give them more ideas on how to approach this instead of having to wait till the 11th hour once it was upon them.
Anyway, a quick fix would've been to ditch Keyleth and hang with Ebenold Kai more.

Moodboard for my fic ideas #1
Reader and Minho are both exchange students who struggle to fit in. Minho has a hard time with English, and reader is an introvert. They build a friendship and help each other out. Despite Minho’s parents wish to study abroad improving his English in hopes of getting into a top university one day, he secretly keeps practicing his one true passion - dancing. His biggest supporter? Reader.
"Do you ever dream of becoming like them?" I ask Minho, whose face was illuminated by the purple light of the BTS poster announcing their upcoming concert. He didn't even have to respond, i could see it in his eyes. This was his dream.

very fascinating to see that jhag’s essentially played himself out of uncontested first overall territory this past year because love and light for him i did not realize his stat line looked like…..that. or that he was almost little by hockey standards. i’m rooting for him though! genuinely!
I'm also rooting for him!!! he'll have a bounce back year. I believe!!!! <3
#no but I'll tell you what I told a friend like 2 days ago: I NEED someone who covered BC hockey to stand the fuck up and speak#MYE crackpot theory is his ranking is being tanked by everyone's fixation on him being an adequate replacement for Will Smith <- impossible#have you seen that stupid freshman line's stats their numbers looked like someone made a mistake entering the data....#the perception that he 'only did this much despite having 2 of the best players outside the nhl on his wing' feels... a lil thin...!#only managed to catch like 6 of their games in full this past season (was mainly watching DU) and caught glimpses of maybe half the others#I need someone who watched more than me to confirm this but. he didn't even center Leonard and Perreault for a bunch of the games no???#i have more time for the substantive observations from simon st-laurent re; his ability to make/take contact#or his way too fancy problem solving/passing. <- this ones a matter of perspective though. just blanket saying#'he didnt do as well as expected' is soo annoying to me </3 its technically true but is it precise. is it informative. does it say anything#like idk!! he couldve won a memorial cup with london this season. he couldve been blasting people in juniors and instead he chose college#fewer games but harder competition and more time to bulk up is how i understood the college vs juniors dynamic#which is all to say i love losing dogs and im really rooting for him to have a bounce back year#asks#anon

I've always thought about making one of those "Top 10 Video Games" lists, but I always get stuck on Pokémon, because like . . . obviously Pokémon has to be represented, because it is my favorite game franchise of all time. But I can't think of one Pokémon game to single out, because I love them all for different reasons. BW has the best story, but HGSS has my favorite region and a lot of features that I love, such as following pokémon. And meanwhile, I think that SwSh is the most fun to play of the modern games, and I love so much about its region and its characters and its music. I guess, gun to my head, I might say SoulSilver was my favorite? But it has been over a decade since I played it last, so I also feel like that might just be nostalgia talking. I don't know! It's hard! I can easily tell you what my favorite Zelda game is, but my favorite Pokémon game? Man, it's complicated.

Catching up with w359 daily with the season 2 finale and this time around I'm fixating on
MINKOWSKI Captain, please! We need to switch off the bomb's trigger right now. I need your help. LOVELACE I… help… please…
This is the only time I can remember Lovelace asking for help. She's fading, she's in a place that likely features in her nightmares with her worst enemy bending over her (Earlier she mumbles "No, not you" when Hilbert starts talking), someone else is asking her for something, and here, disoriented, in pain, dying, she finally loses the bravado and fury she's been wearing as her mask for the season. She just wants someone to help her. Please.

cant reblog that post about reading comprehension anymore but my addition would be: this is still an issue (source: in a teacher preparation program and many of my peers and students cant fucking read) and b) teachers are not taught how to correct these errors. In fact many times we are told /not/ to correct errors directly. Part of this is time— teachers cannot devote individual time to each student to ensure they understand everything they read (in order to avoid the ‘reading doesn’t mean understanding’ / making up a story by skimming issue), and also because many students struggle to handle emotionally being told You’re Wrong, and teachers are not always equipped to handle this. My first observation I was commended extensively by my coach for being able to tell a student she had misread a sentence and waiting until she reread it and told me what it meant (and because I had put the work in to teach these skills, this moment was productive and even empowering for this student, rather than a hit to her confidence). A terrifying amount of kids these days Cannot read in elementary school, go into middle and high school with the same exact struggles, and become adults and even teachers unable to self-correct errors because they have never been taught to recognize them. This is a huge issue of learned helplessness that spans multiple generations of schooling and I honestly have no clue how to fix it, besides pay teachers more and stick kids in front of a screen less (and give them books they actually want to read).

ya know you could always delete the tumblr app and force yourself to log into tumblr on an icognito window on a computer every time you want to use it. if you’re looking to decrease your screen time that is
I always use a web browser and log out 20% of the time 😭 (it does help though. When I’m logged out I often close the browser and take 15 more mins of something else (work, Instagram, etc.), then log in. So it’s 50% effective at stopping me, which >> 0%). Incognito to force a log-out every time I close the tab…might be a good idea, but I might “strip the screws” and dilute the effectiveness of my already-existing log-in delays.
Computer’s a little better than mobile because I set a 15 second delay, which is much easier to leave on than a straight block. Because once I’ve blocked myself, I just turn off the block.
Essentially, delays are effective, but the more I stack together, the more I become inclined to just do away with them all. Additionally, before I got a Tumblr account in 2023, I spent a similar amount of time on YouTube/Discord/Royalroad/all internet. Taking things out of the rotation will help, but it’ll be a long process of slowly distilling productivity into my day. Writing fanfic is a toss-up, because it’s creative and requires effort but also links back to fandom…so idk. I’ve adjusted my feeds to generally be either mutuals or slow-to-update pages, as well as cool science stuff.
It’s…not good habits. But I think someday you’ll see me join the ranks of rarely-posters, putting out 5k chapter fanfics and cool anecdotes about touching grass (running, church, academia, etc.)

Hi Pia! I was curious, as I understand, this story was written long time ago? Did you edit it with almost 10 years of practice on writing since 2014 now? And more in general, do you feel like writing is easier or not withos much practice (I read about smut, that it is harder now, but in general - worldbuilding, character creation and so on) ?
Hi hi anon!
Yeah the story was first drafted in 2014, and has gone through big edits since then (the latest being 2017, though I did some cursory stuff this year as well to just double check that it's not terrible).
Tbh, prior to 2014 I was writing like... very serious award winning short stories with tragic endings and winning awards for them, so I'm moderately confident the story is readable. I've been writing novels (for fun mostly) since 1995. And I have a university education in writing that started in 1999.
My fanfiction/serial style is very different to my 'I'm writing a book / I'm writing a short story' style.
I think it will feel different to my serials because I wrote it like a book, there's less sprawling character exploration, and the pacing is much, much tighter. There's a lot more focus on plot, and folks used to my serials might feel like the story ends really quickly! Because it's like much shorter (100k) than my serials.
If anything, I think these are the things to watch out for in Tradewinds:
100k novel means much tighter pacing and prose, and often very little time for too much character reflection.
Possibly not as much character exploration as people are used to from me (though there's still some!)
More plotting
Less smut, and the smut is also more 'vanilla' than what I normally write, because at the time I was a lot more wary about putting BDSM into the market. There are power dynamics though (i.e. a vibe where one character 'feels' more submissive to the other)
Robust scene-setting (i.e. description, place, anchoring)
Lively dialogue
I actually think I was probably a better literary writer back in the 00s but it wasn't much fun for me. I quit writing for a while and then picked it back up again to write fanfiction, which was easier and more relaxed for me. (And still is! The Ice Plague is an exception to that because it had more robust plotting and was structure more...formally.)
I honestly think writing gets easier or harder depending on the project and writing style involved.
Some writing gets easier with time, some doesn't. Sometimes that will flip or switch. Sometimes one thing is easy for years and then becomes harder with certain stories.
It was Gene Wolfe who said:
"You never learn how to write a novel. You just learn how to write the novel that you're writing."
And yeah, I tend to believe for the most part that's true with how hard or easy something is. How ambitious a project is, its genre, its length, its complexity can all play into that.
I pick easier projects as my main projects right now, but I have hard projects coming up too!
I would say overall writing does become "easier" in the sense that foundational skills become second nature (I know how to build a character and their dialogue now without thinking about it, and while there's always more to learn, I can now start in a place of just knowing how to do that instead of knowing I need to learn how to do that), but that the stories themselves will still pose unique challenges to a writer.
Er so TL;DR yes writing for me is easier but I'm choosing easier things to write, and sometimes it's still very hard!!!
