sorry if you’ve already answered this but I’ve been considering getting a corn snake for a long while now so I was wondering around how much it costs to get all the stuff for the tank set up and whatnot, as I can’t really find a concrete answer online :) many thanks!
Hi there! Corns are awesome snakes, I'm so excited that you're considering one!
The reason you haven't been able to find a concrete answer, I'm afraid, is because it will vary very heavily based on where you live, the choices you make, and what's available to you. Here's a cornsnake shopping list that might be helpful, and in general I recommend budgeting no less than about 300 USD for initial setup.
A breakdown of that (specific to the US but hopefully you'll get the idea):
Enclosure! The cost of this will vary wildly. Adult cornsnakes need an enclosure that's at least 4 feet long and ideally 4 feet high, and bigger is always better. For baby snakes, you might very well want a smaller enclosure. It all depends on how old the snake is and your preferences, but I recommend no smaller than a 20 gallon for even babies, and you should be aware that you will need to upgrade. Depending on where you look you could spend 50 dollars here, or you could spend 500.
Depending on where you get it and the style of enclosure you choose, you might need to buy the lid separately, and they can be surprisingly expensive (anywhere from 20-75 dollars depending on size).
Heat and lights plus necessary accessories! You'll need, at the absolute minimum, a lamp, a thermostat, and the bulb itself. Ceramic heat emitters are no-frills options that'll last a good long while but cost in the realm of 30-50 dollars depending on where you find them, you can expect to pay about 20-40 dollars for the dome, and thermostats are another area where you can buy a cheap option (I have a 20 dollar one linked in the shopping list!) or you can buy a thousand-dollar one.
Hides! You can go as expensive as you like here, but my honest recommendation is to buy a soldering iron (~15 dollars) and cut doors into plastic containers.
Substrate! This will depend on what you choose and the enclosure size. Corns are very versatile here and you have lots of options, pretty much anything they sell in the reptile aisle will work just fine.
Decor and clutter! Again, you could go as expensive as you like, but at minimum you'll want climbing branches and clutter to give your snake things to explore for encrichment and provide hiding spots. On a budget, things like cardboard tubes, crumpled paper towels, and sticks and branches taken from nature (sanitized first!) are great options.
The nice thing about snakes is that, once you've got the enclosure set up, you can expect to budget about 20 dollars a month at most to keep your snake fed. But the intial setup can be pricey! I recommend making out a shopping list and checking the websites of your local pet stores so you can plan your budget.

Hi, so I'm absolutely obsessed with your art and would buy one of everything you've ever made if I could. That being said, I have two questions: 1. Do you know of any other artists with art styles similar to yours? Either on Etsy or Tumblr, I would love to support other artists. 2. I know your commissions are currently closed, but do you have a price list or something anywhere for when they're back open? Once I have the money (and an idea) I would love to commission you when you open up again!
Hello and thank you so much for this ask!
So I will leave it up to you guys to determine whether the below artists are truly of a similar style, but these are ceramic artists that absolutely inspire me and I constantly am checking up on their work!
@kness
Simply adorable ceramics both handmade critters and just the most wonderful and whimsical illustrations on extremely well made pots of all kinds.
@a.mist.of.horses
They're not on Tumblr, but you can find them on Instagram, and have just the cutest freaking lil guys, so many adorable accessories with the guys, love them.
@lithopstudio
Same as a.mist.of.horses I just know them from insta, so many adorable and pristine little fellas often incorporated into lovely little dishes and was huge inspiration for me making dishes and putting guys on em.
Marie Claude Roch
So this artist has a focus on dolls and ceramics, and is entirely the inspiration behind my critters with little travel packs on the back. I found her art through Tumblr, though not sure if she actually has a Tumblr account? If you look at her Etsy reviews you can see her absolutely adorable traveler animals with their amazing accessories packed on their backs. She is also the only artist of this list of which I personally have purchased a ceramic friend (I'll make sure to reblog or edit in a pic of my guy, they're the best and keep my plants company).
As for the Commission part of this query, basically I don't have any info because I already struggle with pricing so much as it is, you can times that by five for doing custom work. As soon as I figure out pricing info, I promise I will post it up for people to peruse.

Cute Moments with Ateez
Ateez Masterlist                                                    Group Masterlist
Ask:  could you do cute moments with ateez???😋🩷
Hongjoong:
Tumblr media
It’s common practice for Hongjoong to admire you after you get ready to go out. Looking you up and down with a soft smile, holding your hand and asking you to do a spin for him. Hongjoong adores fashion, personalising clothes and unique accessories, so seeing your outfits he always knows just how to elevate them. Running to his room to grab you a jacket of his that would match well, or a necklace that suits your shirt. He loves sharing these things with you and you almost always have a piece of him with you through clothing/accessories.
Seonghwa:
Tumblr media
Animal Crossing is hands down Seonghwa’s favorite pass time aside from building legos. His switch was easy to bring on tour with him and it was just a cozy and comforting game. So it was no surprise when he asked you to come design a little part of his island with him, something to remind him of you when he’s far from home. So you sat together and designed a little part of his island together, frequently changing it a redesigning it together when new items are placed in the game. He really likes it because it’s such a fun way of spending time together, often with a nice warm drink and cozy blankets. Bonus points if you also have Animal crossing and have a Seonghwa section on your Island
Yunho:
Tumblr media
Yunho loves trying new games with you. The man is a gamer down to the core, be it board games or video games he absolutely adores them. He never buys a game without you in mind and while cozy games aren’t his cup of tea, if you like them he’ll get them all for you to play together. If it isn’t multiplayer it isn’t for him. He wants to lay down on his bed with you, playing video games with or against you at all hours. Even if you guys are apart, he’ll call you and you’ll play together from a distance. It’s always fun to him to try new games and figure them out, meet and make fun characters etc. He loves it so much.
Yeosang:
Tumblr media
When all of Ateez designed Hehetmon’s Yeosang couldn’t help but wonder what yours would look like. It was his signature thing after all, if you had one it would have been cute. So he asked you to design one and since then he had it made into a plush and a phone case design together with his hehetmon. He always personalizes thing with it for you, because he finds it so adorable. He also has the plush on his bed together with his own and he takes it with him on tour. Creating the hehetmon is just a sweet memory to him and every time he sees it, it reminds him of the fun time you had together.
San:
Tumblr media
One hobby is not enough, San is the type of person to enjoy trying anything for a hobby. Though he might be hesitant sometimes, he loves trying new hobbies with you. You want to take a ceramics class? Yes, he’s there. He saw a crochet video of a cute stuffed animal, he’s buying enough yarn so that you both can try. There’s an interesting work out class being advertised? Hell yeah, he’s signing you both up. He loves trying new things with you, so much. Especially the more cozy hobbies like crochet, coloring, or photography. It’s fun to him for you both to sit down together and do something fun.
Mingi:
Tumblr media
He’s not shy about his love for any type of music, especially however rock/alt bands. Mingi is a sucker for good music and some of the most least known bands have the best music. Something you two often do is go on a youtube/spotify/soundcloud deep dive, looking for new music and new bands to listen to. You guys can sit for hours, watching music videos, listening to albums and watching concert videos for artists you didn’t know existed until 10 minutes prior. It’s always so fun. You also make playlists for eachother when you’re apart, to fill eachother in on things you found when you weren’t together. It’s important time spent together.
Wooyoung:
Tumblr media
Wooyoung loved to cook. It filled him with so much joy but nothing filled him with more joy than people enjoying his food. Food is a way for people to come together and he loved that, but your opinion mattered most. IT wasn’t rare that the dorm would be full of the members and you, waiting for your meal and Wooyoung would run at you with a spoon or a fork. Ignoring all the other members and letting you taste his food first. If you said it was missing something, he’d figure it out. If you said it tasted perfect, he’d tell everyone the meal is served. He also runs at you enthousiastically as well, happy for you to taste it.
Jongho:
Tumblr media
It was ritual and something you both cherished deeply despite it being really mundane. Getting ready in the morning was Jongho’s favorite time of the day, standing next to you doing your hair as he brushes his teeth, or you showering as he does his skincare. Every now and then if one of you is still tired and groggy, you’ll eachother. Helping Jongho get his hair just right or him helping you put on moisturizer and sunscreen, but his favorite is when you’re both really awake. Making fun faces at eachother through the mirror and poking at eachother as your getting ready.
A/N: I hope this was what you wanted anon! I totally got carried away with this and managed to write it all in one sitting! I hope you guys enjoy and my requests are still open (check my bio and pinned post first though this might have changed by the time you see this) so please send me some!

moomin at barnes and noble usa! haul + extra info!
Tumblr media
i was lucky enough to live only about 30 minutes from a store with the moomin merchandise! the selection at the b&n near me was a lot smaller than other stores i’ve seen pictures of online (but you get used to that sort of thing when you live in middle of nowhere, michigan haha.)
the selection included many books (not all from the series), kids toys, stationary, accessories, dishes, etc! here’s what i got!
Tumblr media
in total, i spent $80ish-i actually think things were priced pretty well! buying merchandise from moominshop online and shipping it internationally to the us can be very expensive, so i was pretty pleased!
the most expensive i bought i believe was the tote bag for around $30. it is made of 100% recycled cotton and the print on it is absolutely beautiful and so vibrant! there were two tote bags options, but i chose this one because i love love love moomins on the riviera.
Tumblr media
my mom and i immediately fawned over the jewelry dish! it is so adorable! the hand-painted ceramic is incredibly stunning and the details on snorkmaiden’s hair and anklet are amazing. it was only $20 for such a beautiful, one of a kind piece!
Tumblr media
the coasters are another favorite find of mine! they had two different sets, but i decided on these two because i love the quotes! i also adore that the quotes have the book they’re from below the text! they costed $10 for the set of two!
this waterbottle is also absolutely gorgeous- it is thermal, so it keeps hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold! i was actually in the market for a new waterbottle, since my old one recently broke, and i love this! they had two different water bottles, both 500ml (a big step up from how tiny the arabia mugs are haha). it cost me $24.99 and i am so excited to bring it to college this autumn! :)
Tumblr media
there were many enamel pins- one for each character in the main cast (aside from sniff, sorry sniff) to choose from! i decided on the snufkin one since unfortunately there wasn’t any other merchandise at my location that focused on him, which was a tad disappointing because he is my favorite character (aside from ninny, who had absolutely no merchandise at all.) the pins cost $5 each!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i had so much fun on my barnes and noble moomin adventure! i even dressed up for it! (is this a face reveal??? lol)
all in all- it would be awesome to live in a state that had a bigger collection (CA and NY had the most) but i am beyond happy that i got the opportunity to buy moomin things in person!
thank you for reading! cheers! ❤️❤️❤️

Could you headcanons of hawk dating someone who likes Halloween
This is super later but here it is ✨️
Tumblr media
🎃 I would say Hawk likes Halloween a lot but potentially not as much as his girlfriend until they're together. She ramps up his enjoyment of the holiday and does everything he can to make it the best time of the year.
🎃 They talk about what Halloween costumes they're going to wear leading up to Halloween. They plan their costumes together and he's more than happy to match with her. He loves it so much more than he lets on. He'll splurg on any costume and accessories she wants.
🎃 Halloween decor galore ✨️ posters, fake bats, ceramic and spooky paperweights. He'll buy her anything so long as he thinks she'll like it and bring it to her that afternoon. Their apartment is chalk full of spooky decor and they love it. It stays out after Halloween too.
🎃 Halloween parties where he takes her out for s good time. Especially on Halloweekend. They're going out for all the fun, especially if he gets to show off her amazing costume and dance with her. He'll drink and get a little tipsy, which leads to a lot of ass grabbing because her costume is "so fucking hot."
🎃 Or nights in for scary movie marathons. From spooky and kooky to gory and bloody, they're having ghost shaped cookies and spooky popcorn. He'll go all out on Halloween drinks and other snacks for their movie night. And you know he's turning off all the lights and cuddling up to her on the couch - or a blanket fort he expertly crafted for them.
🎃 Actual Halloween night he finds a party for them to go to or they go out to look at Halloween decorations. If he's I a scary costume, he'll try to scare people just for fun. He'll also try to get them some candy, trick or treating and telling the people at the door that his little sister or his daughter were too tired to come up to the door. Some believe him, some don't.
🎃 Whether he scores some candy or not, he'll go to the store the next day and buy all the candy on sale. He fills their candy bowls at their apartment. He'll also grab any left over costume pieces and decor that's on sale now, bringing them home to his girlfriend who he knows will love all of it.

Wristwatches and Hand Kisses
A Lee Minho Fanfic
m.list
A/N: Comments are welcome :)
Characters: University Student Lee Minho X Female Reader, along with a certain wristwatch.
WC: 1.6k words
Genre: Fluff
Triggers/Warnings: Too much fluff
Swinging your hands together, you joyfully skipped along the busy street with your best friend and roommate, Lee Minho after a long and tiring week of university as well as long hours in your part-time job. Not that it was very eventful, but because it was normal. It was normal for the both of you to hold hands like it was no big deal to you. It was very normal to long to spend time with your best friend and roommate, because you were in love with him who, very conveniently, didn't believe in love.
Smiling so hard your cheeks hurt you kept walking and unbeknownst to you; Minho secretly stole glances at your giddy smile. He couldn’t help it, the yearning expression on his face. Yearning for what? He didn’t know, at-least not yet. Despite the occasional stares from people at your boisterous figures, you prodded along to find what you both had come for:
To find a gift for cupid. No, not the real guy, but the matchmaker/ best friend who had coincidentally introduced the both of you to each other. The legendary Han Jisung.  It was only proper that he be paid his respects, in the form of his birthday gift. And so, the both of you went searching to find something that would catch his eye.
About fifteen minutes later, you arrived at a small knick-knacks shop after finding “the gift”. Whilst paying, the shopkeeper asked you both if you’d like to check out the watches and without waiting for an answer, dramatically flourished around to reveal a secret rotating watch display.
 “Watches?”, you whisper-yelled.
Minho smiled, caressing your hand. He knew watches were your favourite accessories. Besides, looking down at your intertwined hands, he realized your hands looked a bit empty after losing your beloved former watch to damage. And by damage, he referred to the time you had carelessly broken into a dance while eating that one time, because your fries were so good. The dancing in question being so aggressive, that the loosely tied watch was sent flying out the café-window and that was the last that was ever seen of it. In your defence, the meal was too good to be eaten sitting still, but that was up for debate.
How you survived sometimes, and were still alive, the both of you hadn’t a clue.
Amidst all thoughts he was having about your watch, you were internally freaking out, all your thoughts about watches long gone. He was caressing your hand. Your hand. You were on fire, each caress of his thumb sending sparks up your arm. “I am a rock”, you thought to yourself. “I am a rock who feels nothing.” It didn’t work, unsurprisingly.
Meanwhile the shopkeeper was standing awkwardly in front of you both, unsure of what to do after trying to call your attention twice. Minho was the first to snap out of it, and pinched your arm.
“Ow, what was that for, you jerk?” you yelped, rubbing your arm. And here your heart was fluttering over him.
Rolling his eyes, he nudged you gently, “Pick a watch.”.
“I don’t-“ you started, but he shut you up as per usual. “I’m not asking dummy. Pick one”.
He had an annoying talent of being nice while managing to be mean. Huffing in annoyance, you let your eyes skim over the display.
The watches were of all kinds, surprisingly of a large variety for a small shop. You certainly didn’t mind. Your fingers gently brushed on the watches. Some were made of ceramic, others of painted metal. Some have metal clasps and others magnetic straps. You insisted that you were just looking, but Minho gave you a look that said, “You literally earn money Woman. I will buy it for you if you let me to. Gladly.” But you pointedly ignored that look and explored.
After begrudgingly agreeing that you’d get one, you selected one. A navy watch with a slim, wide face and magnetic straps. But you didn’t trust the magnetic straps and changed your choice, thrice (“I panicked!”, you replied after he shot you his deadpan expression) before finally settling on one. It was a silver hue, its face embedded with crystals. The interface of it was black too. “Perfect”, you thought. ”It’ll go well with any colour.” But the process of getting the watch was a tad bit more lengthened. Since your wrists were so thin, you had to get two of the chain’s clasps off for it to fit you.
Minho laughed maniacally while you struggled to secure the watch and not having it slide across to your forearm. Giving him a pointed look, you flailed helplessly until the shopkeeper kindly helped you out. After the shopkeeper finally adjusted it and put it on you, you beamed. Now all was left was to pay. But your beloved Minho would not let you. Claiming that you never gave him a chance to pay you back for all the meals you treated him to, he brought out his puppy eyes, the look you could never resist and you sighed, giving in.
After paying for your watch, the shopkeeper clasped the watch onto your wrist. Minho was glad he got to buy it for you. It was a watch you’d selected and he’d paid for. On all the days you’d spent together, you were insistent on paying for the both of you or, in the least, splitting the bill. So it was with surprise that you let him pay for you, that he paid for your watch. Meanwhile, you were internally berating yourself. “Seriously, that’s all it took for me to break?” you lamented. How he still did not know you were in love with him, you didn’t know. But you hoped to keep it that way.
Minho took it upon himself to initiate holding hands on the way back home. You were taken aback because he was never one to initiate affection first, even shied away from it sometimes. Slowly, like a butterfly perching on a newly-bloomed flower, a heartwarming realization settled in your chest. He was growing comfortable to be affectionate, he knew you wouldn’t judge him. Suddenly your heart was glowing as bright as a glass jar full of fireflies. Scared that if you broke the silence, the moment would cease to exist, you quietly revelled in it.
Minho was quite happy in the silence too. He realized how nice it was to be around you, even in silence. He remembered that song lyric, “There’s something more precious than words in our relationship”. He simply couldn’t stop smiling. Engrossed in each of your own worlds, you finally reached your magnificent abode (“Humble abode” was getting a bit old). “Ah! There’s nothing quite like going on home with your beloved after braving the day’s events” he relaxed. "Even if said beloved is oblivious about your infatuation?”, his brain quipped. “Oh Shut Up”, he thought to himself.
Breaking the silence he asked you “Are you not looking forward to the destination comrade?” he questioned dramatically.
You sighed again, “I would’ve, if you had let me pay. But anyway, the watch is so pretty, isn’t it?”. You coyly put your watch out on display to him, delighting in it like a starry-eyed child.
He found you adorable. Raising your hand, he seemed to inspect it before lowering your knuckles. “Everything looks good on you. But since you let me pay for it, it has come to my notice that the watch is quite magnificent. It suited you after all, didn’t it?” he raised a brow as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Getting flustered, you dragged him along so he couldn’t see your shy gaze.
Sometimes, when he made off handed comments like these, you didn't know whether you wanted to be only a friend to him. But a cliche never really gets old, does it?
After finally reaching home, your shared apartment, Minho immediately went into the kitchen to make dinner. You were extremely hungry. And so, you went to the kitchen and asked what you had to do, whilst trying to be helpful, trying. Sure, you wouldn’t burn down the kitchen, but nothing you made would be remotely edible either. Minho brought out an apron, something pink and filled with strawberries, and tied it to your waist. Your breath hitched at the proximity and the touch. The tension would've lingered if not for his next words.
“Welcome maiden, I now proclaim you the sous chef of this restaurant” he gave a deep bow and looked you straight in the face seemingly unaffected, unlike you.
You held your composure for an impressive sixty seconds before you burst out laughing. In moments like these, you got why you both were such close friends, despite the short time you’d known each other. You were both extremely dramatic. You couldn’t hold in your laughter for the life of you, especially if the Minho was saying all of that with a straight face. The Lee Minho whose glare could melt glaciers. Luckily, it was pushed aside in favour of making supper.
Minho was visibly sulking though, he was trying to get your attention and all you were thinking about was FOOD?
Noticing his expression, you nudged his shoulder. “What’s wrong?”.
He didn't even hesitate, “I'm entertaining you with my elite humour and all you think about is FOOD? You ungrateful brat”.
You weren't annoyed, it was him after all. He was the literal personification of a cat. “Well, I can't help that your cooking is so damn delicious now, can I?”, you grinned.
His eyes softened. Goddammit, he couldn't even pretend to be mad at you. Just what was this feeling? Suddenly you remembered you hadn't off your watch yet. “No, keep it on” he said. “For now” he finished, when he really meant “For Me”. The sight of your wrist adorned by your watch was too pretty to pass up.
“Okay” you agreed, not thinking too much.
The rest of the night was spent in stuffing your faces full with food and gleeful laughter, in the lovely vicinity of the moonlight.

Hexel's World Tour Week 6 – Seoul
Everyone, I'm home. I know it sounds so cliche, but the moment I got off the plane in Seoul, I felt like I was coming home🇰🇷❤️. I already knew I could speak Korean, so getting through the airport and to the main city was a breeze (but can we talk about Incheon airport? It is so cool. I could literally spend a whole day at just the airport). I quickly got to my hotel in the middle of Seoul and it is way too nice. I feel like an imposter staying here hahaha.
Tumblr media
There are some parts of the city that feel so familiar to me, even though I can't fully remember them. One day, I ended up just walking instinctively to this hole-in-the-wall kalgooksu restaurant and had the best noodle soup ever! 🍜(or I think it's the best I've ever had. It also felt so familiar!) Another place that felt super familiar was Dongdaemun and the Design Plaza. It kind of looks like a spaceship, but I knew exactly where to exit the subway station to get there. It was like instinct. The markets in Dongdaemun are so nice! They have so much fashion and accessories 👗 it was all so overwhelming. But I was able to buy gifts for Georgia while I was there
Talking about cool shops, I just wandered around Insadong for like half a day. There are so many side streets with cafes and small shops that you wouldn't even know were there unless you went to explore. From Insadong, I ended up walking to Bukchon traditional village. Both Insadong and Bukchon are known for their traditional hanok houses. And you all, I could LIVE in one of these. They're so beautiful and smell amazing like wood and paper! I found a place in one of these hanok houses called Aromind which lets you design your own perfume scent! It was so cool and I made one for Krista (hope she likes it!) 🎁
I also wrote down all the food places I loved to go with Dustin if we ever come to Seoul together, including this place that does bbq ribs DIPPED 🍖🧀 in melted cheese and a jjajangmyeon place that handrolls their noodles! I wanted to get Dustin a whole package of Hanwoo--prime Korean BBQ beef (did you know you could buy those?!)--but I was worried about getting it through customs, also, it was a lot to ship back to the US. So I got Dustin some green tea from Ossulloc 🍵, I know it's not technically food, but it's food adjacent! And their tea house in Gwanhun-Dong was so gorgeous with all the traditional ceramics and the little displays about how the teas are roasted! Plus, they're right by Jogyesa Buddhist Temple. They told me Jogyesa is the chief temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The building dates back to the late 14th century! And you can write your wish on a piece of paper and hang it like a little flag. All the wishes fluttering in the air were so beautiful!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't mean to organize my tour around Seoul based on buying the perfect gifts for my friends, but it turned out that way. So I knew I had to find something amazing for Mac, and I did in Gangnam! That neighborhood kind of reminds me of midtown New York with all the skyscrapers and the fancy hotels and buildings. They have the flagship store to this amazing sunglasses store called Gentle Monster. But they don't just sell sunglasses, they also have amazing art displays that the store clerk told me rotates regularly! In fact, lots of the cool high fashion stores do fun artsy displays in Seoul! From there, I just popped over to Lotte World Tower and bought ALL the duty free skincare! I can't wait to try all my facemasks with the band! Apparently Lotte World Tower is the tallest building in South Korea. And they even have an aquarium in there!

Everything You Need To Know About dry herb vapes usa
Everything You Need To Know About dry herb vapes usa
Dry herb vaporizers are ideal for new vaping cannabis smokers.    This article delves into dry herb vapes, what they are, how they work, and how to use them correctly.
Tumblr media
Do you want to experiment with cannabis vaping? Then a dry herb vaporizer is ideal for you. dry herb vapes usa as opposed to concentrate vapes, are designed to be used only with herbs, allowing you to enjoy all of the benefits of smoking cannabis without the smoke.
WHAT IS A DRY HERB VAPORIZER?
dry herb vapes usa work by heating and evaporating cannabis's cannabinoids and terpenes without combusting them. Furthermore, dry herb vaporizers, as the name implies, are only intended to vaporize unprocessed flowers and other plant matter. Meanwhile, "regular" vaporizers are typically designed to vaporize concentrates such as wax, shatter, crumble, or CO2 extracts (such as those found in vape pens).
Cannabinoids and terpenes are converted into vapor using conduction and/or convection heating in vaporizers.
Conduction vaporizers use heating elements to directly transfer heat to your weed.
Tumblr media
Consider how you cook an egg in a frying pan: the heat from your stove heats the pan, which then cooks the egg through direct contact.
Convection vaporizers, on the other hand, operate similarly to convection ovens by circulating hot air around your herb. They heat your cannabis gradually and evenly, allowing the compounds within to evaporate without combusting.
COMPREHENDING THE PARTS OF YOUR DRY HERB VAPE
• Battery: Most portable vaporizers require a battery to function. Many modern vapes use rechargeable lithium-ion batteries because they have a higher energy density, a slower rate of self-discharge than Ni-Cad or NiMH battery cells, and a variety of other advantages. Depending on the model, vape batteries can be fixed or removable.
• The chamber is where you store your herb. Stainless steel chambers were used in older vapes, but ceramic chambers are used in most modern devices because they heat up faster, retain heat better, and do not affect the flavor of your weed. Quartz chambers are also being used by some dry herb vape usa
manufacturers. Quartz chambers, while taking a little longer to heat, are the best at retaining the natural flavor of your weed.
Mouthpiece: The mouthpiece is where vapor from the chamber is drawn into your mouth. Vape mouthpieces vary greatly, so take your time to find one that works for you.   The most common mouthpieces are tapered or cylindrical. Although they are comfortable, their length can make inhaling a little more difficult. Flat mouthpieces do not have this issue, but they are less comfortable. Choose a vape with a glass mouthpiece over silicone or hard rubber pieces for maximum flavor.

My mother has gifted me a doll from her curio cabinet to be Grace's little sister. Grace is the doll I wrote about a couple days ago, and her little sister will be named Ruth. This doll was given to my maternal grandfather by an elderly lady acquaintance of his in the late 1960s or the 1970s because he was interested in antiques. Based on her drop-waist dress, I'd guess that she is from the 1920s or early 1930s.
Tumblr media
So Grace is from my dad's side of the family and this doll, Ruth, is from my mom's (although this doll's original owner wasn't in my family). I love that she has a small necklace and a tiny, tiny doll of her own.
Tumblr media
The dolls are similar in construction:
*bisque head that is open in back
*removeable eyes that hook to back of head - Ruth's clearly once worked as sleep-eyes
*wigs that have come to me separate from the head
*composition limbs
*Clothes that were fastened on permanently
Grace's body is papier maché; I'm not sure yet about Ruth's.
Unlike Grace's clothes, which are clearly homemade, Ruth's clothes came with the doll and seem storebought. Also Ruth is not jointed, so she can't sit.
I'm finding it odd that both dolls have an opening in the back of their head, plus a wig that doesn't stay on by itself. That seems like a weird thing to give a child who will be hugging and playing with the doll(?) It reminds me of the movie out in theaters now called 'The Creator' - I haven't seen it, but the ads freak me out because of the robot-kid not having a back of his head.
Updating per a response from desertdollranch: you can buy a thing called a "pate" which is cardboard, cloth, or cork and attaches to the ceramic head, and the wig can be attached to that.
Receiving my paternal grandmother's doll which was definitely from the Great Depression, and now the doll from my mom that seems to be from a similar time period, is sending me off to learn more about children's experiences in America in the mid 1930s. The dolls' names are from the Dear America book Survival in the Storm by Katelin Janke, based on interviews with women who'd grown up in the Panhandle of Texas in the Depression.

I went to some markets this morning and they were REAL they had actual artists and crafts people selling things they legit made with their own hands!!! Wool and wild silk dyed with leaves, hand carved wood tableware and ornaments (we love trees here sir), possum pelts and possum/merino knit clothes and accessories, ceramics (inc these LOVELY bangles), enamel jewellery, UGGs made here from sheep up the road, apples and berries from farms in the hills. Also artists selling oil paintings, photos, prints and my favourite- a lino artist with this absolutely gorgeous fairy wren print that I WILL be buying when I've saved up money.
Also, hot food and honey and stuff but I feel like most markets where I live are for food so I'm not as impressed

Alternatives to Buying That Statue for your Altar
One of the most popular things to put on your deity altar is a statue and for good reason! They can be beautiful and help evoke a closer connection to your deity. Maybe you have a pop culture deity or figure you worship or work with as well so you want to get a funkopop doll or action figure made by the company that's currently making works related to this figure?
Instead of purchasing something from a big corporation or from sites like amazon or temu here are some alternatives. Remember that it's always better to support a small creator than to purchase from a company. Are you working with "All Might" from Boku no Hero Academia? It's always going to be better to buy something from a small artist than to buy from Funko. And if you can't afford to support a small artist and you aren't handy/crafty, try to see if you can buy something second hand from
mercari
depop
facebook marketplace
poshmark
ebay and etsy (you'll have to make  sure the listing is for a secondhand item and not new)
goodwill
any local second hand store
If however you are crafty or you are willing to try and craft a statue for one of your deities, spirits, or any other figure you want here are some ideas for you:
Find a maker space or library in your area that let you 3d print and make a model or visit one of these sites to find a free model close to your deity
https://sketchfab.com/features/free-3d-models
https://www.thingiverse.com/
https://www.myminifactory.com/
https://cults3d.com/
https://thangs.com/designer/Thangs3D
Paper mache has a lot of potential if you don't want to invest in many materials and you're willing to have a less detailed a slightly bigger figure

https://youtu.be/ph76BVXqq_c?si=fOK8sR_DBgJ6xPo0
Polymer clay, air dry clay, and cold porcelain are all wonderful options if you're willing to learn some new techniques and invest in some specific materials. Polymer clay requires you to make the finished product in the oven, but most air dry clay and DIY cold porcelain clays do not need oven baking.

https://youtu.be/ToSZb_QU_G4?si=bLdzqxxQyUhnB03t (different armature)

https://www.youtube.com/@VanPham-vl6nu/videos (videos on sculpting faces)
https://youtu.be/tkrdH_pObJ8?si=8vkdUXABFFtfKZ3t (makes BJD from clay)
Sew a doll and dress the doll up in clothes that remind you of your chosen deity/spirit/figure and make or second-hand buy them small accessories that you think they would have (think a tiny bow and arrow for a hunting figure)
https://youtu.be/mA_pv5IIOsE?si=-gvTrPWiY38ADNK7 (doll pattern and construction, "baby doll" look)
https://youtu.be/l-ebQ5AD9uc?si=dx3ACj6M-4ByVlSq (more "realistic" doll with a wire frame)
https://youtu.be/fCWHAox-Vp8?si=esT-Lzxe9gz8WWIg (somewhere between "baby doll" and "realistic" with a more involved process for the hair)
Take a secondhand/old doll or action figure and use epoxy resin and paints to customize it. This is a deep rabbit hole of a craft for sure, and requires some safety measures and materials but you can do a lot with customizing dolls
https://www.youtube.com/@Dollightful/videos (mostly does female monster high doll transformations)
https://www.youtube.com/@HeXtian/videos (monster high and barbie, mix of realistic and cartoony)
Buy a ceramic statue at a secondhand store and paint it or dress it up! This obviously leaves less room for customization, but a little paint and some fitting clothes can do a lot to make you think of certain figures.
All of these are just for if you want to make a figure for your deity/spirit/figure. There's lots of other ways you can incorporate their image on your altar:
Paint a portrait of them or a landscape scene that feels the most like them
create a collage for them out of printed images/old magazines/old photos.
Create a diorama for them-- maybe it's a temple they were worshiped at or the place you see in your mind when you are with them
Embroider their most prominent symbol or even a portrait of them.
Make a string art portrait (most of these link websites or apps that generate the pattern for them, use your own discretion when deciding what apps to download or sites to visit)
https://youtu.be/UsbBSttaJos?si=I1zaDQps4OhjYdW8
https://youtu.be/GRMltMxEcmM?si=eshNWy86oaNbp2RH
https://youtu.be/qWc9gy1StLw?si=hUtfaXwEchiifLu3
https://youtu.be/jdnvIXyKF7E?si=8FiHbIqTyj1I_mpm
All this to say that you can make the act of creating something for your deity into a devotional one. Maybe in the crafting process you also spark an interest in learning more about the materials you used, or you realize you want to do this for other people too. Maybe it just gives you more of an appreciation for artists who use these materials and have their own shops so you save up to support them.
