my PERSONAL devil’s minion tinfoil theory is that armand has been stalking daniel in the shadows for years as a hobby, dropping in a different points in his life, interacting with him, then wiping his mind before doing it all again in a brand new disguise.

as a quaint alternative to louis, watching over danny from a fond distance, armand obsessively stalks him out of fascinated jealousy that turns over time into a reluctant affection. as opposed the an ever present song in daniel ‘s mind, armand could be ever present disorientation and dissatisfaction to parallel louis and armand’s predictions.

i ALSO think this could be why armand did the whole rashid disguise. like. if he’s been dropping in on daniel life in groucho marks classes like the evil theater kid he is for years, he probably assumed he could keep tabs on the interview this way without his real personality/eyes triggering daniel’s repressed memories of 1973. but then of course his hand is forced and he’s pulling a hail mary by directly influencing the narrative.

i ALSO ALSO think this is where the alice stuff comes in. like daniel DID spend time with alice in paris he DID eat that strawberry dessert thing with her she DID dye her eyebrow brown but he preferred it half blond. she is his real wife.

but maybe, during that time in paris, he struck up an acquaintance with an armand with brown contacts in still trying to figure out what makes him fascinating.

You know what could've been an interesting storyline for Shadow in Xiaolin Chronicles?

Instead of making Chase her creator, they could've brought back Hannibal and have his obsession of controlling Chase be the reason why Shadow exists.

Have him sneakily take a piece of Chase's hair or something and use his Heylin demon magic to create Shadow, and manipulate her into being his obedient servant — just like he would've with Chase Young.

And as the show progresses, Shadow would question her entire existence as being "a clone of her mentor's cherished enemy" and try to be break free from Hannibal's grasp and learn to be her own person (maybe with the help of Kimiko too).

Here it is: the big guns. The magnum opus of this series. The fic that started it all and is also somehow the one I've most recently updated. The holy grail slow-burn poly-shipping mutual-pining Soulmate AU and the longest fic in this series by a long shot (if only due to the fact that I stopped updating the Ziggy/Scott one, and even that was not a slow burn). I left y'all on tenterhooks for MONTHS as I updated this thing and whenever I want inspiration for writing slow-burns I come back to this fic. It meant so much to get to write asexual Riley and his soulmates' supportive reactions as well as Kaylee's aromantic journey, too!

Also, apparently it's the most kudosed one in the Dino Charge fandom? And the second-most viewed? So thank y'all so much! Once again, I cannot believe that these passion project rarepair fics have spoken so well to the good people of the power rangers fandom. I started this series when I was eighteen (I wrote the vast majority of it at eighteen) and a freshman in college and I got so much joy from writing all of these traumatized idiots sitting within stories that were just begging for a bit of tweaking/exploring. Thank you all so much for coming along this journey with me over the years- it means more than I can say!
