Majority of people that like Harry Crow are people that like over-the-top crack fics and goblin lore. How the author writes Harry and Hermione is what gets most criticism

Why is necessary to hate on Harry to lift Ron up?

If you need to do that, you should probably realize that Ron's not that great.

Go tell this to harmony shippers who bash Ron(and Ginny) like their life depends on it and made a whole trope about Ron hate 'Ron the deatheater tv trope'. Wrote fanfics 1001 ways to kill Ginny Weasley. Their most popular fanfic Harry Crow bashed an 11 year old Ron.

Juulna's 2022 reading stats - fics and books too!

Wow, so many statistics and so little time! Let's see... what are the most pertinent and interesting ones...? Thanks to the @fanfic-reading-challenge I got to read some pretty interesting things this year! The new one starts soon. :D

How many books did I read?

177, wow! My goal had been to read 100 (you can set a goal for yourself and keep track on Goodreads, which is awesome) so I definitely surpassed that. I used HowLongToRead to get an approximation of how many words I read in books, and it totalled 16,700,982 words. Nearly 17 million! It's actually more than my total in fics, hah.

Heck yeah I do! These books were amazing and had me reading any sequels I could, ASAP. For those with a limited budget, check out this free online library, Library Genesis, or your own library's resources!

Now let's talk about fanfiction...

In total, I read 15,832,562 words, 4,017 chapters, and 589 fics. That works out to about 26,880 words per fic on average. But what's the monthly breakdown of all that? Some of those words, chapters, and fics are ones I did not finish (yet), but I did count as finished those WiPs which I'd caught up with.

The least I read in a month was 470,293 words in April, with 22 fics read. Not even sure what was going on with me back then. The most I read in a month is actually December! I attribute that to me finishing off or at least reading as much as I can of some long fics on the back burner. Also, there were a lot of WiPs which had updates in December, and fics I'd been reading a little at a time month after month, which I finally completed. So yeah, I read 2,030,497 words in December, fairly closely followed by October. Pretty sure I was just drowning out the lack of light these last few months. :P 7/12 months I read more than a million words, and 4/12 months were over 1.5 million, plus those labelled incomplete for both those stats.

I read 137 different romantic pairings which were the main relationship(s) of the fic. I also read 49 distinct fandoms. I definitely dug into my past and some of my favourites from when I was a kid! It was quite neat, actually!

CatsAreCool (Rachel500) is a wonderful author that offers changes in the HP universe that introduces wizarding political intrigue, family magic, and appropriate outrage the the Dudley’s treatment of Harry. Additionally, they caused me to have a major crush on Bill Weasley, so I may never forgive them.  Extra points for a chosen family, with Remus and Dobby and Minnie *tears.* 

Starring:  Lord Black Aunt Minnie Godbrother Neville. Love interest Hermione.  Well-intentioned&tryinghisbest Ron. Coolassh*t Bill Steward Remus  Chessmaster Dumbledore (ooooo) I love it so much.  

As of 12/6/2020, I’m about halfway done, and I would recommend rn.  Though, I have a passing fear that family magic with come swooping in to save the day at the end; however, CatsAreCool is alluding to a price that comes with its use, which keeps the story compelling.

@grimalkenkid is someone I read fics first and then followed without realizing that they were the same person. If you need anything for your Jekyll/Hyde fix in FGO, she is the one to go to!

@i-mushi revived all my faith that a GIME story for LotR can actually be good and make me want more. I also am so fortunate that she took the time to answer a nagging question that didn’t seem big but I wanted to know about during a rough patch in my life. I love her dearly!

@ashforge probably writes some of the hottest lesbian porn for FGO I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. And she’s talented enough that I have no shame in admitting that. If I could ever get to half of her level as a writer, I’ll be blessed.

@linddzz is THE person to go to for my Bagginshield fix. I have rearead her A Cultural Misunderstanding series enough times that I’m getting to the point that I might be able to recite it from memory. If you haven’t read it, GO READ.

Eresse (fanfiction.net ) is one of the best if you’re looking for epics of the slash persuasion in the Lord of the Rings fandom. I’ve been reading her works since I was a young one and my love for her has only grown through the years. 

silverr (ao3) was the very first author for Saint Seiya that I found and through her found my OTP. She is incredibly talented and if I ever get into her other fandoms, I’m sure I’ll be reading those works as well!

CatsAreCool/Rachel500/TrekCat (ao3) is a master of taking a well known trope or cliche and making it unique and interesting again. A Marauder’s Plan is probably one of the best HP fanfics period and I will always admire the skill put into it!

So like fun fact about me I found out in my junior year of highschool that I can use the speak screen accessibility option on my phone to have Siri read fanfiction to me like an audiobook and since I hyper fixate on fanfiction pretty often it’s a feature with which I am well acquainted. So anyway I was listening to this one by cheshire_carrol over on ao3 titled anti-heroine and basically it’s about rouge street urchin slytherin hermione and slytherin Harry Potter and by FUCKING GOD it’s the best fic I’ve read in a hOT FUCKING SECOND my last favorite one was A Marauders Plan by CatsAreCool (Rachel500) and this one has dethroned that. I am in love with how snape is written as overtly protective of both hermione and Harry. I love the take on Gryffindor prejudice. I love the truama the dark shit. I just it’s a very good dark fic and I love me some good fucking dark fantasy. It is a dream come true.

This story follows two, parallel timelines. In the first, Hermione struggles to find her place in a world built by a different version of herself. In the other, George traverses before, during, and after the Wizarding War, finding himself more and more drawn to the most dedicated witch he knows. Too bad she's in love with his brother.
