Celestial events in September
In September, there are several interesting celestial events to look forward to, including:
1. **Full Harvest Moon**: The Full Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. It usually occurs in September, and this year, it falls on September 20, 2023. It's named the "Harvest Moon" because it traditionally provided extra light for farmers to gather their crops.
2. **Autumnal Equinox**: On September 23, 2023, the autumnal equinox marks the first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. It's the moment when day and night are roughly equal in length, and it's a great time to observe the changing angle of the Sun in the sky.
3. **Mars and Venus**: Throughout September, you can observe Mars and Venus in the evening sky. Look westward after sunset, and you should be able to spot these two bright planets.
4. **Jupiter and Saturn**: In the early evening, you can also see Jupiter and Saturn in the southeastern sky. They will be prominent throughout September.
5. **Meteor Showers**: The September Perseid meteor shower, which peaks around September 9-10, may offer some shooting stars. While not as famous as the August Perseids, it's still worth looking out for.
6. **Planetary Conjunction**: Towards the end of September, there will be a close conjunction between Venus and Jupiter on September 29, 2023. They will appear very close in the evening sky, creating a beautiful celestial sight.
Remember to check local stargazing conditions, as factors like light pollution and weather can affect your ability to observe these events. If possible, use a telescope or binoculars for a closer view, and enjoy the wonders of the night sky in September.

Dresden Codex
Tumblr media
The ancient Maya were adept astronomers who could predict solar eclipses with great accuracy.
They used a complex system of calendars to track celestial events, including solar eclipses.
The Dresden Codex, one of the few surviving pre-Columbian Maya books, contains tables that are thought to be used for predicting solar eclipses.

The Full Moon September 17, 2024
on the full moon this tuesday there will be an eclipse over the full moon.
this lunar eclipse will make the full moon extra radiant and will harshen its effects.
this eclipse is also the climax to the eclipse that happened back in april, bringing in the end of something in your life
due to the full moon being in pisces this is a good time to ground yourself in creative works and don’t let your emotions take control of you.
this full moon in pisces is also the 2/3 super full moons in a row, so this one will be a doozy for sure.
good luck out there and keep yourself grounded! i’ll update if i hear anything else from the stratosphere!

Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas
In case you didn’t know, there’s a comet passing by earth currently that is visible shortly after sunset (even with just the naked eye)! This comet just survived its pass by the sun and is now heading out deep into the cosmos so it’ll dim a little each day as it gets further away.
This is a shot I got just last night (10/12/24) over the ocean shortly before it set!

You may have heard the saying, "when the stars align," once or twice in your life, but did you know that the planets aligning is a real thing that happens? The celestial event is a notable one, mostly because we'll never see all eight planets align in our lifetime.
That doesn't mean that the majority of the planets can't put up a pretty good effort to come together. So, when will the planets align in 2025? You'll have to keep reading to find out and to learn what that rare sight could mean for your cosmic and spiritual life.

True. And this isn't the only example of this or the belief - eclipses have long been associated with godly intervention, events, even doorways to another world, which looking at this, it's not hard to imagine why.
That's a hobbit hole door in the sky!
Eclipses are spoopy
