The Mario movie thing is so funny to me. Here, look at this:

Sonic movies (1, 2, & w/ 3 on the way) come out, does INCREDIBLE in box office, decimates Marvel films, who previously had a stranglehold

Nintendo sees this, wants a piece of that pie, buckles down to make a Mario movie Incorrect order of events, as pointed out here! Mario movie announced before the public knew about Sonic movie.

(Potentially because the previous Mario movie was so out there, did poorly, & was disliked by fans & then promptly forgotten,) they pair with Illumination, a studio that is largely known for making very sterile films

Btw, is it just me that finds it weird that there is no mention from Nintendo or online of the previous movie, in all this? Maybe I'm the only one who remembers this film idk

when i think of future careers for lucas the first thing that always comes to mind is the military. not because that’s what i want for him, but because his idea of it aligns so strongly with his morals. since season one a fairly prevalent part of lucas’ character had to do with his idealization of his veteran father. more than any of the other party members he was willing to step up for combat. his wrist rocket may seen a little childish but he did save lives with that thing and he knew it. and after season four, he no doubt now has guilt over “failing” max. like if he couldn’t be the hero for her, he needs to be the hero for someone. BUT this all to say lucas would not like the military. it doesn’t align with his moral code. he wouldn’t like what they’re fighting for or the way they’re fighting for it. he’d see the people around him talk about killing like they are twelve year olds with a hero complex and a wrist rocket, or playing a video game, like none of this was real. he knows how death effects people, he’s had someone die in his arms, he doesn’t believe in useless killing, he doesn’t want to blood of innocent bystanders or even enemy’s on his hands. war would not make him feel like a hero, he’d hate it, it’d take him back to every other traumatizing moment of his life. this also applies to lucas becoming a cop, another “hero career.” lucas actually wants to help people, not just be told he’s a hero, it needs to mean something. giving people parking tickets, watching his coworkers kill innocents and funding the prison industrial complex would not do anything for him. i feel like lucas would ultimately gravitate to something that’s helpful in a more personal way, like a high paying stem career that allows him a lot of time and money to give away, working as a therapist, or even a teacher like mr clark who has a very strong bond with kids that are bullied or feel out of place. he’s a good guy

Can’t get rid of the thought that Erik resented the helmet the second he put it on. Up until that moment Charles was there with him, all that time, and then suddenly--nothing. He put on the helmet because he was afraid that Charles would’ve stopped him otherwise, and he couldn’t let him; but if he truly believed that Charles could do it, had enough power to spare while still holding Shaw in place, don’t you think, by his own logic, Charles would’ve also had enough power to sense Erik’s intention to take the helmet, could’ve stopped him before that? How many times Erik had to tell himself that the only reason Charles didn't stop him from putting it on in the first place was because holding Shaw was already taking too much from him? Because believing otherwise, that Charles would’ve never used his power against him, would’ve meant admitting that Charles put that much more trust in him than he trusted Charles--

And that’s just it. He’s not afraid that Charles would take over him if he takes off the helmet now; he’s afraid that this empty space where Charles was before would remain just that. Empty. That Charles wouldn’t want anything to do with him now. As long as the helmet stays, he can pretend that Charles would still reach out, but on top of everything else that just happened -- he can’t stand finding out if he’s right or wrong. Especially after Charles rejects him verbally.

Regarding this post, I'm not sure if someone had told you already, but Mario has actually spoken Spanish before! I could be wrong, but I believe that's actually Charles Martinet's native language :)

There's a Mario Golf commercial in Spanish that has Martinet speaking in the language. So canonically, Mario would be able to speak to you and understand you in Spanish!

Oh my, I didn't know!!! 😭😭😭 Actually, I kinda remember hearing that Charles Martinet did live in my country? But you know, since I'm totally used to hearing him speaking English and Italian, that information kinda... left my brain? 😅

I just checked and he moved to Barcelona when he was 12 and spent a few years there with his family, so you're right! He can totally speak my language, OMG this makes me so happy!!! 😭😭😭

And the commercial has truly made me cry. I had never seen it and hearing him speaking my language is just. Too much 😭😭😭
