Saw a post talking about the coffee and how it was a manipulation tactic geared perfectly to Aziraphale and. That got me wondering. When the Metatron GOT the coffee. . . he asked Nina ‘does anybody ever choose death?’, with regard to the name of the shop of course, but. . .

Was. Was the alternative to Aziraphale taking the coffee (and therefore the job offer). . . death?

He is a rogue angel after all. Thwarted the apocalypse with the help of a DEMON, refused to hand over the fugitive ARCHANGEL he was harboring, consistently bending and breaking the rules where it best suits him (and his concern for humanity). It’d be in Heaven’s best interest to keep him in check.

And? Has? Anyone actually? Heard from God (from the ‘mouth’ of God and not the ‘Mouth of God’/the Metatron) since biblical times? Outside of us as the viewers, since they narrated the first season, at least?

Idk I could be way off base but. I wonder if. Crowley and Aziraphale are. PART of the Ineffable Plan? Just. Maybe to different ends for Heaven/the Metatron and God? So Heaven/the Metatron are trying to do one thing with them and God is trying to do another? I feel like the person most likely to SPEAK to God the next season is Crowley, and then it’ll all come out like it did with Gabriel. Crowley was the last person Heaven would have expected to get into Gabriel’s file so it would make sense that he gets to surprise/confuse them again, right?

on first impressions, people are afraid of Brother and people are afraid of Sanctuary but they're afraid of Sanctuary because they're worried about organ harvesting and they're afraid of Brother because they're worried about making a fool of themselves in front of her

everything about her says "do not fuck with me" but in a different way than say, David's presence says "do not fuck with me" - David carries himself and his weapons with such casual confidence that you know he could lay you out flat and he wouldn't even think about it later. he's a son of Night City. you'd have to be really good or really stupid to come at the flesh and blood of the street. Brother gives off more of a vibe of... I never bluff. I won't give you a warning if you cross me, and no one will remember you. after all, a girl doesn't get to sit in the back booths of the Afterlife without being scary good at what she does.

that's all impressions though. strangers often find Sanctuary off-putting, but their friends know they're funny and loyal and they just want to be given a chance without judgment, David is unflappable to those who don't know how much pain he's in all the time and just how much regret and fear weigh him down, most people see Brother the statuesque netrunner in the Afterlife and not soft-spoken, shy, devoted Bea on the outskirts of Night City with the man she loves, with an old photo of her brother finally framed on her desk, creaselines still visible under the glass because she couldn't bring herself to look at it for years

that's not to say there isn't truth to surface impressions. Sanctuary has done a lot of bad things to people and while they regret that they hurt their family as a Scav they don't regret the things they did; David can, will, and has put many a motherfucker in their place with his strength even as his head throbs and his vision flickers with old ghosts; Brother is brutally efficient and thorough in her work and there's good reason to fear her callsign out there in the net, but she doesn't take any particular joy in that.

anyway, the point of it all is that you can never really be sure that you know the truth of anything in Night City. being certain is a blessing granted by the people around you. tread carefully.

1.035 - Return the family the photo, go to bed

Chie returns the photo to the album, closes it, and sets the room back to rights. The house is dark when she exits. Tip-toeing, she heads back to the guest room, wincing as she steps on creaky floorboards. Maybe Jethro won't realize she was snoop- admiring his storage boxes.

Going through her nightly routine is familiar enough that her mind wanders. Unfortunately, it only chases the questions running circles around her. Jewelry, monsters, Jethro's behavior. As desperately as she tries to find some sort of answer, the only thing that keeps popping up in her mind is the Pepe Silvia meme. Except Charlie Day is a twisted, bloated monster, bending over backwards, arms thrown up ecstatically as he garbles out unintelligible nonsense about the mail. Chie rubs her head. Sleep. She needs sleep.

Sct. Sc-scrrt. Tap. Tap tap.

Chie freezes, eyes slowly traveling to the window. Is it trying to get in? A small part of Chie desperately wants to believe this is a cat or a big moth. But she doubts any animal would survive living with those monsters.

Taking a deep breath, Chie grabs the pocket knife from her purse. Then she approaches the window, stopping just to the right of it. Heavy curtains obscure the glass, and she's glad she can't see what's out there.

Chie's hand shakes. “Hey,” she whispers sharply. The scratching stops. Is that good? Bad? “I'm not going anywhere. So… so go away.” She pauses. “Please.”

Silence. Blissful silence.

Then the scratching continues. Chie frowns. Perhaps the wall between them gives her courage. Perhaps it's knowing if it smashes through, she can protect herself with her knife. Whatever it is, Chie says, “If you can understand me, tap twice.”

The scratching continues in no discernable pattern. Will she have to spend the night like this? So obviously being watched? Chie shudders. The bed, which had been inviting earlier, now looks like a trap. But her eyes are heavy and thinking feels like slogging through thick mud. She needs to sleep.

wind beneath my wings IMMEDIATELY sprang to mind, of course, but im sooo soft for the gang just sitting around the bar singing together. like at the end of the gang goes jihad or in the gang gets quarantined...it's about the friendship, baby! it just really shows how much they enjoy each others company and how much fun they really have together, even though most of their on-screen interactions depict a group of people subjecting each other to psychological horrors beyond human comprehension

this is impossible to pick. but i do find myself going "twOoOoO waRrRs?!" a lot. pepe silvia charlie day dot jpeg is a staple reaction image. i mentally picture dennis throwing the mac and cheese plate in the hallway whenever someone hands me something i don't want to be holding. my wife and i, instead of saying no to each other like normal people, go NO! NO! NO! NO! like mac does to carmen in mac fights gay marriage. iasip isn't just a meme mom its a way of life ok

17 - what is it about the show that hooked you?

i was introduced to iasip at a very dark time in my life and it was just. So Nice. to watch in the throes of despair because it's so off the wall funny and impossible not to laugh out loud at, but also because i'm not jealous of these people's lives. yeah sure sometimes it makes me want more friends but they aren't living successful dream lives in some magical city where love is around every corner they are losers who are trapped in a hell of their own making. it's like commiserating: the show. plus, you can rotate the characters around in your head like a microwave due to their various and sundry traumas, ailments, and defects, which gives a nice distraction from the horrors

19 - if you had the skill/talent/time to create any content you wanted, what would you want to make?

i want to finish all my fic wips :((( i love mac and dennis and if you guys could read my crack bender fic you would LOVE IT i swear and it's all written inside my stupid baka head i just can't get it to come out right on the page. also i'd love to learn how to make video edits, i have so many good ideas but no time/energy to figure out how to edit videos on this laptop </3

i would also write more meta posts. but my job breaks my brain. i don't want to doxx myself but i work in a caring profession and after being "on" all day for clients i find it really hard to put my whole brain-ussy into psychoanalyzing characters EVEN THOUGH I REALLY WANT TO

I tell myself I am free to be silly and that includes feeling good about posting another ramble from my google docs

So anyway aside from Mario, I am also really into BATIM and when BATDR came out I lost my mind. Like 2017 me came crawling back from the depths of my mind and binge-watched Superhorrorbro Mike's gameplay when it came out. Distinctly remember having to pause at the biggest plot twist and just pace around my senior studio, rambling like a madman. (Little did I know someone was right outside the door, so whoever heard all that um no you didn't)

(From 9 Dec 2022) (Disclaimer: this is pure brainrot I guess but if you manage to read all this thanks so much! I get insecure about it, but I also really want to share my ramblings in the hopes of someone getting it so yeah)

Shut up I’m still thinking about Audrey, I have thoughts and questions like did she start out as a baby? How long did she even get to grow up with Joey before he died? If her story starts in 1973, and the first game was in 1963, and she has to be in like her early twenties, and Joey died in 1971, then what? That’s two years! Had she always known and just forgot when she entered the machine? Did he put her in an orphanage when she was little? And how did she even end up at Archgate? 

   Maybe she did get to grow up with her father and forgot when she entered the machine and she rediscovers the book with his notes, not understanding its true meaning. Nathan had promised to look after her, which is why she’s an animator at Archgate. She probably told him what happened to his son and after the damage the machine did, it hit the news and Gent got word and secretly took it away.

   Come to think of it, Allison works at Archgate, so maybe Audrey later realizes Allison Connor and Allison Pendle are the same.

   ALSO! Audrey didn’t recognize Henry, but she has the drawing he gave to Joey, so what? Does she put two and two together later on? Did she never get to meet the real him? Did Joey never talk about him? 

   THEORY TIME: There’s also the whole “uncle” thing. I feel like, bear with me here I promise, Audrey’s somehow connected to Henry. Think about it! She’s a talented animator and hard worker, literally employee of the month at Archgate. He originally created the toons and you know Joey basically took the credit. And the whole soul thing. You can’t separate the creation from the creator no matter what, and I think it’s parallel between Audrey with Joey and Bendy with Henry. Look at this weird family. Audrey’s soul was made, maybe from a piece of Joey’s soul, and a part of that was given to Bendy when they made it to the real world. 

   In “Dreams Come to Life”, Joey mentions how he shared his soul with Henry, so obviously the two were close, and whether they like it or not they influenced each other. What I’m getting at is that some of that artistic talent and creativity may have seeped into Audrey. If the Ink Machine is like a pen or canvas, and ink stains, then who's to say that in creating Audrey, parts of her are composed of the important people in Joey’s life: Allison and Henry? Writing it down kind of makes sense. Now, of course similar dialogue lines are probably just references to the first game, but what if?

As a treat for making it this far and while I have the confidence rn, here's some old-ish art technically from last year? I just like the potential between strained character relationships, the drama of it all ✨🤌.

Now, of course neither of the games are perfect and the storyline itself is kind of mixed up/confusing in some places, and this all may be a bunch of hogwash, but that's the beauty of fan work I guess, filling in the pieces and connecting dots like that one Charlie Day meme.

Once again I cast my lot into the digital sea of content like a note in a bottle, hoping to be uncorked and read by a stranger in the midst of multitudes, received not with scorn, but acceptance and understanding.
