Another one for the “for want of a nail” series by @myheadinthecloudsnotcomingdown. It’s a bit late but here’s my take on the cheat code logo. It was inspired by the games done quick logo, but I’m pretty proud that I got four letters into the D-pad.

Hot take but I actually don't mind the bnha ending. Obviously it's not perfect, but nothing is and that's what fanfiction is for. I'm mostly talking about the post timeskip part of the ending, since the long drawn out battle stuff is what bored me from the series in the first place.

More thoughts and spoilers under the cut:

So I've seen people upset about Izuku losing one for all, but him being quirkless again brings it all full circle and makes sure the whole one-for-all/all-for-one thing is actually done with. Since it's hard for quirkless people to be heros in quirked society, especially with his messed up arms, he becomes a teacher to he can still help and inspire the next generation. The part where he tells the circle hair kid that he CAN be a hero, even with a weak or nonexistent quirk, is him learning from his past and doing better than his predecessors by inspiring the next generation (instead of crushing their dreams...All Might better be glad midoriya didnt go villain...). Plus, at the end, it's implied that he gets to become an active hero again with the use of support gear, so he eventually gets to directly help people in the field as well as indirectly in class. I know a lot of people were hoping for ships and pairings to become canon, but honestly I don't care about that. There's so much discourse in the mha fandom already about that, and this way people can still ship who they like or whatever.

Anyways, I prefer Clouds fics and a couple of others to the main series anyway (mostly because they're shorter and get to the point a little faster) so take my thoughts with a grain of salt lol.

I don’t specialize in one fandom, but I do read a lot! Here are my top MHA fics of this year. I did finally read a bunch of fandom classics this time, and so if you’re wondering if any of them are still worth your while these are the ones that caught my eye!

For Their Sakes is probably my favorite though if you just want to skip to that one. So many good contenders, but that fic changed the way I look at Hawks completely. From an “eh” character to, Love Of My Life

Aim For the Heart — 5K | Gen: In which One For All died at his brother's hands, but inexplicably, is reborn as Aizawa Shouta

All That Matters in the End — 269K | Gen: Midoriya Izuku and Aizawa Shouta are brothers. It changes... everything

Anyone — 244K | Gen: Imagine a world where your quirk determines your path and your worth. A world that has no place for a quirkless boy. Despite that, Izuku is determined to become a hero. She was always the peacekeeper, the ice-quirk user who calms the hot-headed members of her family. What was she supposed to do when she was frustrated, and couldn't calm herself down? Go onto the streets and become a vigilante, of course

Negation — 19K | Gen: Passive Quirks are a bitch. Izuku is reasonably done with the situation

Paper Agency — 47K | Shinsou/Midoriya: Brand new U.A. graduate, Shinsou Hitoshi, has a lot on his plate between finding a job, looking for a place to live, figuring out what his relationship with his mentors is going to look like now that they're not teacher and student anymore, and why his civilian boyfriend, Izuku, is acting so damn weird

Summoning Problems — 4K | Gen: Izuku develops an inconvenient quirk. Hisashi Midoriya is not prepared

Throw Me a Goddamn Rope - Just Enough to Hang Myself With — 111K | Gen: All he did was walk Izuku Midoriya home. It wasn’t meant to turn into whatever mess this is

Tickets to the Todoroki Trauma Drama are Buy 1 Get 1 Free — 24K | Gen: When Fuyumi gets hit by a quirk that body-swaps twins, she wakes up somewhere else—despite the fact that her twin died a decade ago. That’s confusing enough on its own, but why is she surrounded by villains?

Viridian: The Green Guide — 272K | Kaminari/Midoriya: After his dream is finally crushed, Izuku isn’t quite sure there’s anything left for him to live for, but...he can’t exactly kill himself either, not without hurting the people he cares the most about. So, when he realizes that the quirkless can’t technically be vigilantes, it seems like the best of both worlds

I did see a Shinso/Ocha fic. It's one of myheadinthecloudsnotcomingdown's For Want of a Nail stories, each one having a different possible path for a Midoriya without One for All (a different character gets it in each of them). This specific one is "Cheat Code: Support Strategist," and has Uraraka get OfA.

I'm not sure if the pairing started out being the target, or if it was because a typo made Uraraka call Shinso "Shindig" and the author thought it amusing enough to make it her nickname for him.

I mean Ochako misunderstanding someone's name and awkwardly backtracking into making it a nickname is genuinely canon so.....
