Kenneth definitely took a shot when the overpass was built that his siblings hadn't (as far as we know), and grew up inspired and guided by Haru who was selfless and probably had other positive qualities to be modelled.

He also built the "fame" his younger siblings got passed on and took for granted. It wasn't his intention to become the king, and he knew humble times before that. Both Cheyenne and Xavier knew they will overtake the throne and had an opportunity to grow hubris over it. Both encouraged by their parents but also the kids at the creek they learned there's no boundaries/consequences to their actions.

I can sort of see Cheyenne's fierce spirit being fueled through the contrast with her loving chill older brother, and Xavier's as a rebuttal/modelling off his older sister (we saw her feed his inner revenge monster and actually train him).

Xavier had a whole character arc at the end of the show that delved into how he was greedy for power because he was lonely without it because what are social skills and basic empathy. I think he just didn't learn people skills because he didn't need to when making a scene/buying people worked well enough short term. Plus he already had Cheyenne's ways as an example.

Cheyenne had a load of expectations on herself when she replaced the beloved first king Kenneth, and toughened up to rule with an iron hand, she explained all of that herself. I don't think she was necessarily a mean kid before that.

I would really love an analysis of Xaviers family from Craig of the creek. I think all the siblings r so interesting, and i think it goes deeper than Xavier just being a spoiled kid. I can see that being the case maybe for his sister, but i just feel like theres something more to Xaviers character. Kenneth is literally like the sweetest guy on earth and he's not like that! Maybe that has something to do with him being the oldest of the three of them? I just think its interesting how both his younger siblings seem to have some sociopathic tendencies

I’m curious, got any more cotc snippets or fics you maybe working on? Also, how do you like S4 so far :)

I've mostly moved on from my old Craig of the Creek fics, but I do intend to finish the Missing People AU fic sometime because it's based off of someone else's story. The reason I haven't done much for it the past few years is that I lost a lot of motivation for it, and I really want to do the story justice.

Besides that, I do have some unfinished fics/concepts kicking around. I looked through the docs and there were some that I even forgot about, like a Raj/Shawn fic that seems like it was going to be hurt/comfort and invlove thinking about growing up and all that jazz. I also had a rough outline done for a fic about how the champions were chosen and got their powers, but I wasn't meshing well with what I had and eventually Champion's Hike came out and somewhat addressed that topic so I put the idea to rest. There was going to be at least one more entry in All The Kings Men called Royal Blood. It involved Cheyenne getting fed up with Xavier being around the house all day and being the spoiled brat he is, so she and Randy both go to the creek to find a way for Xavier to somehow be unbanished. Royal Blood is technically the ending of that series, but I also had some other ideas I could always revisit, and as it is All The King's Men does have a satisfying conclusion with Another Side, Another Chance.

I actually have this snippet that was cut from Sweet as Honeysuckle. I wrote it before I decided I was going to make a series, and before I knew what I was going to do with the Champions. After I figured out what I was going to do with these characters and the series as a whole, it obviously needed to be trimmed so they wouldn't be out of character, but I liked it enough to hold onto it. Here it is:

Shawn's shoe connected with a long, slender leg, and he fell to the ground.  His face practically glowed with embarrassment that he'd been tripped in front of his new boyfriend, even though Raj had seen it happen before.  It felt so different now.

Raj wasn't concerned with the grace, or lack thereof, of Shawn, however.  He was by Shawn's side in an instant, and helped him up.  "Are you okay?  Are you hurt?" he asked, brushing off the dirt that lingered on Shawn's shirt.

"Yeah," Shawn answered.

Two laughs were peppered over their exchange.  Raj cast a glare past Shawn towards the perpetrators.  Shawn could recognize the sound of Keun and Aggie before he turned to join in with his own scowl.  The person who tripped him in question stood over him with a wide grin.

Watch where you're going, stupid,Jackie signed, shoulders shaking with laughter in spite of his silence.  Shawn looked away from him so he wouldn't have to listen to him anymore.

Raj huffed, "Who are you trying to impress?  Your "king" is gone, and no amount of sucking up to him is actually going to give you any more popularity or power."

In response, Jackie shaped his hand into an 'L' and held it up to his forehead, earning another spatter of giggles from his two companions.  No one needed to understand sign language to know what that meant.

As for season 4, it's great! There are so many episodes I rewatch time and time again, like Hyde and Zeke, Galactic Goodbye, Dodgey Decisions, The Quick Name, and Champion's Hike especially. I'd name more, but I don't have the time lol, I'd be here all night!

So yeah, cotc fics again sometime in the distant future, and most of the ones I'm set on doing are already planned/outlined. The second chapter of Children of the Creek and bits of Royal blood have even been started. It's all about when I find the motivation to get back to working on them. In the meantime, expect a lot of Pokemon and Pizza Tower, since those are the only things getting me through my finals at the moment.

The fact that Michelle and Cheyenne were hanging out this episode, makes me think that once Xavier is knocked down and few pegs, we're going to see him try to rekindle his friendship with Omar.

Cotc got confirmed for season 4 so I like crew take their time rebuilding Him to be better

Seeing you know Epithet Erased and Craig of the Creek, do you see any of the Creek kids as inscribed (if they were part of the EE world)?

OH YES I DO!!

- Sparkle Cadet. Hands down. Maybe it's not exactly the word sparkle, but it's definitely a shiny word, like glitter or crystal. Something that sparkles.

- I feel like Bobby has something really ironic. Like, his epithet is something that repels candy, and it's why he's always dropping it. His epithet is something like Fluoride, that stuff in toothpaste. He wants candy so bad, but when he's not dropping it, he's fighting it to not disintegrate in his hand.

- Toman has the epithet synonym. He has his epiphany a few years after he starts playing at the creek, but he displays it's tendencies beforehand. No one is surprised.

- Kelsey discovers that she's inscribed about a year after she starts hanging out with JP and Craig. Her epithet is something tough but... Not quite fit for who she's become (which Jello says isn't uncommon in-universe). It's something like kickball or graze. Maybe she'll grow into it, maybe she won't, but the thing that I know for sure is that she hates being inscribed because being a mundie knight is so much cooler because they don't have powers to help them out.

- Handlebarb is inscribed with an epithet that makes them super resistant. Probably the epithet armor, which instead of giving them armor, made them tough like they themself were the armor. They don't find out until a while after they grow out of the creek, but once they do have their epiphany, all of the stuff that they were able to get away with unscathed at the creek suddenly made sense.

- Jason has an epithet related to loud sounds. Shout or Whoop comes to mind. This is entirely based on a fanfic written by @augment-techs . I'll link it here. Please read it, it's one of my favorite cotc fics.

- Frisboy has an epithet, aim. If he throws his frisbee at you, he Will Not Miss. Some kids ask him why he's second in command to a mundie queen. He throws his frisbee at them when they ask.

- All three of the Kings of the other side had an epithet, which is impressive considering how rare of an occurrence that'd be in universe. Kenneth's epithet was Bloom, he didn't have his epiphany until after he left the creek, but it's why he was so drawn to that movie as a kid. Cheyenne's epithet was surmount, and she had her epiphany a little under a year before she passed down the crown. Xavier's epithet was steadfast, and he had his epiphany a while before he became king. The epithets (and their abilities, for the latter pair) were a large reason the kings of the creek were never rebelled against for as long as they were.

- Speaking of the other side, Kuen Sup's speed definitely is an epithet. His epithet is Sonic. Like, the original definition of the speed of sound, of course, but it's also why he's just a walking Sonic reference lol.

BONUS CROSSOVER STUFF:

yeah i have a google doc for my epithet crossovers and AUs, and I have a page for cotc dhfkh so here's some extras from that.

- Secret Kid is a mundie, but so many kids at the creek have confided their epithets with him (or their friends epithets), that he could quite possibly out the entire creek if he wanted to. Luckily, Secret Kid is solid, and will never do that.

- Molly hits its off immediately with the stump kids. She gets along best with JP.

- Phoenica. Oh my god, Phoenica. She tries so hard to find like minded people at the creek. And ends up with the tea timers. Because dresses and manners and tea. And then she learns what they're all about. And. She leaves. And calls them bullies lol. But then who does she hang out with??? Oh no!! Then she meets Sparkle Cadet. And Just. MAGICAL GIRL!!! They're besties.

- Trixie encounters the dollhouse ghost boy. He creeps her out hardcore, even if she's used to ghosts by now. He's just got Weird Vibes.

- As for Trixie's clique, she kinda bounces between the sewer kids and the playground, true to the Roughhouse name. She can't decide which is better, but neither group seems to mind.

- Her twin, Rex, who won't be in epithet and was hardly in AC, sadly, is definitely with the climbers.

- Sylvie refuses to go to the Creek because it's for "little kids," but eventually, the Neo Trio (or at least Molly and Feenie) convince him to go to it. He somehow stumbles upon the plush kids, and they LOVE his sheep. Eventually the trio and maybe Rex too find him there and Phoenica goes HOG WILD over how soft the inside of the plush kids cave is.
